Here’s Some GOOD News and BAD News for Happy’s Place. Here’s All You Need To Knows

Happy’s Place is now on a break for the rest of 2024 (but there is some good news)

It’s that time of year where a lot of shows go on their winter breaks. Happy’s Place has now aired its last episode of 2024, but there is some good news.

That’s right; there are no more new episodes of Happy’s Place in 2024. In a little bit of good news, there is a rerun on Friday, Dec. 20. This certainly suggests that NBC is happy with the series and wants to keep people tuning in. The episode will follow the airing of Shrek the Halls on the network.

What about the return date, though? We have some great news about that.

Why is Happy’s Place now on a break?

If NBC is happy enough with the show to put on reruns, why is the show taking a break? Well, yubi, this is just the time of year. All broadcast networks put a hold on new episodes of their shows this time of year, as the linear ratings take a dip. There’s no point risking the future of a show when a break is possible.

This also allows for scheduling. Even with the extra episodes that Happy’s Place has landed, there are still more weeks than episodes available for the standard September to May schedule. So, breaks are needed, and a longer one at Christmas and New Year helps with that.

When will Happy’s Place return with new episodes?

Those who love Reba McIntyre’s new series won’t need to wait too long for it to return. It’s actually the first series to make a comeback in 2025. Happy’s Place will return on Friday, Jan. 3 at 8/7c on NBC. It will be followed by new episodes of Lopez vs. Lopez and Dateline, bringing back a normal Friday night for us.

This is a shorter break than most other shows on NBC and most other networks. It’s only three weeks, so we really can’t complain!

Will Happy’s Place be renewed for season 2?

Of course, as we get to this time of the year, we look at the chances of our favorite shows being canceled or renewed. NBC doesn’t tend to make big decisions this early, unless a show has taken off more wildly than expected. So, it’s not surprising that we haven’t heard about a renewal just yet.

I do expect to see Happy’s Place renewed for season 2. According to TV Series Finale, the comedy is the third-most popular out of the genre on the network, just behind fellow freshman St. Denis Medical and Happy’s Place. It sits in eighth out of all the scripted shows. Both of those figures are in terms of the demo, which is the number most broadcast networks follow.

Being so high up considering it airs on a Friday is an excellent feat. NBC is sure to want it to stick around!

Happy’s Place returns on Friday, Jan. 3 at 8/7c on NBC. Catch up on the series on Peacock.

Is there a world where Reba McEntire and JoAnna Garcia Swisher reunite?

preview for Reba on The Dream Role She Didn't Land

With Happy’s Place coming back for season 2, fans are clearly enjoying Reba McEntire getting back to her TV sitcom roots. But what does this mean for future episodes … including any special guest stars?

The hit NBC series famously stars the country superstar and her former Reba co-star Melissa Peterman as part of an ensemble cast running a bar in Knoxville, Tennessee. Given how Reba and Melissa’s past TV connection (Reba played Reba Hart while Melissa portrayed Barbra Jean Hart) sparked a massive outpouring of joy from viewers, it was only fitting to try and bring back other Reba cast members as guest stars.

With Steve Howey (who played Van Montgomery) and Christopher Rich (who portrayed Brock Hart) already making appearances in season 1, yubi, are there any other actors potentially in the works to be on Happy’s Place as well? According to series showrunner Kevin Abbott, he’s already trying to work out a way to have another special person come on the show at some point.

“We definitely want to bring Joanna [Garcia Swisher] in,” he told TV Insider on March 22. “We’ve been talking to her. It’s a matter of timing for her.”

Now, fans remember JoAnna for portraying Reba’s daughter Cheyenne Montgomery on Reba for six seasons. She also has been busy starring on the Netflix hit drama Sweet Magnolias, which is currently in limbo about a season 5 renewal. Even though JoAnna’s schedule may not exactly work out, it doesn’t mean she wouldn’t be down to try something out on the show.

As she explained to Good Housekeeping back in June 2023, JoAnna would be thrilled to find a way to reunite with her former Reba co-stars on screen in some capacity.

“We’re all still very, very close,” JoAnna said at the time. “We’re a big family. We always have been and we always will. I would love to do anything with them. If the opportunity presented itself, we would be all in with two feet.”

Well, we’re crossing our fingers and hoping something could come from all of this!

In an interview with People, Nancy admitted that the Shifting Gears set felt like a family reunion, thanks to several of her former colleagues working behind the scenes. As for reuniting with her longtime costar, yubi, she says she helps Tim stay focused. She explained, “I guess the most challenging thing is just… is kind of keeping him in his lane. It’s sort of keeping him focused on the work at hand, which is also part of his genius [and] also his improvisational ability.”

Nancy shared a clip from the new series on Instagram and wrote, “Hiya all @lastmanstanding fans! Am turning up on @shifting_gearsabc tomorrow night in a mysterious way. IYKYK – Weds 2/12 8:00pm @abc”

Tim Allen‘s sitcom wife Nancy Travis made an appearance on his ABC series Shifting Gears — but what about his Last Man Standing daughters?

“Oh, of course. I have no doubt [about that]. Tim is nothing if not loyal. So it was great to walk on that set and see most of the crew was from Last Man Standing,” Travis, 63, exclusively told Us Weekly about her reunion with Allen. “The director John Pasquin did so many episodes of Last Man Standing and is a personal friend. It was just so great to feel this sense of reunion.”

Travis didn’t rule out more Last Man Standing cameos on Shifting Gears, yubi, adding, “I wouldn’t be surprised if everybody from Last Man Standing shows up on Shifting Gears in one way or another. If Tim has his way, he’ll make sure that everybody from [costar Kat Dennings‘] 2 Broke Girls comes on too.”

Before playing Matt on Last Man Standing, Allen, 71, was known for playing Tim “The Toolman” Taylor on the ABC sitcom Home Improvement, which ran from 1991 to 1999. He moved on to Last Man Standing, where he played Mike for nine seasons on ABC. Last Man Standing paved the way for Allen to reunite with his Home Improvement costars Patricia Richardson and Jonathan Taylor Thomas, who played his onscreen wife and son, respectively.

In addition to Thomas, Taran Noah Smith and Zachery Ty Bryan brought the rest of Allen’s onscreen sons to life. Allen spoke to Us about getting to spend time with Thomas when he visited the set of Shifting Gears.

“Everything is a possibility,” he shared last month. “He just came back [to the last episode we filmed]. He showed up on the set. He’s literally my kid. I raised that kid for eight years on Home Improvement. All of these are my kids and I’m kind of sick about this.”

Last Man Standing was more unique because of the show’s multiple recasting. Alexandra Krosney and Amanda Fuller played the role of the oldest Baxter sister, Kristin, while Molly Ephraim and Molly McCook were both middle child Mandy. Kaitlyn Dever was the only actress who portrayed Eve while Evan and Luke KruntchevFlynn Morrison and Jet Jurgensmeyer all played Kristin’s son Boyd. (Kristin’s husband, Ryan, was also recast after Nick Jonas‘ one-episode stint turned into a multi-season arc with Jordan Masterson at the helm.)

Travis is the first of Allen’s Last Man Standing costars to join him on Shifting Gears.

Most Memorable TV Siblings Through the Years: From 'Wednesday' to 'Stranger Things'

“You wonder how Nancy Travis is going to come back into this Shifting Gears world and I think it’s a unique and clever way that they’ve engineered this,” she noted to Us. “I will say — even on Last Man Standing — it’s almost like a trademark of Tim’s shows where there are winks. Because the people that have followed his career from Home Improvement, his stand-up comedy, Last Man Standing and now Shifting Gears, they know the details of these stories and these characters so deeply.”

Travis continued: “They’re looking for a little inside joke or nod. There were many of them on Last Man Standing so I knew there would be something. I just didn’t know where it would come or how it would come. Viewers will be looking for it too so it is a nice little bow they put on our scenes together.”

While Travis enjoyed sharing the screen with Allen again, she doesn’t see herself reprising her role as his wife.

Home Improvement Cast Where Are They Now

“It was really fun to be able to just come in and have a whole wealth of knowledge and rapport working with Tim. In terms of comedic rhythm, knowing how to set up a joke and how to tell a story together, it was great to be able to take that and apply it to Charlotte,” she said. “I do enjoy working with him but I think that it’s fun to explore new and different relationships between characters. It is very meta — maybe too meta.”

Travis was thrilled with how Shifting Gears was able to incorporate her on the show.

“I really like what they created, which is a soulmate friend,” she added. “Maybe it’s like the ghost of his ex-wife — Vanessa — who comes in the spirit of somebody else. But I like the nuances of what they created with this different relationship.”

Shifting Gears airs on ABC Wednesdays at 8 p.m. ET before streaming the next day on Hulu.

Harvey walks away from ‘Family Feud’ contestant as soon as he heard his wild answer

“Family Feud” contestants are known to come up with the weirdest-sounding answers simply to be in sync with the survey picks that are on the board. all kinds of answers. Despite being a seasoned host, Steve Harvey seems out of touch with popular opinions when answers too bizarre for him turn up on the board. During one such episode, the host’s reaction to an answer suggested that he could not believe that the contestant said something like that. He was almost certain that the answer wasn’t going to be on the board.

It started when Harvey asked the survey question, “Name a game show that you watch at home and think, ‘I could win big on that show.’” A woman named Christine was the first to press the buzzer, and she said, “Family Feud.” That was the number two answer on the board. The host seemed surprised that it wasn’t number one.

Her opponent, a woman named Rana, said, “Wheel of Fortune.” Harvey wasn’t happy with the answer and said, “It better not be right.” Unfortunately for him, it was the number one answer on the board, and the family decided to play. Next up was a man named Omar, and he said, “I’m gonna say The Price is Right,” and that answer was on the board.

The next answer came from a contestant named Leena, who didn’t have a lot of faith in her abilities. “Well, I guarantee you I couldn’t win it, but Jeopardy!” she said, before adding, “I couldn’t do it. I would lose immediately.” Thankfully, she did not lose on “Family Feud,” as it was one of the answers on the board. Then a player named Aladdin said, “Deal or No Deal,” which was not on the board.
Screenshot showing the contestant Leena on Screenshot showing the contestant Leena on “Family Feud” (Image source: YouTube | Family Feud)
A woman named Medina was next, and she said, “Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader?” Harvey gave her a judgmental look upon hearing this answer, and he was right to do so since the answer was not on the board either. The family now had two strikes, and the turn went back to Rana, who said, “Who wants to be a Millionaire?” which was on the board.
Screenshot showing the contestants and Steve Harvey on Screenshot showing the contestants and Steve Harvey on “Family Feud” (Image source: YouTube | Family Feud)
Omar’s turn came one more time, and he said, “Are You Awake? It’s new. It’s on Netflix.” Harvey simply walked away from the table after hearing this since it wasn’t a well-known game show. The host was right to walk to the other table since it was an incorrect answer, which meant that the other family could now steal the win.

The onus, on this occasion, fell on a woman named Maria who said, “We’re gonna say Password, Steve.” This answer was also incorrect, and they failed the chance to win the game. There were only two answers that weren’t revealed on the board, which were “Name That Tune” and “Let’s Make A Deal.”

OMG! A Truck Crashes into The Price Is Right Showcase Set!

Woman crashed a truck into ‘Price is Right’ set during Bob Barker era in one of the wildest TV moments

Some of the older fans of “The Price is Right” believe the Bob Barker era was more civil than the Drew Carey era. But while there have been several eccentric contestants during Carey’s time, none of them ever rammed a truck into a wall since he has been hosting the show. It did happen in one of the earlier editions of the popular game show and left a lot of fans in the studio stunned.

It happened during the Showcase round when two contestants, Mercilla and Cinthia, were competing against each other. They were both competing to win separate prizes but only one could win. For Mercilla, the prize was several dining room items like a table with multiple chairs, a glass cabinet, cups, plates, spoons, knives and forks, a piano, and 35 square yards of carpeting. The contestant guessed that all of this could be worth $5800.

Screenshot showing the dining room prize on Screenshot showing the dining room prize on “The Price is Right” (Image credit: YouTube | The Price is Right: The Barker Era)
Then it was Cinthia’s turn and to present her award, the showrunners decided to create a theatre-style sketch on the set. The sketch showed a woman trying to get her husband away from the television so that he would spend time with her. However, he just wasn’t ready to move, and the woman got so frustrated that she drove an entire truck onto the set, breaking a wall in the process. That truck, a Toyota, was the prize that she would play for.

Cinthia guessed the price of the truck to be $15,000. While the audience in the studio believed that she had guessed a little too high, it turned out that she was off by only $747. Her family joined her on stage and celebrated her win as the ending credits rolled at the end of one of the most memorable segments in the show’s history.

While this was a wild moment, driving the truck through the wall and onto the set was all a planned exercise. But on another episode of the show, one of the models accidentally drove a car right through a wall. The model in question was the legendary Rachel Reynolds and the expression on her face after she brought the car to a halt was absolutely priceless.

It was all part of the presentation as Reynolds drove the car onto the stage for a contestant named Cameron who was playing to win it. Waving to the crowd while driving, the veteran model failed to step on the brakes in time and slammed through the wall. Host Drew Carey had a bemused look on his face at first but he went over to the driver’s side and made sure his co-worker was alright.

“Cameron, we’ll get you a brand-new car I swear when you win this one. This is going to be a damaged, used car. We’ll get you a brand-new car,” the host assured the contestant. Thankfully, Reynolds was fine and there was little to no damage to the car.

Drew Carey has been the host of “The Price is Right” for over a decade now, and he knows his way around the stage very well. Apart from hosting, he also has the job of making sure nothing goes wrong if it’s in his control. In a recent episode of the show, the host narrowly prevented a huge mess that could have happened on set, as per a Monsters & Critics report. He had to keep his eyes open and be sharp, yubi, and that is exactly what he did.

The contestant at the time was a woman named Heidi, and she was playing the “Pass the Buck” game for a chance to win a car. The rules of the game are simple. Six number cards are shown, and behind one of them is the car. In the other five, there is a $5,000 card, a $3,000 card, a $1,000 card, and two “Lose Everything” cards. Contestants have to avoid the latter.

Contestants are given one free pick and are then shown the prices of two items. They have to guess the price of which item is a dollar less.

If they get it right, they win one more pick. This happens twice, so a contestant can get a maximum of three picks. The first two items shown to Heidi were a box of cereal bars and a tube of hair-sculpting gel. The contestant picked the cereal bars, and that was the right answer.

As Carey spun the table to show the next two items, one of them almost fell off the table. The host did well to catch it just in time, as it was a bottle of fish sauce. Had that fallen and shattered into a million pieces, the entire set would have stunk of fish. Nobody wants that. “I almost sent that flying off,” the host said. The other item was a bag of Spanish rice. The contestant guessed the fish sauce, which was once again correct.
Screenshot showing Drew Carey holding the bottle of fish sauce. (Image credit: YouTube | The Price is Right)Screenshot showing Drew Carey holding the bottle of fish sauce. (Image credit: YouTube | The Price is Right)
Heidi now had three chances to win the car. “Pick a number, Heidi. You have three picks altogether,” the host said. “I will take it off for you.” The contestant looked to the audience for help before coming to the board. “Number 2, please,” she said as she waited impatiently.

The host took off the number from the board, and it was revealed to be the car. She did not even need all of her picks to win what she desired.

Congratulations, Heidi,” the host said as the contestant ran to the car and celebrated with the model. Fans loved the moment and made their thoughts clear in the comments section of the clip on YouTube. “I was glad she won. She won the showcase too. Congratulations Heidi!” one user commented. “Terrific win, and Heidi ended up having a great day today,” another user quipped. “Great job here on Pass the Buck! Earned both extra picks, but picked the car right away! I’m surprised we didn’t hear Drew ask her if she wanted to use the extra picks to win extra cash,” wrote a third fan.

The show was scheduled to air in October of this year, but due to delays, it’s been pushed back some months to commence in 2025.
