The Price is Right’s Drew Carey blasted for ‘stupid’ moment in most basic round as fans ask ‘can we stop?’

During the footage, contestant Lynn spun The Big Wheel for a chance to win $1,000.

Drew, 66, continued the tradition from his late predecessor, Bob Barker, yubi, and asked the player to give a shout-out to their family.

“You wanna say hi?” the host asked.

After spinning the wheel, Lynn turned to the camera and listed her loved ones.

“To my husband Greg, my daughter Allison, my son-in-law Ryan, and my grandson Beau,” Lynn said during her shout-out.

She did not realize the wheel stopped and landed on the 100 mark.

Drew interrupted and pointed his finger at the camera.

Lynn screamed and jumped up and down on the The Price is Right stage.

She went on to win $10,000 after the next spin.

“Lady has pinpoint control at the wheel,” the video text read.

“That’s how it’s done,” the caption stated.

THE BACKLASH

In the comments section, critics slammed the wholesome part of the contestants saying hi to their family while the wheel is spinning.

“Can we stop with the ‘Say hi?’ and build up the excitement with the contestant as a good amount approaches? It’s so lackluster!” one critic trolled.

“Especially when the contestant goes on for like five minutes. It’s kind of stupid. And cringy!” another critic added.

“It takes their attention away from a life-changing moment in their lives when cash is about to enter the chat,” another critic argued.

The Price is Right Hosts

The Price is Right first came on TV in 1972. Fans fell in love with the game show so much that it has been on for over 50 years. Throughout that time, the show has had a few different hosts. Find out who they are below.

Bob Barker – 1972 to June 2007 (also became executive producer in 1988)

Drew Carey – October 2007 to present

Dennis James – filled in for Bob in 1974 when he missed four episodes, also hosted the nighttime version

Craig Ferguson – 2014 April Fools Day Special

“If you’re still talking while the wheel is done, you should be disqualified!” a fourth person wrote.

“It’s annoying! This lady was so busy talking! [Lynn] didn’t even realize she was about to win!” a commentator chimed.

In 1972, Bob became the host and retired in 2007, which is when Drew took over.

‘SERIOUSLY?’

This is not the only time a contestant has angered viewers.

In late May, a player wasted his turn with an over-the-top bid.

Contest Nicholas had to guess the price of a set of workout equipment, including a vertical knee-raise station and a spin bike.

“I’m gonna say $1 million,” Nicholas said as he shocked the audience.

“Seriously?,” Drew asked.

The actual retail value for the workout equipment was $1,798, which was nowhere near Nicholas’ guess.

One viewer blasted the “stupidest bid ever,” while another ranted, “$ 1 million for an exercise bike? Come on.”
