‘The Voice’ Season 29 Facing Setbacks, Big Changes ‘Backfired’

    The Voice YouTube

The Voice Season 29 is facing major setbacks, and their big changes have “backfired”. This is sad for fans to hear, as they tried to switch it up a good amount. However, it seems that what they tried to do is not working for several reasons. This is something that production did not expect. However, it is too late to do anything about it now. There is a lot to unfold and uncover when it comes to this. Keep reading to find out more about this situation.

Season 29 Only Has Three Coaches

Season 29 of The Voice has already made a big change by having only three coaches. This is shocking as they usually have four and applaud singers for getting a four-chair turn. However, Kelly Clarkson, Adam Levine, and John Legend will be the only ones in the infamous red chairs next season. The three have been filming in Universal City, California, for Season 29. However, things are not going the way production had planned. They thought these three would make a great season, but the opposite is happening. Fans are saddened to hear that this is happening.

The Voice Facing Setbacks, Big Changes ‘Backfired’

The Voice is facing major setbacks. Big changes that they had in mind are backfiring, and there is nothing they can do about any of it. Kelly Clarkson’s ex-husband passed away, which put a pause in their filming. However, it has also made her not have her spark. Adam Levine also does not seem to be in it.

“[Execs] were expecting fireworks with season 29 but it’s coming out with a whimper, not a bang. With Kelly dealing with all of her family issues, of course it’s in no way her fault, but that electric energy the show has gotten from her in the past just isn’t there. Adam’s heart doesn’t seem to be in it. He’s back again and trying his hardest but he doesn’t seem happy doing the show.”

It was then revealed that John Legend is really the only one giving it his all. The show does not work if only one coach is truly trying to do their best. Yikes. Season 29 might be a bust.
    The VoiceThe Voice
It seems as though Adam Levine’s heart is not in it. He is trying his best, but it is not working. Kelly Clarkson is also going through a lot in her personal life, which has led to her spark not being there. It seems that John Legend is the only one who is fully in the show. So, this is not going to make for the best season they have ever had. They wanted something big, but it is not going to be that. Are you shocked by this at all? What are your thoughts? Let us know in the comments.

The series announced Joe Walsh of the Eagles and Zac Brown from the Zac Brown Band will be Mega Mentors during the Knockout Rounds of The Voice season 28.

The singers also expressed their thoughts about being part of The Voice in this manner.

The Voice is already halfway through season 28, but there’s still lots of excitement—including a major twist—to come.

As new episodes air every Monday and Tuesday night, fans are eager to see Reba McEntire, Niall Horan, Michael Bublé, and Snoop Dogg mentor the latest batch of artists looking to make it big in music. Well, it looks like they won’t be alone for the Knockout Rounds (which sees the coaches putting three of their team members against one another), as The Voice announced that two more well-known musicians are slated to be this season’s Mega Mentors for this round of competition.

As NBC Insider revealed on October 20, guitarist Joe Walsh from the Eagles and Zac Brown from Zac Brown Band are slated to help out the coaches for this moment on The Voice season 28. What’s more, Joe will assist Team Reba and Team Niall, while Zac will help out Team Michael and Team Snoop.

“Please welcome our newest Mega Mentor, the one and only Joe Walsh!” the show shared in a joint Instagram post with Joe just days later on October 24.

As soon as fans discovered Joe and Zac will be Mega Mentors for The Voice season 28, they had so much to say about this new development.

“Can’t WAITTTT!! 👏,” one person screamed in the comments. “I can’t tell you how excited I am for this. Maybe slightly more than Niall, but only by a little bit. 🥰💜,” another declared, referencing Niall’s love for the Eagles. “Ohhh this is so awesome! I have got to watch this! ❤️❤️❤️,” a different follower added.

For those unfamiliar with Joe and Zac, here’s a quick look at their careers: Joe Walsh played guitar for the Eagles and penned hits in the 1970’s like “Walk Away,” “Life in the Fast Lane,” and “Rocky Mountain Way.” He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1998.

Zac Brown has been in the music industry since making it big in 2008. A three-time Grammy award winner, he has also collaborated over the years with multiple Voice coaches! He released the single “Let It Run” with Snoop in July 2025, while he collaborated with Blake Shelton on the single “Out in the Middle” in 2023.

What’s more, Zac also expressed his gratitude for joining The Voice in this manner on Instagram.

“Honored to be a Mega Mentor on @nbcthevoice,” he wrote. “Music changed my life and now I get to help light that spark for someone else. Let’s go!”

Looks like we have something to look forward to when we tune in for this one!

The Young Sheldon spinoff Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage follows the ill-fated union of its namesake couple.
Season 2 will focus on how Georgie’s ownership of McAllister Auto and Mandy’s promotion will impact their marriage.
Season 2 premieres on CBS on Oct. 16.

One of the most popular shows to debut this year was Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage, a Young Sheldon spinoff about the ill-fated marriage of its namesake characters.

Across its 22-episode debut outing, the comedy followed Georgie Cooper (Montana Jordan), the older brother of The Big Bang Theory and Young Sheldon‘s Sheldon Cooper, after his marriage to Mandy McAllister (Emily Osment), who’s 12 years his senior and the mother of his daughter, CeeCee. The couple live in Medford, Tex., with Mandy’s family as Georgie works at the auto shop of her dad, Jim (Will Sasso), and she pursues her dreams of becoming a weather reporter.

Despite Sheldon being nowhere in sight, Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage drew big numbers for CBS, averaging more than 12 million viewers per episode across broadcast and streaming. Bazinga, indeed.

As its title implies (and The Big Bang Theory confirms), Georgie and Mandy’s marriage is not a till-death situation, but audiences are nevertheless curious about what, exactly, serves to shake up what the first season shows to be a strong bond between the pair.

So, will there be a season 2? When does it come out? Read on as we share everything we know about Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage, including its release date, cast, plot, and more.

Will there be a second season of Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage?

Montana Jordan and Emily Osment in GEORGIE & MANDY'S FIRST MARRIAGE, A Tie Breaker and a Huge Mistake

Yes, CBS announced that Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage would return for a second season as part of its 2025-2026 prime-time schedule.

How did Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage season 1 end?

As season 1 draws to a close, Mandy lands herself a full-time job as a prime-time weather reporter at a Texas TV station. Georgie, meanwhile, seeks to buy the auto shop after Jim considers selling it to a local rival, Fred Fagenbacher (Matt Letscher).

Of course, these exciting developments come with their own complications. While Mandy is thrilled about her promotion — and her popularity among viewers — Georgie is furious to learn that her boss, Scott (Christopher Gorham), is also her ex. He demands she quit, but she refuses.

Georgie eventually relents, given that they’ll need the money from her job. Though he succeeds in buying McAllister Auto, he has to take on ample debt to do so, including putting up his mom’s house as collateral to secure a bank loan. And to match Fagenbacher’s offer, he also has to bring on his co-worker Ruben (Jessie Prez) as a partner. A dicey proposition, considering the pair’s combative relationship.

Compounding his anxiety is Fagenbacher. Upset about being undercut, the Texas bigwig resolves to put Georgie out of business.

As for Georgie and Mandy? They’re on shaky ground, but straining to make things work for the sake of CeeCee.

What is Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage season 2 about?

Season 2, of course, will continue the series’ inevitable march toward Georgie and Mandy’s split, though it may not unfold as expected.

Speaking with Entertainment Weekly ahead of the show’s premiere last year, Osment teased, “[The title] makes the viewer wonder if this is their first marriage or what could be their second marriage? Will their second marriage be to each other? There are a lot of questions that are asked when you look at that title.”

Executive producer Steve Holland agreed, saying, “I think how you should interpret that title, I hope, is intriguing, and a little playful, and a little mysterious.”

The season 2 premiere is called “A Tie Breaker and a Huge Mistake,” and it centers on the growing pains Georgie and Ruben are experiencing as partners. “Tensions rise in the tire store when new co-owners Georgie and Ruben realize they can’t agree on anything,” reads the synopsis, which also notes how Sasso’s Jim “struggles to find his purpose now that he’s retired.”

Season 2 is also likely to explore Mandy’s relationship with Scott, the ex-boyfriend who’s now her boss at the TV station. While Mandy assures Georgie that she’s over him, it’s obvious that there’s still chemistry between the pair. Holland confirmed to TVLine that the plan is for Scott to return in season 2, so that tension has to head somewhere.

Osment also spoke to TVLine about the relationship and where she’d like to see it go in season 2. “I think it’s a telling sign that [Scott] didn’t tell his fiancée about her,” she said. “I think [Mandy and Scott] have to have a brutally honest conversation with each other. I mean, that conversation they have in the office isn’t really all that truthful. They’re still kind of avoiding some stuff. I hope that there’s a storyline where Mandy meets his fiancée, too.”

Is there a Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage season 2 trailer?

Yes. It not only highlights the tension between Georgie and Ruben, but also the origins of Dr. Tire, the successful tire brand we know Georgie goes on to spearhead.

Also on display? Georgie and Mandy’s adorable dysfunction. We wouldn’t have the show without it.

Who’s in the Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage season 2 cast?

Dougie Baldwin, Rachel Bay Jones, and Will Sasso in ‘Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage’ season 2.Troy Harvey/Warner Bros.

Jordan, Osment, Sasso, and Prez are all confirmed to return for season 2, as is Rachel Bay Jones as Mandy’s mother, Audrey.

A video shared to the Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage Instagram page also seems to confirm that Gorham’s Scott will pop up in season 2. This was in question, as Gorham was cast in a lead role opposite Morena Baccarin on the upcoming CBS series Sheriff Country, which could have impacted his availability.

Holland acknowledged as much to TVLine following the season 1 finale, but said they were hoping to keep the actor aboard. “We love Chris. That’s a CBS show as well, so our hope is that we can work it out with their production team when we need him, and we can get ahead,” he said. “One of the benefits of that show being single camera is he probably won’t be shooting every day. Obviously, it’s out of the country, which makes it a little tricky, but we’re pretty confident we can work it out.”

Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage Season 2 Spoilers: Audrey Becomes the Real Villain

Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage Season 2 Spoilers: Why Audrey Becomes the Real Villain Behind Their Breakup

Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage Season 2 spoilers reveal that Audrey, Mandy’s mother, is emerging as the true antagonist threatening the couple’s fragile relationship. The CBS spinoff of Young Sheldon has taken a darker emotional turn, focusing on how subtle family tensions could eventually lead to Georgie and Mandy’s confirmed divorce in The Big Bang Theory universe.

While Season 1 explored their adjustment to parenthood and independence from the Cooper family, Season 2 dives deeper into the emotional power dynamics surrounding them — particularly Audrey’s growing influence over her daughter. As fans have seen, her manipulative tendencies are becoming more dangerous than ever.

'Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage' Fans Are Done With Audrey

Audrey’s Subtle Manipulation Shapes Georgie & Mandy’s Downfall

From her introduction, Audrey has represented disapproval and quiet resentment toward Georgie, often blaming him for derailing Mandy’s ambitions. In Season 2, her antagonism evolves from overt criticism into subtle manipulation. Now that she’s rebuilding her bond with Mandy, Audrey’s influence carries far more weight.

Unlike Season 1, where tension between mother and daughter was openly hostile, their repaired relationship now gives Audrey emotional leverage. She offers advice that prioritizes Mandy’s independence and career over her marriage, making her interference appear supportive rather than destructive. As Mandy starts seeking her mother’s counsel more frequently, this “friendly” manipulation risks slowly pushing Georgie out of her emotional orbit.

According to ScreenRant’s coverage, Audrey’s seemingly well-intentioned advice could quietly plant the seeds of the couple’s split. By amplifying Mandy’s career ambitions and subtly undermining Georgie’s role as a partner, Audrey’s involvement becomes the emotional wedge driving the series toward its inevitable heartbreak.

Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage Season 2 Spoilers

The Emotional Fallout and Canon Connection to The Big Bang Theory

Fans of The Big Bang Theory already know Georgie and Mandy’s marriage ends in divorce, but Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage Season 2 is now revealing how that path begins. Audrey’s renewed closeness with Mandy hints at the emotional groundwork for that future — small disagreements that escalate into disconnection.

Montana Jordan (Georgie) and Emily Osment (Mandy) portray this unraveling with maturity, balancing humor and realism. Meanwhile, Audrey’s transformation from blunt critic to quiet manipulator makes her more dangerous than any traditional sitcom antagonist. Her presence reflects how parental influence can distort even the strongest relationships.

As Season 2 progresses, Audrey’s growing control could prove fatal to Georgie and Mandy’s marriage — not through outright cruelty, but through a steady erosion of trust and communication. This makes her one of the franchise’s most nuanced and dangerous villains yet.

FYI (keeping you in the loop)-

Q1: Who is the main antagonist in Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage Season 2?

Audrey, Mandy’s mother, emerges as the central antagonist by emotionally influencing her daughter and creating subtle tension between her and Georgie.

Q2: Why is Audrey considered dangerous in Season 2?

Because she now manipulates through emotional support and advice, making her interference less obvious but more effective at causing conflict.

Q3: Will Georgie and Mandy get divorced in the series?

Yes, according to The Big Bang Theory canon, their marriage eventually ends, and Season 2 is setting up that outcome.

Q4: How does Audrey’s influence affect Mandy’s character?

Mandy starts prioritizing her mother’s opinions and career-focused advice, leading her away from compromise with Georgie.

Q5: Is Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage connected to Young Sheldon?

Yes, it is a direct spinoff continuing the Cooper family storyline from Young Sheldon, though with a more mature comedic tone.

Brandon was still a child when Reba married his father, talent manager Narvel Blackstock, in 1989. Reba helped raise Brandon and his sisters, Shawna and Chassidy, alongside her and Narvel’s son, Shelby.

Reba remained in Brandon’s life even after she and Narvel divorced in 2015. She always said she viewed Brandon as her own “blood,” rather than her stepson.

When Brandon passed away on August 7 after a private, three-year battle with skin cancer, Reba was understandably devastated. She shared a moving tribute to him on social media, writing:

Last week, my stepson/oldest son Brandon Blackstock went home to be with God. His struggle is over and he is in eternal peace in God’s presence. There is no one else like him, and I’m thankful for the time we had together. His legacy and laughter will be carried on through his family. Rest in peace cowboy. Happy trails to you til we meet again.”

Tim Allen’s highly anticipated return to the world of sitcoms with ‘Shifting Gears’ has received fantastic, unexpected news

Tim Allen’s ‘Shifting Gears’ Gets Fantastic News Ahead of Season 2 Premiere

    Shifting gears 5

Tim Allen is sticking around on Wednesday nights a little longer than expected. ABC has bumped up Shifting Gears’ Season 2 order from 10 episodes to 13, which means fans are getting three extra weeks of Allen and Kat Dennings before the network makes room for something else.

It’s not quite a full-season order (those usually hit 18 episodes or more on network television), but it’s definitely a vote of confidence after the show ranked as one of ABC’s top comedies last season.

Season 1 of Shifting Gears only ran 10 episodes since it launched midseason, so Season 2 is already bigger. The multi-cam sitcom follows Dennings as a single mom who moves back in with her estranged dad (Allen), who owns an auto restoration shop.

Shifting Gears Season 2: Tim Allen's Sitcom Returns With More Nostalgia | Us Weekly

Along with the two leads, the cast includes Seann William Scott, Daryl “Chill” Mitchell, Maxwell Simkins, and Barrett MargolisMichelle Nader runs the show, with Allen also pulling double duty as an executive producer. ABC clearly sees value in keeping it in the rotation, but the extra three episodes also line up with what’s waiting in the wings.

    How Does This Affect ‘Scrubs’?

The Wednesday comedy block right now pairs Shifting Gears at 8 PM with Emmy darling Abbott Elementary at 8:30, but things are expected to change in the spring. The long-awaited Scrubs reboot — yes, with Zach Braff, Donald Faison, Sarah Chalke, Judy Reyes, and John C. McGinley all back — is the big midseason comedy waiting for its shot. Odds are it’ll slot into Shifting Gears’ time once the Tim Allen sitcom wraps up its 13-episode run, keeping the night built around Abbott Elementary.ABC hasn’t officially locked its midseason schedule yet, so there’s a chance they could shuffle the lineup, but either way, Scrubs is clearly being positioned as a major player in the block.

The additional episodes mark a strong show of support for Shifting Gears, which was ABC’s #5 scripted series last year. Allen has been a staple for the network for decades now, and pairing him with Kat Dennings has proven to be a surprisingly strong combo. Between the family tension, workplace comedy, and a little bit of the classic Tim Allen sitcom energy, Shifting Gears has carved out a solid niche for itself.

Shifting Gears will return to ABC next month for an initial 13 episodes. Stay tuned to Collider for more updates.

After a successful debut season that featured eighteen comfy episodes, Happy’s Place was renewed for a second run as announced earlier this year. A return date was not included in the announcement at the time, but NBC has now provided one, set for this fall and with an exciting addition. Season 1 concluded on March 21, 2025, but weeks before, in February, it was renewed for another exciting season.

As all networks unveil their fall schedule for scripted and unscripted programs, NBC has officially revealed that Happy’s Place Season 2 will launch on Friday, November 7 at 8/9c. That’s not all! The sitcom will return with a double-episode event, meaning viewers will get to enjoy even more time with Reba McEntire’s Bobbie McAllister and other beloved characters. Isabella is young, inexperienced, and has some unusual new ideas about how to run the family business, which the duo ultimately learn to co-own together. Also included in their close-knit business are the bartender Gabby (Peterman), the cook Emmett (Linn), the nicest waiter in Tennessee, Takoda (Elk), and their brilliant yet eccentric accountant Steve (Castelblanco).

Not Everyone Is a Fan of ‘Happy’s Place’

While Happy’s Place may have been worth watching to several viewers, critics had mixed opinions about the show upon its debut. On Rotten Tomatoes, it has a 73% critics’ score based on eleven reviews, a few of which are not so glowing. USA Today’s Kelly Lawler described it as “just another low-rent sitcom with stale jokes, bland characters, and a limp plot.” Similarly, The Hollywood Reporter’s Daniel Fienberg saw the series as pretty “generic” and that “does not feel like a well-established Nashville institution.” Nevertheless, other critics were not so disapproving, including Screen Rant’s Sarah Little, who opined, “Many of the jokes land, while the emotional moments tug at the heartstrings. For those reasons alone, McEntire’s new NBC sitcom is off to a good start.”

Omnibus is a podcast hosted by the two men who explore “strange-but-true stories compiled as a time capsule for future generations,” according to the website.

Jennings flies back and forth from his home in Seattle, Washington, to Culver City, California, to film Jeopardy!, so filming the podcast is probably on the back burner.

Fans reacted to the news. “Heartbroken but happy for you,” one said.

“I feel like I’ve just been hit by a mail truck,” said another.

“A true end of an era 😭 your puns have finally become just too much for John,” another wrote.

“Congratulations on your upcoming adventures,” one last fan added.

Jennings is also scheduled to appear at the New Yorker Festival this weekend in New York City. He will still be the host of Jeopardy!. Jennings is also an author of numerous books.
