‘Wheel of Fortune’ contestant incorrectly guessed Disney puzzle

Nikol, a recent contestant on “Wheel of Fortune,” made such an “embarrassing” mistake on the game show that she surprised herself.

On Tuesday night’s episode, Nikol was competing in the Song Lyrics category and the phrase was 12 words. She and her fellow contestants had gotten the puzzle nearly solved, with only one letter missing.

“See the line where the s-y meets the sea, it calls me” were the lyrics that Nikol was working with.

“Wheel of Fortune” host Ryan Seacrest reminded Nikol that the phrase did not contain any more vowels.

She quickly filled in the missing letter with an “O,” creating the word, “Soy.”

“No, that’s not it,” Seacrest said, while someone in the audience could be heard exclaiming “Oh!”

Nikol immediately gasped and brought her hands to her head. “Oh my God!” she blurted out.

The correct lyrics of the song “How Far I’ll Go” from the movie “Moana” are, “See the line where the sky meets the sea, it calls me.”

A clip of Nikol’s moment was shared on the official “Wheel of Fortune” Instagram page. Fans quickly weighed in on Nikol’s “embarrassing” slip-up.

“How embarrassing!” one user commented. “That one hurt,” another added.

“How she get on that show!!??” one person asked.

“Omgeeee!!!! Painful to watch!!!!!” another comment read.

“I thought this was an SNL skit until I saw Ryan,” another added.

Fans also came to Nikol’s defense and admitted they would be nervous, too.

“She was adorable, but I think nerves got to her for this puzzle,” one user wrote.

Another added, “Well it was cute. I’d probably forget my own name on WOF.”

Seacrest has been hosting “Wheel of Fortune” since Pat Sajak’s retirement in 2024. Vanna White has served as a co-host since 1982. Her contract has been extended through the 2025-26 season.

LOS ANGELES — It’s time for one “final spin!”

“Celebrity Wheel of Fortune” returns for Pat Sajak’s “final spin” as host April 30 on ABC.

Accompanied by Vanna White, the duo will welcome an all-star lineup to compete for a chance to win $1 million for the charity of their choice.

Guests this season include Cameron Brink, Josh Gad, Tiffany Haddish, Regina Hall, Rachael Harris, Ellie Kemper, Justin Long, Joe Manganiello, Katharine McPhee, Oscar Nuñez, Randall Park, Andrew Rannells, Sam Richardson, Matt Walsh and Rainn Wilson.

The show will be followed by the 2025 return of “Jeopardy! Masters,” hosted by Ken Jennings, featuring an expanded lineup of the top-ranked current “Jeopardy!” contestants.

“Contestants will include reigning champion Victoria Groce, returning finalist Yogesh Raut, 2025 Jeopardy! Tournament of Champions winner Neilesh Vinjamuri, TOC finalists Adriana Harmeyer and Isaac Hirsch, 2025 Jeopardy! Invitational Tournament champion Matt Amodio, and JIT finalists Roger Craig and Juveria Zaheer. Additionally, this tournament marks the return of Brad Rutter, one of the biggest winners in ‘Jeopardy!’ history, who will step back onto the Alex Trebek Stage for the first time since 2020’s ‘Jeopardy!: The Greatest of All Time’ event.”

The contestants will each compete in two action-packed games per hour-long episode for the $500,000 grand prize.

“Celebrity Wheel of Fortune” premieres Wednesday, April 30 at 8/7c on ABC, followed by “Jeopardy! Masters” at 9/8c. They stream the next day on Hulu.

The competition has gone up another level on Season 27 of The Voice as the third and final week of Battle Rounds took place on Monday (March 24), with the coaches deciding their teams for the upcoming Knockouts.

Kelsea Ballerini, Michael Bublé, John Legend, and Adam Levine were back in the famous red chairs to watch the remaining members of their teams fight it out in several head-to-head performances. But only 11 made it through to the next round.

The night began with Team Kelsea’s Iris Herrera and Simone Marijic facing off in a tense showdown as they sang “Ceilings” by Lizzy McAlpine. Ballerini ultimately picked Herrera as the winner, yubi noting, “She really knows her voice, and she knows how to use it to show how unique she is.”

However, the journey isn’t over for Marijic, as Bublé used his Steal in a surprise move to bring the talented singer over to his team.

Next up was Team Bublé’s Dimitrius Graham and Divighn, who fought it out in a performance of “Leave the Door Open” by Anderson.Paak and Bruno Mars. Both performers received praise, but in the end, Bublé picked Divighn as the victor, saying, “I love how solid, how slick and smooth he is.”

Then came Team Adam’s Trevon Dawson and Tyler Kae, who faced off in a performance of “I’m With You” by Avril Lavigne. It was another tense showdown, but Levine chose Dawson as the winner, explaining, “Trevon is my lone country singer, which is great.”

Team Legend was up next, with Jay Ammo taking on Renzo in a performance of “Is This Love” by Bob Marley & the Wailers. Legend showed his respect for both singers but ultimately selected Renzo to move on, saying, “He keeps showing us why he deserves to be here and why everyone thinks he’s going to go really far on the show.”

The next showdown saw Team Bublé’s Adam David facing off against Ricardo Moreno in a performance of their coach’s own song, “Home.” Bublé decided on David as the winner, noting, “I love the character of Adam’s voice. Adam has a kind of cool bluesy, soulful jazz voice that I dig.”

Finally, Team Adam’s Conor James went up against Tinika Wyatt in a performance of “How Deep Is Your Love” by Bee Gees. It was the hardest decision of the night for Levine, but he ultimately picked James as the victor, explaining, “Conor has a unicorn quality to him. He can sing anything and make it feel like it means something.”

However, Ballerini swooped in with her Steal, meaning Wyatt would remain in the competition. “Tinika adds a level of soul to Team Kelsea that I’m very excited about,” the country star added.

There was also a montage of abbreviated Battles, which saw Jacquelyn George defeat Jordan Allen to remain on Team Legend, Dan Kieran beat Jessica Manalo to stay with Team Keslea, and Page Mackenzie win out over Robert Hunter to also stick with Team Kelsea.

That means the singers facing heartbreak and going home after the third round of Battles were Dimitrius Graham, Jay Ammo, Jessica Manalo, Jordan Allen, Ricardo Moreno, Robert Hunter, and Tyler Kae.

Those advancing are Adam David, Conor James, Dan Kiernan, Divighn, Iris Herrera, Jacquelyn George, Page Mackenzie, Simone Marijic, Renzo, Tinika Wyatt, and Trevon Dawson.

Wheel of Fortune fans are still getting used to the show’s new host Ryan Seacrest, who took over from Pat Sajak this year – and it seems many are not impressed.

The popular game show Wheel of Fortune has been a staple for many years.

But when Pat Sajak, the long-time host of the hit ABC game show, yubi stepped down in June this year, many fans had to adjust to his replacement, Ryan Seacrest, who took over the role in September 2024.

Despite Seacrest’s attempts to bring his own style to the hosting job, some viewers are finding it hard to accept him as the new face of the show following Pat’s 41-year tenure.

Numerous fans have criticized the former Live! morning show host for not living up to Pat’s legacy.

Another user on the social media site commented: “@WheelofFortune I watched Wheel of Fortune today for the first time since they changed host it is just not the same I’m so sorry but where’s the enthusiasm Ryan You had it on every other show you hosted it just weird.”

Meanwhile, a third person noted: “Ryan Seacrest sounds like a robot. Loosen up man. #WheelOfFortune.”

One viewer tweeted, “Watching Wheel of Fortune with 12 in the room. She looks up at the TV and exclaims, ‘Who’s THAT GUY!??’ Had to explain that Pat Sajak retired and @RyanSeacrest took over. Let’s just say, 12 is not a fan. #WheelOfFortune.”

This isn’t the first time Ryan has faced criticism from Wheel of Fortune fans.

His game show debut sparked a lot of discussion, too, as viewers decided how they felt about him, and a slip of the tongue from a contestant that was overlooked seemingly made matters worse.

Fans took to social media to discuss the mistake, especially since mispronunciations had cost other contestants the game in the past.

One fan expressed their shock: “Omg guy pronounced the word wrong on Wheel of Fortune and they let it slide. First time,” as another fan asked: “Someone please correct me if I’m wrong but I’m pretty sure I heard ‘vine-ripening tomatoes’ instead of ‘vine-ripened tomatoes’ during the first Wheel of Fortune episode of the season.”

As Ryan Seacrest’s first season of Wheel of Fortune is underway, fans are slamming the new host as they notice his ‘awkward’ on-stage habits.

Hit gameshow Wheel of Fortune fans are calling out Ryan Seacrest as they pick apart his ‘on-screen’ habits and compare him to former host Pat Sajak.

Seacrest took over the huge roll after Sajak announced his retirement last year, leaving a 40-year legacy behind him.

The Reddit posts had fans in a frenzy as they agreed with the disppointed fan.

“Is it just me or does Ryan laugh and chuckle too much? Feels slapstick when not awkward,” another fan noted.

A third wrote: “Can’t do it. Unless Seacrest turns the volume down, I’m exhausted and need a drink to watch. Is this the producers new ‘spin?’”

“I think Ryan is still just in that “prove yourself” part of the job like we all get with any new job. It takes a while before you can let your guard down, relax, be yourself,” another wrote in defense of Seacrest.

A fourth wrote: “The contestants are so wild and crazy now! Annoying,” as they claimed the audience was the issue.

“According to my mother every time somebody lost the 100,000$ it looks like he’s laughing at them. Like he’s so happy to point out that they didn’t win all that money,” a final fan theorized.

The insiders told The U.S. Sun that the last-minute schedule change was an “ABC network decision and Sony TV.” Both Sajak and producers will have to sit tight until football season ends. They didn’t intend this to “look like a long goodbye.”

The American Idol host took over Sajak after Season 42. He’s been fitting into his new role well. Despite retiring, Sajak hosted Celebrity Wheel of Fortune for the fifth season. The scheduling conflict could affect Seacrest’s new role as well.

“You have to feel for Ryan Seacrest because he’s willing to work in Pat’s shadow for longer than he expected he would have to when he signed up to take over ‘Wheel,’” the source told the publication.

Seacrest signed a two-year deal with Sony. If he chooses to host longer, he will become the new face of the WoF primetime specials and celebrity editions. Ratings for the original game show skyrocketed since Seacrest joined the show.

After the shocking final answer was revealed, one stunned fan took to X, formerly Twitter, sharing his surprised reaction to the suggestive clue.
