Blake Shelton reignites old ‘The Voice’ feud: ‘This would be some Adam Levine-level failure’

For the first 16 seasons of “The Voice,” Blake Shelton and Adam Levine fully embraced their “frenemy” relationship as they frequently made fun of each other. Even though Adam left NBC’s reality TV series years ago, Blake still occasionally finds a reason to throw the pop singer under the bus. Case in point, during the April 4 episode of Season 23, Blake reignited the old feud when his artist Neil Salsich had to perform solo because his duet partner Alex Whalen withdrew from the competition.

“I told Neil before he came out here, I said, ‘Man, if you lose this battle it will be the worst fail in history. I mean, this would be some Adam Levine level failure stuff,’” Blake explained to fellow coaches Kelly ClarksonChance the Rapper and Niall Horan. For the record, all of the panelists thought Neil’s rendition of “I Heard It Through the Grapevine” was amazing, with Blake raving, “You absolutely nailed it.”

Blake later walked over to Kelly’s position at the other end of the stage and declared, “That’s the chair [Adam] used to sit in.”

“Oh my gosh!” she yelled back. “The only reason why I’m in this chair is to separate us.”

Blake later heaped more praises upon his 34-year-old artist from St. Louis, Missouri, noting, “Neil’s performance was completely comfortable. I mean, the guy really did own the moment. He blew the coaches away and I just think America is gonna fall in love with this guy.”

Adam’s departure from “The Voice” in 2019 caught everyone off-guard as he was expected to return to the judging panel the following season. Many viewers suspected his decision to leave was influenced by the Season 15 controversy in which he infamously instructed people at home to vote for one of his artists (Reagan Strange) instead of the other (DeAndre Nico). In a statement, Levine said at the time, “For me, it was time to move on … What an amazing ride.”

The Season 23 blind auditions and battles are behind us, with the knockouts beginning on April 17, 2023. That’s when country superstar Reba McEntire will serve as the mega mentor for all four coaches’ teams. She previously appeared as the mega mentor in Season 8, and before that, as an advisor to Team Blake in Season 1.

The Voice season 25 deemed ‘unwatchable’ due to ‘too many country coaches’ taking over chairs

THE Voice fans have complained about the show barely 24 hours after the premiere episode of its 25th season. The Voice viewers shaded the program on social media for producers having certain singers as coaches.

Currently, music stars Chance the Rapper, Reba McEntire, Dan + Shay, and John Legend, are the vocal coaches serving on The Voice this year.

Dan + Shay took One Direction alum Niall Horan’s spot on the series after he chose not to return for Season 25.

As it stands now, country singers make up 50% of The Voice’s coaching circle.

This statistic doesn’t sit well with some viewers.

In a thread on Reddit, supporters of The Voice explained why certain coaches perturbed them.

“I can’t be the only person annoyed that Country Western (CW) is overshadowing everything. If CW had its own show it would be better,” one critic ranted.

“If the music industry picked the winner it would also be better. America voting is a train wreck.”

“Some of the world’s best singers would have been voted off the show. That is ridiculous,” they continued.

“I usually watch until the voting starts. This year that double team stunt makes the whole thing unwatchable for me…”

“Who thought it was a good idea to have 3 country judges,” a viewer asked.

Gwen Stefani drops subtle sign of marital status to husband Blake Shelton on her nails in new home video
“I absolutely hate country music. Having the country duo instead of someone different from all the rest is what they should have done. I’m not watching this season,” another slammed.

“I haven’t watched it yet maybe today but I have been fearing that. Especially the way the voting went last season,” third person added.

While some were in agreement that too many country singers dominated The Voice, others saw no problem with it.

“Just because others have different music preferences doesn’t make it wrong,” one person shared.

“Several Voice alums have been successful on country radio… so yeah, country artists are going to be featured,” another added.

    ALMOST HAPPENED?

Rumors circulated that former coach Gwen Stefani, 54, would rejoin the panel.

However, the Don’t Speak singer was not announced in the new cast list.

Near the end of September 2023, the 54-year-old hitmaker returned with her co-stars for Season 24 of The Voice.

During Reba’s debut, Gwen cozied up to and sang with her, John, and Niall, 30.

The Tremors scream queen filled in for the empty seat left by Gwen’s husband, Blake Shelton, 47, who retired from the show at the end of Season 23.

At the time, Blake left the talent competition show to spend more time for his family.

Throughout February, the God’s Country singer has been busy promoting his Back to the Honky Tonk tour and performed at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit, Michigan.

Meanwhile, Blake’s wife has been preparing to take the stage again soon with her former band, No Doubt, at Coachella in April.

Gwen will reunite with her ex-bandmates – bassist Tony Kanal, guitarist Tom Dumont, and drummer Adrian Young – as they have not performed together in almost a decade.

Gayle King and Norah O’Donnell are locked in a heated power struggle at CBS in the wake of former network president Neeraj Khemlani announcement that he would be stepping down.

The two news personalities “see his departure as a way to impress” his future replacement and “establish their dominance,” spilled a source.

“Given their audience numbers, they might both end up losers!” the source added.

This comes only weeks after Khemlani’s departure from the popular news network.

“I have some news to share today, and I don’t want to bury the lede. After an exhilarating run, and before the next season starts, I’ve decided to step back from my current role and start a new exciting chapter,” he told CBS staffers in a memo.

“[I am] looking forward to slipping my reporter’s notebook back into my pocket and heading out on a new adventure,” he shared.

Although Khemlani did not elaborate on what led to his decision to leave CBS, RadarOnline.com reported that the former exec had been investigated by an outside law firm after several female staff members complained about his allegedly disrespectful behavior toward them.

Per the complaints, Khemlani reportedly had a “combustible temper” and was accused of being “rude” and “micromanaging” employees. He also allegedly went on a tirade at Chief Financial Officer Stacey Benson and another female executive during a meeting in April.

“They had a breakdown after the meeting,” an insider claimed, referring to both women. “They were shaken.”

Although the findings of the investigation were not shared at the time, an insider stated: “If he were found to have violated any HR policies he would not be continuing to have an ongoing relationship with CBS.”

The Wheel of Fortune set is undergoing another change. This comes after they unveiled their new puzzle board and design changes at the start of Season 40. The executive producer teased the upcoming set change in a new behind-the-scenes video shared on social media.

Bellamie Blackstone is excited about what’s to come. She shared the details of the new episodes that will roll out for the remainder of the milestone season. It’s already been a season of highs and lows. Most fans have been mixed on the changes that have taken place on the set.

    Bellamie Blackstone teases new changes

In a new behind-the-scenes interview shared on Twitter, Bellamie announced that Sweetheart Week will return to Wheel of Fortune. This is when couples play together on the game show. This is a big deal since they haven’t had couples on the show since before the pandemic. Teen Week will also make a comeback.

College Week will take place over spring break. Bellamie shared some advice for teens who want to try out for the popular game show. She feels that those who are good with words should apply to earn a spot on Wheel of Fortune. Prior to all that, Secret Santa will return for the holiday season.

However, the biggest change has to do with the set. Producers plan to take Wheel of Fortune on the road for its XL season. They didn’t share details on its new location. This will include a major set design. Fans should notice these changes by early 2023.

Wheel of Fortune Season 40 puzzle board has fans mixed

Back in September, Wheel of Fortune partnered up with NASA to design its new puzzle board. It made history by incorporating technology into its classic game show. They unveiled the new look before the Season 40 premiere. The game show returned on September 12 with long-running hosts Pat Sajak and Vanna White.

Per Reader’s Digest, the original puzzle board required the use of individual monitors that relied on touch. The new one contains one large screen that requires a slight hover over each letter. This is due to the use of LIDAR technology, also known as laser technology. The new Wheel of Fortune set would also include new “graphics and logos.”

At the time, Bellamie revealed that this season of Wheel of Fortune would have “bigger prizes [and] bigger puzzles.” Players are winning more money than ever. There are even more changes to get your hands on the million-dollar prize. However, fans were mixed about the new puzzle board.

It’s the end of an era on the E! Network. Everyone’s favorite professional host and face of award show interviews, Ryan Seacrest, has announced that he is leaving his longtime gig as co-host of E!’s Live from the Red Carpet. After over a decade of grilling celebs and Hollywood A-listers on the finer points of their fashion choices with Giuliana Rancic by his side, the 50-year-old announced in an Instagram post that he’s moving on.

Under a smiling photo donned in a tux with an E! emblazoned microphone, the man who has made millions as a professional master of ceremonies broke the news to fans and followers, sharing, “After 14 years of hosting E!’s Live from the Red Carpet I’ve decided to move on to new adventures.”

With American Idol, the production of Keeping Up With the Kardashians, his radio show “On Air with Ryan Seacrest,” and his co-hosting duties on Live with Kelly and Ryan, it’s no wonder Seacrest might want to free up a little bit of time in his busy schedule. Especially after, as USA Today notes, the consummate entertainer gave everyone a scare last summer after (what was later diagnosed as) exhaustion caused him to stutter and slur his way through the American Idol virtual finale.

A replacement for Ryan Seacrest has not been named by E! yet

Although the announcement certainly came as a surprise to fans, it’s obvious Ryan Seacrest’s relationships with his co-workers and E! Network executives are intact and positive. His departure announcement concluded by thanking everyone from crew to fans for the wonderful experience, poignantly stating, “I’ll miss the whole crew that works so hard behind the scenes and of course my amazing partner Giuliana. Thanks to everyone for watching all these years.”

Amidst the messages from fans and well-wishers, many fellow E! employees joined in to send Seacrest off. Among them, Fashion Police‘s Brad Goreski who wrote, “You are a legend Ryan!” And E! News anchor Jason Kennedy who shared, “It was a pleasure brother.” Even an official statement by E! came with accolades for the longtime host, “E! has long enjoyed our relationship with Ryan over the years especially as co-host of E!’s signature red carpet series. He has been instrumental in giving viewers a front row seat to some of Hollywood’s biggest nights. We are extremely appreciative of his many contributions and he will always be part of the E! Family” (via TV Insider).

As the next major red carpet event quickly approaches with the Golden Globes slated to air on Feb. 28, the New York Post reported that no replacement host has been named by the network yet. It’s certainly hard to imagine anyone else filling those Ryan Seacrest shoes!

The Price Is Right was abruptly taken off the air on Friday and fans took to social media to express their concerns. Why was the beloved game show interrupted and when will it return to its regular schedule? Continue reading to find out.

CBS Breaking News Report Interrupts The Price Is Right

Fans took to social media to beg CBS to put The Price Is Right back on when it was pulled from television on Friday. The network interrupted the show’s regular schedule for breaking news on Friday.

Right before The Price Is Right was slated to begin, CBS broke into the feed with breaking news from the Supreme Court. This cut off the first few minutes of the game show, which meant that viewers didn’t get to see the intro or the first contestant.

The Supreme Court ruled that hundreds of people were improperly charged in relation to January 6. CBS broke the news about the court’s decision, cutting off all regularly scheduled programming.

Instead of starting at the beginning, The Price Is Right picked back up six minutes after the breaking news alert was over. Viewers missed the first six minutes of the show and it cut in during a commercial break. Fans were furious.

They missed the introduction for Friday’s show as well as the first contestant winning their prize. Fans didn’t hesitate to take their complaints to social media.

Fans Beg CBS To Change Their Approach

Calling out CBS News, one user wrote, “Get off the air and put Price is Right on!” Another wrote, “@CBSNews OK Already! You told us about the ruling now get off the TV. You aren’t even saying anything relevant now.”

A third person chimed in, “I’ve been through enough these last 16 hours, CBS, I just wanna watch the Price is Right,” referring to Thursday night’s presidential debate. “I was watching the Price is Right and they broke in for breaking news about the Supreme Court,” yet another viewer complained.

Viewers know that this isn’t the first time the game show has been interrupted recently. In May, The Price Is Right was taken off air for another breaking news segment. This time, it was a speech from President Joe Biden addressing protests that were happening on college campuses around the United States.

Fans’ biggest complaint is that the news could wait until after the game show is over at noon. Typically, there is a news report at that time anyway, so unless the news is actually urgent, they shouldn’t interrupt regularly scheduled programming.

Drew Carey reveals secret about ‘Price Is Right’ contestants

    Drew Carey

Drew Carey knows if you’ve been boozing before “coming on down” to Contestants’ Row.

Carey, in an interview with TV Insider, revealed his belief that audience members on “The Price Is Right” frequently show up to the tapings a little tipsy, or even high.

“Oh, that happens here all the time,” Carey, 66, said in response to TV Insider’s Kate Hahn, who asked whether he thinks some of the contestants use a little “liquid courage” before arriving at the studio.

“They’ll have a gummy or I’ll smell alcohol on their breath. Not unusual,” Carey continued, before claiming he later learned one contestant was actually on mushrooms during his appearance.

“He was a sketch [comedy] guy,” Carey said. “I found out later when I went to UCB [sketch improv theater, United Citizens Brigade] to hang out and they were like, ‘Did you see that guy who claimed to be a skateboarding rabbi?’ I asked him what he did for a living. And he goes, ‘I’m a skateboarding rabbi.’ He didn’t think he was going to get picked, and he totally tripped.”

Carey is currently wrapping up his 18th season as the host of “The Price Is Right” — a milestone that makes him the longest-tenured game host of a game show still currently on the air, TV Insider noted. (Pat Sajak previously held the title before his retirement this year.)

Carey, in the interview, also indicated that he intends to stay with the show for as long as CBS will have him and perhaps even break Sajak’s record for the longest-running host of any game show.

The contestants, he added, are a big part of why he enjoys the gig and hopes to continue hosting.

“Regular people are more interesting than celebrities. Honestly,” Carey said. “They’ve all had their own problems to overcome and their own demons, to get their own special lives. I learn more from them than I do from anybody.”

It also doesn’t hurt that “The Price Is Right” is a positive atmosphere, according to Carey. It’s largely because he — along with everyone in the audience, and everyone watching at home — is rooting for the contestants to win, he said.

“It’s not my money — it’s CBS’s money, and we’re all trying to take it together,” he joked.

“The Price Is Right,” which airs on CBS, is nearing the end of its 52nd season, with its final new episodes scheduled through early July. The show’s current iteration, which debuted in 1972, was originally hosted by Bob Barker before Carey took over hosting duties in 2007.

‘The Price Is Right’ Fans Demand Removal of Game That’s ‘Too Hard’ & ‘Not Fun’

Every episode of The Price is Right features an undisclosed assortment of games, and that variety is part of the appeal. But fans are offering their two cents about the “3 Strikes” game, which they claim is “not fun” after 14 players lost consecutively with no winner in a staggering three years.

For those unfamiliar, “3 Strikes” is a pricing game that debuted on TPIR on February 12, 1976. In it, contestants can win a brand-new luxury car by correctly guessing its price. The contestant is shown eight baseballs: five white ones with non-repeating numbers on them, yubi, each representing one of the five numbers in the car’s price. There are also three red “strike” balls with an X on them.

After all eight balls are shuffled into a rotating drum, the contestant blindly draws a ball from the bag. If they pick a numbered ball, they must correctly put it in the right position of the car’s total price. If they’re right, the ball is discarded, and the digit is lit up in the price display. But if they’re wrong, the ball goes back into rotation. However, if the contestant draws a red ball with a strike, a foghorn sounds instead, and an X marker is lit on the board before the ball is discarded. If the contestant draws three strike balls, the game ends.

    the-price-is-right-3-strikes

On Monday, November 18’s episode a player bombed out with zero correct guesses and gave a big thumbs down mid-way (above) looking frustrated. She sarcastically told Drew Carey, “I love your positivity!” as she floundered. After she lost, Carey exclaimed, “That was a rough one” and the audience fell silent.

After it aired, a fan started a discussion in the TPIR Reddit forum, arguing that the segment is “too hard” and others agreed.

“3 Strikes is not a fun game,” the fan titled the post. The user continued, “Every time the contestant pulls a strike Drew says it’s good because there’s one less strike to worry about. That’s specious reasoning and it annoys me so much. Today the contestant even said ‘I love your positivity’ to Drew. I like to think she meant it sarcastically. This game is just way too hard. Sure, it’s played for a very expensive car, but the odds are so low and it’s based mostly on luck. I get annoyed every time it’s played. Does anyone know the winning statistics on this game?”

Another fan replied, “I don’t have the exact stats but there was a period of time where someone only won once in 6 years during a particularly bad drought. I can also say that, even if you play perfectly and guess all 5 digits correctly as you pull them out, your odds of winning that game are 37.5%. So even a perfect play will only win 1/3 of the time. I put ‘3 Strikes,’ ‘That’s Too Much’, and the dollar game in the same grouping as barely winnable games. At least 3 Strikes is always for an expensive vehicle, I guess.”

“I legitimately can’t remember the last time I saw a player get more than 1, maybe 2 numbers before striking out so I’m not a fan of this game either lol,” wrote a third.

“Not much of a spoiler but surprise, she got zero numbers,” wrote a fourth about Monday’s episode.

“As soon as I saw that game, I knew she would lose,” wrote a fifth. “It’s the “F*** you contestant, you’re not getting a car” game.

“I despise 3 strikes. Way too much luck involved,” wrote a sixth.

“It would be nice to be able to buy another chance with a pricing game after 2 strikes and call it a “foul tip” with a successful price,” wrote a seventh.

“And it takes forever to lose. Just a long, annoying, slim chance to win game,” wrote an additional fan.

“The last time we had a win was January 18, 2021 where a Range Rover was won,” observed one more. We currently went through 14 playings without a winner.” According to TPIR Fandom, there hasn’t been a winner since January 2021.
