Antics of contestants on “The Price is Right” are one of the things that make the show entertaining and relatable, but sometimes their joy can be too much for the host and audience alike.

In a rare moment on the show, another person from the audience came down to celebrate with the contestant and they both collapsed to the floor together in front of model Alexis Gaube, who seemed helpless and baffled.

The contestant in question was a woman named Alexandria and she had made it to the final round of the show, which was Showcase Showdown. Her opponent was bidding for a trip to the Seychelles and a car, and the price she guessed was $5,793 less than the actual value of both prizes. This gave Alexandria a chance to seal the deal if she could guess the price of a hot tub and the trip.

Screenshot showing the moment Alexandria realised that she had won Showcase. (Image credit: Instagram | @therealpriceisright)

But unlike a lot of other contestants, she had help. Her mother was in the studio and she was determined to help her daughter out. With her guidance, Alexandria guessed $22,500 as the price of both the trip and the hot tub, and that was only $164 away from the actual price of both prizes.

The rules of the game state that if a contestant guesses an amount within $250 of the actual price of the items, they win both showcases, including the car.

Alexandria rushed over to the location of the car and her mother also made her way onto the stage and hugged her. In their excitement, they fell to the floor while the rest of the people on stage didn’t know what to do as per TV Shows Ace.

“The Price is Right” audience has always been quite helpful to the competitors for decades now. Even when Bob Barker was the host, the people behind the camera never shied away from helping a contestant win big. A contestant named Brenda experienced this nature of the audience as well.

She was playing the Any Number game to win the prize. In this game, there are three rows. The first row had four digits that represented the price of the car. The second row had three digits that represented the price of the teddy bears.

The third row also had three digits that represented a certain amount of cash in a piggy bank. The numbers available were 0 to 9 and no digit repeated itself.

The contestant had to guess a number that appeared in its corresponding box.

The first object with its price revealed was to be awarded to the player. Before guessing every single digit, yubi, Brenda turned to the audience for help.

It took some time and the situation turned tense, but she ultimately revealed the price of the car first thanks to the people in the studio and got what she had wanted the most..

Jack Shannon was picked on the April 29 episode.

After putting in his bid on a DSLR camera, he guessed the closest amount and was picked for the next showcase.

Before beginning the round, Drew, 65, greeted Jack and told viewers that he was there with his father.

“Jack and his father making a living, it’s a family business where they make labels for like wine bottles, beer, paint can, anything you want,” Drew said.

“What’s the weirdest thing you’ve had to make a label for?”

Jack thought about it and came up with octagon bottles.

“Oh wow. What an exciting life Jack leads,” Drew joked, stepping closer to the camera.

Jack laughed nervously and Drew joined in on his laughter.

“Still talking about those octagon bottles,” the host laughed.

They then moved on to the prizes he could get if he won the game.

    DREW’S ENCOUNTER

Jack’s dad, Richard, posted a photo of them waiting to see if they got picked on Reddit.

He told the platform users that Drew came over and shook both of their hands.

Richard said that Drew remembered about his business since his wife had won the day before.

Drew then turned to Jack and asked if he worked for his dad and about going to college.

He didn’t think they would get chosen, but he was wrong.

    ‘NOT FUNNY!’

While most fans expressed their excitement and congratulated Jack for getting on the show, others pointed out that Drew comment was not funny.

“Didn’t like Drew asking what the strangest thing labeled and then laughing at him saying ‘still talking about those octagon bottles,’” one fan said.

“He asked & then laughs & pokes fun about an exciting life. Not nice and not funny!”

“He’s a young guy following his father’s business. Still rude & not funny,” another fan agreed.

“I didn’t like that either. I happened to be just tuning into the show right at that moment, so I did not hear the context. But it was not nice for Drew to poke fun at the young man like that. A joke at a contestant’s expense is never okay,” a third chimed in.

However, other fans defended Drew by saying that he was poking fun at his job and not him.

‘Wheel Of Fortune’ Set Undergoing Another Change?

Wheel Of Fortune Season 40 [Wheel of Fortune | YouTube]

The Wheel of Fortune set is undergoing another change. This comes after they unveiled their new puzzle board and design changes at the start of Season 40. The executive producer teased the upcoming set change in a new behind-the-scenes video shared on social media.

Bellamie Blackstone is excited about what’s to come. She shared the details of the new episodes that will roll out for the remainder of the milestone season. It’s already been a season of highs and lows. Most fans have been mixed on the changes that have taken place on the set.

    Bellamie Blackstone teases new changes

In a new behind-the-scenes interview shared on Twitter, Bellamie announced that Sweetheart Week will return to Wheel of Fortune. This is when couples play together on the game show. This is a big deal since they haven’t had couples on the show since before the pandemic. Teen Week will also make a comeback.

College Week will take place over spring break. Bellamie shared some advice for teens who want to try out for the popular game show. She feels that those who are good with words should apply to earn a spot on Wheel of Fortune. Prior to all that, Secret Santa will return for the holiday season.

However, the biggest change has to do with the set. Producers plan to take Wheel of Fortune on the road for its XL season. They didn’t share details on its new location. This will include a major set design. Fans should notice these changes by early 2023.

Wheel of Fortune Season 40 puzzle board has fans mixed

Back in September, Wheel of Fortune partnered up with NASA to design its new puzzle board. It made history by incorporating technology into its classic game show. They unveiled the new look before the Season 40 premiere. The game show returned on September 12 with long-running hosts Pat Sajak and Vanna White.

Per Reader’s Digest, the original puzzle board required the use of individual monitors that relied on touch. The new one contains one large screen that requires a slight hover over each letter. This is due to the use of LIDAR technology, also known as laser technology. The new Wheel of Fortune set would also include new “graphics and logos.”

At the time, Bellamie revealed that this season of Wheel of Fortune would have “bigger prizes [and] bigger puzzles.” Players are winning more money than ever. There are even more changes to get your hands on the million-dollar prize. However, fans were mixed about the new puzzle board.

Ryan Seacrest Announces Sad News For E! Live Fans

It’s the end of an era on the E! Network. Everyone’s favorite professional host and face of award show interviews, Ryan Seacrest, has announced that he is leaving his longtime gig as co-host of E!’s Live from the Red Carpet. After over a decade of grilling celebs and Hollywood A-listers on the finer points of their fashion choices with Giuliana Rancic by his side, the 50-year-old announced in an Instagram post that he’s moving on.

Under a smiling photo donned in a tux with an E! emblazoned microphone, the man who has made millions as a professional master of ceremonies broke the news to fans and followers, sharing, “After 14 years of hosting E!’s Live from the Red Carpet I’ve decided to move on to new adventures.”

With American Idol, the production of Keeping Up With the Kardashians, his radio show “On Air with Ryan Seacrest,” and his co-hosting duties on Live with Kelly and Ryan, it’s no wonder Seacrest might want to free up a little bit of time in his busy schedule. Especially after, as USA Today notes, the consummate entertainer gave everyone a scare last summer after (what was later diagnosed as) exhaustion caused him to stutter and slur his way through the American Idol virtual finale.

A replacement for Ryan Seacrest has not been named by E! yet

Although the announcement certainly came as a surprise to fans, it’s obvious Ryan Seacrest’s relationships with his co-workers and E! Network executives are intact and positive. His departure announcement concluded by thanking everyone from crew to fans for the wonderful experience, poignantly stating, “I’ll miss the whole crew that works so hard behind the scenes and of course my amazing partner Giuliana. Thanks to everyone for watching all these years.”

Amidst the messages from fans and well-wishers, many fellow E! employees joined in to send Seacrest off. Among them, Fashion Police‘s Brad Goreski who wrote, “You are a legend Ryan!” And E! News anchor Jason Kennedy who shared, “It was a pleasure brother.” Even an official statement by E! came with accolades for the longtime host, “E! has long enjoyed our relationship with Ryan over the years especially as co-host of E!’s signature red carpet series. He has been instrumental in giving viewers a front row seat to some of Hollywood’s biggest nights. We are extremely appreciative of his many contributions and he will always be part of the E! Family” (via TV Insider).

As the next major red carpet event quickly approaches with the Golden Globes slated to air on Feb. 28, the New York Post reported that no replacement host has been named by the network yet. It’s certainly hard to imagine anyone else filling those Ryan Seacrest shoes!

Fans felt shock as 2025’s CBS announcement landed this week, because the network is tying a major sportsbook to daytime TV. Variety reports the new pricing game, “The Lion’s Share,” will debut when The Price Is Right returns for its 54th season on Sept 22, 2025, and contestants can win up to $500,000. That pairing shifts the business model for a show long built on small-stakes spectacle. Expect more cross-promotion and tougher ethical scrutiny – but will viewers tune in or push back?

What CBS’s new BetMGM game means for daytime viewers in 2025

CBS adds a new pricing game to The Price Is Right, premiere Sept 22, 2025; impact: bigger prizes.
The Lion’s Share debuts with BetMGM partnership; brings sportsbook tie-ins to daytime TV.
Contestants can win up to $500,000, increasing top-prize visibility and ad opportunities.

Why this BetMGM tie-up matters as fall 2025 premieres arrive

CBS chose a high-profile moment – the 54th season return – to roll out the sponsorship, not a quiet midseason test. Networks are under pressure to monetize streaming and linear audiences, and betting partners promise new revenue while changing program tone. If you watch daytime TV, expect prize structures and on-air promotions to feel more like sportsbook marketing. This is a business move with cultural consequences. How comfortable are viewers with gambling brands in family-room programming?

How will this betting tie-up change daytime TV in 2025?

This deal could turbocharge ratings for special episodes and premium ads, but it also invites questions about audience appropriateness and regulatory scrutiny. Producers will have to balance bigger payouts with clearer disclosures and guardrails around minors and problem gambling. Advertisers may follow the dollars – or retreat if backlash grows. Will viewers accept sportsbook branding in living rooms, or will sponsors have to tone it down to keep daytime families watching?

Ryan Seacrest Breaks Down as He Opens Up About His Father’s Battle With Cancer

In a rare and emotional moment on his radio show On Air with Ryan Seacrest, the longtime host of American Idol and Wheel of Fortune broke down while sharing a deeply personal update: his father, Gary Seacrest, has been battling prostate cancer—and the journey has taken a heartbreaking toll on the entire family.

Seacrest, 50, revealed that the diagnosis wasn’t new. Gary had been fighting the disease for years, but earlier this year, things took a frightening turn.

During a live taping of American Idol, Ryan received a call from his sister, Meredith, telling him their father had been rushed to the ICU. “She said, ‘Dad is in the ICU, and how fast can you get here?’” Ryan recalled. “I finished the show, but I didn’t even remember what I was saying. It was robotic at that point.”

He flew home to Atlanta immediately, arriving at the hospital in the early morning hours.

What he saw shook him: his strong, intelligent father—whom he’s always looked up to—was in a vulnerable state, battling pneumonia on top of cancer and recovering from chemotherapy that hadn’t gone well. “I’ve never seen that look on his face,” Ryan said. “He was looking at me to help guide what decisions should be made in that moment.”

Though Gary is now out of the hospital, he requires full-time care. Ryan shared that his father’s birthday wish was simple: to sit by the water with his wife of 55 years. “They can’t do much,” Ryan said tearfully, “but they just wanted to be together.”

The Heartbreaking Cry No One Expected — “My Baby’s Gone”: The Golden Girls Scene That Shook Everyone

It was supposed to be just another taping of The Golden Girls. But when Estelle Getty, in character as Sophia Petrillo, uttered the words “My baby’s gone,” something changed.

May be an image of 5 people and text that says "gettyimages ages Credit:NBC Credit: 138356515"

The studio fell silent. Crew members wiped away tears. The audience, usually roaring with laughter, froze in stunned disbelief. That night, the line between performance and reality blurred—and decades later, fans would learn why.

The scene aired during a particularly emotional episode, where Sophia believes her daughter Dorothy (played by Bea Arthur) has left for good. The moment was scripted, but the rawness in Getty’s voice was not. It felt too real. Too personal.

Why We Should All Pull Over For Funeral Processions

Years later, in a rare interview, Estelle Getty revealed the truth behind that haunting delivery. She had drawn from her own life—specifically, the loss of her brother, whom she had cared for deeply. “I wasn’t acting,” she admitted. “I was remembering.” That revelation changed everything. What viewers saw wasn’t just a character grieving—it was a woman channeling her own heartbreak through Sophia’s voice.

The cast and crew, many of whom were unaware of Getty’s personal pain, later said they had never seen her so emotionally exposed. “It was like time stopped,” one crew member recalled. “We weren’t watching a sitcom anymore. We were witnessing something sacred.”

Since then, fans have revisited the scene with new eyes. What once felt like a powerful moment of television now carries the weight of real loss, real love, and real vulnerability.

It’s a reminder of how deeply The Golden Girls resonated—not just because of its humor, but because of the humanity behind it.

And in that unforgettable cry—“My baby’s gone”—Estelle Getty gave us more than a performance. She gave us a glimpse into her soul.

From Home Improvement to Shifting Gears—Tim Allen’s Castmates Return for a Surprise Reunion

Tool Time Reunion: Patricia Richardson, Richard Karn, and Debbe Dunning Join Tim Allen on Shifting Gears

It’s the reunion fans of Home Improvement have been dreaming about for decades—Patricia Richardson, Richard Karn, and Debbe Dunning are officially joining their former co-star Tim Allen on his current ABC sitcom Shifting Gears.

Shifting Gears Season 2 Needs To Avoid Home Improvement References

The trio will guest star in the Season 2 premiere, airing October 1, 2025, marking a nostalgic return to the screen alongside the man who made “Tool Time” a household phrase.

In a playful behind-the-scenes TikTok that quickly went viral, Richardson, Karn, and Dunning were seen wandering onto what looked like the old Home Improvement set, only to be redirected by Allen himself: “Wrong set! Shifting Gears is over here!” he joked, setting the tone for what promises to be a heartfelt and hilarious episode.

Season 2 premiere of 'Shifting Gears' to have 'Home Improvement' reunion

While ABC is keeping their exact roles under wraps, the network teased that the trio will offer “unexpected support” to Allen’s character, Matt Parker—a widowed vintage car shop owner navigating life with his estranged daughter and her two kids.

The episode is expected to blend humor, nostalgia, and emotional depth, echoing the family-first themes that made Home Improvement a ’90s staple.

Richardson, who played Jill Taylor, the wise and witty matriarch, returns to work with Allen after previously guest-starring on Last Man Standing.

Karn, forever remembered as flannel-loving Al Borland, has also collaborated with Allen on History Channel’s Assembly Required and More Power. Dunning, who portrayed Heidi, the ever-reliable “Tool Time Girl,” rounds out the trio with her signature charm.

Season 2 premiere of 'Shifting Gears' to have 'Home Improvement' reunion

Though it’s not a full Home Improvement reboot, this crossover is the closest fans have come to seeing their favorite cast back together. And judging by the online buzz, it’s clear the love for this iconic crew hasn’t faded.

So mark your calendars—October 1 isn’t just the premiere of Shifting Gears Season 2. It’s a celebration of TV history, friendship, and the enduring legacy of one of America’s most beloved sitcom families.
