Wheel of Fortune fans furiously defend Vanna White amid ongoing contract negotiations – and claim Ryan Seacrest is going to ‘TANK’ the show after taking over from Pat Sajak

The show’s official Instagram account uploaded a promotional snap this week
It featured Pat Sajak, 76, beaming alongside 66-year-old co-host Vanna White
But it sparked fierce backlash among viewers over White’s contract negotiations

Wheel of Fortune fans have staunchly defended Vanna White over her ongoing contract negotiations ahead of the new series – and claimed Ryan Seacrest will ‘tank’ the show.

The program’s official Instagram account sparked furious backlash after uploading a snap earlier this week to promote the latest season premiering on September 11 – which will be Pat Sajak’s last.

It featured the 76-year-old standing side-by-side with beaming co-host White, 66, and was shared alongside a playful caption that read: ’41 never looked so good.’

But, rather than stirring up enthusiasm for the upcoming shows, the post was instead flooded with comments about White’s ongoing contract negotiations following the news that Seacrest, 48, would be taking over from Sajak in 2024.

New era: White is reportedly asking for just half of Sajak’s $15 million salary ahead of Seacrest replacing him in 2024

Wheel of Fortune fans rushed to the comments to share their thoughts on the situation – and did not hold back.

One wrote: ‘Probably the last season since Ryan Seacrest will tank it and you won’t give Vanna a raise.’

Another asked: ‘Does Vanna get a pay raise this season?’

And a third said: ‘Great job you two!!! She needs a raise already!!! What are you waiting for??? Do it!!!’

The outpouring of support for White comes just weeks after DailyMail.com exclusively revealed that she felt Wheel Of Fortune bosses considered her to be ‘replaceable.’

The TV personality believes there is also a ‘lack of respect for her’ after the show hired Seacrest as Sajak’s successor – less than two weeks after the longtime host publicly announced he was stepping down – without offering her a chance to take on the role.

An insider said: ‘She was disappointed that they didn’t give her more of a chance to take over Pat’s job, or that she wasn’t able to give her two cents on the replacement.

‘She didn’t assume they would be making the announcement of his replacement so soon.’

The source was quick to emphasize White had ‘nothing but respect for Ryan and will be happy to work with him, but it just shows a lack of respect in her eyes that they have for her.’

‘She wants to be with the show for as long as she wants to be on the show, on her terms. She believes she deserves it,’ the source added.

‘It is a major uphill battle, especially when money is involved and she sees the writing on the wall that they think she is replaceable.

‘There will be lots of negotiations, but if she gets replaced and is not given a new contract, she will be beyond heartbroken.

‘This has been her life, it would be just as powerful as a death if she doesn’t continue with the show.’

Sajak announced in July that he would be retiring in 2024.

‘Well, the time has come. I’ve decided that our 41st season, which begins in September, will be my last,’ he wrote on Twitter at the time.

‘It’s been a wonderful ride, and I’ll have more to say in the coming months. Many thanks to you all. (If nothing else, it’ll keep the clickbait sites busy!)’

It was followed shortly after by a personal announcement from Seacrest to reveal he would be helming the show after Season 41 wraps up in June next year.

‘I’m truly humbled to be stepping into the footsteps of the legendary Pat Sajak,’ he said in a statement on social media.

‘I can say, along with the rest of America, that it’s been a privilege and pure joy to watch Pat and Vanna on our television screens for an unprecedented 40 years, making us smile every night and feel right at home with them.’

Seacrest went on to write a heartfelt message to the longtime frontman of the show.

‘Pat, I love the way you’ve always celebrated the contestants and made viewers at home feel at ease. I look forward to learning everything I can from you during this transition,’ he said.

Seacrest added: ‘I can’t wait to continue the tradition of spinning the wheel and working alongside the great Vanna White.’

It is thought that White’s contract negotiations are still ongoing.

Seacrest will reportedly continue to host American Idol and his KIIS-FM radio show, On Air With Ryan Seacrest.

Ryan Seacrest RETURNS to ‘Live’ after a brief stint Wheel of Fortune

Ryan Seacrest Admits Seeing Rebranded ‘Live With Kelly and Mark’ Is ‘Strange’ (Exclusive)

The former host returned to his old stomping grounds as a guest just one month after exiting the program.

Ryan Seacrest had some feelings about being back on the Live set.

The former Live With Kelly and Ryan Host returned as a guest on the recently rebranded program on Thursday, just one month after exiting the series. Since his departure, host Kelly Ripa has been joined at the desk by her real-life husband, Mark Consuelos, with the show now appropriately called Live With Kelly and Mark.

“You know, guests never told me how great it is to be a guest,” Seacrest joked in an interview with ET later that day during a visit to Children’s Hospital of Orange County, where he was catching up with patients and families in honor of the 10th anniversary of his Ryan Seacrest Foundation Studios location there.

“It was so much fun to be back,” he told ET’s Matt Cohen of his Live appearance. “Mark and Kelly are phenomenal, as you know. We’re very, very close.”

Ryan Seacrest Says It Felt 'Strange' to Return to 'Live' as a Guest After Co-Host Exit (Exclusive)

Still, Seacrest admitted that it’s been “weird” to keep up with the series as an at-home viewer.

“When the commercial comes on TV, it’s so strange to me,” he shared. “It’s also weird when I say I’m going on Live With Kelly and Mark and drinking from my Live With Kelly and Mark mug. … But the coffee tastes better from it!”

His coffee also tastes better, apparently, now that he’s able to enjoy it at a later hour. During his guest appearance on Thursday’s episode, Seacrest joked about having “all kinds of time” since dropping his early morning job.

“There’s this fascinating thing I’ve been experiencing called ‘time,’” he quipped to Ripa and Consuelos. “I don’t know if you guys know about it. The alarm chimes in the morning, it’s a soft nudge.”

He described his morning routine, saying that his alarm goes off around “11 a.m. or 12 p.m., something like that” before he enjoys his morning coffee. “I walk through the forest,” he continued, “and I look for the beans of coffee. I take them, I harvest them, I take them back, I roast them, I milk some almonds and I make a latte.”

Ryan Seacrest Returns to Live with Kelly and Ryan After Taking Day Off

Elsewhere in the broadcast, he even got down on all fours and crawled around the studio during a round of The Truth Game. While prompting Ripa and Consuelos to guess whether he’s “started an animal movement class” or if he’s “been studying dendrology, the study of trees” in his newfound abundance of free time, Seacrest took to the floor and walked on his hands and knees before turning around to hop like a frog.

(The answer, as it turned out, was that he’s been studying trees.)

The 48-year-old media mogul is still managing to keep plenty busy with his other day jobs, including hosting American Idol, with a star-studded three-hour season finale set to air live coast-to-coast on Sunday at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.

But his most rewarding job is with his foundation.

“This is a place where tough stuff can happen,” he said of the numerous children’s hospitals where he’s built broadcasting studios. “You know, there are a lot of different things happening with patients all the time. Some are here for a little while, some are here for a long time, some keep coming back, and this room is where none of that matters. This room is where they can really forget about what’s happening.”

In a few month’s time, there will be a total of 14 Ryan Seacrest Foundation Studios in children’s hospitals across the country. Seacrest says he hopes to create a network between them all so that patients can broadcast to each other in different parts of the U.S.

“This is a place where the patients come and they smile, they laugh, they entertain each other,” he shared. “They meet celebrities, they get to program content, they get to broadcast it to the other patients that can’t come down. They play games, they win prizes. It’s the heartbeat of the hospital. This is a destination, it’s a place they want to hang out, and that was the goal.”

Things are not looking good for Kelly Ripa and Ryan Seacrest at Live. According to Life & Style, the duo’s daytime talk show has been experiencing sinking ratings in the last few months — and Kelly totally blames Ryan for not resonating with her loyal audience.

“The show is a wreck at the moment… Ryan is just not connecting with daytime viewers.

He appeals to a much younger, music-oriented audience. Kelly blames the show. She feels [execs] made a huge miscalculation bringing him on to Live,” an insider recently revealed.

Kelly Ripa Selects Ryan Seacrest as New 'Live' Co-Host

Since Ryan, 42, officially joined Live as Kelly’s new co-host on May 1, 2017, the show’s ratings have reportedly dipped 23 percent compared to the same time period last year.

Viewership again dropped 12 percent one week after the excitement of Ryan’s addition to the show faded.

“For the show to not be a huge hit is a blow to Ryan’s ego. It felt very safe adding Ryan to Live. No one at the network thought that adding him was a huge risk,” sources told Life & Style. Though their program is experiencing a loss of fans, Kelly, 46, and Ryan still seem to be getting along on-camera. “Kelly and Ryan like and have a high regard for each other. They’re not angry with one another. It’s just been a real TV marriage mismatch,” an insider said.

Unfortunately, the news that Ryan is joining the upcoming American Idol reboot has caused some drama behind-the-scenes at Live as Kelly is reportedly not thrilled that her co-host is taking on yet another gig. “She didn’t know about the_ American Idol_ revival,” a source close to Kelly said. “When she found out she was truly rattled.”

There aren’t many shows that can even dream of reaching 10,000 episodes, but The Price Is Right celebrates that illustrious milestone with February 26’s daytime episode. To honor this rare feat, the show is breaking out some super-sized prizes.

“Everything’s being played for $10,000,” Drew Carey explains to TV Insider. “That number 10,000 is going to be factored in a lot of games… The money’s huge. It’s just a bananas, really expensive show.”

The games that are being played have since been revealed and include favorites like Grande Game, Any Number, and Lucky Seven — with all three honoring the occasion. According to Carey, those games were chosen for a specific reason: They’re “Winnable, winnable, winnable,” he says. “Nothing too hard, nothing too easy.” (This is why the list doesn’t include Stack the Deck, which is notoriously difficult to win, or Cliff Hangers, which is among the easiest.)

The Price is Right': Drew Carey Jokes About Marrying Contestant (VIDEO)

Carey took over as host of the long-lived gameshow after Bob Barker‘s retirement, with his first episode airing on October 15, 2007.

Now, with almost two decades under his belt, he feels privileged to help the show make it to this landmark. “It means everything,” he says of emceeing the 10,000th episode. “It’s such an honor to be on the show in the first place. I hate to use words like ‘institution’ for a TV show, but it really is. I just can’t imagine it going anywhere, even though I know realistically, things change, and not everything lasts.”

He also plans to see it through for the next 10,000 episodes. “I really appreciate the trust that CBS and Freemantle and then the fans put in me.

For so many people, this show is like a touchstone for them. They watched it with their relatives, or their grandma, or they learned English — there’s always something that connected The Price Is Right to so many people,” he says. “As long as I’m healthy and I can make it out there and physically do the job, I’ll keep doing it.”

“It’s so much fun,” Carey adds. “I get plenty of time off to travel and enjoy my life, and even during the week, I get four-day weekends, usually every month, I get like a week or 10 days off in a row. It’s like a better than any job… I’d be an idiot [to quit].”

While hosting the longest-running game show is no easy feat, Carey has made it look easy for nearly two decades now. However, age seems to be catching up with the host, who went blank during an episode, and the contestant’s reaction to that made the moment viral.

In the episode from 2024, a contestant named Barbara a.k.a “Barbie,” made her way to the stage after winning the “Contestant’s Row” round. To add to her delight, announcer George Gray revealed that she would be playing the popular “Pocket Change” game with a brand new electric car on the line. In the game, contestants play for a car with a price tag of 25 cents, which they have to earn. At the beginning, the board shows the first digit of the actual retail price of the car and the following five digits are missing. The player has to guess the remaining digits.
Screenshot showing the set up for the game Screenshot showing the set up for the game (Image source: YouTube/
    Triniswagg92 Beastmode)
Contestants need to choose a number from the given set, one by one to land on the correct price. With each correct guess, the players pick a card from the board which may have a dollar amount from anywhere between 0 to $2. On the other hand with each incorrect guess, the price of the car goes up by 25 cents, and the players need to guess again. Thus, the goal is to correctly guess the order of the digits, without raising the price of the car too much and earn enough money to afford it in the end.

For Barbie’s game, the prize was a brand-new Chevrolet electric car. She was given the first digit of the price as 2 and 9,0,8,6,5 to choose from for the following spaces. For her first guess, she picked “8” which was bang on the target.

She did so well that even Carey was startled. The host even forgot that he was supposed to ask Barbie to get a card from the board before the next guess. It was Barbie who reminded him that she needed to get a card before moving on to the next number. The host obliged and the player rolled her eyes as she walked over to get the card. “You weren’t gonna let me have a card, were you?” Barbie said as she returned.

The host apologized and admitted that he “almost forgot” the proceedings. “You were doing so well that I……um blanked!” Recovering from the minor hiccup, the two went on to play the game smoothly. Barbie guessed a few more digits right before getting the first one wrong. In the end, she got another guess wrong and raised the price of the car to 75 cents.

However, she had won four cards as well to help her afford it. While the player’s first card added only 5 cents to her balance of 25 cents, her second card added a whopping 50 cents winning her the brand-new EV.

Drew Carey has been the witness of a myriad of contestant celebrations as the host of The Price Is Right, but one contestant actually made him start dancing along with them.

The 66-year-old host was performing his duties on the Tuesday, February 18 episode of the game show like any other when contestant Roslin Real stepped up to the podium. Real, who was constantly dancing as she was participating, played the Range Game, where she correctly guessed the range for a trip to Vermont, which cost $9,439. The contestant continued to dance and celebrated her correct answer with a flick of her hair.

Carey seemingly mocked the enthusiastic contestant and playfully mocked her dance moves before he continued to host the episode.

Drew Carey Real, who was quite lucky during her time on the show, continued to dance throughout her participation in the games, where she secured a spot in the Showcase Showdown. The contestant danced as she spun the wheel, which eventually landed on “100,” meaning she would take home an additional $25,000. Real’s winnings for the night came to a total of $26,000 before she lost to another contestant later in the episode.

Fans of the game show took to the comment section of a post about the contestant to share their reactions to the dancing.

“Lucky Nebraska lady 👏👏👏 enjoy your trip to Vermont,” wrote one user.

“She was super lucky! That was a very low stop,” a second user noted about the contestant’s wheel spin.

A third user seemingly commented on Real’s dancing and wrote, “She is so cute!”

After Her ‘Today’ Exit, Hoda Kotb Teases Exciting New Team-Up

Hoda Kotb hosting 'The Today Show'

Hoda Kotb made headlines with her emotional departure from the Today Show, with the show becoming all about Hoda as her fellow hosts came together to say goodbye to the anchor, but what is she doing with her retirement? Hoda took to Instagram, posting a gallery with Joanna Gaines, hinting at a possible partnership. Kotb and Gaines have a lot in common and will be a great duo in whatever project they have planned.

Hoda Kotb has graced television screens for decades. Starting her career on NBC’s Dateline, Kotb continued on becoming an anchor on the Today Show. Fans fell in love with Hoda for her kindness and joy as well as her antics alongside Kathie Lee Gifford and later Jenna Bush Hager. Now, after a fruitful career on NBC, Kotb has stepped away and decided to go in a new direction. Teasing a partnership with Gaines, Kotb has sparked discussion and curiosity over where their partnership is heading.

Kotb Teased a Partnership With Gaines

In the Instagram photos that Kotb posted, Gaines is side by side with Hoda as a cameraman is following them around. Gaines, who has become the it-girl of renovation these days, has always had a good relationship with Kotb, as seen in interviews. Joanna Gaines started her home renovation empire beside her husband, Chip Gaines. Together, the two amassed a fanbase that would follow them on HGTV to Magnolia. Kotb interviewed Gaines, and the pair have maintained a friendship over the years. Although a guest spot as one of Joanna Gaines’ clients will surely make for a delightful episode, renovation and decoration seem right up Hoda Kotb’s alley.

Although Kotb and Gaines went into two different areas on television, they have a lot in common. Both Kotb and Gaines are influential and love their careers, making themselves household names. Joanna Gaines is the most popular name in home renovation today, even founding her own network, Magnolia, while Kotb has won Daytime Emmys and is a bestselling writer. Hoda and Joanna will make a great team in whatever they do; other interviews and podcasts prove this.

They always show respect for each other, and Hoda’s bright, vivacious personality blends well with Joanna’s optimistic and calm demeanor. Both women get along well and have similar values as two powerhouse women who love their families. Joanna and Hoda both found loyal fanbases with their infectious smiles and optimism.

    What Is Next for Hoda?

Hoda Kotb was on the Today show for a very long time, and her departure left fans wondering what her plans were. Kotb went on “The Kelly Clarkson Show” to talk about her next project now that she is no longer anchoring the Today show. Hoda plans to start a “wellness app and company that will involve retreats and a podcast,” and what is more wholesome and transformative than home renovation? Renovation is not the only “wellness” project that Gaines and Kotb could be working on. Magnolia Table is a cooking show with which Gaines started sharing her recipes. Kotb is also a cook, sharing many recipes on the Today show. A team-up with Gaines for home renovation or cooking would fit into Hoda Kotb’s plans for the next adventures.

Hoda Kotb exiting the Today Show has brought up discussions about who would replace her as well. With Kotb being such a large presence, it is clear that no matter what happens, she made her mark on NBC just like Joanna Gaines has on HGTV. With Kotb finding her footing away from NBC and Today there is surely more to come. With Hoda gone from Today, her fans are missing her, so this partnership with Joanna will be just what they need.

Hopefully, this team-up with Joanna Gaines will be the first step to seeing more of Hoda on HGTV or Magnolia. With Hoda Kotb having more free time on her hands, partnerships with Gaines and many others could be on the horizon. Episodes of the Today show are available to watch on Peacock.

Alice’s adopted daughter Courtney Roker Laga shared the tragic news of her mother’s death in a heartfelt post on Instagram. In the post, she shared an adorable throwback vintage baby photo with Alice as she penned: “She was my mother, my heart, and the most loving grandmother to Sky. I was with her for her last breath, and I will carry her love with me always.”

On Tuesday, Feb. 11, Roker was noticeably absent from the Today Show in the wake of the heartbreaking news. During the morning segment NBC meteorologist Dylan Dreyer stepped in for him. Alice’s cause of death remains unclear.

Under Courtney’s post she was met with an outpour of love from her followers. One supporter commented: “May she roar on angel’s wings! My deepest condolences to you and your family. Take a break and let your heart grieve the loss of your beautiful mother.” Another added: “I’m so very sorry for your loss, it truly is a privilege to be there for your loved one’s last moment.” And a third replied: “Oh no! Deepest condolences to your family. May her memory continue to be a blessing to you all.”

During her life, Roker and Bell shared a decade-long marriage from 1984 to 1994 during which they welcomed their adopted daughter Courtney in 1987. The former couple later split when Courtney turned 5 years old and finalized their divorce in 1994. At the time, Al worked for NBC where he met his current wife Deborah Roberts, who he married in 1995.

While Roker has remained largely private about his relationship with Bell, he has been outspoken for his love for their shared daughter. On the Today Show in 2021, the anchorman reflected on fatherhood as he said: “I will tell you both that it’s the greatest thing that will ever happen to you, and that you will know that your heart beats outside your body to somebody else’s. And no matter what happens, these are always your children.”

While there were plenty more comments like that, there were others asking Jenna to add more stops. “Hope you will extend your tour to the west,” someone said. “NYC please,” another wrote.

While we’re not sure if Jenna and Barbara will be making any other stops, everyone will at least be able to pick up a copy of I Loved You First on March 25 when it’s released (or, you can pre-order it now).

I Loved You First is “a celebration of parental love,” according to the Amazon description. Jenna herself described the story as “the wonder of being a parent and seeing the world through your children’s’ eyes.
