[CIVIL WAR] ‘American Idol’ fans are declaring their PREFERENCE for Katy and claiming Carrie DESTROYED the show

‘American Idol’ Fans Want Katy, Not Carrie

‘American Idol’ Fans Want Katy, Not Carrie

Most people agree that American Idol reached peak popularity when it first premiered in the early 2000s. Watching Kelly Clarkson win the first season was an epic moment in pop culture history.

Over the years, American Idol’s popularity has successfully maintained its relevance. One of the biggest reasons why? The judges who are chosen for the show, of course. Katy Perry was a beloved American Idol judge for seven seasons.

When she announced her exit in 2024, her fans were bummed to say the least. Her replacement is Carrie Underwood… and that is not making fans very happy either. Based on the reaction we’re seeing on social media, it doesn’t look like American Idol is headed in the best direction.

Is Carrie Underwood Going to Ruin American Idol?

According to The Express, Carrie’s first time filming American Idol was awkward. Apparently, she appeared “nervous” in front of the live studio audience. An insider described the situation, saying, “She barely acknowledged the audience who kept chanting her name. The fans kept yelling ‘We love Carrie’ but she wouldn’t even turn around and wave most of the time – though she did a few times.”

They added, “Also, Carrie rarely danced during the contestants’ performances, besides nodding along and shuffling to some rock songs.”

If you’ve seen older episodes of American Idol, then you know how fun, playful, and energetic Katy was when contestants were performing. If Carrie intends to bring this recent lackluster vibe to American Idol, who’s to blame if fans are disappointed with the results.

A Reddit thread was launched to discuss Carrie’s newfound presence on American Idol, and some of the comments are pretty negative.

One person wrote, “Idol should just find a new judge. I bet their ratings will sink because of her.”

Another viewer chimed in with, “Well, she kind of deserves the disdain.”

Arguments For and Against Carrie Underwood Staying on American Idol

The biggest argument for why Carrie should stay on as an American Idol judge is that she won her own season of American Idol back in the day. She dominated Season 4 (2005) when she was only 21 years old.

After winning the show, she turned tons of people on to country music with hits like “Before He Cheats,” “Jesus Take the Wheel,” and “Cowboy Casanova.” She’s an award-winning artist who’s taken home the Country Music Association Award for New Artist of the Year, the Grammy Award for Best Female Country Vocal Performance, among others. Her history and accolades speak volumes.

But there are sooo many people who weren’t happy with Carrie’s performance at President Trump’s inauguration. She sang “America the Beautiful” for Trump, and she was judged harshly for it.

Some fans heavily critiqued her voice while others were outraged by her political affiliation. She never outright admitted she’s a Trump supporter, but the fact that she even agreed to perform at Trump’s inauguration sealed the deal

One joke that’s gone viral on social media is that some fans hope her husband will cheat on her someday, based on the lyrics of “Before He Cheats.” Brutal! Needless to say, her performance at the inauguration rubbed a lot of people the wrong way – mainly liberal voters.

As of now, there are no updates about Carrie getting axed or replaced as a judge on American Idol. Can we expect to see her stick around throughout Season 23?

[GOOD NEWS] Reba McEntire on her RETURN to sitcoms and working with her boyfriend Rex Linn again

Reba McEntire on her return to sitcoms and working with her boyfriend on Happy’s Place

The country legend shares the advice she gave bf Rex Linn and what she loves about being back in a multi-cam.

When Reba McEntire first took the plunge into the uncertain waters of primetime sitcoms, she had no idea what she was doing.

But with six seasons, which included the transition from The WB to The CW, and an unforgettable theme song, Reba became a hit and continued to air in syndication years after it ended its run in 2007.

Now, McEntire — in between her music career, her gig on The Voice, and rescuing small towns — has returned to the sitcom with NBC’s Happy’s Place, premiering Oct. 18.  And, yes, Reba will be singing its theme song.

No longer a single mom who works two jobs, who loves her kids, and never stops, McEntire plays Bobbie, the fiery owner of the titular bar, left to her by her dearly departed father, Happy. However, Happy was perhaps a bit too overjoyed in life and Bobbie finds out she has a half-sister, Isabella (Belissa Escobedo), who was left half the bar in Happy’s will.

“Bobbie’s been running the tavern for the last 10 years,” McEntire tells Entertainment Weekly. “She was married, but her husband passed away. She has one daughter that is deployed in the Army, so she’s pretty much by herself and her life is spent in the tavern.”

The “very down-to-earth, no nonsense” Bobbie is surrounded by a motley crew of employees: Pablo Castelblanco as the finicky accountant Steve; Tokala Black Elk as the far-too-affable waiter Takoda; McEntire’s real-life boyfriend Rex Linn as short-tempered short order cook Emmett; and a familiar face from Reba, Melissa Peterman as the clingy bartender Gabby.

    HAPPY'S PLACE -- "Tapped Out" Episode 102

Peterman and McEntire are friends off-camera, as well, so getting back into a comedic groove with her was “just like riding a bicycle.”

“We get to play off each other, which is wonderful,” McEntire says of Peterman. “We have so much fun together and it’s just putting Bobbie in certain circumstances that she has to find a way out of.”

For newbie Linn, however, McEntire used what she had learned from her early TV days to give her beau a bit of advice.

“Oh my gosh, I learned everything from [Reba], how to rehearse, how to flow with things,” McEntire says. “This is Rex’s first sitcom and I kind of told him that. I said, ‘Don’t memorize everything off the first draft because they’ll change it and they do every day just to improve it. What doesn’t get a big laugh, they change it. And so you just learn to get familiar with the blocking and everything, but don’t nail everything down on the dialogue until the third, fourth day.’”

While McEntire and the cast love show night and filming in front of a live studio audience, the “Fancy” singer has a special place in her heart for rehearsals.

“What I love is the camaraderie between all of the actors and the crew, the writers, everybody. We just have fun creating what we’re going to be filming on show night,” she says. “And the writers are great. Kevin Abbott wrote for me on Reba, [her second sitcom] Malibu Country, and he is a genius. He knows my voice and I just totally love being Bobbie.”

    Happy’s Place premieres Friday, Oct. 18, at 8 p.m. ET/PT, on NBC.

Miranda Lambert was one of three headliners at the festival, alongside Morgan Wallen and Eric Church, but we must say, her performance takes the cake! Lambert sang fan favorites including “Tin Man” and performed her new song “Wrangler” live for the first time, before Reba joined in.

Lambert and McEntire finished off Saturday night at Stagecoach with an trio of encore duets of Lambert’s “Mama’s Broken Heart” and “Gunpowder and Lead” and McEntire’s “Fancy.”

“I was nervous to ask her,” Lambert admitted in an interview with Country Living. “I mean, obviously, because she’s one of my heroes, but she is a friend, and Reba is a number one class act. She does everything so professionally and she’s super fun to be around, but you know it’s a big favor to ask to come all the way to California to sing a couple of songs. So, I asked her and she was like ‘heck yeah, I’ll do it.’”

Both artists took the Instagram to commemorate the momentous occasion. “Reba at stagecoach y’all. 🤯🤩 Thank you to my hero and friend for coming out here as my special guest. I’ll never forget it. She brought all the fire,” Lambert captioned her post.

The comments say it all, Reba and Miranda received nothing but rave reviews from fans. “Amazing. I still haven’t recovered. Y’all killed it!!! 🔥,” “An iconic duo!! A Miranda Lambert and Reba McEntire joint performance should be an annual event, at the bare minimum, and it seems Lambert is on board! “We really haven’t done a lot together, but after that, I feel like this is the beginning of another round of like, anytime I can sing with Reba, sign me up, because I just adore her,” Lambert told Country Living.

We’ll be obsessing over these performance clips until further notice.

“Does He Love You” is included on the Revisited portion of the box set, which was produced by award-winning producer Dave Cobb.

The buzzed-about collaboration marks the first-ever duet for McEntire, 66, and Parton, 75.

“I’m shell shocked. How have we not done one?” Reba shared in a new Billboard interview. “Every time I’d hear Dolly doing a duet with somebody else, I would get a little sad or jealous, like, ‘I want to do a duet with Dolly.’”

Still, she added, “Everything happens for a reason and timing is everything. So it worked out perfectly.”

Parton previously opened up about the collaboration, calling it the “perfect pairing.”

McEntire and Parton’s version of the iconic duet comes nearly three decades after the original release, which featured Linda Davis, however, this time, McEntire says they went about it differently.

“The way that Dolly and I approached it, it’s like confrontation on Valium. It’s kind of like, ‘I know you. You know me. We’re adults.’ Whereas when I did it with Linda, that was mid-‘90s, and it was like cat fight city. Now it’s like, ‘I don’t like him. Do you like him? You can have him.’ So it was totally different. It was confrontation, but not hatred,” the Oklahoma native explained.

The Grand Ole Opry members brought the song to life with a brand-new music video, featuring McEntire and Parton in a smoky, candlelit bar.

The video, which premiered on Friday, October 8 via Facebook, and pays homage to the original music video.

The Dano Cerny-directed clip, filmed in Nashville, opens with McEntire entering the bar before she sits at a table with a glass of whiskey. Parton soon after appears on a barstool with a glass of wine, she then joins McEntire at the table as they sang the powerful tune to each other while a house band plays.

The powerhouse vocalists then take to the stage to demand your attention with an impressive live performance of the duet. Concluding with some hilarious commentary, McEntire tells Parton, “you can just have that ol’ boy, I don’t want ’em” before Parton replies, “I don’t want him either. Let’s find us a new man.”

“I like the way you’re thinkin’” McEntire told Parton with a laugh.

Revived Remixed Revisited also features fan-favorite tracks such as “Little Rock,” “I’m A Survivor,” “Fancy” and “Is There Life Out There.”

  • [SURPRISE] Adam Levine admits one thing happened that he didn’t see coming when he returned to The Voice for season 27

[SURPRISE] Adam Levine admits one thing happened that he didn’t see coming when he returned to The Voice for season 27

Adam Levine reveals the biggest surprise he got when he returned to The Voice for season 27

The day many fans of The Voice have been waiting for is finally upon us! Adam Levine is set to make his return to the Big Red Chairs when Season 27 premieres on the 2025 TV schedule February 3.

It will be the first time the Maroon 5 singer coaches a team of singers since Season 16, when he left the show after being involved in some of The Voice’s wildest (and even controversial) moments. Levine has talked a lot about his impending comeback, and he admitted one thing happened that he didn’t see coming.

Why Is Adam Levine Returning To 'The Voice?' The Reason He Left And Came Back

It was 2019 the last time Adam Levine took a spin on The Voice chairs. Blake Shelton and Kelly Clarkson have left the show, likely permanently, and with John Legend being the only familiar face on the panel (the EGOT winner was making his debut in Levine’s final season), one can’t help but wonder why the Maroon 5 singer chose to return now. Levine told:

I just felt like it was time. I had some time to reflect and do my thing and be with my family. I was ready to do it, then the stars aligned and here I am.

With The Voice filming two seasons a year, there’s no question the NBC singing competition took up quite a bit of space in the coaches’ calendars (especially in earlier seasons, which included more live episodes). That was one reason Blake Shelton ultimately walked away from the show.

Adam Levine Talks 'The Voice' Return Without Blake Shelton (Exclusive)

But in addition to getting some much-needed time away, it sounds like Adam Levine might also be referencing his 2022 cheating scandal when talking about taking time with his family to reflect.

Whatever number of reasons he had or stars that needed to align, the rocker made one thing clear: He didn’t choose to come back because he missed the show. That’s why he was so surprised by the wave of emotions that hit him when he returned to the set. He said:

It’s funny, I actually didn’t miss it while I was gone. But I became more nostalgic about it once I came back.

Despite Adam Levine officially being gone for six years, he did return a couple of times in other capacities. Maroon 5 performed during the Season 20 finale in 2021 (coincidentally, his fellow Season 27 coach Kelsea Ballerini also performed on that episode), and Levine returned for Blake Shelton’s final episode in 2023.

The Voice' Season 27 Premiere: How Blake Shelton Got Adam Levine to Return

It’s not surprising to hear that Adam Levine was flooded with emotional memories upon returning to The Voice set. I’m sure it’s strange to not have Blake Shelton around, and he made sure to troll the cowboy when talking about his return. (Shelton, for his part, also continued to shade Levine for years after Levine left, even slamming his tattoo artist.)

It wasn’t all fun times on The Voice for the Maroon 5 frontman, either. In addition to the aforementioned controversial moments — which included a feud with Christina Aguilera over ex-Mickey Mouse Club performer Tony Lucca singing “99 Problems” and later when he threw a Team Adam singer under the bus — Adam Levine also experienced devastation when his former team member 22-year-old Christina Grimmie was murdered during a fan meet-and-greet.

The Voice Season 27: Premiere Date, Coaches, News, Details | NBC Insider

Adam Levine definitely went through some stuff in the first 16 seasons of The Voice, so even if the nostalgia was surprising to him, it’s not hard to see why returning to a show he didn’t think he’d missed was actually pretty emotional.

Hopefully Season 27 holds more fun and less controversy. Tune in to find out when it premieres at 8 p.m. ET Monday, February 3, and streaming the next day with a Peacock subscription.

Adam Levine makes a big change on ‘The Voice’ with a shocking chair turn – The audience and coaches can’t hide their reactions

It’s only one episode since Adam Levine returned to The Voice, and it looks like he’s already doing things differently than before!

Season 27 of the NBC series premiered on February 3, and viewers were quickly introduced to singer Grace-Miller Moody. She decided to sing a soulful rendition of Adam’s band Maroon 5’s hit song “Sunday Morning,” which left everyone completely stunned by her talent. As coaches Michael Bublé, John Legend and Kelsea Ballerini all turned their chairs for Grace-Miller, Adam shocked everyone by hitting the red button as well. What’s more, the move had everyone riled up for a surprising reason.

    Watch the video below.

“Adam notoriously does not turn for his own song!” Kelsea exclaimed in a clip posted on YouTube. “So, you have broken the code!”

Kelsea wasn’t the only one shocked by Adam’s surprise move. John also had some thoughts on the entire situation, trying to convince Grace-Miller she needed a coach who’d been on The Voice in recent seasons.

“Obviously, all of us feel like we’re at a disadvantage,” John added, with the audience cracking up. “It’s been a long since Adam has been on The Voice, and he’s quite likely very, very rusty. You’ll need someone that’s got more recent experience and you understand how it’s been on the show for the last 10 seasons and not how it was way back in the ancient era.”

Given the entire audition caused a stir, fans couldn’t stop commenting how good Grace-Miller’s vocals sounded.

“What a way to start off Adam’s comeback season,” one person wrote in the YouTube comments. “Very unique … I love her,” another agreed. “Love the voice and the arrangement,” a different follower added.

So, did Kelsea and John’s comments on Adam’s unexpected chair turn pan out for them? It seemed like Adam made the right call, as Grace-Miller chose him to be her mentor throughout the competition.

Well, it looks like Adam’s rise to victory is only just beginning!

New Coach Kelsea Ballerini causes controversy by taunting Adam Levine on The Voice Season 27

‘Voice’ singer breaks ‘the code’ and gets Adam Levine to turn for Maroon 5 song

A contestant on Season 27 of “The Voice” got all four coaches to turn their chairs during the show’s premiere episode on Feb. 3 episode.

Grace-Miller Moody, who stepped on stage singing “Sunday Morning” by Maroon 5, wowed coaches Levine, John Legend, Michael Bublé and Kelsea Ballerini with her vocal skills.

Kelsea Ballerini taunts Adam Levine with voice of Blake Shelton

“Adam notoriously does not turn for his own song,” Ballerini told the 20-year-old contestant from Florence, South Carolina, on the show. “So, you have broken the code.”

Bublé then tried to predict what Levine would tell Moody to convince her to be on his team.

“I’m going to say all the things that Adam is about to say to you. This is the greatest I’ve ever heard one of my songs sung. You are amazing!” Bublé jokes.

“Tell me what to say so that I can be your coach and be with you as you become a worldwide superstar,” he adds.

Legend also tried to get Moody on his team. When the “Green Light” singer made his pitch, he joked about Levine’s experience on the show.

“Obviously, all of us feel like we’re at a disadvantage. It’s been a long time since Adam has been on ‘The Voice’ and he’s quite likely very, very rusty,” Legend says. “You’ll need someone that’s got more recent experience and will understand how it’s been on the show for the last 10 seasons, and not how it was way back in the ancient era.”

Just as Levine was getting ready to share his pitch, he got interrupted by Ballerini, who pressed a button on her chair that let out a jab from former “Voice” coach Blake Shelton.

“Adam’s a big baby,” Shelton could be heard saying, along with a few other disses, such as “Adam won’t shut up” and “Adam, you say a lot of stupid stuff.”

Ballerini explained that she got her button modified for moments when she “really needed some backup.”

After a quick laugh, Levine then directed his attention towards Moody and said he could help her win the show because her potential is “limitless.”

“There was just something about what you were doing that was so infectious, and so lovable and so soulful,” he said. “You can absolutely go all the way and win this thing.”

Ballerini also expressed how she would love to be Moody’s coach. She said that while turning her chair alongside three of her “favorite artists” is “terrifying,” Moody is “worth it.”

After hearing from all the judges, to most likely no one’s surprise, Moody chose to be on Levine’s team.

“I’m going to go with Adam,” she said.

Adam Levine and Behati Prinsloo are marking 10 years of marriage back where it all began.

On Saturday, July 20, the couple welcomed 150 of their closest friends and family to a rollicking celebration (planned by Yifat Oren) at Flora Farms in San José del Cabo, PEOPLE confirms exclusively.

According to a source, Sublime with Rome, who played at the couple’s 2014 nuptials, returned for another performance while guests toasted with Calirosa Tequila specialty drinks.

Guests enjoyed a dinner in the venue’s mango grove, featuring a seasonal field-to-table menu that included handmade burrata, coal-roasted chicken and pan-seared sea bass, along with drinks such as Calirosa Palomas and skinny margaritas.

When Levine — who is back on The Voice for its 27th season (airing in 2025) — and Prinsloo exchanged vows 10 years ago, the model walked down the aisle in a custom-made Marchesa dress and floor-length veil as famous pals, including Robert Downey Jr., Stevie Nicks and more looked on.

“All the guests were happy and relaxed,” an insider told PEOPLE at the time. “They were excited to celebrate with the couple on their big day.”

Since tying the knot, Levine and Prinsloo have gone on to welcome three kids, daughters Dusty Rose, 7, and Gio Grace, 6, as well as a son (born in January 2023), whose name the couple have not shared publicly.

“It’s awesome. I embrace the chaos,” Levine — who included his family in Maroon 5’s “Middle Ground” music video — told Ryan Seacrest last year about fatherhood.

“The cool thing about my kids is they’re obsessed with the band. They know every [song],” the singer told SiriusXM’s The Morning Mash Up in April. “It’s interesting to see because they know songs that I don’t even remember writing or singing.”

Prinsloo and their kids have joined Levine in Las Vegas during the band’s residency (which kicks off again this fall), and “my daughter Dusty, she’s a Maroon 5 historian,” Levine joked about their oldest. “We’re trying to get them to branch out a little bit.”

After first connecting via email in 2012, Levine and Prinsloo “fell in love” virtually before meeting face-to-face a month later in Los Angeles, Prinsloo previously told Net-a-Porter.

“He took me for dinner and we talked for hours and had the best time,” she said. “It was love at first sight, it was crazy.”

The following year Levine popped the question with a 1930s engagement ring. “Doesn’t matter how certain you think you are, man. You still get down on that knee and everything turns … you just get woozy,” he later detailed on Live! With Kelly and Michael.
