The stakes are higher than ever before on The Voice.

At the end of the Monday, May 5 episode of The Voice, host Carson Daly delivered jaw-dropping news to this year’s coaches: Kelsea Ballerini, Adam Levine, Michael Bublé and John Legend.

“Coaches, lend me your ears. I come with great news,” Daly, 51, said as the coaches waited with bated breath.

“We’ve always intended to keep the best artists on this show for the longest amount of time,” the host said, before revealing the big news: “We’re going to allow each of you to bring back one more artist for the Top 8 live shows.”

He added, “The super-save is on.”

All in complete shock, Legend, 46, shared, “Have you realize the stress you unnecessarily put on us? They didn’t tell me I was going to be able to pick three all along.”

“How did you keep this secret?” said Bublé, 49, before Ballerini, 31, added: “I’m overstimulated.”

Then, Daly instructed the coaches to deliver the good news to their contestants.

“We love a good plot twist,” said the “Blindsided” singer.

Then, Bublé — who chose his two live show contestants on Monday — was filmed walking to a dressing room to deliver the news.

Meanwhile, Levine, 46 said it was “pretty awesome that we get to do this” before he was shown FaceTiming an anonymous contestant.

“I’m really happy to tell you that you’re coming back,” the Maroon 5 frontman said to his phone, where the excited contestant was blurred out.

Then, a message appeared on the screen reading “Meet our super save artists in next week’s lives.”

On Monday night, Bublé chose Adam David and Jadyn Cree to move on to the live shows. Meanwhile, Legend chose RENZO and Bryson Battle.

Last week, Ballerini chose Iris Herrera and Alanna Lynise, while Levine chose Lucia Flores-Wiseman and Kolby Cordell.

On Tuesday, May 6, NBC will air a one-hour recap episode of Monday night’s part two of the playoffs.

preview for Ryan Seacrest's Net Worth Is Jaw-Dropping

Get ready for some more fun coming your way, American Idol fans!

The hit singing competition is wrapping up season 23, and fans have been waiting to learn if another season will be on the way. Well, we have good news as Deadline made a surprise announcement about the show’s future. On May 9, ABC (a.k.a. the network the show airs on) rolled out its list of reality TV shows that have been renewed, and we found out American Idol will indeed be returning for season 9 (season 24 overall) in 2026.

Shortly after the news broke online, American Idol confirmed the big reveal on Instagram. “Dim the lights… here we go,” read the official caption. “#AmericanIdol is coming back for another season! 🎶.”

As ecstatic as fans were about American Idol returning, they went to the comments to voice their feelings about the judges. Mainly, they want to see season 4 winner and current judge Carrie Underwood return to the show next year.

“YAY! Please make sure Carrie is a judge next season! She is super fun!! Love her so much!! ❤️,” one person begged. “We want Carrie Underwood back! 🥹❤️,” another declared. “I’m back if @carrieunderwood is back! She gets along so well with Luke and Lionel!” a different follower added.

As fans know, Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie have been on the show since it was rebooted back in 2018. But Carrie replaced Katy Perry as judge only in 2024. So, you can never be too sure about which judges are returning.

CARRIE Underwood’s furious off-camera reaction to American Idol fan-favorite Filo’s shocking elimination has been revealed.

The talented frontrunner, who many predicted would be a finalist on season 23, did not make the Top 10 – and cameras didn’t show the judges’ stunned response to the results bombshell.

After Ryan Seacrest, 50, announced American Idol’s Top 10 during Monday night’s show, the camera immediately panned to the contestants, who appeared noticeably stunned by the elimination.

The show did not include the judges’ reactions to Filo being sent home, but an insider present in the studio confirmed to The U.S. Sun that Carrie, Luke Bryan, and Lionel Richie were “furious.”

“When Filo got sent home, the entire studio was in absolute shock. It was by far the loudest gasp and by far the most stunned and upset the judges looked.

“All three were clearly upset by the results but Carrie appeared the most struck by it. Oh, she was not happy.

“She seemed really angry and also sad about it. She had a ‘WTF’ facial expression and was stunned speechless for several seconds.

“She just kind of lingered and looked forward and didn’t speak for several seconds as Filo said his goodbyes.

“Then her, Luke and Lionel whispered to each other very seriously. It was clear none of the three judges expected Filo to go home.

“And none of the three judges were happy about saying goodbye to someone who should’ve been a finalist,” the source said.

On Monday’s episode, Filo was joined by contestants Che and Breanna Nix as Ryan informed them that only one would make it into the Top 10.

When the longtime host read Breanna’s name, she immediately ran away with excitement as Che and Filo hugged on stage in disappointment.

According to the insider, as soon as it was revealed Filo’s time on the show was done, the entire studio began to chant his name.

“The crowd was chanting ‘Filo, Filo, Filo!’ for a minute or two even when cameras stopped rolling.

Carrie Underwood’s Impact on American Idol: Faith, Controversy, and Behind-The-Scenes Drama
“No one else got that kind of reaction except Filo. He took it really well but others didn’t.

“Everyone was really upset he got sent home over Breanna, who many feel didn’t deserve to go through over Filo,” they claimed.

Fans appeared just as angry, if not even more so, about Filo’s elimination and expressed their rage online after the results aired.

“Robbed!! You definitely deserved to be in the top 10!!! Amazing amazing voice,” one person wrote with a sad face emoji.

“How the HELL did Filo go home over anyone else?! He is the most talented this season,” another said.

While one more fired off: “This is so on-brand for American Idol. Every year, outstanding singers inexplicably leave early.

“Filo can sing better than at least 2 people who stayed.”

Joining Breanna in season 23’s Top 10 also include Slater Nalley, Thunderstorm Artis, Kolbi Jordan, Mattie Pruitt, Canaan James Hill, Gabby Samone, Josh King, John Foster, and Jamal Roberts.

Gayle King’s SHOCKING Question on ‘CBS Mornings’ – Gayle King’s unexpected and highly contentious question has sparked outrage and intense discussion across social media

Gayle King’s SHOCKING Question on ‘CBS Mornings’ – Did She Go TOO FAR?! Brace yourselves for the moment that has “CBS Mornings” viewers completely divided! Gayle King’s unexpected and highly contentious question has sparked outrage and intense discussion across social media.

‘CBS Mornings’ host Gayle King slammed after noting lack of ‘people of color’ at Trump inauguration

“CBS Mornings” co-host Gayle King sparked controversy after questioning why there weren’t “many people of color” during President Trump’s inauguration ceremony on Monday.

The anchor made the remark while offering commentary on the swearing-in ceremony as politicians, Supreme Court judges and dignitaries filtered into the US Capitol Rotunda.

“I do not see many people of color. Does anybody else besides me observe that?” King said. “I’m fascinated by why that is?”

Norah O’Donnell, who anchored the network’s coverage, then noted that the inauguration coincided with Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day before listing some prominent black leaders in attendance.

Megyn Kelly, the former Fox News primetime star, was among several critics who slammed King for her observation.

“Gayle King on cbs is questioning why there aren’t more ‘ppl of color’ at the inauguration. Of course,” the host of SiriusXM’s “The Megyn Kelly Show” wrote on X.

Aidan Kearney, a Trump-backing commentator, wrote: “The fact that this is the first thing you’re looking for is exactly why this guy is about to be inaugurated again.”

Tony Bruno, a former ESPN sports radio talk show host, wrote on X: “Watching your morning show (which very few do) what is the racial breakdown of your staff?”

Others, however, supported King’s point, noting that the audience was overwhelmingly white, including high-profile figures like tech billionaires Mark Zuckerberg, Jeff Bezos and Elon Musk.

A spokesperson for CBS declined to comment.

Among the people of color present at the inauguration were former President Barack Obama, former Vice President Kamala Harris, Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson and House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY).

Vice President JD Vance’s wife, Usha, a daughter of Indian immigrants, also attended.

One person who decided to skip the event was Michelle Obama, fueling ongoing speculation about her views on Trump and recent rumors regarding her marriage to the 44th president.

Trump used his inaugural address to proclaim the beginning of a “new golden age of America.”

One of his first policy priorities is the dismantling of diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) programs in federal institutions.

DEI remains a sensitive issue. Supporters claim it helps correct systemic discrimination against minorities while critics argue it results in discrimination against white and Asian Americans.

The kerfuffle over King’s comment comes as CBS parent company Paramount Global is reportedly considering settling a $10 billion lawsuit filed by Trump concerning a “60 Minutes” interview with Harris.

Trump's inauguration on Monday coincided with Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day -- the federal holiday honoring the slain civil rights leader.

The lawsuit alleges that CBS aired selectively edited versions of the interview to favor Harris during the election.

This legal dispute poses a potential obstacle to Paramount’s planned $8 billion merger with Skydance Media, as the Federal Communications Commission, led by incoming Chairman Brendan Carr, has indicated that Trump’s grievances with CBS News could complicate the process.

Price Is Right contestant sends host Drew Carey flying – and succeeded in pulling him to the ground.

Price Is Right contestant gets a little too over-enthusiastic and sends host Drew Carey flying

We appreciate the prospect of winning prizes on a game show might excite a few people – but this contestant just took it to the next level.

The over-enthusiastic woman in question had been taking part on the US TV staple The Price Is Right earlier this week, and got very excited when she made it through one round ahead of her competitors.

So excited, in fact, that she tried to grab host Drew Carey in a hug – and succeeded in knocking him over instead.

It’s safe to say we weren’t expecting that – and we’re not sure he was either. Although he and the contestant (who also ended up on the floor) did quickly get back on their feet again in a bid to regain some order.

We couldn’t imagine this happening on Alan Carr’s reboot of the show.

As it happened the contestant – who went by the name of Sona – had pretty short-lived celebrations, after she missed out on the jackpot prize when she failed to correctly guess the price of a car.

She did, however, go home with $3,000 so it wasn’t all bad news.

This wasn’t meant to happen (Picture: Price Is Right)
And it’s not the first time that someone’s ended up on the floor on The Price Is Right either – remember when this happened back in 2015?

This is clearly getting to be a Price is Right habit then…

The Price Is Right fans were left scratching their heads on June 26 when a contestant left the show partway through. Kathy Young lost out on a car and then disappeared, which caused host Drew Carey to explain her absence.

Young won the third item up for bid, which was workout equipment, costing $749, on the penultimate episode of the season. She bid $625 and got to come to the stage to play Gridlock. Young screamed and then calmly walked to the stage to meet Drew Carey.

The game show contestant thanked the show when they told her she had the chance to win a 2025 Toyota Corolla LE. In Gridlock, The Price Is Right contestant has to correctly guess the price of the car in order to win it. The first number is given, and then they have to pick one blue car and one orange car, which both have two numbers on it. They are the next four numbers in the car. If the numbers are right, they get to take the car home.

Young was given two as the first number. She then turned to the audience for advice on the second. Young picked 41 as the second set. She was right and moved on to the last set of numbers. For the last two numbers, Young picked 20.

This made the price of the car $24,120. Young was wrong, but got one more chance to correct herself. Between 57 and 95, Young chose 95, making the vehicle $24,195. She was wrong, so she did not win the $24,157 car.

Carey said that she was going to spin the wheel when the game show came back from commercial, but she wasn’t there when it returned. “We only have two players for the Showcase Showdown because contestant Kathy had an emergency and she was unable to continue,” the host shared. “She’s not going to be able to continue. We’re going to have two spinners. Good luck to them.”

As Brigit spun the wheel, Carey said, “We hope Kathy is ok!”

Brigit went over, and Tawab wound up winning the Showdown.

At the end of the Showcase, the host said again, “Sending our best to Kathy. We hope she’s ok!” During the closing credits, the following update appeared: “A contestant on this episode could not continue, but will be receiving their prizes.”

“I’ve never in the history of watching this show seen 2 contestants at the wheel. I hope it was just an upset stomach or something,” a Reddit user said.

“That was a first,” said another.

“I hope she’s ok. Unless it was an extreme situation, they could have just brought the wheel out and did the first showcase showdown like they did under the old taping format,” added a third.

“Yeah, I never heard of this before either. hope whatever happened was mild and Kathy’s okay and well,” wrote another.

The Price Is Right released a statement to TV Insider about Young. They didn’t reveal what happened to the contestant, but are inviting her back.

“Due to unforeseen circumstances, one of our contestants was unfortunately unable to complete her time on a recent episode of The Price Is Right. We are pleased to share that Kathy has been invited to return as our special member of our audience for a future show taping. We look forward to the opportunity to welcome her back and extend our sincere thanks to Kathy —and to all of our loyal viewers—for being such an incredible part of our television family.

    -The Price Is Right Production.”

Young will have to return for an episode on Season 54 as Season 53 wrapped up on Friday, June 27.

Hayu just dropped the trailer for The Real Housewives of London, but Andy Cohen hasn’t bothered to watch it. The head honcho of all things Housewives just reiterated on his radio show that he has absolutely nothing to do with the upcoming franchise. If it’s not on Bravo, then Andy isn’t involved. This also means fans in the United States are in for a rude awakening when the series premieres next month.

During the Wednesday, July 16 episode of Sirius XM’s Andy Cohen Live, his producer asked him to weigh in on the trailer, which featured cameos from Bravo stars Dorinda Medley and Caroline Stanbury. That’s when Andy admitted that he hadn’t seen it, while distancing himself from the franchise altogether.

“I heard the trailer came out. I’m glad you brought that up because a couple of people mentioned it to me yesterday,” Andy began.

“I don’t have anything to do with this show. Bravo doesn’t have anything to do with this show. This is an overseas version of the Housewives,” he continued.

Of course, Andy helped create The Real Housewives and serves as an executive producer on all of the franchises that air on Bravo. RHOLDN is Hayu’s show. They’re licensing the Housewives name, just like the various Housewives series across Australia and Africa.

Andy continued, “We produce the American Housewives, and [Real Housewives of] Dubai, and of course, [Real Housewives] Ultimate Girls Trip. This was produced in the UK, and it’s for Hayu, which is one of our streamers, so I haven’t seen it. I don’t know anything about it.”

For those of us trying to follow along, this can be a little confusing. Hayu airs all of Bravo’s content outside of the United States. They’re a subsidiary of NBCUniversal. However, RHOLDN is a Hayu exclusive, which means Housewives fans in the United States won’t be able to tune in without a VPN.

“I don’t believe it’s going to be on Bravo or Peacock,” Andy added. “It has nothing to do with us.”

The Real Housewives of London premieres with Hayu on Monday, August 18.

The cancelation of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert is still causing shockwaves in the world of entertainment and beyond, with the likes of Jimmy Kimmel, Andy Cohen, and others blasting CBS for its decision.

Colbert broke the shocking news to viewers while recording his show on Thursday (July 17), saying he was informed by bosses at CBS and Paramount the night before that The Late Show would be ending in May 2026.

“It’s not just the end of our show, but it’s the end of the Late Show on CBS,” the long-time late-night host said as the studio audience booed. “I’m not being replaced, this is all just going away.”

After the news spread, several celebrities and politicians weighed in on the surprising news, including fellow late-night host Kimmel. The ABC star took to his Instagram Story, writing, “Love you Stephen. F*** you and all your Sheldons CBS.”

Watch What Happens Live host Cohen also weighed in on the situation on the red carpet for the Las Culturistas Culture Awards. “I think it’s a sad day for late-night television,” he told Deadline. “I think it’s a sad day for CBS. I think Stephen Colbert is a singular talent. He’s going to have an incredible next chapter.”

Cohen continued, “I can’t believe CBS is turning off the lights at 11:30 after the local news. I’m stunned. He’s one of three late-night shows deemed worthy enough for an Emmy nomination. He produces a brilliant show.”

After noting how he spent ten years working at CBS, which he described as a “powerhouse in late-night television,” the Bravo star reiterated, “It’s sad for CBS, really.”

Others also commented on Instagram, including The Late Show band leader Jon Batiste, who wrote of Colbert, “The greatest to ever do it. ”

“Love you Stephen. This is absolute bulls***, and I for one am looking forward to the next 10 months of shows. ✊😡💔”,  added Severance star Adam Scott.

“My admiration and appreciation for you is bottomless. Excited to see what other brilliance you put into the world,” said filmmaker Judd Apatow.

Over on X, Severance director Ben Stiller added, “Sorry to hear @CBS is canceling one of the best shows they have. Wishing all the people who work so hard on that show all the best.”

While CBS cited financial reasons for the cancelation, others have speculated the decision was made due to Colbert’s criticism of Paramount’s recent settlement with President Donald Trump. This comes amid Paramount Global’s proposed merger with Skydance Media, which requires regulatory approval from the Trump administration.

Sports journalist Jemele Hill wrote on X, “I’m not crazy for thinking that this was related to Colbert criticizing the network, am I? Also something I’ve thought about — Trump put pressure on CBS to cancel Colbert.”

Sen. Elizabeth Warren, who opened an investigation in May into whether Paramount was engaging in bribery with Trump, also questioned the motives behind the axing. “CBS canceled Colbert’s show just THREE DAYS after Colbert called out CBS parent company Paramount for its $16M settlement with Trump – a deal that looks like bribery,” she wrote on X. “America deserves to know if his show was canceled for political reasons.”

Sen. Adam Schiff noted, “Just finished taping with Stephen Colbert who announced his show was cancelled. If Paramount and CBS ended the Late Show for political reasons, the public deserves to know. And deserves better.”

The fall season is approaching quickly, and while premiere dates and timeslots may be hard to keep track of, there’s always the promise of being able to stream your favorite network hits and new series in case you miss the broadcast.

While some premiere dates and lineups have been revealed, a few things are certain, and that’s where several of the big network titles from ABC, CBS, NBC, and Fox will stream.

Making some things simple, many of the networks align with specific platforms, meaning most CBS hits will stream on Paramount+, ABC’s slate always streams on Hulu, as does Fox, and NBC’s broadcast hits stream on its in-house platform, Peacock.

Still, some particulars about studios and long-standing deals mean a lot of the shows stream on more than one service, and depending on what streamer you have, premium subscriptions and add-ons mean you can likely access more than a few of these shows on one platform.

Even with the workaround, there’s still a consistent breakdown of where you can catch the upcoming broadcast slate on streaming.

Skydance announced plans to purchase Paramount Global on July 7, which is the parent company of Comedy Central, and the home of The Daily Show and South Park, among other properties and networks under the Paramount umbrella.

Stewart, on his podcast The Weekly Show with Jon Stewart, commented on the future of The Daily Show following the announcement of the Skydance merger:

Unfortunately, we haven’t heard anything from them. They haven’t called me and said like, ‘Don’t get too comfortable in that office, Stewart.’ But let me tell you something, I’ve been kicked out of s******r establishments than that. We’ll land on our feet.

What Jon Stewart’s Comments Mean About The Future Of The Daily Show

Nothing Guaranteed, But Recent Events Cast Doubt On Its Future

Despite its 12 nominations at the 77th Primetime Emmy Awards, The Daily Show has been under fire due to its coverage of President Donald Trump. Stewart, who returned to the program in 2024, was a vocal critic of Trump throughout the 2024 election, and has maintained this criticism throughout the first months of his second term.

In addition to the Trump coverage, Jon Stewart has been a loud critic of the recently settled Paramount Global $16 million lawsuit brought by the President over a 60 Minutes interview that aired with Kamala Harris. Stewart seemed less than certain of the show’s future, in spite of The Daily Show‘s recent major success in the ratings.

I’d like to believe that without The Daily Show… I don’t know. Comedy Central is kind of like muzak at this point. I think we’re the only sort of life that exists on a current basis other than South Park. But it’s the only thing on there. I’d like to think we bring enough value to the property. If they’re looking at it as purely a real estate transaction, I think we bring a lot of value. But that may not be their consideration. They may sell the whole f****** place for parts, I just don’t know. We’ll deal with it when we do.

Our Take On The Potential Cancellation Of The Daily Show

We’re Hoping It’s Not True, But It Doesn’t Look Good Right Now

While Jon Stewart didn’t explicitly express a known or implied cancellation, it’s clear that he is already considering what would happen next, if the show was axed after the merger. His comments are clearly skewing negative, and his comments are enough to strike fear in the hearts of fans. The Daily Show is a marketable property, however, and the idea of it moving to another network or a streaming platform is highly likely. Stewart’s comments about ‘landing on our feet’ lend credence to this, suggesting that he thinks that the show will either be successful enough to continue, or find another home elsewhere.

A Skydance cancellation could bring unintended consequences that allow the show to elevate past its current place in the field. A move to Netflix or Peacock could bring additional added bonuses and viewers to an already popular program, now without restrictions. In a landscape where streaming services are able to boost the popularity of shows to a huge degree (like the recent success of the CW’s Sullivan’s Crossing after its release on Netflix), a cancellation may even be a blessing in disguise for The Daily Show.
