‘The Conners’: Roseanne’s Grave Visited in Emotional TV Finale

“The Conners” didn’t ignore its controversial matriarch in its last episode.

    And that’s a wrap.

After 112 episodes on air, ABC’s The Conners said goodbye to the viewers and Roseanne Barr for good. And they did it by going to Roseanne’s grave.

Titled “The Truck Stops Here,” the show’s final episode wraps up the Conner family’s storylines, giving viewers as much closure as possible. Jackie (Laure Metcalf) becomes a cop. Becky (Lecy Goranson) is sober. Harris (Emma Kenney) gets an apartment and leaves the family home. Meanwhile, Darlene (Sara Gilbert) finds a new job. And Dan (John Goodman) finally gives his deposition in the family’s lawsuit against the pharmaceutical company that manufactures the opioids that caused his late wife, Roseanne (Barr), to accidentally overdose.

Despite Dan’s preparation, the deposition doesn’t go quite to plan. In the meeting, the company’s attorney claims that Roseanne had an “addictive personality” and implies Dan should have done more to prevent her overdose—a line of questioning that does not sit well with the Conner patriarch.

“If you’re saying what I think you’re saying, that might be the last thing you say, you son of a b—-. I told her she could overdose,” Dan says, furious.

He then goes on to point out that the company never informed people about the drug’s addictive quality, arguing that her death is a consequence of their negligence.

“Even if I took every penny you had, it wouldn’t be enough, because you took the love of my life and you killed her, the same as you put a gun to her head,” he says. “The only difference is you handed her the gun and told her it wasn’t loaded.”

Viewers learned about Roseanne’s death in the show’s very first episode. Initially, The Conners was a revival of Roseanne, a sitcom about a working-class family living in Illinois, which aired on the network from 1988 to 1997. However, it got canceled after the network fired the show’s star, Roseanne Barr, following a racist tweet she posted on X. Then the network decided to order a spinoff, and that’s how The Conners came to be.

In an interview with Deadline, executive producers Bruce Rasmussen, Dave Caplan, and Bruce Helford said the show’s final episode was always going to have a tribute to Barr.

“There were mentions all along. We never shied away from that. The family loved their matriarch. For the finale, we felt it was right to honor the character and honor Roseanne herself, who birthed the show. It was important to make that part of the end,” Helford explained.

The tribute comes in the form of a scene where the family gathers around Roseanne’s gravestone to open the envelope with what they believe is going to be a huge settlement check from the pharmaceutical company. Unfortunately, the check is only $700—not quite the big payout they expected. The check also came with a letter in which the company informs Dan that the money is a “tribute to his unwavering commitment” to his late wife.

Disappointed, the family decides to put the money to good use by ordering food to the house. Before they leave the cemetery, they each take a turn telling Roseanne how they are doing.

“Hey, Mom, I’m still sober. Can you believe it?” Becky says proudly.

Darlene told her mom she was doing “what I thought you would do for the family.” Meanwhile, Jackie informs her little sister that she has finally become a cop.

“I’m really happy now,” she shares.

At the end of the episode, the Conners family gathers around the show’s iconic beaten-down couch for the last time. Then, Dan delivers one final speech, for old time’s sake.

“Going through all this reminds me that no matter how much c— life throws at us, all we gotta do is look around, because if we hang together, nothing can stop us.”

While the Conners didn’t get the big payout they hoped for, the show still lets us know they are doing just fine. After all, they will always have each other.

‘The Conners’ Series Finale: How Laurie Metcalf’s Unexpected Burst Of Emotion Impacted The Final, Bittersweet Moment

SPOILER ALERT: This story contains details from Wednesday’s series finale of The Conners on ABC.

After more than three decades, the Conners have held their final family meeting in that kitschy midwestern living room. The Roseanne spinoff celebrated its series finale tonight with one final nod to the matriarch while acknowledging that life is still good for this working-class clan.

Below, executive producers Bruce Helford, Dave Caplan and Bruce Rasmussen talk about their decision to reference Roseanne in the final episodes, and how Laurie Metcalf‘s unexpected display of emotion changed the final scene for the better.

DEADLINE: Before we dive into the episode, Dave Caplan, it’s time to acknowledge your Ph.D that is listed in the credits.

DAVE CAPLAN: Yeah. I finished my degree. It’s in media-related psychology. It’s how storytelling affects its audience.

    BRUCE HELFORD: We’re smart people.

    BRUCE RASMUSSEN: Or dancing monkeys.

DEADLINE: Talk about your decision to name the last episode “The Truck Stops Here.”

CAPLAN: It was the bookend, because the first episode of The Conners had trucking in it, right?

HELFORD: Yeah. The first episode of the reboot was called “Keep on Truckin’.” We kept on trucking.

DEADLINE: So did you know for a couple years that you wanted to pay homage to the Roseanne character in the final season?

HELFORD: There were mentions all along. We never shied away from that. The family loved their matriarch. For the finale, we felt it was right to honor the character and honor Roseanne herself, who birthed the show. It was important to make that part of the end.

DEADLINE: That was kind of an unremarkable payout from the drug company, who Dan Conner sued over Roseanne’s accidental opioid overdose.

RASMUSSEN: The money was funny. We knew they weren’t going to win the lottery. The whole point of the last six episodes was that …

HELFORD: … the Conners were never going to get more than just a nod, and that’s really what that was about.

CAPLAN: The Conners aren’t going to win at the end, and also they’re symbolic of the struggling working class in our country who’s not going to win, either. We didn’t want to betray the audience’s trust in us to tell it like it is by having them have a windfall. They’re doing well in other ways.

HELFORD: The reboot started because we wanted to undo the legacy of the lottery. We wanted to find a better ending for the show, so we weren’t going to go back.

DEADLINE: Jackie’s line of dialogue at Roseanne’s grave about not knowing where mom was. Was that your way to acknowledge Estelle Parsons since you couldn’t get her to reprise Beverly for the finale?

HELFORD: The last time we saw her was her getting on the train. It was too much to ask her to come out for the sixth episode. It’s a lot. She is 97. She’s a phenomenal presence. I like the idea that she’s never going to stop being out there, wandering the country on the rail. She’s a flying Dutchman, I think.

DEADLINE: What would you have done with Johnny Galecki, had you persuaded him to reprise his role as David?

CAPLAN: Because we didn’t have him so much, we had to make him a terrible father.

HELFORD: He really did not want to keep doing it. He loved us and we loved him, and he was always invited and we’re all very close with him. We were kind of in a position where, how do you explain this guy without killing him? This guy isn’t around. So unfortunately his character got tarnished in that way. Had he been there, he would’ve definitely been part of the Mark story, for sure.

DEADLINE: Lecy Goranson and Sara Gilbert were quite emotional in those final scenes.

HELFORD: Oh yeah. Yeah, for sure. People in the audience were crying, for God’s sake. When they say goodbye, Laurie Metcalf started it. We had no idea that was coming. The way Laurie said goodbye was not how you say goodbye after having pizza and knowing you are coming back the next day.

CAPLAN: It made no sense at all in the story, and yet when we saw it, we couldn’t deny it was so moving.

HELFORD: It was real. They were saying goodbye.

CAPLAN: You’ve got to go with it.

RASMUSSEN: We did other takes and that weren’t as emotional. They felt less real.

HELFORD: This was the actors saying goodbye to each other for the last time.

CAPLAN: John had pitched to us that he wanted to thank the audience to the camera. We knew there was going to be a break in the fourth wall at the end of that scene anyway, so we felt like all together, it wasn’t as jarring.

HELFORD: I don’t think I’ve ever seen it before on any show where the actors actually break the fourth wall and show their emotion. I can’t remember one.

RASMUSSEN: They earned that, man, for doing the show for as long as they did.

HELFORD: And the audience gets to see something very honest about how they felt, which is really terrific.

CAPLAN: All the actors felt this intense need to say goodbye to the audience, and that’s kind of where it all came from. How can you blame them?

DEADLINE: Did it take much convincing by John to get you to allow him to talk to the camera?

CAPLAN: Oh no. He’s really scary. We try not to say no to him if we can help it. He’s a big guy.

HELFORD: He’s such a sweet guy. Not all shows have this. Some are very fortunate, but the audience is part of our family and we’re part of theirs, and we really feel that on this show. You feel the connection with the audience and 37 years is a long time for these characters to have lived in people’s minds.

CAPLAN: Being on the other side of the monitor, when John did it, it was like, oh my God, it really hit you.

DEADLINE: How were the final months? Was there any regret from the actors that it was ending?

HELFORD: I think everybody would’ve been fine continuing forever.

CAPLAN: It didn’t feel stale in any way. The stories were still easy to come by and the actors were still finding things in the characters after all this time.

HELFORD: There were no contracts to go five years or seven years or anything like that. Every year we had a new contract and everybody had to agree that it was still worth continuing with that legacy. Every year we all agreed to continue, but all things do have to come to an end, and this was the right time. ABC granting us those six episodes gave it a real miniseries type of ending. So we had a cohesive line. It wasn’t just a bunch of episodes and then all of a sudden, an ending.

DEADLINE: In those final flashback moments, you didn’t include old clips of Roseanne. Why not?

    CAPLAN: It was contractual.

HELFORD: She was very gracious in allowing us to continue the show because she had a say in that. When she realized it would be putting 300 people out of work when the initial reboot was canceled, she gracefully allowed us to continue without her. It really was about these people. This show was really about the lives of these other people in the family, the Conners, and we wanted to focus on them.

(L-R) Laurie Metcalf, Nat Faxon, Sean Astin, Lecy Goranson, John Goodman, Katey Segal, Sara Gilbert, Jay R. Ferguson, Stony Blyden and Emma Kenny on ‘The Conners’ Christopher Willard/Disney

DEADLINE: Which one of you is going to take the afghan home?

HELFORD I don’t know where the afghan went. We had to reclaim a couple of props when we did the reboot. Michael Fishman had taken Godzilla home with him [after Roseanne]. We had to get that back. We had to make a new couch because somebody bought the one.

CAPLAN: I bet Sara has it.

DEADLINE: The last and most important question: What are you guys going to do now? Will you do another multi-cam?

RASMUSSEN: I was doing drama. I was at sitcom writer for years, and then I did drama for 10 years, and Bruce called me up and said, do you want to come back and do comedy? This was one of the few shows that you can do real gut-wrenching stuff, real honest stuff, and then do really funny stuff. So if these guys have something like that, I’m absolutely in.

HELFORD: Once you’ve seen the mountaintop on a show like Roseanne, then you really have to continue that honesty. It makes us feel great to honor the nobility of the working class. We all come from that, and that is something sorely lacking on TV. So yeah, we’re not done.

Happy’s Place Season 2 Gets Encouraging Filming Start Timeline From Showrunner Amid Reba’s Busy Schedule

Bobbie, Isabella and Emma in Happy's Place

On the heels of its season 1 finale, Happy’s Place season 2 gets an encouraging filming update. The NBC comedy, created by Kevin and Julie Abbott, follows Bobbie (portrayed by Reba McEntire) and her previously unknown half-sister, Isabella, who come to inherit a bar from their late father. Along with McEntire, the cast of Happy’s Place includes Melissa Peterman, Rex Linn, Pablo Castelblanco, Tokala Black Elk, and Belissa Escobedo as Isabella. Having garnered steady viewership and largely favorable reactions, the series was renewed for season 2 in February.

During an interview with ScreenRant for the Happy’s Place season 1 finale, Kevin Abbott revealed that, because of McEntire’s commitments to The Voice, pre-production on season 2 would likely begin in April. The showrunner confirmed that filming would occur in June and that “we have leftover ideas from what would’ve been season 1 that we didn’t get to.” Read his comments below:

So season 2, we’re actually starting up early. We’ll probably start pre-production mid-April because of Reba’s schedule on The Voice. We have to work around that. So we will start shooting again beginning of June. We do have leftover ideas from what would’ve been season 1 that we didn’t get to. So we definitely have those, and I’ll start up with the writers next week.

Abbott also explained that Happy’s Place season 2 will have more writers, who may bring their own suggestions, and that he will take free time “just to let my brain rest from living with these people.” He also has “a lot more energy” heading into season 2, and praises working with the show’s on-screen talent. Read the rest of Abbott’s comments:

We’ve got a couple of new writers coming on, so I want to be open to any ideas that they might have to take these characters places. And I’d like to take a week or two off just to let my brain rest from living with these people. They’re noisy. But I have a lot more energy for season 2 already than I would normally have at the end of a season. And really, this cast has been marvelous. It’s been a fun season doing this show with these guys.

What This Means For Happy’s Place Season 2

McEntire Is Crucial To The Series’ Success

Happy’s Place season 1 boasted impressive viewership numbers, likely attributed to McEntire and her broadcast comedy resume. Prior to the series, audiences were likely familiar with her long-running family sitcom Reba and a lot of anticipation was drummed up surrounding her reunion with former castmates, Peterman and Steve Howey. The ratings, highlighted by a relatively strong debut, suggest that McEntire could have another hit. Now, it’s worth wondering when Happy’s Place season 2 will release, as the show works around her schedule.

Happy's Place Emmett standing and looking confused

Throughout season 1, audiences watched as Bobbie and Isabella learned to cooperate while sharing ownership of the eponymous bar. Their relationship remains an engaging part of Happy’s Place and in the finale, titled “Alarm Bells,” Isabella managed to help Bobbie and Emmett (played by Linn) in their blossoming romance. With the season having ended around that storyline, future episodes could focus more on McEntire’s character being in love and potentially looking to Isabella for advice.

Our Take On The Happy’s Place Season 2 Update

Season 2 May Be Even More Entertaining

Following the finale and recent comments from Abbott, it will be interesting to see what possible plot details from season 1 get added to upcoming episodes. With new storylines potentially being incorporated as well, even more entertaining scenarios may play out in Happy’s Place season 2. Having previously collaborated on Reba, Abbott and McEntire could turn the series into a success for NBC moving forward, and considering how involved McEntire is as co-star and executive producer, having the ability to adjust production to meet her busy schedule will be important.

Emma Kenney smiling with a yellow circle around her next to an image of Reba McEntire and Melissa Peterman hugging in Happy's Place

Happy’s Place showrunner Kevin Abbott confirms that season 2 will expand its cast, with certain guest stars from season 1 returning in more significant roles. The NBC sitcom follows the life of Bobbie (Reba McEntire) as she runs her late father’s tavern, the titular Happy’s Place. The show balances heartfelt moments with sharp humor, creating a rich environment in which the ensemble cast shines. With Happy’s Place season 1 focusing on establishing the show and its characters, season 2 will bring back some key guest stars in more prominent roles.

In a recent interview with ScreenRant, Abbott shared that he intentionally limited the guest cast in season 1 to prioritize the main characters’ development. However, season 2 will bring back key figures like Maritza and Gracie, allowing the show to delve more into Bobbie’s personal life. Abbott also teased that more guest stars could appear, expanding the world of Happy’s Place. Read his full comments below:

Yeah, absolutely. Season 1, I wanted to keep the guest cast small. There’s only so much real estate for our characters, and I wanted our characters to have all the dialogue and whatnot, so I wanted the audience to get to know them. Season 2, we get to branch out a little bit more, and we saw Maritza, we saw Isabelle’s mom, we saw Gracie, Bobbie’s daughter, we saw Steve, we saw Chris.

Those two, especially Maritza and Gracie, are going to come back because I love the actresses. They were phenomenal. Their chemistry with our cast was marvelous, and the backstory behind them is going to be really interesting. I think there are stories to be told between Maritza and Bobbie and Gracie and Isabella. We plan on having them back. We plan on having a couple of other guest cast hopefully too, if they pan out. Some fun people to explore other areas of our characters’ lives.

What This Means for Happy’s Place Season 2

Expanding The World Beyond The Bar

Abbott’s confirmation of the returning guest stars suggests that Happy’s Place season 2 will go deeper into the personal lives of its main characters. With Maritza and Gracie set to have bigger roles, their storylines could provide more insight into Bobbie’s relationships with those outside her core circle. Bobbie’s dynamic with her daughter Gracie (Emma Kenney), who was deployed overseas and later returns to Knoxville to surprise her mother, only to be surprised to discover that she now has an aunt, could bring new emotional depth to the show, especially as Bobbie continues to adjust to her new responsibilities.

The mention of Maritza (Justina Machado) is also exciting. Her connection with Bobbie may introduce new layers of character development and drama. Maritza is the mother of Isabella, whom Bobbie discovers is her half-sister after learning her father had an affair with Maritza. Abbott’s enthusiasm for expanding the world of Happy’s Place also leaves the door open for even more guest appearances, possibly featuring familiar faces from The Conners or other sitcoms. By bringing in new characters while still focusing on the established relationships, season 2 has the potential to elevate the show while maintaining its humor.

Our Take On The Growing Happy’s Place Cast

A Promising Sign For Season 2

Bobbie, Isabella, and Emmett in Happy's Place season 1 finale

One of the biggest challenges for sitcoms is finding the correct balance between core character development and introducing new faces. Happy’s Place took a smart approach in season 1 by ensuring the audience had time to connect with Bobbie and the main cast before expanding its world. Now, with season 2 on the horizon, Abbott’s plan to bring back fan-favorite guest stars indicates that the show is evolving naturally while keeping its heart intact.

By expanding Bobbie’s relationships outside the bar, Happy’s Place can explore new storylines that keep the show fresh and engaging. Whether it’s diving into Bobbie’s role as a mother, showcasing new dynamics with Maritza, or introducing additional guest stars, season 2 is shaping up to be a compelling next chapter.

Adam Levine of Maroon 5 fame recently made his return to The Voice. However, a recent episode came with an impossible decision for the coach. In fact, Levine even mused about even leaving the series.

The Voice Recently Saw Adam Levine Make A Tough Decision During The Knockout Rounds

For many music fans, Levine is best known as the frontman for Maroon 5. However, he has also become known as a coach on various seasons of The Voice. Notably, a few of the seasons’ winners were from his team, including the first season.

Levine initially departed following the series’ sixteenth season. Following a rather long hiatus from the show, however, he returned as a coach on Season 27. For this season, Levine performs his coaching duties alongside returning faces John Legend and Michael Bublé, as well as new coach Kelsea Ballerini.

During this past Monday episode, as noted by Us Weekly, Levine was forced to make a hard decision following Ari Camille and Britton Moore performing in the knockout rounds. As Levine himself confessed, “It’s that time again.”

“I got to put good people against good people. There’s nothing I can do about that. It shows me that if you’re able to win this knockout round, you can go a lot further.”

As things proceeded, Camille performed Faith Evans’ “Love Like This” while Moore performed Zac Brown Band’s “Free.” On making a choice between the two, Levine noted, “It’s going to be hard.”

“There’s something about that Ari: she is special. But Britton is a bit of a chameleon. He’s exploring. That’s a good thing. Two very different singers. Two very good singers. It’s going to be tough.”

The Other Coaches Also Weighed In On The Two Performances

Fellow coach Ballerini couldn’t pick between the two herself. Bublé also couldn’t believe how young the two were. For his part, Legend shared, “Both of you earned the right to not leave this competition. I’ll tell you that.”

Levine then shared, “You guys both did exactly what needed to be done, which is amazing for you guys but super crappy for me. I feel like everyone’s going to be alright. I don’t know what I’m going to do yet. Please don’t ask me, Carson [Daly].”

It was at this point Levine joked that it might be an easier decision just to leave the show. As he mused, “I don’t know. I quit.”

However, a decision still had to be made. As Levine shared, “I think I’m going to go with the person who’s most ready to move forward right now and the winner of this knockout is Britton.” Levine later explained his decision, noting, “I went with my gut. Britton is so good. I couldn’t let him go.”

Legend then used his steal to bring Ari to his team. As he shared, “I really think she exudes star power. She’s back on Team Legend. Come on home!”

Blake Shelton is sharing his wife Gwen Stefani’s shocking breakdown during her time as a coach on The Voice. The duo really got to know each other on the reality singing competition. They went on to form a relationship and eventually got married. So, what is Blake revealing about Gwen’s breakdown? Keep reading for further details.

Blake Shelton Shares Gwen’s Shocking The Voice Breakdown

For the first twenty-three seasons of The Voice, Blake Shelton was a staple. He was the last remaining OG coach and outlasted everyone else, bringing home a plethora of wins. In Season 7, Gwen Stefani hopped on as a coach alongside Blake. They both were married, him to Miranda Lambert and Gwen to Gavin Rossdale. Yet, they ended their respective unions and began dating. In 2021, the duo went on to tie the knot and has been controversial ever since. Many have questioned if they are truly in love or if there is trouble in paradise as they are polar opposites in many ways.

Still, they have collaborated on songs and appeared to support one another in all of their endeavors. Now, Blake is opening up about a breakdown Gwen had while on The Voice. It occurred in Season 22 when they were both coaches, and Gwen realized it was the last time they would be coaching together. She left after that season, only to return for Seasons 24 and 26. Blake’s final season was 23, so she was not by his side for that. Of their final moments on the stage, he had this to say:

“I walked over to Gwen’s chair after the cameras went off, and she’s over there literally sobbing. She was like, ‘This is our last time that we’re going to do this together.’”

At the time, the emotions hit Blake Shelton as he also realized that they would never work together on the show again. This was where they met and fell in love, so it holds a very special place for the both of them:

“It will be the last time she and I do this together, and it is crazy to think of how the show changed my life. I was so wrapped up in this that I didn’t even think about that, and now you’re trying to make me emotional!”

Blake claimed he was leaving the reality series to focus on his family, plus he had many other endeavors he was working on.

Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani are a famous couple in the music industry who are known for spending time together, including a few duets. However, an inside source recently touched on the couple, noting that Gwen has recently grown concerned over her husband’s health. According to the insider, she already has plans set up to help her spouse.

Blake Shelton & Gwen Stefani Are Going To Spend Time Together On His Upcoming Tour

Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani married in 2021, first announcing their relationship in 2015. The two are known for working together on music, such as the songs, “Go Ahead and Break My Heart” and You Make It Feel Like Christmas.”

Both Shelton and Stefani are famous musicians themselves. In addition, both have become known as television personalities over the years, with both appearing as coaches on The Voice.

Recently, it was announced that Gwen Stefani is joining Blake Shelton on his upcoming tour. However, she might have an ulterior motive: she wants to help keep an eye on her husband’s health habits.

Reportedly, according to Radar Online, Shelton puts healthy habits on hold when he goes on tour. As an inside source shared, “She obviously misses him when he’s on tour, but the bigger reason is she wants to check up on him. When she’s not there, all his healthy habits go out the window – he gorges on fried food and gets lazy about exercise.”

Gwen Stefani Has Reportedly Shown Concern For Her Husband’s Health Before

As the publication noted, this isn’t the first time stories claimed Stefani was worried about Shelton’s weight. Last year, it had been reported she sent him to a “fat farm” to help him lose some pounds.

Keeping Shelton company on tour will naturally allow Stefani to keep an eye on him and monitor his habits, including both his diet and exercise. As the source added, “When she’s around, she makes sure that Blake eats well and that he works out – even though he doesn’t always appreciate it.”

According to the source, Shelton has mixed feelings on Stefani offering a helping hand. As they noted, “He enjoys a little space and feels the distance does them good, so he isn’t too happy about being treated like a junk-food junkie. But he also doesn’t push back.”

“[Shelton] finds it claustrophobic and irritating, but he’ll do what he’s told. The reason he got Gwen in the first place was his happy wife, happy life attitude.”

On Shelton’s website, fans can follow his upcoming tour dates. He is set to perform for “Country Thunder Florida” from May 2 to 4, 2025 in Tampa, Florida. In June, he is also set to make appearances in Panama City Beach, Florida, Nashville, Tennessee, and Salinas, California.

‘The Voice’ Scheduling Change Has Fans Up In Arms

The Voice’s recent scheduling change has fans up in arms because they did not get what they expected. Viewers who have watched for a long time know how the show works and when episodes will happen. Unfortunately, things did not go as planned and that caused quite a problem. Keep reading for more details.

The Voice Scheduling Change Has Fans Up In Arms

With The Voice, once the auditions are over, there are rounds that the singers must go through. They need to battle, knockout, and more. It has been this way since the show first began in 2011 and the formula has not changed much. This helps to properly shape the teams and the coaches get to see what they are working with. For Season 25, the coaches are Reba McEntire, John Legend, Chance the Rapper, and Dan + Shay, who are the first duo of coaches. It is said that the exciting part of the show is the fact that the coaches can rotate and switch in and out but it is also the talent.

However, this week, viewers saw a scheduling change with the show that they did not expect. More so, they did not like it one iota. According to Monsters & Critics, fans had expected the Knockout round to air this week. Unfortunately, that did not happen as they will have to wait one more week to see them go down. They were treated to a highlight reel of the blind auditions and battle rounds from the current season. This did not go down well and viewers expressed their disdain.

    Stream The Show

Fans felt that since The Voice can be streamed, the Knockout rounds could have been streamed for those who wanted to watch it. They did not see the value in watching a rerun and those who did not know it was not new were sadly so excited. Many sent out tweets in preparation for the upcoming Knockout round only to be let down. Hopefully, production and NBC will see the messages from fans and not do this going forward. However, if they do opt to put on repeat episodes, they will be more exciting than recaps.

Were you looking forward to seeing the Knockouts only to be disappointed they had been postponed? Let us know in the comments and watch The Voice on NBC.

Sadly, one of The Voice coaches is currently facing divorce. Undeniably, separation can take its toll on anyone, but having a highly visible life adds even more pressure. However, after five years, one coach is mutually parting ways with their spouse.

    Til Death Do Us Part

While vowing to stay together forever is a pretty common exchange at a wedding, unfortunately, it doesn’t always work out that way. After giving marriage a five-year shot, The Voice coach Chance the Rapper and his wife, Kirsten Corley, are moving forward with divorce. On Wednesday, April 3, Chance and Kirsten took to Instagram to inform the public. Saying, “After a period of separation, the two of us have arrived at the decision to part ways.” Furthermore, their joint Instagram Stories state, “We came to this decision amicably and with gratitude for the same time we spent together.”

Additionally, The Voice coach, aka, Chancelor Johnathan Bennett, and longtime friend and wife, Kirsten Corley, will still be linked after the divorce. While the couple’s decision to split doesn’t come easily, they will continue to co-parent even after their divorce. They say, “God has blessed us with two beautiful daughters who we will continue to raise together.” Both Chance and Kirsten request space for them to process upcoming challenges with their daughters: Kensli, 7, and Marli, 4. Further asking fans to give them “privacy and respect as we navigate this transition.”

Chance Knew Their Marriage Was His Destiny

Although the marriage between The Voice coach and musician, Chance The Rapper, is ending, he has many good memories. Previously, Chance discusses meeting Kirsten Corley when they were kids. Correspondingly, he remembers he was just 9 years old. Specifically, the duo met in 2003 while attending one of his mom’s real estate work parties. Furthermore, he tweeted in March 2019 some of his fond memories. First, he recalls, “locking eyes with the prettiest girl I ever seen in my almost-a-decade of life on earth.” She was performing a Destiny’s Child song with her friends as entertainment for the party.

But Chance also says, “I really shouldn’t even say locked eyes cause really, I was just staring at her; as she and her girls were conquering this choreography and mastering the art of lip-synching in a way even the most professional performers have yet to accomplish.” Good luck to both Chance the Rapper and Kirsten Corley as they hold on to the good times and continue forward.

    Tune In For The Voice

Catch Chance the Rapper on The Voice as he continues with his career while they work through the divorce. He rejoined the show saying, “I really love doing the show for a lot of reasons, and I think one of them is just the creative outlet that you get in collaborating with Artists, on re-imagining songs with The Voice band, which is one of the greatest bands and always has the greatest players on TV.” Notably, from April 1 to April 29, The Voice Season 25 will only air once a week. It is on Mondays at 8/7c with the Knockouts and then the Playoffs. Then, the Live Shows will begin on May 6. At that point, Season 25 will air twice a week again, on Mondays and Tuesdays at 8/7c on NBC.
