“Are You Okay?” Wheel Of Fortune Star Bench Pressed By Contestant During Shocking Game Show Episode

wheel of fortune host ryan seacrest laughing with two contestants on the set

Wheel of Fortune star got a little more than he bargained for when a recent contestant used him to prove his strength. The classic game show has been on the air since 1975, but, of course, it’s gone through many changes in those years as it attempted to remain relevant in a changing culture, including changes to the Wheel of Fortune host as Ryan Seacrest took over for Pat Sajak in 2024.

TV Insider reported that in a recent episode, which originally aired in December 2024, Ryan let contestant Will McHugh bench press him after finding out that Will benched 315 pounds. “Wait, 315? That’s three of me, 315 pounds,” Ryan said, to which Will replied, “If I laid down, I could probably bench ya.”

Will put his money where his mouth was by laying down and bench pressing Ryan, who flailed above him. As Ryan toppled over Will, Will asked, “Are you okay? to which the affable Ryan replied, “I’m great, Will. Thank you very much.” Will shared a clip of the encounter on his TikTok page.

What Ryan Seacrest Having Fun With Contestant Means For Wheel Of Fortune

    Ryan Seacrest Is A Showman

As a radio and TV veteran, Ryan has been in the industry long enough to know what will play to audiences. He’s also not above making himself the butt of a joke, as he did in this bench pressing situation.

Ryan didn’t pretend to know anything about working out, but when he found out that this particular player could bench press three times his body weight, Ryan didn’t hesitate to turn it into a bit.

Ryan is a true professional, but he plays with his image by partaking in gags like this one. Ryan’s often the “straight man,” meaning he’s the professional, polished one, so letting a contestant on Wheel of Fortune bench press him as he gets out of his comfort zone is something that is appealing to viewers.

Our Take On Ryan Seacrest Being Bench Pressed By Contestant

Ryan Seacrest Will Do Anything For A Bit

american idol star ryan seacrest smilng in a suit with a blue white and purple background

Ryan was game to let the Wheel of Fortune player prove his strength by using Ryan as a weight. It was a silly bit, but seeing Ryan out of his element made it memorable. As his arms and legs flailed, Ryan kept his cool, making the bit even funnier. It was a light moment that allowed the Wheel of Fortune contestant to play around before getting down to the serious business of winning serious money.

Ryan has the ability to play around with the contestants on Wheel of Fortune or with his other hosting gig on American Idol while still keeping the show moving forward, and that’s what makes him a great host. He’s always game for fun, but he can keep it moving, which is why his career has lasted as long as it has.

Wheel of Fortune streams weeknights. Please check your local listings for time and channel.

Here’s when The Voice returns for Season 28. Marks your calendar!

The red chairs are set and the Blind Auditions are imminent. The Voice is coming back for Season 28 and will feature four Coaches you’ve seen and loved before. Learn all the details, here.

Here’s when The Voice returns for Season 28

The Voice Season 28 returns this fall (2025) to NBC, occupying its usual time slots: Mondays and Tuesdays at 8/7c. Reba McEntire, Niall Horan, Snoop Dogg, and Michael Bublé will return as Coaches.

How The Voice has changed from Season 1 to now

“It used to just be kind of crazy,” OG Coach Adam Levine told NBC Insider. “We were like the [Rolling] Stones or something. It was like chaos. [Coach] CeeLo [Green] had a bird. We were like a punk rock band. It was wild thinking back on it; it was so out of control.” Alongside Green and Levine, Christina Aguilera and Blake Shelton rounded out the first Coach quartet.

As Levine has matured, so has the show. “The general tone and  the efficiency of the show, I know that sounds really weird, has gotten so pleasant,” Levine said. “It’s just gotten so different, in a good way, and efficient, and kind of mellow. As boring as that may sound, it’s actually really wonderful. And I’m so proud.”

Why Blake Shelton left The Voice after Season 23

One familiar face not coming back? Longtime Coach Blake Shelton. Shelton left The Voice in May 2023 to make more time to be a stepfather to his wife Gwen Stefani’s children. “I think being a stepdad has changed my perspective in that I’m not the first person that I think about anymore,” he told Access Hollywood in January 2023. “Even to the small little things when you go, ‘I think I’ll do this,’ the very next thought is always, ‘Well, wait a minute. How’s that going work?’ Or, ‘What will they think?’ Or, ‘How will that affect a schedule?’”

“I think the only way for me to really do that right is to step away from being committed to something like The Voice that demands a lot of your time,” he continued. “There’s no way around it. If you’re going to do it and do it right, you have to be 150 percent in. And I just feel like those days are behind me for now. I got a more important job.”

Is there a release date for The Voice season 28?

Presently, there’s no official release date for The Voice season 28. But NBC Insider clued fans in to when the new season will likely premiere. According to the outlet, fans can expect The Voice season 28 to premiere sometime in fall 2025 on NBC. This follows the pattern the show has had since its 2011 premiere. Two seasons of The Voice air every year — one in early winter, and one in the fall.

After appearing on The Voice for seasons 24 through 26, Reba McEntire is officially back after a hiatus to be a coach for The Voice season 28. Along with being a well-loved country music superstar and actress, she previously won season 25 with Asher HaVon.
Niall Horan is back as a coach after being on The Voice for seasons 23 and 24. He also won both times he was a mentor on the show, with Gina Miles winning season 23 and Huntley claiming victory in season 24.
Back for his third season in a row, Michael Bublé is the current winning coach on The Voice. His season 26 artist Sofronio Vasquez emerged as the winner in his installment, while Adam David won season 27 in May 2025.
Debuting as a coach back in season 26, rap legend Snoop Dogg is ready to see if one of his artists can make it all the way to the top. Presently, he is the only coach from the quartet not to have won on the show.

    Exclusive

    Sonja Fleming/CBS

The Price Is Right announcer George Gray is a much-loved fixture on the show. His voice is heard throughout every episode as he calls everyone down and introduces the prizes. In an exclusive interview with TV Insider, Gray said how everyone at the game show is like family and shared a heartwarming ritual that he and host Drew Carey do before every episode.

When asked if he would change anything about The Price is Right, Gray joked that he would make Drew Carey the announcer and himself the host.

“No, I really like the way it is, and I do joke around all the time that Drew is my work wife,” he said. “We see each other in the morning before we go on stage, and we’ll walk past each other like the old Wile E. Coyote cartoons from Warner Brothers. ‘Morning, Sam, Martin, Ralph.’ We’ll say that to each other. And then, we really chat for the first time.”

“Pretty much when we’re on stage, during the commercial breaks, Drew and I don’t leave the stage. He stays out there, takes questions, we goof off, have fun, and that’s when we will ask about how our weekends were. That’s when we chat. So to me, I love that. And he says that too, that that’s his favorite part of the show is just kind of goofing off and hanging out with the audience. And to me, that’s my favorite part, too.”

However, Gray shared that he does love it when new games are introduced. “It’s always fun to play a new one and it’s always fun for me because sometimes they’ll have me on stage and modeling — I use that term very loosely with me — an item, or play a game, or if it’s a go-kart, I’ll drive it in. If it’s a treadmill, I’ll fall off, stuff like that,” Gray said.

When they are done filming for the day, the announcer said that most of the time they all go home because they’re exhausted, but sometimes Gray, Carey, and the models go to a vintage bar restaurant on some Fridays that is down the street from the studio.

“And we’ll hop over there just, have a couple and laugh and with the crew too. So, it’s a very tight-knit family. We all get along wonderfully. Everybody hugs. We all say ‘I love you.’ It really is a family. And so even if we’re exhausted, it’s, ‘I’ll see you tomorrow.’ We’ve traveled together, gone to Vegas together, gone to New York together — all through Drew, who throws together the trip because he’s amazing and generous, and that makes the family really tight.”

Come on down to the 10,000th episode of 'The Price Is Right' - Los Angeles Times

Gray, who has been the announcer since 2011, also thinks that the reason The Price is Right has lasted for over 10,000 episodes is because the contestants are also sort of like family and all root for each other.

“Well, it’s just my opinion, but I think that one of the reasons Price is so popular is and just think about this. Think about a competitive sport, whatever you want to play, you want to win, and you either don’t get to play or you don’t get to win, and you cheer for the other person. That doesn’t happen. It doesn’t happen anywhere, but it happens with Price,” he said.

“You want to get called on down, and if you do, you want to get up on stage, but if you don’t, you’re cheering for the person who effectively beat you. You want them to win badly. And that’s really awesome that everybody pitches and everybody wants everybody to win. You’ll help the person that’s up there instead of you. It’s just one of those things where everybody, all the outside world, just sort of goes away temporarily and it just becomes about that, and everybody getting together and having fun and winning a hang gliding trip to Norway.”

‘Jeopardy!’: Fans Want These Changes in Season 42

    Jeopardy! set

Season 41 of Jeopardy! is coming to a close, and fans are already making a wishlist for changes they are hoping for next season. The last episode of the season will air on Friday, July 25, and then resume with Season 42 in September.

“There were changes to the set a month into the season. No, the show did not receive an entirely new set; it’s still the same one that we’ve had since Season 30, but with more modifications. The single biggest change was the game board becoming one large screen. Other changes included a new monitor for Final Jeopardy, and the golden arches on the stage floor were replaced with circle outlines. Last but not least, a physical Jeopardy! logo was added on top of the set when the postseason tournaments began,” a Reddit user said.

The original poster went on to say that they hope for a new title card and graphics package, which others agreed with. They also want new theme and think music. The current music has been the same since Season 25.

As for set changes, fans hope to see the Jeopardy! logo behind host Ken Jennings‘ head moved to a different spot, making the lecterns look more modern, and new LED fixtures added behind the backdrop.

One issue that a lot of fans agreed on is increasing the value of the clues. Aside from Daily Double wagers, the highest clue value is $2,000. “It’s the 25th anniversary of increasing the clue values. They need to be increased again, it’s way overdue,” a Reddit user said. Many agreed with the comments, with some saying the values should be “retroactive.”

One big change that almost all of the fans agreed on is the tournaments. Some think there are too many, others think they should be spaced out. One fan thinks that since Jeopardy! Masters and Celebrity! Jeopardy received low ratings, and they should be canceled, but Celebrity Jeopardy! was already renewed for a fourth season.

“Space out the tournaments more evenly instead of holding them back-to-back. For example, hold Second Chance in November, Champions Wild Card in February, and then ToC in May,” one fan said. “Scrap Second Chance and Champions Wild Card altogether, and bring back the other annual tournaments that are currently on hiatus, such as the Teen Tournament and College Championship.”

“Don’t make Jeopardy Invitational an annual thing because after two years, viewers are beginning to get fatigued from that one. Instead, hold it once every few or so years, like during a milestone season/event. Also, JIT doesn’t need to be held right after ToC; there can be several weeks of regular play, and then do JIT.”

Others want the tournaments to go back to the old format, meaning the two-week, 15-player format from the Alex Trebek era.

“Hoping the tournament of champions can go back to the old format, but it seemed impossible. Any tournament using the standard 15-person lineup is pretty good already. And I think it’s hard for people with only 4 wins or more advancing. In season 41 TOC, there was a need since there were insufficient spaces for 15. The old tournaments like Teen, College, and Teachers Tournament are OK to revive!” said another.

“My view is that while I like and appreciate the tournament structure, it really needs to be clearly set out for fans what it’s going to be and it can’t be changed on a whim when most of the people that watch this program are not online all the time. You need to really spell it out for folks. I would also like to see an explainer about why these players need a second chance or got into champions wild card for people that might not remember who they are,” one last fan said.

What changes do you hope are made in Season 42? Do you agree that there are too many tournaments? Let us know in the comments.

The Late Show with Stephen Colbert is coming to an end on CBS.

In a release sent by the network, it was announced that the show will end its run in May 2026 at the end of the broadcast season. “We consider Stephen Colbert irreplaceable and will retire The Late Show franchise at that time. We are proud that Stephen called CBS home. He and the broadcast will be remembered in the pantheon of greats that graced late-night television.”

“Our admiration, affection, and respect for the talents of Stephen Colbert and his incredible team made this agonizing decision even more difficult. Stephen has taken CBS late night by storm with cutting-edge comedy, a must-watch monologue and interviews with leaders in entertainment, politics, news and newsmakers across all areas. The show has been #1 in late night for nine straight seasons; Stephen’s comedy resonates daily across digital and social media; and the broadcast is a staple of the nation’s zeitgeist,” read the statement.

The news was also broken by host Colbert, first to his studio audience, then via Instagram post shared on July 17.

According to the statement, the decision was purely financial decision and “not related in any way to the show’s performance, content or other matters happening at Paramount.”

“Before we start the show, I want to let you know something that I found out just last night. Next year, will be our last season. The network will be ending The Late Show in May,” Colbert told to an astonished studio audience, who immediately began booing at the news. “Yeah. I shared your feelings.”

“It’s not just the end of our show, but it’s the end of The Late Show on CBS. I’m not being replaced. This is all just going away,” continued Colbert. “And I do want to say that the folks at CBS have been great partners.”

During the heartfelt announcement, Colbert gave his thanks to the audience, his band, and his crew who worked by his side since 2015, when he took over hosting duties from David Letterman.

“I am deeply grateful to the 200 people who work here. We get to do this show for each other, every day, all day. And I get the pleasure and responsiblity of sharing what we do every day with you in front of this camera for the last 10 years. And let me tell you, it’s a fantastic job.”

Prior to hosting The Late Show, Colbert was a correspondent on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart and the host of The Colbert Report, a spin-off of The Daily Show.

Though the statement released by CBS cited financial reasons for ending the program, people are speculating that other reasons might be the cause. The Late Show‘s latest guest, Senator Adam Schiff, took to X (formerly Twitter) for another take on the situation.

“Just finished taping with Stephen Colbert who announced his show was cancelled. If Paramount and CBS ended the Late Show for political reasons, the public deserves to know. And deserves better,” wrote the Senator.

“On the one hand: There *is* an economic rationale for this. Late night shows aren’t cheap (w/ giant talent salaries) and they don’t deliver traditional strong ratings anymore. Other hand: I don’t believe them. It’s not the money in this case,” wrote @MichaelSocolow.

CBS is cancelling the Late Show with Stephen Colbert. This comes after the network caved to Donald Trump and settled a lawsuit,” wrote an account titled Protect Kamala Harris.

News of the late-night show’s cancellation follows Paramount’s agreement to a $16 million settlement with President Trump, who accused CBS’s 60 Minutes of deceptively editing a 2024 interview with then-Vice President Kamala Harris. No apology was issued, but as part of the deal, 60 Minutes must now release full transcripts of future candidate interviews.

Colbert ended his announcement with, “I wish someone else was getting it. And it’s a job I’m looking forward to doing with this usual gang of idiots for another 10 months.”

This year, as in previous years, The Price Is Right will be honoring first responders who will get to compete on a special July 4 edition of the show.

However, this episode will be a little different because all of the first responders are local to California. Many of them fought to put out the Los Angeles fires that struck the city in January. The 14 destructive Southern California fires affected multiple areas in the state and destroyed millions of homes and filming locations. They started on January 1 and were completely extinguished on January 30.

Firefighters, paramedics, and police officers will “come on down” to play for big cash, cars, and exciting prizes, including a luxury boat and camper trailer perfect for summer getaways and vacations with thrilling outdoor adventures.

“Today’s a really special day. We’ve got heroes in the audience, especially all those who helped with the LA fires. They were horrific,” host Drew Carey gives a special message at the beginning of the episode.

Seen in a clip provided by the game show, a contestant named Daniel, who works for the Oxford Fire Department, got the chance to win a big prize. POLICE AT THE SCENE

    KNN News
Our sources say police found no signs of a break-in when they responded to the 911 call last week … we’re told a LAPD helicopter flew over the house but the suspect was not there when cops arrived.

Robin Kaye, an award-winning music supervisor on “American Idol,” was found dead inside her Los Angeles home … and TMZ has learned she and her husband, Thomas Deluca, were the victims of a gruesome double murder.

Our law enforcement sources tell us the bodies of the couple were discovered Monday inside their house in Encino after LAPD officers showed up for a welfare check.

    SUSPECT IN CUSTODY

Our sources say the incident is being investigated as a double homicide.

It’s interesting … cops were previously called to the home Thursday … an unidentified suspect was seen trying to gain entry and may have been armed with a firearm. Neighbors say someone spotted a person hopping a fence and called police … officers responded but found no signs of forced entry and searched the property before leaving. Its unclear if this incident is related to the homicides.

During a welfare check Monday, cops told neighbors family members had not heard from the couple in 4 days. It’s unclear who called for the welfare check.

Robin worked as the music supervisor on ‘Idol’ for at least 15 seasons, according to her IMDB page, and she won multiple Guild of Music Supervisors Awards for her work on the show. She also served as music supervisor on “Lip Sync Battle” and a bunch of other shows.

The home Robin and Thomas lived in has some celeb history … we did some digging and found out it was previously owned by late rapper Juice WRLD.

We reached out to “American Idol” … so far, no word back.
