Is Vanna White’s Reign on “Wheel of Fortune” Nearing an Early End? Insider Suggests Desire to “Walk Away Sooner”

The iconic letter-turner of “Wheel of Fortune,” Vanna White, signed a contract extension in September 2023, confirming her presence on the beloved game show through the 2025-2026 season.

This brought a sigh of relief to many fans, especially after the highly publicized departure of long-time host Pat Sajak and the ushering in of new host Ryan Seacrest. However, recent whispers from an insider suggest that White’s future on the show might be more uncertain than her contract implies.

Vanna White Not Leaving 'Wheel of Fortune,' Signs New Contract

According to reports, an anonymous source close to the production has claimed that while White is contractually obligated until 2026, “there is a part of her that wants to walk away sooner.” This revelation, if true, introduces a new layer of complexity to the show’s transition period and raises questions about the long-term stability of its new hosting duo.

White has been a staple of “Wheel of Fortune” since 1982, becoming a pop culture icon known for her graceful movements, dazzling gowns, and unwavering smile. Her partnership with Pat Sajak spanned over four decades, creating a chemistry that defined the show for generations of viewers.

The insider’s purported reasoning behind White’s alleged desire for an earlier exit points to the significant shift in dynamic following Sajak’s retirement. “It is just so difficult to do this without Pat,” the source reportedly stated, adding that White “doesn’t jibe with Ryan like she did with Pat, and no one really ever expected her to.”

This sentiment underscores the immense challenge faced by any long-running show undergoing a major personnel change. While Ryan Seacrest has expressed his excitement and respect for White, calling her “the great Vanna White” and expressing his eagerness to work alongside her, the subtle nuances of on-screen chemistry can be difficult to replicate. Fans are keenly observing how the new partnership unfolds, and any perceived lack of natural rapport could certainly weigh on a performer with White’s extensive history on the show.

Furthermore, White herself has acknowledged the evolving nature of her role. With the puzzleboard transitioning from physical letters to touch-activated screens, and now apparently laser-operated, her physical “letter-turning” duties have become largely symbolic. While she has playfully insisted the show “needs” her, this technological advancement might also contribute to a feeling of lessened necessity, particularly if the emotional connection to her long-time co-host is also waning.

Fans defend Vanna White ahead of new 'Wheel of Fortune' season

The “Wheel of Fortune” brand is incredibly valuable, and its producers, Sony Pictures Television, would undoubtedly want to ensure a smooth and stable transition. The insider’s claim also suggests a possible understanding from White that the show might need to evolve to appeal to a younger demographic, potentially implying a willingness for a “younger female host” to eventually step in alongside Seacrest.

While Vanna White has publicly expressed happiness about her current contract and her decision to stay, these insider reports provide a glimpse into the emotional and professional complexities of a beloved television figure nearing the end of an unparalleled career.

Whether she chooses to see out her contract or indeed “walk away sooner” remains to be seen, but her eventual departure, whenever it occurs, will undoubtedly mark the true end of an era for “Wheel of Fortune.” Fans will continue to watch closely, hoping to savor every moment of her iconic presence on America’s favorite game show.

    No bad blood over here!

Vanna White has brushed off rumors of a feud between her and new “Wheel of Fortune” host Ryan Seacrest.

Taking to social media, White — a longtime fixture on the hit game show — shared a photo of her with Seacrest, 49, at a restaurant as the pair grabbed a bite together.

“Friends on and off camera. Enjoying one of our favorites, Chicken and Dumplings,” White, 67, captioned her Instagram post.

Seacrest, for his part, rushed to the comments section, writing, “Always a treat! Here’s to more fun moments and delicious bites 🥟!”

He later reposted the pic on his Instagram Story for his 6.5 followers on the platform.

“You two will make a great team. Can’t wait,” wrote one fan, while another added, “Looking forward to this duo and the new set in the fall!”

White’s post came just weeks after it was reported that she and Seacrest, who replaced longtime host Pat Sajak after 41 seasons, aren’t seeing eye-to-eye.

“She just doesn’t jibe with Ryan like she did with Pat, and no one really ever expected her to,” a source told the Daily Mail. “There is just no way that she possibly could.”

However, an insider close to Seacrest told The Post, “There is absolutely no truth to this story. Ryan and Vanna have started working together and have been having a lovely time on set.”

Seacrest will officially replace Sajak, 77, when “Wheel of Fortune” returns for Season 42 in September.

White, meanwhile, extended her contract to stay on the show until the 2025-2026 season after a salary dispute. According to TMZ, White secured a “substantial pay increase” with her deal.

White, who first appeared on Wheel of Fortune in 1982, was reportedly considering leaving “Wheel of Fortune” following Pat Sajak’s exit.

The ‘Wheel of Fortune’ co-host shared some insight into having a new partner on TV.

Vanna White thought about leaving 'Wheel of Fortune' with Pat Sajak

Wheel of Fortune went through some major changes when longtime host Pat Sajak announced his decision to retire in June 2024. He had been involved with the program for 41 seasons and developed a very close friendship with his co-host, Vanna White.

White, 68, knew that things were going to look very different without Sajak. However, there was something specific that new host Ryan Seacrest said that made White feel “good.”

“Ryan did his homework,” White told TV Insider. “He rehearsed and rehearsed and rehearsed. He also said to me, ‘I am not replacing Pat Sajak because no one could – ever. I am just stepping in.’ That made me feel good because, as Ryan said, he’s just stepping in – he’s not trying to prove anything.”

Seacrest took over for Sajak in September 2024 and things have been going well, so far. Seacrest inked a deal to host the show for the next several years, according to the New York Times.

As for White, she signed on for two more years with the show, though she’s unsure when she might retire.

“When I heard that Pat was retiring, I thought maybe I should retire too,” she admitted to TV Insider in May 2024. “But I’m not ready! We’ll see toward the end of those two years how I feel. I thank God after all these years that I still love my job.”

A Canadian version of television’s longest-running game show is coming to Citytv.

The Price is Right Tonight will be hosted by Canadian comedian and TV personality Howie Mandel and is set to air next spring.

Production of the first season, which will feature 12 hour-long episodes, will begin in Toronto this December.

“I’ve been a fan of The Price is Right my entire life, so stepping into this iconic role is an absolute thrill,” Mandel said in a news release.

Dubbed television’s longest-running game show, The Price is Right is originally an American series which has amassed 53 seasons over its decades-long run and is currently hosted by comedian Drew Carey.

Online, some people feel that a Canadian version of the popular game show is a good idea.

“Now I really want to see a taping in person!” one Reddit user said.

“Family Feud Canada has somewhat moderate success, so I don’t see why TPIR Canada won’t do okay as well,” another person commented.

“Is this really a good idea? All I’m going to hear about is the inflated prices of literally everything and how they just continue to go up,” one person on X commented. “Might insight some people to get outright p***ed off.”

The Price Is Right might have just had a first in the history of the game show. A male contestant stripped down after winning prizes totaling $8,390. He stunned model Alexis Gaube with his wild antics and prompted host Drew Carey to give him a fist bump.

The game show started off with a bang on Monday, June 2. Contestant Jason won the first item up for bid — a trip to San Diego, worth $3,157 — after bidding $3,100. He high-fived contestants and flexed his muscles as he came to the stage.

Drew Carey told him he would be playing Do The Math for a home gym and a billiards table. All Jason had to was guess if the price of the home gym plus $1,496 was equal to the pool table or if the gym minus the money was the cost.

Jason guessed plus. The home gym was $2,699, making the billiards table $4,195. He was correct and won both prizes and the money.

As soon as he ran over to the prizes, Jason stripped his shirt off and got on the workout machine. Gaube’s mouth dropped open as she clapped. She hid her face in her hands, trying not to laugh.

“Look at that!” Drew Carey said. “Come on, man. That’s amazing!” He gave Jason a fist bump as the contestant started working out.

Jason only spun a 65 on the wheel, so he did not advance to the Showcase.

The Price Is Right fans were just as shocked as Carey and Gaube. Jason’s win was shared on YouTube and Reddit.

“At first I thought Drew was gonna tell the guy to put his shirt back in,” a YouTube user wrote.

“DID HE JUST TAKE HIS SHIRT OFF?” asked another.

“He did! What in the world,” a fan replied.

“Soooo…for everyone & anyone who saw the show today (June 02, 2025), that thing that happened at the end of the first game is the first time that’s ever happened, right? Right??” a Reddit user posted.

“Haha was awesome. Drew trying to fist bump him in the middle of a set was crazy. But awesome nonetheless,” replied one fan.

“Lmao it was so funny, he was like ‘no days off!!!’” one last fan said.

The Price Is Right’s George Gray always seems so smooth and perfect at his job. He has been the announcer on the show since 2011, calling out contestants’ names and urging them to “Come on down!”

Now, in an exclusive interview with TV Insider, Gray admits he has a big secret: He’s always messing up contestants’ names, but most viewers at home would never know it.

“If your name’s Andrea, [Ann dreea] I’ll call you Andrea [Awn drea]. If it’s Tara [Tare-a] I’ll call you Tara [Tar-a]. If your last name was Wojaho, I’ll call you Smith. It’s a train wreck,” he confessed.

“I go out in front of the audience and do a little what we call warm-up for a couple moments before we start the show. And I always say, ‘I just want you to be prepared. I’m going to mess up your name. So I will try to do my very best, but I’m going to butcher it, and I’m sorry,’” he admitted.

However, the game show has a secret way to help Gray avoid gaffes. “Every time I say a name, no matter how wrong I say it, there’s somebody on stage that holds up a cue card, and in huge, ginormous letters, is that person’s name, so first and last name. No matter what I do to their name, it’s still there. So that’s, that’s how foolproof we’ve gotten,” The Price Is Right announcer said.

“Yeah, that happens all the time where, you know, is it Caribbean or Caribbean, right? And I’ll ask the producers, and sometimes they’ll just say ‘tomato tomato. It’s your choice.’ But I know somebody’s gonna go, ‘He’s doing it wrong.’”

gray also revealed a little about how TPIR is filmed. The show airs 195 new episodes a year.

“Back in Bob [Barker]’s day, I believe they shot, I think it was one a day and then two on Thursdays. So we’d have off Friday and be able to golf and have a long weekend. When I came on 15 years ago, we were typically doing two a day, and every rare once in a while, we do three. And now it’s the other way around. We typically do three every once in a while, like if we’re doing a prime-time episode day, or something like that, then we’ll do two. So it sort of depends on how they build the schedule. In theory, we could do it, it could take 195 days. Or we, if you could figure out how to shoot 12 a day, they’d have us out of there in a couple of weeks.”

When they have finished filming for the day Gray, host Drew Carey, the models, and the crew sometimes go out to a bar down the street from the studio and hang out as “one big family.”

Season 53 is winding down as it ends at the end of June, but fans can expect Gray back for 54, as well as some new things. “We start every season with a bang. We always have a new game, so there’ll be a new game. There’ll always be a new fun piece on the set to look at or a different color. We always, mix it up. We actually go back and start our next season at the end of July,” he ended.

Reba McEntire and other crucial members of the show’s creation team spills some KEY SECRETS behind the hit series ‘Happy’s Place’.

Reba McEntire & Creators Share the Truth Behind ‘Happy’s Place’

When “Happy’s Place” premiered in October 2024, fans got a chance to see country music star Reba McEntire back on the small screen again. The show became a beloved NBC staple in its first season, prompting interest in how this sitcom came to be. In a video interview with IndieWire, McEntire and other crucial members of the show’s creation team spilled some key secrets behind the hit series.

Here, we’ll review some behind-the-scenes details about the show’s tone, and how “Happy’s Place” as we know it almost never happened.

McEntire Says Balancing Comedy and Drama Was Key

Reba McEntire posing for a photoGettyReba McEntire attends Variety Power Of Women: Nashville on May 01, 2025 in Nashville, Tennessee.
One thing many fans love about “Happy’s Place” is its balance between comedy and sad or difficult moments, which McEntire said was a key part of the creation process. According to the country singer, the team took the balancing act lessons they learned while working on “Reba” and translated them into this new project. “[There were] lessons that we learned on the ‘Reba’ show that we carried over into Happyy’s Place,” she explained. “We’ve got to laugh. We got to cry. But if we do it together, we’re all stronger.”

Co-creator Kevin Abbott shared that McEntire is the ideal person to help bring that balance to “Happy’s Place.” “Reba as a star is just uniquely suited to do that,” he said. “She’s a really warm, wonderful, deeply sensitive. person. And, you know, that wants to be communicated in the show.” He also shared that he and McEntire are on the same wavelength when it comes to the show’s tone.

The Series Was Almost a True ‘Reba’ Reboot

It’s no secret that “Happy’s Place” quickly became an informal “Reba” reunion, with several of the original castmates starring (or at least appearing for cameos) in the series. However, Abbott revealed, the sitcom was almost a full-on reboot instead of an original series. “We were working on a reboot, actually,” he said. “For about a year, the old team had gotten together.”

Abbott went on to explain that the core team put together a pitch for the “Reba” reboot, and even got the original cast to agree to participate. However, the reboot that he, McEntire, and the rest of the team envisioned just wasn’t meant to be. “There was a lot of chaos then, with Disney and Fox becoming one company,” he said. Once the dust settled, the powers that be informed the “Reba” team that they planned to pass on the reboot for financial reasons.

Although fans lost out on what could have been a fun new chapter for the “Reba” characters, “Happy’s Place” has proved to be a very popular replacement. NBC renewed the series for a second season, which premieres this fall.

“Anything’s Possible”: ‘Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage’ Showrunner Teases Georgie’s Future Following Season 1 Finale

Georgie at his father's Grave in Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage

It’s been a few days since the Season 1 finale of Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage aired on CBS. While Season 2 has already been greenlit, Georgie’s future has already been set in stone thanks to The Big Bang Theory. But how Georgie went from a teenager with “gumption” to owning a successful tire store has yet to be discovered, and according to Steve Holland, he teases that the road ahead isn’t going to be easy.

In a recent interview, the showrunner teased that Georgie’s road to success isn’t going to be easy and that a lot is at stake, as his mother’s house is on the line. While the team didn’t lay down exactly what’s going to happen, he said that anything is possible and that they would like to put pressure on the character, especially since a lot is at stake.

“Anything’s possible. We haven’t thought that far ahead yet, but one of the things that we liked about is that it makes the stakes higher. Georgie has always had this drive to succeed, but now there’s a lot of pressure on him,” the EP pointed out. “It’s not just his future that he’s risking. It’s also his mother and his sister’s house that he’s risking. We like piling as much on Georgie’s shoulders as we can.”

Season 1 of Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage ended with Georgie (Montana Jordan) and Mandy (Emily Osment) making huge decisions about their future and agreeing to trust each other if they want their marriage to work. Mandy got a new job as a weather girl but with the caveat of working with her ex. Meanwhile, Georgie and Ruben (Jessie Prez) bought Jim’s store, and Fred Fagenbacher (Matt Letscher) threatens to drive them out of business. While Season 2’s release date has yet to be released, showrunners teased that their careers will play a role in the future complications of their marriage.

How ‘The Big Bang Theory’ Sealed Georgie’s Future?

    georgie-and-mandy-season-1-episode-11

It’s no secret that Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage is part of The Big Bang Theory Franchise, set when Sheldon is studying at CalTech in California. Due to this, the Young Sheldon spin-off has to stick to the franchise’s canon. While Georgie isn’t heavily featured in the show and only made his first appearance in Season 11, details of what’s in store for him have already been revealed.

Sadly, Georgie’s marriage to Mandy eventually led to a divorce, and he ended up in new relationships with other women. But despite his love life being in shambles, his business venture would end up successful. George eventually returned to school via a community college, which paved the way for him to run his tire store, Dr. Tire. Sheldon (Jim Parsons) described his success as “a loser who sells more tires than anyone in Texas.” During the Season 1 finale, Georgie teased about changing the sign from Jim’s old store, and while it’s uncertain that would be the start of Dr Tire, at least his success is already set in stone. Fans just have to watch what led to it.

‘Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage’ Season 2 Needs To Let Georgie Grow Beyond ‘Young Sheldon’

    georgie-and-mandy-season-1-episode-11-featured

Throughout the first season of Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage, the titular couple, Montana Jordan‘s Georgie and Emily Osment‘s Mandy, slowly but surely began to realize just how hard this marriage thing truly can be. Learning to listen to one another. Working with one another. Finding that balance between the things you can let go, and the things that will drive you mad if you let it continue.

Then there’s the real shocker: sex isn’t the answer to fixing things all the time. Even that can be a source of disagreement between a young couple, particularly if one party is looking to grow the family while the other isn’t, as played out in Episode 16, “Baby Fight.” Being the younger of the two, Georgie has done his best, and has had his successes, yet in many ways he’s still the same Georgie from Young Sheldon. Season 2 needs to let him grow, turning this Junior into a Senior.

The ‘Young Sheldon’ Georgie Takes Shortcuts to Adulthood

Montana Jordan as Georgie in Young Sheldon

Georgie started out as a high school student and football player, one that had the unenviable situation of being in the same class as his 10-year-old child prodigy brother, Sheldon (Iain Armitage). He acted like any high schooler would in that scenario: angry, jealous, perturbed, and, deep down, maybe even proud. But we soon learned that Georgie had a tremendous work ethic, and a “never give up” attitude. He also had an innate entrepreneurial spirit, one that successfully sold snow globes to Texans, of all people (“Quirky Eggheads and Texas Snow Globes”), and one that helped Meemaw (Annie Potts) launch her illegal casino.

But his arc on the series saw Georgie take a number of shortcuts into adulthood. He quits school in Season 3’s “Potential Energy and Hooch on a Park Bench,” determining that he’s not cut out for academics or football, and would be better served working longer hours earning money. As we know, he ended up getting Mandy pregnant in Season 5, a big step into adulthood that culminated in the pair getting married in Season 7’s “A Proper Wedding and Skeletons in the Closet.” The unexpected death of the Cooper patriarch, George Sr. (Lance Barber), wasn’t of his own making, of course, but the result is the same, pushing Georgie deeper into adulthood before he’s truly ready for it.

The ‘Young Sheldon’ Georgie Lives On in ‘Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage’

It’s the same Young Sheldon Georgie that has largely been present in Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage‘s first season. It makes sense, and it’s a credit to the creative team that they’re taking time to let Georgie mature. But, it’s a bit tough to watch. He’s still impulsive, right up to the point of buying the tire shop off of his father-in-law, Jim McAllister (Will Sasso), in the season finale. He still has the belief that things will just work out, and while it’s good to know he still has that optimism, Georgie’s now in a position where sheer belief isn’t an option. That belief also prevents Georgie from thinking about the very real consequences that befall such adult decisions.

Montana Jordan as Georgie and Emily Osment as Mandy smiling toward the camera

Georgie also hasn’t learned anything from his experiences. In Young Sheldon‘s Season 3 episode “Body Glitter and a Mall Safety Kit,” Georgie runs afoul of his father when he asserts that, because he’s working, he no longer has to contribute to household chores, and makes it worse by paying Billy (Wyatt McClure) to mow the lawn, disregarding the lesson that George is trying to teach him by throwing money at something he doesn’t want to do. An attempt to smooth things over with Georgie ends badly when Georgie offers to pay to get the AC fixed in the truck, unintentionally offending George by overstepping and disrespecting him. It’s an experience that one would think would sink in, only he does it again by paying off Jim’s gambling debt to Meemaw in “Snitch v. Deadbeat,” overstepping and trying to fix something he has no business interfering in.

‘Young Sheldon’s Georgie Will Kill ‘Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage’ Unless He Grows

Montana Jordan's Georgie and Emily Osment's Mandy in bed in Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage

We know that, at some point, the “first marriage” part of the show’s title will come to pass with the marriage ending, but unless Georgie is allowed to grow in Season 2, that ending is coming sooner than later. What the season finale made clear is just how far Georgie needs to go. The impulsive decision to buy the tire shop is one thing, but the fact that he kept it quiet from Mandy is something else entirely. Big, life-altering decisions like that need to be made with one’s partner, not withheld like it’s a secret mission. It shows an unwillingness to share with Mandy the important things, and it’s especially troubling that he lacks the foresight to realize that it is more than just him, and more than just Mandy. CeeCee’s future is at stake, and he is gambling on an impulsive decision.

But it’s the justification that really shows how very young Georgie still is. He’s not penitent, and he doesn’t acknowledge the position he’s placed the family in. Instead, he harbors a young person’s outlook on it, something that’s not quite spite, but as close as you can get to it. Essentially — and I am paraphrasing somewhat — Georgie tells Mandy that he’s buying the tire shop off of her father “because you blew all that credit card money.” It is, in a word, childish, and on its own enough to drive the relationship off a cliff. The fact that Mandy isn’t really any better (she’s withholding the fact she’s working with her ex) isn’t keeping that car on the road, either.

So, when Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage returns for Season 2, it would be wise to have Georgie and Mandy take an honest look at where they are, together, and not as separate entities trying to fight the same fire from two different sides. Georgie needs to understand — truly understand — what the possible repercussions might be and plan for them, not rely on everything simply working out. And, like his father before him, Georgie needs to embrace the role of being CeeCee’s father, making decisions that aren’t just about him but ones that benefit both her and Mandy, even if it means sacrificing his own wants. Georgie wanted to rush into adulthood, and in Season 2 of Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage, it’s time that he embraces all that it encompasses.

Shifting Gears star gets major pay raise heading into second season

Big moves are happening off-screen for Shifting Gears. As the breakout series gears up for its upcoming second season, one of its leading stars is cashing in on the show’s success with a hefty pay raise. We’re talking about Seann William Scott, who plays the role of Gabriel in the ABC comedy sitcom.

According to InTouch Weekly, Scott is currently going through a messy legal and personal dispute with his ex-wife, Olivia Korenberg. They are involved in a court battle over issues related to their living arrangements. Specifically, Korenberg accused Scott of trying to kick her and their daughter out of his Malibu home. Scott pushed back against these claims in court, disputing some of the allegations and asking the court to dismiss parts of her statements that he says are based on hearsay.

They recently attended a mediation to try to resolve their differences, but couldn’t come to an agreement. Now, they’re headed for a formal court hearing where Scott will testify about the situation. Alongside these personal and legal challenges, Scott informed the court that he has received a significant pay increase for Shifting Gears season 2.

As reported by InTouch Weekly, Scott previously told the court in February that he had earned a total of $900,000 for his role in the first season of Shifting Gears. Since the season consisted of 10 episodes and he appeared in all of them, this breaks down to approximately $90,000 per episode. In a more recent official declaration, Scott has now revealed that his pay per episode for the upcoming second season has risen significantly to $225,000. This number is said to be before commissions are taken out.

The new season consists of 10 episodes. If Scott appears in all of them, that means he will be making about $2.25 million for the season. That’s a pretty impressive jump from the $900,000 he earned for the entire first installment. Honestly, it makes you wonder what fellow leading stars Tim Allen and Kat Dennings are pulling in for their roles. The show is literally about them, so if Scott is earning that much, it’s safe to assume their paychecks are even more substantial.

Shifting Gears revolves around Allen’s Matt Parker character, who finds himself unexpectedly playing the role of full-time grandparent when his estranged daughter moves back in with her two kids. Dennings portrays the role of Matt’s daughter, Riley. The comedy sitcom will return this fall, with new episodes airing on Wednesdays at 8/7c on ABC.
