Pat Sajak Looks Great at 78 in Rare Outing 1 Year After ‘Wheel of Fortune’ Retirement: Photos
Coleman-Rayner
Last June, Pat Sajak said goodbye to his gig as the longtime host of Wheel of Fortune after an incredible 41 seasons – and retirement from the show is looking good on him!
Just over one year after his final episode of the series, Sajak, 78, was spotted having lunch with friends at the upscale eatery Larsen’s Steakhouse in Encino, California.
The television personality looked relaxed in a classy yet comfortable look, sporting a light colored button-up shirt and a pair of dark wash jeans for the outing.

Rarely seen out and about, this is reportedly the first time Sajak has been photographed publicly since September 2024, when he was seen having a meal with former Wheel of Fortune cohost Vanna White.
While Sajak ended his decades-long career on the original run of the hit game show, he still hosted season 5 of Celebrity Wheel of Fortune earlier this year.
The last episode aired on June 10. This summer, he also starred as Dr. Roy Flemming in a revival of the ’60s mystery play Prescription: Murder at the Hawaii Theatre in Honolulu.

As for what comes next for the famed television host, in a 2023 interview with the KHON2 news station in Hawaii, he quipped: “I suspect most of my time will be whittling on the front porch. But [I] don’t know how to whittle and I don’t have a front porch. So that’ll be a challenge.”
Vanna White & Pat Sajak Reunite As Ex-‘Wheel of Fortune’ Host Turns to Theater

Pat Sajak might be retired from Wheel of Fortune, but he found a new hobby to occupy his time: theater. Vanna White shared a sweet photo of the two of them as she supported him in his play.
“Had the pleasure of seeing Pat’s awesome performance on stage in Hawaii last weekend! It was great catching up and spending time with him! #foreverfriends,” she wrote on Instagram on August 12.
White shared two photos. The first was of her and Pat Sajak sitting together in a restaurant. They both wore casual clothing and smiled for the camera as White had her arm around Sajak. The second picture was of White pointing to the marquee for the play. Wearing a black floral dress, Vanna White smiled at the sign that said, “Hawaii Theatre Center presents Prescription: Murder starring Joe Moore & Pat Sajak, July 31-Aug 10, 2025.”
Sajak starred in the play Prescription: Murder at the Hawaii Theatre Center from July 31 to August 10. He played Dr. Roy Flemming, a psychiatrist who hatches a plan with his mistress to kill his “neurotic and possessive” wife. The two have to come up with an odd impersonation to back up their alibi. It was based on the TV series Columbo, according to Broadway World.
Joe Moore is a news anchor for KHON-TV in Honolulu and a longtime friend of Sajak. He played Lieutenant Columbo in the production.
Bryce Moore, Therese Olival, Amy K. Sullivan, and Aiko Chinen were also part of the cast. Rob Duval directed the play, which was originally written by William Link and Richard Levinson.
Proceeds from the show went to the Hawaiian Theatre Center, which is a nonprofit organization that relies on donations to keep the place up and running.
The last time White and Sajak were seen together publicly was when they hosted Celebrity Wheel of Fortune together in May after Sajak’s last season on the syndicated game show. So, naturally, fans were excited to see them together.
“Name a more perfect duo,” one fan commented.
“You can’t,” replied another.
“You both look wonderful,” said a follower.
“This melts my heart. Ryan is doing a great job, but I do miss Pat. ❤️💗🙏🏼,” said another.
“Yes! Good to know he’s doing good,” a fan wrote.
“You both look fantastic,” many others said.

Well, Ryan decided he’d clue viewers in on a pretty big update about brand-new episodes … but he did it in a way that fans didn’t necessarily expect.
As he posted an Instagram post of him eating dinner, he made sure to feature a glass with the iconic Wheel of Fortune in the center of the image. What’s more, he confirmed the previous news the show shared that new episodes of Wheel of Fortune will air on September 8, 2025.
“Dinner with a side of countdown,” he wrote alongside the snaps on August 8. “A new season of @WheelofFortune begins in just 1 month. Who’s ready?!”

“WE ARE READY!!! We miss you!” one person penned. “You’ve really given the show new life, Ryan 🥰❤️ Can’t wait to see you back. You’re a ray of sunshine! 😊☀️,” another expressed. “Meeee!!! The reruns are fun but I’m ready for some new puzzles to solve from my couch 🤣,” a different follower added.
Now, that’s the way to entice viewers to watch new episodes of Wheel of Fortune! And even though we don’t know who is set to compete this season, we can only imagine people are going to be excited by Ryan’s sophomore feat as host.
No matter the case, we’re ready to solve more puzzles with Ryan!

Mayim Bialik says she was let go from hosting ‘Jeopardy!’: ‘I am deeply grateful’.
Who is the most recent celebrity to no longer host ‘Jeopardy!?’
Mayim Bialik revealed on her social media account Friday that she will no longer be hosting the game show.
“As the holiday break begins in Hollywood, I have some Jeopardy! news,” the “Big Bang Theory” actress wrote on Instagram. “Sony has informed me that I will no longer be hosting the syndicated version of Jeopardy!”
“I am incredibly honored to have been nominated for a primetime Emmy for hosting this year,” she continued, “and I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to have been a part of the ‘Jeopardy!’ family.”
The 48-year-old concluded her post by thanking her supporters.
“For all of you who have supported me through this incredible journey and to the fans, contestants, writers, staff and crew of America’s Favorite Quiz Show,” she concluded, “thank you.”

The “Blossom” star began co-hosting the show with former “Jeopardy!” champion Ken Jennings in September 2021, after Alex Trebek, who began hosting the show in 1984, died in November 2020 after a battle with pancreatic cancer at the age of 80 after hosting the show for nearly 37 seasons.
Bialik and Jennings were made the permanent hosts of Jeopardy! to the dismay of some fans in the summer of 2023. Both earned Emmy Award nominations for outstanding host of a game show this year alongside “Password” host Keke Palmer, “Family Feud” frontman Steve Harvey and “Wheel of Fortune” mainstay Pat Sajak.
Bialik often gained the ire of die-hard “Jeopardy!” watchers after several of them accused her of being inconsistent with the syndicated show’s rules.
In August 2023, it was announced that Jennings would take over Bialik’s “Celebrity Jeopardy!” hosting duties.

In April 2022, Bialik reflected on the privilege of being a female host of a game show in a field dominated by men, such as Sajak, Harvey and Drew Carey.
“I’m part of an also, like, an iconic thing that people have a lot of opinions about,” she told ET. “Every detail, they’re very invested. And also, you know, I think it’s OK to say there aren’t a lot of females in this kind of position and so I think we’re all learning, you know, the different ways we look at women or think about — you know, it’s not like it’s rocket science. Like, this is all stuff that we’ve been reckoning with for thousands of years.”
Despite being a star on a sitcom when she was only 15 years old, Bialik admits that “Jeopardy!” truly made her a household name.
“It’s changed my life in enormous ways,” she added. “You know, my recognizability and kind of familiarity that people feel with me is a lot more, especially with, like, a nightly show like that, when you’re on a show that’s always in people’s living rooms or wherever they choose to watch.”
‘Jeopardy!’ Drops Big ‘Celebrity Jeopardy!’ News – See Why Fans are ‘Relieved’
ABC
Jeopardy! fans are in for some buzz-worthy news about Celebrity Jeopardy! and Ken Jennings‘ status with the ABC special. On Monday (December 16), the quiz show released the first promo photo of Celebrity Jeopardy! Season 3. The photo featured Jennings front-and-center as host, clearing up any confusion about whether he’d also host the spinoff.
In the Instagram photo, Jennings snapped a selfie, also giving fans the first glimpse of him hosting the new season. He looked particularly well-kept, with slicked-back hair and a big smile from the host lectern (not podiums, those are for the contestants!). No A-listers could be seen- the lineup will likely be announced in the coming weeks.
The post was captioned, “Ken’s ready for the new season of #CelebrityJeopardy. Are you?” It went on to say that Season 3 premieres on Wednesday, January 8, at 9 p.m. on ABC and Hulu.
In the comments section, fans were thrilled for the new season of Celebrity Jeopardy!, and to know that Jennings was at the host podium after some speculation about his role. There was a possibility that Mayim Bialik would host it, and some even thought Pop Culture Jeopardy! host Colin Jost would get it after rave reviews of him on his version.
“Oh I’m so relieved to hear it’s Ken hosting! Yay!!!” the top comment read.
“I LOVE YOU KEN,” wrote another.
“Mastered the selfie!!” quipped a third fan.
“Bring back the one who played blossom,” wrote a fourth still wishing Bialik would have been picked.
“I really hate to say this but Ken is even better at this than Alex,” gushed a fifth.
“A+ selfie content, Ken,” wrote one more.
Last month, Jeopardy! producers shared details about the annual spinoff. Once more, it will be an hour long, include the Triple Jeopardy round, and be held in a tournament style. The special will air weekly on Wednesdays and the winner will receive a $1 million prize (for their chosen charity) and a berth in the next Tournament of Champions.
“If I was describing Celebrity [Jeopardy!] I would say ‘great gameplay,” producer Sarah Whitcomb Foss promised fans on the Inside Jeopardy podcast. “And that may not be something people are used to associating with Celebrity Jeopardy! but really, it was great gameplay.” Executive Producer Michael Davies shared, “Jeopardy!, when this is an evenly matched game, always works.”
Meanwhile, the Celebrity Jeopardy! Season 3 buildup is well underway on social media. The quiz show recently shared a clip from the POV of a contestant answering Final Jeopardy, which fans shared they had never seen before (below). “That’s the first time I’ve ever seen the final jeopardy screen that contestants write on, thanks,” one fan wrote in the comments.
Jennings hosted Celebrity Jeopardy! Season 2, while, Bialik, who was axed last December as a syndicated host alongside the former champion but not from potential involvement in future specials, presided over Season 1.
It was all but assumed that Jennings, who hosts the syndicated (or nightly) quiz show, would host Celebrity Jeopardy! Season 3. However, his role cryptically had not been solidified.
When Celebrity Jeopardy! was renewed in May, Deadline pointed out that no host was attached. “It’s not clear whether Ken Jennings, who replaced Mayim Bialik will remain as host of the Sony Pictures Television-produced show,” the outlet shared at the time. So it came as welcome news to many fans last month when Jennings was quietly announced as host by ABC.
Are you excited for Celebrity Jeopardy! Season 3? Let us know in the comments section below! Celebrity Jeopardy!, Season 3 Premiere, Wednesday, January 8, 9/8c, ABC

Very SAD News for Everybody Loves Raymond, confirms Brad Garrett.
Everybody Loves Raymond reboot not happening, confirms Brad Garrett
A potential reboot of the classic sitcom ‘Everybody Loves Raymond’ is not in the cards, according to Brad Garrett, who played Robert Barone, the older brother of Ray Barone, portrayed by Ray Romano.
Washington [US], June 15 (ANI): A potential reboot of the classic sitcom ‘Everybody Loves Raymond’ is not in the cards, according to Brad Garrett, who played Robert Barone, the older brother of Ray Barone, portrayed by Ray Romano.
In a recent interview with People magazine, Garrett confirmed that a revival of the beloved show is unlikely due to the passing of key cast members Peter Boyle and Doris Roberts, who played the parents, Frank and Marie Barone.
Garrett explained that the show’s dynamic relied heavily on the parental characters, and said, “There is no show without the parents. They were the catalyst, and to do anything that would resemble that wouldn’t be right to the audiences or to the loyal fan base,” as quoted by People magazine.
He emphasised that the show’s essence was rooted in the interactions between the two families, and without the parents, it wouldn’t feel the same.
Garrett’s sentiments echo those of his co-stars. Ray Romano previously expressed his reservations about a reboot, citing the deaths of Boyle and Roberts, as well as his concern that such projects often don’t live up to the original. Patricia Heaton, who played Debra Barone, also shared her thoughts, and said, “It was just sort of perfection, and you don’t wanna mess with perfection.”
She added that with the loss of cast members, a reboot wouldn’t be the same show.
‘Everybody Loves Raymond’ aired for nine seasons, from 1996 to 2005, and won 15 Emmy Awards during its run.
The show’s impact on television is still felt, and its reruns continue to entertain audiences.
Despite the lack of a reboot, fans can still enjoy the series on streaming platforms like Peacock and Paramount plus. (ANI)
New Shifting Gears Image Reveals Another Last Man Standing Reunion For Tim Allen, Episode & Character Details Confirmed
Tim Allen’s Shifting Gears is setting up another Last Man Standing reunion, with a new guest star joining the cast for a special appearance. The ABC comedy follows Allen as Matt Parker, a widowed auto shop owner whose quiet life is upended when his estranged daughter Riley (Kat Dennings) and her children suddenly move into his home. The Shifting Gears cast has already welcomed several sitcom alumni, including Dharma & Greg‘s Jenna Eflman, and now another familiar face is set to appear in an upcoming episode.
As revealed by ABC, Last Man Standing alum Jay Leno will cameo in an upcoming episode of Shifting Gears, appearing as himself. The episode sees Leno bringing his car into Matt’s auto restoration shop for repairs. Leno previously played Joe, a mechanic, on Last Man Standing, and his longtime friendship with Allen—both having risen to fame as stand-up comedians in the 1980s—makes his guest spot a natural fit. You can find the first-look image below:
What Jay Leno’s Cameo In Shifting Gears Means
A Touch Of Nostalgia For ABC’s Latest Sitcom
Leno’s appearance is another example of Shifting Gearsembracing Last Man Standing nostalgia while working to establish its own identity. The show frequently features familiar faces, including Last Man Standing’s Nancy Travis, who will appear in episode 6. The March 12 episode with Leno, titled “Gummies,” will weave multiple storylines together, including Riley discovering weed gummies in Carter’s pocket and seeking unexpected advice from Matt. Meanwhile, Eve (Elfman) inadvertently puts Gabriel and Stitch in a difficult situation after asking them to donate to a charity auction.
While reviews for Shifting Gears have noted its overreliance on Allen’s well-established comedic persona and familiar tropes, the ABC series has nonetheless emerged as a ratings’ powerhouse, even surpassing The Conners in viewership. ABC’s strategy of appealing to Allen’s loyal fanbase has proven successful, highlighting his signature brand of humor. However, for Shifting Gears to ensure its success in the long run, it may need to introduce fresh dynamics beyond nostalgic reunions. One step in that direction appears to be the addition of Raising Hope alum Lucas Neff, who plays Riley’s estranged husband.
Our Take On The Leno-Allen Reunion
A Fun Nod To The Past
Allen and Leno’s reunion is a fun throwback for longtime fans, bringing back the comedic chemistry that made their Last Man Standing run an enjoyable watch. While Shifting Gears continues to benefit from nostalgia, it risks becoming too dependent on familiar faces. The ABC sitcom has succeeded in ratings, but to maintain momentum, it should establish a stronger identity beyond its ties to Last Man Standing. Nonetheless, Leno’s cameo will surely be a fun moment while Shifting Gears proves it can stand on its own.
Shifting Gears airs new episodes at 8:00 P.M. EST on Wednesdays on ABC.
