Many viewers are wondering why MSNBC decided to cancel The ReidOut, a show that has been a staple on the network since 2020, covering political news and current events. With new leadership in place, the network is making adjustments to its programming lineup.

If you’re curious why Joy Reid’s show was canceled, here’s everything we know.

Why was Joy Reid’s show canceled?

MSNBC is undergoing a major programming shake-up, which includes canceling The ReidOut, the evening show hosted by Joy Reid. While the network has yet to release an official statement, reports confirm that Reid’s final episode will air this week. The decision is part of broader strategic changes under MSNBC’s new leadership.

Since 2020, The ReidOut has been a key part of MSNBC’s lineup, featuring political discussions and high-profile interviews. However, in recent months, the show has struggled with declining ratings. According to Fox News, in February 2025, the program averaged 973,000 viewers, a significant drop from the 1.3 million viewers it drew in February 2024.

Under new network president Rebecca Kutler, MSNBC is making strategic changes, including replacing Reid’s 7 p.m. slot with a new panel-style program. The new show will be hosted by Symone Sanders-Townsend, Michael Steele, and Alicia Menendez, who currently co-host The Weekend.

Joy Reid Cries After MSNBC Cancels Her Podcast

The cancellation of Reid’s show is just one of several programming shifts at MSNBC. Under Rebecca Kutler, the network is making additional adjustments across its daytime, weekend, and primetime schedules.

Reports suggest that Alex Wagner, who previously hosted the 9 p.m. slot, will not return to her usual schedule. Meanwhile, former White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki is being considered for an expanded role with more airtime.

These changes come following the recent departure of MSNBC’s former president, Rashida Jones, with Rebecca Kutler now stepping in to lead the network’s next phase. As MSNBC continues restructuring, further programming shifts are expected across both weekday and weekend schedules.

Why did Joy Reid leave her MSNBC show? What is replacing ‘The ReidOut’? What to know

Joy Reid’s MSNBC show “The ReidOut” has come to an end, as the political commentator and television host is leaving the network.

USA TODAY reports Rebecca Kutler, who officially took over as MSNBC’s president earlier this month, announced several programming changes at the liberal-leaning cable news network. As part of the shakeup, Reid’s show has been canceled after five years on air, and she is leaving the network.

Here’s what you should know about the show’s cancellation and “The ReidOut’s” final broadcast.

What happened to Joy Reid at MSNBC?

Joy Reid’s MSNBC show “The ReidOut” has been canceled, and Reid is leaving the network.

Why did Joy Reid’s show get canceled by MSNBC?

According to USA TODAY, “The ReidOut” show was a “casualty” in the wide programming shakeup at MSNBC.

The cancellation came amid a revamping of MSNBC’s lineup by president Rebecca Kutler, who replaced former network president Rashida Jones in early February. Before succeeding Jones as president, Kutler was MSNBC’s senior vice president of content strategy.

While addressing MSNBC leaders in February, she said the year ahead would involve “getting to build a new news organization,” which is “going to be hard, but it’s also going to be exciting and interesting and a really important time to do what all of us do.”

Reid confirmed the cancellation of “The ReidOut” across her accounts on Blue Sky, Facebook and Instagram, thanking “everyone who has reached out with kindness and encouragement.” She also said she is “so very proud” of her team at “The ReidOut.”

In a staff memo, Kutler thanked Reid for “her countless contributions over the years.”

When is Joy Reid’s last show?

The final broadcast of “The ReidOut” aired at 7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 24.

    Who will replace Joy Reid?

In the coming weeks, Reid’s 7 p.m. ET hour will be filled by a series of rotating anchors, including Symone Sanders-Townsend, Michael Steele and Alicia Menendez, who currently host “The Weekend” on Saturdays and Sundays.

Sanders-Townsend has served as an adviser and spokesperson for former Vice President Kamala Harris, while Steele is a former chair of the Republican National Committee.

Kutler also announced Monday that a new trio of hosts will anchor morning and evening editions of “The Weekend.” Jonathan Capehart will be among the morning hosts, while the evening lineup will include Ayman Mohyeldin.

    Who is Joy Reid?

Aside from hosting “The ReidOut,” Joy Reid also served as host of MSNBC’s “A.M. Joy.” She is known for providing sharp political analysis, and is a leading voice on race, Trump administration policies and the media.

Reid has published several books, including “Fracture: Barack Obama, the Clintons, and the Racial Divide,” “Medgar and Myrlie: Medgar Evers and the Love Story That Awakened America,” and “The Man Who Sold America: Trump and the Unraveling of the American Story.”

    Who owns MSNBC?

MSNBC is a cable news channel owned by NBCUniversal, which is a subsidiary of Comcast.

However, Comcast recently announced a plan to break off most of its cable TV networks, including MSNBC, from NBC News into its own company, currently known as SpinCo. MSNBC would retain its name after the spinoff, according to USA TODAY.

Joy Reid is leaving MSNBC, the network’s new president announced in a memo to staff on Monday, marking an end to the prime time show hosted by the progressive political analyst and broadcast news anchor.

Reid’s namesake show, “The ReidOut,” has been a fixture of MSNBC’s evening programming since 2020. In the hourlong newscast, held on weeknights at 7 p.m. E.T., Reid conducts interviews with politicians and other newsmakers — diving into an extensive array of political issues and intersections between race, culture and social justice.

Reports about MSNBC cancelling “The ReidOut” emerged online over the weekend, sparking outrage from supporters of the show, who point to the impact it’s had on elevating historically marginalized voices in today’s media landscape. MSNBC president Rebecca Kutler later confirmed Reid’s departure on Monday afternoon in a memo to staff, viewed by The Associated Press.

“Joy Reid is leaving the network and we thank her for her countless contributions over the years,” Kutler wrote.

In the coming weeks, rotating anchors will host Reid’s hour, Kutler added. Symone Sanders Townsend, Michael Steele, and Alicia Menendez — who currently serve as hosts of “The Weekend,” another MSNBC program — will later move to weekdays at 7 p.m. to host a new ensemble news program, per the staff memo.

Why is Joy Reid leaving her show? Who is replacing her on MSNBC?

Prior to Kutler’s memo, Reid also took to social media to thank those who she said had reached out to her with messages of support over the weekend.

“I just want to say thank you to everyone who has reached out with kindness and encouragement, both personally and in these social media streets,” Reid wrote in a message posted to BlueSky and Instagram just after midnight — adding that she was “so very proud” of “The ReidOut” team.

Late Sunday, Reid also joined a call streamed on YouTube with Win With Black Women — sharing that Monday would be her final show. She told the group that she had “been through every emotion” since learning the news, including anger and disappointment, but “where I’ve landed on today is just gratitude.”

“My show had value,” she said on the call, listing the range of topics her team tackled each day. “Whether it was the Black Lives Matter issues … (or) talking about Gaza and the fact that we as the American people have … a right to object to little babies being bombed … I am not sorry that I stood up for those things.”

Over the years, Reid has been recognized with numerous accolades for her work. Most recently, yubi, she won two NAACP Image Awards over the weekend — including for “The ReidOut” as an outstanding news series, as well as for outstanding literary work for her biography “Medgar and Myrlie: Medgar Evers and the Love Story That Awakened America.”

The cancellation of “The ReidOut” isn’t the only programming change on the horizon for MSNBC. In Monday’s staff memo, Kutler also pointed to several other updates to both the weekday and weekend lineup — most of which are set to go into effect in late April.

They include moving Jen Psaki to the 9 p.m. primetime hour for Tuesdays through Fridays and ending Alex Wagner’s current nighttime spot. Wagner will stay with the network as a senior political analyst, per Monday’s memo. And Rachel Maddow’s namesake show will return to Mondays at 9 p.m. following the first 100 days of the Trump administration.

Canceled Joy Reid shows why MSNBC has outlived purpose as lefty propaganda machine

Meanwhile, as MSNBC works to consolidate broadcast locations to New York and Washington, D.C., the network is also planning to end operations in Miami — in a move that will impact shows like “José Díaz-Balart Reports” and “The Katie Phang Show.” Díaz-Balart will stay with NBC News as anchor of “Weekend Nightly News,” the staff memo notes, while Phang will remain with MSNBC as a legal correspondent.

“In the years ahead, we must continue to show up for our audiences in this critical moment while simultaneously best positioning ourselves for the future,” Kutler wrote Monday — adding she had hoped to share such changes with staff directly and “understand the frustration that you first learned about this over the weekend and not from me.”

Kutler, a former CNN executive who joined MSNBC in 2022, was officially MSNBC president on Feb. 12 — just weeks into serving under an interim capacity after former network head Rashida Jones announced that she would be stepping down last month.

The leadership and programming shakeup also arrives amid a corporate ownership transition. MSNBC is set to no longer have any corporate connection to NBC News once a spinoff formally takes effect later this year.

Also on Monday, NBC veteran Lester Holt announced that he would be stepping down as anchor of the network’s flagship “Nightly News” broadcast by early summer — to expand his role in “Dateline” programming.

Wearing her hair down, she stood with a shimmering smile as she placed one arm around Kevin.

The actor also appeared all smiles as a grin spread across his unshaven face. Kevin wore a white button shirt with a pair of dark shades covering his eyes. While the two were seen in the picture, they weren’t spotted sitting together during the big game. Instead, yubi, Kevin was seated next to comedian Pete Davidson.

Hoda became single in 2022 when she split from Joel Schiffman. Their divorce, though, was left on relatively good terms as Hoda has been vocal about that era of her life. In Aug. 2024, she said on the Jamie Kern Lima Show that they were just in “different places,” adding: “Joel is one of the best people I know. He really is a great human being and I feel like I’m a great human being. But sometimes two great human beings together isn’t enough to make it work.”

On top of Hoda’s relationship status, Kevin’s drew more attention to the potential pairing. Kevin and Christine Baumgartner finalized their divorce in Feb. 2024, making him newly available, but open to moving on. On CBS Mornings, he said: “That’s a crushing moment. It’s powerful. It hurt, but I go forward.”

ESPN Cancelling Longtime TV Show After 20-Plus Years

It’s a new era in the sports media world and with it, comes a lot of changes.

ESPN has gone through a ton of changes over the past couple of years. The network seems to be prioritizing its premier talent and personalities, with guys like Mike Greenberg, Stephen A. Smith and Pat McAfee seemingly making up the majority of the daily programming. With that being the case, some of the longrunning shows at the network are getting pushed to the side. In one show’s case, it’s become permanent.

The New York Post is reporting on Wednesday that one long-running ESPN daily show is being cancelled after 20-plus years.

The New York Post is reporting that “Around the Horn,” which has been on the air for 23 years, is getting cancelled in 2025.

The show will reportedly end in summer 2025, according to Ryan Glasspiegel of the New York Post.

    From the report:

ESPN plans to hit the mute button on “Around the Horn.” The show’s legendary run of more than two decades will conclude in the summer of 2025, sources told The Post. The Post previously reported that the show’s cancellation was under consideration by company brass.

The show was initially hosted by Max Kellerman, but Tony Reali took over in 2004 and has hosted it ever since. He’s one of the longest-tenured television show hosts in sports history.

The sports debate show has featured a ton of different sports writers and personalities over the years, including Woody Paige, Tim Cowlishaw, Mina Kimes, Pablo Torre, Bomani Jones, Frank Isola, Bob Ryan and others.

Snoop told Kelly Clarkson he made kids’ songs for his grandchildren to have a G-rated piece of him.

    snoop dogg and michael bublé

Snoop Dogg and Michael Bublé are both judges on “The Voice.”

It’s official: Snoop Dogg truly is on track to become the most surprisingly beloved celebrity by every single generation at once.

In addition to dozens of album releases, the 53-year-old West Coast hip hop star has become BFFs with Martha Stewart, narrated nature clips on “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” commentated on the Olympics, founded a youth football league for at-risk youth, put out a cookbook and is currently serving as a judge on “The Voice.” And according to fellow judge Michael Bublé, he’s also big among the kindergarten set.

In an interview with Seth Meyers, Bublé shared that when his 6-year-old daughter found out he was going to be on “The Voice,” she asked if he was going to work with Snoop Dogg. “Yeah, honey. How do you know Snoop Dogg?” he asked, obviously surprised that his 6-year-old would know the infamous gansta rapper.

She responded in the most 2024 way possible: “Alexa, play Snoop Dogg ‘Affirmations.’” As it turns out, her kindergarten teacher plays Snoop Dogg’s “Affirmations Song” every day to start the school day, repeating phrases like, “Today’s gonna be an amazing day” and “My family loves me so much.”

So Bublé’s daughter made a video for Snoop, which Bublé shared with him the first time they met.

“He was so cute. It really moved him,” Bublé shared. “He’s such a beautiful soul.”

    Watch Bublé tell the story:

“You’re telling me in Vancouver that those kindergarteners listen to Uncle Snoop every day?” Snoop said, according to Bublé, who lives near Vancouver, Canada. “You know, I made that for my grandkids, and it was so important to reach them in a positive way.”

Now he calls Bublé’s house as “Uncle Snoop” to say hi to the kids. What a wild time to be alive.

Snoop Dogg himself shared his own incredulity about where he is now on “The Kelly Clarkson Show.” He said that he feels like he and Michael Bublé are old friends, even though they just met recently. And he said Bublé’s daughter’s fangirling him over his affirmations song almost made him cry.

“I made those albums for my grandkids and for the kids around the world to have a piece of me that was rated G,” he said. “Michael Buble came to set and he was like, ‘Man, my daughter loves your music. And they listen to it every day.’ I’m like, ‘You lying.’ And we actually, we sung it together and it just touched me.It was so adorable that this music that I’m making is really reaching the kids for the right reasons.”

He said he never imagined this would have been in his future. Watch:

Snoop’s “Affirmations Song” includes lines that are meant to be repeated by kids, such as:

    My feelings matter.

I get better every single day.

    I care about others.

    I learn from my mistakes.

The song is for kids, but many adults say they listen to it themselves as a little self-worth pick-me-up. A video for the song on Snoop’s “Doggyland” channel for kids includes colorful animated characters, but a sneak peak of the song from Lil VanVan offers an adorable sample:

Snoop has truly become a fan favorite among people of all ages, which is not something anyone who remembers him in the 90s would ever have predicted. Just check out these comments:

“Who knew way back when, that this would be Snoop Dogg in 2024?”

“How did Snoop become one of the most wholesome figures in the world?”

“Snoop is peaking in his grandpa years and I love it.”

“Love how Snoop is a hard rapper and took a chance on the voice. Since becoming a grandfather, he softened so much. I love this for him.”

“It’s Snoop’s world, we just live in it.”

“Perfect example of how becoming a grandparent makes you a completely different person in all the best ways even a hard core OG like Mr Snoop Dogg. Just another reason to love and respect this man and his art.”

“I am 62 and I love Snoop. He has grown and changed like adults should. I love him because of who his is right now. His past is past. Movin’ on.”

While it’s risky to put any celebrity on too much of a pedestal, it’s quite clear that Snoop Dogg has grown and evolved since his early rapper days and people love him for it. He’s also genuinely seems to enjoy trying new things and meeting new people and his chill vibe allows him to fit in everywhere while being himself. No wonder practically everyone loves Snoop these days

Kelsea Ballerini Shares Shocking New Details Of ‘Nasty’ Divorce, Morgan Evans Responds

It appears things are getting heated between Ballerini and Evans.

Morgan Evans broke his silence after Kelsea Ballerini’s bombshell comments about their divorce in a recent podcast.

The 37-year-old Australian-born singer/songwriter took to social media on Tuesday (Feb. 21) to share a statement with his followers, addressing Ballerini’s recent remarks about their divorce.

“It’s really sad for me to see this person, who I spent so much of my life with, and loved with all my heart, saying things that aren’t reality and that leave out what really happened,” Evans wrote. ”She knows I’m not the type of guy to speak on these things publicly.”

He went on to say, “If this is what she needs to heal, I hope it helps. All I ask is that if you’re on my pages, please don’t be mean. Don’t be mean to Kelsea, don’t be mean to each other. Life’s too short.”

Ballerini’s Call Her Daddy Podcast Interview

Evans’ response comes after a teaser of Ballerini’s interview with Alexandra Cooper on the Call Her Daddy podcast, was shared on social media.

In the sneak peek clip, the “HEARTFIRST” singer, who comes from a divorced family, admitted she “didn’t want to have a wedding” and that things “got nasty” after their divorce.

“I swore I would never get married,” she said. “I think he loved me more at 23 and I love me more at 29.”

Ballerini went on to comment on Evans’ latest single, “Over For You,” as well as their divorce settlement.

“As he’s putting out a song about being blindsided, he’s taking half the house that he didn’t pay for,” Ballerini said, which she also references in her new song “Mountain With A View.”

She then questioned, “How was I married to this person for this long and I had no idea that that bit of character was tucked within that human being?”

    Is Kelsea Ballerini Single?

She also confirmed that she is no longer single before Cooper asked if she is in fact dating Outer Banks’ star Chase Stokes. It’s unclear what Ballerini’s answer was as the clip ended without airing her answer.

During a separate sneak peek of the podcast episode shared by PEOPLE, Ballerini, 29, made comments about the events that led to their breakup.

    YouTube video

    Bombshell Comments

According to Ballerini, their relationship “took work for a long time.” Her shocking comments also revealed that she and Evans split up multiple times before their divorce was made public.

“There were separations, there was years of couples therapy. There was like, many a night of sleeping on the couch,” she shared. “I don’t think it was the first night, but it was a night where I was like, this is not what I want.”

In her new song, “Blindsided,” Ballerini sings about a “big fight” she had with Evans before a “big show” in 2019. The lyrics include, “I slept on the couch and then the next night you put on your suit / I put on a smile and sang about how it’s okay to cry, dying inside.”

    YouTube video

It’s now known that she was referring to the 53rd Annual CMA Awards, where she performed “homecoming queen” and walked the red carpet with Evans. She further elaborated on that argument in the podcast interview.

“I slept on the couch the night before the CMAs and I remember I went to rehearsal at the arena and texting him and being like, ‘I’ll just see you at the carpet,’” Ballerini explained.

    “Disconnection”

She said there was “such a sense of disconnection” and confessed that they often didn’t make an effort to see each other. Because of this, she became “resentful” and “tired of showing up in that way all the time and not feeling like I was seen or matched.”

Ballerini’s episode of the Call Her Daddy podcast premieres exclusively on Wednesday, February 22, via Spotify.

The interview comes just days after Ballerini released a vulnerable six-track EP, titled Rolling Up The Welcome Mat, which she wrote after her highly-publicized divorce from Evans. Throughout the EP, Ballerini nonchalantly shared new details of their split within the lyrics.

    “Over For You”

In October of 2022, Evans shared a post-divorce single, “Over For You,” which finds the singer/songwriter addressing the demise of his relationship with Ballerini and confessing that he was blindsided by their breakup.

    YouTube video

    Rolling Up The Welcome Mat

On Rolling Up The Welcome Mat, Kelsea Ballerini seemingly responds to Evans’ tune that finds him questioning “how long has it been over for you?” In Ballerini’s song, “Mountain With A View,” she sings, “I realize you loved me much more at twenty-three / I think that this is when it’s over for me,” which seems to be an indirect response to Evans’ question.

    YouTube video

Kelsea Ballerini filed for divorce from Evans after nearly five years of marriage in August of 2022. ”This is now public record so I wanted you to hear from me directly that I am going through a divorce,” she wrote in a statement on social media.

At the time, Evans also shared the news of their divorce, writing “I am very sad to confirm that after almost five years of marriage, Kelsea and I are parting ways. I wish it were otherwise, but sadly it is not.”

According to court documents obtained by PEOPLE, Ballerini and Evans reached a divorce settlement in October of 2022, which unveiled details that the pair had “vacated” the home they shared in Nashville.

The couple’s divorce was finalized in mid-November of 2022.

Country songstress Kelsea Ballerini is feeling her heavy emotions as she navigates her ongoing divorce from estranged husband Morgan Evans.

“A complex time,” the “Peter Pan” musician, 28, captioned a Saturday, September 3, TikTok video. In the clip, Ballerini somberly sat in her bathtub while a demo of Katie Gregson-MacLeod’s “Complex” played in the background.

While Ballerini did not further elaborate on her connection to the social media sound, the lyrics hint at an emotional breakup. “I’m wearing his boxers / I’m being a good wife. We won’t be together / But maybe the next life,” the 19-year-old Scottish artist sang in her debut single. “I’m being a cool girl / I’m keeping it so tight. I carry him home while my friends have a good night. I need him like water, he thinks that I’m alright.”

She added in the track: “I’m not feeling human / I think he’s a good guy.”

The Tennessee native, for her part, sat naked in the bathtub while listening to the lyrics. Her eye makeup was visibly smudged, seemingly revealing that Ballerini had been crying.

The country singer can relate to Gregson-MacLeod’s emotional lyrics about a difficult breakup as she and Evans, 37, announced earlier this year that they had separated after nearly five years of marriage.

“Friends, I’ve always tried my best to share my life with you in a real and vulnerable way, while also protecting layers of my personal life as they unfold,” the “Hole in the Bottle” songstress wrote via her Instagram Story on Monday, August 29. “This is now public record so I wanted you to hear from me directly that I am going through a divorce.”

Ballerini continued at the time: “This deeply difficult decision is the result of a journey of love, growth, and effort that ultimately has come to an end. It’s hard to find the words here … but I feel extremely grateful for the years of marriage to Morgan and hopeful for the next seasons. With very active schedules coming up, please be mindful that we are both fragile, actively healing, and showing up the best we can.”

Us Weekly confirmed that Ballerini had filed for divorce from the Australia native the previous Friday and cited “irreconcilable differences” as the cause for their split.

Evans, for his part, broke his silence several hours later, seemingly hinting it was not a mutual decision.

Ballerini and Evans — who wed in December 2017 — had been struggling to maintain their relationship for several years before the August divorce filing.

“They’ve been working on their marriage for many years and have even tried therapy,” a source exclusively told Us last month, noting that the pair had “privately separated” at one point before reconciling. “They ultimately decided that they had no choice but to officially separate.”

Following their split, both Ballerini and Evans have been focused on their careers and their forthcoming fall concert tours. [The “Heartfirst” singer is also gearing up to release her next album, Subject to Change, later this month. Her first single — titled “What I Have” — dropped on Friday, September 2.

“This song was written somewhere in between reflection and eagerness,” Ballerini tweeted on Friday. “Although ever changing, I’m happy with what I have.”

In “What I Have,” she croons about being “happy with what I have” in life, including a “dream” career, a Jeep vehicle and a faithful pup.

Kelsea Ballerini Pauses Concert to Call Out Audience Over Comments About Ex Morgan Evans

Country music singer Kelsea Ballerini, who was married to Morgan Evans from 2017 to 2022, briefly stopped her Hollywood, Fla., concert on Feb. 23 to tell the crowd to not add hateful words to her ex.

Kelsea Ballerini Calls Out Audience For Comments About Ex Morgan Evans

Kelsea Ballerini is ready to do-si-do beyond her past relationships.

The “Cowboys Cry Too” singer briefly stopped her Hollywood, Fla., concert Feb. 23 to address the crowd, who had ad-libbed their own lyrics to shade her ex-husband Morgan Evans.

During the performance of her song “Penthouse,” which is seemingly about her relationship with Morgan—whom she divorced in 2022—Kelsea sang, “It hurts putting s–t in a box / And now we don’t talk / And it stings rolling up the welcome mat / Knowing you got half.”

But after the pause in the song—during which one attendee said online that others took the opportunity shout profanities at Morgan—Kelsea called out the unnecessary language.

“Guys, we have to stop saying that,” she said in a video post to TikTok Feb. 24. “Seriously, we’re three years past it, everything’s fine now. I sing the song for you now, it’s not about me anymore, please.”

And while it wasn’t clear exactly what the fans sang along, one user noted, “For everyone who doesn’t know—people say ‘F You Morgan’ during the pause. She has asked multiple times for people to stop. She is healed and wants to move on.”

After the light scolding of the crowd, Kelsea invited them to join her for the rest of the song. As she added, “Alright, for everyone that’s moving forward with their life, will you sing this with me?”

While Kelsea was adamant about sticking to lyrics of “Penthouse,” it’s not the first time she has addressed the breakup tune. In fact, the 31-year-old—who debuted her romance with Chase Stokes in 2023—has updated some of the original words since its February 2023 release.

During a concert that August, Kelsea made a slight change to the lyrics, singing “I kissed someone new last night / But now I don’t care where you’re sleeping, baby,” instead of “But now I don’t know where you’re sleeping, baby,” indicating that she had moved on from the heartbreak. She also re-released the song that same year, adding the words “(Healed Version)” to its name.

Since that healing moment, Kelsea—who had been married to Morgan for five years before their 2022 split—has been open about the joy she finds in her relationship with Stokes.

“I’m happy,” she told E! News in October of their relationship, “and everything is as it should.”

And though Kelsea is focused on “the right now,” she isn’t opposed to one day tying the knot with the Outer Banks star.

“I would never say never to anything,” she added. “Anything that I’ve said a hard no to in my life, I have come back and challenged myself on.”

The Voice Coaches were stoked to be covering Elton John

“I know you all look forward to this every season: What are the Coaches gonna sing together? And we’ve chosen a classic Elton John song, ‘Tiny Dancer’” Legend said, adding, “We all love Elton; we’re all big fans of Elton. I’ve performed in tributes for Elton, I’ve performed with Elton over the years, and I’m excited that we’re all gonna be singing this amazing, beautiful song. It’s gonna be great.”

Newcomer Ballerini was stoked, too. “I’m a huge Elton John fan. You know, this is my first Coach performance, so I was very eager to figure out what they picked for us. And it’s a classic,” she said, continuing, “The fact that we all get to just sit around a piano and stare lovingly into each other’s eyes and admire and respect each other? C’mon, it’s bucket list, I’m excited, I’m not gonna lie.”

In the performance, the four gathered around a piano and did, indeed, stare lovingly into one another’s eyes, while the audience around them created a cozy mood with handheld lights.

What to know about “Tiny Dancer” by Elton John

The track opened John’s 1971 album Madman Across the Water and was released as a single the following year. While always popular, the song wasn’t a runaway hit until it was used in a memorable scene in the 2000 movie Almost Famous; now, it’s considered the most popular of John’s songs.

This isn’t the first time a Coach from The Voice has performed “Tiny Dancer,” either. Miley Cyrus, a Coach on Seasons 11 and 13, duetted the song with John himself at the 60th Grammy Awards in 2018. It’s just that much of a classic.
