‘Price is Right’ contestant claims he is the ‘old’ Drew Carey and we totally see the resemblance

Contestants try different things to grab attention during their appearance on “The Price is Right,” and this could include weird dances to peculiar entrances, and even interesting t-shirts. Several celebrity lookalikes have also made it to game shows in the past, and Drew Carey, as a popular host, yubi, has also come face-to-face with his own doppelgangers.

During one such episode, a contestant looking like the host from the past showed up on stage. The man was named Michael, and he wore a t-shirt that said, “The old Drew here to visit the new Drew.” He was able to win Contestants’ Row and join the host.

“What’s up, buddy?” the host asked the contestant as he made his way onto the stage. “The old Drew, how are you doing, buddy?” he added, as the two of them stood side by side on the stage. Their height might not have been the same, but it certainly looked like a blast from Carey’s past. The host even took it a step further with his request to the producers.

Carey asked them to show a picture of himself back in the day and now on the bottom of the screen as he stood on the stage with the contestant. The showrunners obliged, and viewers at home were able to see and compare.

Michael revealed that he worked in the US airforce before it was time for him to play. Fans loved the moment and even claimed that he won a car on the show in the comments section of the clip on YouTube.

“Well Drew we got something special for the old Drew. A NEW CAAAAAARRRRR!!!!!” one user commented. “Congratulations Bro! we’re so happy to see you here and so glad you won a brand new CAR,” another user wrote. “I feel like it’s cheating to let old Drew win just because he time traveled to the future,” joked a third fan.

This is, however, not the only time a Drew Carey doppelganger has appeared on “The Price is Right.” In an earlier episode, a contestant named Jim won his chance to be on stage, and he looked a lot like the host as well. What made his appearance even more impressive was the fact that he was dressed just like the host.

Carey revealed he had spoken to the contestant before he made his way to Contestant’s Row and that he looked like himself on a bender. “Everybody, get a shot of this,” the host added as they stood side-by-side on the stage. Jim had a chance to win a sofa, which he was not all that excited about, since he had eyes on a Ford truck, which was much more appealing.

Unfortunately, he was only able to win the sofa while fans had a field day in the comments section. Some even compared Jim to Chris Farley. One user wrote, “Am i the only one who thinks he looks more like chris farley?” Another user added, “He looks like Carey but he acts like Farley.”

The various games on ‘The Price Is Right’ are known to feature large gameboards with mechanical pieces. Sometimes, these pieces can be a bit fragile; recently, a contestant named Yanira broke a board of a popular game called “Switcheroo.” While the player made a mistake, host Drew Carey did not seem familiar enough with the mechanics either, as he worsened the situation in a panic.
Screenshot showing the host and the player trying to fix the situation (Image source: YouTube/The Price Is Right)Screenshot showing the host and the player trying to fix the situation (Image source: YouTube/The Price Is Right)
In the episode, Yanira, from Hawaii, won the “Contestant’s Row” to join Carey on the stage to play a classic game. The show’s announcer, George Gray, revealed that she would be playing Switcheroo for a brand new car and four small prizes. The game features a large board with the prices of the five prizes with the tens digit missing from each. The contestant is then given number blocks that carry the five unique digits that are missing. In the game, the player is given 30 seconds to fill in the missing places with the blocks.

Once the player is done or the time runs out, the host reveals the number of digits correctly placed by them. If the player gets all the digits right, they get an automatic win. In case they fail to get everything right, they get the option of quitting and taking whatever prizes have the correct prices or making a “Switcheroo” and trying to get all the prices right in another 30 seconds.
Screenshot showing the set up for the game (Image source: YouTube/The Price Is Right)Screenshot showing the set up for the game (Image source: YouTube/The Price Is Right)

After making the Switcheroo, the correct prices are revealed, and the contestant wins the prizes whose prices they guessed correctly. To win the car, the contestant has to get the price of it right. In Yanira’s game, she was shown a refillable and reusable fire extinguisher, a heavy-duty water-resistant lockbox, a dry-erase board easel and marker, and a three-tiered water fountain as the four smaller prizes along with a brand new Kia car.

As soon as the 30-second timer kicked off, Yanira was under considerable stress as she looked to the audience for help. Taking everyone’s suggestions, she put all of the numbers in on time, but she kept fiddling with the blocks.

Screenshot showing the player's reaction after breaking the holder (Image source: YouTube/The Price Is Right)Screenshot showing the player’s reaction after breaking the holder (Image source: YouTube/The Price Is Right)
When Carey asked her why she was so stressed, she tried to show him something on the board and broke the case for the number 7 block on the board. “I broke it!” she said. “No, you didn’t. Oh yeah, you did,” Carey said as he tried to fix the holder. However, the host ended up breaking the case further as the parts fell down to the floor. “You broke it more!” the contestant exclaimed.
Screenshots showing Carey breaking it further (Image source: YouTube/The Price Is Right)Screenshots showing Carey breaking it further (Image source: YouTube/The Price Is Right)
Carey laughed as the player picked up the pieces. He then simply set the block on top of another to partly fix it. “We’ll pretend that’s where it goes,” he said. He then revealed that Yanira had gotten only two numbers correct. The player took the chance to go again, and she rearranged the numbers in another 30 seconds.

Unfortunately she ended up messing up her game, as after the ‘switcheroo,’ she had none of the prices right. Thus, in the end, she ended up breaking the board and winning nothing from it.

GMA’s viewers threaten to BOYCOTT the show as the most famous anchors LEAVE ABC News morning TV show

[VERY SAD] GMA’s MOST FAMOUS ANCHORS leave the show.

GMA’s most famous anchors who’ve left the show: Amy Robach, T.J. Holmes — and one renowned late night host

The ABC News morning TV show is currently helmed by Robin Roberts, George Stephanopoulos, and Michael Strahan

Good Morning America has been on the air since November 1975, and in its nearly five-decade run has seen a host of leading journalists command the helm of the morning news show.

Currently, the main 7 AM-9 AM slot is heralded by longtime anchors Robin Roberts and George Stephanopoulos, plus NFL legend Michael Strahan, who joined in 2016.

However, over the years, several notable names have walked down ABC News studios’ hallowed halls, having led partnerships on the show that have spanned years.

Take a look below at some of the most prominent hosts in GMA who’ve left the show behind, for one reason or another, from recently reunited vets, to a late night host you might be familiar with…

Charlie Gibson, now 81, is a prominent name in the broadcast news industry, and spent a majority of his on-screen tenure with ABC News, joining in 1975 and staying till his retirement in 2009.

He joined as a field correspondent before being promoted to host of GMA, staying in that position from 1987-1998, and once again from 1999-2006 with Diane Sawyer. It was during his initial run, though, that the show became the most-watched morning show on American TV, yubi and he achieved that with…

Joan Lunden, now 73, began her career with ABC News in 1975 as well, being promoted to host of GMA in 1980, a position she maintained till 1997 during which she interviewed several Presidents, covered five Olympics, and two royal weddings.

Recently, Joan and Charlie reunited in surprising fashion — the pair made their theater in Falmouth, Massachusetts over the weekend to perform the play Love Letters for charity. Joan returned to TV in 2014 as a special correspondent for competitor NBC’s Today.

During his second stint as anchor, Charlie hosted alongside Diane Sawyer, now 78. After a few years working with the Nixon administration, Diane began her career with CBS News before moving to ABC in 1989.

One of the most high-profile women in broadcast journalism, Diane helped usher in a new age for GMA as a co-anchor from 1999-2009, also hosting World News Tonight, 20/20, and Primetime at different points of time. Since stepping away from World News Tonight in 2014, she has remained with the network, working on specials and conducting major interviews.

You might be surprised to learn that in the late ’90s, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert host, now 60, was once a correspondent for GMA. Well, technically speaking, at least.

While still developing his footing with comedy, and freelancing with the likes of Saturday Night Live, he filmed several humorous correspondent segments for GMA. However, only two of them were ever produced, and only one was aired. Stephen soon got his break, however, with The Daily Show and Strangers with Candy.

Amy Robach, now 51, made a name for herself as a top-notch journalist for nearly a decade with NBC News before joining ABC in 2012, serving as a fill-in host and contributor. In March 2020, she started co-hosting Pandemic: What You Need to Know, which eventually became GMA3: What You Need to Know.

In 2018, she also began co-hosting 20/20 with David Muir. However, in January 2023, she was officially let go from the network after over a decade of work when it was revealed that she had begun a relationship with one of her co-hosts

After their relationship came to light in December 2022, the couple were controversially terminated. In the time since, they’ve remained together and now host the podcast Amy & T.J. for the iHeart network.

GOOD Morning America 3’s production team has been fired- and the axed staffers blame ex-hosts Amy Robach and TJ Holmes for the layoffs.

Multiple sources exclusively told The U.S. Sun that the gutting of staff at ABC News Group and Disney Entertainment has become a “nightmare” for employees across the board, but GMA3 was hit the hardest.

“It is a complete s***show” at the network’s studios in New York City, one insider griped.

With production for the morning and afternoon versions of GMA being combined, the lower-rated GMA3 show staffers were the most heavily impacted and had the largest bloodletting.

Laid-off staff at the afternoon spinoff largely in part blamed their once well-loved former canoodling cohosts, whose off-the-charts on-air chemistry simply could not be, and was not, replaced by ABC execs.

“Staff blamed Amy and TJ for being selfish and ruining the show, essentially, when they were let go.

“They’ve never hired anyone with quite the same level of charisma that TJ and Amy had that had people tuning in to watch them together.”

According to the insider, “Amy and TJ got let go for being selfish two years ago, and now the rest of us are being fired in the fallout.

“They’ve ruined it for everyone else and now the whole staff is gone.”

GMA3 is currently hosted by Eva Pilgrim and DeMarco Morgan.

Additionally, Simone Swing, who is currently the senior executive producer at GMA, is now overseeing all GMA branded shows, including GMA3.

Despite the layoffs and the gripes about the show’s former co-hosts, an ABC press release from Tuesday touted GMA3’s ratings beating NBC News Daily.

Michael Strahan’s plans for future revealed after ‘quitting GMA’ following Fox NFL Sunday uncertainty
Meanwhile, it seems all areas of ABC have been impacted from programs in all time slots.

Perhaps the writing has been on the wall, as one insider explained the configuration of the offices has changed dramatically since the network moved into its new downtown digs, and not for the better.

“There are no longer assigned desks with personal photos of people’s families and other personal effects.

“Staff are now sharing desks and there are lockers where you can put your things and pick them up at the end of your shift.

“It’s a very different work landscape than they had in the old uptown ABC offices.”

As The U.S. Sun previously and extensively reported, Amy and TJ were ultimately fired from their cushy hosting jobs at ABC after news of their alleged extramarital affair made headlines in late 2022.

    AMY AND TJ’S ABC EXIT

The coupled-up cohosts were both legally married when their relationship came to light.

Since then, the couple launched their podcast, the Amy & TJ podcast, and subsequently another podcast called The Morning Run.

The pair have been vocal about their unceremonious exit at ABC, and have spoken out about how they viewed other fellow staffers’ less-than-pleasant exits.

EXITS AT ABC ARE ‘NOT PRETTY’

In a podcast epiode last year, the couple opened up about weatherman Rob Marciano’s exit from the network after a decade with ABC.

TJ said “We were with somebody just at a breakfast the other morning where somebody reminded us, ‘Hey, nobody leaves ABC News in a pretty fashion.’ That’s what they said.”

Amy then added: “Word for word. It’s a tough situation. Yes, we have walked down that road. It’s not an easy one.

“I think he might still be going through a divorce, so we know what it’s like to have your entire life upended, career and personal life.”

The pair expressed their sympathy to Rob, who they said they had known for a long time, with TJ calling him “one of the best” in his field.

“We hate to see somebody who’s been a friend and a colleague for a long time end up in this place, in this position, to be talked about the way he’s being talked about to some degree,” he added.

Meanwhile, Michael Strahan is facing rumors that he is leaving GMA after seven years.

NewsNation’s insider said: “He will be out by this summer — he’s had enough.”

But a source told The U.S. Sun “this isn’t true.”

Joy Behar Makes ‘The View’ Co-Hosts Emotional As She Reveals What She’ll Miss The Most When She Leaves

Joy Behar is the last OG co-host on The View, still standing since the daytime talk show premiered on ABC in 1997.

As the co-hosts discussed news that Jason Kelce was retiring from the NFL, Behar opened up about leaving the show at some point and what she would miss the most.

“He sounds more upset that he’s leaving his friends,” Behar pointed out after listening to Kelce’s retirement announcement. “When I leave this show, it will not be because I’m worried about my future. It’ll be because I will miss my friends. That’s basically it.”

The View co-hosts got emotional at Behar’s words, yubi, with Sunny Hostin extending her arm to give the comedian affection while Sara Haines got out of her seat to give her a big warm hug.

“I love when you say that,” Haines said with Alyssa Farah Griffin adding, “The good news is you can never leave us.”

Behar has been a co-host on The View since the very beginning and remained on the panel up until Season 16 in 2013. The show underwent a cast shakeup as producers tried to shift the show into a different direction. After a two-season absence, Behar would return for Season 19 in 2015 when the show returned to debating politics.

During his emotional speech about retiring from the NFL after 13 years, Kelce talked about the bonds he created with his Philadelphia Eagles teammates.

“I’d like to thank my teammates, my other brothers. Oh, how I’ve drawn my strengths from you all,” he said. “I was fortunate to play with great players, some of the best in this league has to offer. But it was really off the field, just sitting in the cafeteria with my teammates, breaking bread and talking about life, that were some of the most meaningful times I spent in my career. Fans have been left wondering why Joy Behar has been absent from The View for the past week, yubi, with some concerned she might be leaving the show.

Last Thursday, host Whoopi Goldberg, 69, addressed her absence, and told viewers: “Joy is not here. We wish her a happy opening night. It’s tonight.”

Whoopi was referring to Joy’s off-Broadway play, My First Ex-Husband, which premiered last week at New York’s Mac-Haydn Theater.

She wrote the production and also performs in it, alongside Tovah Feldshuh, Susie Essman, and Adrienne C. Moore.

Joy hasn’t been on The View since last Monday (February 3), with former co-host Star Jones filling in for her.

But now she has returned to her place on the panel, much to the delight of fans.

However, it’s now been revealed there is more to her absence than just her off-Broadway show.

Speaking about why she has been away from The View, Joy said: “I was sick!”

Although she didn’t disclose what illness she’d had, she hinted she had been unwell all week – and just as her off-Broadway show was kicking off.

Asked how Mr First Ex-Husband was going, she replied: “It’s going really well, people seem to like it!.

The View’s Whoopi Goldberg appears ‘tired’ and ‘uninterested’ during show taping as she faces retirement rumors
    “It’s been a fun ride.”

Joy then revealed she would be doing the play until February 23, before another actress takes over the role.

The popular host has been a staple of The View since she the show started in 1997.

The popular American talk show was created by broadcast journalist Barbara Walters.

It is currently in its 28th season, and after its recent boost in ratings, it was given an extra show each week.

Since last month The Weekend View now airs on ABC News Live, which is the streaming platform website.

The show is half an hour long and features the show’s Friday panel.

However, Whoopi wont be on the show because she doesn’t work on Fridays.

After several years off the air, Hollywood Squares is returning to television. CBS Mornings host Nate Burleson (a former NFL football star) will host the new version of the game show, and the celebrities will feature several familiar faces.

Drew Carey The Price Is Right YouTube

The original show was the home to some iconic comic actors. Originally airing on NBC, that original show ran from 1966 to 1980. It featured celebrities in the squares ranging from Rich Little and Roddy McDowall to Joan Rivers, Jonathan Winters, and Weird Al Yankovic. The iconic Betty White also appeared on the show.

While Drew Barrymore was originally rumored to be hosting the show, it is Burleson in that spot. Barrymore, though, is involved. She has a spot in the center square on the board and will be one of the celebrities giving true or false responses to the players.

The teaser for Hollywood Squares also shows another Drew, Drew Carey from The Price is Right. Triumph the Insult Comic Dog trolled Barrymore in the teaser, and Drew Carey was also the brunt of a joke later.

Who Are The Other Celebs On Hollywood Squares?

On top of Drew Barrymore and Drew Carey, there are plenty of recognizable faces on the new Hollywood Squares. The teasers have started to drop, and plenty of names are joining the new rebooted game show.

    The celebrities involved include:

Tyra Banks (America’s Next Top Model)
    Yvette Nicole Brown (Community)
    Whitney Cummings (Whitney)
    Julie Bowen (Modern Family)
    Jay Leno (The Tonight Show)
    Justin Long (Goosebumps)
Akbar Gbajabiamila (American Ninja Warrior, The Talk)
    Tiffany Haddish (The Afterparty)
    Gabriel Iglesias (The Santa Clauses)
    Jo Koy (ahem)
Kevin Nealon (Man With a Plan)
    RuPaul (LINGO)
    Andrew Rannells (Girls)
Kristen Schaal (The Last Man on Earth)
    Sheryl Underwood (The Talk)
    Oliver Hudson (Rules of Engagement)
    Pete Holmes (Crashing)
    Jimmy O. Yang (Interior Chinatown)
    Triumph the Insult Comic Dog.

There will also be other celebrity guests announced at a later date. Since there are nine squares, the celebs mentioned above will rotate. It is assumed Drew Barrymore will be a regular, though, as the Center Square.

Emotions were running high on Monday’s (March 31) episode of The Voice as Kelsea Ballerini was brought to tears when one of her team member’s performances reminded her of her sick dog.

The country singer first shed tears during rehearsals as she listened to Angie Rey perform Cody Johnson’s “Dirty Cheap.” The song, which is about a farmer not wanting to sell his land, features the lyric, “And over there, under that wide oak tree / Beneath the cross is where my best buddy’s buried…Keep your money ’cause a man can’t leave his dog.”

This is the line that appeared to set Ballerini off, and Rey stopped singing. “I can’t do it with you crying,” Rey said as she also fought back tears.

Ballerini admitted, “I got emotional because my dog is super sick. But that is the thing about country music, yubi, is that it does talk about real life and the things that are hard to talk about.”

The “Cowboys Cry Too” singer was moved to tears again when Rey took the stage for the actual performance. “You were just so lovely,” Ballerini told Rey. “And I really appreciated you kind of reigning back a little bit and showing more of that storytelling side of your voice, ’cause that’s a big part of singing country music. I just think you’re amazing.”

Back in August 2024, Ballerini revealed on Instagram that her beloved dog Dibs had been diagnosed with “inoperable cancer in his heart.” She added, “He’s not in pain, and luckily it hasn’t spread further. we’re going to start him on the ‘big’ meds to try to make sure he can have as many comfortable and happy days (weeks, months) left as possible.”

She shared another update in November 2024, with Dibs appearing in the backyard in a TikTok video. Ballerini said he was feeling “pretty well” that day and thanked her fans for their thoughts and prayers.

As for Rey, despite the high praise, Ballerini ultimately chose 19-year-old Iris Herrera as the winner of the Knockouts. Ballerini admitted it was a tough decision, but she felt Herrera’s showmanship and emotion gave her the edge.

The journey isn’t over for Rey, though, as fellow coach Michael Bublé swooped in with his Steal, adding Rey to his team. Ballerini was ecstatic to see Rey remain in the competition, saying, “I never loved Michael Bublé more than him stealing Angie.”

The new Reba McEntire sitcom has gotten a full-season order. The well-rounded performer began her career as a country music artist in the mid-1970s, earning 25 No. 1 singles over the course of her career, including “Can’t Even Get the Blues,” “How Blue,” “Little Rock,” and “The Last One to Know.” In addition to her music career, which led her to become a host on The Voice, she has also had a robust career as an actress in projects including TremorsBarb and Star Go to Vista Del Mar, yubi, and her long-running sitcom Reba.

In the classic sitcom, McEntire played a single mother whose life was in disarray after her husband had a child with his mistress and her pregnant teen daughter got married. It ran for six seasons, with the first five airing on The WB and the final season airing on the newly rebranded The CW. The Reba cast also included Christopher Rich, Joanna García, Steve Howey, Scarlett Pomers, Mitch Holleman, and Melissa Peterman.

More Happy’s Place Episodes Are Coming

The New Reba McEntire Show Airs On NBC

Happy’s Place season 1 has earned more episodes. The new NBC sitcom stars Reba McEntire as Bobbie, who is bequeathed half of a bar in her father’s will and decides to run it with her much younger half-sister Isabella (Belissa Escobedo), who inherited the other half. The ensemble cast of the show also includes Melissa Peterman, Rex Linn, Pablo Castelblanco, and Tokala Black Elk. Happy’s Place reviews have earned the show a solidly Fresh 70% Rotten Tomatoes score at the time of writing.

Happy’s Place was created by Julie and Kevin Abbott, the latter of whom has been an executive producer or producer on sitcoms including RoseanneThe Golden GirlsTwo Guys, a Girl and a Pizza PlaceCristela, and Last Man Standing.

Per DeadlineHappy’s Place has been given a full-season order by NBC. The full-season order will increase its run by five episodes, bringing the season 1 to a full 18 episodes. This announcement was made the day before episode 6, “Happy’s House,” is set to air, meaning that it was not even halfway through its original 13-episode order at the time the decision was made, likely owing to the show’s ratings success and the fact that it earned the best-ever comedy series debut on NBCUniversal’s streaming service Peacock.

    The Show’s Future Looks Bright

A full-season order in season 1 is not necessarily an indication that a show will continue for another season or not. For instance, the long-running U.S. sitcom The Office only ran for six episodes in its first season. However, Happy’s Place season 2 could very well be renewed sooner rather than later given this early sign of success, especially if the new Reba McEntire show can keep up its current ratings through the end of its now 18-episode run.
