‘The Voice’ Season 27 Dropped a Major “Plot Twist” That Changes Everything Ahead of the Live Shows

The NBC series is heading to the live shows … possibly with more singers than folks expected.

preview for Everything You Need to Know About “The Voice”

We’re so close to finding out the winner of The Voice season 27 … but it looks like the show has one more surprise up its sleeve!

The hit NBC series is heading into the live shows on May 12, and it’s been some time since The Voice dropped a bombshell for contestants and coaches alike. Well, host Carson Daly decided on the May 5 episode that now would be a good time to share a massive plot twist that’ll affect the rest of the season.

Looking at season 27 coaches Kelsea Ballerini, Adam Levine, Michael Bublé and John Legend, Carson dropped the bombshell about a new rule ahead of the live shows called the “Super Save.” While the upcoming episode is supposed to only have the Top 8 compete, Carson shared that each coach now has the opportunity to bring one more artist with them to the final stage of the competition. Meaning: instead of just eight hopefuls singing on the upcoming May 12 episode, there will now be 12 performers hoping to gain votes from audiences in-studio and at home.

“We’ve always intended to keep the best artists on this show for the longest amount of time,” Carson teased to the quartet, per NBC Insider. “We’re going to allow each of you to bring back one more artist for the Top 8 live shows … the super-save is on.”

Upon hearing this incredible news, it didn’t take long before John, Michael and Kelsea voiced their immense surprise about what’s to come.

“Have you realized the stress you unnecessarily put on us?” John responded in shock. “They didn’t tell me I was going to be able to pick three all along!”

“How did you keep this secret?” Michael exclaimed.

“I’m overstimulated,” Kelsea added. “We love a good plot twist.”

Now, as of right now, folks have the opportunity to see Adam David, Jadyn Cree, Renso, Bryson Battle, Iris Herrera, Alanna Lynise, Lucia Flores-Wiseman and Kolby Cordall all try to become the next winner of The Voice. But after this unexpected move, we’ll have to tune in and see if any of our past favorite contestants will be back for one final shot at music stardom!

BTW, it looks like the coaches are excited to get more time with some past artists they had to say goodbye to. “[It’s] pretty awesome we get to do this,” Adam noted. “I love giving someone another opportunity.”

Well, we’ll be sure to keep an eye out for those familiar faces!

Sonofrio Vasquez won Season 26 with Coach Michael Bublé

Not only was this the first at-bat for Bublé, who only joined the Coaches last season, it was the first time a Filipino-American Artist had won the competition. Speaking exclusively to NBC Insider, the pair beamed with pride recalling how much Vasquez’s win meant to the Southeast Asian community.

“There is a whole country watching this like a Super Bowl, no joke,” Bublé said with pride. “And what’s more interesting is that it wasn’t just the Philippines. It was Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, people in China. There were people everywhere that saw themselves in this kid and it’s very cool. He can’t believe it.”

“I know how much work he put into making sure that every move was thought out. I know, because this is what I do. I knew what it meant to him, and I could tell by the work ethic, the ambition and God-given talent that this was gonna happen for him,” Bublé added of their journey together.

“I put my trust in him,” Vasquez said of his Coach. “I don’t know where am I going tonight, but tomorrow, probably I’m gonna call him just asking that.”

“I think it lands some more in faith,” Bublé predicted of Vasquez’s future sound. “I think he’s a soul singer honestly. When you go look at somebody like Bruno Mars, or Adele, they are people that sing pop music, but it has that edge of a little gospel, a little soul. I think that’s a really exciting thing for a young guy like this to start finding. And by the way, I’m still finding myself. And it’s such a cool way to grow as an artist.”

Kristi Noem: This is illegal migrants' opportunity to do things the right way

The Washington, D.C., restaurant belonging to the husband of CBS News anchor Norah O’Donnell was raided by ICE on Tuesday.

A local D.C. Fox affiliate reported that ICE agents went into the Chef Geoff’s restaurant on Tuesday morning and asked to see staff members’ I-9 forms proving they are legally allowed to work in the U.S. The visit reportedly sent staff into “a panic.”

Chef Geoff’s is owned by Geoff Tracy, who is married to the longtime CBS News anchor and correspondent.

Norah O'Donnell and Chef Geoff split image

According to Fox 5, “Nearly a dozen law enforcement and immigration officials wearing DHS uniforms” went into the restaurant located on New Mexico Avenue, Northwest.

The agents were at Tracy’s restaurant for around 90 minutes, though no one was taken into custody.

The ICE stop-ins have occurred at multiple D.C. restaurants in recent days. The outlet reported that restaurants in Dupont Circle and Columbia Heights have been visited by ICE agents, as well.

Millie’s — a restaurant near D.C.’s Massachusetts Avenue — told Fox 5 that seven agents entered the restaurant on Tuesday, as well, demanding to see I-9 forms. According to staff, the agents had a warrant that was signed by another ICE agent, not a judge.

    ICE HQ

In a statement to The Washingtonian, Millie’s owner, Bob Blair, recalled that the agents “all came in all of the public entrances at the same time.”

Blair slammed the government inspections, saying, “We were under the impression that they were focusing on trying to find criminals. And this is just a whole new level of harassment to our hard-working, law-abiding employees.”

D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser weighed in on the raids, telling the outlet, “I have heard those reports. I’ve been getting them all morning. I am disturbed by them. It appears as though ICE is at restaurants, or even at neighborhoods, and it doesn’t look like they’re targeting criminals, and it does look like they’re disrupting.”

Bowser added that D.C. law enforcement is in no way involved with the raids.

An ICE spokesperson confirmed to Fox News Digital on Wednesday that these operations are being conducted around the country. In a statement, the official said, “U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement Homeland Security Investigations is conducting worksite enforcement across the nation to ensure businesses are following U.S. immigration and employment laws.  This includes recent worksite enforcement operations [in] the D.C. area, during which more than 100 Notice of Inspections were served to local employers at various business. No arrests were made as part of these worksite enforcement operations.”

The raids come as President Donald Trump’s administration remains committed to deporting illegal immigrants from the country.

Trump is also suing O’Donnell’s employer, allegedly that CBS deceptively edited a 2024 interview with former Vice President Kamala Harris to aid her presidential campaign.

CBS and Chef Geoff’s did not immediately reply to Fox News Digital’s request for comment.

Fox News’ Cameron Arcand Bill Melugin contributed to this report.

Discover the Surprising Secrets Behind Her Iconic “Wheel of Fortune” Life! Ever wondered what really goes on behind the glittering letters and dazzling gowns? Now, Vanna White is finally ready to share the captivating and often unexpected stories that have defined her extraordinary life.

If Vanna White hadn’t become a star on Wheel of Fortune, she’d probably be working in real estate! “Before all those HGTV shows came out, I would buy a little condo, fix it up, and flip it,” she exclusively tells Closer. “I would be the OG!”

Of course, Vanna has been a fixture on television for the past 40 years, and she admits that even as a little girl she wanted to be famous. The South Carolina-reared letter turner got her start in beauty pageants and modeling before heading out to California. She made her first appearance on a television game show on The Price Is Right two years before interviewing for Wheel. “I was so nervous because I wanted the job so badly,” Vanna recalls. “I could hardly talk. My mouth was quivering so much. My teeth were chattering.” Sometime later, she asked Wheel’s creator, the legendary producer Merv Griffin, why he chose her. “He said, ‘You turned the letters better than anyone else,’” she says.

Vanna finds it ironic that Merv also gave current Wheel host Ryan Seacrest his big break in show business. That’s just one of the things she and Ryan have bonded over since they began working together last fall. “He’s another southern boy. I’m a southern girl,” Vanna says. “So, we have a lot in common. We both like chicken and dumplings. That was one of our first meals together.” She confides that Ryan has stepped up to former host Pat Sajak’s podium with humility and a positive attitude. “Ryan has made it easy, and he always said, ‘I am not replacing Pat Sajak. I’m just stepping in,’” she says.

Over the years, Vanna has met a lot of stars — and a few of them left her in awe. “I was starstruck by Stevie Wonder,” she remembers. “I was sitting in the makeup chair, and he walked into the room. And I just was like, ‘Wow, it’s Stevie Wonder.’ And another one was Mr. Rogers — he was the sweetest, sweetest man. And one more. It was Mickey Mantle.”

Vanna also feels a real connection to Wheel’s audience and her fans believe they know everything there is about this divorced mom of two. But Vanna insists that off-set, she is not the glamour girl she appears on the show. “I’m a very natural person with no makeup, flip-flops and hair in a ponytail,” she says about her off-duty look. If she’s going out, she might dab on a little bronzer. “Just to give me a little color because I don’t really go in the sun,” she says.

She attributes much of her good fortune to the confidence her family instilled in her. “My parents said, ‘Always be yourself. Don’t ever change.’ So, I think that that grounded me,” she says, adding that it also helped to have memorable name. “My grandmother’s next-door neighbor was named Vanna. My mother named me after her,” she says. “Growing up, people pronounced my name wrong all the time. Vanya, Vana? No, it’s Vanna. The most important thing for me was having an unusual name.”

‘Wheel of Fortune’ Fans Blast Ryan Seacrest’s ‘Distracting’ and ‘Bizarre’ Fashion

Ryan Seacrest’s hosting may have won over Wheel of Fortune fans, but some aren’t digging his fashion sense.

A Reddit thread revealed that many fans of the beloved game show are calling for the 50-year-old to get a “new stylist.”

The post offered up an example from one of his latest appearances, writing, “A double breasted black jacket with a bright red polo??? Such bizarre clothing choices”

Wheel watchers seemed in agreement in the comment section, as one stated they were “waiting for this post.”

“I told my family… SURELY the fine people in the wof subreddit will validate me!! I don’t get his choices recently at all, but this might have been the worst thing he’s worn yet,” one wrote.

Another took issue with the recent fashion trend he’s adopted, noting, “I really hate the polos under these jackets he keeps doin. 🤷‍♂️”

Others seemed to feel the same, as one pointed out, “I was thrown off by this outfit as well. Very distracting,” while another added, “I came here to make this exact post but with tonight’s outfit. I’ll refrain since there is already discussion here. It is terrible. It appears they are mixing and matching things that should not be mixed and do not match”

Someone else hailed former host Pat Sajak as “seriously one of the best dressed men on TV,” adding that his suits were always perfectly tailored, as another simply stated, “Pat would never.”

While many agreed that Seacrest’s outfits weren’t doing him any favors, plenty pointed out that he’s there to host the show and “he is actually doing a great job.”

“I agree I like him as a host! I’m just confused by his style lol,” someone else noted.

“Some looks work and some don’t,” another defended, adding, “It really is not that big of deal!”

The American Idol host had a few supporters in his corner, too, as one declared, “I love his clothes. They are casual and fun Good-bye old man stuffy suits,” with another stating, “He still wears suits and ties occasionally. He looks nice in them. But I also like most of his casual outfits.”

Maybe Seacrest can get some pointers from co-host VannaWhite, whose impeccable style has been turning heads for over 45 years.

After Slater Nalley forgot the words to the song he was singing on the Sunday, May 11, episode of American Idol, host Ryan Seacrest offered him some comforting assurance by revealing that he’s had similar flubs on live shows in the past.

“I’ve stood here and said, ‘Welcome back to Wheel of Fortune,’” Seacrest noted, referring to the other show he hosts, adding that it’s the “wrong show.”

Slater recovered from his lyric mishap and finished his performance of “Can You Feel the Love Tonight” from The Lion King. He also received a comforting message from judge Luke Bryan, who told him, “You’ve done what we’ve all done. Right before you gotta sing, you go blank. We’ve all done it. But man, what a recover from that. Not to expose you, but I want you to just understand that stuff happens. I’ve done it on awards shows and hard pressure moments. Way to recover and great job on the finish.”
The teenager didn’t seem to let the mistake get him down and he kept his head high as he left the stage to prepare for another performance later on in the show. He is one of seven artists left in the competition, but at the end of the episode, two will be eliminated based on America’s votes.

Ahead of his stint on Wheel, Seacrest gushed over how excited he was to join the show. “I mean, it’s Wheel of Fortune, how could you not be happy?” he said on Good Morning America. “It’s energetic, it’s positive, it’s fun. I’m so excited.”

After more than 17 years as host of The Price Is Right, Drew Carey has gotten a good handle on all the games that the show has to offer. While he said he gets “excited” to see contestants play all of the games, he acknowledges that there are a few tough ones on the list.

“There’s a couple games where I’m like, ‘Oh, they’re going to have a tough time,’” Carey told TV Insider. “Because there’s a couple games that are really hard to win. Stack the Deck is notorious amongst fans for how hard it is to win. There’s another one called That’s Too Much that has a low win rate. So when I see those, I’m like, ‘Oh man, you’re stuck with a tough one.’”

In Stack the Deck, players are shown seven playing cards with five of the numbers making up the price of a car. Then, three pairs of grocery items are put up on display and the contestant has to guess which item in each of the pairs corresponds to a given price. One correct digit is filled in for the price of the car for every correct guess of the grocery prices. Once guesses are made for all three pairs, the contestant can win the car if they fill in the remaining digits correctly.

That’s Too Much is also played for a car, with contestants being shown 10 possible prices for the vehicle in ascending order. The prices are shown one at a time, and if the contestant can correctly identify the first price shown that’s higher than the actual price by calling out, “That’s too much,” then they win the car.

The Price Is Right fans call out show's claim contestant played 'one of the hardest games'

One of the games that Carey likes to see contestants play is Cliff Hangers. “Even though the money on Cliff Hangers isn’t great compared to the other pricing games we have – you don’t get a car if you’re playing Cliffhangers or anything like that, but it’s totally winnable,” he says. “Like, nobody should ever lose Cliff Hangers that watches the show. There’s a couple other games that are so easy, or 50/50 chance, or just pick one number or the other.”

In Cliff Hangers, contestants are shown a gameboard with a mountain slope that’s divided into 25 steps. There’s a climber figure at the base and a cliff at the top of the mountain. One at a time, the contestant has to guess the retail prices of three prizes. Every dollar that the contestant is off, the climber moves one step up the 25-step slope. The correct price is revealed once the climber stops or falls off the cliff, and the player wins all three prizes and a larger prize if the total of their errors on all three of the guesses is no more than $25.

The Price Is Right was disrupted on Thursday, May 8, when news broke that the Vatican selected a new pope. The game show cut out in the middle of an episode when white smoke blew out of the Sistine Chapel in Italy, where the cardinals voted on the pontiff.

The first American Pope, Cardinal Robert Francis Prevost, took the name Pope Leo XIV, as he was elected the 267th pontiff of the Catholic Church. Born in Chicago, Illinois, Prevost attended Villanova University in Pennsylvania, where he studied mathematics. He also did missionary work in Peru for a few years.

After the telecast was interrupted by the white smoke, the coverage continued as Pope Leo XIV walked out onto the balcony and gave a speech. Fans never got to see the rest of the episode. However, if they have a Paramount+ subscription, the episode was uploaded there on Friday, May 9.

The Price is Right' Host Drew Carey Shoutouts Audience Member Who Yelled Loudly

There are only two other instances in recent history where a pontiff was elected after only two days of voting. The first was for Pope Benedict XVI in 2005 and the second was for Pope Francis in 2013, whom Leo succeeded. Francis died on Easter Monday at the age of 88.

“There went the show,” a Reddit user posted. “Papal conclave. Seriously?”

The reactions that followed were hilarious.

“What I love about this sub is that no world event is ever big enough to justify the preemption of The Price is Right,” one fan said.

“‘Aliens have begun their invasion’… ‘DONT CARE’,” a fan joked, replying to the previous commenter.

“Leo XIV, come on dooowwwnnn!” wrote another.

“You’re the next contestant on the Pious is Righteous!” a Reddit user replied to them.

“Can’t [sic] believe they preempt for this s**t,” another commented.

“Go ahead and film one episode live at the Vatican? ‘Show him the next item up for bid:’ ‘A new Popemobile!’ ‘How much do you bid on this golden chalice?’” another joked.

One fan said they should rename The Price Is Right to The Pope Is Right.

“Too bad they can’t split the screen, so we can still watch TPIR. I’d take a half of a screen vs no screen!” one fan suggested.

A ‘Price Is Right’ Contestant Broke the Game — Then Blames Drew Carey

    This-Is-the-Most-Expensive-Prize-on-‘The-Price-Is-Right’

In the unpredictable world of game shows, anything that can go wrong usually does—and The Price Is Right is no exception. From wardrobe malfunctions to on-stage car crashes, Murphy’s Law is practically a featured contestant. But on the March 2025 episode, one Hawaii contestant’s blunder wasn’t just bad luck—it sparked a viral moment when she pinned the blame squarely on host Drew Carey.

Drew Carey Gets Blamed for Switcheroo Boo-Boo

Drew Carey Hosting 'The Price is Right'

Among the Price Is Right contenders called down to Contestant’s Row was Yanira, and she placed the winning bet on a pair of 128 GB smartphones, coming closest with a bid of $1,000 to the retail price of $1,398. She took her place beside Carey on stage, where it was revealed she would be playing Switcheroo, a game introduced in October 1976. The object of the game is to place five numbered blocks on the board to match the retail price of a car and four other prizes, each missing one digit. If the first guess isn’t correct, the contestant is allowed to “switcheroo” the numbers in a second effort at guessing the correct prices, within 30 seconds.

    The-10-Best-Game-Shows-of-the-1970s,-Ranked

The list of prizes Yanira had to price included a bright red car, a refillable fire extinguisher, a heavy-duty water-resistant lock box, a dry-erase board with an easel and marker, and a three-tiered water fountain. Easy-peasy. The timer started, and Yanira entered the numbers on time—but then began second-guessing her choices and turned to the audience for help. She turned back to the board and touched the block that was in the fire extinguisher row, and it fell out. As she went to move it back, she uttered, “I broke it.” Carey himself checked it out, saying, “No, you didn’t. Oh yeah, you did.” But as he touched the block, it tumbled to the floor, and as Yanira picked up the number block, she berated the host, saying, “You broke it more!”

No Consolation Prize for Yanira on ‘The Price Is Right’

If you’re trying to win big prizes on a game show, blaming the host for a misstep probably isn’t the smartest move—that’s what social media is for. But Carey took it in stride, chuckling along with the audience and propping up the block as best he could, saying, “We’ll pretend that’s where it goes.” With the first round crisis averted, it was revealed that only two of the five numbers were in the correct place, so Yanira prepared herself for the “switcheroo” second round. There were no additional number block disasters—aside from the fact that not a single one ended up in the correct place. After switching them around, Yanira’s guess of $21,779 was just $60 off the actual car price of $21,719. No correct guesses, no prize. Adding insult to injury, spinning a 60 on the Showcase Showdown wheel wasn’t enough to make it to the Showcase Round.

While Yanira’s disastrous turn on The Price is Right is likely to live on in infamy, the usual assortment of social media assassins didn’t rip her to shreds, but rather afforded Yanira some grace. One YouTube user said, “These games are hard,” while many others simply added, “Ouch.” However, it’s unlikely that it gives Yanira any degree of solace from her embarrassing breakdown on national TV. But at least she’s got a nice pair of 128 GB smartphones she could sell off, if she’s so inclined, and buy her own fire extinguisher, lock box, and dry-erase board easel and marker. As for the three-tiered water fountain? If you’re reading this, Yanira, here’s a helpful tip: a three-tiered chocolate fountain makes everything better. Just don’t let Drew Carey put it together for you.

The Price Is Right is on weekdays at 11 a.m. ET/PT on CBS.

The Simpsons Revealed How Lisa And Bart Will Die (And It’s Perfect)

The Simpsons, Lisa reading a heartfelt letter to an emotional BartFox

The latest episode of “The Simpsons,” season 36’s “Stew Lies,’ features an opening storyline between Lisa and Bart that wraps up surprisingly fast. Bart tries to drive Lisa crazy by repeating everything she says, committing hard to the bit even after days, weeks, and months have passed.

At first, Lisa is annoyed, but she decides to use the opportunity to improve Bart’s life. She gets him to learn the saxophone, learn another language, and perform better at school. By the end of the first act, Lisa reads aloud a heartfelt letter to her brother that celebrates their sibling bond, while a moved-to-tears Bart copies along with her.

It’s a storyline so sweet it makes me uncomfortable. (My cold and bitter heart can no longer handle things so pure.) Luckily for the more cynical “Simpsons” fans, this opening Bart/Lisa storyline is quickly scrapped for the main storyline about Homer becoming friends with a Guy Fieri-esque character. When the episode does loop back around to Bart and Lisa, in a surprise mid-credits scene, things are back to being pure silly.

The Simpsons” Aired a Meta 'Series Finale' Episode for Its Season 36 Premiere: How They Pulled It Off (Exclusive)

The mid-credits scene jumps forward 20 years to show adult Lisa Simpson, NASA’s lead astrophysicist, about to enjoy the honor of being the first human to speak directly to aliens. Lisa tries to give the aliens a warm, professional welcome, but adult Bart pops up to start copying her again.

They start arguing, and the aliens (beloved Kang and Kodos) overhear it. They conclude that Earth must be a warlike planet, so they blow it up. As Earth explodes, we hear Lisa yelling “Your fault!” to Bart, and Bart stubbornly repeats it.

Does this ending kind of undermine the heartfelt conclusion Bart and Lisa’s storyline got this week? Sort of, but at least it’s on brand for them to die in a petty sibling squabble. The only issue is that it’s not clear if this counts as “Simpsons” canon.
