Adam Levine Reveals Why He Really Returned to The Voice

Adam Levine shared more insight into his decision to return as a coach on The Voice season 27 after leaving in 2019 following 16 seasons during an exclusive interview with E! News.

Adam Levine is happy to bring back these memories.

Adam Levine Reveals Why He Really Returned to The Voice

With the Maroon 5 frontman making his return as a coach for season 27 of The Voice after exiting in 2019, he reflected on why he was ready to sit back in his cherry red throne.

“I just felt like it was time,” Adam told E! News correspondent Will Marfuggi in an exclusive interview. “I had some time to reflect and do my thing and be with my family.”

As he put it, “I was ready to do it, then the stars aligned and here I am.”

Despite making his decision to leave the show after 16 seasons in 2019, the 45-year-old—who shares kids Dusty Rose, 8, Gio Grace, 6, and 2-year-old son with wife Behati Prinsloo—doesn’t regret the move.

“It’s funny, I actually didn’t miss it while I was gone,” he admitted. “But I became more nostalgic about it once I came back.” (For more with Adam and the Voice coaches, tune into E! News tonight, Jan. 30 at 11 p.m.)

As for how the “Sugar” singer feels being alongside coaches John LegendMichael Bublé and Kelsea Ballerini?

“I feel like no time has passed, but then it also feels so different in an amazing way,” he reflected. “I’m just super happy and pumped. I love these guys so much.”

But despite Adam’s sudden departure from the singing competition six years ago, he did make a brief cameo during the season 23 finale in 2023 to perform Maroon 5’s song “Middle Ground.”

When the musician—who also worked with Blake SheltonChristina AguileraShakiraGwen Stefani and more over the years—first said goodbye, he shared insight into his experience filming for nearly a decade.

“It went on to be a life-shaping experience that will be close to my heart forever,” he wrote on Instagram at the time. “I am truly honored to have been a part of something I’ll always cherish for the rest of my life.”

“Thank you to every single coach I ever sat in those chairs with,” he continued. “That is shared experience that is singularly ours. We have that for life. Thank you to everyone who supported this long strange and amazing left turn into a place I never thought I’d go.”

How can I catch up on The Voice if I miss an episode?

All episodes of The Voice are available on Peacock the day after they air!

Coaches Michael Bublé, John Legend, Adam Levine and Kelsea Ballerini are ready to rock Season 27. Bublé told NBC Insider that his main rule for being a Coach on the show is to “be empathetic and warm and to always realize that [the Artists are] a mirror image of you and where you’ve been and where you’ve come [from].”

“This is about the Artists, for the Artists,” he continued. “It’s not about us. We love being here. We love being part of the process. There’s a reason why we’ve come and gone, and the people in the red seats change, but the show stays successful. It’s because they’ve made sure they are so protective of the artists. And that’s the legacy of the show.”

“My favorite part about it [being a Coach],” Bublé added, “was when I had to let people go for the first time, I was upset about it. Until I realized that their lives had changed. Until I realized that their careers had started. They started to create a business that could go on.”

Reba McEntire Is No Longer on ‘The Voice’: Details of Her Departure

With season 27 of The Voice premiering tonight, fans anxiously await to see the new pool of singers.

Although excited about the new season, the show said goodbye to Reba McEntire just last season. While the coaches often change throughout the seasons, Reba became a popular figure on the show.

And to make it even better, the contestants loved her. She helped Asher HaVon walk away the winner of season 25. But with a new lineup of coaches, here is the reason Reba might not be returning to The Voice.

For those following Reba’s career, the hitmaker did more than release music.

Although finding her footing in the entertainment business thanks to country music, she turned that fame into a career that featured her helming her own show Reba. Having worked in front of the camera for decades, Reba returned to television back in October 2024 with Happy’s Place.

With Reba spending time on set with her boyfriend Rex Linn and Melissa Peterman, fans appeared to love the singer’s return. Although ordering a first season, details about the future of Happy’s Place are still in limbo as NBC continues to discuss the future of the show. But with Happy’s Place bringing over 14 million viewers, it is only a matter of time before the network calls for a second season.

Reba McEntire Seemed To Have Found Her Happy Place For Now

As Reba shared her excitement to return to acting, her commitment to Happy’s Place seemed to be the reason she didn’t return to The Voice.

Knowing the hectic schedule that comes with competing on The Voice, the singer could be dealing with conflicting dates and decided to focus on her show.

The Truth Behind Reba McEntire Leaving 'The Voice' for Season 27

Although Reba’s time on The Voice is unclear, a return could happen in the future. After leaving in 2019, Adam Levine announced his return to the show for season 27.

Thrilled to be back on set, the singer will compete against the other coaches including John Legend, Kelsea Ballerini, and Michael Bublé, who won season 26 with Sofronio Vasquez.

Don’t miss the season 27 premiere of The Voice, airing tonight at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT on NBC and available to stream the following day on Peacock.

[BIG HINT] Vanna White is going to quit Wheel of Fortune

Wheel of Fortune’s Vanna White’s salary talks are ‘getting ugly’ as execs ‘refuse’ to raise her paycheck to $15M a year

THE salary talks for Wheel of Fortune host Vanna White have reportedly been getting ugly with the executive producers.

Since June, Vanna, 66, asked for half of what longtime co-host Pat Sajak, 76, makes, which is estimated at $15million a year.

A lawyer for Vanna White is reportedly negotiating two salary deals, one for Wheel of Fortune and another for Celebrity Wheel of Fortune

Sources claimed Vanna’s lawyer, Bryan Friedman, is negotiating two deals: one for Celebrity Wheel of Fortune and the other for the long-running syndicated show, according to TMZ.

Friedman reportedly asked a Sony executive to use a third party to evaluate Pat and Vanna’s roles on the syndicated show to come up with a “fair figure.”

A source claimed an executive denied his request because the studio does not want to use Pat’s salary for comparability.

Negotiations for the syndicated program have reportedly halted due to the Writers Guild of America strike.

An insider told the outlet: “It’s gonna get ugly if Sony doesn’t get more serious.”

Meanwhile, for her new contract for Celebrity Wheel of Fortune, the 66-year-old star will receive a “meaningful bump” and is expected to make $100,000 per episode.

    ‘A MODEL EMPLOYEE’

Near the end of June, TMZ also confirmed Pat’s co-star makes about $3million a year.

Her salary has remained the same for the past 18 years, and she has not received a single pay increase.

An insider close to the situation claimed negotiations between Vanna and Sony have been “very difficult” because the hostess “feels like it’s a statement for all women” and is reportedly negotiating for “a minimum of what is fair.

“After 41 years as a model employee and more the face of that show than him [Pat], asking for 50 percent of what he makes seems like a no-brainer.”

    ‘TRULY HUMBLED’

That same month, the game show announced via social media that  Ryan Seacrest, 48, will take over for Pat at the end of next season.

With a glammed-up photo of the American Idol host, the caption stated: “It’s official! Starting in 2024, Ryan Seacrest will take the stage as the new host of Wheel of Fortune.

“We’re so excited – Welcome Ryan!”

The new host shared a statement on social media and confirmed Vanna will remain on the puzzle board in September 2024.

He said: “I’m truly humbled to be stepping into the footsteps of the legendary Pat Sajak.

“I can say, along with the rest of America, that it’s been a privilege and pure joy to watch Pat and Vanna on our television screens for an unprecedented 40 years.”

Ryan concluded: “I can’t wait to continue the tradition of spinning the wheel and working alongside the great Vanna White.”

Wheel of Fortune ‘replaces’ Vanna White on show amid beloved host’s bitter fight for pay raise

WHEEL of Fortune has opted to sub out Vanna White temporarily, according to reports on Friday.

The iconic letter-turner is in the midst of unresolved contract negotiations to get higher pay amid host Pat Sajak’s upcoming retirement.

Vanna, 66, will miss a few episodes of Wheel of Fortune this fall, Puck News reported.

Vanna apparently contracted Covid-19 in late July while Wheel was filming its annual Teachers Week, which is scheduled to air in October.

Instead of halting production, producers decided to bring in a sub.

They contacted Teacher of the Year recipient, Bridgette Donald-Blue, to replace Vanna at the letter board for the week of episodes.

The beloved game show opted not to wait for Vanna to recuperate.

Vanna’s absence from the show will be her first in nearly 30 years.

VANNA LAWYERS UP FOR ‘FAIR PAY’

The news comes as Vanna is reportedly in tense contract negations, hoping to get her first reported raise in 18 years.

Longtime host Pat, 76, recently announced he will retire in June 2024 after 40 years of hosting.

Ryan Seacrest, 48, will take over for him after the end of next season, marking the end of an era and the start of a new one.

Vanna is demanding a well-earned pay bump as she reportedly makes half of what Pat makes now.

Sources told People: “50 percent of Pat’s salary is so outrageous that no one in their right mind could say that it’s fair.

“The negotiation is asking for much more than 50 percent of his salary. It’s asking for the same pay – if not more.”

In a resurfaced interview with Esquire, Vanna once claimed that she “worked harder” than her co-host.

“My position is much more, what’s the word? I work a lot harder,” joked Vanna at the time. “I’ve walked thousands of miles. And he didn’t have to do that. In my heels, no less.”

Vanna hired high-powered lawyer Bryan Friedman to negotiate two deals – one for Celebrity Wheel of Fortune and the other for the long-running syndicated show, according to TMZ.

Negotiations for the syndicated program have reportedly halted due to the Writers Guild of America strike.

But an insider told the outlet: “It’s gonna get ugly if Sony doesn’t get more serious.”

Meanwhile, for her new contract for Celebrity Wheel of Fortune, the 66-year-old star will receive a “meaningful bump” and is expected to make $100,000 per episode.

Pat reportedly makes $400,000 an episode.

This comes as TMZ previously confirmed that Vanna makes about $3million a year overall.

Pat reportedly makes about $15million a year overall, according to the outlet.

Negotiations between Vanna and Sony have become “very difficult,” an insider close to the situation also told TMZ.

Another source claimed the hostess “feels like it’s a statement for all women” and is reportedly negotiating for “a minimum of what is fair.”

However, a source has told People that the previous report from TMZ was inaccurate, including the claim that Vanna accepted an offer of $100,000 per episode to continue the show’s Celebrity edition.

    RARELY OFF THE BOARD

Vanna has only been away from the show three times in history.

In 1986, her predecessor Susan Stafford returned while Vanna grieved the death of her boyfriend, John Gibson, after a tragic plane crash, per People.

The second time was when Tricia Gist took over during Vanna’s two-week honeymoon with ex-husband George San Pietro in 1991- with whom Vanna shares her two children.

Tricia stepped in once more that year when Vanna contracted a cold.

On two occasions, Pat’s daughter, Maggie, has taken on puzzle duties but Vanna was still on-screen.

One was in 2019 during her father’s surgery recovery – Vanna hosted.

The other was in 2023 for Celebrity Wheel and Vanna competed.

Season 41 of Wheel premieres on Sept. 11 and will be Pat’s last.

Ryan Seacrest slammed as ‘annoying’ and ‘lazy’ by Wheel of Fortune viewers

Wheel of Fortune viewers have been sharing their frustrations about new host Ryan Seacrest online – with some slamming his ‘annoying’ failures and labelling him as ‘irritating’ in comparison to Pat Sajak.

Since taking over from longtime host Sajak in September, the 50-year-old presenter has been dealing with mixed reviews from fans as they adjust to his presenting style on the popular game show.

However, in a recent Reddit post, viewers revealed some of the issues that continue to plague the show after months of Seacrest at the helm alongside Vanna White.

One fan kicked off the complaints and argued about the way Seacrest was failing to properly guide contestants about the rules.

‘Ever since Ryan Seacrest took over for Pat Sajak, in recent episodes I’ve been watching, I’ve been discovering that Ryan has been forgetting to remind the player to dump the wild card after landing on bankrupt,’ the Reddit user noted on Monday.

They continued: ‘I’m not sure if he’s been forgetting too much or he’s just being lazy to remind the player.’

Another user agreed as they added: ‘I think the more annoying thing is when he doesn’t remind them to call a letter before they solve in the last round when time is running out. Lady today lost out on $1,500 or so.’

The original commenter replied: ‘That’s exactly how he is. I haven’t been too happy on how the season is going along. I would have to agree with you on why he doesn’t remind the player to call a letter when time runs short.

‘He has big shoes to fill, but he has even enormous shoes to fill. I understand he’s different but not in a way like that.’

Elsewhere, another fan of the show revealed their ire about the way Seacrest plugs his other presenting jobs as they wrote: ‘I find Ryan to be very self promoting about his other gigs and his other sponsorship deals in the WOF show.

‘I’m at least glad Vanna is getting to say more, but you can’t convince me that they’re actually buddies even though he keeps commenting on it and calling her a nickname. She’s a pro and plays along.’

The fan continued: ‘I just don’t believe that he actually loves the game itself. And as the host, he should be pointing out to the players when they have the clock ticking or “don’t want to guess a letter first?” — it shows he cares about everyone doing well.’

The Reddit user then added: ‘And good grief — announce the dollar amount of the prize money at the end of the final spin — I’d think the ADA rules would require that.

‘When they win, the announcer says the amount — but when they loose there’s a long delay before Ryan says it. For the visually impaired SAY IT.’

The complaint echoed a similar statement made by the original commenter who wrote: ‘Also, I don’t like how he opens the bonus envelope backwards like a piece of paper and he doesn’t read the bonus envelope prize out loud.’

‘Oh my god, I hate the way he shows the money and the bonus round’, another viewer agreed. ‘He holds the card up against his chest and builds up the suspense, and it’s 40K. Sad slide whistle.’

Yet another fan chimed in and added: ‘I’ve said before he sort of contorts his body flipping open the card… as if its 75k or 100k and it ends up the lowest cash prize.

‘It’s strange. He needs to practice just flipping it open without the clumsy body movements.’

One viewer argued: ‘It was time for Pat to go, but I agree, weak choice just taking America’s host of everything Ryan. He’s gotten better, but there’s really something missing.

‘He has too much going on in his life to sit back & work on making himself better with this show. Even if this is filmed a few days a month, he’s too busy.’

Another fan noted: ‘And tonight was the perfect opportunity for him to say something when she said ‘I’d like to solve.’ When the contestant just yells it out without calling a letter that’s one thing.

‘But when they say ‘I’d like to solve’ he should step in and say you might want to guess a letter first. Irritating.’

However, there were several fans who spoke out in defense of Seacrest and praised his time as host so far.

‘Get off of Ryan’s back. He is a delightful host,’ one fan stated. ‘He makes Pat Sejak look like an ogre. He and Vanna are a perfect duo for Wheel. I enjoy the show now more than ever.’

Another commented: ‘I really enjoy how Ryan hosts the show. He’s enthusiastic and really cheers the contestants on. I never cared for Pat’s snarky comments.’

A third added: ‘I do like how he is more engaging but he is shortcoming sometimes. pat was… demeaning.’

Though some fans have been slow to warm to Seacrest, adding him to the game show has been good for ratings.

Wheel of Fortune averaged 7.99 million viewers during Seacrest’s first month, and during that time, the show was ‘the most-watched entertainment series across broadcast, cable, and syndication,’ according to Nielsen data per Newsweek.

In January, it was revealed that the show only saw a slight drop in audience numbers by the end of 2024.

Per The Los Angeles Times, Nielsen data showed WoF earning an average of 7.9 million viewers through December 1, 2024 – which was an increase of three percent from the prior year.

Though O’Donnell’s last day was previously set for Jan. 24, CBS is scheduled to air the Farmers Insurance Open from 5-8 p.m. that evening, per TV listings. O’Donnell, whose show airs at 6:30 p.m. EST on CBS, had her last shift at the desk on Jan. 23.

The anchor and managing editor announced in a staff call last summer that she would be leaving the station “after this year’s election.” O’Donnell has headlined the evening show for five years.

CBS News anchors Norah O'Donnell, left, and Margaret Brennan moderate the debate between Republican vice presidential nominee, Sen. JD Vance and Democratic vice presidential nominee, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz at the CBS Broadcast Center on Oct. 1, 2024, in New York City.

“I have spent 12 years in the anchor chair here at CBS News, connected to a daily broadcast and the rigors of a relentless news cycle,” she said in a statement shared by the network in July.

“It’s time to do something different. This presidential election will be my seventh as a journalist, and for many of us in this business we tend to look at our careers in terms of these milestone events.”

    Where is Norah O’Donnell going?

In a Jan. 22 Instagram Story Q&A, O’Donnell replied to a fan inquiring about what she’s doing after she steps away from the “Evening News” desk.

“Big interviews and investigations for ’60 Minutes’ and CBS News. Send ideas!” she replied.

Previously, in her July statement, O’Donnell said she would remain a contributor to “Evening News” and other programs, including “60 Minutes,” as a correspondent.

CBS News CEO Wendy McMahon also said O’Donnell’s new role will allow her to “have the real estate and flexibility to leverage big bookings on numerous platforms, including primetime specials, ’60 Minutes,’ ‘CBS News Sunday Morning,’ and more.”

Who’s replacing Norah O’Donnell on ‘CBS Evening News?’

Starting Jan. 27, CBS anchors John Dickerson and Maurice DuBois will anchor “Evening News” from the show’s new home at the CBS Broadcast Center in New York.

CBS News’ chief foreign affairs correspondent and “Face The Nation” host Margaret Brennan is set to anchor political and foreign affairs coverage from Washington D.C.

Lonnie Quinn will lead weather coverage for the program from New York as chief weathercaster.

During her time at “Evening News,” O’Donnell secured interviews with Pope Francis, Oprah Winfrey, Dolly Parton, Benjamin Netanyahu and Hillary Clinton. She’s also interviewed every living U.S. president.

Leading up to the presidential election, O’Donnell co-moderated the vice presidential debate with Margaret Brennan and had a sit-down interview with Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris.

Craig Melvin Makes faces a barrage of criticism from ‘Today’ fans for his Mistake On-Air During Latest Episode After Replacing Hoda Kotb

Craig Melvin Makes Mistake On-Air During ‘Today’ Episode After Replacing Hoda Kotb: ‘Oops’

Craig Melvin had a small blip on-air during an episode of Today after Hoda Kotb’s exit from the show.

The newscaster was taking on his anchor duties on the morning of January 31 when he said, “Stay tuned for Today With Hoda & Jenna.” Quickly, he realized that the show no longer goes by that title since Hoda, 60, departed the program on January 10.

Craig, 45, then corrected himself, saying, “Oops, force of habit, Jenna & Friends.” Today’s fourth hour was renamed Today With Jenna & Friends and Jenna Bush Hager has been welcoming celebrity guest cohosts on the show since Hoda left.

Hoda decided to leave the show and fans were devastated, but so happy for her in this new chapter in her life with daughters Haley and Hope. The NBC personality admitted that leaving the program was something she had been thinking about for a little while.

“It was something that was nestled in the way-back of my mind, and especially with my kids and the ages they are, I thought about it on days that were long or days that I missed things,” Hoda told Marie Claire in an interview last month. “When you’re in love with something, it’s like, why would you ever break up with someone you’re in love with? It doesn’t make any sense to do that. But I realized that there are phases of life, and the Today show and NBC has been my longest relationship of any I’ve ever had. I wanted to see what kind of possibilities were available to me beyond this incredible job.”

Hoda said that her 60th birthday on August 9, 2024, was the big turning point that made her realize it was her time to leave the show.

“It was like a rocket ship. I looked outside, I looked out at the plaza, and I just knew,” the mom of two explained. “This is the mountaintop. This is the top of the wave. I’ve reached the pinnacle. And I just knew. I thought to myself, It’s time for the next wave, whatever it is.”

Craig was named as Hoda’s replacement in the show’s early morning hours next to Savannah Guthrie, but a permanent fourth-hour cohost has yet to be named. So far, Jenna, 43, has been doing a fantastic job leading the fourth hour while sitting alongside guest cohosts like Wynonna JuddCiaraScarlett Johansson and more in each episode.

“It’s just wild — just the fact that these A-list of stars who could be doing anything want to be sitting on our set is a testament to the show and to what we’ve built,” Jenna reflected on the show’s new format.

Even though Hoda is no longer part of the Today crew, Jenna’s got a great team of people backing her before she heads out onto the stage each day.

“Now, there’s this trepidation — ‘I’m doing this show by myself.’ But I’m not doing it alone,” the former first daughter said. “We have this incredible team. And I honestly mean that, and I’m going to need them.”
