Elon Musk Hits Out At Saturday Night Live After Being Mocked, Says Show "Has Been Dying Slowly"
Elon Musk at one of Donald Trump’s rallies.

Elon Musk has hit out at a Saturday Night Live (SNL) skit mocking him. The said episode aired on November 9, days after Donald Trump’s win in the US presidential election that shocked the world. Both Mr Musk and Mr Trump were lampooned in the episode, with actors sarcastically sharing their support for the president-elect to avoid being put on his “enemies list”. Mr Musk’s character was portrayed by Dana Carvey, a regular SNL cast member. The episode was hosted by comedian and actor Bill Burr.

During the episode, comedian Kenan Thompson said, “If our planet falls apart, we can all go to Mars with the other man that we love and trust: Elon Musk.” At this point, Carvey appears mimicking Mr Musk.

He wore a dark MAGA hat while jumping up and down with his hands in the air.

“Check it out: dark MAGA. Yeah! But seriously, I run the country now. America’s going to be like one of my rockets. They’re super cool and super fun, but there’s a slight chance it could blow up and everybody dies. Haha!” said Carvey.

He also threw his hands in the air and exclaimed, “See you in the White House!”

The billionaire was not impressed by the skit and wrote “Dana Carvey just sounds like Dana Carvey,” on X, replying under a clip.

Responding to another post, he wrote, “They are so mad that @realDonaldTrump won,” and also added a few crying-laughing emojis.

“SNL has been dying slowly for years, as they become increasingly out of touch with reality. Their last-ditch effort to cheat the equal airtime requirements and prop up Kamala before the election only helped sink her campaign further,” another of his comments read.

Mr Musk had thrown his weight behind Mr Trump, urging voters to elect the Republican leader. He had even offered cash rewards to people who vote.

According to Bloomberg, Mr Musk’s net worth has surpassed $300 billion for the first time in almost three years, as shares of Tesla Inc. soar on bets that his close ties with President-elect Donald Trump will bolster the company.

Tesla’s stock has jumped 28per cent since Tuesday’s close, increasing his wealth by $50 billion to $313.7 billion.

Saturday Night Live Shows Some Teeth Mocking Fox News

In the lead-up to the midterms, the show parodied cable-news hysteria over the migrant caravan, and contrasted it with liberal panic over the coming election.

    Updated on November 4, 2018.

Everyone’s panicked. That’s how Saturday Night Live summed up the final days before the midterm elections, from both sides of the spectrum, in an episode that felt a little more knowing and sharp than the show’s broad, goofy portrayals of the Kavanaugh confirmation and its aftermath. The episode began with Kate McKinnon’s parody of Laura Ingraham’s Fox News show, The Ingraham Angle, as she warned of the approaching migrant caravan in apocalyptic terms, villainizing the “dozens—maybe millions” of Central American refugees to fire up her viewing base and get them to the polls.

Following that was a parody ad in which Democratic voters, burned by 2016’s polling misfire, looked into the camera and shakily proclaimed their belief that this time, things would be different. “There’s a blue wave on the horizon, and I have never … felt more … confident …” said Heidi Gardner, playing a mom, holding up a trembling thumb. With Alec Baldwin perhaps unavailable due to his recent arrest, the show swerved away from its vaudevillian portrayal of President Donald Trump and instead animated the country’s climate of fear ahead of the November 6 elections. From the right-wing media, an implausible warning of impending doom; from progressive voters, a total lack of resoluteness that things could ever swing in their direction.

“Of course, the liberal media is trying to label President Trump a racist, but except for his words and actions throughout his life, how is he racist?” Ingraham asked the audience incredulously. “All of a sudden, the term nationalist is bad. The word white is bad. The phrase white nationalist is bad!” Then she brought in Fox News regulars like Jeanine Pirro (Cecily Strong) and David Clarke (Kenan Thompson) to back up arguments that the migrant caravan contained “Guatemalans, Mexicans, ISIS, the Menendez brothers, the 1990 Detroit Pistons, Thanos, and several Babadooks,” playing footage of zombie swarms from World War Z as a final coup de grace.

Saturday Night Live' Mocks Fox News and the Midterms - The Atlantic

In its 44th season, SNL has struggled to parody a presidential administration that’s already given to extreme bombast. Though Baldwin’s performance as Trump was initially startling and a much-needed jolt of energy during the 2016 campaign, Baldwin has grown increasingly listless in the role as Trump’s presidency drags on. Sketches about Trump’s cabinet members have felt similarly one-note, portraying them mostly as brainless simpletons rather than actively polarizing figures. In contrast, SNL’s take on cable news can be surprisingly pointed, and last night’s sketch was unafraid to present Fox News as a malevolent force, even as it threw in ludicrous jokes about the migrant caravan walking “at a normal pace of 300 miles a day.”

The Democratic “get out the vote” commercial was very much in SNL’s wheelhouse, mocking liberals who are afraid to make even the broadest guarantee of their party’s success, no matter what the polling says. “It’s a win we need, and a win we’re going to get, I’m sure of it,” said Beck Bennett’s office worker as he tried to sip coffee from his quaking hand. “They say don’t trust the polls, but I’m choosing to,” added McKinnon’s small-business owner, later screaming with enough anguish to shatter her shop windows.

Another segment, a monologue by Pete Davidson on Weekend Update mocking several Republican candidates for office, stirred up some controversy by targeting Dan Crenshaw, who is running for Congress in Texas and wears an eye patch after losing an eye in combat in Afghanistan. “This guy is kinda cool … You may be surprised to hear he’s a congressional candidate from Texas, and not a hitman in a porno movie,” Davidson said, adding, “I’m sorry, I know he lost his eye in war, or whatever,” with a trademark shrug. Davidson’s unvarnished approach to stand-up has felt particularly frayed in recent weeks (since his now-imploded relationship with Ariana Grande put him in the tabloid spotlight all summer), but it was still a joke along typical lines for him, and sheer shock value is never a particularly useful element to good satire.

Still, it was an altogether strong episode for SNL, held together by host Jonah Hill, who made his fifth appearance and was inducted into the “five-timers club” by other five-time hosts such as Tina Fey, Drew Barrymore, and Candice Bergen. Hill mostly dominated the show’s apolitical sketches, such as one featuring the return of his grandstanding 6-year-old comedian, Adam Grossman. Broadly silly material like that is a crucial part of the mix as the show fosters newer talent and tries to identify future stars.

Along those lines, this season has had a number of more absurd sketches that really sang, like the debut of Bayou Benny in Seth Meyers’s episode, or Adam Driver’s tour de force as a grumpy oil prospector in “Career Day.” If it can hone its political edge again, SNL will officially be on the rebound after a couple of years that leaned way too heavily on stunt casting and tired recurring characters. Maybe making fun of Donald Trump isn’t the way to do that—instead, the show can point the camera at the ways he’s warped political discourse beyond recognition.

As of 2024, Ainsley Earhardt has a net worth of $16 million. She earns $2.5 million salary annually from Fox News. Sean Hannity proposed to Earhardt over Christmas and the two are engaged now. Earhardt’s wealth has more than doubled since her divorce.

This arrangement mirrors Scarlett Johansson’s prenuptial agreement with Colin Jost, but in their case, Johansson would owe Jost compensation for infidelity.

With wedding bells once again in the air for Ainsley Earhardt, this time with fellow Fox News host Sean Hannity, we were wondering — whatever happened to her ex-husband, Will Proctor? While Earhardt has had quite the transformation with her blossoming career at Fox News, Proctor has mostly retreated from the spotlight since divorcing Earhardt.

According to their company website, Proctor is the head of sponsor coverage and a managing director at Neuberger Berman, which is an investment management firm that he has been working at since 2012. Outside the Fox News orbit of his ex-wife Earhardt, Proctor is best known for his football career as a starting quarterback and team captain for Clemson University, after which he played in the Canadian Football League for two seasons, retiring from football after the 2008 season.

The couple then met in 2012, when according to the Daily Mail, Proctor met Earhardt on a blind date and married her the same year, with Proctor being about seven years younger than her. While the two were together, the couple reportedly struggled for over a year to have a child, with Elle reporting that Earhardt had a difficult miscarriage before they welcomed their daughter Hayden Dubose Proctor in 2015. The two were only together for four more years until Proctor filed for divorce in 2019, though the reason behind the divorce makes us wonder why it wasn’t Earhardt filing the papers.

They Divorced Amidst Allegations Of Proctor’s Infidelity

Perhaps a large part of the reason we don’t know much about what Will Proctor has been up to is that he and Ainsley Earhardt divorced amidst salacious rumors that he had cheated on her, which is only one of the numerous tragedies that have befallen Earhardt. The affair wasn’t with just anyone, but allegedly with Earhart’s close friend, though the Daily Mail reported that the betrayal allegedly happened years before the divorce but provided for a marital issue that the two could not work through. “It was all the more devastating for Ainsley that he cheated with someone who she considered one of her closest friends,”  a friend of Earhardt told the Daily Mail. “She has evidence that proves the affair.”

However, Proctor denied the affair and made a statement to the Daily Mail. “There is not one ounce of truth to the allegation that I had an affair,” he said. “I am devastated about this situation and did not envision this for the future of our family.”

However, according to the Daily Mail, their daughter was also a point of contention between the two with Proctor reportedly upset that Earhardt regularly posted pictures of their daughter on social media and even on her show “Fox & Friends” to promote her image. But despite the strange things we’ve noticed about Earhardt and Sean Hannity’s relationship, maybe their newly announced nuptials will help Proctor come off the bench and out of the shadows to get his own groove back.

Leah McSweeney's Feud With SNL Star Michael Che Resurfaces as the Comedian Seemingly Exposed the RHONY Star

Leah McSweeney‘s old feud with Saturday Night Live comedian Michael Che recently resurfaced, and it’s not the best look for the Married to the Mob founder.

Prior to joining The Real Housewives of New York City in season 12, Leah seemingly met Michael on a dating app and later went on to slam the star as “D-list” and “arrogant.”

“I met a comedian, I’ve dealt with a few comedians,” she began her rant on an episode of her Improper Etiquette podcast in 2017 per Page Six. “They are the worst, I don’t even know why I entertain this but I have to say … Michael Che is so arrogant and so rude and disrespectful that I cannot even believe that someone … you’re like a D-list celebrity to me, whatever, that’s why I don’t even care that I’m saying his name. I’m not like blowing up Jay Z’s spot.”

She then went on to accuse the comedian of hating women and texting her random messages about being “fat.”

“Why are you on a dating app if you hate women,” Leah snarked. “Literally, you’ve never met me and you’re texting me like I’m a stupid b*tch … texting me and being mad rude. He kept just texting me, going, ‘I’m fat. Does that turn you on?’ And I’m like, ‘you’re fat? I think I’ve seen you and you’re not fat, OK.’”

She continued, “You’re trying to f*ck with me? I don’t get it. You’re just a f*cking dork wearing Air Force Ones [sneakers] at the end of the day. Like, cause you’re sitting up there writing your jokes on a little card, trying to figure out what the f*ck. His Netflix special [“Michael Che Matters”] is actually funny … arrogance is ignorance to me. You don’t know me, you don’t know nothing about me, you don’t know we have mad friends in common and like, you’re gonna treat me like some stupid b*tch? Like f*ck you. I just can’t deal.”

Unfortunately for Leah, once Michael heard what she had to say about him, he dropped receipts of their conversations, which do not appear to support Leah’s side of the story.

“Hey remember me,” she wrote in November 2016 as she began a conversation about Michael living in the Hell’s Kitchen neighborhood in New York City. She added, “Lots of food options at least.”

    “[I’m] fat,” he responded.

“I’m laughing out loud. [Are you]?” she asked.

Following the exchange, Leah tried to reach out to Michael again on two separate occasions, but she was left on read.

Then, in late December 2016, she wrote, “U hate me [because] I’m White. Our conversations [are] everything to me [by the way]. We have a lot of friends in common and if [any one] of them saw this I would [be] so ashamed.”

It seems Michael was not amused as he bluntly let Leah know he had no interest in meeting her after she wrote, “Do u ever want to meet up? Or [are] we just gonna text each other randomly until eternity? Well, I did think it was odd [you] kept saying [you’re] fat.”

“I [don’t] wanna meet up,” he replied. “You text really strange declarations looking for a reaction, and I don’t wanna know what’s the real life equivalent of that.”

Screenshots of some of the text messages are below. You can click on the images to enlarge them.

Oddly, it was Leah herself who sent Michael the link to the podcast episode, writing, “Hope you can make some time in [your] busy schedule to listen. [You] gave me some great content. Why men think it’s [okay] to talk to a woman they’ve never even met in such [an] arrogant and gross way.”

She added, “It’s [definitely] a disease going around. It’s not just you. Don’t worry.”

Michael simply replied with a thumbs up emoji, but he told Page Six at the time that “he’s proud of [his] curves.”

Colin Jost and Michael Che slammed for going above and beyond with their biting humour, pushing boundaries during the Saturday Night Live’s final Weekend Update of 2024.

The show delivered a shocking, cringe-worthy segment that left audiences and the host stunned.

While Jost has previously been subjected to crude jokes about his wife, Scarlett Johansson, the stakes were raised with a live camera capturing her real-time reactions to the savage jabs.

During a recent episode of The Lonely Island and Seth Meyers Podcast, Meyers and Andy Samberg discussed the segment, with Samberg admitting that Jost “really got the worst side of it this year.”

David Spade is still trying to wrap his head around the current Saturday Night Live castmember’s casual relationship with creator Lorne Michaels.

The comedian-actor, who was a castmember on the NBC sketch comedy show from 1990 to 1996, recently told Dana Carvey on their Fly on the Wall podcast that he was shocked by how the show’s new kids speak to Michaels, as the dynamic was much different during his time on the show.

Spade recalled repertory player Sarah Sherman telling him she “texted [Lorne Michaels] and said, ‘Why did my sketch get cut?’” But a bewildered Spade thought, “I’m like, you text Lorne? That floors me.”

Carvey, a castmember on SNL from 1986 to 1993, was also seemingly surprised and asked, “As a cast member? During the show?”

The Grown Ups actor proceeded to detail a behind-the-scenes moment with Michaels and Sherman during rehearsals for the Dec. 7 episode.

“Lorne was giving notes when I did Hunter Biden,” he recalled. “We’re all sitting there and Lorne’s got a microphone and he’s like, ‘Cold open.’ He starts reading and then he goes, ‘Sarah’ — because she was [playing] Matt Gaetz — ‘maybe you gotta face … you’re not in the light enough. Can you face more towards the middle?’ She goes, ‘I’ll try.’ I’m like, ‘How about yes, sir?’”

David Spade was shocked by current 'SNL' cast being so lax with Lorne Michaels: “That floors me” : r/television

Spade and Carvey’s reactions signal that maybe the dynamic on SNL in the ’90s wasn’t as lax as it is for the current generation. Michaels created the sketch comedy program in 1975 and has executive produced the show since, bringing it to its current 50th season.

However, SNL star Bowen Yang shared last year on Hot Ones that while he was initially intimidated by Michaels after a “disaster” of a screen test, he later realized how encouraging and kind the TV legend is.

“Aidy Bryant was the one who told me, ‘You can be, like, friends with him now,’” Yang recounted. “I think Lorne at one point was hanging out with Aidy and was kind of chuckling about it like, ‘I think Bowen sees me as a mountain to climb, and I don’t want him to think that anymore.’ And that kind of gave me the encouragement to just go up to him and be like, ‘Oh, we can relate to each other on a human-to-human level,’ which I never thought would happen with him.”

On The Price Right, games come and go, while other popular games might stick around with occasional changes.

During a recent episode of the popular game show, host Drew Carey mentioned how production had changed up a longtime pricing game.

He had a contestant on stage to play the game Back to ’75, which features various items from years ago.

Contestants must determine the price of the three items from the show back in 1975.

The contestant has $50 on the gameboard, which resembles a vintage TV screen. After guessing an item’s price, each dollar they are off by gets deducted from the $50 they have on the board.

In the latest contestant’s situation, she could win $25,000 if she didn’t lose all $50 on the board after estimating the prices of the three items.

Drew spoke about changes to a popular TPIR game

While presenting the game in 2025, host Drew Carey brought up a noticeable update.

“If you notice, new year, we changed the background to Back to ’75,” he told everyone.

He explained that in 1975, they “redesigned the look of the show” and made changes like extending it to an hour long and bringing in the Big Wheel for the Showcase round.

“Same TV, though,” Drew joked while discussing the game’s recent update.

The host said the game was originally Back to ’72 for the 50th anniversary of the show. It stuck around due to its popularity and got renamed Back to ’75.

During the modern-day game, George Gray read the original copy for each of the three items from back in 1975, and then the contestant could turn the dial to “dial in the price” they thought that item cost in 1975.

George revealed that the first of three items was a Schick air-freshening machine that periodically sprayed a fresh scent. She estimated the price to be $16, but she was only four dollars off since it was $20.

Next up was a Litronix 2230 calculator with big red buttons. George said it was “unconditionally guaranteed to the original owner for one full year from date of receipt.”

Drew was amused by that line and laughed at George after he finished. George reminded him it was the original copy for the 1975 item. The contestant dialed in a price of $34 and was under by just six dollars.

Lastly, there was a Tele-Games version of the classic game Pong from Sears. When Drew saw that item, he got excited and raised one fist to celebrate the prize.

“Hey man, your mom gets your video games from Sears,” Drew joked as the contestant consulted with the audience.

The contestant estimated it cost $62, but the actual price was $100. However, with $40 left on the game’s dial, she had two dollars left after all three items. She was ecstatic as she’d won $25,000 for her great guesses.

Some fans questioned TPIR’s changes to the game, and others celebrated ‘vintage’ aspects

In the YouTube comments, several fans called out the change, seeming to criticize aspects of the update.

One commenter indicated that The Price Is Right needed to wait slightly longer in 2025 to make the change.

“Too soon to change that backdrop of the old turntable. They should have waited until the 54th season to do that. The set change happened in August 1975 when they were still doing all new shows for the summer,” a fan wrote.
screenshot of fans comments about the price is right game changePic credit: @thepriceisright/YouTube
Another asked if they would “change the name of this game every year, a la Match Game?”

“I think the game should be called ‘The Price WAS Right’, that way they can have items from different years the show has been on that need to be guessed on,” they commented.

Another individual mentioned that the show had a pricing game called The Price Was Right, which replaced the Showcase Showdown during the “disastrous 1994 New Price Is Right.”

Some fans praised seeing this game in the highlight clip and reminisced about various aspects of it.

One fan said they love “the vintage prize music that plays as George reads the original copy.”

“I love the classic music cues!!! Please use them more often. Feels like the Price is Right we all know and love,” a commenter said.

A commenter said, “Love how enthusiastic Drew was with the Pong system. Must’ve played it when he was a kid.”

“These are the same exact prize copies that were first read out by the late great Johnny Olson,” another fan commented.

The Back to ’72 game debuted in September 2022, returned for Season 51 as Back to ’73, and continues to be updated yearly. Given its unique format, including vintage items and intriguing copy, it should stay as the show continues.

Wheel of Fortune hosts Ryan Seacrest and Vanna White are getting on like a house on fire, so much so that they’ve reached the gift-giving stage of their friendship. Now Ryan has revealed the somewhat unusual item Vanna just gifted him that some folks may seem as a tad awkward.

Speaking to People ahead of the 2025 Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve special on December 31, Seacrest reflected on his 2024 and what it’s like working with the legendary letter-turner, White.

“She’s so super generous and sweet and kind,” Seacrest said before revealing that one day, White came to set with an unexpected but appreciated gift for him.

“She even brought me — because I was saying, I drink very strong black coffee and my teeth, sometimes you can see it — she brought me white strips,” the American Idol host shared. “She brought me white strips. She went to the store the next day. She brought me white strips.”

Perhaps some might be offended by such a gift as it could be construed as suggesting that Ryan’s teeth are less than perfect. But not Seacrest, who referred to White as “an institution… She’s amazing. She’s everything you think Vanna White will be when you meet her!”

Seacrest took over as Wheel of Fortune host in September following Pat Sajak‘s retirement back in June. Knowing he had big shoes to fill, Seacrest admitted he was nervous on his first day on the job, but White helped ease him into the role.

“She and I have been friends for two decades,” he told People last year. “We have had a chance to get to know each other a lot more over the weeks that we’ve been shooting together. But I can’t imagine Wheel of Fortune without Vanna White.

He added, “When I signed on to do the deal, that same day, I spoke to Vanna via text, and I just let her know I’m so excited and I hope that she’ll be with the show as long as she wants to be. We’ve had a magical time together so far.”

Last month, Seacrest surprised White by inviting her into his dressing room and playing tracks from her 1996 Christmas album, Santa’s Last Ride. It took White a few moments to realize it was her voice coming from the speakers, telling Seacrest, “Wow, I’m in shock!”

“This is one of my favorite albums,” Seacrest stated. “I listen to it every year.”
