Blake Shelton Put in The Middle of Wife Gwen Stefani’s Growing Feud With His ‘Voice’ Replacement Reba McEntire: Sources

Rock goddess Gwen Stefani is squaring off with country music legend Reba McEntire to be queen bee on The Voice — and husband Blake Shelton has been caught in the middle of the raging ego war, RadarOnline.com has learned.

McEntire, 68, is replacing fan favorite Shelton, 47, on season 24 of the hit singing competition — and sources said that’s put her squarely in the crosshairs of veteran coach Stefani, 53.

According to the National Enquirer, Stefani hasn’t been “thrilled” about being upstaged by McEntire.

“They taped the blind auditions and battle rounds in July, and you could tell Gwen was less than thrilled playing second fiddle to Reba,” an insider dished to the outlet.

“Reba has a very outgoing personality and can suck the air out of a room,” the insider continued. “Gwen doesn’t feel like she has a chance to shine the way she wants.”

Apparently Stefani can’t even count on help from her husband, either. Sources claimed he wanted no part in the brewing feud between his wife and a woman he considered among his best friends.

McEntire and Shelton go way back as far as industry friendships are concerned. Shelton played McEntire’s little brother on her TV sitcom Malibu Country and was once managed by her ex-husband, Narvel Blackstock.

The native Oklahomans also co-hosted the televised Academy of Country Music Awards together.

“Blake worships the ground Reba walks on,” dished a close pal. “She’s been such a career inspiration for him.”

“In most cases, Blake goes out of his way to not ruffle Gwen’s feathers,” the insider said. “But he’s told her he isn’t going to stand for her to be anything less than polite and kind to Reba or she’s gong to be living in a house of discontent.”

Stefani allegedly sparring with McEntire hasn’t been the first time a friendship has gotten in the way of the couple’s marital bliss. Stefani hitting it off with Shelton’s tour mate, Carly Pearce, reportedly did not go over well with the Some Beach singer.

“Carly struck up a close friendship with Gwen while she was on tour with Blake,” a source told RadarOnline.com of Shelton feeling like a third wheel. “They found they have so much in common and really hit it off.”

After Peace went through a breakup, Stefani was said to be one of her biggest supporters — and Shelton didn’t want anything to do with their girl’s night shenanigans.

“They go off for girls’ nights on the town, hang out and get silly, and Blake’s taken about all he can,” the source continued. “There’s a tinge of jealousy there because Carly was his friend first.”

“He’s too proud to make a huge stink, but he’s venting to pals, asking why he left The Voice only to be treated like dog meat at home.”

Gwen Stefani slammed for ‘disturbing’ treatment of ‘terrified’ tiny kitten on The Voice

Fans are fuming at Gwen Stefani for her treatment of a ‘terrified’ kitten during The Voice’s premiere.

The Season 26 premiere of The Voice saw tons of new talent take the stage during the blind auditions but fans are focusing on one awkward moment between couch Gwen Stefani and a kitten.

Viewers of the hit NBC show are slamming the No Doubt singer – who also made another bold move during the episode – for her “disturbing” treatment of a “terrified” tiny kitten that appeared during one contestant, Sydney Sterlace’s audition.

Niall Horan, Gwen Stefani in tears over early 'The Voice' favorite's shock elimination

Sydney quickly impressed coach Michael Bublé, then Stefani, Snoop Dogg, and Reba McEntire with her rendition of Olivia Rodrigo’s song Drivers Licence.

After all the coaches praised Sydney for her voice, Gwen walked away from her seat and said: “You know Sydney… I had this little thing happen to me.

“This little creature came up to my porch and was like barely alive and was like ‘I love you, you’re my new cat’ but I don’t have a name!”

Gwen Stefani with a kitten on The Voice.

“Then I thought maybe I can name it Sydney. This cat’s name is Sydney!”

Snoop knew she was trying to win over the 15-year-old and said: “Illegal use of an animal.”

When it came time for her to chose a coach, Sydney chose Stefani and the alternative singer got up excitedly with her kitten to hug the teen.

However, fans couldn’t help but slam Stefani for her treatment of the tiny kitten.

One wrote on Reddit: “Did anyone else find it a little disturbing the way she handled that tiny kitten and how she was screaming in its ear? But that Sidney has a beautiful voice.”

Another said: “I actually noticed this too, I’m not a cat owner or anything but idk if you’re supposed to hold kittens the way she was lol.”

“Very odd! I’m assuming from the way she handled it, it actually was not her kitten,” a third added.

A fourth commented: “It was disturbing how this poor terrified “very young” animal was waved and yanked around in the air like a stuffed toy.”

However another said: “I’m sure the kitten is fine.”

In May, Stefani shared a cute video of her family’s new additions at her Oklahoma mansion.

Stefani and her husband Blake Shelton welcomed several adorable kittens into their home as their precious calico cat had a litter of six kittens back in April.

Stefani also angered other viewers for blocking McEntire from a contestant named Jake in the first few minutes of the premiere, which meant she was prevented from adding Jake to her team.

Fans on X, formerly Twitter, shared their opinions about the blocking.

One fan questioned: “Who thought of the idea of a block button? as another wrote: “Haven’t watched the voice in years and this block button??? Oh that’s messy.”

Other fans simply couldn’t believe Stefani had blocked McEntire so quickly, with one saying: “gwen blocking reba asap” as another added: “@reba knew @gwenstefani blocked her! #TheVoice.”

Other viewers said: “Gwen already blocking,” “I don’t know if I’d have the stones to block Reba. I’m just sayin” and “Reba just got blocked.”

Yet another laughed: “Gwen’s not playin haha.”

When McEntire explained to the crowd and Jake what Stefani did, the alternative singer got up and her only response was doing push ups on McEntire’s Blocked name.

In the end, Jake didn’t even pick Stefani, so her blocking of McEntire proved useless. He picked Team Snoop and fans praised him for it.

Gwen Stefani’s multi-million dollar salary for The Voice revealed as singer ‘picked show’ over touring with No Doubt

She will coach alongside Reba McEntire, Snoop Dogg, and Michael Buble for Season 26.

However, Gwen will not return for Season 27, as Michael, Kelsea Ballerini, John Legend, and Adam Levine will take over the chairs.

A source exclusively explained to The U.S. Sun that Gwen, 54, is taking home $13 million on the upcoming season of The Voice.

Insiders claim No Doubt was planning to head out on the road after their Coachella Festival double weekend critically acclaimed headlining show.

They were offered gigs across the country after their comeback sparked huge fan interest.

No Doubt has not toured in 12 years, but the plan fell through, which led Gwen to return to The Voice.

The source also revealed that Gwen felt like she “didn’t need the band” because she “lands many solo gigs playing their old hits alone.”

“She gets private bookings all the time to do solo gigs and of course she plays those songs. It is a business decision really. ‘Go to work and take in all the cash on your own or split it several ways?’” the source said.

    NO REUNION FOR NO DOUBT?

“No Doubt’s triumphant Coachella performances was discussed as a relaunching pad for the band,” a source claimed.

“They worked so hard for months to deliver the perfect show and return the magic to the audience.”

Gwen Stefani leaves fans ‘ugly crying’ after singer reunites with No Doubt at Coachella as they beg band to ‘go on tour’
“The desire initially was Gwen and the band to use that platform to keep playing beyond Coachella on a tour, but the plan fell apart,” the insider continued.

“But there was talk of tensions between members and managers around going back out and trying to work around everyone’s schedules.”

The insider went on to claim Gwen had the biggest offer to return to NBC, so she decided to go her separate ways and return to TV.

However, what she would earn with No Doubt on two months of a tour would be the same amount that she is earning from The Voice.

A rep for Gwen has not responded to The U.S. Sun’s request for comment.

A rep for NBC declined to comment regarding the salary.

    REMAINS A MENTOR

Despite Gwen taking a few seasons off, she was still a mentor for many past contestants.

Former contestant Jay Allen spoke about Gwen at the Keep Memory Alive 27th annual Power of Love gala in Las Vegas.

He said she and her husband, Blake Shelton, are good human beings.

They advised him on career choices and supported his fundraising work.

‘The Voice’ feud heats up as Blake Shelton lashes out at John Legend over Bodie: ‘Stop pushing your button when I push my button!’ [WATCH]

On Monday’s fifth episode of “The Voice” Season 22, viewers will be introduced to Bodie, a 29-year-old singer from Ladera Ranch, California. All four coaches — Blake SheltonJohn LegendGwen Stefani and Camila Cabello — are so impressed with his cover of The Fray‘s “You Found Me” that they push their buttons, making him the latest four-chair turn contestant. But Blake has some choice words for John when they turn their chairs around at essentially the same time. Watch “The Voice” sneak peek video above.

“Stop pushing your button when I push my button!” Blake loudly exclaims. John giggles in response. So far this season, there have been seven four-chair turns (Morgan MylesOmar Jose CardonaOrlando MendezKevin HawkinsAndrew IgbokidiMorgan Taylor and Parijita Bastola) but Blake has only acquired one, Kevin, for his team. To compare, John has nabbed three already: Omar, Morgan and Parijita. Hmm, do we have ourselves a new “The Voice” feud?

Remember, earlier in the season, Blake noted how he’s feuded with everyone who’s been seated in the chair furthest away from him. First it was Adam Levine (Seasons 1-16), then it was Kelly Clarkson (Seasons 17-21), and now it appears to be John.

“I think I hit my button first,” Blake tells Bodie. “I never play that card, but John says it all the time, and he gets everybody on his team, so I hit my button first, okay?”

John smiles while conceding, “He hit it first. He did.” For the record, we re-checked the tape and John’s button push was approximately one second after Blake’s.

When it’s time for the coaches to try to woo the bleach-blond artist onto their teams, “Grandpa” Blake butters him up by calling his voice “incredible.” He adds, “We seem to have more rock-sounding artists auditioning this year, you know? … I love rock. I just can hardly ever get anybody [from that genre] to be on my team.”

“Bodie, your vocal presence was just so robust,” John begins, “and you put a certain amount of soul on it that was so cool and such a different take. It shows that you’re a really interesting artist because you’re taking this song in a different genre and giving it your own personal stamp. I thought that was super cool.”

Find out which team Bodie decides to join when “The Voice” airs Monday, October 3 on NBC.

Miranda Lambert Makes Rare Comment About Her Divorce From Blake Shelton

Miranda Lambert reflected on her high-profile divorce from Blake Shelton in a new interview with CBS News, telling the outlet she has a very specific way of handling the rumors.

Miranda Lambert Makes Rare Remark About Ex-Husband Blake Shelton

Divorce in the spotlight can be strange, just ask Miranda Lambert.

Seven years after she and fellow country star Blake Shelton called it quits, the 38-year-old reflected on the tabloid-frenzy that surrounded their high-profile divorce.

“I wasn’t prepared for that,” Miranda recently told CBS News. “I don’t think anybody is. And it’s not nice sometimes, but I think you got to take it with a grain of salt.”

Luckily, the “Actin’ Up” singer has her music as a way of cutting through the gossip and getting her side of the story out there to her fans.

“I’m a singer-songwriter so luckily I can tell my whole truth,” she shared. “I will not lie in my music.”

Miranda and Blake began dating in 2006 and tied the knot at the Don Strange Ranch in Boerne, Texas in 2011. In July 2015, the former couple announced that they were divorcing after four years of marriage, amid rumors of infidelity that were never confirmed.

Later that year, Blake later moved on with his The Voice co-star Gwen Stefani, and the two tied the knot last summer. After short-lived relationships with Anderson East and The Turnpike Troubadours‘ lead singer Evan Felker, Miranda also found her happily ever after with NYDP officer Brendan McLoughlin, who she married in January 2019 after just a few months of dating.

“I feel like I’ve been through enough in my life to know what I don’t want,” she told Health in November 2019 of the whirlwind romance. “So when I know what I do want, I snatch it right up.”

Brendan has even been featured in several of his wife’s music videos including “If I Was A Cowboy,” “Tequila Does (Telemitry Remix)” and “Settling Down,” a song inspired by him.

With a supportive partner and red-hot career, Miranda admitted she’s never been happier.

“I’ve grown up and I’ve learned a lot about myself and I think at some point you start to settle into who you are,” she told CBS News. “I feel at peace with myself.”

Shifting Gears Season 2 Is Confirmed After ABC Reportedly Considered Cancelling Tim Allen’s New Sitcom

03232270_poster_w780-1.jpg Matt in a car in Shifting Gears season 1, episode 10, looking at Riley

Shifting Gears season 2 has been confirmed to be happening after ABC reportedly considered cancelling the new Tim Allen sitcom after season 1 aired. In a previous report, it was indicated that ABC was considering axing Shifting Gears due to a drop-off in ratings since its premiere. This is despite Shifting Gears season 1 ending on multiple game-changing cliffhangers, including Matt (Allen) potentially starting a romantic relationship with his neighbor, Eve (Jenna Elfman), and Riley (Kat Dennings) deciding to divorce her husband.

Now, Variety has reported a multitude of ABC TV show renewals, with one of those being Shifting Gears season 2. Despite reports that the show’s dipping viewership would mean it wouldn’t get renewed, the series is confirmed to be coming back for another batch of episodes. This is good news for the Allen-led show, as it proves its ratings drop hasn’t caused ABC to lose faith in the show’s current level of success.

What Shifting Gears Season 2 Means For The Sitcom

Plenty Of Stories Are Still Yet To Be Told

Shifting Gears has seen an unfortunate dip in ratings since the show began, its premiere garnering 6.10 million live viewers, while its finale only reached 3.77 million live viewers. Even with this dip in viewership, though, the sitcom has managed to pull in more live viewers on average than The Conners season 7 and Abbott Elementary season 4. While this doesn’t account for streaming numbers for all three shows, when it comes to the show’s linear broadcast, Allen’s series is the most popular on the network.

Shifting Gears, Lopez vs Lopez and Mom

This is good news for the stories the characters in Shifting Gears will be going through as well. While Riley is divorcing Jimmy (Lucas Neff), she’s also hoping to start a relationship with Gabriel (Seann William Scott), who wants to wait until the time is right for them to get together. It’s also unclear where Matt and Eve’s potential romance will go, too, especially given their rivalry over the course of season 1. Executive producer Michelle Nader also previously said season 2 could introduce Sam, Matt’s son and Riley’s sister, shaking up the story even further.

Our Take On Shifting Gears Season 2 Getting Confirmed

The Series Avoids A Disappointing Fate

Matt grimacing in Shifting Gears season 1, episode 9

With Shifting Gears season 2 confirmed, the sitcom has managed to avoid its potential fate of cancellation, confirming new stories for the Parker family are on the horizon. Although it’s unclear what direction their respective plots will go, the series’ continuation is a sure sign they’ll continue in a satisfying way. With season 2 now just around the corner, it sounds like Allen’s sitcom isn’t going anywhere anytime soon.

Alongside Shifting Gears season 2, ABC also confirmed 9-1-1 season 9, Grey’s Anatomy season 22, The Rookie season 8, and Will Trent season 4. High Potential season 2 and Abbott Elementary season 5 were previously confirmed.

Go Behind the Scenes With Tim Allen in New ‘Shifting Gears’ Featurette [Exclusive]

Tim Allen as Matt smiling with his eyes looking off to the right in Shifting Gears

Between steadily staying in Disney+ Top 10 and breaking a streaming record for ABC, the new sitcom Shifting Gears has the making of an instant classic. The Tim Allen (Home Improvement) and Kat Dennings (2 Broke Girls) sitcom is ABC’s current most-watched streaming debut. Now, Collider can exclusively unveil a look behind the scenes to give fans a peek at the magic that goes into the new sitcom. Tim Allen, who plays Matt, compares returning to the sitcom world in this capacity to Tom Brady‘s professional NFL career. Can he do it again? Given the show’s streaming success, it would seem the answer is yes. Allen explains that between the cast and crew, “it looks like we’ve been doing this for years.”

Seann William Scott, who plays Gabriel, explains in the featurette that he has a hard time not bursting into laughter because of Allen’s presence. Dennings, who plays Matt’s daughter, Riley, talks about her own dynamic with Allen and how easy the father-daughter relationship works between the two of them. Interwoven with the featurette are scenes from the series, between Allen’s character and Denning’s character Riley as well as members of the rest of the autobody shop Matt owns.

Meet Riley’s Infamous Ex-Husband, Jimmy in New ‘Shifting Gears’ Episode

Last week’s episode was all about grief, as Matt and Riley process the loss of Matt’s late wife and Riley’s mother. The pair explore navigating the world without her, with Matt wondering why, according to him, good people die, and bad people live, while Riley continues to navigate motherhood without her own mother to lean on. Now, in tonight’s episode, Riley’s estranged ex-husband and father to her children, Jimmy, pops up.

Jimmy is played by Lucas Neff (Raising Hope). From images released last week, his visit looks to be a surprise, and not a welcome one. He brings Riley flowers, but this seems more like a Christopher Hayden in Gilmore Girls situation, where he’ll show up when his life is good for all of two seconds to try and show how much he’s changed (when he hasn’t) and disappear by the end of the episode. Whether the likely disappearing act will be of Jimmy’s own accord or Riley (and Matt) pushing him out the door, fans will have to wait and see — if that even happens at all.

Reba McEntire Confirms Her ‘Reba’ Alum JoAnna Garcia Swisher Is ‘Definitely’ Joining ‘Happy’s Place’

Reba McEntire‘s NBC sitcom Happy’s Place has already had several Reba alums on the show — and JoAnna Garcia Swisher is “definitely” next.

“JoAnna is so busy. She’s producing, she’s got three movies and she’s [working on] Sweet Magnolias. So she is a very busy lady but she said she’d definitely be there,” McEntire, 70, exclusively confirmed to Us Weekly in Nashville, while filming a series of sitcom-inspired ads for Realtor.com’s “Nearly Home” campaign.

McEntire was thrilled at how many of her former costars already found the time to make an appearance, adding, “Melissa Peterman, JoAnna and Steve Howey have been very busy. To get to bring Steve in already for our Christmas episode and to bring Chris [Rich] back in — that was the most special.”

Happy’s Place, which premiered in October 2024 and has already been renewed for season 2, follows Bobbie (McEntire) as she inherits her father’s restaurant and discovers a new business partner in the long-lost half-sister (Belissa Escobedo). Peterman, 53, plays a bartender at the restaurant, while McEntire’s boyfriend, Rex Linn, also appears as tavern cook Emmett.

The sitcom brought McEntire and Peterman back together more than 17 years after their hit series Reba ended its six-year run on The WB. Reba also starred Scarlett Pomers and Mitch Holleman, who have yet to make a cameo on NBC’s sitcom.

“Scarlett as Kyra was just incredibly and comedically gifted. I know we would love to see JoAnna Garcia and I think she just saw Reba recently,” Peterman exclusively told Us in March.“So I hope Reba was like, ‘When you are available?’”

She added, “It would be fun to have any and all Reba participants — whether they’re a cast member or a guest. It would be so much fun, and we would love to have all of them.”

While fans await more casting news, they can see McEntire return to her Reba roots with her Realtor.com’s “Nearly Home” campaign.

“Isn’t that funny that I’m doing this commercial and I was a realtor on Reba? It’s really fitting and I walked into it perfectly,” she told Us. “When [my friend] Dolly [Parton] was there [on an episode of the Reba sitcom with me], that makes it even more special doing this. It brings back memories with [Steve Howey’s character] Van, who was my son-in-law. He was also my partner in our real estate business.”

McEntire was thrilled to get the chance to help make the home buying and selling process more accessible for people looking for their next house.

“What is so neat about Realtor.com is that you can just get on the app. They’ve got over a half a million new listings every month. I didn’t know about Realtor.com when I moved to Nashville,” she explained. “So in the last 10 years, I’ve had to look for a new home. I wished I’d have had it then.”

McEntire continued: “I love my realtor but I wish I’d have had Realtor.com because that way you could look at the listings and really dive into it.”
