Ryan Seacrest’s future on Wheel of Fortune has become a hot topic, with fans speculating whether he is leaving the show. After officially stepping in as host in 2024, replacing longtime presenter Pat Sajak, rumors now suggest that Seacrest could be on his way out. With talk of his potential replacement circulating online, many are questioning if his tenure on the show will be short-lived.

So, is there any truth to these claims? Here’s what we know about Ryan Seacrest’s status on Wheel of Fortune.

Is Ryan Seacrest getting replaced on Wheel of Fortune?

There are no official reports confirming Ryan Seacrest’s departure from Wheel of Fortune.

The speculation began after a report from The US Sun report in December 2024 suggested that Maggie Sajak, daughter of former host Pat Sajak, might step in as the next host. Since 2021, she has been a social media correspondent, gaining traction for the show through social media sites. However, the reports revealed that if Seacrest didn’t manage to sign a new contract with the show, Maggie might step up to fulfill the hosting duties. However, neither Seacrest nor the show’s producers have commented on this claim.

The rumors intensified in January 2025, when another unverified claim suggested that Pat Sajak himself could return as host. Sajak, who had hosted the show since 1981, officially stepped down in 2024. He announced his retirement through X (formerly Twitter.)

Why 'Wheel of Fortune' Fans Are Doubting Ryan Seacrest's Hosting Ability - Newsweek

A source told Radar Online that Sajak allegedly has intentions of rejoining the popular game show, where he received massive support and love throughout the years. The source made a shocking revelation, claiming, “The truth is he never wanted to leave in the first place, they forced his hand, and now he wants his old job back.”

The source also reveals that though Seacrest might have a “multiyear” deal, he might not be able to stick around for a long time. As a result, Sajak will be “waiting in the wings to take over.” However, there is no official confirmation of these ongoing rumors.

Ryan Seacrest and Maggie Sajak know how to pull off a surprise.

Vanna White got a birthday surprise from her “Wheel of Fortune” family.

To celebrate the beloved letter-turner’s 68th birthday, the iconic game show’s official Instagram account shared a video of host Ryan Seacrest and social correspondent Maggie Sajak surprising White with a cake and candles.

While Sajak is seen standing in the room when White enters, Seacrest jumps up from behind a cabinet singing “Happy Birthday” to their “dear Vanna.”

“Oh, thank you guys so much,” White says after the two finish their tune.

Seacrest, after asking if they successfully surprised her, adds jokingly, “I’ve been down there for 45 minutes. My knees are aching.”

White then makes a wish, blows out the candles — after a few tries — and takes a bite of her “delicious” cake.

“We love you. I hope you have a wonderful, wonderful year,” Sajak says.

Ryan and Maggie Sajak helped Vanna mark a celebratory occasion.

preview for 5 Fun Facts About “Wheel of Fortune”

Ryan Seacrest pulled off the ultimate surprise for Vanna White — and he had the sweetest reason for doing so.

The duo famously star on Wheel of Fortune together, and Ryan decided he should find a way to celebrate Vanna’s 68th birthday on February 18. As folks saw in an Instagram clip, he and WoF social media correspondent Maggie Sajak chose to mark the occasion by throwing their co-worker a surprise party. But in typical Ryan fashion, the celebration was held in the most unexpected of places.

As viewers watched Ryan and Maggie hide out in Vanna’s dressing room, it didn’t take long before she spotted the two in her safe space. What’s more, they made sure to give Vanna a birthday cake and balloons, all while they serenaded her with a heartfelt (yet also off-key) rendition of “Happy Birthday.”

“We just had to surprise Vanna for her birthday! 🎂,” the caption read alongside the snippet. “Happiest of birthdays to the one and only, Vanna White!”

When fans saw Ryan’s take on throwing Vanna a birthday party, they immediately reached out to send their own warm wishes.

“HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO OUR WORD QUEEN!!! 🔠👸,” one person exclaimed in the comments. “Happy Birthday Vanna White, you are still my number 1 favorite hostess of Wheel of Fortune,” another declared. “Happy Happy Birthday Vanna! Wishing you a fabulous birthday celebrating you!” a different follower added.

Well, this is quite a way to kick off another year! And if that wasn’t enough, Ryan made sure to pay tribute to his co-star in his own unique way. Posting a series of photos of them on and away from the cameras on Instagram, he displayed how their friendship has expanded beyond the TV studio they film Wheel of Fortune in.

“Happy birthday to the one and only @officialvannawhite! 🎂,” he sweetly captioned the post on February 18.

We so adore this friendship, and we can only imagine what Vanna will have in store when it comes time to celebrate Ryan’s big day!

Pat Sajak became synonymous with “Wheel of Fortune” as its host and that’s something his successor Ryan Seacrest will take a long time to achieve. But in less than a year that he took up the role, the dissatisfaction of fans and certain reports suggest that he may not be around for that long. There’s also a chance that Sajak might swiftly make a comeback and take over once again, in case Seacrest is ousted.

According to a report in Radar, an insider from the show believes that Sajak’s appearance on “Celebrity Wheel of Fortune” revived his drive to be a host again thanks to the response he got from long-time fans. The former host even believes that Seacrest won’t be able to hold on to the position for a long time. “The truth is he never wanted to leave in the first place, they forced his hand, and now he wants his old job back,” the insider said.

“Ryan may have a multiyear deal, but Pat doesn’t think Ryan will be able to stick with it for the long term and he’ll be waiting in the wings to take over,” they added. However, there’s one more Sajak who might be poised to take over if the current host is asked to leave, and that’s Maggie Sajak who already works as the show’s social media correspondent. The US Sun reported that she is valuable to the showrunners since she can attract a younger audience and still be loved by older fans.

“Sony loves the ratings and wants to negotiate a much longer contract for Ryan, but right now they have to have contingency plans in place in case Ryan simply decides to move on,” the insider said. “Maggie has positioned herself to help out if there’s a hosting vacancy, and the franchise is in her blood and her appreciation for the world of Wheel of Fortune is genuine.”

Ever since he took the reins of the show, Seacrest has been hit by a barrage of criticism from Sajak’s loyal fans. These viewers seem to be unwilling to give the host even one full year to try and figure out how to best discharge his duties as the host of “Wheel of Fortune.” And so sometimes, the most ridiculous insinuations are made against him. One of the more recent ones on Reddit suggested that the current host of the show can’t read numbers.

“He just flips the gold envelope open, looks down at it, and then at the contestant. SO you can see that the puzzle was worth $40,000, BUT HE NEVER says the dollar amount of the prize out loud,” the post read. “ At first, I thought it was just him getting acclimated to the gig, but I’m starting to wonder if maybe he just can’t read numbers?” the user concluded.

Other fans of the show came to Seacrest’s defense. “Do you even watch the show? If you don’t like Ryan fine … but at least back your criticism up with substance. Saying he can’t read numbers is the most ludicrous thing I have ever heard,” one user called kerosenehat63 commented. “He doesn’t have to say them. The contestant and audience reactions speak for themselves,” another user explained.

NBC will show the division round clash between the Los Angeles Rams and Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday.

That game will kickoff at 3 pm ET, meaning an earlier start than what they’re used to during the regular season.

NBC usually broadcasts Sunday Night Football with kickoff just after 8 pm ET.

They have a studio show Football Night In America on air from 7 pm ET every week.

But for this Sunday, that will become more like football lunchtime with a 2 pm ET start for Maria Taylor and the crew.

CBS usually shares Sunday afternoon slots with Fox in the regular-season.

But they have been given the marquee showdown between the Baltimore Ravens and Buffalo Bills this weekend.

And that game will kickoff at 6.30 pm ET with Jim Nantz and Tony Romo on the call.

Romo apparently leaked the schedule before it was announced.

Or he was at least manifesting to be able to work on that game.

Nantz and Romo called the Buffalo Bills’ wild card win over the Denver Broncos last weekend.

And in the late stages of that dominant Bills win, the former Dallas Cowboys quarterback began looking ahead to the division round.

“Two MVP candidates playing the best football of their career,” Romo said of the clash between Lamar Jackson and Josh Allen.

“It’s a coin flip to me,” he added on the broadcast.

“I can’t want to do that game with you next week, buddy,” Romo then said to Nantz.

Sun 19 Jan, 6.30 pm ET (CBS) – Baltimore Ravens at Buffalo Bills

His partner laughed off Romo’s remark, which may have just been the former quarterback trying to manifest it into happening.

“That’s the game I’ve been waiting for,” Romo added.

The division round will kickoff Saturday at 4.30 pm ET with the Houston Texans against the Kansas City Chiefs.

ESPN and ABC will broadcast that game before handing over to Fox for the prime time clash.

That will feature the Detroit Lions taking on the Washington Commanders.

Norah O’Donnell slammed over final CBS News sign-off as viewers call it ‘a joke’ & point to moment that led to downfall

ANCHOR Norah O’Donnell has been slammed over her tearful goodbye as she signed off from CBS Evening News for the final time.

The veteran journalist is leaving the network after 12 years as CBS launches a major makeover for its news programs.

O’Donnell , 51, said her main anchor position, which she held since 2019, was the “honor of a lifetime” in an emotional goodbye on Thursday night.

“It has been an incredible five and a half years,” O’Donnell said.

However, some viewers quickly blasted the anchor on her way out and accused her of being biased against President Donald Trump.

“Nora, seriously, you are not a journalist. You are a joke,” one X user wrote in response to a video of her sentimental farewell.

“CBS is unwatchable. So so biased. Very disappointing,” another slammed.

Another accused her of being “biased and mean.”

Other CBS viewers recalled the vice presidential debate, which was moderated by O’Donnell and Margaret Brennan.

They insisted this was the moment that led to O’Donnell’s undoing as the face of the evening program.

“Norah O’Donnell is leaving the CBS Evening News after tonight’s broadcast,” one X user wrote on Thursday.

“Leave and don’t come back. You disgraced yourself during the VP debate.”

Another raged, “So disappointed in Margaret since the debate! Along with Norah O’Donnell. Blatantly biased against Trump.”

A third added, “I’m glad she is gone! I have not turned on [CBS News] since debate! She was a mouth piece for Democrats not real news.”

“Her disgraceful behavior as a debate moderator made me question whether she was like that about everything,” another wrote.

“Newsroom reform would be a wonderful thing, but I don’t expect to see it.”

    Norah O’Donnell’s final on-air sign-off

Norah O’Donnell said goodbye to her spot as the main CBS Evening News anchor on Thursday night.

“This has been the honor of a lifetime to anchor this legacy broadcast,” O’Donnell said.

“The CBS Evening News – for good reason – is the longest-running evening newscast in America. And it is powered by the finest journalists in the world.

“The correspondents, producers, researchers and crews who work tirelessly to bring you the news every night.

“That won’t change because journalism matters.

“I know that because I’ve heard that from so many of you, our viewers.

“So from the bottom of my heart, thank you for trusting us and welcoming hard news with heart into your homes.

“I will miss you too, but I will see you on CBS News programs including Mornings, 60 Minutes, Sunday Morning, and in primetime.

“So for the final time, that’s tonight’s CBS Evening News,” she said as she was flanked by her colleagues.

“I owe it all to everyone I work with. Seriously. Love you. Good night.”

O’Donnell and Brennan interrupted the debate on October 1 between JD Vance and Tim Walz to conduct a fact check.

It sparked outrage as CBS had previously said there would be no mid-debate corrections.

Trump blasted the moderators as “extremely biased” and “liars” in a post on Truth Social at the time.

He also called out O’Donnell for stepping down as an anchor, which she announced in July.

“I thought Norah was fired from CBS for Low Ratings. Why is she still on?” Trump wrote at the time.

He later added, “Norah just made a statement about the Election, not a question. She’s having a bad night!”

    O’DONNELL’S FUTURE

O’Donnell announced in July 2024 that she would leave her role as anchor and managing editor after the 2024 presidential election as CBS faced an overhaul.

Instead of anchoring every night from Washington DC, O’Donnell will now work on long-form stories and appear on CBS’s primetime specials Sunday Morning and 60 Minutes.

The correspondent was named host and managing editor of CBS Evening News in 2019 after seven years as co-anchor of CBS This Morning.

Before joining CBS News in 2011, O’Donnell had a 12-year run at NBC News, where she served as the network’s Washington Bureau correspondent and MSNBC’s Chief White House correspondent.

The longtime anchor announced her decision to leave CBS just months before the network’s parent company, Paramount Global, laid off around 2,000 staffers, 15% of its US employees, in its merger with Skydance Media in August.

The planned merger, expected to finish in September 2025, sparked Paramount Global to cut $500 million before the end of 2024.

It came after O’Donnell’s salary was cut by more than half when it dropped from $8 million to $3.8 million in 2022, according to the New York Post .

CBS’ Evening News will now rely on multiple co-anchors to fill O’Donnell’s spot.

The network is moving toward a more digital-centric broadcast to follow along with industry trends.

In terms of ratings, CBS Evening News has been stuck in third place behind ABC’s World News Tonight and NBC’s NBC Nightly News for years.

    ‘WHAT AN ICON’

While Trump supporters piled on O’Donnell following her exit on Thursday, other CBS viewers showed their support for the veteran broadcaster.

“Really going to miss her,” one X user wrote.

“What an icon she is. Best wishes to her!”

Another added, “This will be the biggest regret for CBS News. Norah is hands down the best of all news media.”

CBS isn’t the only network facing major changes.

The CEO of CNN warned that the network could “no longer exist” if it doesn’t adapt to the changing landscape of legacy media.

Plus, more speculation is swirling about CNN anchor Jim Acosta’s future.

However, Acosta gave a cheeky sign-off on Friday where he vowed he’s “still reporting from Washington.”

JD Vance SLAMS CBS host for claiming bold ‘BONKERS’ claim

JD Vance slams CBS host for claiming free speech was ‘weaponized’ in Germany to carry out Holocaust during argument with Marco Rubio

CBS journalist Margaret Brennan was rebuked Sunday after she claimed that free speech was “weaponized” in Germany to carry out the Holocaust during a back-and-forth with Secretary of State Marco Rubio.

The two sparred over Vice President JD Vance’s fiery speech at the Munich Security Conference, where he slammed European leaders for censorship and said “the threat from within,” rather than Russia or China, posed the greatest danger to the security of the West.

Rubio was quick to defend the veep after Brennan asked about the remarks, which irked US allies, and Vance’s reported meeting with a far-right German leader ahead of the country’s chancellor election.

Brennan faced heat over remarks made on Sunday.
“Why would our allies or anybody be irritated by free speech and by someone giving their opinion? We are, after all, democracies,” Rubio said on CBS’s “Face the Nation.”

“And so, I think if anyone’s angry about his words, they don’t have to agree with him, but to be angry about it, I think actually makes his point,” he added.

Brennan, 44, then offered a historically dubious response.

“Well, he was standing in a country where free speech was weaponized to conduct a genocide, and he met with the head of a political party that has far-right views and some historic ties to extreme groups,” she said. “The context of that was changing the tone of it. And you know that.”

Rubio, 53, quickly cut in and strenuously objected.

“No, I have — I have to disagree with you. Free speech was not used to conduct a genocide,” the former US senator said.

“The genocide was conducted by an authoritarian Nazi regime that happened to also be genocidal because they hated Jews and they hated minorities and they hated those that they — they had a list of people they hated, but primarily the Jews.

“There was no free speech in Nazi Germany. There was none,” Rubio added.

Fans have been left wondering why Joy Behar has been absent from The View for the past week, with some concerned she might be leaving the show.

Last Thursday, host Whoopi Goldberg, 69, addressed her absence, and told viewers: “Joy is not here. We wish her a happy opening night. It’s tonight.”

Whoopi was referring to Joy’s off-Broadway play, My First Ex-Husband, which premiered last week at New York’s Mac-Haydn Theater.

She wrote the production and also performs in it, alongside Tovah Feldshuh, Susie Essman, and Adrienne C. Moore.

Joy hasn’t been on The View since last Monday (February 3), with former co-host Star Jones filling in for her.

But now she has returned to her place on the panel, much to the delight of fans.

However, it’s now been revealed there is more to her absence than just her off-Broadway show.

Speaking about why she has been away from The View, Joy said: “I was sick!”

Although she didn’t disclose what illness she’d had, she hinted she had been unwell all week – and just as her off-Broadway show was kicking off.

Asked how Mr First Ex-Husband was going, she replied: “It’s going really well, people seem to like it!.

    WEEKENDS WITH THE VIEW

Meanwhile, The View is going from strength-to-strength and has even introduced a new weekend show.

Due to its popularity, the show – which first premiered in 1997 – has been given an extra slot on a Saturday.

The popular American talk show was created by broadcast journalist Barbara Walters.

It is currently in its 28th season, and after its recent boost in ratings, it was given an extra show each week.

Since last month The Weekend View now airs on ABC News Live, which is the streaming platform website.

The show is half an hour long and features the show’s Friday panel.

However, Whoopi wont be on the show because she doesn’t work on Fridays.

The Hollywood star only appears on The View each Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

‘The Price is Right’ Fans Notice Games Being Pushed Out

Is ‘The Price is Right’ Phasing Out These Games?

Is The Price is Right starting to phase out certain games? Some fans certainly suspect as much.

It has been months since we’ve seen certain games. For example, one Reddit user noticed that TPIR doesn’t use the game Safe Crackers very anymore. In Safe Crackers, two prizes are shown to the contestant inside a huge safe on set. One of the prizes has three digits for its price. The three numbers are shown to the contestant in the form of a combination on the safe. The player must put the numbers in the correct order to guess to price and win the prizes in the safe. After picking the numbers, they have to turn the handle to see if the safe opens. If it does, they win.

“First thing I want to say is that it’s been two months since Safe Crackers was played and something is telling me that they plan to retire it,” the Reddit user said.

“I recall seeing it in use this season, so who knows if they’re winding down its use?” a fan replied.

“Most likely a props storage issue. They have very limited storage space, and Safe Crackers is a massive set to have to transport from the storage facility 2 miles away,” another said.

However, one fan wrote that Safe Cracker was “definitely on recently.”

The second thing that the original Reddit poster pointed out was that the train and tugboat aren’t used anymore when it is time to make a bid. The tugboat and train were added to the game show in May 1984 when Bob Barker hosted. The models would simply ride out on a train and show off the item up for bid as the other one drove the vehicle. Sometimes it was a boat, sometimes it was a train.

Since Drew Carey has taken over as host, the apparatuses do not seem to be used as much. Instead, the models will show off the products behind curtains or simply on the stage. But, they have been used a few times during the Carey era.

“They should have gotten rid of the train a long time ago, to be honest,” a Reddit user said.

“The tugboat is really old. I have seen the train reappear a few times recently, which found me surprised,” said another.

“If you ever watch old episodes with Bob, it’s amazing how frequently they used the train. Seems like it was used two or three times during a week’s worth of episodes,” another wrote.

The reason for the train and tugboat being discontinued could be due to an error that happened earlier in February. The contestants bid on an espresso machine, a thermal programmable coffee maker, and a coffee bean grinder by Cuisinart that were being pulled out on a flatbed by The Price is Right train.

The train flew onto the stage and came to a sudden stop. As announcer George Grey revealed the prizes, one of the models showed them off. As the camera panned back to Carey and the contestants to start bidding, off-screen a loud crash happened. All of the prizes had fallen off the train and broke into little pieces.

“Won’t be seeing the train again,” Carey quipped.

The Price is Right has had over 75 games since its inception in 1972. Some of the most popular ones are Plinko, Dice Game, Cliff Hangers, and Hole in One.
