‘Family Feud’ Fans Threaten To Boycott Show, Why?

    Family Feud: Steve Harvey

As much as viewers have enjoyed watching Family Feud for decades, there is an increasing number of people who are threatening to boycott the program and never watch it again. So, what is the reasoning behind this?

Family Feud: Game Show Has Been Part Of Households For Generations

Like any game show that stands the test of time and continues for decades, there is a rich history behind it that goes beyond the game itself. When you think of shows like Family FeudThe Price Is RightWheel Of Fortune, and Jeopardy!, just to name a few, these shows are more than just about the games.

With shows like these that have been on for decades, there is a major dose of nostalgia with them. With so many things changing in the world at an alarming rate, these shows become a constant that people can count on. Because of this, there are fond memories associated with these shows.

Some Viewers Threaten To Boycott Show

With almost 50 years of history to its name, this show goes back a long way. Even so, there is an increasing number of people boycotting the show and not coming back. The reason for this is the surprisingly raunchy tone the show has taken of late.

Family Feud used to be considered fun family entertainment. However, with the recent nature of many of the survey questions and answers, many lament the fact that the show has taken a turn away from the family-friendly nature that gave it its fanbase in the first place.

Family Feud: Recent Example Highlights Drastic Shift In Tone

A perfect example to highlight this tonal shift happened recently when host Steve Harvey asked the question: “Men stare at women’s boobs. Name something that men have that women might stare at.”

A recent contestant responded with: “How about their package?”

The producers certainly know what they are doing in terms of collecting raunchy soundbites that they can then turn into viral clips on social media. However, particularly for people who grew up watching the show, who are now watching it with their children or grandchildren, these people agree that the show has taken a lewd turn that it doesn’t seem to be coming back from.

Fans Not Happy With Show’s Raunchy Turn

While these spicy survey questions and answers may appeal to some people, there is an increasing number of Family Feud viewers who continue to call for the show to return to its more family-friendly roots. Just on this recent clip alone from the show, viewers have plenty to say.

One commenter said: “Whats going on at family feud these days.”
Another commenter added: “wasn’t this a family show at one point?”
A third user agreed, adding: “Family feud is getting weird.”

‘Wheel of Fortune’s’ White doesn’t ‘jibe’ with Ryan Seacrest: Report

Less than a month after Pat Sajak retired from “Wheel of Fortune,” there are signs the show’s co-host Vanna White may sign off as well, according to The Daily Mail.

Vanna White Responds to Ryan Seacrest Wheel of Fortune Drama RumorsA source told the publication that White, 67, does not “jibe” with Sajak’s replacement, TV host Ryan Seacrest, 49.

The two have already filmed two episodes of “Wheel of Fortune” for the upcoming season, which premieres in September.

Even before Sajak’s final episode, which aired June 7, White admitted she was hesitant to stay on the show without her longtime TV partner, as they had been together for 41 years.

Stunning 'Wheel of Fortune' Report Suggests Vanna White Feels “Forced” Chemistry With New Co-Host Ryan Seacrest — And May Even Quit Early | Decider

This comes after White negotiated a significant pay increase, with reports stating she had previously been making $3 million, with no raises in around 15 years, compared to Sajak’s $15 million.

Fox News reported last September that White ultimately extended her contract for two additional years, meaning she will stay on through the 2025-2026 season.“Vanna feels that she has put her time in. She devoted her entire life to his show and she had an incredible run while making a fortune,” The Daily Mail reported a source as saying. “She knows that the show needs to go in a different direction and appeal to a younger demographic. She wants the show to continue.”

Should White end up leaving when her contract ends, a likely successor would be Sajak’s daughter, Maggie. White’s already publicly endorsed the 29-year-old for the job, saying Maggie Sajak’s been around “Wheel of Fortune” her whole life.

“She’s precious, she’s beautiful, she’s very good,” White told E! of Maggie. “I think she learned a lot from her father because he’s such a good interviewer.”

Ryan Seacrest is here to save the day!

The American Idol star is reportedly making his return to Live with Kelly and Mark just one month after he said goodbye to his daytime talk show following his six-season run.

According to a publication, the broadcaster will make a guest appearance on the Thursday, May 18, episode of the show hosted by former cohost Kelly Ripa and her husband, Mark Consuelos, who took over Seacrest’s hosting duties.

Seacrest heading back to his stomping grounds may not come as too much of a shock to fans, given that he promised he’d be back on the program while announcing his exit from the series in February.

“This isn’t the end, I’m going to be back,” the 48-year-old assured his loyal fans. “This place is remarkable. I’m going to miss coming into this studio to see the people who have worked here for so long. It is about the people here; it’s a family at Live and they adopted me for a little while and I’m grateful for that. … So I’ll definitely be visiting from time to time.”

Fans of Live! are likely ecstatic to hear of his return, as they have been split over Ripa and Consuelos taking the reins.

Between the overly PDA couple going overboard on live television to them airing out too much of their marital dirty laundry and pre-recording episodes months in advance, it seems Ripa and Consuelos can’t do right by their fans.

Following the husband and wife’s debut as cohosts in mid April, fans took to the internet to share their thoughts, with one joking: “Bruuuutal! Last time i watch. I can go to the mall and watch teenagers kiss LESS!!! THE BEGINNING OF THE END.”

“Ok Kelly..we get it..you love Mark..enough ..Now just get on with the show and entertainment..” noted another unimpressed viewer, while a third pleaded: “This the WORST decision. Horrible cohosts. There was no one else who could cohost with @KellyRipa ??? Please change this.” SB

Despite baring nothing but smiles on-air amid the constant backlash, Ripa finds the negative remarks surrounding Consuelos’ performance “irritating,” as OK! reported.

    It was an emotional exchange.

Ryan Seacrest broke down in tears Friday during an episode of “Live with Kelly and Ryan” after welcoming Ripa’s husband and new co-host, Mark Consuelos, onto the show, reports Entertainment Weekly.

It was announced Thursday that Seacrest, 48, would leave the daytime talk show after six years and focus on hosting the singing show “American Idol.”

“This is something that [Kelly] and I have been talking about for a long time, and it was a tough, tough decision,” Seacrest stated. “Last year we spoke, and I made the decision to make this my last season as co-host.”

Seacrest said he wouldn’t be gone from the show forever and would appear as a special guest host from time to time.

It was later revealed that Consuelos would take over the vacant spot.

The “All My Children” star appeared on the show Friday to pay tribute to Seacrest.

“I do want to say, you’re a brother to me, you’re a family member to me. I’ve become so close with both of you,” Seacrest told Consuelos, 51. “The three of us sat — before I moved out here — and had real conversations about doing this for a few years. It ended up being longer than I thought, and I couldn’t be happier to see you come in and be next to your wife, who we both know is the most amazing human being on the planet.”

Consuelos echoed the sentiment, saying that he was glad the “American Idol” host had become a part of the family.

“I couldn’t think of a better person to sit next to my wife for the past six years,” gushed Consuelos. “You’re a true friend. You’re a brother. You’re generous to my wife, to my whole family. I got to meet your family. I love your parents, your niece, your sister, your brother-in-law.”
According to an insider at the show, no one was surprised at the host's departure. The insider revealed that Seacrest was feeling the strain of pulling triple duty between his radio show, "Idol," and the talk show. Don’t hold her parenting against her.

Britney Spears slams Ryan Seacrest in her new memoir over a 2007 interview that focused on whether she was a “fit parent” to her two sons.

“Ryan Seacrest asked me questions like ‘How do you respond to those who criticize you as a mom?’ and ‘Do you feel like you’re doing everything you can for your kids?’ and ‘How often will you see them?’” the singer writes in “The Woman in Me.”

Spears notes in the book, which hit stores Tuesday, that the radio interview “was supposed to be about” her critically acclaimed “Blackout” album.

“It felt like that was the only thing people wanted to talk about: whether or not I was a fit mother,” she recalls.

“Not about how I’d made such a strong album while holding two babies on my hips and being pursued by dozens of dangerous [paparazzi] all day every day.”

However, the “American Idol” host, 48, went on to interview Spears, 41, multiple times after the conversation in question.

At the time, the Grammy winner was engaged in a lengthy custody battle with her ex-husband Kevin Federline over their children, Sean Preston, now 18, and Jayden, now 17.

Wheel of Fortune Fans slam Ryan Seacrest after he continues to ‘interfere’ in game

Wheel Of Fortune fans slammed Ryan Seacrest for his presenting style after a ‘mistake’ saw him interrupt the play of a contestant.

    Ryan Seacrest

Ryan Seacrest infuriated Wheel Of Fortune fans after he stepped in before a bonus round was officially over.

The WOF host was seen in Tuesday’s episode as contestant Andy Schwartz made a late comeback to win the game.

The player had $27,000 in cash earnings and he selected the Phrase category and joined Seacrest to tackle the three-word puzzle.

He chose the additional letters “CHMO,” leaving the puzzle reading as “‘_ _ SE_’ ‘ON’ ‘_R_NC_ _LE’” as the 10-second timer began.

Schwartz immediately guessed the last word in the puzzle as he attempted to speed through every possible full answer he could think of. He said: “Always on principle” “Gotta be principle” “Wasn’t on principle.”

    Wheel Of Fortune

On the moment the buzzer sounded as the timer ran out, Seacrest interrupted to say he had missed it rather than waiting for the letters to spell out the answer for viewers.

Schwartz was also in then middle of making one final guess (players are allowed to finish answers they started after the timer runs out) and had to stop mid-flow.

Ryan said: “No you’re so close… Based… On… Principle.” It was clear to the viewers he had given the answer prematurely as he had to lengthen each word to sync up with the missing letters as they filled in.

After Wheel Of Fortune shared a clip of the bonus puzzle on YouTube several fans of the show took to the comments section to point out that Seacrest should have waited for the round to be decisively over before he interrupted and spoke.

One viewer said: “He’s still saying the puzzle when the contestant misses it,” another wrote “Just let the letters come up, Ryan.”

Other disgruntled viewers pointed out that Ryan’s predecessor Pat Sajak always let the full puzzle become unveiled before he made any comment on the player’s progress.

Schwartz failed to nab himself a brand new Ford in the puzzle. Fans gave Schwartz a hard time for not spotting what many of them labeled as an “easy” solve.

One said: “He didn’t make sense to me. He should have known it was ‘based…’ He probably wasn’t really reading it,” as another bluntly added, “This is Easy Solve.”

White’s post came just weeks after it was reported that she and Seacrest, who replaced longtime host Pat Sajak after 41 seasons, aren’t seeing eye-to-eye.

Seacrest will officially replace Sajak, 77, when “Wheel of Fortune” returns for Season 42 in September.

White, meanwhile, extended her contract to stay on the show until the 2025-2026 season after a salary dispute. According to TMZ, White secured a “substantial pay increase” with her deal.

Wheel Of Fortune former host, Pat Sajak spent more than four decades in the public eye. While that comes with some drawbacks, he and Vanna White have earned their status along the way. However, he was raking in a ludicrous salary while only having four days of work a month.

Pat Sajak Continues To Light Up The Stage

While Wheel Of Fortune has a new host, Ryan Seacrest, the world won’t forget its long-running legend, Pat Sajak, anytime soon. As Pat enjoys his retirement, he finds plenty of things to do. For instance, before his final spin, he had already landed a role in a stage production of Prescription: Murder. However, Pat had a pretty sweet setup while steering the Wheel. Not only was his salary significant, but he only worked four days a month.

Pat Sajak’s Ludicrous Salary 4 Days A Month

According to Forbes in 2016, Pat Sajak reportedly brought in $15 million per season for Wheel of Fortune. For most Americans that seems like a ludicrous amount for only showing up to work four days a month based on details from Celebrity Net Worth. Specifically, the breakdown figures out to be just 48 days per year working. Furthermore, he was making $312,500 per workday. Additionally, that was $52,083 per episode. An average workday for Pat and Vanna White was arriving at 8:30 a.m. and beginning recording at noon. Their days included the production of six episodes squeezed into the filming time. Notably, the $15 million was reported in 2016, so most likely his end salary was even higher. Both Vanna White and Pat had new contract negotiations in 2021.

He Had Multiple Streams Of Income Through The Years

Furthermore, Pat Sajak’s new gig according to Variety, is playing a “brilliant psychiatrist Roy Flemming.” It is described as saying he “hatches a plot with a perfect alibi to murder his neurotic and possessive wife.” But acting isn’t new to Pat. Previously, Pat’s work schedule afforded him time to work on other projects as well. Not only has he been on stage for more than four decades with Wheel Of Fortune, but he also appeared in many films which added to his net worth as well. One notable feature film was Airline II: The Sequel. Furthermore, he also appeared on Super Password and Password Plus, from 1984 to 1989. Additionally, like his new gig, Pat has starred in many stage productions too.

Not only was Wheel Of Fortune paying Pat Sajak a pretty penny, but he also receives income from licensing his image to casinos. Reportedly, he makes more money from slot machines than the game show. Markedly, Wheel was the first ever entertainment property to allow license use on slot machines.

Pat Sajak Also Invested In Property

Also, Pat Sajak had multiple property investments through the years. In 1988, he purchased a home in the LA suburb of Encino for $1.895 million. It had 6 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms and has increased in estimated value between $5.5 million and $10 million today. Additionally, in 1991 he invested in a 3-acre waterfront property in Severna Park, Maryland. Reportedly, as of 2024, his net worth is now closer to $75 million with all parts considered. Undoubtedly, Pat is still staying busy in retirement. Furthermore, fans can expect to see Pat for one last hurrah on Celebrity Wheel Of Fortune.

What do you think about Pat Sajak’s salary in 2016? Do you think he ended his tour with a more significant salary? How do you think his predecessor, Ryan Seacrest’s pay compares? Do you miss seeing Pat on the Wheel Of Fortune? Drop your comments below.

When Jeopardy! host Ken Jennings made an appearance on The View this morning, co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin asked him for a reaction following Sajak saying he was stepping down.

“Another legendary game show host, Pat Sajak, just announced that he’s going to be retiring from Wheel of Fortune at the end of next season. What’s your reaction to the news, and any ideas on who should replace him?” Griffin asked.

In the middle of Griffin’s question, Goldberg is heard saying, “I want that job.”

Jennings was hopeful that “Wheel’s got an envelope that says what to do when” the host leaves following Jeopardy’s “own succession crisis.”

Joy Behar jumped in and said, “Whoopi wants that job.”

Goldberg confirmed saying, “I want that job. I think it would be lots of fun.”

Behar further suggested that “Sara [Haines] and I could be Vanna White. We’ll take turns walking back and forth and pointing to the letters.”

Goldberg would be no stranger to game shows as she was a producer on the 1998 revival of Hollywood Squares and became “center square.”

Sajak announced Monday that he would be stepping down as host of Wheel of Fortune after Season 41 of the syndicated game show.

“Well, the time has come. I’ve decided that our 41st season, which begins in September, will be my last,” Sajak said in a statement. “It’s been a wonderful ride, and I’ll have more to say in the coming months. Many thanks to you all. If nothing else, it’ll keep the clickbait sites busy!”
