Ryan Seacrest’s ‘Wheel of Fortune’ Co-Star Vanna White Wants to ‘Set Him Up’

    Vanna White, matchmaker extraordinaire?

The longtime Wheel of Fortune co-host, 68, is apparently on the hunt to find host Ryan Seacrest a new love interest.

“She finds it very hard to believe that he’s single still. He’s handsome, he’s sweet and thoughtful, not to mention totally loaded. It boggles her mind that he can’t seem to meet someone he wants to be with,” a source revealed to Closer Weekly.

“She’s convinced that Ryan is getting in his own way by picking women that aren’t right for him,” the insider added. “She says if he just trusts her and lets her set him up that she’ll be able to find him the perfect match.”

Seacrest, 50, has been hosting Wheel of Fortune since September 2024. The Georgia native took over after Pat Sajack departed from the role after a whopping 41 years. Seacrest has also been hosting American Idol since 2002.

Moreover, his podcast, On Air with Ryan Seacrest, has been going strong since 2021.

“Ryan works so much these days that he hardly has time to get out and meet people, and he says he’s not a fan of the online thing, so he actually does need some help,” the source explained. “And he adores Vanna and doesn’t think she’d steer him wrong, so he’s agreed to go along with this, as long as she shows him some pictures first; he’s not going to blindly agree to a date.”

Seacrest’s last public relationship was with Aubrey Paige Petcosky. The pair split in April 2024 after three years together.

“After three beautiful years together, Ryan and Aubrey have mutually decided to part ways,” an insider told People at the time of their breakup. “They plan to stay in each other’s lives as good friends and support one another’s endeavors.”

Before Petcosky, 27, Seacrest dated Sara Jean Underwood, Julianne Hough, and Shayna Taylor.

Vanna White Teases Pat Sajak’s Upcoming Final ‘Wheel of Fortune’ Appearance (Exclusive)

Pat Sajak’s back, Wheel of Fortune fans! But that doesn’t mean he’s no longer retired from the celebrated game show, as Vanna White told Parade in an exclusive interview.

Vanna White (L) and Pat Sajak (R)

Viewers will see Sajak as host again for Celebrity Wheel of Fortune season 5 in episodes previously taped. The new edition premieres on Wednesday, April 30 at 8 p.m. ET on ABC and streaming on Hulu.

White told Parade while promoting the celebrity shows on Tuesday at Hulu’s Get Real House event in Beverly Hills, “It’s exciting, awesome. We filmed it a while back. It’s always great working with Pat after 41 years.”

Sajak, 78, announced his retirement as the host of Wheel in June 2023. His final episode of the show proper aired on June 7, 2024. It was the end of an era, and another TV stalwart, Ryan Seacrest, replaced Sajak as host alongside letter turner White. Seacrest made his spin show debut on September 9.

But Sajak’s saved celebrity shows will soon air. And, when asked about her relationship with him now, White said, “I do stay in touch with him. We’re great friends and always will be.”

Plus, Pat’s daughter Maggie Sajak is still part of the Wheel family! “She’s our social media correspondent,” White noted to Parade.

For Celebrity Wheel of Fortune, fans can expect a cast of stars, including The Office’s Rainn WilsonJosh GadTiffany HaddishJessica CapshawRegina HallVeep’s Matt WalshEllie KemperRachael HarrisJustin LongKatharine McPhee, and Joe Manganiello.

    White promised, “They’re all fun!”

The longtime TV beauty, 68, told Parade her work on Wheel always remains fresh because “every show is different. I have a different dress on, different puzzles. You never know what’s going to happen.”

When asked if she will ever retire from the game show, White said she takes things “one day at a time.”

The eternally upbeat star smiled, “I still love my job.”

In fact, although White and Sajak were a team for decades, she has transitioned seamlessly into working with Seacrest, and shared, “Ryan did his homework and when he joined the show. He said, ‘Listen, I will never replace Pat Sajak. I’m just filling in.’ He’s funny, he’s hard working, he’s a kind man, he’s professional. And he’s doing a good job.”

As for White herself, she commented about her TV icon status and getting recognized everywhere, “I’ve been on for 42 years, which is fine! I’m thrilled that someone still comes up to me and asks me for an autograph or a photo. That makes me feel very good.”

White was accompanied to the April 22 Hulu event by her son Nikko Santo Pietro, 30, a real estate agent. She also has a daughter, Gigi Santo Pietro, 27, a tattoo artist. “It’s great being a mom. I’m so proud of both of my children,” she gushed to Parade.

Other than spending lots of time working and being with her kids, White said, “I crochet, I Scrabble, I sleep. I wear my pajamas half the day.”

With her busy Wheel schedule, Vanna has earned a little rest!

CBS reveals ratings shock after Gayle King ‘freebie’ space ride that has ruined Katy Perry’s career

CBS Mornings enjoyed a rare, first-place finish last week – an occurrence fueled by Gayle King’s widely ridiculed trip to space.

Some 3.9 million viewers tuned into the spectacle the morning of April 14, new Nielsen numbers show.

NBC’s Today, meanwhile, managed 2.489 million total viewers on average in the same week – while Good Morning America at ABC averaged 2.655 million.

Following Monday’s performance, CBS Mornings dropped back to third – in both total viewers and the hallowed 25-54 demo.

The results show how CBS’s gushing and glossy coverage of the all-female flight Monday managed to move the needle, despite earning criticism at the same time.

CBS News is among several news organizations that forbid anchors and reporters from accepting ‘freebies’ and gifts – and reports indicate the cost for a single seat on the same rocket King and Katy Perry flew on clocks in at six or seven figures.

It is still unclear who – if anyone – paid for King’s jaunt into orbit.

Others are calling the carbon- – and money- -burning mission a tourist flight for rich, one seeking to check space travel off their respective bucket lists.

CBS and Blue Origin, meanwhile, have refused to say whether King was Jeff Bezos’s guest. His fiancée Lauren Sanchez was part of the expedition. It lasted an entire 11 minutes – enough to briefly erase CBS’s ratings woes on the morning show front.

It was also enough to make CBS Mornings the only morning offering to record positive week-to-week gains in both overall viewers and those aged between 25 and 54.

GMA was down a respective six percent and eight percent in both categories, while Today dipped four percent in the former and seven in the latter.

When it came to the week on average, CBS Mornings still recorded 36,000 less than next-best NBC, even with extra sets of eyes brought by King’s excursion.

In the advertiser coveted 25-54 demo, CBS Mornings, was up 10 percent year over year, showing how even young viewers tuned in.

Relative to 2024, CBS Mornings was up 13 percent in viewers in total – even with its 2,453,000 total for the week being the worst of the bunch.

Still, the statistics showed the Blue Origin flight bringing some respite in terms of ratings, despite it already looking like a PR debacle for those involved

This was after King, 70, compared herself to astronaut Alan Shephard. the first American to travel into space, and Perry, 40, emphatically kissed the ground upon touching down in West Texas.

She also scolded critics who branded the trip a ‘space ride’ and said using such language was sexist.

The optics of the mission have since been been branded as ‘tone deaf’ and ’embarrassing’.

'Now that I've done it, I really do feel I can take on anything,' King, 70, said upon touching down. 'Now that I've been through it, I know now that I could do it again'

Perry has become an international laughing stock and severely-damaged her reputation with her zero-gravity antics.

She posed for the camera with an excruciatingly earnest expression while in space, brandishing a daisy in honor of her daughter and plugging the set list for her upcoming tour.

Perry then tossed her hair melodramatically as she got back off the spacecraft before kissing the ground.

She waxed poetic about feeling ‘super connected to love’ after her post-flight photo-op, while thanking a reporter who referred to as ‘an astronaut’ rather than a passenger.

‘It’s not about singing my songs,’ the American Idol judge who celebrated her 40th with Bezos and Sanchez before the election overseas said.

‘It’s about a collective energy in there. It’s about us. It’s about making space for future women and taking up space and belonging.’

Her comments, as did King’s, spurred almost immediate backlash, leading an insider close to Perry to tell DailyMail.com she now regrets how she handled the trip

‘Katy doesn’t regret going to space,’ the source said, adding how the star now regrets ‘kissing the ground’ after the flight as well as her ‘close-up camera moments’ inside the capsule

‘It was life changing,’ they went on, reiterating Perry’s past, polarizing comments.

‘What she does regret is making a public spectacle out of it,’ the insider exclusively said.

Afterwards, CBS Mornings' meteoric rise fell back to earth, falling back behind Today and GMA

A non-celebrity faces a $300,000 fare to make the same trip, and a group of media all stars that included Warner Bros. boss David Zaslav and former Sony chief Howard Stringer reportedly aired their disapproval during a dinner in Manhattan Monday.

The trip will have given Bezos’-owned Blue Origin hundreds of millions of dollars of free advertising.

Other members of the superrich will likely be rushing to pay for seats. And the slick, flawless flight will also likely help Bezos land exceptionally-lucrative federal government space exploration contracts that have helped make SpaceX owner Elon Musk the world’s richest man.

Meanwhile, CBS’s struggling morning show – helmed by King, Nate Burleson, and Tony Dokoupil – just posted its lowest ratings since relaunching in 2021, dipping below 1.87 million viewers.

In response, CBS is moving from its lavish Times Square studio, returning the show to a comparatively cramped space at the CBS Broadcast Center on West 57th.

Real reason behind Kelly Clarkson’s mysterious extended absence from talk show revealed

THE REAL reason behind Kelly Clarkson’s mysterious absence from her talk show has been revealed after the host has been missing for an extended period of time.

The music superstar missed 10 episodes of her daytime NBC talk show in March and was away again this month, sending fans into a panic as they worried about why she was abruptly gone for so long.

Kelly, 42, missed two weeks of The Kelly Clarkson Show in late March without warning and returned earlier this month with no explanation of her absence.

While she did cite “personal reasons” as to why she stepped away, she did not disclose any further details.

As fans continue to speculate as to what is really going on, an insider has claimed that she had to flee to be with her ex-husband, Brandon Blackstock.

”Her ex-husband is sick and she took the kids to see him,” a source told NewsNation.

The former couple share two kids together: a daughter, River Rose, 10, and son, Remington Alexander, 9.

Brandon and Kelly wed in 2013, but went through a bitter split and a nasty custody battle when she filed for divorce in June 2020.

Their divorce proceedings were lengthy and involved a nasty court battle between the exes for custody of their children.

After years of battling it out, a judge ruled in 2023 that Kelly had won primary physical custody of her kids.

Following their split, Kelly moved from their Los Angeles family home to New York City where she now filmed her show.

Brandon, who was a former entertainment manager, left the industry to pursue a career in rodeo on his Montana ranch.

    FAMILY MATTERS

Previously, a source exclusively told The U.S. Sun that Kelly had been absent from her show as she “needed to be present” at home.

Kelly Clarkson suddenly missing from talk show again after mysterious absence as concerned fans ask ‘what’s going on-‘
“She has been dealing with a family matter and has needed to be present for it,” the insider said, assuring that it’s “nothing very serious.”

Her unexpected absence was first noticed during a taping on March 3.

Barbie actor Simu Liu filled in at the last moment for the taping, stating, “Kelly isn’t able to make it today. We’re sending her our very best.”

“I did not know that I was doing this until about five minutes ago when I arrived to promote my new movie Last Breath,” he said.

Brooke Shields also stepped in as guest host, along with several other well-known personalities stepping up to take her place while Kelly remained away.

Willie Geist was serving as the guest host for the American Idol winner on March 12.

Who are the past American Idol winners?

The previous American Idol winners include:

    Kelly Clarkson (2002)

    Ruben Studdard (2003)

    Fantasia Barrino (2004)

Kelly took back the reins of her show on Tuesday, March 18, and resumed hosting duties – but was absent unexpectedly once again in April.

The Already Gone singer hosted her show on Monday, March 31, but will miss the Tuesday episode after a long absence earlier in the month.

The show didn’t give a reason for her absence, prompting viewers to voice their worry for her health.

“I just want to know if Kelly is okay because it’s now been kind of a long time,” said one.

“Is Kelly okay?” asked another fan on social media.

A third said: “I respect Kelly Clarkson’s privacy, but I am very concerned about her.”

“Sad her followers aren’t being told why she missing,” commented a fourth.

Reba McEntire’s Family Faces Heartbreak: Son Shelby and Wife’s Year-Long Fertility Fight Exposed! A surprisingly vulnerable admission from Reba McEntire’s son, Shelby Blackstock, and his wife Marissa has rocked fans as they bravely unveil their emotional year-long journey through infertility. From navigating the uncertainties of natural conception to the hopes and disappointments of their first medicated cycle under Nashville’s top specialists, their raw honesty exposes the hidden battles faced by countless couples yearning to build a family, leaving many wondering what the future holds for the beloved country music dynasty.

Reba McEntire’s Son, Shelby Blackstock + His Wife Reveal Fertility Struggles

Shelby Blackstock, who is the only child of Reba McEntire, and his wife Marissa have been trying to get pregnant for over a year now — but they’ve faced some challenges along the way.

On Sunday (Nov. 26), Marissa shared a lengthy social media post detailing the fertility struggles she and her husband have encountered.

After trying through natural methods for some time, she explains, they enlisted the help of “Nashville’s top OBGYN,” and November marked their first medicated cycle. “Though it didn’t bring the news we hoped for, I’m reminded that success is about more than just results — it’s about gratitude for our health and each other,” Marissa writes.
Reba McEntire's Son Shelby + His Wife Reveal Fertility Struggles
“We’ve faced some scares,” she continues elsewhere in the post, explaining that she’s undergone an MRI for “prolactinemia-related concerns” as well as an HSG test, with results coming back clear for both. According to the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, hysterosalpingography (HSG) is “an X-ray procedure that is used to view the inside of the uterus and fallopian tubes,” and can show if the fallopian tubes are blocked or if the uterus is of normal size and shape.

“The two-week wait (TWW) has been full of ups and downs,” Marissa adds, referring to the two weeks between when ovulation occurs and when a pregnancy can be detected by a home pregnancy test. “I’m not looking for sympathy, but a bit of understanding goes a long way.”

“Life Update ❤️ To everyone who’s been part of our story, and those just joining: Shelby and I have been on our journey to start a family for over a year now. We’re under the care of Nashville’s top OBGYN, stepping forward with hope and resilience. This month was our first treatment cycle, and though it didn’t bring the news we hoped for, I’m reminded that success is more than just results – it’s about gratitude for our health and each other.

I have to say, Shelby has been an incredibly supportive partner through all of this. His strength and optimism have been my rock. Amid the challenges, we’ve found that it helps immensely to have little things to look forward to. A tip for anyone on a similar path: plan small, joyful activities regardless of the outcome. Like us booking a tee time at the Grand Opening of Puttshack – it was our way to ensure we’d have a moment of fun and connection, positive test or not.

We’ve faced some scares (MRI for prolactinemia-related concerns and HSG tests came back clear, thankfully), and the two-week wait (TWW) has been full of ups and downs. I’m not looking for sympathy, but a bit of understanding goes a long way.

I’m sharing our story openly because the silence around fertility struggles needs to be broken. It’s a tougher and more common journey than many realize. If you’re in the midst of this too, remember, you’re not alone. The emotional whirlwind is completely normal. Let’s keep supporting each other, finding joy in the small things, and holding onto hope. 💕 I’d love to hear your stories or words of encouragement. How do you stay positive during challenging times?”, Shelby Blackstock’s wife shares on her IG.

Although she speaks openly about the challenges and disappointments she and her husband are facing, Marissa’s post also sheds light on the positive side of their journey towards parenthood. “Shelby has been an incredibly supportive partner through all of this. His strength and optimism have been my rock,” she writes. “Amid the challenges, we’ve found that it helps immensely to have little things to look forward to.”
Reba McEntire Shares Tips On Raising Humble Children
Marissa concludes her message by explains she wants to help break the stigma and silence that often surrounds fertility issues.

“It’s a tougher and more common journey than many realize,” she points out. “If you’re in the midst of this too, remember, you’re not alone. The emotional whirlwind is completely normal. Let’s keep supporting each other, finding joy in the small things, and holding onto hope.”

Marissa also shared more of her experience on an Instagram Stories slide, posting a photo of a cocktail that she ordered to help ease the disappointment of a negative pregnancy test (which she refers to as a “BFN,” short for “Big Fat Negative.”)

“Helping myself to a spicy marg after a BFN,” she writes.

Blackstock and Marissa got married in Walt Disney World in February 2022. Of course, McEntire herself was on hand to celebrate, and she even took the spotlight once or twice during the festivities. The mother and son danced to “You’re Gonna Be (Always Loved By Me),” McEntire’s own 2005 release, and she even sang her hit “Fancy” for guests at the reception.

Reba McEntire and Melissa Peterman, whose work together on McEntire’s early-aughts sitcom Reba has lived on for decades in syndication and streaming — so much so that the series is arguably more popular today than when it first aired on the tiny WB Network. NBC is tapping into that lingering love by reuniting McEntire and Peterman for a new Friday-night sitcom, Happy’s Place, which casts Nashville icon McEntire as a woman who inherits her father’s neighborhood bar and a half-sister (Belissa Escobedo) she never knew existed. In true sitcom fashion, the two end up running the bar together, with Peterman serving as friend and sometimes foil to both.

While it’s been more than 15 years since Reba signed off the air, Peterman never stopped working on sitcoms, spending six seasons and 100 episodes on the ABC Family (a.k.a. Freeform) comedy Baby Daddy before landing a recurring gig as Brenda Sparks in CBS’s Young Sheldon, which ended its run last spring. She and McEntire also remained tight friends, with Peterman, a stand-up comedian, opening for McEntire’s music tours multiple times, co-starring with her in the Lifetime movie The Hammer, and co-hosting the first season of McEntire’s podcast Living & Learning. Should recent history repeat itself — and if the strong ratings for last week’s premiere are any indication, it just might — Peterman and McEntire will be hanging out on the Happy’s Place set until at least 2030. That is when Peterman’s not playing 25 Words or Less, hosting Person, Place or Thing, or appearing in Hallmark’s latest Christmas venture. (Yes, she’s got a show with the network coming up, too.)

I was looking at your IMDb credits, and what stood out to me was that Reba wasn’t just your breakthrough role — it was your first regular role in a TV show, period. You sort of did a reverse George Clooney and got a big hit with your first at-bat.
It’s not an understatement to say that that show changed everything for me, professionally and personally. I’ve got lifelong friends from it. Reba and I were talking about this just the other day — I was so young. It was my first job as a series regular. I just wanted to do a good job and keep my head down. I had no idea that it was going to be this thing, or that it would still be this thing how many years later. At the time, it was just “I have a job, and I like these people, and it’s fun.” Everything felt very new and different, and I was really observing and watching how things worked.

Reba did very well by the standards of the WB circa 2001, but it wasn’t a massive hit back then because the WB was such a relatively small network. Then it went into syndication and onto streaming, and its legacy seems to grow every year. In some way, it’s now bigger than it was when it was on the air. Is that how you see it?
Oh, absolutely. The WB was a great place to be, but people then had to look for us a little bit more. It did well for them, and people really liked it, but it was absolutely bigger in syndication. And now that we’re on Netflix, I see a whole other giant wave of it. Reba and I were lucky enough to be present at the Emmys not too long ago. There was a mom who loved the show who was probably in her 30s or maybe 40, and she had two of her little girls that were 8 or 9 and were just discovering Reba on Netflix. And they drove down to where we were doing the Emmys to wait outside to say hi to Barbra Jean and Reba. And the theme song is a giant thing on TikTok.

Is there an extended friends-of-Reba universe? She does music, she does reality TV, she does acting. I can see there being parties where it’s you, Kelly Clarkson, and who knows who else.
Oh, yeah, Reba is a bridge that brings a lot of people together. It’s so fun because she knows Dolly and Snoop. I have been lucky enough to be at places because of Reba and you’re like, “How cool is it that I’m getting to meet…?” One time, I was with her in Nashville, and she’s like, “Hey, do you want to drop by the studio with me? I’ve got to do something.” So Vince Gill walked in and I was just losing it. I said, “You need to warn people! To you that’s no big deal, but it usually is a big deal.”

Let’s talk about Happy’s Place. How did you hear about the show and was there ever a question whether you’d say yes to joining it?
After the original show ended, Reba and I remained friends. We vacationed together. Even if she was in Nashville and I was in L.A., we made an effort to take care of the friendship part. We always knew we wanted to work together again. The dream was a multi-cam because we want that camaraderie and that collaboration with our cast. A few projects would come up, but they didn’t work out. Years go by and you think, Well, is it going to happen? Are we going to get another chance at this? Reba’s always been a believer of what’s supposed to happen will, and when the time is right, it will. So I didn’t allow myself to get disappointed.

At some point, Kevin Abbott, who was our showrunner back on Reba, and his wife Julie came to us with an idea. They pitched it and I thought it was a great concept. Reba did, too. Then they wrote the pilot, then NBC liked the pilot, then we were going to make the pilot. At every step, I’d get a little more like, “Oh my God, could it happen?” And that’s where we are now. Belissa, who plays Reba’s half-sister on the show, is 26, and she said something to Reba in an interview recently: “You guys just had to wait for me to grow up so I could be in the show.” And I think that’s right, because she’s perfect for it.

I’d imagine the writers of Happy’s Place are trying to capture the chemistry you and Reba had on the first show. But your new character, Gabby, is not just a carbon copy of Barbra Jean, right?
Well, Barbra Jean was sort of forced on Reba because of a marriage, and Gabby works with her. It’s a different relationship. Gabby is a friend, but a friend who always wants to be closer. My character is definitely a little bit quirky, but she’s more savvy than Barbra Jean. We know the fans want what they loved about Reba, which is that chemistry, and we do maintain that. It’s almost like repertory theater, where we’re characters in a new play. We’re like eight episodes into taping, and I feel like I’m getting to know Gabby now. Ultimately, the show is about these three women that are in different places in their life — different ages, different backgrounds — who all have something to learn from each other.

Before Happy’s Place, were there any discussions about doing a proper reboot or continuation of Reba, like the current resurrection of Frasier?
There was always talk of whether a reboot was possible. Sometimes it was about who owned the show or what cast members were available. But it didn’t really pan out. I think that’s when the idea of, “Well, if that’s not going to work, let’s try to figure out a way that we can still do something together.” There’s always a possibility there could be some sort of a reunion movie or a reboot, and Reba and I are hopeful that the cast of the original show will come do something with us sometime on Happy’s Place.

With Reba and Baby Daddy, you’ve been a regular on two shows that lasted 100 or more episodes. Then you were in like three dozen episodes of Young Sheldon. That’s a lot of success for a TV actor, and certainly a rarity. But in all of those shows, you carved out a role as a No. 2 or a supporting player versus the lead. Was there a point where you decided that leaning into that role made more sense than, say, doing a dozen one-season shows where you’re a lead?
A lot of it is not in your control. There’s a superpower in being the supporting person, and it’s a skill. There’s no ego in it, because the reality is if she looks good, I look better; if I look good, she looks better. That’s the secret. In an ensemble cast, if somebody has a great moment and they get the longest laugh ever, no one should be jealous. They should be like, “Oh, we all got the longest laugh ever.” No one’s counting the laughs.

Also, I’m drawn to that kind of supporting character. When you’re not the lead, you get to be a little crazier. At least that’s what I tell myself. [Laughs.]

And if you think about something like The Mary Tyler Moore Show, where one person’s name was in the title, every actor in that ensemble was just as crucial to the success as the other. They were all huge in their own way.
Exactly. When you have great writing and you have a great cast, everyone is a star at some point.

You also got super lucky with your first movie role, and I know this because I’ve heard you talk about it on 25 Words or Less: You played Hooker No. 2 in Fargo. How did that happen?
A casting director out of Chicago, Jane Brody, had come to my college to teach a semester of auditions and cold reading. I was a senior with a theater major, and I took her class, and she remembered me when she started casting for Fargo. She brought me in to audition for the Coen brothers. I believe I went in for a different role first — I think the other lady of the evening. I got called back in weeks later and they started pairing me with other actors. I got it from taking a class in college, really.

That must have been insane for someone just starting out.
The audition was very surreal. I remember I asked Joel Coen for change for the vending machine. I didn’t know who he was when he walked in right before the audition. Obviously, I knew who the Coen brothers were, but it wasn’t like now with social media. You didn’t know people’s faces very well, so I didn’t recognize them. He gave me change for a dollar so I could get a Mountain Dew before my audition.

On the unscripted side, I started watching you regularly on Meredith Vieira’s syndicated game show 25 Words or Less during the pandemic. It has become one of my favorite things on TV. I know the pay isn’t great in daytime TV, so what’s made you do so many episodes of it?
I love watching game shows, and I love playing them. I got asked to do the first season of 25 Words in 2019, and I just clicked with Meredith. We had such a fun time. When they came back for season two, which filmed during the start of the pandemic, they said, “We want to have you on more. We think you’re a great player.” I’m so grateful they did because that show saved my brain during COVID. Just getting out of the house and getting to use my mind was wonderful. And then to watch somebody win money made me feel better during that awful time. And Meredith’s like my big sister. She gives me great advice all the time.

The relationship you built on 25 Words led to you hosting Person, Place or Thing, which is from the same syndicator. What’s the difference between hosting versus being a regular player?
What I love about hosting is that I just get to be myself. I genuinely enjoy the contestants, and my job is to make them comfortable, make them shine, and to listen. A lot of it is improv. If you let the players talk and you’re in the moment and present, something funny will just happen. The other part is, I love giving away other people’s money. That’s joyful to me. As a player, I’m probably not as enjoyable because I’m very competitive. But I don’t have to compete as a host.

The other fun thing you’ve done recently is appear in the Haul Out the Holly Christmas movies for Hallmark. Is there a third one in the works?
I believe there is a desire for Haul Out the Holly 3. It obviously won’t be this Christmas season. But that was a magical cast. I got to improvise a line with Stephen Tobolowsky, which was a dream come true. He’s the funniest human ever. But next I am a judge on Finding Mr. Christmas, which is on Hallmark+. Jonathan Bennett is the host, and it’s ten guys competing to be the next Hallmark leading man. It’s really, really fun.

What about the Melissa Peterman Hallmark Christmas movie? When are we getting your Christmas romance?
I’m thinking about that. I’m probably not the typical romantic lead, but it would be fun. I am always thinking about what I want to do with them.

Sometimes romance reveals itself in funny ways. Such is the case with Reba McEntire who has her longtime boyfriend Rex Linn saved in her phone in a very specific–and very cute—way.

McEntire has been friends with Linn since 1991, when they met on the set of Kenny Rogers’ The Gambler Returns: The Luck of the Draw. The two Southerners discovered they had a mutual friend and both grew up in Oklahoma, but that was that.

The two were friendly, but when they reconnected in January 2020 the relationship changed. It started when McEntire was a guest star on Young Sheldon and Linn invited her to what turned out to be a very pivotal dinner.

Sparks flew, but the world went into lockdown soon after and the new couple was kept apart. Linn was in Los Angeles and McEntire in Oklahoma so the two built up a special bond by “talking and texting every morning, afternoon, and night,” McEntire told us.

While the two have “been pretty much inseparable since June 16th, 2020”, according to McEntire, because their relationship started via the phone when they were miles apart with no chance of seeing each other, it has played an important role in their romance.

So it’s not incredibly surprising that McEntire has held on to a sweet memento from that time. Specifically in the way she has Linn’s contact information saved in her phone.

McEntire told TODAY that she still has Rex saved in her phone as “Rex Linn, long-distance boyfriend.”

“I haven’t changed it since 2020,” McEntire explained. While the couple are starring alongside each other in the new sitcom Happy’s Place, apparently McEntire likes to keep a little reminder of how it all began.

Beloved actor Tim Allen has finally offered a significant update on the development of “Toy Story 5,” and what he revealed will have every fan buzzing with excitement and speculation

Tim Allen Reveals Major TOY STORY 5 Update

Tim Allen teased that Jessie will play a major role in TOY STORY 5 as the narrative switches to her after an epic opening scene with Buzz Lightyear.

“I can tell you that [TOY STORY 5] is a lot about Jessie,” Allen told WIVB 4 radio. “Tom [Hanks] and I do — Woody and I — do realign. And there’s an unbelievable opening scene with Buzz Lightyear. I can give you that, but I can’t give you much more.”

Creating a fifth story in the franchise has left some fans wondering if Disney is focusing on a cash grab, but prior comments from those working on the project have addressed these concerns. Allen’s revelation about the focus of the story also helps ease these worries because, rather than finding another story for Woody and Buzz to star in, the writers appear to have allowed themselves to explore a plot line they could only now tackle.

“It’s a very, very clever story,” Allen told Collider last December. “I don’t really believe it’s about the money. I’m sure they want it to be a success, but that’s not why they did it. Had they not come up with a brilliant script, they wouldn’t have done it and they wouldn’t have called me and Tom [Hanks]. It’s really clever.”

The fifth movie in the franchise will also tackle a completely new problem that faces children today. Instead of worrying about how to keep their kid entertained as they grow up, the gang is struggling to keep Bonnie interested in anything not having to do with a device. The first teaser image for the movie revealed last year featured Bonnie hunched over a tablet as the toys looked on in dismay.

“[Through these characters] we’re learned all about loyalty and belonging and friendship. These characters have given us a unique perspective on growing up and navigating life and in all the TOY STORY films, above all else, the job of the toys has been to be there for their kids,” writer and director Andrew Stanton told the audience at Disney’s D23 conference. “With TOY STORY 5, the toy’s jobs get exponentially harder when our toy crew goes head-to-head with what kids are obsessed with today: Electronics.”

As TOY STORY 5 makes multiple shifts in its focus, parents can only hope that the movie remains grounded in the values that has made the franchise such a success. While we will get more information as the movie nears it release, audiences won’t really know until the movie hits theaters on June 19, 2026.

McEntire told NPR’s All Things Considered she “wanted to work with the same people that I know and love” ever since Reba ended in 2007. The Queen of Country has added her touch all over this sitcom; she also provided her vocals and co-wrote the Happy’s Place theme song with Carole King.
