The Masked Singer Season 14 Latest News

The Masked Singer Will Skip Its Next Fall Season

The Masked Singer Season 13 Contestant Pearl Promotional Photo

The Masked Singer will return for season 14, but in January 2026, rather than fall 2025, according to the announcement that aired after the season 13 finale. However, Deadline reported that this change isn’t permanent, and the show will most likely air twice a year again in the future. The network told the outlet that The Masked Singer will return with a “super-charged” season 14. A FOX spokesperson said, “Debuting the new season in January is a strategic move to give ample runway for America’s favorite guessing game and allow us to creatively look at enhancing the show with the biggest names at the center of it.”

It’s very surprising that The Masked Singer won’t return in the fall for season 14 because it’s been such a big hit for FOX, and fans truly love it. This hiatus will definitely leave fans wanting more. However, if airing the show for only one season in 2025 leads to it coming back bigger and better than ever in 2026, then perhaps this is the right move for the mystery celebrity competition series.

The Masked Singer Season 14 Potential Host & Panelists

Could Nicole Scherzinger Return To The Panel?

The Masked Singer Season 12 Panelists Montage

When The Masked Singer returns for season 14, Nick will most likely come back as the host, along with Robin, Jenny, and Ken as panelists. However, now that Nicole’s Broadway show, Sunset Boulevard, is closing on July 13, 2025, the door has once again opened for her to return to the show. This could mean that Rita won’t be a panelist anymore. However, the show has had guest panelists who’ve taken a fifth seat at the table, so it’s also possible that they could all remain on the show. This is just speculation at this point, but anything can happen on The Masked Singer.

Rita came to The Masked Singer US after serving as a panelist on The Masked Singer UK for five seasons. If Nicole does come back to the show, perhaps Rita will return to the UK version, and remain a member of the Masked Singer family. She’s done such a fabulous job with the show, so it would be great to see her stick with it.

The Masked Singer season 13 was one of the best ever with its exciting theme nights, phenomenal performances, and thrilling reveals. The finale was so exciting with four finalists competing after Taika Waititi’s Detective Lucky Duck sent everyone to the last episode. It was thrilling when Gretchen Wilson won the Golden Mask Trophy as Pearl, with Andy Grammer as Boogie Woogie as the runner-up, Meg Donnelly as Coral placing third, and Brian Kelley as Mad Scientist Monster placing fourth.

The Masked Singer season 13 also had eleven other reveals of beloved stars, including Cedric the Entertainer (Honey Pot), Oscar De La Hoya (Fuzzy Peas), Aubrey O’Day (Ant), Scheana Shay (Bat), Flavor Flav (Space Ranger), James Van Der Beek (Griffin), Candace Cameron Bure (Cherry Blossom), Method Man (Stud Muffin), Erika Jayne (Yorkie), Matthew Lawrence (Paparazzo), and Edwin McCain (Nessy). It’ll be hard to top The Masked Singer season 13, but, hopefully, season 14 will be even more extraordinary and worth the wait.

The Masked Singer season 14 premieres in January 2026 on FOX.

Luke Bryan’s Potential ‘American Idol’ Exit Would Completely Break the Show’s Biggest Streak

    TCDITAL_HY004

Will he, or won’t he? That’s the question surrounding whether Luke Bryan plans to return to American Idol‘s judging table for Season 24.

While The Voice may be better known for the revolving door of celebrity coaches, Idol’s judging lineup might be a bit more in limbo than fans would like. Last season, following the departure of Katy Perry, Season 4 winner Carrie Underwood joined the judges’ table next to Bryan and Lionel Richie. Now, it seems that Bryan might be contemplating a potential exit.

Idol is kind of a year-by-year. Do we do it or not? We’ll see what happens,” he recently told Taste of Country. Bryan joined the ABC iteration of the series in 2018 and, alongside Richie, has been with the series ever since. Without an outright answer, the country superstar’s answer has put many on edge. Though he certainly hasn’t disliked his time on the series, his continuing career might be the reason for an exit.

Luke Bryan Has Enjoyed His Time on ‘American Idol’

Luke Bryan in Aulani on 'American Idol' Season 23.

The highly decorated country singer has had a rebirth since joining the series. Having a massively established career in the country scene, his visibility as a judge on American Idol has granted him a new fan base. Often keeping things jovial and highly spirited, Bryan’s presence has been a breath of fresh air. And there’s no doubt he’s enjoyed his time on the series. Especially last season. “Last year was really, really incredible with Carrie and Lionel and Ryan,” Bryan told the outlet. “The main thing is just, have fun with American Idol and have fun with the kids [contestants].”

While some fans may linger on the positive, it’s the uncertainty that may be scary for some. Bryan, who is currently touring on his “Country Song Came on Tour,” has been focusing on making new music. His last album, Mind of a Country Boy, came out at the end of 2024. Bryan’s tour recently made headlines after he was struck in the head by a ball while at the North Dakota State Fair. Though this incident is likely just a blip and the space of touring, perhaps this might help him to stay within the safety of a studio. Or perhaps seriously consider another turn on Idol.

But Bryan is known for his humble remarks about his career. “It’s funny how low you set your expectations on yourself when you move to chase your dreams,” he told Jimmy Fallon in 2024. “I’m like, ‘If I have one number-one, two number-ones, I’m good. I’m out.’

Nothing else has to happen. And then, man, you rattle off the stat 30 number-ones …I’m like, ‘How did I do this? How did I pull it off?’”

Was ‘American Idol’ Season 23 Too Country?

Should Bryan leave the series, it would mean the judging panel would be down one country singer. During his interview, he felt certain that Underwood would return for Season 24. He told the outlet that the former Idol champion “really enjoyed it.” He shared, “I know she had a great time in the role.” As for whether she’ll be back for another round? “My prediction would be highly favorable,” Bryan revealed.

Though Jamal Roberts, an R&B-based singer, was crowned the winner of Season 23, American Idol had a very country-heavy aura. Between two country singers on the panel, Jelly Roll serving as the mentor and artist in residence, and many themes and song selections leaning towards country, many fans felt it was too heavy-handed. With some believing that either John Foster or Breanna Nix would be victorious, in the end, the Mississippi father and former PE teacher became only the second Black male singer to win the series.

American Idol is available to stream on Hulu.

Why Dylan Dreyer & Carson Daly Are Absent From ‘Today’ Show

Today‘s Dylan Dreyer and Carson Daly have traded in the skyscrapers of New York City for the green of the golf course.

After the hosts missed several episodes of the NBC morning show this week, it was revealed that Dreyer and Daly are currently in Nevada to compete in the 2025 American Century Celebrity Golf Championship Tournament. The pair teased the competition while calling in to the show live from Lake Tahoe during the “Pop Star” segment of Today‘s Thursday, July 10, episode.

“We’ve got 90 total golfers, 88 of them better than the both of us, probably,” Daly joked. “But it’s just about fun. What a great way to kick off summer here. This is a top 100 golf course. So many great names and athletes and celebrities here.”

Dreyer, for her part, recalled coming in 89th place at last year’s tournament. “I just want to be the role model to people out there who love a hobby but aren’t necessarily good at it,” she quipped. “You just do it.”

Dreyer stated that she will go up against the likes of Timothy Simons and Alfonso Ribeiro, while Daly will compete against stars such as Roger Clemens and Colin Jost. “I know that Miles Teller‘s on the property because my wife and kids saw him at the pool yesterday,” Daly noted.

Daly went on to share that Dreyer is signed up to sing “Love Shack” by The B-52’s at the tournament’s karaoke event that night. “I sign up for karaoke night, everyone else on that stage, they’re like professional singers,” Daly said. “Alfonso Ribeiro won it last year. Jake Owen was up there and performs. I mean, these are professional singers, and me.”

Live from NYC, Savannah Guthrie and Jenna Bush Hager asked the duo if they might spot Taylor Swift at the tournament, as her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, is set to compete. “Our condo where we’re staying is next door to the ‘Kelce Manor,’” Daly replied, joking that his kids are always on “T-Swift watch.”

In addition to missing the show for the tournament, Daly explained on Thursday’s third hour of Today that he recently wrapped up filming “three days of The Voice [Season 28] blind auditions” in Los Angeles.

The American Century Celebrity Golf Championship Tournament sees some of the biggest sports and Hollywood stars go head-to-head on the green to raise funds for local and national charities. Other celebrities set to compete include Josh Allen, Charles Barkley, Chris Harrison, Jason Kelce, Rob McElhenney, Rob Riggle, and Ray Romano.

Daly has been absent from Today all week, while Dreyer last appeared on the show on Monday, July 7. Today correspondent Kaylee Hartung has stepped in Daly’s shoes, while lifestyle and commerce contributor Jill Martin filled in for Dreyer on episodes of the third hour of Today.

Dreyer gave fans a glimpse into her American Century experience via Instagram. “Ok… we’ve made it to @acchampionship …let the games begin!! @pxg,” she captioned pics of herself in her golf gear on Wednesday, July 9.

Early on Thursday, Dreyer posted more Instagram pics of the tournament’s “impromptu @jakeowenofficial concert last night,” adding, “Love the throwbacks! @kathryntappen #accgolf.”

The 2025 American Century Celebrity Golf Championship Tournament will air live on Peacock on Friday, July 11, from 4-6 p.m. ET, as well as on NBC and Peacock on Saturday, July 12, and Sunday, July 13, from 2:30-6 p.m. ET.

The stakes are higher than ever before on The Voice.

At the end of the Monday, May 5 episode of The Voice, host Carson Daly delivered jaw-dropping news to this year’s coaches: Kelsea Ballerini, Adam Levine, Michael Bublé and John Legend.

“Coaches, lend me your ears. I come with great news,” Daly, 51, said as the coaches waited with bated breath.

“We’ve always intended to keep the best artists on this show for the longest amount of time,” the host said, before revealing the big news: “We’re going to allow each of you to bring back one more artist for the Top 8 live shows.”

He added, “The super-save is on.”

All in complete shock, Legend, 46, shared, “Have you realize the stress you unnecessarily put on us? They didn’t tell me I was going to be able to pick three all along.”

“How did you keep this secret?” said Bublé, 49, before Ballerini, 31, added: “I’m overstimulated.”

Then, Daly instructed the coaches to deliver the good news to their contestants.

“We love a good plot twist,” said the “Blindsided” singer.

“I’m really happy to tell you that you’re coming back,” the Maroon 5 frontman said to his phone, where the excited contestant was blurred out.

Then, a message appeared on the screen reading “Meet our super save artists in next week’s lives.”

On Monday night, Bublé chose Adam David and Jadyn Cree to move on to the live shows. Meanwhile, Legend chose RENZO and Bryson Battle.

Last week, Ballerini chose Iris Herrera and Alanna Lynise, while Levine chose Lucia Flores-Wiseman and Kolby Cordell.

On Tuesday, May 6, NBC will air a one-hour recap episode of Monday night’s part two of the playoffs.

The Voice season 28 is premiering this fall, beginning on September 22 on NBC.
The Voice revealed the coaches set to compete in the show’s season 28.
Fans may be curious to know why Gwen Stefani won’t be on The Voice after she was last seen on the show in season 26.

With The Voice season 28 premiering on NBC in just a few weeks, it’s easy to say we’re ready to witness a new batch of musicians vie for stardom.

The hit competition series will be back on the air beginning September 22, 2025, and viewers will get to see Reba McEntire, Niall Horan, Snoop Dogg and Michael Bublé as the coaches for season 28. Folks are especially excited to see this quartet of musicians appear on their TV screens very soon, given the fact they’re all returning coaches from seasons of the past.

But if we’re talking about coaches who have come and gone over the last few years, it’s only fair we talk about the great Gwen Stefani! The No Doubt singer has been a mentor on and off ever since she debuted on The Voice in season 7, and she was last seen as a coach back in season 26. But with things always switching up, folks are curious to know: Is Gwen Stefani returning to The Voice in 2025?

We’re so sorry to break it to you, but we have some news about Gwen The Voice fans will want to pay attention to.

is gwen stefani returning to the voice 2025
    NBC

Even though there’s no public announcement for why Gwen isn’t on The Voice for season 28, we may have uncovered clues behind the hiatus.

Over the last few months, folks have gotten to see Gwen promote new music off her 2024 album Bouquet. With that in mind, it seems like she has been taking the time to perform a few shows over the summer. As she shared on Instagram back in July, her last music appearance occurred alongside her husband Blake Shelton at the Churchill Park Music Festival in St. John’s, Canada.

St. John’s 🇨🇦 💐 i’m coming for you July 27!! ✨,” she wrote at the time. “Can’t wait to sing with you gx.”

But that’s not all Gwen has been working on throughout the last year.

Outside of her work, the singer is also focusing on being a wife to Blake and mom to her three sons Kingston, Zuma and Apollo (she shares her kids with ex-husband Gavin Rossdale). Sharing behind-the-scenes moments with her family at home, she’s been adamant about being present and enjoying life away from the spotlight. In fact, folks got to see Gwen with her family in May when she was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Even though we don’t know what else she has planned, is there ever a chance Gwen could return to The Voice? If her pattern on the show proves us right, there’s always a time and place we could see her sit in the red chair once again.

For now, though, looks like we’ll have to keep on waiting …

This is Bublé’s third season in a row as a coach. He earned back-to-back wins in his first two seasons on the show, and is looking to make it a three-peat, which hasn’t been done since Blake Shelton took home wins in Seasons 2, 3, and 4.

Finally, Snoop Dogg will be looking for his first-ever win this year after previously coaching during Season 26.

An official premiere date for Season 28 has not been confirmed yet. However, we know that the show is coming back in the fall. In the month of September, it will air on Mondays at 8 p.m. and Tuesdays at 8 p.m., for two hours both nights. The trailer for the fake TV show the Parks and Recreation cast made years ago has now been released, over a decade after the show ended. Back in 2009, Greg Daniels and Michael Schur took the audience to the fictional town of Pawnee, Indiana, in the mockumentary sitcom Parks and Recreation. Throughout seven seasons, Parks and Rec followed Leslie Knope (Amy Poehler) and her friends and colleagues from the Parks Department through many ups and downs in their careers and their personal lives. Parks and Recreation ended in 2015, but the show continues to be quite popular.

Although there are no signs of a possible Parks and Rec reboot, fans have now been treated to a very special piece of the show’s lore. During her podcast Good Hang, Poehler was joined by Schur, producer Morgan Sackett, and co-stars Adam Scott and Rashida Jones to present the trailer for Philly Justice, a fake TV show Poehler, Scott, Jones, Paul Rudd, Nick Offerman, and Kathryn Hahn made while filming Parks and Rec. The fake show had been teased on Poehler’s podcast for a while, with Poehler assuring the audience they heard them loud and clear. Now, you can see the trailer, starting at 1:08:19 in the video below.

What The Philly Justice Trailer Means For Parks & Rec’s Future

There Are No Plans For A Parks & Rec Reboot Or Sequel

Starting off as an inside joke after the cast saw a photo of themselves on the set of Parks and Rec while filming season 4, Philly Justice was a spoof on popular courtroom dramas with the aforementioned cast members in very different roles than the ones they had at Pawnee’s City Hall. Philly Justice also featured Dylan McDermott, who, Poehler once said at Paley Center in 2012 as part of the ongoing joke, replaced Rudd.

The Philly Justice trailer isn’t intended to be a pilot, nor is the show planned to become a reality.

Philly Justice is further proof of the chemistry between the cast of Parks and Rec, as well as of the fun they had on set; however, it doesn’t give much hope for the future of the show. The Philly Justice trailer isn’t intended to be a pilot, nor is the show planned to become a reality, and instead, it’s just a little bit of fun between the cast and crew of Parks and Rec that has now been shared with fans.

As mentioned above, at the time of writing, there are no plans to bring Parks and Rec back in a reboot or through a spinoff or sequel series, despite this being an ongoing trend with many popular TV shows. The closest to it so far is the 2020 special episode, appropriately titled A Parks and Recreation Special, where the audience caught up with the characters.

Our Take On Parks & Rec’s Philly Justice Trailer

Philly Justice Is Now An Official Part Of Parks & Rec’s Lore

Parks and Rec Philly Justice trailer

The existence of Philly Justice had been teased for so long that it was only natural that fans of Parks and Rec would be curious about it. It’s fun to see Poehler, Offerman, Jones, Scott, and Hahn in completely different roles in settings that fans of Parks and Rec will immediately recognize, and they bring the same fun and chaotic energy they brought to Pawnee. While this will further spark interest in a Parks and Recreation reboot and in Philly Justice being real, the main show was given a perfect ending, and the fake show is better off as a fun joke.

After months of speculation and wishful thinking, Beyond the Gates fans have a reason to get excited because the CBS soap opera has confirmed a crossover that they have been begging for.

Karla Mosley took to Instagram to share a video teasing all the drama to come from the CBS soap opera. It ends with Anita (Tamara Tunie) greeting The Young and the Restless’s Devon Winters (Daytime Emmy Winner Bryton James), and welcoming him to Fairmont Crest.

Mosley captioned the post, “Articulette’s concert, more Dani drama (obvs), and a Devon Winters sighting in Fairmont Crest?!!!!!!!! This looks like a WEEK, y’all! @beyondthegatescbs @youngandrestlesscbs @cbstv 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥”

Fans immediately took to social media to share in their excitement. One user wrote, “Omg I was hoping that Devon would make a visit since he loves music 🔥🔥🔥 I cannot wait❤️❤️ let’s go Beyond the Gates” A second added, “Welcome Devon !!! We need more crossovers ! 🙌” With a third adding, “Let’s go!!!! The crossover I’ve been waiting for!!!”

CBS officially describes Beyond the Gates as a soap opera that is “set in a leafy Maryland suburb just outside of Washington, D.C., in one the most affluent African American counties in the United States; a posh gated community with winding tree-lined streets and luxurious mansions to call home. At the center of this community are the Duprees, a powerful and prestigious multi-generational family that is the very definition of Black royalty. But behind these pristine walls and lush, manicured gardens are juicy secrets and scandals waiting to be uncovered. And those who live outside these gates are watching closely. These are the places where our characters live, love, work and play. Those who have “made it” and those who haven’t are all trying to navigate life … and some with more grace than others.

Beyond The Gates, developed and produced by CBS Studios / NAACP venture in partnership with P&G Studios, a division of Procter and Gamble, is the ground-breaking first hour long black soap opera to premiere in daytime. The creation is the brainchild of award-winning showrunner Michele Val Jean and Sheila Ducksworth, and the first new soap opera to premiere since NBC debuted Passions back in 1999.

Beyond the Gates airs weekdays on CBS at 2 p.m. ET, and streams weekdays on Paramount+. The series can be streamed from the beginning on Paramount+.

‘Beyond The Gates’ Producers Reflect On 100 Episodes, Cast Changes & “Hot” New Actor Joining CBS Soap

Beyond the Gates has hit its first milestone.

The CBS sudser hit 100 episodes Tuesday, so in celebration, creator Michele Val Jean and executive producer Sheila Ducksworth reflected on the show’s progress so far, their breakout storylines, and what fans can expect in the near future (like more from the Articulettes).

DEADLINE: 100 episodes! How does it feel?

MICHELE VAL JEAN: I feel a hundred years older. It’s hard to wrap my head around it. It’s quite a milestone.

SHEILA DUCKSWORTH: At 100 episodes, I’m feeling like we’re just beginning!

DEADLINE: You are great about engaging with fans on social media.

DUCKSWORTHSoap fans are awesome and like no other. Before we even aired our first episode, tens of thousands of people joined pages and podcasts and accounts that they themselves created. And it’s just grown from there over these past five months we’ve been on air. I love hearing all the wild predictions and also providing the extra insights and interesting backstories behind the show, whenever I’m able.

VAL JEAN: I think it’s good to have a social media presence, and I always have, but it’s challenging in my new role as a creator and head writer. It’s tempting to respond to criticism. But I really have to stop myself, especially if somebody’s being loud and wrong. It’s really hard to say no, but I think I’m getting better at it. I try to go on when I think there’s something that I need to say.

DEADLINE: Like, for example, when you made the change with the Ted Richardson character?

VAL JEAN: I did not respond to any of it because it’s a personal matter to the show and to the actor, and it’s really not my place to comment on it, so I just didn’t say anything. People were very upset, but what can I say? What can you say? Sometimes changes get made.

DEADLINE: I want to jump right into a storyline that’s been so provocative — the one involving Martin [played by Brandon Claybon] and how he was attacked on that deserted country road. An offensive slur was used by his attackers.

VAL JEAN: I decided to go down that road because I wanted to show something that happens that you’d never see on daytime. It happens. It’s like people being recast. It happens. I’m telling a story from the Black experience. A lot of it based around a Black family who is privileged and wealthy, but at the end of the day, they can still be accosted on the side of the road by racists. It’s shocking and I meant it to be very shocking, and I think production and the actors did an amazing job. It was controversial, but I don’t think controversial is wrong. It’s hard to be that right now. And so I give all credit to the network for standing behind it and believing in it. And as far as whether stories like that kind of live on in the psyche of this world that I’ve created, I wouldn’t be surprised to see some repercussions down the line. Martin still has a lot of healing to do because he’s sublimated so much of that because he had to. Nicole still has a lot to work out because she’s so angry at being left out, and she feels like she could have helped him and her role as a psychiatrist. Vernon and Anita, even though they felt like they did what they had to do at the time by covering it up, are now feeling the repercussions of that. Now another guy is dead and now they’re in debt to Joey Armstrong. So yeah, the tentacles do live on.

DUCKSWORTH: The Martin storyline is just real. And that’s what we’re looking to give our viewers.  Realness on every level.

DEADLINE: Maryland is right next to DC. Will we ever know who their president is in this world?

VAL JEAN: No. I want to stay away from politics in the show as much as I can with a Black congressman, but I want this show to be entertaining, not polarizing.

DEADLINE: I’ve noticed there hasn’t been a Febreze mention in a couple of weeks.

VAL JEAN: It’s making a comeback. And Tide will be coming back as well.

DEADLINE: Did Procter & Gamble give you any guidelines on how to integrate those products, or is that all up to you?

VAL JEAN: We get guidelines from P&G, but they’re just that. The way we write it is us, but there are certain things they want said.

DUCKSWORTH: The relationship we have with P&G is a partnership in every sense of the word. We have joint creative oversight on all our integrations, with P&G sometimes even joining us on shoot day.

(L-R) Bonita Brisker as Sharon, Tamara Tunie as Anita Dupree and Maria Howell as Tracy Quantrell Colbert/CBS

DEADLINE: Is there any chance of an Articulettes reunion later on?

    VAL JEANAugust 1 and 4.

DEADLINE: I understood the benefit of running a week of reruns during the July 4 holiday week. Do you see this becoming a norm with the soap going forward?

VAL JEAN: I’m not sure. Those decisions are made way above my head. I’m hoping that we won’t have a lot. I saw the value of that first week too, because if you didn’t watch it from the beginning, then you could get introduced to the world.

DUCKSWORTH: For those who missed out on Premiere Week, the repeats provided another opportunity to join us on day one. It gave others an opportunity to catch up on episodes. And for those superfans who know soap equals subtext, it gave our most stalwart fans an opportunity to re-watch and look for clues foreshadowing all the upcoming, juicy story.

DEADLINE: You only have Frank Carlivati working in your writers room for a short time. Why couldn’t he stick around for longer?

VAL JEAN: Ron, Bob Guza and Chris Dunn all agreed to come on to help me launch the series. Now they’re off to do other things. There’s no animosity. I’m so grateful to have had their knowledge and their humor and their contribution, and I can’t say enough about them.

DEADLINE: Are there any cast additions coming up that you’d like to tease?

VAL JEAN: Yes, we have a cast addition that I think the soap opera world will be very, very happy about. And it’s a male.

    DEADLINE: A hot male?

VAL JEAN: He’s a hot male, yeah.

DUCKSWORTH: I can’t say who just yet, but I will say longtime soap fans all know and love him! I will though give you two exciting names … Gizelle Bryant and Dr. Wendy Osefo from The Real Housewives of the Potomac. They both recently joined us for a day on set and they have some super fun scenes that we can’t wait to share.
