Jeopardy!’ Fans & Contestants React After Jaw-Dropping Game Is Dubbed ‘Greatest Ever’

Jeopardy! had fans and former contestants losing their minds on Tuesday night (January 21) after the second Champions Wildcard semi-finals ended in one of the boldest wagers in the game show’s history.

Tuesday’s game saw a three-way showdown between Will Yancey, a lecturer of history from Banquete, Texas, Jay Fisher, a government relations manager from Lisle, Illinois, and Evan Dorey, a data analytics director from Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

The match-up started off pretty evenly matched between Yancey and Dorey, with the latter taking a slight lead with $7,800 by the end of the first round, while the former followed closely behind with $5,200. Fisher trailed in a deficit, with minus $400.

Things heated up massively in the Double Jeopardy round as Yancey and Dorey went back and forth. Firstly, Yancey took control of “The Bible” category, nailing each clue and finding a Daily Double, wagering big and doubling his score to take the lead.

Not to be outdone, Dorey fired back by running the “‘B’ On The Sea” category, where he landed on a Daily Double of his own and wagered his entire pot. This put him back into the lead heading into Final Jeopardy with a huge $32,400. Meanwhile, Yancey had $26,000, giving him a chance to win if Dorey flopped on the final clue.

Fisher ended up getting out of the red and went into Final Jeopardy with $2,800.

Host Ken Jennings then revealed the final category as “Mythology” and read the final clue: “Some myths say the treasure of the Nibelung was hidden under a promontory called this, on the Rhine near St. Goarshausen.”

Yancey was the only one who gave the correct answer (“What is Lorelei?”), but it was his wager that had viewers reeling. Adopting a “go big or go home” attitude, Yancey bet his entire $26,000, giving him a final score of a whopping $52,000. He secured his spot in the Champions Wildcards final, where he’ll face off against Drew Goins and a third player yet to be determined.

Fans and former contestants took to social media to react to the jaw-dropping game, with some calling it the greatest episode ever.

Fellow Champions Wildcard contestant Joey DeSena shared his thoughts on the Jeopardy! Reddit forum, writing, “This. Game. Literally one of the best games of Jeopardy I’ve ever seen in my life, and it was a privilege to watch from the audience. Will Weiss and I were sitting together and losing our minds at the high level of play involved here. Hearty congrats to Evan, Jay, and Will – great guys, all. Enjoy!”

Former player Alison Betts agreed, stating, “I love love love when I watch a game of Jeopardy and I’m so in it I forget I’ve ever played it and I revert to just totally being a fan. All three players were just 🔥.”

One fan added, “This was an insane game. I can only imagine how fantastic the CWC finals are gonna be especially with those DD wagers.”

“Holy s*** what an insane game. Congrats to Will. Hoping tomorrow’s game is just as good, and based on who’s in it I’m confident it will be,” said another.

“Wow, What a game! Gutsy move by both betting it all in Double Jeopardy!” another added.

“Look, I’m just a fan who has watched a lot of jeopardy over the years. I’m going to take the any time test at some point but that’s beside the point,” one fan wrote. “That was one of if not the most fun game I have seen in a long time.”

“Wow. Best game of the season? I can’t think of a better one off the top of my head,” said another.

“That was one of the best episodes ever. So enjoyable to watch!” added one commenter.

Another added, “When I think of the phrase “Peak Jeopardy!”, today’s game is definitely gonna come to mind now.”

Ryan Seacrest shows his WEAKNESSES after he makes a BIG MISTAKE on the latest episode of ‘Wheel Of Fortune’

‘Wheel Of Fortune’ Ryan Seacrest Loses Patience With Player

    Wheel Of Fortune: Ryan Seacrest

Ryan Seacrest has both fans and detractors since taking over the hosting duties on Wheel of Fortune. The detractors had another time this week with him, as he seemed to lose his patience with two players on the show. Ryan has been accused of showing little empathy with players. Did that happen this time?

Here is what happened with Ryan on the show this week when he got a little snappy with the players.

Ryan Seacrest Frustrated On Wheel Of Fortune

This week on Wheel of Fortune, there was a special episode called Girlfriend Getaways, and it meant that two female friends got to work together on the show to solve puzzles. However, one set of women had Ryan frustrated enough to get a little snippy with them.

Kelli Mullen and Emma Paulson met in the sixth grade and had been best friends for 23 years. The two women from Minnesota were the big winners on the Girlfriend Getaways episode, but their actions made Ryan get a little frustrated.

Kelli and Emma won $19,530 in cash and a trip to Barbados before making it to the Bonus Round. In this round, people are supposed to add four more letters to the ones that all players get at the start of the round (three consonants and one vowel).

However, Emma and Kelli began to whisper to each other and were taking a little too long to pick the letters. They seemed indecisive and couldn’t agree. They chose “C,” and then they chose “D.” Ryan finally said, “I can hear you” when it comes to their whispering.

They then chose “F” and started whispering again. Finally, Ryan said, “A,” and said that he heard them talking about it. Ryan seemed to want to get the game going and was tired of waiting.

Kelli and Emma Bonus Round Drama

It isn’t surprising that Kelli and Emma didn’t win the Bonus Round. The two had so much trouble choosing the letters in a timely manner that they had no chance when the 10-second clock began ticking down.

The puzzle read, “A__L__NN / __SELF.” Kelli and Emma kept their whispering going and never actually made a single guess before the timer ticked down. The answer was “Applying Myself.” Ryan said he heard them whisper “Myself,” but they never actually said anything out loud.

In the end, Ryan opened the prize card and they would have won $75,000 if they got it right. They could have also had a chance at it if they had actually said something rather than just whisper to each other.

What are your thoughts about this moment on Wheel of Fortune? Are you surprised that Ryan Seacrest got so frustrated with the whispering? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.

[VERY BAD] The whole world see ‘Wheel of Fortune’ Ryan Seacrest fell flat on his face on live TV

Fans react to Ryan Seacrest’s fall during ‘Wheel of Fortune’ winner’s celebration: ‘You good, Ryan?’

A last-second win in the bonus round by a recent “Wheel of Fortune” contestant knocked Ryan Seacrest off his feet.

The host wasn’t quite ready for the level of excitement from contestant Daniel after he nailed “Guppies” as the solution in the bonus round, as seen in the Jan. 21 episode of the game show. He only had the letters “G” “E” and “S” to work with, and he guessed correctly with one second remaining.

An overjoyed Daniel bear-hugged Seacrest while moving forward, which sent the host tumbling to the floor.

“Oh my gosh!” Thomas said after seeing Seacrest hit the ground.

“I’m good, I’m good,” Seacrest said as Daniel helped him up.

Seacrest then revealed that Daniel had won $40,000 for solving the puzzle for a total haul of $71,950 from the episode.

Announcer Jim Thornton had some fun with the moment, saying “Daniel, easy on our host, but celebrate with $40,000!”

    Daniel then apologized to Seacrest.

“I’m so sorry. Did I make you fall?” he said.

Seacrest jokingly kept his distance from Daniel when announcing his total prize money.

The host then asked Daniel how he was able to do that in the last second.

“Push you over or solve the puzzle?” Daniel asked.

Seacrest also commented on the fall in a quick moment with co-host Vanna White released by the show.

“Pick me up, throw me over, tackle me,” Seacrest said. “I’m totally fine with it.”

The show shared the moment on Instagram and YouTube.

“Bookmarking this video for when we see an influx of people tackling Ryan in the show… 🤣” the Instagram caption reads.

Fans also enjoyed the impromptu celebration.

“You good, Ryan?” one YouTube commenter wrote.

“That was so wholesome! You sure you’re okay, Ryan? 😂” one commented on Instagram.

“I don’t know which I’m more impressed by, the solve or the tackle lol,” another wrote on Instagram.

“That was incredible!! And the guy getting the puzzle was cool too😂. I hope you are okay, Ryan!” another fan commented on Instagram.

Hoda returned to her beloved New Orleans over the weekend for the Super Bowl.

She posted a series of photos of herself enjoying the sporting event with friends and slipped in an image in which she had her arm wrapped around Kevin Costner.

President Donald Trump’s daughter-in-law, Lara Trump, officially has a new gig after being hired by Fox News to host her own new show.

The new gig comes as Lara, who is married to the President’s son, Eric Trump, has been eyeing a new plan for her future after stepping down as the co-chair of the Republican National Convention. Previously, it was said she was eyeing the Florida Senate seat that was vacated by Marco Rubio so he could fulfill his new role as the Secretary of State.

Now, following additional reports that her father-in-law couldn’t “stand her” and made fun of her looks, she has officially landed her new job.

According to reports, she was hired by Fox News for a new show.

The show will be one she hosts solo, after previous appearances on the network.

According to the Associated Press, Trump will be hosting a new weekend show on the network.

The hour-long series, titled “My View with Lara Trump,” will air at 9 p.m. on Saturday nights.

In an announcement by the network, they shared that the show will “focus on the return of common sense to all corners of American life as the country ushers in a new era of practicality.”

The new gig comes after she stepped down as the co-chair of the Republican National Committee.

She started her previous job at the RNC after being elected as co-chair in a unanimous vote on March 8, 2024. She resigned from the post on December 9 of that year, one month after her father-in-law won his second term in the White House.

Prior to the RNC, she had also been a contributor on Fox, making appearances in 2021 and 2022.

The news of her new gig led to mixed reactions on social media, as Fox News fans praised it, but critics called it out.

“Fox News just signed Lara Trump to host a primetime show. Imagine the MAGA Outrage is MSNBC were to pay Hunter Biden for a primetime show during Biden’s presidency,” one person wrote on X (formerly Twitter).

“Zero bias whatsoever. I’m sure she will most definitely call out anything she disagrees with regarding her father-in-law and all her friends,” another said.

“Grifters gonna grift,” a third shared.

“Lara Trump is the poster girl for incompetent DEI hires,” a fourth added.

[SO SAD] Drew Carey’s Personal Secret Unveiled, Leaving Fans Emotionally Moved

Price Is Right host Drew Carey admits deep depression that led him to attempt suicide

Price Is Right host Drew Carey has opened up about a dark period in his life where his depression led him to attempt suicide.

The Price Is Right player celebrates after winning car

    WARNING – SENSITIVE CONTENT AHEAD

The Price Is Right’s long-time host Drew Carey is always cheerful, but there was a time in his life when he wasn’t as happy as he is hosting the hit CBS game show.

Years before he took over hosting duties after long-time host Bob Barker retired in 2007, Carey experienced some dark times.

He struggled with depression and nearly committed suicide and he opened up about it just before stepping into Barker’s shoes.

Carey invited Access Hollywood’s Nancy O’Dell to the game show’s set for a tour before his debut but in between jokes, O’Dell heard about Carey’s darker days (per Today).

“It does seem that you have the golden life,” O’Dell told Carey. He replied: “It is pretty cool. I have a really good life.”

    Price Is Right's Drew Carey.

“I was depressed for a long time,” Carey revealed.

In fact, both at 18 and in his early 20s, Carey attempted to take his own life by swallowing pills.

“You are so known for your cute personality and your funniness… it seems like so many funny people have a side that they’ve had to go through to get there,” O’Dell Yubi noted.

“There is a reason we want attention all the time. Living in Hollywood, you can get disconnected from everybody. You can feel like you are the only one,” Drew explained.

“So you feel it, you hold it in and you don’t let it go and you don’t try to find help because you think, ‘Oh man if I tell anybody, I’m going to seem like I’m weak. I won’t get a movie deal. I won’t get invited to…’ whatever goes through your head.”

However, Carey made it his priority to make sure he continues to take advantage of any and all opportunities to grow.

“I learned how to believe in myself. Learned how to set goals, you know, self help books man. I just read every single one I can get a hold of and I still do. I read that stuff all the time still,” Carey concluded.

Price Is Right's Drew Carey with contestant.

“I am always coming out bigger, better, stronger and happier.”

Barker hosted on the longest-running daytime game show in US history from its beginning in 1972 to 2007. At the end of his tenure, he had decided to retire at age 83.

Carey took over hosting duties in October of that year and Barker died in August 2023 at the age of 99 following several years with Alzheimer’s disease.

In a new interview with TV Insider, Carey shared: “I just show up and punch the clock and hope I have a job every day,” he said. “I don’t think in terms of I’m the longest one. I do have a goal: I want to keep going until I die.

“This is my 18th season. I’ve got to get the 35 and 41 so I can catch Bob Barker and Pat Sajak.”

Carey has no plans to retire any time soon, adding: “Before, I was like, ‘Can I make it to five years? Can I make it to the end of my contract? Can I make it 10 years?’

“The longest I’d been on TV was The Drew Carey Show, nine years. Once I hit 10 years here, I was like, ‘Wow, that’s the longest I’ve ever had a job in my life. It’s such just a great part of my day, my year, my life. I can’t imagine giving it up.’”

The long-time host also spoke of his views of retiring to Entertainment Tonight at CBS’ fall schedule celebration in May.

“I think Bob made a mistake by retiring,” Carey said. “I’m not gonna make that same mistake. As long as my heart is ticking and they want me to be on the show, I think I’m gonna do The Price Is Right.

“I just love it. I’m not going anywhere,” he continued, adding that he was “made for” the job.

Price Is Right’s host Drew Carey was in disbelief as he watched an unusual mishap occur while an episode was airing.

The Price Is Right player celebrates after winning car

It’s not often that The Price is Right has a mishap or even a small blunder as Drew Carey and the CBS game show’s team run a smooth ship.

However, one majorly rare mistake happened once that left Carey and everyone in shock while an episode aired.

The unusual blunder happened during the January 24th episode in 2017, as the host began a new round with a massive prize up for grabs: an espresso machine, a thermal programmable coffee maker, and a coffee bean grinder by Cuisinart.

It was carted on to the stage via a flatbed that was pulled by a small-scale train engine.

The prize sat on top of a small table on the flatbed as a presenter stood close by, but that wasn’t the best choice.

    Price Is Right's Drew Carey.

The table was noticably shaky as announcer George Gray revealed the specks on the items.

Carey then had each contestant guess the price of the package, but as the last player announced his price, there was a big crash.

The noise prompted gasps from the live audience before cameras even showed what happened to viewers at home.

When the cameras paned to the side, they revealed that the entire prize had fallen and smashed to tiny pieces.

As everyone shouted, Carey just gave a nervous laugh as the last contestant comically changed his amount to $1.

“Whoops,” Carey laughed before telling viewers that they won’t be seeing the Price Train for awhile.

In the comments section of a YouTube video of the moment, one fan yubi joked: “The guy changing his bid to one dollar was the crowning touch. But I do have to give them credit for not even trying to edit the mishap out.”

A second commenter agreed: “That guy who said ‘one dollar’ is the best person on that show this year,” as a third laughed: “Buddy killed it with the ‘1 dollar’ line.”

A fourth pointed out: “They handled that situation perfectly. It was awkward, or cringey or uncomfortable. Well done Drew and the $1 dollar guy lmao.”

A fifth commended: “I just think it’s awesome that they have the crew so quickly ready to go to clean it up. Really goes to show you how much work and effort goes on behind the scenes people aren’t even aware of.”

Yet another joked: “Dude transitioned from retail to thrift store pricing in a heartbeat,” as a seventh praised: “The tech crews on these shows are professionals, as are the writers and directors. They deserve our support during the strike.”

Shockingly, this isn’t the first time a prize has been wrecked on air on the game show.

Price Is Right model Rachel Reynolds once drove a car into a wall during airing.

Carey was speaking to a contestant named Cameron and it was revealed that he would be playing for a brand-new Ford Mustang.

A part of the presentation was that one of the models drove the car onto the stage and was supposed to park it.

Rachel failed to step on the brakes at the right time and the car went from one side of the stage to another and into a temporary wall made for the show.

The car seemed to be fine but the wall was completely trashed. “I’m so sorry Cameron,” the model said, as her face turned red with embarrassment.

Carey came around and asked if Rachel was okay but she was too concerned about the car to answer.

“I think the car’s still okay,” she said. The long-time host assured Cameron that if he won, he would receive a brand-new car that hadn’t crashed.

“This is going to be a damaged, used car. We’ll get you a brand new one,” he explained.
