Shifting Gears continues to entertain viewers as Season 1 unfolds on ABC, but will the series be strong enough to score a second season?

While it’s a little too early to make any judgment calls, we’re looking at all the possibilities regarding the show’s potential Season 2 return, ranging from when it would likely air to who is most likely to star.

Has Shifting Gears been renewed for Season 2?

Kat Dennings and Tim Allen in 'Shifting Gears'

    Disney / Raymond Liu

No, the series hasn’t been renewed for a second season yet, but its first two episodes delivered a solid audience with the premiere pulling in 6.099 million viewers and the second installment landing 4.561 million viewers. Despite the drop in viewership, Shifting Gears‘ audience is slightly larger than ABC’s award-winning comedy Abbott Elementary, which has averaged 2.428 viewers in its ongoing fourth season. The established comedy has already been renewed for a fifth season, which bodes well for Shifting Gears. But keep an eye out for potential renewal news and updates.

Who would star in Shifting Gears Season 2?

The ensemble would likely see the return of leads Tim Allen and Kat Dennings who plays father-daughter duo Matt and Riley. Both Seann William Scott and Daryl Mitchell would also likely be back with Dennings’ onscreen kids played by Maxwell Simkins and Barrett Margolis. But only time will tell for certain.

What would Shifting Gears Season 2 be about?

The show currently follows the rocky relationship of estranged father and daughter Matt and Riley after she shows up with her kids and informs him that she’s in the midst of a divorce and needs somewhere to stay. While Season 1 may still be unfolding, it’s clear that this series will always follow the trials and tribulations of familial differences as Matt and Riley attempt to restore their father-daughter relationship.

Stay tuned for any updates and news about the show’s potential Season 2 return, and let us know if you’d like to see the show continue its run on ABC.

Wheel of Fortune’s Vanna White reveals the ‘only time’ she’s made a mistake on long-running game show

GAME show icon Vanna White is known for her stunning looks and charisma, but she recently revealed that she isn’t always on her A-game.

Vanna opened up in a recent interview about the one time she made a mistake on Wheel of Fortune.

Ahead of Pat Sajak’s retirement, Vanna sat down with TV Insider to reflect on the 42 years of memories the two have on the show.

Vanna could only come up with one instance when asked if she’s ever made a mistake during her tenure.

She revealed that the puzzle answer was either “Dr. Spock” or “Mr. Spock” and she accidentally turned over the wrong first letter.

Vanna couldn’t remember whether the correct answer was a “D” or an “M,” but she distinctly recalled flipping over the wrong letter.

“I looked up and it was not the letter that [the contestant] called. But that was the only time,” she explained.

Despite the flub, Vanna still has an incredible resume, having only made one mistake throughout her 42-year career.

    THE DYNAMIC DUO

Pat Sajak and Vanna White have cemented themselves as one of television’s most dynamic duos.

The two have starred on Wheel of Fortune for 42 years.

They made their debuts on the show in 1982 and have hosted the show alongside one another ever since.

When reminiscing over her career, she detailed her first day on the show to TV Insider.

Wheel of Fortune’s Vanna White admits she considered retiring with host Pat Sajak as she reveals her future on show
“I remember being extremely nervous. It was hard for me to even talk. My mouth was just shaking out of nerves because it was, ‘I can’t believe this is happening. I’m on a TV show,’” she recalled.

Vanna credited her co-star Pat for helping her calm down and added, “He was my teacher.”

After over four decades and 8,000 shows, the two are finally splitting up professionally following Pat’s retirement.

“I sum it up as [like] reading a good book. It always has to end. This has been the best book I’ve ever read,” Vanna said of Pat’s retirement.

    SHE’S STAYING

Even though Pat will be leaving Wheel after the season finale, Vanna will continue on the show.

She signed a two-year contract, extending her tenure to at least 2026.

The show’s 42nd season is set to kick off this fall, starring Vanna alongside new host Ryan Seacrest.

Fans have already seen a sneak peek into the new duo’s chemistry as Vanna appeared on a recent episode of American Idol with Ryan.

    Wheel of Fortune host timeline

Premiering in 1975, the beloved game show has had a few different iconic hosts in its nearly 50 seasons.

1975 – 1981 : Chuck Woolery was the original host of Wheel of Fortune until he departed in 1981.

1981 – June 2024: Pat Sajak took over and became a beloved Wheel of Fortune host for over 40 years.

September 2024: Ryan Seacrest was declared the newest host as Sajak announced his retirement.

“I’m so excited to get to work with you, and I thought maybe we could work together right now, so would you like to help me with the next finalist introduction?” Ryan asked after introducing her to the audience as a “national treasure.”

Vanna then performed her signature move of turning over puzzle squares, revealing the name of the next contestant to take the stage.

The two also starred in a recent promotional video for the show’s upcoming season.

Pat’s last show is set to air on June 7.

Vanna revealed that she considered leaving as well, but admitted that she just wasn’t ready yet.

“We’ll see toward the end of those two years how I feel. I thank God after all these years that I still love my job,” she told TV Insider.

Wheel of Fortune airs every weekday at 7:30 pm EST on ABC.

The Price Is Right host Drew Carey apologizes to contestant for making mistake during game

Drew Carey quickly recovered from a flub during The Price Is Right that could’ve crushed a contestant’s hopes.

Carey, 66, is coming up on 17 years as host of the popular game show, which features pricing games and sometimes even unique contestants.

That includes a The Price Is Right contestant fans called out on social media for “bullying” and “disgusting” behavior when she appeared on another TV show.

Viewers have also seen Carey get involved in kicking a game when it wouldn’t work correctly for a contestant.

More recently, viewers saw a clip where a man participated in a game with a brand-new car on the line.

Carey’s sudden mistake during the reveal of the game results came with an apology to the contestant and a quick recovery.

Drew Carey made a key mistake during a pricing game

During the popular Dice Game, a contestant, Joseph, attempted to roll a die to determine each number in the price of the car he was playing to win. Rolling a one or six is ideal in the game because it requires no guessing. The number is correct, lower than a six, or higher than a one.

His first two rolls resulted in a three and a two. The contestant consulted with audience members and selected “higher” for the numbers in the car’s price slots.

His third roll was six, and Carey automatically said it had to be “lower than a six,” so it was a “winner.”

The final roll of the die resulted in a two, and again, the contestant said he’d go “higher” for the final number in the car’s price. From there, Carey began to ask for the reveal of each number.

“Let’s start out with this one higher than a six, please,” he incorrectly announced since it’s supposed to be lower.

“Oh, sorry, lower than a six,” he quickly said, adding, “Haven’t had my coffee.”

“Lower than a six is a four,” he announced after the reveal of the number.

Carey recovered after his mistake, correctly asking for the reveal of other numbers.

Three of the numbers were correct, so it came down to the final number in the price of the car. The contestant had rolled two and chose “higher” for that number.

“Surely this wouldn’t be a one after all that, Joseph,” Carey said to dial up the suspense.

Thankfully for Joseph, the final number was higher, and he won that brand-new car despite the earlier mixup from Carey!

Price Is Right' contestant takes jab at host Drew Carey

Viewers previously called out another Dice Game winner

While some viewers love seeing the Dice Game as part of The Price Is Right, others feel contestants might easily win using a strategy or even that the game is “rigged.”

Monsters and Critics reported that fans called out a previous winner for seemingly having a trick for rolling the die to get one or six each time.

The “EPIC dice game sweep” video below shows that the contestant rolled six, six, one, and six.

“You got a car!” Carey announced, adding, “That was insane. That was amazing.”

However, commenters reacted with some bringing up his technique. One commenter mentioned that “he started every roll with the six facing the wall” and called it “a smart move.”

Others claimed he had “dice at home that he rolls” for practice or called it “obviously rigged” somehow.

Despite those claims, The Price Is Right keeps going, with a recent Emmy nomination for the game show and a nomination at the 11th Annual American Reality TV Awards.

Meanwhile, fans await the return of new episodes of The Price Is Right, as it’s been on a summer break with only repeats airing.

An official premiere date for daytime episodes is unknown, but The Price Is Right at Night will return with a new episode on Monday, September 23, at 8 p.m. Eastern Time.

From Drew Carey to Pat Sajak and iconic predecessors such as Bob Barker, game show hosts are supposed to engage in witty banter with contestants to keep things interesting. But Drew Carey decided to give things a more personal touch during an episode of “The Price is Right,” in 2024 by talking to a contestant about marriage. Things went in that direction because the contestant happened to be named Carey Klingfas, which was somewhat similar to the host’s name. It was an unexpected coincidence and being the humorous individual that he is, the host took full advantage of the situation. “I love your name,” he said when he saw the name tag. Carey also added, “If we got married, we’d be Drew Carey Carey Klingfas.” This comment drew laughter from the crowd and even the guest seemed to blush a little as per TV Insider.

He then asked announcer George Gray to reveal what the contestant would be competing for. “Well, it’s a fun trip for you two love birds,” Gray said adding to the joke, while describing a trip to Playa del Carmen. All Klingfas had to do was guess the price of the package correctly. He played the Freeze Frame game and correctly guessed the price, $7,695 to win the big prize.

The clip, which was uploaded to Instagram with the caption, “Two Careys are better than one” has received more than 1500 likes and some comments from fans congratulating the lucky winner.

When Contestants With The Same Name Confused “The Price is Right” Viewers

Such coincidences involving names aren’t only seen on “Wheel of Fortune,” since two people with similar names also made it to “The Price is Right” stage. This happened during a 2004 episode of the show, when the well known Bob Barker was the host. Here it wasn’t the host with whom a contestant share the same name, but instead two contestants had the exact same name.

The show’s announcer had called down one Edward Middlewick from the crowd on the episode and two people ran down the stairs to make their way onto the stage. One was in a red T-shirt while the other was in blue. It was a bit confusing for everyone involved at the moment, even the host. “Now wait, wait. We’ve got two of them here,” Barker said.

The man in blue took his place on the stage after it was confirmed that he was indeed the right person. As the announcer enunciated the last name one more time, the Edward in red realized his mistake and promptly made his way back up to his seat. Barker saw this as a humorous moment and made a timely joke to make the audience chuckle. “He got to come on down further than he would have otherwise you see,” the host said.

American Ninja Warrior just made history when five-time veteran Isabella Folsom became the first woman ever to conquer the brutal “Cannonball Alley” obstacle. In an exclusive clip shared with Collider, viewers witness Isabella’s flawless power and precision dominate a course that has eluded many top competitors, shattering records and cementing her place as an icon in this grueling NBC competition.

Isabella Folsom Just Made ‘American Ninja Warrior’ History

With her husband and loved ones in the audience — and hosts Matt Iseman and Akbar Gbajabiamila watching giddily — this moment follows Isabella as she easily defeats every obstacle this season’s semifinals course has in store. Whether it be “The Salmon Ladder” or “The Warped Wall,” the competitor barely stops to take a breath as she finishes each one with ease.

“She just looks solid!” exclaims Iseman, with his co-host Gbajabiamila adding, “I mean, flawless!” The men can only watch in wonder as she continues to decimate a series of obstacles that had claimed many others that evening, with everybody holding their breath as she faces the one that no other woman has been able to finish: Cannonball Alley. Yet while many before her have fallen into the mortifying waters at the bottom of this obstacle, Isabella barely stops to rest beforehand as she easily jumps from each swinging cannonball, eventually making a perfect dismount onto the crashpad as Iseman yells, “And she does it! The first woman EVER to get past that obstacle!” After that, both the hosts and the audience can only cheer her on as she makes easy work of the rest of the course, becoming the fourth woman to ever hit the buzzer on a 10-obstacle course and advancing in the competition.

    American-Ninja-Warrior-images-3

While she spends this episode of American Ninja Warrior making history, that doesn’t mean Folsom’s previous times on the show haven’t been eventful. She’s a five-time veteran of the competition, with seasons 13 and 14 seeing her beat out a majority of her fellow warriors and make it to the finals. Along with absolutely killing it as an individual, Isabella has had the joy of competing alongside her husband in the 2024 ANW Couple’s Championship — which they won! She had many amazing triumphs under her belt going into the current season, but it’s been clear since the beginning that she wanted a moment that would truly cement her as an American Ninja Warrior icon. And luckily for her (and the many viewers watching at home), this clip shows her getting exactly that.

This ‘American Ninja Warrior’ Is Breaking More Than Just Records

American Ninja Warrior season 17 is promising to be as intense as it is shocking, filled with jaw-dropping moments like what Isabella pulled off in the latest episode. It’s going to be hard for any competitors to beat this scene though; very few contestants can say they truly made history on the long-running program. But whether someone else breaks barriers like Isabella or not, one thing is clear: this season is filled with some of the best athletes the show has ever seen. And if Isabella is any indication, the rest of this installment may be some of the series’ most unforgettable episodes yet!

American Ninja Warrior Season 17 airs Mondays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on NBC and the next day on Peacock.

Ken Jennings Makes a Surprise Career Move ‘Jeopardy!’ Fans Never Saw Coming

The TV host is going from the world of quiz shows to the putting green in a cameo for Happy Gilmore 2.

preview for A Look Back at Alex Trebek's Incredible Career

Ken Jennings has been a part of the Jeopardy! franchise since he first appeared as a contestant in 2004.
Ken has been the host of Jeopardy! since 2022.
Along with hosting Jeopardy!, he announced he’ll make a cameo in the movie Happy Gilmore 2 (out July 25, 2025 on Netflix).

It looks like Ken Jennings is taking his career from the world of TV all the way to the putting green! Well, sort of.

Ever since Ken first appeared on Jeopardy! back in 2004, fans have seen him make a name for himself as a trivia champion-turned-television host. But as it turns out, he’s more than just a face on the hit quiz show. Among his other accomplishments (like writing a new book that’s set to debut on July 29, 2025), he’s also finding his way into the lexicon of popular movies.

As Jeopardy!‘s official Instagram revealed on June 1, Ken will be making a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it appearance in the upcoming movie Happy Gilmore 2. Sharing the trailer for the Adam Sandler-led sequel to the 1996 film, the project is set to hit on July 25, 2025 on Netflix. And if that’s not enough, the show made sure to let viewers know they have to keep an eye out for Ken’s surprise cameo (wait until the 1:19 minute mark in the trailer) away from the Jeopardy! podium.

“Did you spot the Kenmeo? 😎,” the show cryptically teased in the caption alongside the clip.

Given how Ken isn’t one to venture into acting, fans were absolutely shocked to learn he’d be onscreen during Happy Gilmore 2.

“What is I’m impressed,” one person wrote in the comments. “Loved seeing Ken in the trailer,” another declared. “YAYYY Ken!!! 💜,” a different follower added.

Even though it’s only going to be a quick moment, this is surely something Ken is excited about! What’s more, he’s not the only famous face popping up in a cameo in this movie. Along with Ken, fans can expect to see Travis Kelce, Nikki Garcia, Rory McIlroy, Eminem, Post Malone and plenty more stars appear at one point or another.

But that’s not all. Fans on Reddit also managed to make a surprise game show host connection for Ken, as viewers may remember the late Price Is Right host Bob Barker showed up in the original Happy Gilmore movie.

“Did anyone catch that glimpse of him in the trailer?! I squealed!” one user wrote. “It’s just not Happy Gilmore if he doesn’t get beat up by a game show host,” another joked. “I saw this and wondered if he would play the Bob Barker role. Love Ken but I don’t see him faring well in a brawl against Happy. But it has to be something related to that storyline, I’m very curious where they go with that,” a different follower noted.

No matter who Ken plays, we’re ready to see him tee up on the putting green very soon!

Jeopardy! is in some hot water with some fans who felt an oddly-phrased question SHOULDN’T have been allowed to MAKE IT TO AIR.

Jeopardy! host Ken Jennings stands behind his podium

Jeopardy! is in some hot water with some fans who felt an oddly-phrased question about James Bond shouldn’t have been allowed to make it to air, and they’re letting their thoughts be known in the comments section. The famous Jeopardy! model, of course, phrases answers as questions, making players have to backtrack to come up with the correct question to the answers provided.

In a recent episode, the Final Jeopardy clue was worded as such: “The last 2 best song Oscar winners whose titles were the same name as the movie they were in had this man in the leading role,” and while two players managed to guess that the answer was “Daniel Craig” (from the James Bond films), some fans felt the question was too oddly-worded and shouldn’t have been allowed.

Jeopardy! fans flooded social media to complain about a recent James Bond clue.

On Jeopardy‘s YouTube page, a commenter named @nh0522 wrote that the question took too long to answer, saying, “The question took me a minute to understand, it’s worded very confusingly. But once I did, I realized it must be the James Bond movies,” while another commenter, @donhailer4994, shared that the comma made all the difference in this wording, saying, “This was poorly phrased. I assumed they were asking about the last 2 Best Song winners: 2024 and 2025. The strength of the comma!

Another YouTube commenter, @teelink204, wrote that they weren’t sure how to answer, saying, “I wasn’t sure if they wanted Daniel Craig or James Bond. The last 3 Bond themes have won the Oscar, but the Song from Spectre that won was called ‘Writing’s on the Wall’.”

On Jeopardy‘s post on X, a commenter named @pquijote557 wrote, “A very confusing clue. It took me more than the ‘think music’ time to even figure out what it said. I finally realized it wanted the name of the actor. Good thing there’s a pause button! (I still didn’t know the answer, though).” Another X commenter, @vhsloop, wrote that the question was just challenging enough, saying, “The question did seem unusually challenging, highlighting how diverse knowledge expectations can impact contestants’ performance and audience reactions.”

And yet another X user, @mgweissman, felt they could have rephrased it, saying, “All they [had] to do was phrase it as ‘The last 2 Best Song Oscar winners whose titles were the same as the movie had this man in the leading role.’ The phrase ‘they were in’ was completely superfluous and just overcomplicated a pretty simple question.”

What Fan Response To Jeopardy!’s Complicated Phrasing Means

    Fans Have Opinions On Jeopardy!

Social media has given the viewing public more chances to have their say on what happens on their favorite TV shows, whether it’s good or bad. Everyone has a platform now, and that means that people can freely share their thoughts on the things that make it to air.

The concept of Jeopardy!‘s answers-as-questions model is already somewhat confusing but makes the game show even more entertaining to watch. By using this oddly-phrased question on the Ken Jennings-hosted game show, Jeopardy! opened itself up to criticism from fans.

Our Take On Fan Response To Jeopardy!’s Confusing Question

Fans Are Allowed To Air Grievances

By speaking up about the poorly-worded prompt, Jeopardy! fans are letting producers know that they’re watching, and they aren’t afraid to call foul if necessary. It’s a nice way for audiences to communicate with production, and it allows the long-running show’s producers to take the temperature of the public and make changes as needed.

This isn’t the first time fans have let their feelings be known about a turn of events on a TV show, and it certainly won’t be the last. For a show like Jeopardy!, which has been on the air for over 60 years, fans probably see it as a point of pride to be able to outsmart them, or to correct them when necessary, like in this case.

Still, two out of the three Jeopardy! players managed to guess the question in the James Bond round, so perhaps it wasn’t worded as oddly after all.

Jeopardy! airs weeknights. Please check your local listings for time and channel.

Ryan Seacrest got “manhandled’ by a contestant on Friday’s (July 11) episode of Wheel of Fortune, while another contestant lost out on a brand-new Mercedes-Benz.

The episode, which originally aired on December 27 and re-aired on Friday as part of the summer reruns, saw a showdown between Ari Soto from the Bronx, New York, Christine Seminerio from Morristown, New Jersey, and Will McHugh from Tampa, Florida.

Things got off to a chaotic start when Seacrest found out that the muscular McHugh is a regular at the gym. “What’s your max? Is that the right gym question?” the American Idol host asked.

“Yeah, my max on bench is 315,” McHugh answered.

A shocked Seacrest responded, “Wait, 315? That’s three of me! 315 pounds?”

“If I laid down, I could probably bench ya,” McHugh replied, and, without hesitation, Seacrest told him to “lay down.”

McHugh then lay down on the studio floor while Seacrest got on top of him, and, true to his word, the beefy contestant bench pressed the long-time television host. “Are you okay?” McHugh asked after.

“I’m great, Will, thank you very much,” Seacrest retorted. “I think you deserve to win something anyway right now for that.”

Unfortunately for McHugh, the game didn’t go quite so well as his bench-pressing skills. He wound up finishing the episode in last place with $2,000, Soto finished in second with $6,700, and Seminerio won with a massive $38,600 cash and a trip to Hawaii.

    Seminerio then advanced to the Bonus Round, where she selected the “Person” category along with the additional letters, “H, P, D, and A.” This left her with a two-word puzzle that read: “_ H E S S / P R _ D _ _ _.”

With only five letters to fill-in, the puzzle looked solvable. However, Seminerio could only figure out the first word as “Chess” and struggled to solve the second word, guessing “Chess Prowder.”

After the ten-second timer ran out, Seacrest revealed the correct answer as “Chess Prodigy.” He then opened the prize envelope to reveal Seminerio lost out on the 2025 Mercedes-Benz GLA250.

Could you have solved that Bonus Round puzzle? Or could you bench press Ryan Seacrest? Let us know your thoughts below.
