The Voice Season 27 advanced to the “Playoffs” stage of the competition on Monday. In this round, each coach brings their team of five to the stage for a single performance that will determine which two move on the live shows. By the end of the round’s 20 performances, only eight artists will remain in the competition. Mega Mentors Sheryl Crow and LeAnn Rimes assisted Team Kelsea Ballerini and Team Adam Levine in the rehearsals leading up to the April 28 episode.

    Team Kelsea

The five performances for Team Kelsea were Iris Herrera with “White Horse” by Chris StapletonJaelen Johnston singing “If You’re Reading This” by Tim McGrawAlanna Lynise singing “Nobody Gets Me” by SZATinika Wyatt with “I Can Only Imagine” by MercyMe, and Darius J on “Hey Ya!” by Outkast. During rehearsals with Sheryl, she was impressed by the “huge voice” of Iris and backed up Kelsea’s advice for Jaelen to not rework the song too much because he wants the audience to recognize it. Sheryl recognized that Alanna “deeply feels” a song when she performs it, was in love with the “beautiful” song choice Tinika made to inspire people, and agreed that “comparison is the thief of joy” and that Darius should be proud of how unique he is.

Following their stage performances, John Legend told Iris that her voice was “shredding,” Adam appreciated that Jaelen is “different within the category [he] exists in,” and John said that Alanna has the “right voice, right approach, and right musicality” to be a superstar. Michael Bublé thanked Tinika for her “rich and textured and gorgeous” performance and was excited and “inspired” by Darius for putting a retro spin on an unexpected contemporary song.

Kelsea thought that Iris did “the best [she’s] ever done it,” loved that Jaelen “stayed true to the heart” of his song choice and thinks country music will be proud of him, and recognized and appreciated all of the hard work that Alanna put in to making her performance perfect. Kelsea was grateful that Tinika “used [her] space” on the stage to worship and said that she “blessed a lot of people” and said she’s “like a moth to a flame” with Darius because he “makes everyone feel like a warm hug.” Faced with the decision to choose only two to represent her team in the live shows, Kelsea picked Iris and Alanna to advance.

    Team Adam

The five performances for Team Adam were Lucia Flores-Wiseman singing “In My Life,” Conor James doing “Pink Pony Club” by Chappell RoanKolby Cordell with “Finesse” by Bruno MarsEthan Eckenroad on “The Night We Met” by Lord Huron, and Britton Moore with “Somewhere Only We Know” by Keane. During the rehearsal sessions, LeAnn warned Lucia about the notes she was “squeezing” off in the vocal, coached Conor through moving lyrics around to find room for his breath, and wanted Kolby to be “playful and flirt” by mixing up the melody in new ways. LeAnn wanted Ethan to focus on projecting his voice by making sure his “voice is supported by air” and urged Britton to find the “dynamics” in his performance because he was “beautifully sitting in one area” otherwise.

Following their stage performances, John noted that Lucia’s gift was “shining through” her and said she “deserves to have a major career” and referenced Conor being in his element with his song choice because it felt like he was on stage in a musical. Michael called Kolby “one of the great contenders” that could win the whole show and Kelsea likened Ethan’s voice to Benson Boone and Hozier in that rock Americana style. Michael loved Britton’s interpretation of his song because it showed his range.

Adam called Lucia’s artistry “refreshingly yours” because she’s a “singular” artist on her own level, thought Conor made a good choice with his song because he “established his own identity,” and said that Kolby’s performance “shot up” to the top of the pack in the whole competition. Adam acknowledged that Ethan chose a “simple” song but did a great job on it and told Britton he chose a difficult song and still managed to put his mark on it. When it came time for Adam to choose two artists to advance, he picked Lucia and Kolby to represent his team in the lives.

‘The Voice’: Reba McEntire Makes Show Changing Decision

Reba McEntire - 'The Voice' | YouTube

The Voice‘s Reba McEntire makes a show-changing decision in the first episode of Season 26. The country singer changed the life of one contestant when she surprised everyone with her actions. As a returning coach, she knows how to switch things up.

    The Voice Begins

Season 26 of The Voice just aired on Monday, September 23 at 8 pm on NBC. The series is known for its unique touch of having the judges face away from the contestants and only get to turn around when they select the singer for their team or when the song is over.

The blind auditions are a stressful time for contestants and judges and this first episode was no different. 37-year-old Kendall Eugene gave a performance that showed some of his talent and style with “Don’t Think Jesus” By Morgan Wallen.

The Queen of Country listened to Eugene’s performance along with her fellow judges. Unfortunately, no one turned around and it seemed Eugene and his guests had given up hope.

Gwen, Michael, and Snoop took the opportunity to express why they didn’t turn around positively. Moreover, the judges encouraged him to pick another song and return to The Voice soon.

Reba noted how the performer’s “style is totally different than anything we’ve heard today. I liked everything about it.” To that, the defeated singer said half-jokingly, “You should’ve turned.”

Furthermore, Reba responded, “I was gonna say that exact same words.” This was when Snoop jumped in to say his piece, giving Reba a moment to contemplate her decision.

    A Major Change

Since there may be times when a coach misses an opportunity to get a contestant on their team because they’re questioning whether or not to turn around, a change has been made for this season.
Reba McEntire - 'The Voice' | YouTubeReba McEntire | YouTube
The coaches have been given the ability of a “Replay Button” on this season of The Voice. It would make sense that the coaches would save it for later in the series because they don’t know what lies ahead.

This seems to be true for first-time judges Snoop Dogg and Michael Buble as well as returning judge, Gwen Stefani. However, fellow returning judge, Reba McEntire decided to use her one and only Replay Button in the first episode.

Thus, keeping Eugene in the competition, changing his life, and bringing him to tears. It was a very emotional moment as the country singer’s family and friends were rooting for her to turn her chair for him.

As this is only the first episode, hopefully, it was a good choice on Reba’s part and not just a risky move. Time will tell on this verdict, but she can still turn in real-time auditions.

Furthermore, the coach remarked about her decision, “I love that song that Kendall was singing, and after the song was over, I felt kind of numb. And in my heart, I wanted him on my team.

Additionally, she explained how beneficial she believes the Replay Button is to The Voice. This is because it is, “the second chance for the coaches when we realized we missed a moment.”

Blake Shelton Fears Losing Kelly Clarkson To Miranda Lambert

Blake Shelton fears losing Kelly Clarkson to his ex-wife Miranda Lambert. After, having a close relationship with the country star, could she switch up her loyalty?

    Team Blake Shelton

Blake Shelton is a well-known country singer. He is best known for being a judge on The Voice. However, he recently left to focus on his family. In addition, he will be featured on a song from Gwen Stefani’s new album releasing next month.

Furthermore, the coach’s most popular songs are “God’s Country,” “Boys ‘Round Here,” and “Ol’ Red.” His debut single from 2001, “Austin” was number 1 for five weeks on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart.

Additionally, the star is well-known for his wife, Gwen Stefani who, though is older than him, looks much younger. The two met on The Voice set in 2014. Before he married Stefani in 2021, he was married to Miranda Lambert.
Miranda Lambert | YouTubeMiranda Lambert | YouTube
Moreover, the country stars began their relationship in 2006, got engaged in 2010, and married in 2011. However, their marriage was short-lived as they divorced in 2015. In addition, even though a representative said there were “no hard feelings” between the newly divorced couples, there were rumors that Shelton was having an affair with Stefani.

Further evidence of this affair came in the fact that Stefani and her ex-husband Gavin Rossdale separated only one month after Shelton and Stefani divorced. Rossdale and Stefani even share three kids, but it seems things were not working out and the two officially divorced in April 2016. However, fans thought the timing was a bit suspicious.

In addition, Stefani claimed the two bonded over their divorces and began dating just a few months after their divorces/separations in November. This timing was also super suspicious which further led fans to their affair claims.

    Spending Time With The Enemy

Blake Shelton and Kelly Clarkson were coaches on The Voice together which gave them a bond and friendship. The idea that friends hate your enemies must not be true for everyone. Clarkson had Miranda Lambert on her show, The Kelly Clarkson Show.
Kelly Clarkson | YouTubeKelly Clarkson | YouTube
If there were only two teams, Team Shelton or Team Lambert, it might not be clear anymore where the talk show host falls. On September 24th Lambert and Clarkson sang “No Man’s Land” by Lambert together and discussed “Songs and Stories.” One story was the introduction of Lambert’s new album, Postcards From Texas.

An insider reportedly told Life & Style that Blake Shelton is feeling pretty hurt about the duet and appearance. Additionally, the insider disclosed, “Kelly was Team Blake for a long, long time and Gwen, too, by default, but now that she’s gotten to know Miranda better, she doesn’t know what Blake’s talking about.”

    Switching Teams

The insider notes the seeming switch up on Clarkson’s side which they believe will strain the current relationship between Blake Shelton and Kelly Clarkson. Moreover, the source remarks, “Kelly’s realized Miranda’s not a baddie at all, in fact, she’s a sweetheart and she’s going to give her support and be kind and generous even if it jeopardizes her friendship with Blake.”
Blake Shelton | YouTubeBlake Shelton | YouTube
Additionally, the source claimed, “Of course, Miranda’s putting on the charm. She certainly knows Kelly is a friend of Blake’s.” The insider seems to claim that the 40-year-old country singer is manipulating Clarkson and stirring up drama that’s 9 years old.

The insider seems to be no fan of Miranda Lambert. This is evident as the source says, “No one would put it past Miranda to steal Kelly away and fill her head with junk about her ex. The feeling is Kelly would believe anything. She’s incredibly nice but gullible.”

Do you think Kelly Clarkson is being gullible? Is Lambert being manipulative? What does this mean for Shelton and Clarkson’s relationship? Let us know in the comments below and stay tuned for more news at TVShowsAce.

    The Voice: Gwen Stefani

The Voice judge Gwen Stefani showed off a brand-new look on the reality singing competition show, and as much as viewers love the No Doubt singer, many were quick to roast her for the new appearance. So, what are viewers saying?

Gwen Stefani Has Always Been Ahead Of Style Trends

Gwen Stefani has been all about setting style trends. From the moment she broke into the mainstream with No Doubt in the mid-90s until now, she has always been one step ahead of what was popular and “in.” She may be in her 50s these days, but, her love of style continues, and has only gotten more elaborate in the years since she first garnered fame.

The Voice: Stefani Shows Off New Look

It turns out, Gwen Stefani showed off a new look during the battle rounds for The Voice. This is a tense time for the participants, as they have only one shot to impress and move on to the next round.

However, even though the singers hoped to knock it out of the park as they sang for their lives in the competition, many viewers did not think Gwen’s latest look was a knockout in the slightest. While Stefani may be all about pushing the envelope when it comes to style choices, a lot of fans say that she completely missed the mark, and they haven’t been shy about letting her know.

Fans Roast Gwen Stefani For Recent Style Choice

While Gwen Stefani does get a lot of love from her followers, it was a largely cold reception when it came to her recent look on The Voice. While you can’t blame anyone for trying their best to pull a certain look off, Gwen’s latest look was not doing her any favors, according to fans.

One commenter said: “I love Gwen but your stylist is way wrong with your hair style… bangs are not for you! Your beauty is so much better with your hair pulled back!”
Another commenter piled on, saying: “Gwen looks ridiculous. The wig looks cheap and it’s not Halloween yet.”
A third person added: “I love Gwen but why so many physical changes… lips, nose etc. Gwen you were beautiful naturally before.”

Gwen Stefani Reveals Jealousy For Kelly Clarkson

    Gwen Stefani | YouTube

Gwen Stefani and Kelly Clarkson have both been judges on The Voice multiple times. The two also became friends while working on the show, which sees original host Adam Levine returning this upcoming season. This season, neither Gwen nor Kelly will be on the show. However, Gwen still mentioned her relationship with Kelly as she spoke about the new season, including the fact she was jealous of Clarkson.

Here is why Gwen was jealous and what it meant for her career.

Why Was Gwen Stefani Jealous Of Kelly Clarkson?

Gwen Stefani appeared on The Today Show and she spoke about her relationship with Kelly Clarkson on The Voice. The two were rivals on the show, with them both trying to win for their singers. Kelly also had a great relationship with Gwen’s husband, Blake Shelton, on the show. The two had great chemistry every time they appeared together.
    Gwen Stefani-YouTubeGwen Stefani-YouTube
However, that isn’t why she was jealous. Instead, Gwen said it was Kelly’s non-stop hard work that took Gwen by surprise. She said that she didn’t understand how Kelly could work so hard and still have time to be creative. She said that it was this jealousy that caused Gwen to start writing music again.

“Kelly Clarkson kept texting me all these songs she’s writing, and I’m like, ‘Wait a minute, you have babies! When are you writing?’” Gwen admitted. “‘I stay up all night.’ I’m like, ‘Wait, what? I’m making bread and doing homeschool, I don’t know when I…’ And I sort of got jealous! And they [her songs] were good, and I was like ‘I want to write some songs.’”

Looking back, it is easy to see what Kelly was doing. She was going through a tough divorce, and that led to her creative spark as she began writing songs for her new album. However, Gwen took it as a challenge and started writing as well.

Gwen Stefani Used Jealousy To Finally Release New Music

Gwen Stefani said that she realized by watching Kelly Clarkson that she needed to do something for herself. “We all have a purpose. One of the purposes of my life is to be a wife and a mother and all the things,” Gwen said. “But I also know that the only time I feel like I’m really contributing to the world is when I’m writing songs.”
Kelly Clarkson | YouTubeKelly Clarkson | YouTube
This led to Gwen releasing her fifth studio album, Bouquet, in November 2024. It was her first album in seven years. It ended up topping out at 95th on the U.S. Billboard 200. She has also released three singles from the album, although none of them charted.

What are your thoughts on Gwen Stefani’s new music? Are you surprised Kelly Clarkson was the inspiration? Let us know in the comments below.

While fans were bummed at the decision, they also appreciated Reba for putting her health before her fans. Many fans admitted the last thing they wanted was for her to end up losing her singing voice because she pushed her vocal cords to work when they needed to rest. Other fans chimed in to note they hoped there wasn’t something more serious going on with her health.

One fan chimed in: “What do we do if we cannot make the December 2nd? Show? I am so upset but take care of you. I love your mm reba!”

    Wait, didn’t this just happen?

On Monday night, The Voice fans saw contestant Ari Camille change teams again. After she began on coach John Legend’s team, she was defeated in the Battle Round and stolen by one of his rivals, Adam Levine. Then, on the second night of the Knockouts, she was stolen again. Legend came to her rescue after she was defeated following her rendition of “Love Like This” by Faith Evans.

“We missed you,” Legend told her afterward. “Come on home.”

Legend had mentioned early in the episode that he had a steal remaining. And he used it after Levine chose Camille’s competitor, Britton Moore, who sang “Free” by Zac Brown Band.

Both performances were stunners, as they often are at this point in the competition. Before the contestants even left the stage, Legend announced, “I’m stealing somebody!”

Moore, who’s from Texas, said he’d never performed a country song previously. But the resident expert in the genre, coach Kelsea Ballerini, liked what she heard.

“Britton, your voice on a traditionally country song is so fun to listen to,” she said after his solo. “Every note is so crisp and perfect. It’s almost like you’re self-auto-tuned.”

Legend quipped that Moore’s voice is “God-o-Tuned.”

“Ari, your energy on stage just makes me so happy. Even you walking up, I was like, ‘OK, boots,” Ballerini said of Camille’s high white boots. “You really came to life, especially when you got out from behind that mic stand. You’re both amazing.” She couldn’t commit to a recommendation for Levine.

Coach, Michael Bublé observed that the two were incredible at just 21. The 49-year-old joked that, “if you add your ages up and then add a few years, you get me.”

He suggested Levine go with Moore.

“Ari, this song your style, your star power just all came together,” Legend told Camille. “This was my favorite performance of yours. I’m not gonna credit Adam being your coach.”

But he told Moore that his song was “pitch-perfect,” too.

And giving another indication of what he planned to do, Legend said, “Both of y’all earned the right to not leave this competition, I’ll tell you that.”

Levine proclaimed both “did exactly what needed to be done,” but he went with Moore.

Legend couldn’t watch Camille go home, however, so he went in for the steal.

Elsewhere in the episode, contestant Divighn said goodbye after a shocking elimination. The contestant covered Levine’s own “Harder to Breathe,” his song with Maroon 5, and got a lot of love from the coaches. Levine, especially, yubi, marveled at the Prince-esque dance moves and shrieks the contestant incorporated.

“Divighn, you got great taste in music, man,” Levine said. “I always secretly dread when people are gonna do our songs, because it always makes me nervous. I’m so close to it. I love what you did with it. You took it and did something that I actually like with it that wasn’t what I normally do. The fact that you can get up there and move the way you were moving and still just deliver like a rock-solid, big vocal, that’s big.”

But it wasn’t big enough, and Divighn’s coach, Bublé, opted to give opponent Kaiya Hamilton the win for her performance of “Here” by Alessia Cara. He didn’t like having to make it: “I made a mistake putting you together.”

The Voice Knockouts continue Monday, April 14, at 8/7 C on NBC.

The Voice Recap: The Knockouts Put Three More Singers Down for the Count

You know that The Voice had a good night when I make it all the way through a recap without giving a grade lower than a B+. Such was the case Monday as Season 27’s Knockouts continued with seven outstanding performances — and one that must have really fallen short as we didn’t even get the obligatory snippet of it. I’ll add the video when it drops later. In the meantime, let’s discuss, shall we?

Team Bublé: Kaiya Hamilton singing “Here” (Grade: A) defeated Divighn singing “Harder to Breathe” (Grade: B+) | On Maroon 5’s hit, Divighn lived up to his name. Not only did his voice hold up — no mean feat on that number — but his stage presence was holy crap! Off the charts! And that big, deliberate gulp of air that he took? Chef’s kiss. Singing second, Kaiya faced an uphill battle — and, for my money, won it. Divighn is a captivating showman, yubi, but vocally, Kaiya bested him. Not for nothing, but she’s pretty damn charismatic, too.

Team Legend: Bryson Battle singing “Ain’t No Way” (Grade: A+) defeated Tatum Scott singing “Stick Season” (Grade: A-) | Credit to John: Having Bryson sing a lower than he originally intended to brought a staggering richness to his Aretha Franklin cover. Of course, given Bryson’s ridiculous range, this performance was always destined to bring down the house. He made me glad I have ears! Next up, Tatum’s take on Noah Kahan seemed “small” by comparison. But taken on its own merits, her vocal was beautiful, as delicate as a leaf falling in the autumn breeze.

Team Kelsea: Alanna Lynise singing “I’ll Never Love Again” (Grade: A) defeated Page Mackenzie singing “???” (Grade: NA) | Wow, Page must have had an exceptionally off night; we didn’t get to see her even rehearse for this Knockout. Alanna got shortchanged, too, just not as much. We at least were allowed to hear a snippet of her Lady Gaga cover — and for what it was worth, it sounded strong enough that I would’ve preferred to watch the whole performance rather than see Kelsea juggle or Adam balance things on his head.

Team Adam: Britton Moore singing “Free” (Grade: A) defeated Ari Camille singing “Love Like This” (Grade: A) — Ari stolen by John | Wow — good Knockout! Tackling Faith Evans, Ari radiated cool on stage — and that voice of hers just did. Not. Quit. I wasn’t sure going in whether the number would let her show off enough; how wrong I was! “She killed that!” John yelled afterwards. Agreed. On the Zac Brown Band’s hit, Britton made a compelling case for why he should advance. His vocal was solid and felt emotionally open. When he was done, I figured that he had the edge, given how easily he could slip into that Shawn Mendes lane. But they were both terrific.

‘The Voice’ Season 27: John Legend pushes his steal button for nearly-eliminated artist who ‘exudes star power’

The Voice Season 27 continued the third stage of the competition on Monday with the second installment of “Knockouts” performances. In this round, each coach will set four head-to-head matchups from their team and will be forced to choose only four winners. While they won’t be able to save any of the losers from their own team, each coach will have a Steal to bring a loser from another team with them to “The Playoffs.” By the end of the round’s 16 performances, 20 artists will remain in the competition.

One hallmark of this round is that the artists get to choose their own song to perform rather than have it selected by their coach, as was done in the “Battles.” Another is that without guest mentors assisting during rehearsals, yubi, it’s the first time that John LegendKelsea BalleriniMichael Bublé and Adam Levine get to work one-on-one with the artists on their team.

    Team Bublé

For the first performances tonight, Michael pitted Divighn against Kaiya Hamilton for a knockout between two soul-pop singers he wanted to see go toe-to-toe. Divighn chose to sing “Harder to Breathe” by Maroon 5 because, like Adam, he has been the lead singer of a Top 40 band. Looking to make a name for himself, Divighn branched out on his own, but until now, he hasn’t been discovered. Kaiya went with “Here” by Alessia Cara because she related to not “fitting in” when she was a teenager. Michael said the win “will come down to whoever delivers the coolest performance.”

After the two performances, John reminded everyone “this is a vocal competition,” but added that it’s important to honor people like Divighn, who has a “compelling” stage presence. He said Kaiya sang “her butt off” and Michael could go either way. Adam jokingly complimented Divighn’s taste in music, but sincerely commended the singer for transforming his song. Adam enjoyed Kaia’s vocal, but preferred Divighn’s overall performance. Kelsea said that Kaiya made her appreciate the song “Here” even more than she did before. She then told Divighn that his cover of “Harder to Breathe” is “the only way to do it.” In the end, Michael said he made a mistake by putting these two together, but chose Kaiya as the winner because “she just gave the best vocal performance.”

    Team Legend

In the night’s second Knockout, John paired powerhouse Bryson Battle with country singer Tatum Scott. John urged Tatum to show more range in her voice while she rehearsed “Stick Season” by Noah Kahan, but agreed it was the perfect song choice. Bryson chose Aretha Franklin‘s classic soul ballad, “Ain’t No Way,” because he enjoys taking on “one of the hardest songs to sing.” John was happy to hear Bryson nail all the notes, but told the singer if he lowered the key it “would sound a little bit richer.”

After both singer’s performed, Adam noted that “it couldn’t have been two more different people doing different things.” The coach compared Bryson to Jordan Smith, who won Season 9, which bodes well for him in this competition. Adam then encouraged Tatum, saying Bryson would “smoke me” vocally too, but there was no clear winner or loser. Kelsea said Bryson’s voice is “one in a million” and Tatum gave her best performance on the show. Michael thanked both artists for allowing him to sit there and be “completely taken away.” In the end, John chose Bryson as the winner because “he has range, he has soul, and does it in a way that looks effortless.”

    Team Adam

In the night’s final Knockout, Adam squared off Ari Camille and Britton Moore because he had no other choice but to put “good people against good people.” Ari chose “Love Like This” by Faith Evans because she grew up listening to the song and it brings people together. To help Ari deal with her nerves, Adam reminded the singer, “No matter what, there is no consequence that is bad enough that you need to worry about it. If you miss a note you’re not going to get dropped into a pit of lions.” Britton went with “Free” by Zac Brown Band because he’s from Texas and “country music is in my heart.” Adam instructed the artist to “pull that microphone to your face” so people could hear his powerful voice.

After both performances, Kelsea said that every note Britton sings is “crisp and perfect” and she loves Ari’s energy on stage. Michael complimented the “youthful beauty” in Britton’s voice and said he won that Knockout. John called Ari’s performance his favorite of hers so far and told Britton he’s pitch perfect. In the end, Adam chose Britton as the winner of this Knockout because of his “amazing control” and ability to “sing for the fences.” Before Ari could be ushered off stage, she was stolen by John who said, “She exudes star power,” as he welcomed her back to Team Legend with open arms.

By the end of Episode 10, one other knockout decided who would advance. Kelsea stuck with Alanna Lynise on “I’ll Never Love Again” by Lady Gaga over Page Mackenzie (whose performance wasn’t shown).

The four-time Emmy Award-winning musical competition series The Voice is in its 27th season featuring five stages of competition: Blind Auditions, Battle Rounds, Knockouts, Playoffs and Live Performance Shows. In the coaches’ chairs, Michael is the defending champion after winning Season 26. He is joined by John, in his 10th season, and Kelsea, competing for the first time. Adam rejoined the panel of coaches for his 17th season after taking a hiatus following Season 16.
