‘The Price Is Right’ Is Getting a Canadian Makeover!

Dust off your loonie guesses and get ready to yell at your TV again — The Price is Right is officially heading north!

Rogers just announced a Canadian spinoff of the iconic game show, and it’s got some very patriotic upgrades. For starters, it’ll be hosted by none other than Howie Mandel — Canada’s own comedy export and professional buzzer-slapper from Deal or No Deal and Canada’s Got Talent.

    The Price is Right

The new series, titled The Price is Right Tonight, is set to film this December in Toronto, with a prime-time debut on Citytv in spring 2026. That’s right — this version won’t be a sleepy mid-morning affair. It’s going full evening entertainment mode, complete with laughs, flashy games, and the kind of surprise prizes that’ll make your grandma scream at the screen.

In a statement, Howie said he’s pumped to bring a “fresh, high-energy twist” to the format while sticking to what makes Price a classic: oversized price tags, chaotic spinning wheels, and the magic words “Come on down!”

So, if you’ve ever dreamed of correctly guessing the cost of a patio set while the crowd loses their collective minds, your moment might be coming—Canadian style.

Now, the real question is: Will there be Tim Hortons gift cards and maple syrup bundles on the prize list? One can hope.

‘The Price Is Right’ Announcer George Gray Reveals Drew Carey Ritual & What Fans Don’t See on TV

The Price Is Right announcer George Gray is a much-loved fixture on the show. His voice is heard throughout every episode as he calls everyone down and introduces the prizes. In an exclusive interview with TV Insider, Gray said how everyone at the game show is like family and shared a heartwarming ritual that he and host Drew Carey do before every episode.

When asked if he would change anything about The Price is Right, Gray joked that he would make Drew Carey the announcer and himself the host.

“No, I really like the way it is, and I do joke around all the time that Drew is my work wife,” he said. “We see each other in the morning before we go on stage, and we’ll walk past each other like the old Wile E. Coyote cartoons from Warner Brothers. ‘Morning, Sam, Martin, Ralph.’ We’ll say that to each other. And then, we really chat for the first time.”

“Pretty much when we’re on stage, during the commercial breaks, Drew and I don’t leave the stage. He stays out there, takes questions, we goof off, have fun, and that’s when we will ask about how our weekends were. That’s when we chat. So to me, I love that. And he says that too, that that’s his favorite part of the show is just kind of goofing off and hanging out with the audience. And to me, that’s my favorite part, too.”

However, Gray shared that he does love it when new games are introduced. “It’s always fun to play a new one and it’s always fun for me because sometimes they’ll have me on stage and modeling — I use that term very loosely with me — an item, or play a game, or if it’s a go-kart, I’ll drive it in. If it’s a treadmill, I’ll fall off, stuff like that,” Gray said.

When they are done filming for the day, the announcer said that most of the time they all go home because they’re exhausted, but sometimes Gray, Carey, and the models go to a vintage bar restaurant on some Fridays that is down the street from the studio.

“And we’ll hop over there just, have a couple and laugh and with the crew too. So, it’s a very tight-knit family. We all get along wonderfully. Everybody hugs. We all say ‘I love you.’ It really is a family. And so even if we’re exhausted, it’s, ‘I’ll see you tomorrow.’ We’ve traveled together, gone to Vegas together, gone to New York together — all through Drew, who throws together the trip because he’s amazing and generous, and that makes the family really tight.”

Gray, who has been the announcer since 2011, also thinks that the reason The Price is Right has lasted for over 10,000 episodes is because the contestants are also sort of like family and all root for each other.

“Well, it’s just my opinion, but I think that one of the reasons Price is so popular is and just think about this. Think about a competitive sport, whatever you want to play, you want to win, and you either don’t get to play or you don’t get to win, and you cheer for the other person. That doesn’t happen. It doesn’t happen anywhere, but it happens with Price,” he said.

“You want to get called on down, and if you do, you want to get up on stage, but if you don’t, you’re cheering for the person who effectively beat you. You want them to win badly. And that’s really awesome that everybody pitches and everybody wants everybody to win. You’ll help the person that’s up there instead of you. It’s just one of those things where everybody, all the outside world, just sort of goes away temporarily and it just becomes about that, and everybody getting together and having fun and winning a hang gliding trip to Norway.”

The TRUTH about the complexities of Last Man Standing Mike and Vanessa Baxter’s relationship

Travis and Allen, 71, Always Believed There Were Two Versions of Mike and Vanessa’s Story

For years, Last Man Standing fans have debated the complexities of Mike and Vanessa Baxter’s relationship. But according to Travis and Allen, both longtime followers of the show and sitcom enthusiasts at 71, there has always been two versions of their story—one that played out on-screen and another that remained subtly woven into the background.

Nancy Travis Teases Possible Onscreen Reunion With 'Last Man Standing' Kids on Tim Allen's New Sitcom

The Two Sides of Mike and Vanessa’s Relationship

While Last Man Standing primarily portrayed Mike (played by Tim Allen) and Vanessa (Nancy Travis) as a strong, loving couple balancing work, family, and their evolving roles as parents and grandparents, some fans believe there were deeper, untold layers to their story.

The On-Screen Version: The series showed them as a lighthearted, witty couple with differing views on politics and parenting but ultimately a rock-solid foundation.
The Unseen Struggles: Some fans, including Travis and Allen, speculate that off-camera moments hinted at unspoken challenges—differences in ambition, personal sacrifices, and the emotional toll of raising independent daughters while managing their careers.

A Fan Perspective on Their Journey

Travis and Allen, both avid TV buffs, have long discussed how the show’s writing left subtle clues about a hidden version of their relationship—one that audiences could infer through character interactions, nostalgia, and occasional dramatic moments.

“Mike and Vanessa were always meant to be together,” Travis noted, “but there were hints that their journey wasn’t as seamless as it appeared.”

Allen added, “The humor and love were real, but if you really look at the writing, you can see moments where there was more under the surface.”

CBS Makes Bold Move: Offers $1 Billion Deal to Tim Allen and Richard Karn for New Sitcom

In a surprising and ambitious move, CBS has reportedly offered Tim Allen and Richard Karn a staggering $1 billion deal to star in a brand-new sitcom that promises to shake up the entertainment industry. The proposed show, which is being described as a “non-woke” comedy, aims to bring back a more traditional approach to sitcom storytelling, reminiscent of classic TV comedies that emphasized humor over political messaging.

Home Improvement' stars Tim Allen, Richard Karn on reuniting for new series: A 'live version' of 'Tool Time' | Fox News

    A High-Stakes Investment in Comedy

The entertainment industry has seen its fair share of big deals, but CBS’s $1 billion investment signals a major shift in network television strategy. Sources close to the network suggest that executives are banking on Allen and Karn’s iconic chemistry to deliver a hit sitcom that resonates with a broad audience.

This sitcom, still in early development, is expected to move away from politically charged content that has become common in modern television, instead focusing on family-friendly humor and timeless storytelling.

Tim Allen & Richard Karn: The Perfect Duo for This New Project

Tim Allen and Richard Karn became household names in the 1990s thanks to their work on Home Improvement, a sitcom that remains a fan favorite. Their on-screen partnership continued in later projects, including Assembly Required, proving their ability to connect with audiences.

With Allen’s signature humor and traditional values, paired with Karn’s likable and steady comedic presence, the two are expected to bring a much-needed energy to the CBS sitcom lineup.

Tim Allen and Richard Karn reunite for real life 'Tool Time'-type show - mlive.com

    What Makes This Sitcom Different?

Described as a fresh alternative to the current trend in television, the new show aims to appeal to audiences looking for lighthearted entertainment without the divisive political undertones. A CBS insider revealed:

“This show is about making people laugh and bringing back the kind of sitcoms that made everyone feel good—without pushing an agenda. It’s about genuine humor, real-life situations, and characters that audiences can connect with.”

CBS’s decision comes at a time when viewers have been vocal about their desire for sitcoms that prioritize comedy over social messaging. Industry experts suggest this move could signal a shift in television trends, bringing back the kind of storytelling that defined some of the biggest sitcom hits in history.

Will This Move Pay Off for CBS?

Investing $1 billion in a single sitcom is an unprecedented move, but CBS is betting big on Allen and Karn’s ability to deliver ratings and bring back a nostalgic TV audience. Given the continued success of classic reruns and the resurgence of interest in traditional sitcoms, the network’s risk may very well pay off.

The show is set to premiere next year, and with the buzz already building, it’s clear that this sitcom has the potential to become one of the most talked-about television projects in recent memory.

    A New Era of Comedy?

CBS’s commitment to this project highlights a growing demand for sitcoms that prioritize comedy over cultural debates. Whether this show will redefine the landscape of TV remains to be seen, but with Tim Allen and Richard Karn at the helm, the entertainment world is watching closely.

Stay tuned for more details as the show moves closer to production and CBS prepares to roll out what could be one of the most significant sitcoms in modern television history.

The Tragic Story Behind What Really Happened to a Beloved Reba Star That Makes Fans Feel Sad

The Tragic Story Behind What Really Happened to a Beloved Reba Star That Makes Fans Feel Sad

The Tragic Truth About What Happened To Reba Star Scarlett Pomers

There is always going to be a star from “back then” that seemingly disappeared. In many cases, actors who starred in popular movies or shows from years ago have continued acting, but have not reached the same level of success they once had. This is certainly the case with the likes of Famke Janssen from the X-Men franchise, Jackie Earl Haley from Watchmen, or even with Lili Simmons from Banshee.

But being a sitcom star that vanishes into oblivion puts this particular celebrity on a whole different level. That is because people grow up watching sitcoms, often incorporating them into their daily routines. And in the case of sitcom kids, viewers almost grow up alongside the stars. For those that adored Reba McEntire’s WB sitcom, Reba, they saw Scarlett Pomers (AKA Kyra Hart) grow up before their eyes. But nowadays, she’s completely vanished from the spotlight. She has no Instagram presence, hasn’t taken a role since the show ended in 2007, and basically hasn’t been heard from.

The Cast of “Reba:” Where Are They Now?

Naturally, fans got worried. But those who know Scarlett Pomers best know that she has dealt with her fair share of traumas. Having Reba flirting with the idea of bringing her Texas-based sitcom back, fans wonder if they will ever get to see Scarlett return to the role that made her famous. Unfortunately, that is highly unlikely. Here is the tragic truth about Scarlett Pomers and where exactly she has gone.

Updated on February 7, 2023: Scarlett Pomers has continued to stay out of the spotlight since leaving Reba. She shared in an interview what she is pursuing in her photography career: “I do mostly fashion stuff, but I also shoot bands. I shoot their promo pictures and stuff like that, and a little bit of concerts, too. […] With fashion and other kinds of shoots, I can be a little more creative and have more say on the concepts [and] whatnot.”

How Did Scarlett Pomers Become Famous?

Scarlett Pomers was the definition of a child star. At just five years old, Scarlett made her debut in a Michael Jackson music video. From there, she began booking commercial after commercial. Casting agents were thrilled with her natural beauty and stunning red hair. Most of all, the young woman had a charisma that was unparalleled. Pomers was a star in the making.

Following small acting roles on Touched By An Angel and Judging Amy, Scarlett was cast in notable feature films such as Erin Brockovich and The Baby-Sitters Club. In 1998, she booked her first major role on Star Trek: Voyager, a series that would forever earn her money thanks to fan conventions. After playing Naomi Wilding for 16 episodes of the series, Scarlett was put up for some juicy roles, such as Kyra Hart on Reba.

Without a doubt, Reba is what made Scarlett famous. But it’s also the role that brought her the most conflict. Not only was she becoming intensely famous very, very fast, but her personal issues were also put into the spotlight.

Scarlett Left Reba To Deal With Her Eating Disorder

Scarlett says she was sixteen when her eating disorder began. While she never had anyone on a set tell her that she needed to lose weight, her battle with her self-image was amplified by growing up in front of millions of Reba fans.

“[My eating disorder] began at a bad time when I was stressed out about things in my life. You know, just normal things that people go through,” Scarlett said to E! in 2006. “It’s definitely not a choice. It’s not something where you wake up and go, ‘You know, I think I’ll have an eating disorder today.’”

After gaining a couple of pounds over Christmas, Scarlett innocently started a diet and obsessively working out. But things quickly spun out of control. She knew she had a problem when her habits with food and exercise became something that she had to hide from people. But eventually, her issues became clear.

The 5’2 actor lost a whopping 73 pounds in late 2005. Because of how serious her anorexia nervosa became, she was forced to leave Reba during most of the fifth season of the show. For the majority of that year, Scarlett was seeking help at a facility. Fortunately, she managed to gain some control over her issue after leaving and became an ambassador for the National Eating Disorders Association. She even started her own non-profit helping people overcome their eating disorders when they can’t afford treatment.

What Happened To Scarlett After Reba?

After Scarlett returned to Reba, she decided that Hollywood wasn’t the place for her. She finished the show in the sixth season and then quickly went on to pursue music. Scarlett was into hard rock since she was a kid, so creating her own band was natural to her. She had already begun to do so while making Reba, but committing herself to music after the show was canceled was an important step to her.

Additionally, Scarlett also got into Kundalini yoga and even got her own teaching certificate. In her battle with anorexia nervosa, mastering the art and spiritual practice of yoga was essential.

While she still does music, Scarlett no longer pursues it as a career. Instead, according to Netline, Scarlett has become an avid photographer and makes her own jewelry to sell on various online stores. It’s clear she has banked quite a bit of money from being a child star, but wants to pursue things that are meaningful for her far away from the spotlight. So, no, it’s highly unlikely that Scarlett would return for a Reba reboot, or any other acting project for that matter.

Ryan Seacrest Announces Sad News For E! Live Fans

It’s the end of an era on the E! Network. Everyone’s favorite professional host and face of award show interviews, Ryan Seacrest, has announced that he is leaving his longtime gig as co-host of E!’s Live from the Red Carpet. After over a decade of grilling celebs and Hollywood A-listers on the finer points of their fashion choices with Giuliana Rancic by his side, the 46-year-old announced in an Instagram post that he’s moving on.

Under a smiling photo donned in a tux with an E! emblazoned microphone, the man who has made millions as a professional master of ceremonies broke the news to fans and followers, sharing, “After 14 years of hosting E!’s Live from the Red Carpet I’ve decided to move on to new adventures.”

With American Idol, the production of Keeping Up With the Kardashians, his radio show “On Air with Ryan Seacrest,” and his co-hosting duties on Live with Kelly and Ryan, it’s no wonder Seacrest might want to free up a little bit of time in his busy schedule. Especially after, as USA Today notes, the consummate entertainer gave everyone a scare last summer after (what was later diagnosed as) exhaustion caused him to stutter and slur his way through the American Idol virtual finale.

A replacement for Ryan Seacrest has not been named by E! yet

Although the announcement certainly came as a surprise to fans, it’s obvious Ryan Seacrest’s relationships with his co-workers and E! Network executives are intact and positive. His departure announcement concluded by thanking everyone from crew to fans for the wonderful experience, poignantly stating, “I’ll miss the whole crew that works so hard behind the scenes and of course my amazing partner Giuliana. Thanks to everyone for watching all these years.”

Amidst the messages from fans and well-wishers, many fellow E! employees joined in to send Seacrest off. Among them, Fashion Police‘s Brad Goreski who wrote, “You are a legend Ryan!” And E! News anchor Jason Kennedy who shared, “It was a pleasure brother.” Even an official statement by E! came with accolades for the longtime host, “E! has long enjoyed our relationship with Ryan over the years especially as co-host of E!’s signature red carpet series. He has been instrumental in giving viewers a front row seat to some of Hollywood’s biggest nights. We are extremely appreciative of his many contributions and he will always be part of the E! Family” (via TV Insider).

As the next major red carpet event quickly approaches with the Golden Globes slated to air on Feb. 28, the New York Post reported that no replacement host has been named by the network yet. It’s certainly hard to imagine anyone else filling those Ryan Seacrest shoes!

Vanna is all smiles in her photo as she holds her father close.

Herbert White Jr. died in 2022.

He was 96 when Vanna announced his death on April 1.

She wrote: “It is with great sadness that I tell you my 96 year old dad passed away peacefully this morning.

“He lived a full and happy life and will be remembered as one of the kindest and most wonderful human beings of North Myrtle Beach.”

She concluded: “I love you so much dad. RIP.”

In Vanna’s photo, she and Dad were sitting on a couch together in the snap.

Vanna was clad in a sleeveless blue and purple top with jeans in the throwback photo.

Her father was in a long-sleeved shirt and slacks, holding Vanna around the waist.

She captioned the post: “Happy Father’s Day to all the dads in the world! And to my sweet dad… I miss you everyday.”

Fans flooded the photo’s comment section with words of kindness.

“I loved Mr Herb!!!!” one wrote.

“Vanna, your father is very happy and blessed too!” another fan commented.

A third fan shared: “I am so sorry for your loss Vanna.”

    LETTER BE!

Meanwhile, Vanna has reportedly become worried she’ll be let go in light of Pat Sajak’s retirement news.

She has even offered herself up as the replacement for her longtime Wheel of Fortune counterpart and is hoping to stay on the board, according to a source.

The game show legend, 76, began hosting in 1981 and has done so for 40 seasons with Vanna, 66.

But Pat’s head-spinning announcement he’d be retiring at the end of next season in June 2024 has reportedly put Vanna in a worrisome spot.

“The next year is going to be quite the ride and Vanna wants to be a part of it all even after he leaves, and she hopes they don’t force her out,” a source told The Daily Mail on Tuesday.

But the source also claimed that Vanna has no interest in leaving the show – and even aspires to take over Pat’s role.

    ‘SHE WOULD CONSIDER TAKING OVER’

“Vanna doesn’t want to leave Wheel of Fortune even after Pat’s announcement of retirement, and she would highly consider taking over his role as host on the show,” the insider added.

Vanna is “in it for the long haul,” they said, and “would like to be a part of the selection process for Pat’s replacement, because if it is up to her, she is in it forever.”

This comes as longtime American Idol host and former Live! With Kelly and Ryan host Ryan Seacrest has expressed interest as well, Bloomberg reported.

    PAT’S ANNOUNCEMENT

On June 12, 2023, Pat dropped his unexpected announcement he’d be retiring from Wheel of Fortune at the end of next season.

Pat, 76, told fans in a personal note on Twitter: “Well, the time has come. I’ve decided that our 41st season, which begins in September, will be my last.

“It’s been a wonderful ride, and I’ll have more to say in the coming months.”

    ‘DEPRESSING’

Vanna quote-tweeted Pat’s announcement without signaling she was interested in following in his footsteps.

She wrote on Tuesday: “When we started Wheel of Fortune who could have imagined we’d still be at it 41 seasons later?”

“I couldn’t be happier to have shared the stage with you for all these years with one more to come. Cheers to you, @patsajak!”

The ageless Vanna – whose contract is up in 2024 – earlier made it clear she wasn’t looking to go anywhere and called the idea of retiring depressing.

“That’s depressing. I don’t even want to think about it,” she said last year to People.

“It’s incredible. I cannot believe it’s been 40 years. Honestly, I’ve loved every minute of it,” she said.

“Who still says they love their job after 40 years? Me!”

The Secret’s Out! Drew Carey Unlocks a Hidden Truth About ‘Price Is Right’ Contestants

Drew Carey reveals secret about ‘Price Is Right’ contestants

Drew Carey knows if you’ve been boozing before “coming on down” to Contestants’ Row.

Carey, in an interview with TV insider, revealed his belief that audience members on “The Price Is Right” frequently show up to the tapings a little tipsy, or even high.

“Oh, that happens here all the time,” Carey, 66, said in response to TV Insider’s Kate Hahn, who asked whether he thinks some of the contestants use a little “liquid courage” before arriving at the studio.

“They’ll have a gummy or I’ll smell alcohol on their breath. Not unusual,” Carey continued, before claiming he later learned one contestant was actually on mushrooms during his appearance.

“He was a sketch [comedy] guy,” Carey said. “I found out later when I went to UCB [sketch improv theater, United Citizens Brigade] to hang out and they were like, ‘Did you see that guy who claimed to be a skateboarding rabbi?’ I asked him what he did for a living. And he goes, ‘I’m a skateboarding rabbi.’ He didn’t think he was going to get picked, and he totally tripped.”
Drew CareyDrew Carey is pictured during a January 2023 taping of “The Price Is Right.” (Sonja Flemming/CBS via Getty Images)
Carey is currently wrapping up his 18th season as the host of “The Price Is Right” — a milestone that makes him the longest-tenured game host of a game show still currently on the air, TV Insider noted. (Pat Sajak previously held the title before his retirement this year.)

Carey, in the interview, also indicated that he intends to stay with the show for as long as CBS will have him and perhaps even break Sajak’s record for the longest-running host of any game show.

The contestants, he added, are a big part of why he enjoys the gig and hopes to continue hosting.

“Regular people are more interesting than celebrities. Honestly,” Carey said. “They’ve all had their own problems to overcome and their own demons, to get their own special lives. I learn more from them than I do from anybody.”

It also doesn’t hurt that “The Price Is Right” is a positive atmosphere, according to Carey. It’s largely because he — along with everyone in the audience, and everyone watching at home — is rooting for the contestants to win, he said.

“It’s not my money — it’s CBS’s money, and we’re all trying to take it together,” he joked.

“The Price Is Right,” which airs on CBS, is nearing the end of its 52nd season, with its final new episodes scheduled through early July. The show’s current iteration, which debuted in 1972, was originally hosted by Bob Barker before Carey took over hosting duties in 2007.

In Gold Derby’s recent poll, we asked diehard fans of “The Voice” what they thought of Adam Levine quitting NBC’s reality TV show after 16 seasons, and 53% voted that they were absolutely “devastated” by the news.

The other 47% of fans voted that now was “the right time” for Adam to finally call it quits. Do you agree or disagree with those poll results? Be sure to sound off down in the comments section.

Adam didn’t give a specific explanation as to why he decided to leave the show he’s called home since 2011, except to say, “For me, it was time to move on.” In his official statement, Adam thanked fellow coaches Blake SheltonKelly Clarkson and John Legend, host Carson Daly, producer Mark Burnett and other “The Voice” crew members.

“I couldn’t hide my love for you if I tried,” he said about his frenemy Blake, who’s been a coach with Adam since day one. “Seriously. I tried. Can’t do it. Our friendship is and always will be one for the books. Whatever this whole surreal experience was, I’m just happy I got to experience it with you. You’re my brother for life. Kelly and John, take care of the cowboy and I’m sure I’ll be back to say hi very very soon. So much love to you both.”

Finally, the Maroon 5 singer thanked his “loyal” fans, declaring, “There’s literally no show without you guys. For me, it was time to move on. Your support has meant EVERYTHING.” Based on the results of our poll, it appears as though his “The Voice” fans will miss Adam just as much as he’ll miss them.

Why isn’t The Voice on two days a week right now?

The Voice’s current schedule is a bit different from previous ones. For most of Season 27, The Voice will only air one new episode per week on Mondays, making room for more exciting shows on NBC’s Tuesday lineup.

Will The Voice air new episodes on Tuesday nights?

Yes! But for now, The Voice will only air new episodes on Mondays. Towards the end of the season, NBC will air some episodes from the Live Shows on Tuesdays.

The Voice Season 27 Live Shows are set to take place in May 2025, so stay tuned for more details!

As always, The Voice begins with multiple nights of Blind Auditions, followed by The Battles, The Knockouts, and The Playoffs. The Live Shows mark the final phase of The Voice, during which Host Carson Daly will announce the winner.

But no matter who wins this season, Coach Bublé can’t wait to witness all of the Artists’ music careers start to blossom. “My favorite part about it [being a Coach] was when I had to let people go for the first time, I was upset about it. Until I realized that their lives had changed. Until I realized that their careers had started,” Bublé told NBC Insider. “They started to create a business that could go on.”
