‘Happy’s Place’ Sneak Peek: Bobbie & Isabella Have an Emotional Breakthrough (VIDEO)

Reba McEntire's new sitcom 'Happy's Place' renewed for second season on NBC: What to know

Happy’s Place may have introduced viewers to a unique sister dynamic between bar co-owners Bobbie (Reba McEntire) and Isabella (Belissa Escobedo), but now the show is exploring some interesting answers surrounding their father.

In TV Insider’s exclusive first look at the show’s sixth installment, “Happy’s House,” airing Friday, November 22, Bobbie is bringing Isabella to Happy’s house in search of answers and a connection to their late father. As fans who have been tuning into the new hit comedy know by now, Isabella grew up out of Happy’s presence, learning at the same time as Bobbie that she’s acquired half of the man’s bar despite never knowing about her true parentage.

The adjustment period for the sisters has led to some fairly comedic moments but this sneak peek clip, above, is offering a glimpse into more emotional territory as the women sit in Bobbie’s apparent childhood room. Taking a seat at the tea table, Isabella questions Bobbie about their dad as she tries putting together a more complete picture of the man in her mind.

Rattling through various questions about Happy’s favorite color and food, Isabella delivers a whammy of a question when she asks Bobbie, “Why didn’t he acknowledge me?”

Taken aback, Bobbie absorbs the gravity of such a question, admitting that she doesn’t know. It’s a perspective-changing moment, it would seem, as Isabella tells her new sister that it’s a question she’s had some time to think about over the years. Can Isabella find comfort in Bobbie’s responses, or will Happy’s absence only lead to more heartache for the young woman?

Considering Isabella never got closure before Happy’s death, it seems that the comfort Isabella is seeking remains in Bobbie’s possession. Don’t miss it for yourself. Catch the sneak peek clip, above, and tune into the newest episode when it airs on NBC.

Peterman plays Gabby, the tavern’s bubbly and spunky bartender and McEntire’s IRL boyfriend Rex Linn plays Emmett, the pub’s cook who likes to keep to himself but is often doling out sage advice to Bobbie. Pablo Castelblanco plays Steve, Bobbie’s accountant who’s also a bit of a germaphobe, and Tokala Black Elk plays Takoda, the bar’s friendly waiter and resident handyman.

McEntire told NPR’s All Things Considered she “wanted to work with the same people that I know and love” ever since Reba ended in 2007. The Queen of Country has added her touch all over this sitcom; she also provided her vocals and co-wrote the Happy’s Place theme song with Carole King.

The Voice’s Michael Bublé gets emotional over son after singer loses her dad: ‘I couldn’t get through it’

The final night of the Playoffs was filled with tears.

Coach Michael Bublé was brought back to a difficult time in his personal life on Tuesday’s episode of The Voice, when team member Sloane Simon had to prepare a performance knowing that her father, who was struggling with cancer, was not expected to live long.

Bublé revealed in 2016 that his 3-year-old son, Noah, whom he shares with wife Luisana Lopilato, had been diagnosed with liver cancer and was undergoing treatment. He’s now in remission.

But hearing about what Simon was going through made Bublé tear up during rehearsal with her and country artist Carly Pearce, who was helping him advise his team members on their performances for the final night of the Playoffs.

“I went through my own personal thing when my son got sick, and I couldn’t get through it,” Bublé said. “I just couldn’t, and that’s okay. Like you said, [we’re] human beings. It’s a show, and it’s not as big as you, as important as you and your trajectory and your journey, this is just a part of it.”

Simon’s dad and the rest of her family had always wanted her to continue on The Voice, despite their circumstances.

By the time the 19-year-old from Pittsburgh, Pa., went before the audience and all the coaches, including Reba McEntire, Gwen Stefani, and Snoop Dogg, her dad had died.

She sang “Good Luck, Babe!” by Chappell Roan. Before she went on, she said, “I think putting my emotions out there with this song is definitely what’s gonna give me a shot at going through to Lives.”

    And the coaches were fans.

Snoop was compelled to walk onstage. “The spirit of your father is telling me to give you a hug right now,” he said, adding that she “did amazing.”

Stefani, Simon’s original coach, was left wiping her eyes in her chair. “Oh my god,” she said.

    McEntire was also in tears.

It was Snoop who said it all: “Let me say this to you, sister Sloane: I’m proud of you. Dad’s proud of you. Thank you so much, Sloane.”

Bublé himself called her performance “marvelous” and one that would have made her dad “so proud.”

In an aside to the camera, he said that he had no idea how Simon had the inner strength to pull off her moment in the spotlight under the circumstances.

Still, Simon was one of three contestants Bublé sent home ahead of the Live Shows that begin next week. The others leaving the competition were young Jaukeem Fortson and Cameron Wright, who did an impressive job on songs by Michael Jackson and Whitney Houston, respectively.

Bublé opted to bring Shye and Sofronio Vasquez into the final round when the show returns after the holiday.

The Voice airs Mondays and Tuesdays on NBC and the following day on Peacock.

Snoop Dogg cuts The Voice contestant who sang ‘one of the hardest songs you could ever give somebody to sing’

    Two words: Whitney Houston.

Snoop Dogg had an emotional night Monday on The Voice.

Surprisingly, he said goodbye to Aliyah Khaylyn, a 23-year-old from Philadelphia who knocked the judges out with her performance of Whitney Houston’s “I Have Nothing.”

Snoop himself said Khaylyn would be “performing one of the hardest songs that you could ever give somebody to sing on this show.” And she nailed it.

Like costars Reba McEntire, Michael Bublé, and Gwen Stefani, however, the rapper had to make hard choices trimming his team from the five members he brought into the Playoffs to the two he can take to the final live shows. He and McEntire were up.

The rapper stole Khaylyn from Team Bublé in the Battle Round, and the other coaches acted as if they would have stolen her again, if only they’d had steals available.

Even as she sang the final note, Stefani said, “I’m in shock right now.”

In her signature twang, McEntire said, “If you don’t have music out soon, I’m gonna cry, ’cause I love your voice. You’re so good.”

While Snoop himself was wowed, it wasn’t enough. After mentoring the contestants, this week with the assistance of Olympic gymnast Simone Biles, and seeing them perform, the rapper selected Jeremy Beloate and Christina Eagle to move forward.

About Eagle, he quipped, “She had one wing when I met her, and then she got a second wing and, as you can see, the eagle has landed.”

For Beloate, a 25-year-old from New York City, his passionate performance of “The Impossible Dream (My Quest)” by Josh Groban sealed his fate in the Live shows.

“Damn, Snoop!” Bublé said. “Dude, that is one of my favorite performances so far.”

Both Snoop and McEntire were in tears over the Broadway-caliber performance.

Eagle secured her place with a rendition of McEntire’s own “Fancy,” of which the country queen approved.

“Really?! Oh my gosh, that was incredible!” McEntire said. “I loved the way you changed it around. Your choreography was great. You were passionate about it. Wonderful, wonderful job!”

Snoop also said goodbye to Austyns Stancil, who sang “Adore” by Prince in full and unwavering falsetto, and Mikaela Ayira, after her beautiful take on “Love” by Keyshia Cole.

For her own team, McEntire, who worked with Lainey Wilson this week, chose to keep Adam Bohanan, who performed “Think I’m in Love With You” by Chris Stapleton, and Danny Joseph, after his cover of Marvin Gaye’s “I Heard It Through the Grapevine.” Katie O, Edward Preble, and Lauren-Michael Sellers all went home.

Playoffs conclude Tuesday at 9 p.m. on NBC.

New Coach Niall Horan Calls The Voice “Horrible”

    Niall Horan The Voice

Niall Horan, will serve as a coach on The Voice season 28 this season. And having gotten his start in the music business as a contestant on the X Factor UK in 2010, he knows what it’s like to be a contestant and feels horrible when he must eliminate an artist.

The former One Direction singer told RTE 2fm via The Sun that he both loves and hates his new role as coach, sitting alongside fellow newbie Chance the Rapper and veterans Kelly Clarkson and Blake Shelton.

“It’s horrible, I love it and hate it in equal measure.”

Niall said: “The great part is picking the team, you get to pick a team of ten and that is great, it’s pressing the red button, out pitching Kelly Clarkson–it’s all that kind of stuff, that’s the great part.”

“Then the rest of it is picking songs for people, which I love, coming up with musical arrangements with the band and the artist, which is really cool. It is a lot more interactive than I thought it would be with the artists.”

But next is the hard part, and Niall’s empathy kicks in. He KNOWS what it’s like to be them.

He said: “The hardest part is they do like battles and knockouts, where they go up on stage and sing against each other and then you have to pick on the spot who is going through and who is not.

“The moment it is just horrific seeing these little faces, it is just not nice.”

“That’s when the empathy side of things kicks in and I don’t think I’ll ever lose that because I know exactly what it is like to stand on the other side of someone who has got your future in their hands.”

Niall Horan in fiery on air row as US music legend lashes out at The Voice star and screams: 'I can't stand you' | The Irish Sun

He added: “We are shooting that part now and it is horrible. You are looking at a 19 year-old up there who, if I say no, has convinced themselves already that it is the end of their career.”

“I think it is letting people know there is more over the hills for them because they are only 19 but in the moment it is just horrific seeing these little faces, it is just not nice.”

The Voice season 28 premiers on Monday March 6 on NBC at 8 pm ET/PT. The coaches have almost finished taping the season. On Wednesday, The Voice will tape the very last day of The Playoffs. That round comes after the Blind Audition (taped in October), The Battles, and The Knockouts.

Additionally, Niall is promoting his new single, “Heaven” from his forthcoming album The Show. He told the outlet that his new single is “basically saying what we have now is perfectly fine. Live in the moment see what happens an if it doesn’t work, it doesn’t work, but at least we had a good time doing it.”

Just months after Huntley was crowned as the winner of season 24, folks are tuning in to see the newest batch of artists vie for the chance to make their musical dreams come true. With Reba McEntire, John Legend, Chance the Rapper and Dan + Shay sitting in the iconic red chairs as this season’s coaches, there is no doubt they will find the best singers to mentor throughout the competition. What’s more, we can’t wait to see what hilarious dynamics play out, now that the show is debuting the first double chair for the coaches and incorporating new unexpected twists for the season.

While fans are ecstatic to see what the new installment will bring, many are saddened not to see Niall Horan as one of the coaches for season 25. After all, he helped lead both Huntley and Gina Miles to victory after debuting as a coach during season 23. Given his success rate, it’s hard to imagine why he’d decide to step away and leave The Voice for season 25. Turns out there’s an exciting reason behind his exit, and it has to do with Niall’s own successful music career.

Although Niall didn’t explicitly state the reason why he decided not to join The Voice for season 25, he’s currently on tour for his third album The Show. Niall kicked off The Show Live on Tour in Belfast, UK on February 21, and his schedule is packed with concert dates around the world through September 2024.

“I am beyond thrilled to announce The Show Live On Tour 2024!” Niall announced on Instagram back in May 2023. “It’s been far too long and I can’t wait to see your beautiful faces.”

At the time of Niall’s big reveal, fans were ecstatic to see him back onstage. “Omg we have to go!!” one person exclaimed on Instagram. “He’s finally going on tour 🥲,” another declared. “Seems as if we have a concert to plan,” a different follower added.

Even though his job on The Voice seems to be on hold for now, Niall still takes his role as former mentor seriously. When Huntley spoke to Entertainment Tonight in December 2023 about his rapport with his coach, he shared how appreciative he is to have Niall on his side.

“Whenever I feel like I’m too busy or complaining about this process, I kind of just think back and I’m like, this dude’s literally flying around the world and still messaging me back on my emails,” he stated at the time. “It’s pretty cool — I respect it very, very much.”

We obviously need to see how The Voice season 25 shakes out, but we hope Niall returns to a red chair someday soon!

Singer-songwriter Niall Horan is reportedly “laying down his roots” with a new home that he’s said to have bought for himself and his partner Amelia Woolley recently. Now, those close to Niall are claiming that the move is the next step in their relationship.

It was reported just last month that Niall, 31, had spent £10 million on a house in London. The six-bedroom property was described as a “proper family home” for the musician, who’s best known for formerly being a member of One Direction, and his partner Amelia, 27, as well as the couple’s dog.

Following the news, it’s now been claimed that Niall’s inner circle after “thrilled” by the apparent latest development in his relationship with Amelia. They are thought to have been together since 2020, with it reported that year that they began a romance amid lockdown in the Covid pandemic.

Niall Horan and Amelia Woolley sat together in a black-and-white photo.

A source told the Sun that whilst Niall enjoys touring, the apparent new home is him “laying down his roots”. They said: “Niall loves travelling and touring but this is him really laying down his roots with his new home with Mia.”

The source went on to tell the outlet: “All of Niall’s loved ones have totally embraced Amelia, they can see how happy she makes him. She is part of the family.”

The outlet claims that it was Amelia’s “normal job” that first endeared her to Niall’s family when she was introduced to them in 2021. She’s said to currently work as an international sales and marketing manager for the Forest Road Brewery Company.

It adds that Amelia once studied fashion business at the Istituto Marangoni in London. She’s said to have worked for brands like Nicholas Kirkwood, with it previously reported that she was working for the shoe designer brand when she met Niall.

Niall’s mother, Maura Gallagher, spoke about Amelia, who’s said to have grown up in Birmingham, on RTÉ Radio 1 in 2022. Before sharing her thoughts, she recalled her son bringing his girlfriend, whom she didn’t name, home to Ireland, saying: “He’s brought her home to Mullingar.”

Asked she had met his girlfriend, Maura confirmed that she had and shared praise. She revealed on the radio show three years ago: “I have indeed. She’s a lovely girl.”

When asked where Niall’s partner was from, his mother said: “She’s from England and she’s not in the business, so that’s a good one!” Maura went on to agree that she was “very impressed” by her son’s latest partner.

Her comments came after Niall had previously been linked to other celebrities over the course of his career. They include fellow singer-songwriter Ellie Goulding and actor Hailee Steinfeld.

Given an insight into his relationship with Amelia, Niall told Cosmopolitan in 2023: “I wouldn’t say I’m like ‘rose petals on the floor’ type of romantic, but I’m good at caring. I’m good at making dinners and the day-to-day stuff.” Speaking about love languages, he added: “I’m good at words of affirmation and I’m good at touch.”

Much like its Shell Game, The Price Is Right is mixing things up. Producers of the long-running CBS game show are preparing a new themed installment and even a redemption episode.

In the past, The Price Is Right has themed episodes around holidays like Christmas, Halloween, and April Fool’s Day, as well as events like the Super Bowl, the Grammy Awards, and NCAA March Madness. And viewers can expect at least one new theme in upcoming episodes.

“We switch it up,” executive producer Evelyn Warfel told TV Insider during our recent set visit. “This year we’re doing Galentine’s [Day].”
    The Price Is Right

    Sonja Flemming/CBS

The Price Is Right is also gearing up for a “redemption” episode, Warfel teased. What exactly does that mean? Are past contestants getting another shot at the Showcase Showdown? Details are scarce — Warfel only said it’s a concept “never done before” in the show’s 51-year history.

Jeopardy!'s Ken Jennings and The Price Is Right's Drew Carey have more in common than you think

Producers are also keeping The Price Is Right exciting with its wide variety of games, from Any Number to Vend-O-Price and everything in between. “We have 79 games for a reason,” Warfel explained, referring to the options kept in a warehouse when they’re not in use on set. “When you tune into the show, it feels different every time.”

Despite the variety of games and the upcoming changes, The Price Is Right is still sticking to the format that that has been entertaining audiences since 1972. “For me, the importance of the show is holding on to the nostalgia,” Warfel said. “The reason people continue to tune in year after year is because they remember how it made them feel, the place they were in their life when they watched — like with one of their grandparents or being home sick from school. We do our best with every change we make to still remind people.”

Ken Jennings has landed himself in some hot water.

On last night’s episode of “Jeopardy!” Jennings made a remark about people in assisted living facilities that offended some viewers, and they were quick to air their grievances on social media.

During the interview portion of the game show, which is currently airing the Champions Wildcard tournament, the host was talking to contestant Jen Jazwinski, who spoke about her grandmother.

    A photo of Ken Jennings

She said that in one of her previous appearances on the show, she mentioned how important her grandmother was to her and what she’d done for her.

“When I did that, her entire home where she lives was watching, and they stood and gave her a standing ovation during that part of the show,” she told Jennings last night. “So that was a really special moment for her and for me.”

In return, Jennings said, “That’s great. And that means a lot in assisted living. Standing up: not easy . . . for all those people, I would assume.”

    A photo of Ken Jennings

Jazwinski ended up winning the game, but several viewers were hung up on Jennings’ remark.

One person tagged the “Jeopardy!” account on X, formerly Twitter, and wrote, “Really? Nothing like a little casual ageism from @KenJennings – it’s difficult for people in assisted living to stand up? Disappointed.”

Another viewer said, “@KenJennings disses the elderly tonight 11/09/23 when responding to Jen who said her grandma’s home residents stood up and clapped at her winning. He said they’re so old hard to stand up. He should apologize. @Jeopardy He promotes himself as a good Mormon NOT.”

Ken Jennings on the Jeopardy stage

“You used to be able to laugh at Ken’s joke about assisted living,” another mused. “In the 90’s as a late teen/20 something, I would of laughed. Now I find myself having mixed feelings.”

One comment read, “@KenJennings just made a joke about people in assisted living and I didn’t know whether to laugh or cringe so I did both.” To further illustrate their point, they used the hashtags “funny” and “tasteless.”

While some people did say the joke was funny, another fan called his comment “cringeworthy,” and another theorized that the show “may get letters” because of what he said.

A rep for Ken Jennings did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment.

“Ken Jennings made another wheelchair joke on jeopardy tonight lol,” another person wrote, which was a reference to a previous controversy that the former champion experienced years ago.

In 2014, he wrote in a since-deleted tweet, “Nothing sadder than a hot person in a wheelchair.”

It didn’t get a lot of attention at the time, but it resurfaced in 2018, and Jennings responded to the backlash, writing, “I never did a public flogging thing for this but I did apologize personally to angry/hurt people who reached out personally. It was a joke so inept that it meant something very different in my head & I regret the ableist plain reading of it!”

In 2020, after it was announced that he would step in as an interim host following the death of Alex Trebek, it resurfaced again, along with some other questionable comments he had made in the past, and Jennings issued a more in depth apology.

“Hey, I just wanted to own up to the fact that over the years on Twitter, I’ve definitely tweeted some unartful and insensitive things. Sometimes they worked as jokes in my head, and I was dismayed to see how they read on screen,” he began.

“In the past, I’d usually leave bad tweets up just so they could be dunked on. At least that way they could lead to smart replies and even advocacy. Deleting them felt like whitewashing a mistake. But I think that practice may have given the impression I stand by every failed joke I’ve ever posted here. Not at all!”

He added, “Sometimes I said dumb things in a dumb way, and I want to apologize to people who were (rightfully!) offended. It wasn’t my intention to hurt anyone, but that doesn’t matter: I screwed up, and I’m truly sorry.”
