The Price Is Right fans will surely want to “come on down” and check out the next couple of weeks of new episodes because the final installment of Season 52 is coming sooner than you might think.

This season of The Price Is Right marked its first at its new location at Haven Studios in Glendale, California, after 51 years of being taped at Television City’s Bob Barker Studio 33 in Hollywood. The season first premiered on Monday, September 25, 2023, and after almost 200 episodes, the season will end on Friday, June 28.

When Does 'The Price Is Right' Return With New Season 52 Episodes?

The Price Is Right is expected to return to regular airings in the fall at CBS. Additionally, the eye network has announced that The Price Is Right at Night will return during the midseason as well.

The game show has been on the air since September 4, 1972, and has been hosted by Drew Carey ever since 2007, when Bob Barker decided to retire from his iconic place on the stage.

Carey has since indicated that, unlike Barker, who died at the age of 99 last August, he has no intentions of retiring from the show: “I’ll say, for the record, I wanna die on stage with a microphone in my hand,” he told Entertainment Tonight in May. “I think Bob made a mistake by retiring. I’m not gonna make that same mistake. As long as my heart is ticking and they want me to be on the show, I think I’m gonna do The Price is Right. I just love it. I think I was made for it.”

    Price Is Right

Price Is Right shocked fans when it was suddenly taken off the air. This is one of the most popular game shows of all time. So, it has a lot of fans that look forward to the new episodes. When people realized it was not a new episode being played, people freaked out. What happened to the popular game show? Keep reading to find out more.

    Drew Carey Makes Mistake

Drew Carey made a big mistake on an episode of Price Is Right. This occurred on July 3. Barabra was playing the game, pocket change. When playing, she correctly guesses to win the car. She also got the second question correct. During this, Drew would usually tell the contestant to go grab a card to see their winning change. However, he forgot to this time. Barbara rolled her eyes and joked:

“You weren’t going to let me have a card were you?”

However, this was just Drew forgetting to tell her to get the card. Good thing she remembered. Otherwise, she may not have received it.

Price Is Right Was Suddenly Taken Off  The Air

Fans were shocked when they saw Drew Carey come out in a wrestling costume. This was because it was a rerun of a Halloween episode. They immediately questioned if the show was taken off the air.

    “What is happening?”
“Is the show done for a while?”
“Did I miss somewhere in the last episode an announcement about a break or an off-season until episodes start airing again?”
“Noticed some repeat episodes. Probably off for summer break. They do it every year,”]
“The Price is Right always takes the summer off. Season 53 will begin late September or early October.”
“The last new episode of the season was July 4,”

It was a good thing some of the other fans clarified that they were just taking a break from the show like they do every year. Some fans got worried there for a minute. However, the show is not over and there will be more to come later in the year.

It seems the reason there was not a new episode was due to the break they take every summer. Fans were nervous at first. However, they realized they take a break every year and this was just another one of those. People are happy to hear that their favorite game show is not going away anytime soon. What do you think about this? Sound off in the comments below.

Price Is Right Removed From Daytime, What Happened?

The Price Is Right has been a mainstay on daytime television for decades. The game show premiered in 1956 with host Bill Cullen and was rebooted in 1972 with legend Bob Barker.

Drew Carey has hosted the program since 2007. Normally, the show takes a break during the summer. However, fans were shocked when it was removed from the lineup without warning. Keep on reading to learn more.

Price Is Right – Fans Shocked By Bold Move

The Price Is Right fans are upset with CBS. The show was removed from daytime without notice. The mix up happened shortly after fans were upset over the lack of episodes. On Monday, July 8, viewers witnessed host Drew Carey in a wrestling costume and were confused.

Price Is Right Removed From Daytime, What Happened?

CBS aired a rerun of the 2023 Halloween special. But most fans didn’t understand what was going on. Most of them took to X, formerly Twitter, to react to the rerun. “What is happening?” one fan asked.

The Price Is Right fans also reacted to Monday’s episode on Reddit. Most of them were confused over seeing Drew Carey in costume. But the game show typically airs reruns after the Fourth of July.

“Is the show done for a while? Did I miss somewhere in the last episode of an announcement about a break or an off-season until episodes start airing again?” one fan asked.

“Noticed some repeat episodes. Probably off for a summer break. They do it every year,” one user responded.

“The Price is Right always takes the summer off. Season 53 will begin late September or early October. The last episode of the season was July 4,” another user commented.

Drew Carey – Makes Huge Mistake

Until Season 53 premieres in fall, Price Is Right fans will see reruns on weekdays. In a latest episode, Drew Carey made a huge mistake. A contestant named Barbara played a game called “Pockcet Change.” She had to guess the price of a Chevy to win it.

Barbara got the second number right. However, Drew forgot one of the rules. He didn’t tell her to grab a card from the wall to collect her winning change. When she walked up to the board, she rolled her eyes and looked at the audience.

“You weren’t going to let me have a card, were you?” she sarcastically asked.

“No, I was! You’re just doing so well I blanked,” he said.

Drew Carey was recently accused of picking favorites and allowing those contestants to win. What are your thoughts on the show being pulled from daytime?

Share your thoughts below in the comment section. The Price Is Right typically airs weekdays in the daytime. Nighttime specials air on Wednesdays.

From Drew Carey to Pat Sajak and iconic predecessors such as Bob Barker, game show hosts are supposed to engage in witty banter with contestants to keep things interesting. But Drew Carey decided to give things a more personal touch during an episode of “The Price is Right,” in 2024 by talking to a contestant about marriage. Things went in that direction because the contestant happened to be named Carey Klingfas, which was somewhat similar to the host’s name. It was an unexpected coincidence and being the humorous individual that he is, the host took full advantage of the situation. “I love your name,” he said when he saw the name tag. Carey also added, “If we got married, we’d be Drew Carey Carey Klingfas.” This comment drew laughter from the crowd and even the guest seemed to blush a little as per TV Insider.
Screenshot of Carey Klingfas on Screenshot of Carey Klingfas on “The Price is Right” (Image source: Instagram | @therealpriceisright)
He then asked announcer George Gray to reveal what the contestant would be competing for. “Well, it’s a fun trip for you two love birds,” Gray said adding to the joke, while describing a trip to Playa del Carmen. All Klingfas had to do was guess the price of the package correctly. He played the Freeze Frame game and correctly guessed the price, $7,695 to win the big prize.

The clip, which was uploaded to Instagram with the caption, “Two Careys are better than one” has received more than 1500 likes and some comments from fans congratulating the lucky winner.

When Contestants With The Same Name Confused “The Price is Right” Viewers

Such coincidences involving names aren’t only seen on “Wheel of Fortune,” since two people with similar names also made it to “The Price is Right” stage. This happened during a 2004 episode of the show, when the well known Bob Barker was the host. Here it wasn’t the host with whom a contestant share the same name, but instead two contestants had the exact same name.

The show’s announcer had called down one Edward Middlewick from the crowd on the episode and two people ran down the stairs to make their way onto the stage. One was in a red T-shirt while the other was in blue. It was a bit confusing for everyone involved at the moment, even the host. “Now wait, wait. We’ve got two of them here,” Barker said.

The man in blue took his place on the stage after it was confirmed that he was indeed the right person. As the announcer enunciated the last name one more time, the Edward in red realized his mistake and promptly made his way back up to his seat. Barker saw this as a humorous moment and made a timely joke to make the audience chuckle. “He got to come on down further than he would have otherwise you see,” the host said.

Craig Melvin had the best surprise in store for him on his first day as a Today co-anchor.

The dad of two, 45, got emotional when his wife Lindsay Czarniak and their two kids — son Delano, 10, and daughter Sybil, 8 — walked out on set to surprise him for his first day as an official Today co-anchor. His family was followed by his parents, Lawrence and Betty Jo, as well as his brother Ryan.

“When I left this morning, you were all in bed!” Melvin said.

“We faked it,” Czarniak admitted, laughing.

Delano sat beside his dad, with the father-son matching in navy suits. “Oh, you got a microphone, buddy,” Melvin said to Delano, who responded, “I’m professional!”

Melvin took over for Hoda Kotb, who celebrated her last day at Today on Friday, Jan. 10.

“He’s a great dad, and he deserves to be here today,” Delano said of his dad on the show, causing Melvin to tear up and give him a big hug.

WHEEL of Fortune has $h0ckingly opted to replace Vanna White; a source has now claimed why

Wheel of Fortune reveals ‘real reason’ Vanna White will be ‘replaced’ amid beloved host’s bitter battle for salary raise

WHEEL of Fortune has shockingly opted to replace Vanna White for a week of upcoming episodes; a source has now claimed why.

The iconic letter-turner is in the midst of unresolved contract negotiations to get higher pay amid host Pat Sajak’s upcoming retirement.

Vanna, 66, will miss a few episodes of Wheel of Fortune this fall, Puck News reported.

Vanna apparently contracted Covid-19 in late July while Wheel was filming its annual Teachers Week, which is scheduled to air in October.

Instead of halting production, producers decided to bring in a sub.

They contacted Teacher of the Year recipient, Bridgette Donald-Blue, to replace Vanna at the letter board for the week of episodes.

Vanna’s absence from the show will be her first in nearly 30 years.

But a source told TV Line the beloved game show had no choice in not waiting for Vanna to recuperate.

    ‘NOT FEASIBLE TO RESCHEDULE’

The insider explained on Friday that production on Teachers Week was forced to continue without Vanna because of the set-in-stone schedule.

They shared: “Teachers had already arrived in L.A. to tape the episodes and, with the academic school year starting, it was not feasible to reschedule that day.”

Five episodes – or a week’s worth- are taped in a single day.

The source continued: “In keeping with the Teachers Week theme, Bridgette Donald-Blue graciously agreed fill in for Vanna for those five episodes.”

That said, Wheel was able to keep Vanna on the board for the second tape day of the special.

Wheel rescheduled the following day’s taping to accommodate Vanna’s absence.

Thus, Vanna will be out for one week’s worth of episodes but not the entire two-week stretch.

TV Line contacted Sony, Wheel’s parent company, who declined to comment.

VANNA LAWYERS UP FOR ‘FAIR PAY’

The news comes, however, as Vanna is reportedly in tense contract negations, hoping to get her first reported raise in 18 years.

Longtime host Pat, 76, recently announced he will retire in June 2024 after 40 years of hosting.

Ryan Seacrest, 48, will take over for him after the end of next season, marking the end of an era and the start of a new one.

Vanna is demanding a well-earned pay bump as she reportedly makes half of what Pat makes now.

Sources told People: “50 percent of Pat’s salary is so outrageous that no one in their right mind could say that it’s fair.

“The negotiation is asking for much more than 50 percent of his salary. It’s asking for the same pay – if not more.”

In a resurfaced interview with Esquire, Vanna once claimed that she “worked harder” than her co-host.

“My position is much more, what’s the word? I work a lot harder,” joked Vanna at the time. “I’ve walked thousands of miles. And he didn’t have to do that. In my heels, no less.”

Vanna hired high-powered lawyer Bryan Friedman to negotiate two deals – one for Celebrity Wheel of Fortune and the other for the long-running syndicated show, according to TMZ.

Negotiations for the syndicated program have reportedly halted due to the Writers Guild of America strike.

But an insider told the outlet: “It’s gonna get ugly if Sony doesn’t get more serious.”

Meanwhile, for her new contract for Celebrity Wheel of Fortune, the 66-year-old star will receive a “meaningful bump” and is expected to make $100,000 per episode.

Pat reportedly makes $400,000 an episode.

This comes as TMZ previously confirmed that Vanna makes about $3million a year overall.

Pat reportedly makes about $15million a year overall, according to the outlet.

Negotiations between Vanna and Sony have become “very difficult,” an insider close to the situation also told TMZ.

Another source claimed the hostess “feels like it’s a statement for all women” and is reportedly negotiating for “a minimum of what is fair.”

However, a source has told People that the previous report from TMZ was inaccurate, including the claim that Vanna accepted an offer of $100,000 per episode to continue the show’s Celebrity edition.

    RARELY OFF THE BOARD

Vanna has only been away from the show three times in history.

In 1986, her predecessor Susan Stafford returned while Vanna grieved the death of her boyfriend, John Gibson, after a tragic plane crash, per People.

The second time was when Tricia Gist took over during Vanna’s two-week honeymoon with ex-husband George San Pietro in 1991- with whom Vanna shares her two children.

Tricia stepped in once more that year when Vanna contracted a cold.

On two occasions, Pat’s daughter, Maggie, has taken on puzzle duties but Vanna was still on-screen.

One was in 2019 during her father’s surgery recovery – Vanna hosted.

The other was in 2023 for Celebrity Wheel and Vanna competed.

Season 41 of Wheel premieres on Sept. 11 and will be Pat’s last.

Wheel of Fortune’s opens up about her emotions regarding Pat Sajak’s Daughter filling her spot on the show

Why Wheel of Fortune‘s Vanna White Thinks Pat Sajak’s Daughter Is a “Good Replacement” for Her

As Pat Sajak prepares to say goodbye to Wheel of Fortune, Vanna White exclusively shared with E! News how the host’s 28-year-old daughter Maggie Sajak could be her “replacement” one day.

It’s no puzzle: Vanna White is a fan of Maggie Sajak.

In fact, the Wheel of Fortune star believes the 28-year-old, who is currently serving as the game show’s social media correspondent, is ready to step up and handle the puzzle board as her dad Pat Sajak prepares to retire as host after four decades.

“I think she’s a good replacement if I can’t be there for some reason,” Vanna told E! News’ Francesca Amiker during an exclusive interview about her Wheel of Fortune-inspired makeup collection with Laura Geller Beauty. “She’s been around it her whole life, so I think she can fill in for me for sure.”

Wheel of Fortune' co-host Vanna White considered retiring with Pat Sajak: 'What am I going to do?' | Fox News

The 66-year-old also noted that Pat’s signature charm has certainly “rubbed off” on Maggie, who turned letters on the puzzle board earlier this year when Vanna was a contestant on an episode of Celebrity Wheel of Fortune. “She’s precious, she’s beautiful, she’s very good,” Vanna raved of Maggie. “I think she learned a lot from her father because he’s such a good interviewer.”

The Vanna Speaks author added, “I think she’s good for our show.”

Pat, 76, announced his plans to leave Wheel of Fortune in June, sharing that “the time has come” as the long-running series’ 41st season would be his last. Ryan Seacrest was soon named his successor, with Vanna extending her contract through to what would be the radio host’s first season of the show.

So, how does Vanna feel about this changing of the guards? “There’s definitely sadness and it is absolutely bittersweet for me,” she shared, joking that she’s grown “very attached” to Pat due to their 41-year working relationship. “It’s going to be really hard for me after all these years.”

However, that’s not to say Vanna isn’t excited to see Ryan’s spin at hosting Wheel of Fortune. As she noted, “He is a kind man. He is professional. He’s good at what he does. He likes to have fun.”

“He even said to me, ‘I’m not trying to replace Pat by any means. I just want to go in and do a good job,’” Vanna shared. “So, that’s what he’s going to do and I think he’s going to be just fine.”

And at the end of the day, all Vanna wants is for Wheel of Fortune to be remembered as “one of the best shows on TV.”

“I don’t mean that in an egotistical way,” she said, explaining how the show has continued to provide comfort at times of “craziness” in the world. “There’s so much drama everywhere. You turn on Wheel of Fortune and you get half hour of family fun.”

Appearing on a legendary show like Wheel of Fortune can be a nerve-wracking experience, so any advice and tips a future contestant can get ahead of time is invaluable.

That is the case with one lucky fan who took to the Wheel of Fortune Reddit forum over the weekend to reveal they’re going to be on the show at the end of January. “I am an avid watcher and huge fan of the show and am so excited!” they wrote. “That being said, I am a little nervous. Any tips or advice? Thanks in advance!”

Many fans, including some former Wheel contestants, jumped into the comments section with tips and tricks. One user reminded the future player that the “What Are You Doing?” category contains an “I, N, G” in the answer, so it’s a waste to select “I and G” (the N is already given) in the Bonus Round.

“So many don’t realize this – gives you 2 free letters,” another user agreed.

Another commenter provided an entire list of advice, including useful pointers such as, “Spin as hard as you can. The time the wheel spins is time for you to think” and “The minute you know the answer, solve. Don’t think about making more money, just bank what you can.”

The same user added, “Watch Vanna [White], do not spin the wheel until you see her return to the side of the puzzle board. This is more time for you to think. Once she gets to the side of the board, you have 5 seconds to spin, buy a vowel, or solve, so use the time she walks across to think.”

They also advised focusing on the puzzle board and not looking at the wheel or host Ryan Seacrest. “Just listen to him and keep looking at the puzzle board,” they wrote.

Another solid piece of advice came regarding the prize round, with the user explaining, “Remember the prize puzzle is a trip and has to do with a trip. Sometimes the name of the destination is in the puzzle.”

A former contestant added, “Watch LOTS of Wheel, but watch as a player, not a home viewer. Practice buzzing in on toss-ups, say what moves you would be making out loud as if you were at the wheel (“I’ll spin, I’d like to buy a vowel”, etc).”

They also said to”play the WOF app and do lots of short, simple crosswords or Wordle. It really does help get your mind in puzzle solving mode.”

Another former player agreed, writing, “The WOF app actually did help me prepare quite a bit.  I think that’s why I did so well on the toss ups!”

One past player said to use the time at the wheel when it’s not your turn to study the puzzle. “In this sense the real game is easier than at home, because you can stare at the puzzle and work it MUCH more,” they wrote. “Work the puzzle and think through which letters you’re going to call. This advice was given to me by a contestant it proved to be really helpful.”

Another past contestant said, “Get a good night sleep the night before. It’s a looooong day. Remember to have fun.. the money is nice but ham it up a little, your family and friends will love it.”

Time will tell if this advice pays off for the future contestant.

“This tournament will likely move; however, we have not been given any information about new dates as of yet.

“We do hope to see you in the future at a taping of Jeopardy! We apologize for the inconvenience, but hope everyone stays safe,” a memo sent out to attendees said.

Additionally, a source confirmed that sister show Wheel of Fortune, which films on the soundstage directly next to Jeopardy! on the same Sony Studios lot in Culver City, CA, will not be filming this week.

The Sony Pictures Studios lot in Culver City has not yet been evacuated as of Monday morning due to the fires.

However, the lot is just south of the Pacific Palisades – where over 40,000 acres have burned through neighborhoods and nature as the blaze sits at just 15% containment at the time of writing this post.

As nearly every person who resides in Los Angeles has been impacted to some degree by this week’s tragedy, it is also presumed that crew members who work for the show are currently suffering and may not be able to report to work.

Each show employs a large team – with Jeopardy! having around a 40-person production crew that tapes each episode while an additional 75-member-team handles the post-production.

Wheel of Fortune typically employs a total of 100 in-house production personnel, with 60 to 100 local staff joining them for those episodes that are taped on location, according to their website.

Wheel of Fortune host Ryan Seacrest, 50, has been actively promoting various donation sites and resource links on his social media pages.

The TV icon – who has called Los Angeles his home for nearly 30 years – has also been active in sharing emergency fire warnings in hopes to spread safety alerts.

    Jeopardy! Set Secrets

Jeopardy! fans don’t see everything behind the scenes from watching on TV. These hidden set features make the show run smoothly:

Each podium has a hidden riser so that all contestants appear to be the same height.
After each clue is read, signal lights go off around the game board, indicating players can buzz in and respond.
Buzz in too early, and you’re locked out for .25 seconds.
The podiums have a small white light in the lower left corner, which tells Ken Jennings who goes next.
Contrary to popular belief, the player with control doesn’t have a buzzer advantage on the next clue.
To the game board’s left is a scoreboard so the players can see their opponents’ scores.
All contestants must bring three outfits to the studio, but only the host and returning champion change for the next episode.
There are wardrobe rules, including restrictions on busy patterns, solid white, purple (like the background), and logos.
Five episodes are taped in a single day, and sometimes more.
The categories, players (aside from the returning champion), and Final Jeopardy! for a tape day are all drawn randomly to ensure fairness.
Female contestants are asked not to wear makeup, which is applied backstage, and don’t wear mascara because of sweat.
Contestants fill out a questionnaire, and producers select five Q&A topics for the host.
Host Ken isn’t allowed to interact with the contestants until after the game.
Players can request to sit in a chair while competing without question.

Jeopardy! host Ken Jennings has been quieter on social media as Los Angeles continues to try to process and put an end to this week of devastation.

Fire continues to erupt and the smoke is seen billowing dangerously near many neighborhoods and city parts, with firefighters from all over the world rushing to contain the blaze.

Extremely high winds, which are expected to pick up on Tuesday, are also making it tougher to vacate the city.

    NO END IN SIGHT

Fallen debris have blocked many roads along with some still having no power – though thousands are working hard to improve conditions every hour.

New fires have continued to pop up – with countless homes burnt to the ground and leaving 24 people dead as of Monday.

Anyone in the Los Angeles area is asked to remain extra cautious this week as winds will pick up speed on Tuesday, Jan 14th and Wednesday, Jan 15th.

An expansive list of resources to aid humans and animals, as well as an information hub and community connector for LA fire victims, can be found on this guide put together by Mutual Aid Los Angeles Network.

Due to the community coming out in droves to help each other, many shelters had to stop receiving donation items due to being overwhelmed with supplies.

However, they ask that people continue to donate in the coming weeks after the initial shock of this devastation has been processed.
