Adam Levine Apologizes for Maroon 5’s ‘Unprofessional’ Concert in Chile: ‘I Struggled a Lot’

Maroon 5’s performance at Viña del Mar International Song Festival was panned by fans

Adam Levine is apologizing for what he calls was “unprofessional” behavior during a recent Maroon 5 concert.

The “Moves Like Jagger” singer, 40, spoke out on his Instagram Story about his band’s performance at Chile’s Viña del Mar International Song Festival after the Thursday night show was highly criticized by fans.

In the clip, posted on Friday, Levine addressed some of the “reactions” to the show, explaining to his followers that he was not performing his best that night due to some “technical problems.”

“To be totally frank, there were some things holding me back sonically last night, and I let them get to me,” he said. “It impacted how I was behaving onstage, which is unprofessional and I apologize for that.”

Describing how he “wanted to sound good” for the audience, Levine continued, “I struggled a lot and sometimes it’s really hard for me to mask the struggle. For that, I let you guys down and I apologize.”

“Last night wasn’t our best and, for that, all I can say is that I’m really sorry,” he added.

Nicknamed “El Monstruo” (The Monster) because of the audience’s tendency to boo acts off the stage, the Viña del Mar International Song Festival is one of Latin America’s oldest and most prestigious music events. The televised festival features singing competitions, as well as musical performances from international artists.

On Thursday, Maroon 5 arrived late on stage, causing TV presenters María Luisa Godoy and Martín Cáracamo to “fill in for minutes that became eternal for those present,” local outlet CHV news reported.

When the band began their performance and the crowd sang along to “She Will Be Loved,” Levine quipped to the audience, “Well, if you want to do my job, go ahead,” CHV news reported.

Shortly after, in a behind-the-scenes video that was shot as the frontman left the stage, Levine appears frustrated at the performance and can be heard saying, “That was a TV show. That was not a concert.”

Fans quickly expressed their displeasure on social media, calling out Levine and the rest of Maroon 5 for a “lousy” concert.

“Adam sounds awful and he doesn’t have the moves like Jagger at all,” one tweeted. “We are wondering what happened to him.”

Another wrote, “lousy show in Viña del Mar guys.. haven’t seen such unprofessionalism in a good while. You should ask your fans for forgiveness… there are no excuses for doing such a poor job.”

“Love your music but your show in Viña del Mar was disrespectful to every fan who paid and waited to see you live,” a third wrote on Twitter. “Very frustrating.”

Prince fans rage John Legend’s career ‘should be over’ after his cover of Let’s Go Crazy at DNC makes their ‘ears bleed’

JOHN Legend has left some fans underwhelmed with his performance at the Democratic National Convention in which he was meant to honor the late Prince.

The singer performed Prince’s Let’s Go Crazy (1984) in a tribute to both the late singer and vice presidential nominee Tim Walz, who both hail from Minnesota.

John, 45, took the stage alongside Sheila E., who was seated behind a piano.

Sheila E., born Sheila Cecilia Escovedo, is a singer and drummer from Oakland, California.

The 66-year-old has been a member of Ringo Starr & his All-Starr Band, Azteca, and The Blackout All-Stars, and was a longtime collaborator and close friend of Prince’s.

As John Legend sang the lyrics, Sheila E. eventually got up from behind the piano to join him front and center.

They danced and belted out the lyrics together as background dancers busted out some moves behind them.

Fans flocked to social media during the performance to share their reactions, and many were unimpressed.

“John Legend trying to sing Prince,” one critical commenter wrote, adding a GIF of the late musician rolling his eyes.

“Prince in heaven seeing John Legend’s tribute to him,” another posted, adding a video of an unimpressed Logan Roy from Succession.

“Here comes John Legend’s a**,” penned another, along with a GIF of two women visibly exhausted.

“John Legend…….. Prince?!” criticized a fourth.

“John Legend??????” questioned a fifth, along with a GIF of Prince side-eyeing someone off stage.

“I don’t want to hear John Legend sing Prince songs,” complained someone else on X.

“John Legend trying to cover Prince should end his career. This is so terrible my ears hurt,” slammed a seventh commenter.

Not everyone hated John’s performance, however.

    POSITIVE PRAISE

Some fans thought the Ordinary People singer did Prince proud.

The Purple Rain singer died in April 2016.

One fan wrote in part, “I’d like to think Prince would be proud.”

“He just puts his foot in his music, raps thru his ad-libs, kills it on the piano, speaks up and acts out toward social justice and meaningful initiatives, loves his family, and stays out of the drama. An unproblematic kind,” praised a second supporter.

“John legend and Sheila E. were great. Prince would be proud,” gushed a third commenter.

“John Legend and Sheila E. killed it!! Prince would have been proud,” wrote a fourth fan.

“My mother talked through the entirety of John Legend’s performance and I am not happy,” another person posted.

    STAR-STUDDED

While fans were split on John’s performance, one thing was undeniable: The DNC packed a star-studded punch.

In addition to the All of Me singer, Mindy Kaling, Lil Jon, Jack Schlossberg, Tony Goldwyn, former President Barack Obama, Michelle Obama, Stevie Wonder, Kenan Thompson, Maren Morris, Eva Longoria, and Spike Lee are just a few of the major celebrities who appeared and/or spoke at the multi-day event.

Lil Jon, Patti LaBelle, Jason Isbell, Common, Mickey Guyton, and more performed between speakers on various days at the DNC in Chicago.

James Taylor was due to perform on Tuesday but had to scrap his performance last minute due to timing.

“It became clear, as the evening unfolded, that there wouldn’t be time for our You’ve Got a Friend with cello and voices. Maybe the organizers couldn’t anticipate the wild responses from the floor of the United Center,” he wrote in an Instagram post to fans.

    “Anyway, sorry to disappoint.”

Chrissy Teigen’s Jealousy with John Legend: The Real Story Behind the Glamorous Couple’s Candid Confessions. The star reveals her private struggles with jealousy, admitting to the emotional turmoil she faces when her husband’s career puts him in close proximity to other beautiful women

The world of social media can always rely on Chrissy Teigen to tell a good story.

Today it was a fabulous account of how she had a “jealousy-fuelled meltdown” on the set of one of her husband John Legend‘s music videos.

To mark the 10th anniversary of John’s single ‘Green Light’, Chrissy took a deep dive into the depths of her memory to recall the incident.

It apparently began with a few of their friends, mainly managers and co-writers of John’s, discussing how “BEAAAAAAUUUUTIFUL some of the women were” on set.

As Chrissy was biting her tongue and keeping her eyes on the monitor, one of the guys blurted to her “ooooooo look at that girl with john ooooooooo”.

This resulted in Chrissy watching the “monitor like a psychotic (tarantula) hawk”.

“Keep in mind John and I met on a video,” she recalled. “I was that girl! I know how this sh*t works!”

As she watched on John and the girl were having a conversation most likely, as Chrissy notes, about “craft services”.

But to her it wasn’t like that at all.

“A few more shoulder touches and laughs with her later, I lost it,” the 32-year-old said. “Anger turned to sobbing turned to fleeing the set and getting a hotel room.”

    Everyone was left “baffled”.

“I was just a jealous, angry 22 year old,” Chrissy admitted. “I’m better now.”

However, she hilariously marked her ground to her followers adding, “But don’t test me.”

John Legend & Chrissy’s Teigen’s “Biggest Battle” in Their Marriage Is Understandable

The Voice Coach and the cook book author have been married for 10 years.

In a new, revealing interview with Drew Barrymore, Chrissy Teigen opened up to the talk show host about the ups and downs of her 10-year marriage to The Voice Coach (Seasons 16-22, 24) and music superstar John Legend, and she says they face challenges every couple must overcome at some point. Namely, differing personalities, and dealing with a bunch of kids. We get that.

John Legend and Chrissy Teigen’s biggest battle is sibling rivalry

“I don’t even have advice [on relationship longevity]. I found someone really great,” Teigen admitted to Barrymore on her talk show.

However, just because she appreciates her husband doesn’t mean their four young children — Luna, Miles, Esti and Wren — are always so grateful for one another.

“I think our biggest battles are trying to get our kids to get along together,” Teigen said, though even that, she was able to spin into a positive, saying, “That part of it is so fun, seeing us grow into parents. We were kids when we got together and now we have so many kids.”

Chrissy Teigen reveals she and John Legend fight about not fighting

Their other ongoing argument, it seems, is that Legend is so naturally calm, while Teigen’s more passionate. “If we’re arguing about something — he doesn’t argue often honestly and one of our fights is that he doesn’t fight enough. You know when the passion’s there and you want him to get riled up about something and it’s just not there?” Teigen recalled.

And once again, she could see this as both an obstacle and a gift, saying, “He brings me down to a level where I’m like, ‘okay, I’m being overreactive and a little crazy.’ I’m a very anxious person. I get very nervous. I’m very tough on myself. So for someone to come in and be the calming force in all of that is very important.”

How The Voice changed John Legend’s style

Teigen had almost nothing but kind words about her husband, claiming he is, “really as good and pure as you could imagine a man to be. He really is that good. Everyone’s like, ‘is he so nice?’ Yes. He’s nice, he’s sweet, he’s kind, he’s brilliant. I hate saying all this. His levels of empathy for other people…he’s just like a sponge of kindness and goodness.”

But one area where she does have a tiny bone to pick is with his tendency to wear too many prints. And it’s all NBC’s fault!

“Ever since he started The Voice, his style became poppier and much more in your face,” she revealed. “He loves a print now. He won’t stop with the [patterned] pants.” Blame Gwen Stefani?

Have you ever wondered what a ghost PSA looks like? Well, CBS has got you covered. That’s how the network chose to present the trailer for its upcoming comedy series Ghosts, which is set to premiere in October. In the story, a couple moves into a house haunted by ghosts of previous inhabitants who judge their every attitude.

More than 25 years after the finale of “Seinfeld,” it seems the beloved sitcom might be getting a second ending.

When asked if he liked the ending of “Seinfeld” during a stand-up set on Saturday night, Jerry Seinfeld told a Boston audience that he “has a little secret” about the finale of the show.

“Something is going to happen that has to do with that ending. It hasn’t happened yet,” Seinfeld said to big cheers. “Just what you are thinking about, Larry [David] and I have also been thinking about. So, you’ll see.”

In 2018, the comedian teased on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” that a “Seinfeld” revival was “possible,” but he did not further elaborate.

In the finale of “Seinfeld,” Jerry (Seinfeld), Elaine (Julia Louis-Dreyfus), George (Jason Alexander) and Kramer (Michael Richards) are arrested and locked up in prison. More than 76 million people tuned in live, making it one of the most-watched television broadcasts in history, but the series’ final episode received quite a lot of backlash, with Seinfeld himself expressing regret over the ending in the years following.

Is 'Seinfeld' Revival in the Works? Jerry Seinfeld Teases 'Something is Going to Happen'

“Seinfeld” received a quasi-reboot in 2009, when Seinfeld and David staged a revival of the NBC sitcom within the world of “Curb Your Enthusiasm.” In Season 7 of the HBO comedy, Seinfeld, Louis-Dreyfus, Alexander and Richards star in a multi-episode arc that reunites the actors a decade after the finale of “Seinfeld” to shoot a special episode.

It’s possible that whatever Seinfeld is teasing is related to the upcoming 12th season of “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” which has been filmed but does not yet have a release date.

Seinfeld and Alexander reprised the roles of Jerry and George once again in a 2014 Super Bowl commercial that took place at the iconic Tom’s Restaurant set.

Premiering in 1989, Seinfeld became famous for being a “show about nothing.” Instead of tantalizing drama or deep mysteries that take entire seasons to unravel, Seinfeld focused on the daily lives of a group of friends in Manhattan.

Centered around Jerry Seinfeld — a character that’s just a slightly fictionalized version of Seinfeld himself — and his friends Elaine (Julia Louis-Dreyfus), George (Jason Alexander) and Kramer (Michael Richards), the series was a relatable and hilarious look at life in the city. Larry David, who co-created the hit with Seinfeld, even acted in the series, taking on various silly roles like George’s boss and a cape-wearing lawyer.

The show ran for almost a decade, concluding in 1998 after airing 180 episodes over nine seasons. Throughout its run, Seinfeld earned 68 Emmy nominations and became a cultural phenomenon, popularizing things like the Festivus holiday and creating often-quoted phrases like “yada yada.”

Since then, the cast of Seinfeld has continued to flex their comedic chops, acting in and producing hit shows like Veep and Curb Your Enthusiasm.

Here’s everything to know about the cast of Seinfeld over three decades after the show’s premiere.

Jerry Seinfeld played a version of himself in the sitcom, starring as a mildly famous stand-up comedian who performed in comedy clubs around New York City. He had a loving but very eccentric group of friends.

In real life, Seinfeld was born in New York City and was a very accomplished comedian before getting his own TV show. Early in his career, he performed alongside legends like Rodney Dangerfield and Larry David, who would eventually serve as writer, producer and occasional actor for Seinfeld.

Reflecting on the iconic series when it hit Netflix in 2021, Seinfeld said working with his cast members kept him laughing on and off set. “It just got more and more fun as we went [along] because we got to know each other,” Seinfeld said. “And you know every little funny thing that that person does.”

After the show concluded in 1998, Seinfeld worked on various projects, including his first major film, 2007’s Bee Movie, where he not only starred as the lead character but also co-wrote the script and served as producer. The movie became a hit and grossed over $293 million.

In 2012, Seinfeld started his own talk show, Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee, where he picked up his comedian friends in various cool vintage cars and drove around, talking about show business and their personal lives. The show ran for 11 seasons, ending in 2019, and featured tons of stars, from Jay Leno to Tina Fey to Kristen Wiig and even Barack Obama.

The comedian has also hinted that something is in the works regarding Seinfeld. During a stand-up set in 2023, he responded to a question from the audience asking if he liked the finale of the show. Seinfeld responded, “The ending. Of the show? Well, I have a little secret for you about the ending. But I can’t really tell it, ’cause it is a secret.”

He continued, “Here’s what I’ll tell you, okay? But you can’t tell anybody … something is going to happen with that ending — it hasn’t happened yet.”

Seinfeld has been married to his wife Jessica Seinfeld since 1999 and the two share three children: Sascha, born in 2000; Julian, born in 2003; and Shepherd, born in 2005.

Julia Louis-Dreyfus starred as Elaine Benes, Seinfeld’s friend and ex-girlfriend. The role landed the actress seven consecutive Emmy nominations — and one win — between 1992 and 1998.

Before joining Seinfeld in 1989, Louis-Dreyfus was already a massive name in comedy. The New York City-born actress grew up performing with improv troupes like The Second City, and she joined the cast of Saturday Night Live in 1982 at just 21 years old. She remained in the cast for three seasons until 1985.

Throughout much of the ’90s, the actress spent her time starring in Seinfeld. In 2023, Louis-Dreyfus told PEOPLE that she grieved the show’s finale because it had become such a big part of her life. “There was a real grief period when the show ended that was real and felt because we all loved each other so much. … I wanted to keep working. I wanted to keep doing this thing called acting. I wanted to keep pursuing it, which I’ve been able to do, which is great.”

Louis-Dreyfus has continued to have a flourishing career since her time on Seinfeld. Not only has the actress returned to SNL numerous times, but she’s also had recurring roles on shows like Curb Your EnthusiasmThe Simpsons and Arrested Development. She’s best known for her starring roles in The New Adventures of Old Christine and Veep.

Veep was a smash success and starred Louis-Dreyfus as a floundering American vice president constantly mired by hilarious setbacks and scandals. Throughout the show’s run, it was nominated for a whopping 68 Emmy awards, with Louis-Dreyfus scoring an impressive 14 nominations, ultimately winning nine times for both acting and producing.

The Seinfeld star is still acting, and in 2023 alone, she starred in numerous projects, including You Hurt My FeelingsYou People, and the A24 film Tuesday.

Louis-Dreyfus is also a mom and wife. In 1987, she married her former SNL costar Brad Hall. The couple have two sons, Henry and Charlie, who are also actors — Charlie starred in The Sex Lives of College Girls, and Henry appeared in White House Plumbers.

Jason Alexander played George Costanza, Jerry’s good friend who often got into relationships … and then was dumped soon after.

Seinfeld was the third sitcom Alexander starred in. After growing up in New Jersey, the actor appeared in two short-lived shows, E/R and Everything’s Relative, but it wasn’t until Seinfeld that the actor achieved international recognition.

In a 2022 interview on Today, hosts Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush Hager asked the actor what continues to make Seinfeld so relatable and popular. Alexander responded, “Jerry [Seinfeld] and Larry [David] had an ethic about it that said if it’s funny, it’s good … funny reigned supreme.” He continued, “What was funny then is somehow still funny now, and people are just watching it to laugh.”

Since Seinfeld’s conclusion, Alexander has held recurring roles on shows like Curb Your EnthusiasmYoung Sheldon and The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.

On top of his television roles, he’s also a prominent figure in the theater world. Alexander has starred in hit plays and musicals like Merrily We Roll Along, The Producers and Fish in the Dark. He’s also directed numerous productions, including the play The Cottage, which is currently on Broadway and stars Laura Bell Bundy and Eric McCormack.

Off-screen, Alexander has been married to actress and artist Daena Title since 1982. Title is a painter who has been hosting exhibitions of her work since 1997. The couple have two children, Noah and Gabe, though they keep their family life relatively private.

Los Angeles-born comedian Michael Richards played the iconic Cosmo Kramer — better known simply as Kramer. Kramer was Jerry’s neighbor who always found himself in Jerry’s apartment. The character was inspired by co-creator David’s real neighbor, stand-up comedian Kenny Kramer.

Before Seinfeld, Richards was already working in the comedy space. On top of being a professional stand-up comedian, he also previously starred in the sketch series Fridays along with David and later had a recurring role on St. Elsewhere.

After his time on Seinfeld, Richards performed stand-up comedy. He’s also had a few minor roles, appearing on Curb Your Enthusiasm a handful of times in 2009 and holding a recurring part in Kirstie Alley’s short-lived sitcom Kirstie.

In his personal life, Richards was married to Cathleen Lyons for 18 years. Before their divorce in 1992, they had a daughter, Sophia. In 2010, Richards married actress Beth Skipp and the couple have a son named Antonio.

Despite being only a supporting character, Wayne Knight’s Newman remains one of the most iconic from the series. Newman lived down the hall from Jerry, and the two often had conflict, which was only worsened by Newman’s constant participation in Kramer’s wild schemes.

Before joining the Seinfeld cast in 1992, Knight was already scoring supporting roles in films like Dirty Dancing and Basic Instinct. Because he was only a recurring character on Seinfeld, Knight also had time to film other popular projects while on the series. Most notable were his roles in Jurassic Park and 3rd Rock from the Sun.

After Seinfeld concluded, Knight continued starring in series and films like Hot in Cleveland and The Exes and voiced The Penguin in Harley Quinn.

Knight married makeup artist Paula Sutor in a 1996 ceremony at costar Richards’ house, but the couple divorced in 2003. Three years later, Knight married film editor Clare Knight, with whom he shares one child.

The late Jerry Stiller starred as George’s cantankerous father, Frank. Audiences can thank Frank for popularizing Seinfeld‘s version of Festivus, a holiday “for the rest of us,” as he would say.

Born in New York City in 1927, Stiller was perfect for the role of a well-seasoned New Yorker who’s seen it all. But Stiller’s career began long before Seinfeld. In 1954 he married fellow comedian and performer Anne Meara and together they performed as the comedy duo Stiller & Meara throughout the ’60s. Stiller appeared on The Mike Douglas Show and Johnny Carson’s The Tonight Show and also had roles in hit films like Airport 1975 and both Hairspray movies.

The same year Seinfeld ended, Stiller landed another role as a father in a sitcom, portraying Arthur Spooner in the hit The King of Queens. The series ran from 1998 to 2007, and Stiller appeared in 206 episodes.

Stiller is also known for being the father of actor Ben Stiller. He and Meara also shared a daughter, Amy. Stiller died of natural causes in 2020 at age 92, leaving behind a legacy of comedy.

The title came from Sheridan’s nickname “Dizzy,” and the book recounted her relationship with actor James Dean. The two met in the early 1950s while Sheridan was a dancer in New York City and Dean was building his Broadway career. “It was the first love for both of us,” Sheridan told PEOPLE in 1996. “Jimmy wasn’t a rebel, and he had no cause. I think he was just shy.”

Dean eventually moved to Los Angeles as his career took off, and the two broke up a few years before his death. In 2022, Sheridan died at age 93.

David appeared in the show at numerous points — as a passenger on an airplane, a character on TV, a passing pedestrian and more — but he’s best known for voicing George’s boss, George Steinbrenner, based on the very real Yankees owner.

Since his time on the show, the Brooklyn-born actor has become best known for his HBO comedy Curb Your Enthusiasm.
