The Voice season 24 is heating up, and it looks like Gwen Stefani just got the upper hand after winning the heart of one contestant who Niall Horan also wanted for his team.

The Voice' coach Niall Horan feels threatened as he dubs Gwen Stefani 'liar' in feud over CORii - MEAWW

The hit NBC series is in the middle of the beloved Battle Rounds, and this week’s episode saw CORii and Ms. Monét face off on Reba McEntire’s team. As the two competed for a coveted spot by singing “New Attitude” by Patti LaBelle, the country singer voiced how hard it was for her to make the choice on who to keep and who should be let go. When Reba declared Ms. Monét the winner, CORii’s performance immediately caught the attention of both Gwen and Niall and each hit the “Steal” button for her to join their teams.

“She did take a little bit longer, I’d like to say that,” Niall joked much to the laughter of Gwen and the studio audience. “I’m not scared of [Gwen] … I am.”

When it was time for Gwen to speak, she had nothing but kind words for how CORii impressed her.

“It was a really, really good battle,” she began. “What I think I could help you with is just like a tweak to show you that you got so much charisma. It’s just how do you tame it just a little bit so that you can be that much cooler and that much more you. I want to work with that, so I would love to have you on Team Gwen.”

Ever fearful of losing CORii to Gwen as a competitor, Niall couldn’t help but hilariously call the No Doubt singer out as a last minute chance to grab another member for his group. “Don’t listen,” he begged while pointing at Gwen. “Liar.”

Although Niall and Gwen had their own competition to see who CORii would choose as her new coach, folks couldn’t help but agree with their comments about how good she was during the battle.

“Corii amazed me tonight!! What an amazing battle,” one person wrote on Instagram. “SING 👏👏 My favorite battle so far ❤️,” another added. “I’m glad someone stole [CORii] they were both great,” a different viewer agreed.

So, did Niall’s war tactics work? Sadly for him, CORii eventually chose to become a member of Team Gwen. Guess we’ll just have to tune in another week to see what happens next!

Voice Coach Season 28 Niall’s Revealing Review of Reba McEntire’s Personal Side

Voice Coach Season 28 Niall’s Revealing Review of Reba McEntire’s Personal Side

Amid rumors of Reba McEntire’s frustrations with ‘double-crossing’ castmates, ‘Four-Chair King’ John Legend dominates ‘The Voice’

Rookie coach Reba McEntire, the queen of country, was much-hyped at the start of The Voice Season 24, but so far she’s had a tough time sparring with her more experienced and cutthroat co-stars: John Legend (who’s in his eighth season), Gwen Stefani (her seventh), and reigning champ Niall Horan. Reba seems to be not only be the queen of country, but the queen of one-chair turns, with six of her 13 team members only being recruited by default.

According to a report by RadarOnline, Reba, America’s redheaded sweetheart, “didn’t realize how double-crossing [this competition] was, so it’s been a shock. … She’s sick of it already. She realizes they’re all phonies and she’s had to get sneaky just to be heard — and that’s not her style.”

Representatives for The Voice declined Yahoo Entertainment’s request for comment, but McEntire shut down these rumors in an interview with Extra’s Mona Kosar Abdi, saying, “I’m just having a blast.” When asked if she was quitting the show after this season, as RadarOnline reported, Reba vaguely answered, “Well, not right yet. We’re not through.” As of now, she is supposed to return for Season 25 next spring.

Witnessing how this season’s Blind Auditions have played out so far, it’s clear that Reba (understandably) thought her pleasant demeanor and decades of experience — she frequently mentions being a “third-generation rodeo brat” who started performing at age 13 — would be enough to lure contestants. Her perishable recruitment prize, tater tots, isn’t even as incentivizing as her fellow coaches’ collectible team jackets and hoodies.

So, despite her sincerest efforts and undeniably impressive résumé, Reba has not established herself as the coach to beat in Season 24 so far. However, Niall has assured Voice viewers that she possesses a “superpower” that allows her to be “very in tune with some very great artists that are going to surprise us down the line,” so perhaps there is a method to her one-chair madness. Maybe she has some sneaky gameplay up her embroidered sleeve after all.

Meanwhile, the self-declared “King of the Voice” — John Legend, who after Blake Shelton’s departure has become the show’s O.G. veteran panelist — has become the king of four-chair turns. A whopping eight of Team Legend’s 12 contestants, including two that auditioned Tuesday, have been four-chair wonders. We still have one more Blind Auditions episode left before the Battle Rounds begin next week, but so far, it looks like John, not Reba, is this season’s coach to beat.

Here are the successful auditioners from Tuesday’s hour-long episode, ranging from two to four chairs:

    Willie Gomez, 37: “La Bachata”

This Miami-based Bachata dancer, who has worked with Jennifer Lopez, Christina Aguilera and even Britney Spears (who sent him a video good-luck message), had the moves and the sultry tone of a budding Latin music heartthrob. “You can do all the things you can do to be a big star,” John assured him. Gwen was actually shamelessly flirting with Willie, saying she loved his “vibe” and “energy.”

    Who turned? All four coaches.

Result: Team Legend! Flirting and vibing got Gwen nowhere.

    Olivia Eden, 15: “This Town”

This endearingly awkward and giggly self-declared “weird kid” showcased an intriguingly wispy, feathery, vibrato-heavy soprano voice. It was far from a flawless vocal, but her imperfections lent the performance character. Gwen loved Olivia’s “signature yodel” and Reba called her “cute as a button.” Niall gushed, “There was so much maturity to that voice. … You showed off so many parts of your voice, more than I did — and I wrote the song!”

Who turned? Niall and Reba. Niall turned first, of course. “Great song choice!” he quipped.

Result: Team Niall, of course. Reba hasn’t had much luck this season, and she didn’t have a chance with this one.

    Caitlin Quisenberry, 27: “Rainbow”

Caitlin showcased such a pretty, bell-clear, lilting tone; she reminded me a bit of “Paper Roses”-era Marie Osmond. There was a sweetness, innocence and purity here. If anything, I think Caitlin could use a little more edge — which Gwen surely could’ve helped with — but there was something so warm and welcoming about her voice.

Who turned? Reba and Gwen. I’m surprised they were the only ones.

Result: Team Reba, finally! Country redheads stick together.

    Kara Tenae, 33: “Boo’d Up”

This singing Uber driver from Riverside, who starred in an Uber commercial with Julia Michaels that aired during the Grammy Awards, had a cool ‘90s-throwback R&B vibe and massive vocal range, but her performance was shaky and unfocused in parts. However, the coaches were impressed by her potential. Niall praised Kara’s “crazy runs,” Reba was “blown away,” and Gwen said, “You’ve got personality, you’ve got stage presence, you have it all.”

Who turned? Niall, Gwen, and Reba.

Result: Team Gwen. “California girls stick together,” John shrugged.

Caleb Sasser, 27: “Another Sad Love Song”

This middle school music teacher raised on gospel music said he was going to do the “Caleb version” of the Toni Braxton ballad, and he was not playing. John was wowed by how “really musical and really creative” Caleb’s “magical” version, comparing him to both Toni and Anita Baker. There was a certain natural, sweet likability to this man too. Reba told him, “Your voice made me feel such peace inside,” and Niall said, “The ease with which you sing is so beautiful.”

    Who turned? All four coaches.

Result: Team Legend, of course! This was no surprise, since Caleb cited John as one of his “biggest influences.” And so, the Four-Chair King remained undefeated.

The Voice Introduced A New Rule For New Season, And I Have Mixed Feelings After Seeing Reba McEntire Use It

Spoiler alert! This story contains a minor spoiler for The Voice premiere, which aired September 23.

Fans who have been watching The Voice for any significant amount of time are used to different twists being introduced for a new season. The show has added Steals and Saves over the years and experimented with different ways to give artists a second chance. As Season premiered on the 2024 TV schedule, new coaches Snoop Dogg and Michael Bublé will be amongst the first to experiment with the Coach Replay button, but after seeing Reba McEntire use it, I have to admit I’ve got mixed feelings about the new rule.

Every season you have a coach kicking themselves after passing on an artist during the Blind Auditions, saying they wish they had a do-over so they could get that person on their team. Now they have the power to do so. Host Carson Daly explained that the Coach Replay will give all of The Voice coaches one opportunity to hit their button for an artist after the audition has ended. Allow me to get into what this all meant, particularly for Team Reba.

I Loved Seeing Reba McEntire Give A Deserving Artist A Second Chance

Kendall Eugene took the stage on the premiere episode with a version of Morgan Wallen’s “Don’t Think Jesus.” However, the Fort Worth, Texas, native failed to pique the interest of any of the coaches despite a nice voice, good range and that highly coveted country sound. After the mentors turned around to discuss the seemingly failed audition, Reba McEntire expressed regret and bewilderment over having not hit her button, telling Eugene:

Your style is totally different than anything we’ve heard today. I liked everything about it. … I don’t understand why I did not turn around. We’ve got this new thing this year that is a Coach Replay button. I’m gonna use mine.

The tears flowed instantly — from Reba McEntire, from Kendall Eugene, even from Snoop Dogg — and I loved seeing how much the moment meant to the aspiring singer.

It really must be so frustrating for the artists who work so hard to get this audition just to have a coach say, “Man, I’m so stupid for not hitting my button. What was I thinking?” That’s not the singer’s fault, and this new rule does give some justice to singers who deserve to be on the show. But there’s a major reason why I can’t fully get behind it.

The Coach Replay Goes Against The Very Premise Of The Voice

The main quality that has always set The Voice apart from other singing competitions like American Idol is that it is a BLIND audition, based solely on the singing. Not the contestant’s story, not their charisma, not their looks. Allowing the coaches to change their mind about a singer after seeing them, talking to them and getting context into their nerves, song choice, circumstances, etc., flies in the face of the show’s concept.

In Reba McEntire’s case, she basically knew right away she’d made a mistake, saying:

I love that song that Kendall was singing, and after the song was over, I felt kind of numb. And I knew in my heart I wanted him on my team. I’m so glad for the very first time we have a Coach Replay button. It’s the second chance for the coaches when we realize we missed this moment. I think he has a lot more to show us, and I’m really anxious to listen to him sing again.

It does seem like she regretted not turning before she even saw him or his reaction to not making the show, but this new rule makes for a pretty slippery slope. It will be interesting to see how Gwen Stefani, Snoop Dogg and Michael Bublé use their Coach Replay as the Blind Auditions progress.

The Voice will return to NBC at 8 p.m. ET next Monday, September 30, as the presidential election is affecting fall TV, and particularly The Voice‘s Tuesday shows. Episodes are available to stream the next day with a Peacock subscription.

Kelsea Ballerini has been on the move for months. Her fifth studio album Patterns arrived in October and sent her off on her first headlining arena tour in January. Heading into 2025, the singer-songwriter’s slate also included her first season as a coach on The Voice. With both obligations now in the rearview, Ballerini is taking a moment to consider what she might want to do next.

“I need a break!” Ballerini said on Today With Jenna & Friends. “And I’ve never been able to say that before, but I really think it’s just time for me to pump the brakes, figure out what’s next, have a summer, what? Go to the beach? Huh? Learn to cook a new meal, hang out with the dogs. So that’s kind of my agenda.”

Still, the singer isn’t shutting herself off completely. “Every time I say that I have time off, something happens. But I’m very open to whatever is out there,” she added. In a recent photo dump on Instagram, Ballerini included a screenshot of a text message where she wrote: “I’ve written down 387382 ideas the last few weeks i’m starting to feel ready to dabble dee dabble daaa.” Next week, Ballerini will appear at CMA Fest in Nashville.

Music will likely always be on Ballerini’s radar, but she isn’t certain about what her future on The Voice might look like. “It’s been such a beautiful season of doing things that are out of my comfort zone and bigger than I’ve ever done, and it’s been really fulfilling. I love being in that seat,” she said, noting that she would “never say never” about the prospect of returning for a later season. When Season 27 wrapped, she referred to the experience as being “one of the greatest honors of my career.”

Kevin Abbott is officially on board for Last Man Standing’s upcoming seventh season at Fox as an executive producer and showrunner, Variety has learned.

Abbott was formerly the showrunner and executive producer on the Tim Allen-led comedy during its initial run ABC.

He took over as showrunner from series creator Jack Burditt, and was then succeeded by Tim Doyle, with Matt Berry then serving as showrunner before the show was cancelled.

Abbott is also an executive producer on the upcoming Fox retirement home comedy The Cool Kids, which will also air with Last Man Standing as part of Fox’s Friday night lineup.

Abbott will executive produce the Fox version along with Allen, Berry, Kevin Hench, Ed Yeager, Becky Clements, Richard Baker, Rick Messina, Marty Adelstein and Shawn Levy. 20th Century Fox Television will produce.

Abbott is repped by CAA and Jackoway Tyerman.

Allen led the charge to revive the series after ABC cancelled it last year despite its solid ratings on ABC’s Friday schedule. Fox then announced they were bringing the show back earlier this month. The show’s final season on ABC averaged a 1.2 rating in adults 18-49 and 6.4 million viewers per episode in Live+Same Day. Should it be able to match those numbers this fall, which is likely given the fan interest in the show’s return, it would be one of the higher-rated shows on Fox.

Allen stars in the show as Mike Baxter, a married father of three girls, who tries to maintain his manliness in a world increasingly dominated by women. The series also stars Nancy Travis, Jonathan Adams, Amanda Fuller, Christoph Sanders and Jordan Masterson.

It’s that time of year where a lot of shows go on their winter breaks. Happy’s Place has now aired its last episode of 2024, but there is some good news.

That’s right; there are no more new episodes of Happy’s Place in 2024. In a little bit of good news, there is a rerun on Friday, Dec. 20. This certainly suggests that NBC is happy with the series and wants to keep people tuning in. The episode will follow the airing of Shrek the Halls on the network.

What about the return date, though? We have some great news about that.

Why is Happy’s Place now on a break?

If NBC is happy enough with the show to put on reruns, why is the show taking a break? Well, yubi, this is just the time of year. All broadcast networks put a hold on new episodes of their shows this time of year, as the linear ratings take a dip. There’s no point risking the future of a show when a break is possible.

This also allows for scheduling. Even with the extra episodes that Happy’s Place has landed, there are still more weeks than episodes available for the standard September to May schedule. So, breaks are needed, and a longer one at Christmas and New Year helps with that.

    Happy's Place - Season Pilot

When will Happy’s Place return with new episodes?

Those who love Reba McIntyre’s new series won’t need to wait too long for it to return. It’s actually the first series to make a comeback in 2025. Happy’s Place will return on Friday, Jan. 3 at 8/7c on NBC. It will be followed by new episodes of Lopez vs. Lopez and Dateline, bringing back a normal Friday night for us.

This is a shorter break than most other shows on NBC and most other networks. It’s only three weeks, so we really can’t complain!

Will Happy’s Place be renewed for season 2?

Of course, as we get to this time of the year, we look at the chances of our favorite shows being canceled or renewed. NBC doesn’t tend to make big decisions this early, unless a show has taken off more wildly than expected. So, it’s not surprising that we haven’t heard about a renewal just yet.

I do expect to see Happy’s Place renewed for season 2. According to TV Series Finale, the comedy is the third-most popular out of the genre on the network, just behind fellow freshman St. Denis Medical and Happy’s Place. It sits in eighth out of all the scripted shows. Both of those figures are in terms of the demo, which is the number most broadcast networks follow.

Being so high up considering it airs on a Friday is an excellent feat. NBC is sure to want it to stick around!

Happy’s Place returns on Friday, Jan. 3 at 8/7c on NBC. Catch up on the series on Peacock.

Comedy Powerhouse Alert! ABC Considers Combining Tim Allen’s ‘Last Man Standing’ and Reba McEntire’s ‘Malibu Country’ for a Hilarious Tuesday Night.

TV Review: ABC Pairs ‘Last Man Standing,’ ‘Malibu Country’ on Fridays

I wasn’t a big fan of “Last Man Standing” when it premiered over a year ago but it looks like a landmark program when compared to the vastly inferior new sitcom with which it has been paired, the new “Malibu Country” with Reba (who apparently goes by one name now) and Lily Tomlin.

Both shows hearken back to the old-fashioned TGIF brand of programming, complete with laugh tracks and borderline offensive cliches. Do you miss “According to Jim” and “My Wife and Kids”? ABC has a couple of shows for you.

And I don’t mean that to sound as cynical or negative as it might. The fact is that sitcoms have come a long way in the last decade and what used to be passable in the genre looks cliched now. I have no problem with a well-done family sitcom (“The Middle” borders on being a great show), so don’t presume that I think all sitcoms need to be pop culture parades like “Community.” And there are definite moments in the season premiere of “Last Man Standing” in which one can see what works about the show.

It’s not “All in the Family” but it’s trying for that model of an old-fashioned patriarch being assaulted by a new world. On the other hand, “Malibu Country” can’t shake its cliches and even its talented cast looks like they wish they were on a better program.

    “Last Man Standing”

The night starts with the better of the two programs by some stretch as Tim Allen deftly leads an ensemble that includes some talented performers and a writing staff willing to write a few interesting jokes. When I read that the season premiere would tackle the 2012 Presidential campaign, I presumed all of the jokes would be simple and obvious but there are actually a few clever political jabs as Mike (Allen) realizes that his daughters are voting for Obama while he’s a staunch Romney supporter himself. There are thousands of households right now going through the same dilemma — political divisions at the dinner table. It’s kind of nice that at least one family sitcom was willing to tackle it directly.

Having said that, there are still some frustratingly obvious jokes in “Last Man Standing” and I find the family dynamic much more engaging than the workplace one. “LMS” is one of those comedies that kind of wants to have it all — family comedy, workplace comedy, yubi, old-fashioned comedy — and dilutes it all down to a very safe degree of humor.

The cast works and there’s a joke every once in awhile that’s surprising and so I have to say that “Last Man Standing” is improved over its series premiere but it’s still one of those shows that most people wouldn’t have noticed if it had been canceled instead of renewed.

    “Malibu Country”

Maybe I thought “Last Man Standing” was better-than-expected because I watched this stinker first. The typically charming Reba can’t find the hook in a show that wallows in two cliches — the redneck Southerner and the pampered Californian.

Reba put her music career on hold years ago to support her country music star husband, who the world just found out was cheating on her. So Reba, her mother Lillie Mae (Lily Tomlin), and two kids move to California, where she tries to break into the business in the land of plastic surgery and back stabbing.

What is there really to say about a show like “Malibu Country” that tries to get most of its humor out of jokes about homosexuality (the boy next door claims to be but is caught making out with Reba’s daughter), plastic surgery, or Lillie Mae discovering marijuana lollipops. It’s all such easy writing with such lackluster pacing.

It feels much longer than its 22 minutes and it’s just sad to watch someone as talented as Lily Tomlin caught up in this mess. She looks visibly bored. Everyone involved deserves better.

“Last Man Standing” stars Tim Allen, Nancy Travis, Molly Ephraim, Kaitlyn Dever, Amanda Fuller, and Hector Elizondo. It returns on Friday, November 2, 2012 at 7pm CST. “Malibu Country” stars Reba, Lily Tomlin, Sara Rue, Juliette Angelo, and Jai Rodriguez. It premieres on Friday, November 2, 2012 at 7:30pm CST. Both shows are on ABC.

Scarlett Pomers played a pivotal role in the sitcom Reba (2001-2007) as Kyra Hart, so her absence from the sitcom’s fifth season was notable, causing fans to wonder what happened. The six-season show was one of its kind, a multi-cam sitcom filmed in front of a large studio audience. At its anchor was country superstar Reba McEntire as Reba Hart, a single mom of three kids whose husband leaves her for his dental hygenist.

Many Star Trek fans recognize Pomers as the young Naomi Wildman in Star Trek: Voyager, and the child actress was right at home when she joined the cast of Reba as a teenager in the role of Kyra. Reba’s middle child, Kyra was known for her sharp wit, sarcastic humor, yubi, and rebellious nature. Kyra’s character often challenged her mother and older sister, bringing an edge to the show’s family dynamics. As one of the key characters, Kyra’s quick comebacks and teenage rebellion endeared her to fans, and she was sorely missed in season 5.

Scarlett Pomers Sought Treatment For An Eating Disorder

Scarlett Pomers as Kyra in Reba (2001) looking sad

Pomers had appeared as Kyra in every season of Reba up until season 5, where her character was only in two episodes. This absence was due to Pomers’ battle with anorexia nervosa, a serious eating disorder that led to her weight dropping dangerously low. In late 2005, she sought treatment and took time off from the show to focus on her health, checking herself into a treatment facility. After leaving the facility in 2006, Pomers went public about her struggles, and she used her platform to raise awareness about eating disorders (via Wide Open Country).

Following her recovery, Pomers became an ambassador for the National Eating Disorders Association, using her experience to help others struggling with similar issues. She also launched Arch-Angels, a charity dedicated to raising funds for those who cannot afford treatment for eating disorders. Pomers started the organization after witnessing families go bankrupt trying to save their children from these life-threatening conditions. She told The Baltimore Sun,

A lot of people only think it affects women – young, white women. It can happen to anybody, and it does happen to a lot of people. No one’s safe.

Scarlett Pomers did return to Reba for the sitcom’s sixth and final season, and was greeted by enthusiastic applause from the live studio audience. Rather than offer a lengthy explanation as to Kyra’s absence, Reba simply asks her daughter, “Where have you been?. The middle Hart child replies, “I went to get something to eat.”

This joke was later repeated throughout the episode, an obvious reference to Pomers’ eating disorder. While this may seem like it was in poor taste, Pomers has never publically spoken out about it, and her willingness to come back to the show after departing in season 5 suggests she was fine with the joke.

In an interview with StarTrek.com, Pomers was asked if she was finished with Hollywood, and she replied,

Pretty much. I’ve been doing some voiceover work here and there, but for the most part I’m focused on the music and photography. That keeps me busy and happy, and I can make enough of a living doing it.

Pomers has thoroughly embraced her passion for music, forming the band SCARLETT, which played various event venues in Los Angeles. She also released her debut EP, Insane, in 2010, though she confessed in the StarTrek.com interview that it was a pure passion project and she wasn’t in it for the money.

In addition to her photography pursuits, Pomers also opened an online jewelry store, The Mermaid’s Lure, though it doesn’t appear to be selling more products. However, Pomers has recently resurfaced on social media, and has begun posting on her Facebook and Instagram pages again. In her Instagram bio, she describes herself as “Writer. Director. Horror enthusiast,” so it could very well be possible that directing a horror movie is in Pomers’ post-Reba future.

Bad News for Reba Fans: McEntire Delivers a Heartbreaking Update on Revival Plans

Reba Star Reveals Why Sitcom Revival Hasn’t Happened With New Update

    Reba show cast

Lead actress Reba McEntire explains why there has been little development on the Reba revival. The 2000 WB sitcom starred McEntire as the eponymous protagonist, a single mom who takes over the responsibility of her family after her husband Brock (Christopher Rich) leaves her for a much younger dental hygienist, Barbra Jean (Melissa Peterman).

Reba proved to be a hit ratings-wise for The WB, but after season 5 the show was almost canceled when The WB and UPN merged into The CW, although ultimately it was picked up for a sixth season at the new network.

Even at The CW, Reba maintained its position as the channel’s most-watched sitcom, with its original runs and encores both drawing scores of viewers. However, in 2007, The CW surprisingly axed Reba, leaving the cast and fans in shock. The series now lives on in syndication, though there remains hope for a proper return. In July, McEntire offered hope for a potential Reba revival, saying that she, alongside some of her colleagues, were pushing hard to make the show happen.

However, according to Deadline, McEntire has now offered a disheartening update on plans for a Reba revival. As the actress reveals, the Reba cast remains busy with other projects, so it’s hard to get them together. Nevertheless, there is still some hope. Read what she said below.

“So many obstacles. The TV business changes so much that sometimes reboots are hot and then they’re not. Plus getting everyone scheduled together is also hard. Steve Howie is very busy, and so is Joanna Garcia. Mellisa [Peterman] is doing wonderful and here we are making a movie together. I guess timing and schedule will dictate that in the future.”

While the update likely disappoints those longing for a Reba revival, McEntire is right about the logistics being hard to figure out. First, the show was produced under the banner of 20th Century Fox, and with the company being absorbed into Disney, the new bosses might not see the appeal.

Reboots and revivals are undoubtedly hot these days, but broadcasters and streaming services tend to prioritize properties that have had mass followings during their runs, and with Reba not being a big-four sitcom, some might not perceive a revival as a safe bet. The sitcom was indeed a bit hit for its channel and parent networks, but with The CW undergoing a leadership change itself, the chances are not so bright that the new management would want to invest in a cult favorite over the more popular hits that are also ripe for a reboot treatment.

Despite the discouraging news, McEntire is not giving up hope on the possibility of a Reba revival. The show has a better shot at happening if all cast members are on board. However, as the star mentioned, the original Reba actors have been quite busy.

Once McEntire’s cast mates are through with their commitments, the team can sit down and work out the story details, as well as a potential schedule for the revival. That said, progress on the Reba reboot seems to be a developing situation, and whether the show happens will become clear in subsequent months if a proper plan takes shape and some concrete conversations happen.

Happy's Place's Melissa Peterman Still Wants 'Reba' Reunion

The longtime friends and Reba co-stars are set to reunite on a new sitcom, Happy’s Place, and on Tuesday, ET’s Deidre Behar was the first to break the news to Peterman that their pilot had been picked up to series by Peacock.

“Amazing!” the actress reacted. “I get to work with Reba and our team and I’m so excited!”

While the new series won’t be related to Reba in any way, there are familiar faces both in front of and behind the camera. In addition to Peterman, most of the creative team leads — executive producers Michael Hanel and Mindy Schultheis, as well as writer Kevin Abbott — also worked on McEntire’s eponymous sitcom, which ran on The WB and The CW from 2001-07.

“It’s whole new characters, a whole new scenario and a lot of our same team,” Peterman said of Happy’s Place. “The dynamic is gonna be that dynamic that we have, that natural one.”

“You’re lucky if you get one chance to work with people you love and have it be received so well and still sort of live on,” she reflected, “but I’ve had more than that and I mean, I feel like the luckiest.”

Happy’s Place — on which McEntire also serves as an executive producer — will star The Voice coach as Bobbie, a woman who inherits her father’s restaurant following his death. Things get interesting — and presumably hilarious — when she discovers that her business partner in the endeavor is a half-sister she never knew she had.

Hocus Pocus 2 star Belissa Escobedo stars as Bobbie’s younger half-sister, Isabella, while Peterman plays Gabby, a bartender at Bobbie’s newly inherited restaurant. Happy’s Place is also set to star Pablo Castelblanco, Tokala Black Elk, and McEntire’s real-life beau, Rex Linn — who previously co-starred with Peterman on Young Sheldon.

Of her matchmaking abilities between her co-star and her longtime pal, Peterman admitted, “I like to take a little credit.”

Mostly, the actress admitted, she’s happy to see McEntire happy in her new relationship — remarking how much their decades-long friendship has meant to her.

“She’s like coming home,” Peterman shared, tearing up. “I think that in this business, we have a lot of ‘Hollywood friends’ — friends that you share just the good stuff with. I think I knew that when we started sharing real-life stuff, that it was forever. I know she’s got my back whether we ever work together again. She is on my side always, and she knows I’m on her’s.”
