‘The Price Is Right’ Fans Share Their Pet Peeves About the Show

Come on down and tell us what your The Price Is Right pet peeve is. Fans of the game show shared theirs, and many of them were divided.

“My pet peeve. I know I can’t be the only one…I can’t stand when people bet $1 over their competitors. One person bids $1,500, and the person after bids $1,501. If the person who bids $1,501 wins, I hope they lose their game lol. Oooooh, it’s such a pet peeve of mine. Grinds my gears lol,” a Reddit user posted.

This happens a lot on The Price Is Right. A contestant doesn’t want to bid too high, but still wants to win, so they only bid $1 above the person before them. Most of the time, it is the last person to make their bid, but sometimes it’s not.

“It’s been a pet peeve of mine, too, for decades. I, too, hope contestants lose their games after that bet $1 over their competitors. Even if they make it to the showcases, I rejoice when those particular contestants lose,” said one fan.

“Agree. My hubby & I get excited when they lose their game,” wrote another.

“I’m with you, OP it really grinds my gears also,” added a third.

“I feel the same way. Bid $5 more to give them a small chance,” commented a Reddit user.

Most of the commenters did not agree with the original poster, however. Some fans said what gets on their nerves is when a contestant bids $1 under the previous contestant or when they make an amount lower than everyone else, but it’s not a wise bid.

Many fans said that contestants have to “play to win!”

“My pet peeve is when people don’t do that when they could/should,” said another. A lot of fans agreed with this poster and many of the comments were about this.

“This is how the game is played! Drives me crazy when someone spends the whole show in contestant’s row, they were the last bidder several times, and never one dollar anyone. Enjoy that consolation prize, you had your chance!” a fan said.

“Say the next lowest bid is $750, and you have the benefit of going last, and for some reason, you bid $500 instead of $1. Drives me insane, like, c’mon folks, I know you had to have watched the show before. If you’re going last and want to undercut, go as low as possible so you don’t accidentally overbid yourself,” one fan said.

What is your pet peeve on The Price Is Right? Do you agree with the fans above? Let us know in the comments.

NBC Today meteorologist Dylan Dreyer shocked fans last week with the announcement of her separation, but could a 2022 interview have offered early clues about trouble in her marriage?

Last Friday (July 18), Dreyer announced that she and her husband Brian Fichera had split after almost 13 years of marriage. The former couple, who share three children, stated that they will remain friends despite their separation.

“For many years I have shared my family with you all — the highs and lows. The ups and downs. And all of the blessings and beautiful memories in between,” Dreyer wrote on Instagram. “I am incredibly grateful for the support and love you’ve given me through it all. For that reason, I want to share with you that a few months ago, Brian and I made the decision to separate.”

While the news came as a surprise to many, others pointed to a 2022 Today interview that could have been a sign of marital trouble. In the interview, Dreyer noted how she and Fichera, a former NBC cameraman, mainly communicated via text due to their busy work schedules.

“Our schedules mean we don’t see each other much, but we text all the time,” she shared. “Sometimes it’s even easier to have an important or deep conversation via text because we get all our thoughts out without being interrupted.”

Did NBC's Dylan Dreyer Give Clues to Marriage Problems Live on 'Today'? - IMDb

Dreyer noted how she and her husband could tell each other’s tone and intention through text. “We don’t find it impersonal. In fact, just the opposite,” she said. “We know each other well enough to understand each other’s tone, so a lot gets accomplished through texting.”

In her separation announcement, Dreyer stated, “We began as friends, and we will remain the closest of friends. Most importantly, we will continue to co-parent our three wonderful boys together with nothing but love and respect for one another.”

Just days earlier, Dreyer shared photos from the American Century Championship celebrity golf tournament, where Fichera served as her caddy.

Correction: A previous version of this article referred to Deyer’s statement as a “divorce announcement” as opposed to a “separation announcement.”

Gavin Newsom might be a leading contender for the 2028 Democratic presidential nomination, but one person who won’t be casting a vote for him is Jeopardy! host Ken Jennings.

Jennings made his point clear on Thursday (July 17) when he took to the social media platform Bluesky to slam Newsom’s stance on transgender children. The host was responding to a fellow user who wrote, “I will never, ever vote for Gavin Newsom. Ever, under any circumstances. I don’t care if he becomes the Dem nominee, he’s still not getting my vote.”

“This is correct,” Jennings replied. “Any candidate cynically ‘triangulating’ on trans kids is a non-starter, and now is the time to say so. There’s still so much time to advance candidates that DON’T suck.”

He followed up, “I think the only two governors who ever followed me on Twitter were Newsom and Spencer Cox, and I feel bad that I’m apparently such a good “craven doofus” follow.”

Newsom has faced backlash from the LGBTQ+ community in recent months for appearing on right-wing podcasts and feeding into the anti-trans talking points. This includes a recent appearance on the Shawn Ryan Show podcast, where the California Governor talked about trans athletes and trans children. Newsom has said that it’s “deeply unfair” for transgender athletes to compete in female  sports.

Jeopardy!'s Ken Jennings won't support Gavin Newsom for president due to trans kids stance

Fans appreciated Jennings speaking out on the matter, with one Reddit user writing, “Thank you! It is all about the permission structures that we allow. It is time for us to be aggressively against bigotry. Remember fam, the abolishment of slavery, and the civil rights movements were both in their times wildly unpopular to the public. Sometimes it doesn’t matter what the majority thinks.”

“Not all heroes wear capes. He nailed it on the cynical part. Now I have the right word to explain my Newsom ick,” said another.

“Even the occasional craven doofus watches Jeopardy,” quipped another Bluesky user.

Another added, “I very much appreciate you for who you are, Ken, regardless of how you may be perceived. And that includes in both your professional and personal capacities. I bet a lot of people do. So thank you.”

“Thank you for remaining a real one,” said one commenter.

“I watch Jeopardy quite a bit but frankly knew nothing about Ken Jennings’ politics. Let’s just say this take is a welcome surprise,” another wrote.

    Wheel of Fortune/YouTube

After a two-day hiatus, The Price is Right returned with a wild start. The game show was off the air for a few days due to March Madness, but TPIR had some madness of its own.

On Monday, March 24, Yanira, from Hawaii, bet on a pair of 128 GB smartphones. She bid $1,000, and they were retailed at $1,398, so she won the bid and got to come to the stage to play a game with host Drew Carey.

Yanira got to play Switcharoo, which is a game played for a car and four other small prizes. The name comes from the fact that the contestant can switch the numbers around on their second turn if they get it wrong the first time. The prices are all missing one number, and the contestant has to match up the numbers to make the correct prices for all of the prizes.

The game show contestant had to find the prices for a refillable and reuseable fire extinguisher, a heavy-duty water-resistant lock box, a dry erase board easel and marker, and a three-tiered water fountain, along with the car.

Yanira had 30 seconds to put all of the prices in the correct spots. She put all of the numbers in on time but stressed about it and asked her friends in the audience for help. As Carey tried to talk to her, she touched the block that was in the fire extinguisher, and it fell out. “I broke it,” she said.

“No, you didn’t. Oh yeah, you did,” Carey said, putting it back in its place. As he touched the lip where the number lay, it fell out and onto the floor.

“You broke it more!” Yanira said to the host as she picked up the number block. Carey chuckled, along with the audience, and then set it on top of the other number below it.

“We’ll pretend that’s where it goes,” he said.

Once the disaster passed, TPIR revealed that she had two numbers correct. Yanira had the chance to go again and try to rearrange the numbers in another 30 seconds. After rearranging the numbers, Yanir had zero correct. The price for the car was $21,719, and she had $21,779. She didn’t win any of the prizes.

Yanira spun a 60 during the Showcase Showdown, but it wasn’t enough to advance to the Showcase Round.

“These games are hard,” said one YouTube user.

    “Ouch,” wrote many others.

The Price Is Right has officially begun filming for Season 54. Model Manuela Arbeláez, who has been with the game show since 2009, shared a video from her trailer as well as a sneak peek at her outfits for the upcoming season.

On July 21, model Arbeláez shared a photo on her Instagram Story. “Fittings for new season of TPIR this week,” she wrote. The rack consisted of short, multi-colored sleeveless dresses. The dresses had a mix of sparkles, lace, and sequins. Fellow model Amber Lancaster showed off her outfits last week as well. Hers consisted mostly of yellows and blues.

Arbeláez also shared a video from her The Price Is Right trailer on Tuesday, July 22. “We are back, baby!” she captioned the video.

The video started off with a view of the parking lot on set. It had cars on it, as well as an outside dining table, chairs, and an umbrella. “We are back, you guys!” Arbeláez said in the video. She panned the camera inside her trailer and filmed in front of her mirror. “Another season of The Price Is Right. Happy Tuesday!”

Her outfit that she wore was completely different from what she wears on the game show. She wore jeans and a long-sleeved black and white striped shirt, along with white sneakers. She had a full face of makeup done, and her brown hair was pulled back with clips, ready to film.

The model then showed off a present that CBS had left for them, which she hadn’t opened yet. Arbeláez then showed off the rest of her trailer, which had a tan couch, a mirror, a counter filled with snacks, and a small kitchen.

“Get ready! Let’s go,” she ended.

Manuela Arbeláez then shared what she got inside the present, which consisted of items from The Box New York. “Thank you to my CBS family network,” she wrote. The box contained a card, incense sticks, and more. The model then shared a photo of workers pouring 183 drink syrup into coffee while outside the set.

The Price Is Right has not yet set a premiere date for Season 54, but they are clearly filming. The game show typically returns with new episodes in early September. Check back for updates.

Host Drew Carey, announcer George Gray, as well as models Arbeláez, James O’Halloran, Rachel Reynolds, Amber Lancaster, Devin Goda, and Alexis Gaube are all expected to return.

The Voice concluded its 27th season in May and is already confirmed to be coming back for Season 28 in the fall of 2025. But can we expect more of the singing competition in the future?

On Tuesday, July 22, NBC set the coaching panel and released details about the special format for Season. 29. Scroll down for updates on everything we know about the future of The Voice.

Will The Voice return for Season 29?

Yes! While the July 22 announcement makes it official, it’s not too surprising given there were tickets available for Blind Audition tapings for the 29th season. Fans could apply for tickets to attend tapings on July 21, July 22, and July 23 in California. The same website also offered tickets to Season 28 Blind Audition tapings on July 7, July 8, July 9, and July 10.

Who are The Voice Season 29 coaches?

There will be three coaches for Season 29, which will feature a special format revamp (more on that below). Fan-favorites Kelly Clarkson, John Legend, and Adam Levine will reclaim their red chairs for Season 29. Clarkson will film The Voice and The Kelly Clarkson Show Season 7 concurrently through a coordinated filming schedule that has already been worked out between the two production teams.

Season 28 will feature Reba McEntire, Niall Horan, Snoop Dogg, and Michael Bublé as the coaches in the big red chairs. All four superstars have coached on the show in the past, but this is the first time this foursome will be on the panel all together.

What is new about The Voice Season 29’s format?

In a first for the hit competition, the upcoming cycle will be dubbed The Voice: Battle of Champions, with a major revamp to the longstanding format and nodding to the powerhouse coaches who form the only panel in the show’s history comprised entirely of Voice winners.  Coaches enter the competition with 10 artists per team.

There will be four rounds, each with a distinct Voice first:

Blinds: Coaches compete against each other in the “Triple Turn Competition” (vying for the most three-chair turns) with the winner gaining a special advantage in the next round.

Battles: The coach with the most three-chair turns automatically earns a “Super Steal” for the Battles. This coveted prize can only be used once and trumps any other coach’s attempt to steal, guaranteeing a win.

Knockouts: Each coach brings back two fan-favorite artists from their teams in previous seasons to compete in an “In-Season All-Star Competition.” All-stars represent their former coaches as they battle in head-to-head sing-offs. The coach with the most sing-off wins is guaranteed a second finalist in the finale. For this special episode, coaches call upon original Voice coach CeeLo Green to sit in on the competition and determine the winner of each All-Star Showdown.

Semi-Final and Finale Week: Kicks off with a Top 9 Semi-final and culminates in the Top 4 Finale. For the first time in show history, a new voting block comprised of super fans and past Voice artists will have the opportunity to get in on the fun firsthand, experiencing the competition as part of the in-studio audience voting for their favorites in real time during the semi-finals and finale.

When does The Voice Season 29 premiere?

The Voice Season 29 is set to premiere in spring 2026. An exact date has yet to be announced, but if scheduling is the same as it’s been in recent years, we can likely expect a February 2026 return.

Season 28 will start in September 2025 and will likely wrap ahead of the holidays in December. While other shows, including Dancing With the Stars and American Idol, now only have one season per year, The Voice still airs two.

There are more changes coming to The Voice, with season 29 set to see the biggest change of all. While three coaches are coming back, there will only be three that season, and it makes for something exciting.

Of course, The Voice season 28 is still to premiere. That will air in the fall, and we’ll get to see four coaches, who are all returning coaches but not from season 27. The show has to keep us on our toes somehow, right?

Kelly Clarkson among the returning coaches for The Voice season 29

Scheduled to premiere in the midseason, The Voice season 29 will see Kelly Clarkson, Adam Levine, and John Legend return to the red chairs. Only the three of them will be coaches for that season, meaning that the format has to change.

Clarkson will still film The Kelly Clarkson Show season 7. TV Insider reports that the production teams will need to work out the schedules between them.

The season will be dubbed The Voice: Battle of the Champions, which is a first. The season will feature only Voice winners, and it’s the first time in the show’s history that this has been done. Each coach will get 10 artists, meaning 30 former winners are battling it out to prove who is the best.

As usual, there will still be the Blinds Auditions and then the Battles. During the Blinds, the coaches will compete against each other in the “Triple Turn Competition,” where they will vie for the most three-chair turns and the winner will get a special advantage in the battles.

There will also still be the Knockouts, the Semi-Final, and Finale Week. In the semi-finals and final, former Voice artists and super fans will get the opportunity to vote for their favorites in real-time.

    The Voice - Season 27

The Voice season 28 will see four returning coaches

Of course, The Voice season 28 is the first to arrive on our screens, and that will see four coaches who have all had a chance in the red chairs before. However, they have not coached in the same season before.

Reba McEntire, Michael Bublé, Snoop Dogg, and Niall Horan will all return to the red chairs. The format is set to be as usual, and The Voice season 28 is currently slated for a fall 2025 premiere. NBC is still finalizing premiere dates, but we’re expecting September for this series.

The taping of both seasons 28 and 29 has started.

The Voice season 28 will air on Mondays on NBC in fall 2025.

But it wasn’t just fans who were complaining about the “Living For Love” singer, even country star Reba McEntire — who attended the show — slammed Madonna’s bad behavior.

The famed redhead took to Instagram to bash her pop star peer, showing no mercy when it came to her tardiness.

“At the Madonna concert,” she wrote alongside a photo of the venue. “She’s not on yet…really???”

The “Going Out Like That” hit-maker kept followers updated on Madonna’s show faux pas, adding another photo later, captioned: “We’re here! Where is she???”

“She came on at 10:31,” Reba huffed on her final post.

To be fair, Madonna has had a difficult year thus far, thanks to an ongoing custody battle over rebellious son Rocco Ritchie, 15.

As RadarOnline.com previously reported, trouble in paradise first occurred when the teen refused to return to the U.S. (and his mother) over the holidays, after he had accompanied her for the first half of the Rebel Heart Tour.

Reportedly angry over his disobedience, Madonna sought a court order shortly thereafter, forcing Rocco to come home.

So far, Madge has not been successful in getting her son home, as he remains in London with his father, film director Guy Ritchie.

Could a Van and Cheyenne reunion be in the cards? Reba‘s JoAnna Garcia Swisher sure hopes so.

Swisher recently opened up to Us Weekly about the possibility of sharing the screen with Steve Howey, who played her love interest in the Reba McEntire-led sitcom, again. “I would jump at the chance to work with Steve again,” Swisher said. “We have talked about it.”

They have yet to decide which project they’ll work together on, though Swisher is totally on board for her former costar to join the world of Sweet Magnolias, her romantic drama series on Netflix. “Yes [to a Sweet Magnolias cameo for Howey],” the star said. “Yes to all of the things.”

Even though she’s “1,000 percent” willing to work with Howey again, it’s about finding the right project. The actress isn’t sure if they’ll reprise their Reba roles, or if it’ll be something totally new. “I don’t know if it’ll be Van and Cheyenne, but I can definitely say that I will text him often,” Swisher confirmed. “I’ll be like, ‘Do you want to do a cowboy romance or something like that? I think we should make that happen.’”

Either way, Swisher is “manifesting” it. “I have so much love for him and we have obviously just this really special and unique chemistry that is just rare,” she continued. “He’s so wildly talented and he made me look good for so many years. Just to be his partner in crime on [Reba] and he was just so inherently brilliant and funny.”

Even if her potential project with Howey is a ways off, Swisher is ready to return to the sitcom world with McEntire’s Happy’s Place, which Howey has already made a guest appearance on. “This is my family,” she said. “We are all so very close, but getting the opportunity to slide back into a sitcom stage with all of them would be so exciting. I would not be surprised if that was in the very near future.”

Reba McEntire celebrated a milestone in her son Shelby Blackstock’s pilot journey on July 22, 2025, and she couldn’t be more proud.

“Turned around to check on you, and realized you’re not my newborn anymore,” she wrote beside two photos on her TikTok account: one of herself holding Blackstock as a baby, and one of her now-35-year-old son standing proudly beside an airplane he’s just flown.

“Safe to say, he’s gonna fly,” she added in the caption. “So proud of Shelby for taking his first solo flight!”

The sweet set of photos was accompanied by McEntire’s 2005 hit song “You’re Gonna Be” playing in the background. She wrote the hit about her baby boy twenty years ago — little did she know how relevant the lyrics to the song would become!

“You’re gonna fly with every dream you chase/We just have to believe things work out like they should,” she sings in the classic hit. “Life has no guarantees, but always loved by me/You’re gonna be, always loved by me.”

“What a manifestation!” said one fan in the comments of her post.

The song sparked a recent trend on TikTok, where mothers posted photos of their babies and then the kids or adults they’ve become. McEntire loved the viral trend, asking fans to “join in” the fun, and her followers loved to see her getting involved in it. “Reba participating in a trend we’ve all seen and done with our own children. She really is just another loving mama like us all!” one commented.

Others were shocked to see Blackstock all grown up, and loved following his journey through the years. “It’s amazing to see Shelby take that first solo flight. Such a huge milestone, proud of you!” wrote one, while another added, “Wishing him many more successful journeys ahead!”
