[VERY SAD] Drew Carey brings tears to fans’ eyes when he reveals an emotional EMOTIONAL STORY with Bob Barker before he passed away

Drew Carey reveals the important lessons he learned from Bob Barker

The comedian inherited his “Price Is Right” hosting job from Barker in 2007.

Drew Carey is sharing the most meaningful tip he learned after watching Bob Barker lead “The Price Is Right” for over 30 years.

The long–running game show returns for Season 52 on Sept. 25, marking the first season to air since Barker died on Aug. 26 at the age of 99.

Barker retired from his hosting duties in 2007 and Carey stepped in. Season 52 will be Carey’s 17th season watching contestants try to win money, cars and trips.

While speaking with “Entertainment Tonight” about the upcoming season, the 65-year-old comedian reflected on Barker’s legacy as the previous host of “The Price Is Right.”

“He was so good at this,” Carey said. “He was so good at relating to people and getting them to be relaxed and be themselves.”

He added, “You watch his demeanor and his attitude. He never seemed stressed.”

Carey pointed out that Barker mastered appearing “comfortable” in front of multiple television cameras.

“He always seemed in control, like everything was going to be fine. I don’t always think like that,” Carey continued, laughing. “But I can fake it through an hour.”

The actor also revealed the important lesson he picked up from Barker.

“I’ve learned to relax while I’m onstage and not be so uptight about what’s going on. I just have to own the show and make it like my living room, because he was so comfortable in front of a camera,” Carey explained.

Since Barker left the show, Carey said he thinks the contestants are the reason why viewers keep tuning in every season.

“People want to see regular people like them losing their minds on TV and having their best day,” he shared. “The viewing audience almost always see somebody they can relate to in some kind of way. … It’s just average people having the best day of their lives.”

He said the contestants have become “the secret sauce of the whole show.”

In addition to his effortless connection with contestants, yubi, Barker was also known for his signature signoff.

“This is Bob Barker reminding you to help control the pet population. Have your pets spayed or neutered,” the beloved host said at the end of every episode.

Barker, who was also known for hosting “Truth or Consequences,” died in his home in Hollywood Hills, his publicist Roger Neal said in a statement at the time.

A death certificate obtained by NBC News later confirmed that Barker died from Alzheimer’s disease.

The certificate also said Barker’s hypertension, hypothyroidism and hyperlipidemia contributed to his death.

As the host of “The Price is Right,” Drew Carey is no stranger to excited contestants jumping on him, lifting him up, swinging him around and even taking him down with them. But there was one occasion when it wasn’t the host who fell down on “The Price is Right,” but instead the announcer of the show, George Gray was knocked down by a contestant who lost control after winning a prize.

The contestant in question was a woman and she had just won a couple of paddle boards after playing the game called “Most Expensive.” She was super excited when her victory was revealed and he ran over to Gray who was standing in front of a couple of television screens and clapping for her. However, as she ran towards him, she lost her balance and that’s when the infamous events unfolded.
Screenshot showing announcer George Gray on the floor on Screenshot showing announcer George Gray on the floor on “The Price is Right” (Image credit: YouTube | priceisright)

The contestant tripped and in her attempt to prevent a hard fall, grabbed the nearest thing she could find, which unfortunately happened to be Gray’s suit. The woman was sprinting towards the announcer and there was no way she could have stopped the momentum. Hence the announcer was first pushed backward and pulled downward. Thankfully, his head didn’t hit any of the TV screens behind him, otherwise things would have been ugly.

Drew Carey just stood there and watched the whole thing unfold. A few seconds later he started laughing instead of checking on his colleague. Model Chrissy Teigen was there to help both the contestant and Gray. She even administered fake CPR to the announcer who saw the funny side of things and lay on the floor laughing. “We’ve got to clean this up,” the host said, still laughing his heart out.

George Gray usually stays in the background but this is not the only time that he has fallen on his back on the set of “The Price is Right.” In an earlier episode of the show, the announcer decided to do two jobs at once and was presenting the prize while announcing it too. The item was a treadmill on which he was walking backward while describing it. The multitasking probably proved to be a bit too much as he lost his balance and fell flat on his back on the exercise equipment.

It could have been a nasty incident had he hit the back of his head hard and sustained injuries there. What was highly impressive was how the announcer didn’t miss a beat and finished what he had to announce as he sat on the floor after falling. The fall looked painful but he didn’t let it stop him or lower his enthusiasm.

Drew Carey was so impressed with his co-worker that he hailed his professionalism as the announcer pat himself on the back and said, “Didn’t miss a word.” “That’s a pro right there buddy,” the long-time host of the show responded.

[VERY BAD] Fans are utterly outraged by Norah O’Donnell’s actions after she left CBS Evening New

Ousted Norah O’Donnell clings to Washington office amid shock shake-up, fueling media frenzy and outrage

Former CBS Evening News anchor Norah O’Donnell, 51, has refused to leave her Washington, D.C., office following a sudden shake-up at the network. The decision came after the network announced plans to relocate the show back to New York. Sources say the change has sparked turmoil and uncertainty within the organization.

    Office Stand and Network Shake-Up

O’Donnell assumed the role of anchor in 2019 and quickly became a household name. Her polished delivery and in-depth reporting earned her high regard among viewers and peers. However, the network’s decision to move operations triggered an unexpected reaction.

Rather than vacate her elegant Washington office, she has chosen to remain. Insiders report that her reluctance to leave the space is unusual and has caused a stir behind the scenes.

The office, described by insiders as resembling a palace, remains fully equipped with personal boxes and memorabilia. Staff members note that the boxes sit untouched, as if preserving the remnants of a cherished past. One CBS insider commented, “She acts like it never happened.” The controversial refusal to vacate the office is the most contentious part of the story. Critics argue that her behavior disrupts the planned transition and may signal deeper issues within the network’s leadership.

    Fan Reactions and Industry Impact

Viewers and industry analysts have reacted strongly to the news. Many loyal fans express disappointment and concern. They fear that the shake-up might lead to further instability at the network. Moreover, some question whether her actions reflect a broader unwillingness to adapt to change. Transitioning from a long-held position to a new era can be challenging for any public figure.

In addition, media experts believe that this incident may affect the network’s public image.

They note that the controversy could overshadow other news stories if not managed correctly. Furthermore, some commentators suggest that the situation reveals tensions between legacy talent and corporate restructuring. They argue that the network might face challenges in regaining public trust if the issue persists.

Despite the heated reactions, a few supporters defend O’Donnell. They claim that her stance reflects loyalty and personal integrity. These supporters insist that she deserves a graceful exit and that her dedication to the newsroom should be honored. Nevertheless, the controversy remains a subject of intense debate among industry watchers.

Transitioning to the future, the network now faces the task of balancing operational efficiency with respect for its veteran staff. Executives have yet to comment publicly on the matter. However, the network’s planned move to New York signals a desire to refresh its approach and possibly bring in new talent. In the interim, O’Donnell’s continued presence in her Washington office casts a shadow over the transition.

CBS Evening News With Norah O'Donnell' Makes Move To New D.C. Home

In conclusion, Norah O’Donnell’s decision to remain in her Washington office highlights a clash between tradition and change at CBS Evening News. The situation underscores the challenges that arise during major organizational shifts.

As discussions intensify among fans, colleagues, and industry analysts, the network must navigate these turbulent waters carefully. O’Donnell’s controversial stance, particularly her refusal to accept the new reality, will likely be remembered as a defining moment during this shake-up. The coming days may reveal further developments in this unfolding story, which has already ignited a media storm and raised questions about the network’s future direction.

Antics of contestants on “The Price is Right” are one of the things that make the show entertaining and relatable, but sometimes their joy can be too much for the host and audience alike.

In a rare moment on the show, another person from the audience came down to celebrate with the contestant and they both collapsed to the floor together in front of model Alexis Gaube, who seemed helpless and baffled.

The contestant in question was a woman named Alexandria and she had made it to the final round of the show, which was Showcase Showdown. Her opponent was bidding for a trip to the Seychelles and a car, and the price she guessed was $5,793 less than the actual value of both prizes. This gave Alexandria a chance to seal the deal if she could guess the price of a hot tub and the trip.

Screenshot showing the moment Alexandria realised that she had won Showcase. (Image credit: Instagram | @therealpriceisright)

Screenshot showing the moment Alexandria realised that she had won Showcase. (Image credit: Instagram | @therealpriceisright)

But unlike a lot of other contestants, she had help. Her mother was in the studio and she was determined to help her daughter out. With her guidance, Alexandria guessed $22,500 as the price of both the trip and the hot tub, and that was only $164 away from the actual price of both prizes.

The rules of the game state that if a contestant guesses an amount within $250 of the actual price of the items, they win both showcases, including the car.

Alexandria rushed over to the location of the car and her mother also made her way onto the stage and hugged her. In their excitement, they fell to the floor while the rest of the people on stage didn’t know what to do as per TV Shows Ace.

“The Price is Right” audience has always been quite helpful to the competitors for decades now. Even when Bob Barker was the host, the people behind the camera never shied away from helping a contestant win big. A contestant named Brenda experienced this nature of the audience as well.

She was playing the Any Number game to win the prize. In this game, there are three rows. The first row had four digits that represented the price of the car. The second row had three digits that represented the price of the teddy bears.

The third row also had three digits that represented a certain amount of cash in a piggy bank. The numbers available were 0 to 9 and no digit repeated itself.

The contestant had to guess a number that appeared in its corresponding box.

The first object with its price revealed was to be awarded to the player. Before guessing every single digit, yubi, Brenda turned to the audience for help.

It took some time and the situation turned tense, but she ultimately revealed the price of the car first thanks to the people in the studio and got what she had wanted the most..

Reba McEntire’s New Sitcom Gets Renewal Fate Revealed Ahead of Finale

Country music icon and sitcom veteran Reba McEntire has another hit show on her hands, 18 years after her first sitcom, Reba, ended in 2007. McEntire’s newest venture, Happy’s Place, which airs on NBC and streams on Peacock, is in the midst of its first season and, per Deadline, has just been given the green light for Season 2.

Happy’s Place, a multi-camera comedy that premiered in October 2024, follows Bobbie (McEntire) as she inherits a tavern from her late father. Unbeknownst to her, she learns that she’s not the only owner of the business. Bobbie discovers that she has a much younger half-sister she never knew existed, named Isabella, played by Belissa Escobedo.

Reba alum Melissa Peterman, plays Gabby in the series, a bartender who is full of drama. The first season also saw Steve Howey (Shameless), who played Van Montgomery on Reba, guest star in an episode of Happy’s Place.

The Ratings Keep Increasing for Happy’s Place

Happy’s Place’s pilot episode was viewed by 17.6 million people across all platforms, which is up an astounding 338% from its initial premiere on Oct. 18, 2024. The sitcom is the No. 2 NBC comedy launch for Peacock, behind St. Denis Medical. Combined, the two first-year comedies have had a total of almost 45 million viewers linearly and across digital platforms.

The series was created by Kevin Abbott and Julie Abbott and also stars Pablo Castleblanco, Tokala Black Elk, and Rex Linn. Kevin Abbot is the executive producer along with McEntire, Michael Hanel, Mindy Schultheis, Matt Berry, and Pamela Fryman. It’s produced by Universal Television, which is a division of Universal Studios Group.

    St. Denis Medical Also Renewed

Happy’s Place is the second freshman NBC sitcom to receive a renewal for a new season. In January, St. Denis Medical, a single-camera mockumentary comedy series in a similar vein as The Office and Parks and Recreation, was renewed for a second season, per Variety. St. Denis Medical is from the team that produced another hit NBC comedy, Superstore. The logline for the series reads: “At St. Denis Medical Center, the dedicated doctors and nurses are trying their best to treat patients while maintaining their own sanity.”

St. Denis Medical stars Reno: 911 alum Wendi McLendon-Covey, Allison Tolman, Josh Lawson, Kahyun Kim, Mekki Leeper, David Allan Grier, Kaliko Kauahi, and Stephen Schneider.

    Two of the Highest-Performing Comedies

Happy’s Place and St. Denis Medical are the two best-performing comedy series for NBC. Its other two comedies, Night Court and Lopez vs. Lopez, are considered to be “on the bubble.” Last November, the network awarded both Happy’s Place and Lopez vs. Lopez an order for more scripts, but Happy’s Place was the only one given a full-season order.

The next episode of Happy’s Place airs on Feb. 21. New episodes air every Friday on NBC and stream on Peacock.

[SURPRISE] America back to sleep with Little House On The Prairie reboot. Y’all like the one with the little house?

Did you know people streamed 220 million hours of Little House On The Prairie last year? Netflix apparently does.

Netflix to soothe America back to sleep with Little House On The Prairie reboot

There’s something not-quite-palpable in the air of late; an apparently genuine worry from Hollywood that if it doesn’t start feeding familiar shapes and images to the people who have most recently grasped the steering wheel of the endlessly skidding school bus called America, they might be in for a very rough time. “Y’all like Little House On The Prairie, right?” they ask the teeming masses. “Y’all like the one with the little house?”

Which is to say: Variety reports that Netflix has just issued a green light to a modern version of Little House, the Laura Ingalls Wilder book series that spawned 9 seasons of Michael Landon spouting folksy wisdom for his various children and neighbors. The new series is being developed by Rebecca Sonnenshine, yubi, an executive producer on The Boys, which is, admittedly, not the sort of C.V. we typically associate with down-home country folk.

(Although it’s worth remembering that the final Little House movie ended with the simple, gentle folk of Walnut Grove dynamiting their own town all to shit to spite a wealthy land baron, which does sound like it might have come out of the Billy Butcher playbook.) Sonnenshine will showrun the series as well as executive produce, the latter alongside Trip Friendly, son of original Little House producer Ed Friendly.

Little House on the Prairie' Reboot: What We Know | Woman's World

Is this Yellowstone‘s fault? It seems possible: The logline for the new series mentions that it’s “Part hopeful family drama, part epic survival tale, and part origin story of the American West,” which sounds a lot like all those various streaming historical spin-offs with Taylor Sheridan’s rustic thumbprint all over them.

Sonnenshine, at least, sounds like a true believer, saying in a statement that, “I fell deeply in love with these books when I was five years old. They inspired me to become a writer and a filmmaker, and I am honored and thrilled to be adapting these stories for a new global audience with Netflix.” Nielsen recently reported that the 200-plus episodes of Little House have been doing gangbusters on streaming over the past year, garnering “13.25 billion viewing minutes on Peacock” in 2024.

No word yet on casting, or which poor sap is going to doom themselves by inviting direct comparisons to Michael Landon’s iconic set of immaculately kept frontier curls.

The upcoming Big Bang Theory spinoff is bringing back another familiar face.

John Ross Bowie is reprising his role as Barry Kripke in the Max series, according to Variety. The show is still in development but Bowie is reuniting with previously announced cast members Brian Posehn, Lauren Lapkus and Kevin Sussman.

The alums appeared in various capacities on The Big Bang Theory throughout the years. CBS’ hit sitcom, which aired from 2007 to 2019, starred Jim Parsons, Kaley Cuoco, Johnny Galecki, Simon Helberg, Kunal Nayyar, Mayim Bialik and Melissa Rauch as a group of friends made up of scientists and their significant others.

CBS initially expanded the universe with Young Sheldon, which focused on Sheldon (Iain Armitage) as a child prodigy growing up in Texas. Viewers met Sheldon’s brother Georgie (Montana Jordan) and that paved the way for his love story with Mandy (Emily Osment) to become the focus of another spinoff, Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage.

“You can watch Young Sheldon without knowing anything about The Big Bang Theory. And I believe you can watch Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage without watching Young Sheldon,” Jordan exclusively told Us Weekly in October 2024. “It’s a new start.”

While fans wait for more news about Max’s spinoff, Bialik, 49, has weighed in on whether she would return.

“I haven’t been contacted,” she exclusively revealed to Us last month. “I’ve seen what’s been announced and I think that’s where a lot of people’s knowledge of it is right [now] — me being one of them.”

Bialik is excited to find out more as a fan, adding, “These characters were so iconic and so significant to people. [Creators] Chuck [Lorre] and Bill [Prady] really created a world of characters that people want to know about and follow up on. So, I’m very flattered and I would be very flattered if I am contacted.”

The actress said she would love the chance to play Amy Farrah Fowler again.

“I love being known as that character and I love what it means to people. So for me, it would be a thrill to be part of it in any way,” she noted. “It was a really, really fun experience to be part of that [during my guest appearance with Jim Parsons] on Young Sheldon. I also get to interact with [creators] Steven [Molaro] and Steve [Holland] and a lot of our writers and producers, so it’s a whole world that I still feel very connected to.”

Mel and Jack’s relationship reached a huge milestone in season 6 of Virgin River, as the pair prepared for the wedding of the year (mostly orchestrated by Hope). However, alongside the dreamy journey was the usual dose of drama.

The latest season had fraud, threats from old enemies and life-changing news for a fan-favourite character. The final episode dropped a few bombshells for fans, and as such, you may be wondering when the Netflix hit is returning. Here is everything we know.

You can also read our full review of Virgin River season 6.

When could Virgin River season 7 be released?

The good news is that season 7 of Virgin River is officially on the way, making it Netflix’s longest-running drama series to date.

    0 of 46 minutes, 18 secondsVolume 0%

The cast confirmed the happy news on social media well ahead of the season 6 premiere:

Netflix hasn’t confirmed exactly when season 7 will drop, but we can guess when it may happen based on previous instalments and rumours.

The last two seasons of the show have hit screens towards the end of the year. According to Deadline, scripts were expected to be finalised in January 2025, with filming aiming to start this spring, as confirmed by showrunner Patrick Sean Smith.

Whats On Netflix has since reported that filming is expected to kick off on 12 March and finish on 26 June 2025.

Filming for season 6 kicked off in February 2024, so this is a little later than that. Therefore, we estimate Virgin River season 7 will arrive in either late 2025/early 2026. The latter is more likely if production takes as long as it did last year.

How many episodes will there be in Virgin River season 7?

Deadline confirmed Virgin River season 7 will have ten episodes, just as season 6 did.

What will the plot of Virgin River season 7 be?

Spoilers for Virgin River season 6 follow.

Despite several obstacles along the way (both big and small), Mel and Jack had the wedding of their dreams. Now, they’re getting another huge life change: a baby is officially on the way.

Mel has had several heartbreaking miscarriages, and had to come to terms with her difficult fertility journey. At the beginning of the season, the pair were discussing the long process of adoption. To their surprise, a baby may be joining their family sooner than they thought.

Marley was a patient at Mel’s new birthing centre and was set to give her baby to a local couple. The day after the wedding, Marley showed up unexpectedly at Mel’s cabin, distraught, as she believed that the husband and wife were going to pull out of the agreement.

Mel and Jack Virgin River season 6

    Netflix

As such, she told Mel that she wanted her to have the baby instead. The pair had already spoken about adoption and parenthood earlier in the season, so Marley knew that this was something Mel really wanted.

Alexandra Breckenridge gave the following quote to TVLine: “I’m really excited to play Mel becoming a mother, knowing what it all means for her… all of those emotions are going to come out when she finally becomes the mother that she’s wanted to be basically her whole life.”

But Mel and Jack becoming parents wasn’t the only cliffhanger for season 6. The final shot showed Jack checking on Charmaine, who didn’t turn up to the wedding.

Her front door was left ajar, and the house was a mess. Jack opened the twins’ bedroom door, a horrified look on his face. We don’t know what he saw, but we do know that former gang leader Calvin was harassing Charmaine to see the kids after she took out a restraining order.

We’ll likely see what has happened to Charmaine, and if there’s any danger to anyone else in the town – Calvin already threatened Jack earlier in the season.

Another key plot for season 7 is the possible closure of Doc’s clinic. Vernon was under investigation by Dr. Hayes after performing controversial – but life-saving – surgery.

His license was then suspended, and the decision seemed odd considering his years of experience. However, Hope revealed that Grace Valley Hospital was looking to expand into Virgin River, so the urgency to stop the clinic from operating may be related.

Virgin River season 6 - Muriel and Dr. Cameron

    Netflix

Muriel will continue her fight against breast cancer, and the showrunners told TVLine that are keen to show another side to this. “We’ve now seen her persevere through the diagnosing of it, and in Season 7 we’ll get into the treatment part of it. Putting a positive spin on life-threatening illnesses feels like a story that is worth putting out in the world.”

The same interview also confirmed that we’ve seen the last of Mark Ghanime as Cameron.

In the final episode, Mike decided to pop the question to Brie. She finally came clean to him about sleeping with Brady, but Mike already knew. With that all in mind, who will Jack’s sister choose?

Brady confessed to still feeling that she was the one before the ceremony, something that Lark overheard. As revenge, she stole all the money from his bank account and left town.

Brady will no doubt be trying to get his money back, and may be confronted by Mike about the affair.

Virgin River season 6 - Denny and Lizzie

    Netflix

Then there’s Lizzie and Denny, who are awaiting the arrival of their own baby. They’re young parents, but they’ve been preparing well – and discussing the possible future of their baby girl considering the hereditary Huntington’s Disease.

It’s possible that Mel and Lizzie will bond over their journeys into new motherhood.

Finally, Kaia confessed to Preacher that marriage is not something she sees on the cards after going through a recent divorce. Can the pair find a way forward in their relationship if they want different things?

Smith told Deadline that the new season will pick up around two hours after the events of the finale, so there won’t be a time jump.

Virgin River season 7 cast – who could return?

We expect the following cast members to reprise their roles in the sixth instalment of Virgin River:

    Alexandra Breckenridge – Mel
    Martin Henderson – Jack
    Tim Matheson – Dr. Vernon
    Annette O’Toole – Hope
    Benjamin Hollingsworth – Brady
    Colin Lawrence – Preacher
    Marco Grazzini – Mike
    Zibby Allen – Brie
    Sarah Dugdale – Lizzie
    Kai Bradbury – Denny
    Teryl Rothery – Muriel
    John Allen Nelson – Everett
    Kandyse McClure – Kaia
    David Cubitt – Calvin
    Lauren Hammersley – Charmaine
    Nicola Cavendish – Connie
    Gwynyth Walsh – Jo Ellen

As mentioned above, Mark Ghanime will not return as Cameron.

    Netflix

Is there a trailer for Virgin River season 7?

Virgin River season 7 hasn’t started filming yet, so a trailer won’t arrive for a while. We’ll update this article as soon as we have it.

Will there be a season 8 of Virgin River?

Netflix hasn’t yet confirmed if Virgin River will be renewed for season 8, but it’s continuing to perform well and isn’t expensive to produce, so we’re keeping our fingers crossed.

If season 8 gets the green light, we’ll probably find out closer to the season 7 launch, which we estimate to be around late 2025/early 2026.

That said, Alexandra Breckenridge gave the following quote on Katee Sackhoff’s podcast, The Sackhoff Show:

They have me under contract currently for eight seasons. I think at this point, if they cancel it, if they end it, they’ll wrap it up as like, ‘This is the final season.’ And so, we’ll probably know when it’s the final season. They haven’t said that yet.

That makes the possibility of an eighth season seem more likely. You can view the quote below:

What we do know is that Patrick Sean Smith is exploring the possibility of a prequel spin-off show, following Mel’s parents Sarah and Everett, and other younger versions of characters like Doc and Hope.

Since its debut on CBS on September 11, 1967, there was something distinctively special about “The Carol Burnett Show.” This sketch comedy series spanned 279 episodes during its initial run, featuring acclaimed performances and comedic skits that were witty, sharp, and heavy on detail. Every actor who was a part of the show slipped into the shoes of a variety of characters that still remain memorable, including Carol Burnett’s Charwoman (her signature role) and Nora Desmond, her spoof of the “Sunset Blvd.” character Norma Desmond. Some sketches were parodies of classic films such as “Gone With the Wind” while others mimicked soap opera structures or commercials.

By 1977, the popularity of the show had spiked, leading to some of the outstanding sketches being re-edited into standalone programs compiled in “Carol Burnett and Friends,” which mashed the best skits into half-hour episodes. While the show relied on guest stars such as Jim Nabors and Steve Lawrence occasionally to bolster popular appeal, the crux of “The Carol Burnett” show was comprised of three people, apart from Burnett herself. Comedic actor Harvey Korman became a valuable regular, playing roles like Ed Higgins and F. Lee Carman, while actor Lyle Waggoner often played love interests during most skits and also doubled as the announcer. Last, but not least, Vicki Lawrence, who was only 18 when she was hired, proved to be an asset for the show, and is known best for her performance in “The Family.”

While Tim Conway started out as a guest star, he soon became a regular after Waggoner left after Season 8, allowing Conway to take centerstage for the next three seasons. Sadly, out of the show’s main cast, only a couple cast members are still alive, as Waggoner, Korman, and Conway unfortunately passed away in 2005, 2008, and 2019, respectively.

Carol Burnett was incredibly acclaimed as a performer even before she launched her own comedy show, as her acting career took off after an astounding performance in the Broadway musical, “Once Upon a Mattress.” After being nominated for a Tony Award for this role, Burnett went on to become a regular in “The Garry Moore Show” (a variety/comedic skit series), which earned her an Emmy for “Outstanding Performance in a Variety or Musical Program or Series.” The list of Burnett’s accomplishments kept growing after this point, as she was a force to be reckoned with onscreen, capable of performing roles of various tints, although comedy remained her specialty. “The Carol Burnett Show” was defined by her presence, and her ability to hook audiences and keep them intrigued is frankly, legendary.

Among Burnett’s many memorable roles are her appearances in “Pete ‘n’ Tille,” “The Front Page,” and “Annie,” where she starred alongside the legendary Tim Curry. She also played in television shows like “Friendly Fire,” and she lent her voice in animated films, including “The Trumpet of the Swan” and “The Secret World of Arrietty.” Burnett also voiced the talking chair in “Toy Story 4.”

The enduring popularity of “The Carol Burnett Show” birthed a retrospective in 2001, which earned a whopping 3 million views, re-cementing its legacy and what it still means to audiences. Over the years, Burnett received several accolades and honors for her astounding body of work, including 18 Golden Globe nominations and 2 Peabody Awards. An NBC special titled “Carol Burnett: 90 Years of Laughter + Love” was held on her 90th birthday to honor her contribution to the arts and pay tribute to her as a performer. Burnett’s latest performances were roles in the final season of “Better Call Saul” and in the Apple TV+ series “Palm Royale.”

Vicki Lawrence auditioned for “The Carol Burnett Show” after she sent a letter to Burnett, expressing her admiration for the stage actress, so she was brought on as someone who could play the role of a younger sister to Burnett’s characters in the skits. Lawrence started off by playing Chrissy in the “Carol and Sis” sketches, which proved to be immensely popular, and many senior actors, including Burnett and Harvey Korman, acted as her mentors over the years and coached her on key performance aspects.

Her performance in “The Family” skits allowed Lawrence to branch off into her own television sitcom titled “Mama’s Family,” where the premise was greatly expanded over the years and eventually culminated into stand-up comedy routines in 2001. Lawrence won a Golden Globe nomination for her contribution to Burnett’s show, and since then, she has made guest appearances in shows over the years, including “Hannah Montana,” “The Cool Kids,” and the animated series, “Hermie and Friends.”

Apart from being a performer, Lawrence is also known for her one-hit single “The Night the Lights Went Out in Georgia,” a Southern Gothic murder ballad that hit number 1 in the U.S. Billboard Top 100 in 1972. Lawrence is also known to host various shows, including the daytime NBC version of” Win, Lose or Draw,” while also participating as a celebrity player on game shows like “Password Plus” and “Match Game.” Currently, Lawrence is touring the country as a part of her promotion for the show, “Vicki Lawrence & Mama: A Two-Woman Show,” where she reprises her role as Mama/Thelma Harper, keeping the legacy of the original show alive.

The Carol Burnett Show was a legendary television program. It sported an all-star cast featuring some of the biggest names in comedy. Tim Conway, Harvey Korman, Vicki Lawrence and Carol Burnett could take anything and make it funny, causing the audience to double over in laughter.

In addition to making their studio audience and those watching at home crack up, they often did it to one another. Tim Conway was the guiltiest of doing this, usually making Harvey lose his composure and burst into laughter. Those breaks in character created the show’s most iconic, memorable moments.

However, as a short clip posted on YouTube shows, Carol was not immune to bursting into laughter during a skit. In the video, Vicki plays Mama, who is likely her most memorable character from the show. Carol is Mama’s daughter, Eunice, and the two are engaged in yet another disagreement.

Mama is chasing Eunice down, berating her daughter for whatever incorrect, lame-brained decision she has just made. At one point during the skit, Mama gets on a roll and has the hilarious insults flying out of her mouth. It quickly becomes too much for Carol to take, and she bursts into laughter.

“You ain’t playing with a full deck, Eunice!” Mama informs her daughter. “I think somebody blew your pilot light out.”

At this point, Carol has a huge smirk on her face. You just know she is about to crack up. She tries to turn and look at Mama, but she can’t.

Carol then bursts into laughter, desperately trying to conceal the laughter with her hand on her face.

    But Mama is not done.
