He’s now the current longest-serving host of a game show that’s in syndication. Pat Sajak previously held that title until he retired from Wheel of Fortune earlier this month.

Fans are wondering about the future of The Price is Right. The game show has become a staple in daytime television. Drew carried on the role from the late Bob Barker. Red on to see what he had to say about his role.

    Drew Carey – Celebrates Milestone

The comedian has been the host of The Price is Right for 17 years. Drew Carey sat down for an exclusive interview with TV Insider about this milestone. He took on the role after Bob Barker retired in 2007. Drew quickly fit into the role and fans fell in love with him.

It’s hard to see The Price is Right without Drew Carey at the helm. In the interview, he admitted that he had big shoes to fill. Drew wasn’t sure if he could take on the hosting gig. But it’s clear that he has a lot of fun with it.

The Price is Right fans shared their thoughts on the matter. Many of them proclaim that Drew fits the role perfectly. They think he brings a different attitude to the show. While Bob loved giving away prizes and hugging fans, Drew brought his humor and positive attitude.

He also carried on Bob’s legacy by reminding viewers to get their “pets spayed and neutered.” Drew would change his closing statement throughout the years. He also tells fans to take care of themselves and to look out for one another.

The Price Is Right Contract Details Revealed

Drew Carey spoke to TV Insider about his future on the show. He revealed his plans for retirement. It’s hard to believe, but the actor is 66 years old. Drew still feels young and has no intentions on retiring.

“I just show up and punch the clock and hope I have a job every day,” Drew said. “I do have a goal: I want to keep going until I die. This is my 18th season. I’ve got to get to 35 and 41, so I can catch Bob Parker and Pat Sajak.”

This is the longest that Drew Carey has been part of a television show. His previous series was The Drew Carey Show, which he was on for nine years.

Drew admits he “can’t imagine giving it up” since this gig is “just a great part of my day.” He revealed that his next contract negotiation isn’t for the next few years.

The Price is Right host Drew Carey is a comedian, so he knows when someone says something that is truly funny. This includes when the jokes are aimed directly at him. This happened on an episode of the game show this week when a PhD student was playing the game.

Here is what the student said to Carey and why it had him almost falling over laughing.

PhD Student Bashes Drew Carey On The Price Is Right

On a recent episode of The Price is Right, Drew Carey brought a new contestant named Lillian Brown to the stage. He saw she was wearing a Northwestern University shirt and asked if she had graduated from that college. She responded she was a third-year PhD student there.
Drew Carey - YouTube/The Price Is RightYouTube/The Price Is Right
Drew seemed very impressed as he repeated, “Oh, a PhD student.” He then looked at Lillian and said he was thrown out of college twice. “What’s the opposite of a PhD?” he asked. Without missing a beat, Lillian answered, “A talk show host.”

That caused Drew Carey to start cracking up as he bent over laughing. He responded, “You know what? I’m not smart enough to be a talk show host.” Lillian and the audience in attendance joined Carey in laughing, and it was a lighthearted moment in the episode. Before The Price is Right, Drew starred on The Drew Carey Show and then hosted Whose Line Is It Anyway?

Drew Carey attended Kent State University, but the school kicked him out for a low GPA. He served in the Marine Corps Reserve and eventually became a TV star. Kent State eventually gave Carey an honorary degree.

Drew Carey Sent A Contestant Home Later On The Same Show

While this was a nice moment, later in the show, Drew Carey cost a contestant a chance to move to the final round. This happened during the Big Wheel spin round of The Price is Right.
Drew Carey on The Price is RightDrew Carey on The Price is Right | YouTube
The goal is to spin the wheel twice and get closest to 100 without going over. However, the wheel has to go a full rotation. There was a moment in the past when a woman couldn’t get it to go around after multiple tries, so she was just eliminated on the spot.

In this episode, a contestant named Roni Gardner struggled to spin the Big Wheel. Her first spin landed on 90, but Drew pointed out it didn’t do a full spin. Drew helped her spin it and it landed on 15. Drew then helped again, and it hit 95, sending the contestant home.

“I’ll take the blame for that. Roni, I’m so sorry,” Carey said as she left.

What are your thoughts on Drew Carey’s reaction to the PhD comment by Lillian on The Price is Right? Are you enjoying Carey as the host of the popular game show? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.

Now the truth about Vanna and Ryan’s feud is revealed as they prepare for the new season

‘Wheel Of Fortune’ Truth About Vanna White & Ryan Seacrest Feud

Vanna White & Ryan Seacrest - Live

After Ryan Seacrest took over the hosting position for Wheel Of Fortune, there were whispers of things not working well between him and Vanna White. But now the truth about Vanna and Ryan’s feud is revealed as they prepare for the new season.

Vanna White And Ryan Seacrest Have Trouble In Paradise?

Although some long-time fans are concerned Ryan Seacrest isn’t the man for the job when it comes to stepping into Pat Sajak’s shoes, others are open to see how it goes. Directly after Ryan began filming, news came out that there was already trouble in paradise with Vanna White. Seemingly, she was regretting not retiring at the same time as Pat because there were difficulties with the new host behind the scenes. Likewise, there has been discussion of Kim Kardashian being at the top of the list of replacements for Vanna.

Truth About Vanna White & Ryan Seacrest Feud

Even with the rumors of the new host struggling to mesh with Vanna White, now Ryan Seacrest wants to put the speculation to bed. On Ryan’s Instagram page, he is sitting next to Vanna White on a couch. In front of the two cohosts is a black mystery box with “RSTLNE” on the lid, the default letters given to contestants when solving a bonus round puzzle. As they open the box, they unveil the miniature Wheel Of Fortune game. In a fun play on the game, Ryan reveals in the caption: “Ryan Seacrest to Launch New Era.” With each of the first letters highlighted. Further adding, “We’re so excited for this New Era of Wheel.” Instead of the friction depicted previously, the two are smiling and portray a friendly fun relationship together.

One user comments, “No offence to Ryan but those are big shoes to fill. I will miss Pat no matter what Ryan does.”
“I am sure Ryan will-be great 👏❤️. But Pat will be missed dearly. 🥲.”
Some fans talk about legends like Alex Trebek, Bob Barker, and Pat Sajak being missed. Another person says, “I know. We should never forget those who led the way.”

Fans Add Their Thoughts In The Comments

After Ryan Seacrest showed the lovable moment between him and Vanna White, several fans gave their thoughts in the comments.

“Wishing everyone the best of luck on the new season.”
“Ryan will just be his own lovable self and do a great job on Wheel! No one can fill Pat Sajak’s legendary shoes, but there’s no need to!! Each are legends in their own ways!! But Ryan will do Pat proud, just like he did Dick Clark proud.”
“Ryan will attract a whole new audience watching this show. That’s a good thing.”
“If Ken Jennings can do it on Jeopardy, Ryan has this in the bad. I think Ken is Terrific on Jeopardy. Ryan will be equally terrific hosting Wheel.”
“Ryan: You will be an awesome host and you’ll be great with Vanna!! Cannot wait for the new season!! Keep the insider pics coming!”
“Everything you do Ryan is great. Can’t wait to see the new season.”

Hard Transitions For Ryan Seacrest And Vanna White

While many of the comments are encouraging Ryan Seacrest as he takes the reigns with Vanna White to support him, others aren’t sure it will work out. When the promo for Wheel Of Fortune‘s new season dropped, some fans weren’t impressed. Ryan says, “I can’t wait to get to work.” In a megaphone, Vanna coaches Ryan into shape for the new season, saying, “Let’s get you ready for fall.” The caption read: “Ryan’s building his Wheel-spinning muscles – one brick at a time.” Although it was a funny take on getting Ryan ready, not everyone enjoyed it.

But one fan can’t believe Ryan was the pick, “What a poor choice!”
“I can’t believe I can never watch wheel of fortune again…”
    “Seacrest is so bland.”
    “I won’t be watching.”
However, someone else believes in Ryan, “Pat Sajak left some huge shoes to fill. I wish Ryan Seacrest the best of luck in this new role! Y’all gotta remember, everyone is new at something at some point.”

ABC will open up the lifelines once more this summer.

The network has greenlit a new season of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire that will air starting July 10. The new run will coincide with the game show’s 25th anniversary on ABC; it premiered on Aug. 16, 1999.

About Who Wants To Be A Millionaire TV Show Series

Jimmy Kimmel, who hosted the last Millionaire revival on ABC in 2020 and 2021, will return to the host’s chair once again. The show will feature pairs of celebrities playing to win up to $1 million for charities of their choosing.

Who Wants to Be a Millionaire is part of an ABC summer lineup that also includes The Bachelorette (July 8), Celebrity Family Feud (July 9), Claim to Fame (July 10), Judge Steve Harvey (July 16), Press Your Luck (July 18), and a new game show called Lucky 13 (July 18), co-hosted by Gina Rodriguez and Shaquille O’Neal. The network will also air the ESPY Awards on July 11.

Adapted from a British game show, Who Wants to Be a Millionaire was hosted by Regis Philbin and became an instant phenomenon after it debuted on ABC (it’s responsible for establishing the aesthetic of dramatic lighting and music featured in scores of game shows since then).

It drew huge ratings — peaking at 35.9 million viewers for an episode in May 2000 — and aired as many as five nights a week at one point during its initial run. It eventually became too much of a good thing, however, and a sharp drop in viewers led to its cancellation as a regular series in 2002.

ABC revived Millionaire for a 10th anniversary run of episodes in 2009 and then again in 2020, with Kimmel stepping in as host for the most recent run. A syndicated version of the show also ran from 2001-19.

Sony Pictures Television’s Embassy Row and Kimmelot produce Millionaire, with Michael Davies and Kimmel executive producing.

‘The Drew Barrymore Show’ Gets Early Season 6 Renewal, Keeping It Going Through At Least 2026

    Drew Barrymore Show scam

    Ashley Bean

“The Drew Barrymore Show” is locked to continue through at least 2026. The syndicated daytime talker, which premieres its Season 5 on Sept. 9, has just been given an early Season 6 greenlight by CBS’ owned-and-operated stations — which takes the show through the 2025-2026 TV season.

The news was announced Thursday by Wendy McMahon, president and CEO of CBS News and Stations and CBS Media Ventures. CBS Media Ventures previously announced this fall’s Season 5 pickup in January.

“Drew is a one-of-a-kind talent who is an integral part of the CBS and Paramount family,” McMahon said. “This early renewal and upgrades are a testament to our commitment to ‘The Drew Barrymore Show’ and its loyal audience, who tune in every day to see Drew’s warmth, inquisitiveness and spontaneity.”

The Drew Barrymore Show' Snags Season 6 Renewal | www.lovebscott.com

The news also comes as “The Drew Barrymore Show” has received time slot upgrades in seven of the nation’s top 20 markets, the distribber said. That includes new spots on CBS stations in six markets, as well as a new station and better time slot in Houston.

“Over the last few seasons, stations have realized that ‘The Drew Barrymore Show’ is like no other series in daytime, bringing Drew’s brand of positivity and ad-friendly content to viewers on a consistent basis,” McMahon added. “Many of these upgrades now pair ‘Drew’ with a ‘CBS Mornings’ lead-in, which has proven to be a powerful combination. This season, in markets where ‘Drew’ airs at 9 a.m., its ratings are 21% higher among total viewers when ‘CBS Mornings’ is the lead-in.”

The renewal comes following this year’s format change, in which “The Drew Barrymore Show” was reconstructed as two half-hour episodes that stations could run together back-to-back or be split apart to air separately.

In many cases, that restores “Drew Barrymore Show” back to a full hour. In 2022, CBS Media Ventures gave stations the option of airing a half-hour version of the talker. That meant some CBS stations, like New York’s WCBS, launched a new half-hour local newscast from 9 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., serving as a lead-in to the first half-hour of “The Drew Barrymore Show.”

The Drew Barrymore Show' Renewed for Season 6

The show is still being produced as 30 minute blocks, where stations can run episodes back to back or split them up. But now, “Drew Barrymore Show” will once again air as an hour block at 9 a.m., leading out of “CBS Mornings,” on WCBS New York, KTVT Dallas and WBZ Boston. The show has also been moved to a full hour at 3 p.m. on KYW Philadelphia, KPIX San Francisco and WFOR Miami. And in Houston, the show has been moved to NBC affil KPRC at 10 a.m.

According to CBS Media Ventures, “The Drew Barrymore Show” is averaging 1.1 million viewers, growing viewership by 8% in the first quarter of 2024 over the prior quarter. The show, which originates from New York, is distributed by CBS Media Ventures and filmed in New York City. Drew Barrymore and Jason Kurtz are executive producers.

  • What happened to ‘CBS Saturday Morning’ anchor Jeff Glor After Leaving Amid Layoffs

What happened to ‘CBS Saturday Morning’ anchor Jeff Glor After Leaving Amid Layoffs

What happened to ‘CBS Saturday Morning’ anchor Jeff Glor?

Viewers tuning in to “CBS Saturday Morning” Oct. 5, 2024, likely noticed Jeff Glor was missing from the anchor desk.

That’s because Glor was laid off by CBS in late September 2024.

Glor’s last show was Sept. 28, 2024, giving him a chance to bid farewell to viewers.

His job was cut as part of a larger restructuring by Paramount Global, the owner of CBS, which is preparing itself to be acquired by Skydance Media. The company is carrying a heavy debt load and had previously announced plans to cut positions.

There’s no word on what Glor might do next or if he’s remaining in the broadcast business.

Meanwhile, CBS has kept Glor’s former co-anchors Dana Jacobson and Michelle Miller on the show. It’s not immediately clear if she the Saturday show will proceed with only two anchors or if a third might be added later.

The weekday edition of the network’s morning show, known as “CBS Mornings,” has three anchors, Gayle King, Tony Dokupil and Nate Burleson.

Jeff Glor, who anchored the CBS Evening News for two years before co-hosting CBS Saturday Morning, is leaving CBS News amid a wave of layoffs, according to a report from Puck News‘ Dylan Byers. (TVLine has reached out to CBS for a statement.)

Glor is currently a co-host of CBS Saturday Morning, along with Dana Jacobson and Michelle Miller, a position he’s held since June 2019. Glor also serves as a CBS News special correspondent, traveling the world to report on breaking news stories on location. He has interviewed dozens of authors as well as part of the show’s extensive book coverage.

Glor has been with CBS News since 2007, first serving as a reporter and anchor and filing reports for CBS Sunday Morning and The Early Show, which was later rebooted as CBS This Morning. In December 2017, Glor became the anchor of the CBS Evening News, taking over for Scott Pelley. Glor was then replaced in June 2019, with 60 Minutes correspondent Norah O’Donnell taking his place in the anchor’s chair. That same month, he joined CBS Saturday Morning as a co-host.

Glor’s exit comes along with an extensive series of layoffs at Paramount Global, the parent company of CBS News. Will you miss him on CBS? Hit the comments to share your thoughts on the news.

Norah O’Donnell said farewell to “CBS This Morning” Thursday.

O’Donnell, 45, has been a co-anchor of the broadcast since 2012. She will join “CBS Evening News,” as the anchor and managing editor, replacing Jeff Glor. In addition, she will serve as lead anchor for political events and contribute to “60 Minutes.”

Norah O'Donnell QUITS CBS Evening News for new role after 12 years as network anchor as she pens emotional farewell letter | Daily Mail Online

During her on-air departure, the morning show aired a video that included a montage of O’Donnell’s interviews – including snippets of chats with the Dalai Lama, Prince Harry and James Taylor – and warm wishes from her parents and kids.

“Can’t wait to have a before-school-breakfast,” her son Henry told her.

Fellow journalists like Anderson Cooper and Robin Roberts also shared kind words, as did the hosts of evening news programs for NBC and ABC, Lester Holt and David Muir, respectively.

The compilation moved O’Donnell to tears.

“The best is yet to come. I think that’s for all of us at CBS News,” she said.

Acknowledging her co-hosts, she added: “We’ve made news, we’ve been in the news, but we’ve also made friendships. This is the greatest team on television.”

Turning to the crew, she extended her appreciation. “You know how much I love all of you.”

“What you should know is we are cheering you on,” said Gayle King, who will remain on “This Morning” with new hosts Anthony Mason, a senior national correspondent and CBS veteran, and Tony Dokoupil.

Norah O'Donnell Of CBS News' Dramatic Transformation

Earlier this month, news broke that she and John Dickerson would be leaving the program as part of a series of sweeping changes at the network. Dickerson has been tapped for “60 Minutes” and will also have a role in election specials.

When the news was revealed on “This Morning,” O’Donnell said she would put all she had into her new position.

“I was looking through some things that Walter Cronkite said, and he said, ‘I can’t imagine a person becoming a success in life without giving everything they’ve got.’ And so I’m gonna give this everything I’ve got.”

O’Donnell will be only the third female solo anchor of a network evening newscast, following ABC’s Diane Sawyer and former CBS anchor Katie Couric,

The changes mark the first big moves by Susan Zirinsky, who became CBS News’ first female president in March. (A fourth “Morning” co-anchor, Bianna Golodryga, was relieved of her duties in April after a six-month stint and exercised an option to exit the network).

Norah O'Donnell extends CBS News contract: reports

She is aiming to reverse the fortunes of CBS’ cellar-dwelling “Evening News” and “This Morning” telecasts, which for years have lagged behind NBC and ABC in a distant third place, even as CBS leads them in overall primetime audience. Ratings for both broadcasts have suffered in the wake of recent changes: Charlie Rose’s 2017 exit from “This Morning” in the wake of sexual misconduct allegations, and the naming of Glor, also in 2017, to succeed Scott Pelley.

‘CBS Mornings’ host Gayle King slammed after noting lack of ‘people of color’ at Trump inauguration

“CBS Mornings” co-host Gayle King sparked controversy after questioning why there weren’t “many people of color” during President Trump’s inauguration ceremony on Monday.

The anchor made the remark while offering commentary on the swearing-in ceremony as politicians, Supreme Court judges and dignitaries filtered into the US Capitol Rotunda.

“I do not see many people of color. Does anybody else besides me observe that?” King said. “I’m fascinated by why that is?”

Norah O’Donnell, who anchored the network’s coverage, then noted that the inauguration coincided with Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day before listing some prominent black leaders in attendance.

Megyn Kelly, the former Fox News primetime star, was among several critics who slammed King for her observation.

“Gayle King on cbs is questioning why there aren’t more ‘ppl of color’ at the inauguration. Of course,” the host of SiriusXM’s “The Megyn Kelly Show” wrote on X.

Aidan Kearney, a Trump-backing commentator, wrote: “The fact that this is the first thing you’re looking for is exactly why this guy is about to be inaugurated again.”

Tony Bruno, a former ESPN sports radio talk show host, wrote on X: “Watching your morning show (which very few do) what is the racial breakdown of your staff?”

Others, however, supported King’s point, noting that the audience was overwhelmingly white, including high-profile figures like tech billionaires Mark Zuckerberg, Jeff Bezos and Elon Musk.

A spokesperson for CBS declined to comment.

Among the people of color present at the inauguration were former President Barack Obama, former Vice President Kamala Harris, Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson and House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY).

Vice President JD Vance’s wife, Usha, a daughter of Indian immigrants, also attended.

One person who decided to skip the event was Michelle Obama, fueling ongoing speculation about her views on Trump and recent rumors regarding her marriage to the 44th president.

Trump used his inaugural address to proclaim the beginning of a “new golden age of America.”
