“Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage” Faces an Uncertain Future as Annie Potts Considers Her Exit. The beloved actress, whose iconic role as Meemaw is a cornerstone of the show’s humor and heart, is reportedly weighing a departure. Fans are left reeling, fearing a seismic shift that could change the series forever.

Annie Potts’ New Show Poses Challenges for Meemaw’s Role in Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage

Annie Potts, renowned for her charming performances, has recently been cast in the lead role of Fox’s “Best Medicine,” a U.S. adaptation of the popular British series “Doc Martin.”

While this new opportunity is a significant milestone in her career, it raises serious questions about her availability for “Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage,” a spinoff from the hit series “Young Sheldon.” Potts plays Meemaw, a character beloved by fans for her warmth, humor, and pivotal role in the family dynamics of the show.

With a full-time commitment to “Best Medicine,” it is unlikely that Potts will have the time required to make regular appearances as Meemaw in “Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage.” This new series demands a considerable amount of her attention and energy, making it challenging for her to juggle both roles effectively.

As a result, her involvement in the spinoff may be significantly limited, which could impact the storyline and character development in the upcoming season.

Meemaw has become an iconic character within the “Young Sheldon” universe, known for her witty remarks and loving support of her family. Her interactions with the younger Sheldon and his family have added depth to the series, making her a fan favorite. In “Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage,” her character was expected to play a crucial role, providing guidance and humor as the young couple navigates their new life together. However, with Potts’ new commitment, the showrunners may need to reevaluate how they incorporate Meemaw into the narrative.

Annie Potts Reminisces On Her Season 1 Bond With The Cast Of Young Sheldon

The potential absence of Meemaw in the upcoming season poses a significant challenge for the writers and producers of “Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage.” Without her regular presence, the show may need to shift its focus to explore other family dynamics and relationships.

This could lead to a broader exploration of Georgie and Mandy’s interactions with other characters, but it may also leave fans longing for the unique charm that Meemaw brings to the table.

Producers might need to get creative to work around Potts’ availability. This could involve writing her character into fewer episodes or finding innovative ways to keep her involved through remote appearances or special guest spots. However, these adjustments may not fully capture the essence of Meemaw that fans have come to love.

Is Young Sheldon's Iain Armitage in Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage?

Annie Potts’ casting in “Best Medicine” is undoubtedly an exciting development in her career, but it raises significant questions about the future of her character, Meemaw, in “Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage.” As the spinoff prepares for its second season, fans will be watching closely to see how the show adapts to this new reality. While the absence of Meemaw may shift the dynamics of the series, the hope remains that the writers will find a way to honor her character’s legacy while exploring new storylines. Ultimately, the challenge lies in balancing Potts’ new commitments with the expectations of a devoted fanbase eager to see more of Meemaw’s delightful antics.

The Big Bang Theory’s Forgotten Star Just Revealed Why They Left The Show

The cast of The Big Bang Theory

Since The Big Bang Theory is one of the most successful sitcoms of all-time, many fascinating facts about the TV show have been revealed. For example, fans learned about the gross thing Mayim Bialik did for the show, how hard it was to cast Penny, and why TBBT made Simon Helberg uncomfortable. Similarly, The Big Bang Theory fans also learned that the show once traumatized a former teen star and who Jim Parson’s favorite guest star was.

However, there are some The Big Bang Theory facts that it seems like virtually nobody knows. Some notable examples of that include the facts that Johnny Galecki dated Sheldon’s mom in another show and that Craig Ferguson had an unofficial cameo. Since she only recently talked about it, another rare The Big Bang Theory fact is why one of the show’s forgotten stars left the show.

Who Are The Big Bang Theory’s Forgotten Stars?

When people think of the cast of The Big Bang Theory, the list of people who come to mind is relatively short. Those names are likely to be limited to Johnny Galecki, Jim Parsons, Kaley Cuoco, Simon Helberg, Kunal Nayyar, Mayim Bialik, and Melissa Rauch.

While there is no doubt that those names make up the list of The Big Bang Theory’s main stars, many fans forget that other people were also promoted to the show’s main cast. In fact, there were three other people who were officially credited as series regulars, which means they were part of the main cast.

For most fans, Kevin Sussman has to be The Big Bang Theory’s most obvious forgotten star.

Cast as Stuart Bloom, Kevin first became a part of The Big Bang Theory’s main cast during Season 6. For Season 7, Kevin was demoted back to a recurring role, but he was promoted again for Season 8 and remained a part of The Big Bang Theory’s main cast for the rest of its run.

In August 2012, Deadline published an article about Kevin being promoted to a series regular. According to IMDb, Kevin becoming part of The Big Bang Theory’s main cast allowed him to appear in 84 episodes of the show.

Probably The Big Bang Theory star that viewers are least likely to know was a part of the main cast is Laura Spencer.

In addition to Laura Spencer’s time starring in The Big Bang Theory, she has appeared in several other notable shows. According to her IMDb, Laura’s other credits include Bones, Get ShortyGrey’s Anatomy, and Night Court appearances, among others.

Cast as Emily Sweeney, the one-time girlfriend of Rajesh Koothrappali, Laura was officially part of the main cast during Season 9, according to an October 2015 Yahoo! Entertainment article.

Sara Gilbert from The Big Bang Theory sitting during a conversation

Easily the most famous former The Big Bang Theory star that people don’t realize was part of the main cast is Sara Gilbert. Best known for starring in Roseanne and The Conners, Sara also co-hosted The Talk for almost a decade.

Before they briefly starred in The Big Bang Theory together, Sara Gilbert and Johnny Galecki dated in real life. As a September 2013 Us Weekly article detailed, during an episode of The Talk, Sara described how Johnny reacted when she broke up with him after figuring out she is a lesbian. “Johnny felt badly, I think, and started to take it personally and didn’t know what was going on. So I eventually told him that I thought it was about my sexuality and he was super sweet about it.”

As a January 2009 Entertainment Weekly article shows, Sara had been upgraded to The Big Bang Theory’s main cast in 2008. However, after only five months, The Big Bang Theory bosses decided to reverse their decision and the outlet reported that they’d ended Sara’s contract.

Sara Gilbert Recently Revealed Why She Left The Big Bang Theory

According to Sara’s IMDb page, she was last a regular part of The Big Bang Theory’s cast during the second season. After that, Sara appeared in a single The Big Bang Theory episode during the show’s third and ninth seasons. Despite that, in 2025, Sara revealed breaking news about her The Big Bang Theory tenure.

Since Sara was famous by the time she began showing up in The Big Bang Theory episodes, her joining the show was a big deal. In fact, Sara was in a very similar situation as the one Mayim Bialik was in when she showed up on The Big Bang Theory after previously starring in Blossom.

Given that Mayim starred in The Big Bang Theory for years, it would have made sense if Sara had done the same thing. However, Sara stopped appearing regularly and mostly disappeared from The Big Bang Theory.

Sara Gilbert from The Big Bang Theory looking shocked

As an April 2025 AOL article shows, Sara explained what led to her leaving The Big Bang Theory at that time. During an appearance on “The Official Big Bang Theory Podcast,” Sara told that show’s host, Jessica Radloff, that The Big Bang Theory’s writers ran out of things to do with her character, Leslie Winkle.

“I think the writers kind of hit a wall with the character, probably also because she leaves these dynamics quickly, you know, then kind of like, well, what do you do now? She’s wired like that, and she left, and then there’s no more story there, really.”

During the same conversation, Sara revealed another fascinating truth about her The Big Bang Theory departure.

In an ideal world, every actor who leaves a show would walk away feeling good about their tenure. However, the sad truth is that often isn’t the case. Thankfully for her, during the same podcast episode, Sara explained how much she enjoyed starring in The Big Bang Theory while it lasted.

“It was a blast, and I like to work, so I’m always happy to show up.”

Sara Gilbert from The Big Bang Theory looking frustrated

To further underline how much she enjoyed acting on the show, Sara told the podcast host that she would have continued starring in The Big Bang Theory if she could have.

Yeah, I would do more. I would have done more at the time.

While it would have been lovely to see more of Sara on The Big Bang Theory, many fans would likely agree that her character ran its course.

Fiancé opens up after on-set ‘Wheel of Fortune’ proposal goes viral

Robin Kuriakose said the surprise proposal was “absolutely unforgettable.”

The man who proposed to his fiancée on the set of the popular game show “Wheel of Fortune” says he knew it would be the perfect way to pop the big question.

“From the moment I saw a future together with Rhea, I envisioned this proposal,” Robin Kuriakose told “Good Morning America.” “I saw the letters on the board, and knew this is how it had to happen. Truthfully, there were no plans B or C! It took about 3 months to plan it alongside the amazing producers of the show.”

Kuriakose’s fiancee Rhea Susan Mathew returned to play “Wheel of Fortune” under the assumption that she was there to celebrate the longtime show’s 50th anniversary, as co-host Vanna White explained in a behind-the-scenes YouTube video.

Rhea Susan Matthew’s boyfriend surprised her with a wedding proposal on the set of “Wheel of Fortune.”

In the video, Mathew solves a phrase puzzle with the correct answer of “Will you marry me?” before the show’s set opens up and Kuriakose steps out.

When Mathew starts connecting the dots, her eyes grow wide and her jaw falls open before she approaches Kuriakose and he gets down on one knee.

“Rhea Susan Mathew, will your marry me?” he asks as he holds out an engagement ring.

Mathew, with her hands over her mouth in shock, quickly nods yes before the couple share a loving kiss.

In a behind-the-scenes Instagram video post, Mathew told “Wheel of Fortune” social correspondent Maggie Sajak she had no idea her now-fiance, whom she described as “one of her biggest supporters,” would propose on set.

“I”m still in shock,” she said.

Kuriakose said the proposal was an “absolutely unforgettable” moment for the two of them.

“Like the rest of America, I saw the shock on her face — with her jaw on the floor and her eyes wide open. All I wanted to do at that moment was embrace her to bring her back to reality, and show her the magic she deserves,” he said. “I hope people take away the importance of celebrating love and the little things that make each relationship unique.”

According to Kuriakose, Mathew her family are “huge” longtime fans of “Wheel of Fortune,” which made the proposal extra special.

“They all collectively come down at 7:30 to watch the show together as a family, a tradition started by her grandfather,” Kuriakose explained. “In fact, it helped him learn English. Seeing how much joy it brings them is really special to me. That’s part of why incorporating it into this moment felt so meaningful — it’s a nod to something they love and a way to make the occasion even more personal.”

Kuriakose said he and Mathew plan on getting married in Long Island, New York in October.

How Much Is Ryan Seacrest Making on ‘Wheel of Fortune’? His Net Worth Revealed

With his nearly two-decade career, Ryan Seacrest is certainly a household name. He has more than dipped his toe into hosting TV programs and has amassed a large fortune for himself with his numerous jobs. How much does Ryan Seacrest make from Wheel of Fortune, and what is his total net worth?

Beginning in 2002, Seacrest emerged onto the scene when he hosted American Idol. With 23 seasons under his belt, he doesn’t appear to be going anywhere. His paycheck for the ABC reboot is reported to be $12 million per season, according to multiple sources.

Seacrest branched out into radio in 2004 and currently hosts On Air With Ryan Seacrest and American Top 40. According to Forbes, he earned $15 million in 2015 for hosting both shows, though he likely makes significantly more now. Through his iHeartRadio programs, Seacrest also hosts the annual Jingle Ball event in Los Angeles.

While hosting Idol, Seacrest, 50, has taken on additional projects, including Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve With Ryan Seacrest,, which he has hosted since 2005. The program airs annually on December 31, but it continues to contribute to his substantial net worth. According to OK! Magazine,, he earned $1 million for the gig in 2013, a figure likely to be much higher 12 years later. ABC has extended Seacrest’s contract to host the show through 2029, according to Variety.

In 2006, Seacrest joined E! to host E! News and various red carpet and NBC programs. Under his contract, he contributed to the Today Show, Olympic coverage, and other news coverage. He left in 2012 after the London Olympic Games. According to reports, Seacrest signed a three-year contract for $21 million. With his six years at the program, his salary most probably doubled.

The same year he joined E!, he launched Ryan Seacrest Productions, which produced Keeping Up With the Kardashians. It was the network’s longest and most popular reality TV show. His salary from the show has not been publicly reported, but the legacy and residuals are not something to scoff at.

In 2017, Seacrest began flying coast to coast while hosting not only American Idol but also Live! with Kelly and Ryan.. He continued hosting the program until April 2023. According to Forbes  he earned $10 million per season.

Leaving Live! gave Seacrest the opportunity to host Wheel of Fortune. After Pat Sajak retired in 2024, Seacrest was a seamless fit, but came at a price. Radar Online shared that the host reportedly signed on for $28 million per season, making him one of the highest-paid people on TV.

In addition to his hosting duties, Seacrest has multiple revenue streams, including his tequila line, Casa Dragones, his work as a spokesperson for Health-Ade kombucha, and his children’s book with his sister, Meredith. He also gives back to the community through his Ryan Seacrest Foundation.

So what is Ryan Seacrest’s net worth? According to Celebrity Net Worth, the TV host is worth a whopping $500 million. The site also reported that he gets a salary of $75 million per year. And Seacrest doesn’t seem to be slowing down anytime soon.

While we don’t know if Drew will be at all of the tour stops, he’s previously expressed how close he keeps the show and fans to his heart. As viewers may know, the actor and comedian was named the successor of longtime host Bob Barker in 2007.

“Hosting The Price Is Right has been a dream job for me,” Drew told Deadline in August 2021. “I really never thought my safe space would be on a sound stage, wearing a mic, cameras on me constantly, and with millions of people watching. But that’s what The Price Is Right is for me. I love it.”

You had to feel for the woman wearing the Price Is Right T-shirt in the front row. When Drew Carey, the host for the past six seasons of the venerably vapid game show, hit the stage, she presented him with a bouquet of flowers. As she turned to head back to her seat, Carey threw the gift on the floor and flipped her off, then quickly picked it up and sweet-talked her as she sat down. After that, as she settled in, he tossed it back on the floor, where it stayed for the duration of his set.

And if his daytime fans didn’t pick up on that at this point, he drove it home soon into his hourlong set, when he said, after dropping several F-bombs, “Pardon my language, but if you’re here to win a car, you’re at the wrong fucking show.”

He then went into how he longs to call some delirious contestant a “lucky Ford Focus–driving motherfucker”. It’s a bit of the Bob Saget syndrome, where a wholesome television image begets a blue live show, but there’s more to Carey’s act than a simple recitation of cuss words and references to his celebrity. There are both those things, of course, but his stage act was solidly written and performed. The guy’s always had the unbridled enthusiasm of the luckiest man in the world, laughing throughout his set, but it’s buttressed by strong jokes.

And research. Well, at least Wikipedia. Whether it’s simply to check the cast’s age on iCarly so his bit about masturbating to it isn’t as creepy, the creation story of Scientology, or a unique (and “racist-y”) take on the U.S. civil-rights movement, a slimmed-down Carey put some meat on his jokes’ bones.

It was also a treat to see two opening comics well-known to comedy nerds but who haven’t played Vancouver before. The rail-thin Blaine Capatch is probably better-suited to a club than a theatre, but he had some good (and intentionally bad) jokes, while Dave Anthony, a second-round draft pick in the game of love, talked about relationships but with an edge.

And as the headliner, Carey proved he’s put in the work. He’s not just up there with a half-assed routine, coasting on his fame and cashing his cheques. But since his reputation is as one of the nice guys of show business, I would have loved for him to collect the flowers from the floor as he exited instead of leaving them there in a pile. Maybe he wants a new reputation as comedy’s bad boy.
