8 Biggest Unanswered Questions & Mysteries After The Ghosts Season 4 Finale

Season 4 of Ghosts has wrapped, with some major story line payoffs completed, new characters introduced, and one lost certain thing that took Sasappis over 500 years to lose. Pete and Alberta are charting a new course together, potentially, as the new couple of Woodstone, Isaac and Sam’s book is ready to be published, and Jay’s restaurant, Mahesh, is ready to reopen and getting new publicity, albeit with potentially deadly results.

However, there are multiple unanswered questions and mysteries left from season 4 and before, and us Ghosts fans are ready for some answers in season 5. Heading out of this season, we’re asking, and exploring eight questions and mysteries that still remain at Woodstone Manor, some of which could have consequential, and deadly, ramifications, and could change the landscape of the show entirely.

    How Did Sasappis Die?

When Will We Know What Happened To Him?

Sass and Thor celebrating in Ghosts(1)

Outside of being one of the oldest (known) ghosts on the property of Woodstone Manor, Sasappis is also the last spirit that we do not have the definitive story on his death. With Hetty’s major reveal in season 3 during the search for the missing Flower, Sasappis remains the last holdout on death explanation, and while he’s now officially lost the one thing he had waited 500 years to do, we still have more questions than answers.

With almost all the spirits having revealed their fates and their demises early, save for Hetty’s reveal in season 3 and the mystery of Alberta’s death that drove fully through season 2, and while it feels like we’re overdue for this explanation, it’s possible that the story becomes another driver through season 5, or even season 6. Sasappis’ death story could be utilized as a vehicle to continue his new relationship with Joan, the other ghost who can cross the boundaries for an indefinite period of time.

Will We See Chris, The Parachuting Stripper, Again?

Last Seen Leaving Woodstone By Parachute

Chris with parachute behind him in Ghosts season 4 episode 16

The newest spirit on the Woodstone grounds, Chris, was the catalyst for Isaac leaving Nigel at the altar at the end of season 3, as Isaac felt he needed to explore his new reality in the afterlife more before he committed to someone for (literal) eternity. After Chris died by crashing through the roof of Mahesh after Sam set him up to be the bachelorette party’s stripper in episode 15, Isaac finds that he has less in common with Chris than he thought, with Chris eventually taking off into the sky to see the world in the afterlife.

Chris was a central point in the demise of Isaac and Nigel’s relationship, and Nigel seemed to take great pleasure in seeing Chris attach to him more than Isaac, but their stories still feel incomplete, especially as Chris is also bound to the boundaries of Woodstone, even with his parachute allowing him to fly freely in the sky.

Will Carol Interfere With Pete and Alberta?

A New Love Triangle – Flower Will Be Happy

Alberta and Pete kiss in Ghosts season 4 finale(1)

The biggest secondary story line in season 4 was the love story between Pete and Alberta, and in a “will they, won’t they” plot line, their feelings for each other were finally revealed, and the two shared a kiss at the end of the episode. Although the ending of the story didn’t go exactly the way we thought it would, it’s still the completion of a season-long story that brought the characters together for more sparks to fly through season 5.

Carol, Pete’s unfaithful wife who has an affinity for donut holes, died on the grounds of Woodstone after choking on hard candy during episode 4 of season 3, and while she was unfaithful to Pete in life, her feelings for him could be rekindled seeing him happy and building a new (after)life with someone else. She wasn’t featured in a major way through season 4, but the potential is there to see Carol playing a part in this romance story in season 5, and the gloves would be off for the love and affection of Woodstone’s leading bachelor.

Who Else Is In The Dirt?

Could There Be Anyone Else More Terrifying Than Patience?

    Patience in the Ghosts finale

During episode 1 of season 4, a new character was introduced: Patience, the Puritan who was left behind in the dirt for hundreds of years after Isaac sneezed and went to cover his mouth, losing her in “the dirt” in the process. When she re-emerged, the basement ghosts offered Isaac to her at the end of season 3, not realizing that she’d take him hostage into the dirt, and set up the first major driving plot point for season 4.

Patience indicated that she’d returned to the dirt “with the others,” startling the other spirits who perhaps did not realize that there were others in the ground who had yet to find their way out. Teasing that there are other spirits on the property, ones with the potential to be more terrifying than Patience herself, will likely be part of the season 5 build, especially after her embarrassing exit from Sam and Isaac’s book launch party.

What Will Patience’s Revenge Look Like?

She Waited A Long Time For Isaac, Jay Should Be Worried

Patience wasted no time showing the rest of Woodstone’s inhabitants that she meant business, and after making it super weird for Sam’s parents in episode 2, she promised to return to the dirt, only to return to try and stop the “evil” of the book launch party. After Jay thought quickly and turned her ghost power – making the wall bleed – into something that seemed like part of the show, she stormed out of the restaurant angrily, possibly to return for another lesson next season.

Patience is no stranger to revenge, waiting hundreds of years to exact hers on Isaac who inadvertently left her behind in the dirt, so it’s not out of the whim of the possibility that she will be back to make everyone pay. As we find out during the shocking conclusion of the season finale, Jay has sold his soul to the devil by signing Elias Woodstone’s “publicist contract”. Patience could be swayed by Elias in her quest to undo Jay’s wrongs towards her, but it’s more likely she’ll bring the inhabitants from the dirt with her, whoever they might be.

Can Jay Save Himself From Elias?

Speaking Of Jay Being Worried, How Did He Not Read The Contract?

    ghosts 1

Jay made a major mistake at the end of season 4, signing a contract (apparently without reading it) that sold his soul to Elias Woodstone, and effectively the Devil, in exchange for major publicity for his restaurant, Mahesh. Elias has shown to the other ghosts that he got the soul he said he would, and now the spirits and Sam have to find a way to save Jay before it’s too late.

At present, it doesn’t appear that Jay has a way out of this agreement with Elias, and his soul is now firmly secured for the Devil, and our wayward travelers will have to think quickly and efficiently through season 5 if they want to bail Jay out of this mess. Whether they can find a way to void the contract, or one of them sacrifices themselves in place of Jay, season 5 will be a perilous one for him until they can find a workaround or a way out, hopefully before it’s too late.

    What If Jay Actually Dies?

Could Set Up An Interesting Story Arc Through The Season

Utkarsh Ambudkar's Jay looking concerned in a restaurant kitchen from Ghosts season 4 episode 21

As the spirits and Sam work to undo what Jay has done, Elias has already told Jay that his time is limited, trying to kill him with a chandelier at the end of the season finale. It’s entirely possible that they will find a way to make it happen and save him in the nick of time… but what if they can’t, and Elias does succeed in killing Jay?

A swerve of some kind to take Jay’s soul without killing him off for good would make for an interesting story arc, hopefully one that involves Pete this time around.

Fans would likely rejoice that Pete and Jay finally saw each other, as Jay missed out on meeting Pete when he possessed Jay’s body in episodes 8 and 9, but the joy would be short-lived with the reminder and remembrance that Jay is actually dead, for good. While it’s unlikely that this is the outcome we’ll see with season 6 in tow, a swerve of some kind to take Jay’s soul without killing him off for good would make for an interesting story arc, hopefully one that involves Pete this time around.

Are The Main Ghosts Ever Going To Get Sucked Off?

No One Has Transitioned Since Season 3 (If We’re Not Counting The Snail)

The ghosts of Woodstone Manor have all been, for one reason or another, trapped in this level of Purgatory that doesn’t allow them to move on into the afterlife, and their ultimate goal throughout the series is to eventually transition out of eternity on the property. As we’ve only seen two ancillary characters get sucked off into the afterlife, we haven’t seen any of the main ghosts come close to this opportunity, and it seems overdue for some of them.

In this season, the most obvious choice for the suck off would be Trevor, who not only forgave himself for leaving his dog, Bucky, behind, but also found out that he was a father, and that his daughter was raised by the man who Trevor gave his pants and boxers on the night he died. Other ghosts on the property have the opportunity to move on as well, but if we continue to see growth for the characters in the way Trevor experienced in season 4, we may see the transition of one of the main ghosts to their final eternal resting place.

The CBS supernatural comedy series Ghosts returned for its fourth season, and has been renewed for Seasons 5 and 6. Based on the British show of the same name, Ghosts follows married couple Jay and Sam as they pursue their dreams of opening a B&B in upstate New York. However, after an accident, Sam finds that she can see the various spirits that haunt the property and becomes their only conduit to the world of the living. Ghosts goes above and beyond most sitcoms by blending heartfelt humor with its clever premise.

Debuting in 2021, Ghosts has earned high marks from critics, and each season has scored above 90% on Rotten Tomatoes, including an elusive 100% for season 2. Seasons 3 and 4 added new wrinkles to the ghost/human dynamics and explored the backstory of the ghosts. With Season 4 continuing the show’s hot streak, it seems like a foregone conclusion that CBS will continue to conjure up new seasons of Ghosts.

    Ghosts Season 4 Critical Reception

Season 4 Mostly Continues The Show’s Positive Reception

Sam looks at Jay with a sad and scared expression in Ghosts

While Ghosts is first and foremost a sitcom, not all of the praise for the show comes from its situational comedy. Critics have called the show “charmingly quirky,” but its heart often lies in how the series allows its characters to grow – even from beyond the grave. As Collider notes in their review of the early episodes of Ghosts Season 4, the show manages to keep its quirky charm intact while introducing new layers of complexity and hinting at a lot more growth to come.” Likewise, Paste Magazine gave those early season episodes a 9 out of 10 for bringing in a “legitimately scary ghost” into the otherwise cozy series.

Much of the intrigue is seeing the ghosts learn from their past mistakes, even though they are already dead. It’s also in seeing new connections form among the dead and the living, which Season 4 made good use of. Of course, by the end of the season, some of that growth is thrown out the window. Screen Rant’s own review of the season finale notes that it is a “disappointing ending for the spirits” as not much headway is made on their individual storylines by the end of the season.

Where To Watch Ghosts Season 4

Ghosts Season 4 Is Available To Stream

While episodes of Ghosts Season 4 are available to rent or purchase from digital retailers like AppleTV, the series is also available to stream. Like most of the CBS network’s primetime lineup, Ghosts is available to stream in its entirety on Paramount+. Throughout the season, Paramount+ made new episodes available to stream the day after they aired on television, but with Season 4 ending its run, all episodes of the series are now available to subscribers.

Ghosts season 4 concluded on May 8, 2025.

    Ghosts Season 4 Cast

Sam, Jay & The Ghosts Return

The previous season’s main cast of Ghosts returned to reprise their roles in Season 4. Season 3’s premiere saw the hippie ghost, Flower, seemingly move on to the other side, but she was eventually found trapped in the well on the Woodstone property. Even when the audience thinks one of the ghost characters might be gone, they return. Along with the ghosts, fans saw the return of Rose McIver as the ever-chipper Sam and Utkarsh Ambudkar as her skeptical but supportive husband Jay.

The cast of season 4 is already growing with the addition of actor and comedian Mary Holland as the Puritan ghost, Patience, who exacted her revenge against Isaac in the season 3 finale. Also joining the ensemble is Breaking Bad alum Dean Norris as Samantha’s father.

The entire cast of Ghosts season 4 includes:

Superstore’s Ben Feldman also appeared as a guest star late in Season 4. Feldman’s Kyle, like Sam, can also communicate with ghosts. His presence in the show has led many fans to hope he reappears in Ghosts Season 5.

    Ghosts Season 4 Story

What Happens At The Woodstone Mansion

Rose McIver's Sam entering a room and looking shocked in CBS Ghosts

Ghosts has done an excellent job of wrapping up storylines by the end of each season while also dropping a few shocking twists to keep audiences invested. As such, the ending of Ghosts season 3 was downright terrifying as Isaac was snatched through the basement wall by the pilgrim ghost who had gone mad while wandering alone in the ground for centuries. As with Flower’s lengthy absence in season 3, Isaac was missing for a time as the gang tried to retrieve him.

Season 4 has continued to expand the backstories of the ghosts while also expanding the stories of Sam and Jay’s families. Meanwhile, Sam and Jay continued to get the B&B off the ground while dealing with the various problems that come along with living among a host of needy ghosts. Ghosts works so well because the story possibilities are limitless.

While the series largely follows a story of the week format, Season 4 explored the idea of Jay and Sam not fully connecting because of Jay not being able to see the ghosts himself. The couple finally discussed their frustrations with having the ghosts between them this season, an argument that had likely been brewing since the first season.

Ghosts Season 4 Ending Explained And Spoilers

Season 4’s Finale Focuses On Non-Ghostly Stories

Elias handing a pen to Jay in Ghosts

The Ghosts Season 4 finale placed the focus fairly on one very human part of the show’s storyline: Sam publishing her book. Of course, because the show revolves around Sam’s relationship with ghosts, her book could not finally be published without a few ghostly hijinks.

When Patience believes she senses evil in the house as a result of Sam’s vampire novel inspired by Isaac, Patience seeks it out. The other resident ghosts decide to thwart her attempts to find the book, which leads to plenty of comedy. While fans speculated that the series would see Patience “sucked off” to the afterlife, that did not happen, and surprisingly, the series opted not to send any of the ghosts into the great beyond in the Season 4 finale.

The ghostly storylines also tied into Jay’s life, or more accurately, his afterlife. Elias made a trip back to the land of the living, posing as a manager and tricking Jay. It’s left up in the air as to whether Jay may have signed over his soul to Elias, leading to him spending eternity in Hell, or not.

How The Ghosts Season 4 Finale Sets Up Season 5

The Season 4 Finale Pushes Jay Into The Spotlight

Utkarsh Ambudkar's Jay looking concerned in a restaurant kitchen from Ghosts season 4 episode 21

One of the biggest complaints concerning Ghosts is that, although Jay gets to bring a lot of comedy to the table by not completely understanding what is going on with the ghosts, Jay often gets pushed to the side in the stories. Without being able to directly interact with the ghosts, he is often relegated to being a supporting player in the story of his and his wife’s efforts at the B&B. Because of the cliffhanger ending to Ghosts Season 4, Season 5 will likely put Jay more in the spotlight.

Already in Season 4, Jay has been able to air his grievances, and the audience has been able to understand more of his point of view when it comes to the ghosts. Jay could have a potentially darker fate than any of the ghosts if it turns out he signed his soul over to Elias. It is likely the audience will see more of Elias and Jay’s story in Ghosts Season 5.

    ABC

Get ready for a supersized edition of Will Trent when Tuesday’s (May 13) Season 3 finale, “Listening to a Heartbeat,” arrives next week.

The penultimate episode ended on a cliffhanger as the domestic terrorist whom Will (Ramón Rodríguez), Faith (Iantha Richardson), and Will’s surprise father Sheriff Caleb Broussard (Yul Vazquez) tracked down promised his work had only just begun. Lo, in the final shot, the hospital where Michael Ormewood (Jake McLaughlin) and Nico (Cora Lu Tran) were at began filling up and went on lockdown with them and Dr. Seth (Scott Foley) stuck inside.

“As our line producer has reminded us many times, this is the biggest episode that we have ever undertaken, just in terms of resources that we’re putting into it,” executive producer Daniel T. Thomsen told TV Insider of the finale. “It really does feel like an action movie. And so I think that what we’re trying to do is give people an event episode of Will Trent that we have not done before in three seasons.”

The scale of the episode isn’t just limited to the action sequences, either. There are also some massive emotional components in play, including with Will finding out about his father and, of course, Angie’s (Erika Christensen) unexpected pregnancy with Seth.

Why 'Will Trent' Is Still Going Strong in Season 3

Thomsen explained that while he and co-creator Liz Heldens were devising the action-packed finale, they intended to make it massive “without losing the emotional connection to those characters and [while] making sure that, even though the entire city is in jeopardy and lives are in the balance, that there’s also plenty of opportunities so often feel.”

The official logline for Season 3’s finale reads, “Unleashed by a domestic terrorist group, a mysterious biological attack runs rampant in Atlanta. As Will and his team race to contain the threat and save countless lives, he’s forced to confront the complex dynamics of his own family.”

We’ll find out soon how all of these threads come together when Will Trent‘s Season 3 finale airs next week! (As a bonus, if and when any cliffhangers emerge in the finale, fans can rest easy that the show has already been renewed to return for Season 4 on ABC.)

Ramón Rodríguez as Will Trent in Episode 1 of Season 2 of ABC's Will Trent

After a roller-coaster 18 episodes that saw Ramon Rodriguez’s titular Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) detective face personal and professional chaos with little to no respite, ABC’s smash-hit procedural drama Will Trent is waving goodbye to its third season in explosive, or perhaps infectious, fashion. Following the most recent Episode 17, “Why Hello, Sheriff,” in which Severance star Yul Vazquez made Will’s life hell as the episode’s titular Sheriff Caleb, a role reported to be carrying on into Season 4 of the procedural, the promo for the finale has officially been released, and it seems our hero is about to face his difficult past once again.

Titled “Listening to a Heartbeat,” the upcoming season finale is set to place Will and the rest of Atlanta in terrifying danger at the hands of biochemical terrorist warfare. Prepare to return to the nightmare of 2020 as a lockdown is introduced, attempting to thwart the threat of the fast-spreading virus. After the governor declares a state of emergency and panic ensues, it’s up to Will and co to fit the pieces of this chaotic puzzle together and save the day. However, as revealed in the synopsis, it seems as if Will needs to take care of his own personal troubles related to his biological father, perhaps distracting him from the city-threatening danger at large. The official synopsis for the Season 3 finale reads:

“Unleashed by a domestic terrorist group, a mysterious biological attack runs rampant in Atlanta. As Will and his team race to contain the threat and save countless lives, he’s forced to confront the complex dynamics of his own family.”

Ramon Rodriguez Promises a “Very Exciting” Season 3 Finale

If the promo and the synopsis weren’t enough to get you hyped for the upcoming Will Trent Season 3 finale, then the man himself should help tip you into hot anticipation. Speaking to TV Insider about the finale, Rodriguez teased, “It’s very exciting. It comes to a really big — it comes to a head. A lot of things come to a head. The interesting thing — in addition to Will still processing and dealing with what happened with Marco, which will continue — there’s going to be some other personal things that come up for Will that are really exciting and that hopefully lead us to a really fun Season 4.” He later added, “I think it’s going to leave people definitely excited, wanting to see what happens next.” How this terrifying ordeal will play out remains to be seen, but it will surely impact the future of the show in its entirety.

The Will Trent finale airs on Tuesday, May 13, 2025. Stay tuned to Collider for more updates on your favorite shows.

Reba McEntire‘s NBC sitcom Happy’s Place has already had several Reba alums on the show — and JoAnna Garcia Swisher is “definitely” next.

“JoAnna is so busy. She’s producing, she’s got three movies and she’s [working on] Sweet Magnolias. So she is a very busy lady but she said she’d definitely be there,” McEntire, 70, exclusively confirmed to Us Weekly in Nashville, while filming a series of sitcom-inspired ads for Realtor.com’s “Nearly Home” campaign.

McEntire was thrilled at how many of her former costars already found the time to make an appearance, adding, “Melissa Peterman, JoAnna and Steve Howey have been very busy. To get to bring Steve in already for our Christmas episode and to bring Chris [Rich] back in — that was the most special.”

Happy’s Place, which premiered in October 2024 and has already been renewed for season 2, follows Bobbie (McEntire) as she inherits her father’s restaurant and discovers a new business partner in the long-lost half-sister (Belissa Escobedo). Peterman, 53, plays a bartender at the restaurant, while McEntire’s boyfriend, Rex Linn, also appears as tavern cook Emmett.

Which 'Reba' Sitcom Alums Have Appeared on Reba McEntire's 'Happy's Place'?

The sitcom brought McEntire and Peterman back together more than 17 years after their hit series Reba ended its six-year run on The WB. Reba also starred Scarlett Pomers and Mitch Holleman, who have yet to make a cameo on NBC’s sitcom.

“Scarlett as Kyra was just incredibly and comedically gifted. I know we would love to see JoAnna Garcia and I think she just saw Reba recently,” Peterman exclusively told Us in March.“So I hope Reba was like, ‘When you are available?’”

She added, “It would be fun to have any and all Reba participants — whether they’re a cast member or a guest. It would be so much fun, and we would love to have all of them.”

While fans await more casting news, they can see McEntire return to her Reba roots with her Realtor.com’s “Nearly Home” campaign.

“Isn’t that funny that I’m doing this commercial and I was a realtor on Reba? It’s really fitting and I walked into it perfectly,” she told Us. “When [my friend] Dolly [Parton] was there [on an episode of the Reba sitcom with me], that makes it even more special doing this. It brings back memories with [Steve Howey’s character] Van, who was my son-in-law. He was also my partner in our real estate business.”

Reba cast Where Are They Now

McEntire was thrilled to get the chance to help make the home buying and selling process more accessible for people looking for their next house.

“What is so neat about Realtor.com is that you can just get on the app. They’ve got over a half a million new listings every month. I didn’t know about Realtor.com when I moved to Nashville,” she explained. “So in the last 10 years, I’ve had to look for a new home. I wished I’d have had it then.”

McEntire continued: “I love my realtor but I wish I’d have had Realtor.com because that way you could look at the listings and really dive into it.”

“What a cutie picture of your son/family 💞,” one person wrote. “So beautiful!! ❤️,” another exclaimed. “Stunning people, y’all are amazing 🔥🙌❤️,” a different follower replied.

Now, as fans know, Reba is not one to shy away from proclaiming her love for Rex. But as for her relationship with Shelby, she prefers keeping that bond a bit more low-key. But folks did get the chance to see Shelby and Marissa surprise Reba in the best way, at her concert in Connecticut for her 70th birthday.

“She had NO idea we were coming!! 🤯💖,” Marissa wrote while uploading a video of the moment on Instagram back in March. “Watch @reba reaction when @shelbyblackstock @shanetarleton and I surprised her for her 70th birthday at her show in CT! The absolute sweetest moment — who else would cry if they got a surprise like this?! 🥹🎶.”

The singer and actress got personal about the emotional connection she has with the NBC series.

With Happy’s Place coming back for season 2 this fall on NBC, it’s clear people adore Reba McEntire‘s latest venture into the world of sitcom TV. While viewers love to follow the story of a woman and her half-sister running their late father’s Tennessee tavern, it turns out there are some hidden secrets folks likely wouldn’t expect come the next installment.

Reba, who is partnering with Realtor.com on their “Nearly Home” campaign, spoke to Good Housekeeping about the exciting things to come when the series returns. When asked about if there were any personal touches viewers may have not picked up while watching Happy’s Place, the singer and actress (who’s also an executive producer for the show) made a surprise revelation.

She revealed that the tavern actually has secret nods to all the guest stars and extras appearing on camera throughout the episodes — and they show up in a format folks will definitely need to keep an eye out for.

“The thing I love so much about the Happy’s Place set — especially the tavern — is the memorabilia everywhere,” she explained. “The extras and our stand-ins on our team are so good, that we’ll do polaroids of anybody that’s been on set. We then put them up in little strategic places in the tavern so that they can see themselves there … Any kind of final little small touches like that makes everybody feel welcome and a part of the show.”

The former Reba star also noted something special that production designer Glenda Rovello does with her team for the set of Happy’s Place.

Reba stated how she gave Glenda personal photos from her own life to display in her character Bonnie’s late dad’s home. But Reba also realized there were other eclectic pieces around the set that immediately took her back to her own childhood, too.

“In Happy’s house, there was a little box and it had shells all around it,” Reba added. “I looked at it, took a picture of it and sent it to my sisters. I said, ‘Didn’t Mama have a box just like this?’ And [my sister] Alice [Foran] asked, ‘Where’d you get that?’ I said, ‘It’s on the set of Happy’s Place!’ She said there was one in Mama’s house, right there by her sewing machine.”

The beloved crooner showcases new tattoos and nostalgia as he returns to coach on the hit show.

Michael Bublé is back as one of the familiar faces on the latest season of The Voice, and not only has he returned to the big red chairs, but he’s also sporting some new personal ink to celebrate his family. This year, he aims to captivate audiences and contestants alike with his newfound look, as well as reminding everyone of his devotion to his children through his tattoos. The iconic jazz-pop singer, known for hits like “Home” and “Feeling Good,” has marked his love for his family permanently on his body. Bublé, 49, has four tattoos on his left arm representing his children’s names: Noah, Elias, Vida, and Cielo. They are beautifully etched from the base of his wrist to his forearm. The artist humorously documented this newest addition, the name of his 2-year-old daughter, Cielo, through social media last December. “Okay, I’m ready,” Bublé said, playfully winching as the needle approached. “What if we just call her C?” he jested, leaving fans laughing with his light-hearted humor about parenting.

Bublé married Argentine actress and model Luisa Lopilato back in 2011, two years after she starred in his music video for “Haven’t Met You Yet.” Together, they share four children: Noah, 11, Elias, 9, Vida, 6, and Cielo, 2. Their family has become central to Bublé’s identity. His playful remark on social media, “I’ve got enough space for at least six more kids. They will have one syllable names,” showcased just how far his dedication to family extends.

This season, Bublé is the only returning coach from last season, aiming to build on the momentum of his earlier success. The Voice Season 27 premiered on Monday, February 3, airing on NBC, marking the start of what promises to be another thrilling contest of talent. Joining him are fellow veterans Adam Levine and John Legend, along with the season’s newcomer, Kelsea Ballerini, all vying for the best contestants.

At the premiere, Bublé didn’t miss the chance to highlight his amusing side when he shared some old photos of himself. During one particularly memorable moment, he displayed a younger version of himself sporting what he referred to as a “shoulder-length mullet.” This playful tactic was aimed at convincing contestant Ethan Eckenroad to join his team. When Eckenroad delivered a strong audition with Noah Kahan’s “Northern Attitude,” Bublé surely aimed to showcase his personality beyond just being the familiar crooner. “Yo Ethan, I love country. I can even prove to you how much I love country,” he enthusiastically stated as the photo of his mullet flickered onto the screen. Ballerini’s reaction to the image was priceless; the country artist’s jaw dropped, illustrating the cutting-edge shock of Bublé’s transformation.

John Legend took the opportunity to quip, “I told you he was related to Blake [Shelton],” adding some levity to the banter between the judges. This light-hearted competition is something fans recognize from The Voice, where relationships and humor often color the competitive atmosphere. Other judges also pulled out all the stops to secure Eckenroad, with Legend praising the contestant’s poise and soulful voice. Legend noted, “I’m so impressed by your poise, by the soulfulness of your voice, it was just a beautiful experience for us,” emphasizing the competitive camaraderie shared among the judges.

Michael Bublé reveals why he turned down 'The Voice' at least 15 times

While the banter continued between Bublé, Levine, and Legend, the contestants did not go short on humor or charm. Eckenroad’s candid remarks about considering adopting the mullet hairstyle for himself brought alignment with Bublé’s nostalgic tactic, indicating the power of connections through style and comfort during auditions.

The coaching competition on The Voice isn’t just about finding the best voice. For Bublé, it’s also about the emotional threads he weaves through personal stories and shared laughter. The multifaceted roles of being both a father and performer give him unique credibility as he aims to inspire the next generation of musicians. The smoothiest singer’s transition from belting tunes to ink, along with heartwarming family stories, adds layers to his public persona.

And so, as he returns to The Voice, fans can expect much more than just traditional mentoring. Michael Bublé is weaving tales of humor, nostalgia, and family ties, making this season’s competition even more generous and entertaining. The combination of his sincerity, laughter, and those fantastic family tattoos are sure to strike the right chords.

Season 27 of “The Voice” marks Kelsea Ballerini’s debut as a full-time coach — and she’s already making history.

During the Monday, Feb. 3, premiere episode, Ballerini used her “Coach Replay” in a brand new way. Coaches on “The Voice” get only one “Replay” per season, allowing them to recruit a contestant even though they didn’t buzz in and turn their chair around during their blind audition. It’s typically used in situations where none of the coaches turn around. However, Ballerini utilized her “Replay” a bit differently.

The singer-songwriter didn’t hit her buzzer during Dan Kiernan’s performance of “High Hopes” by Panic! At the Disco, but John Legend and Michael Bublé did. As Legend and Bublé tried to convince Kiernan to join their respective teams, Ballerini began to regret her decision.

“I made a mistake. I think you are fantastic,” she told Kiernan before hitting her “Coach Replay” button and throwing her hat in the ring for a chance to be his coach.

Legend pointed out that the “Replay” had “never been used in this way” before.

“Kelsea is the first coach to use the ‘Coach Replay’ to try to steal. It’s … very dirty and underhanded,” Legend joked.

Adam Levine didn’t buzz in for Kiernan, but he did bolster Ballerini’s case by telling him, “I would love to see you with Kelsea.” Kiernan took Levine’s advice and joined the first Team Kelsea in “The Voice” history.

Ballerini rushed on stage to hug Kiernan and apologize for not turning her chair initially.

“All is forgiven,” Kiernan excitedly replied.

In addition to Kiernan, Ballerini recruited Iris Herrera and Angie Rey onto her team during the season 27 premiere. Herrera returned for redemption after getting zero coaches to turn around during her blind audition for season 26 of “The Voice.”

“That’s what it takes to be in music,” Ballerini said of Herrera taking the coaches’ feedback last season and coming back stronger.

“The Voice” airs on NBC on Mondays at 8 p.m. EST. Episodes are available to stream on Peacock the day after they air.
