Drew Carey is sharing his final text exchange with his ex-fiancée, sex therapist Amie Harwick, before she was murdered February 15, 2020.

Harwick, 38, died after she was allegedly strangled and thrown from the third-floor balcony of her home. Her ex-boyfriend Gareth Pursehouse was arrested and charged with one count each of murder and first-degree residential burglary with the special circumstance allegation of lying in wait. He pleaded not guilty in April 2020 and is awaiting trial.

In a new preview for the CBS special “48 Hours: The Final Hours of Amie Harwick,” Carey says he was making plans with Amie to meet up.

“I got a text from her [that read], ‘I would love to get together with you and talk,’” Carey recalled, adding, “And I said, ‘Yeah, I would love to do that. I love you.’”

He said the meet-up never happened, but added, “That’s the big solace I get from it, is that she loved me. And I’m glad I could get that message to her before she died.”

Drew Carey heard from former fiancée Amie Harwick out of the blue just two days before her untimely death - CBS News
According to Page Six, the host of “The Price Is Right” told “48 Hours” that Valentine’s Day is not “a good day to remember” anymore.

“I don’t know if I’ll ever want to celebrate Valentine’s Day with a dinner. You know? I just don’t want to do anything… Valentine’s Day sucks now,” he said.

He continued, “I think about her every single day… You want an intimate relationship where you can open up to somebody completely and be yourself. And she was that for me. She cared so much about helping people. That was her life’s purpose. She just wanted to help people.”

Back in February 2020, he opened up about Harwick on his SiriusXM show “Drew Carey’s Friday Night Freak-Out.” Page Six reports, Carey shared at the time, “She was beautiful and fun and cared deeply about people and improving their lives and was just a joy to be around. And I was so in love with her.”

“Even after we broke up, we still loved each other very much,” he shared. “Even though we broke up the engagement, I was still so in love with her. And she loved me back.”

Meanwhile, Pursehouse is still behind bars awaiting trial. According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, he has a hearing scheduled for February 22.

Amie and Gareth reportedly split years before she died, but she had taken out two restraining orders against him after their relationship ended. The most recent one expired two weeks before her death. Witnesses told The L.A. Times that the exes had a run-in at the XBiz adult industry award show in January.

The restraining orders paint an ominous picture of Pursehouse. She accused him of pushing her out of a car and leaving her on the side of a freeway; suffocating, punching, and kicking her; and even slamming her head on the ground.

If convicted as charged, Pursehouse faces the death penalty or life in prison without the possibility of parole.

In February 2020, “Extra’s” Billy Bush spoke with Harwick’s friend Moushumi Ghose, who had been in touch with her before her death. Ghose said of Harwick’s fears of Pursehouse, “She was scared of him for a really long time. He basically used to try and sabotage her work… her career, her friendships. She knew he was really dangerous.”

Jimmy Kimmel is dishing on the new season of “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire,” which will feature a star-studded lineup of guests competing to donate their winnings to charity.

“Extra’s” Paul Costabile spoke with Jimmy, who revealed his dream contestant!

Kimmel commented, “Boy, wound’t it be fun to put Donald Trump in that hot seat, see how much that genius knows?”

He quipped, “I would say, ‘Please, have a seat. I would love to — You know what? Any time you spend on a game show is another hour you’re not being president, so I’m in support of that.’”

Trump aside, Jimmy emphasized, “I admire anybody that does sit down and come on the show because they’re really risking their reputation.”

Jimmy’s long-running faux feud with Matt Damon is also spilling over to the game show, after “Jeopardy!” host Ken Jennings brought Matt along!

Kimmel joked about Damon, while referencing a “Harry Potter” character, “You don’t have to keep saying his name, it’s like Voldemort.”

Trolling Matt further, Jimmy commented, “[Ken] brought somebody with him, who was not invited on the show, was not welcome on the show, who showed up, who has been trying to get on my show for many years and honestly embarrassed himself, embarrassed his family, and should be ashamed of what he did. He’s not a nice person. He’s sneaky and I’m pretty sure he cheated.”

Kimmel also dished on recently becoming a grandpa!

When asked if he had a particular name that he wants to go by, Jimmy answered, “I’m partial to just grandpa. I’m okay with that. A lot of people get weird about like, ‘I don’t want to be seen as old or whatever.’ I’m old. I’m a grandfather and I’m going with it.”

“Who Wants to Be a Millionaire” premieres July 23 on ABC and is streaming on Hulu.

Ryan Seacrest shared an update with fans about his father after revealing that he was diagnosed with cancer. The Wheel of Fortune host celebrated a special milestone while sharing recent pictures.

“Happy birthday, Dad. Glad you’re enjoying a fried egg sandwich with mustard again this year for your bday breakfast! Here’s to many more. Love you,” he wrote on Instagram on July 27. His dad turned 81 on Sunday.

When he asked his dad what he wanted for his birthday, he replied, “I just want to get out of this chair. I just want to leave this house.’”

The first photo was of Seacrest, his dad, Gary, and his mom, Constance. The parents held up their plates of food as Ryan hopped in the frame and snapped the photo. Wine and candles sat on the table.

In the second photo, Ryan and Gary stood in front of a grill and smiled as they flipped burgers. The third photo was a throwback of the father/son duo dressed in suits. The fourth and final picture featured Gary stirring butter in a pot while wearing a bib that said “Fondue” with different food on it.

Fans wished the patriarch of the Seacrest family a “Happy birthday” in the comments. Many wished him well and said they’d be praying for him.

On July 21, Seacrest got teary-eyed when he shared his father’s diagnosis on his radio show, On Air With Ryan Seacrest. The topic came up as the American Idol host and his co-hosts celebrated their colleague Dennis Clark’s “victory story” of remission for prostate cancer.

In 2021, Seacrest revealed that Gary had been “battling cancer for several years” in a 2021 Instagram post. At the time, they thought it was non-detecable.

However, Seacrest shared that it “got worse and spread.”  “When this happens to somebody or someone really close to you that you love, this is a hard thing to see, because the treatments that are commonly recommended can be barbaric to the system. They can cause so much damage to your body in other ways,” he said.

Seacrest revealed how Gary contracted pneumonia while undergoing chemotherapy and ended up in the ICU. He explained that he was filming American Idol‘s live shows last season when his sister, Meredith, called with the devastating news.

“[I’ve] never really spoken about this,” he said on his show, noting how he somehow finished the episode and immediately flew to Atlanta to visit his dad. “I didn’t even remember what I was saying [in the episode].”

“The night that I got there, the conversation they were having with [my dad] about an emergency surgery was a life or death conversation, and I’ve never seen my strong, very smart father with the look on his face that he had — and the concern, and looking at me to help guide what decisions should be made in this moment,” Seacrest said. Gary never got the surgery and spent weeks in the ICU. Seacrest got to visit his dad and did his radio show from his Atlanta hotel room.

Ryan said that his dad could not sit up, eat, drink water, or go to the bathroom. After a few weeks in the ICU, he finally got his strength back. Gary finally returned home with round-the-clock care.

“When you see a parent suffering and when you see them going through this and you don’t understand it yourself, you’re just listening to all the different doctors and trying to make sense of what they’re trying to suggest and do. I didn’t want to miss trying to understand who these people were that were taking care of my father.”

The TV host told his mom to relax and take it easy as well, as she is a cancer survivor.

“Cancer affects every one of us in some way, and it. And it sucks. And the treatments suck … treatments are tough. But I know he’s going to get through this,” Seacrest ended.

Ghosts Season 5 Poster, Teaser, Date of the Returns Released. Expect intriguing relationships as Bela forms a connection with a different ghost (not Trevor).

With the series returning Oct. 16th, CBS’s Ghosts released not only a Season 5 poster but also the teaser screened during the SDCC panel.

    Article Summary

Ghosts Season 5 premieres October 16, with an SDCC teaser and new poster released by CBS.
Bela takes on a bigger role, working at the restaurant and starting her own events business.
Expect intriguing relationships as Bela forms a connection with a different ghost (not Trevor).
The mystery of Sasappis’ death will finally get a spotlight, teased as a major Season 5 plot.

Ghosts returns for its fifth season on October 16, and some details on the season were dropped during the SDCC panel this weekend, along with a new poster. Showrunner Joe Wiseman has let it slip that Bela (Punam Patel) will have a larger role on the series and will be working in the restaurant. That makes sense after how the fourth season ended with Jay (Utkarsh Ambudkar) selling his soul to make the restaurant successful. But that is not all; she will also be starting her own events business and forming a relationship with one of the ghosts…who is not Trevor, with whom she has had a thing previously. Another tease was that the writer’s room is working on telling the story of one of the show’s biggest mysteries, the death of Sasappis (Román Zaragoza). That is what Wiseman himself said at the panel: “one of the last big mysteries” of the series.

Ghosts Season 5 Needs To Be Here Already

Produced by CBS Studios, in association with Lionsgate Television and BBC Studios’ Los Angeles production arm, CBS’ Ghosts stars Rose McIver (Samantha), Utkarsh Ambudkar (Jay), Brandon Scott Jones (Isaac), Richie Moriarty (Pete), Danielle Pinnock (Alberta), Asher Grodman (Trevor), Román Zaragoza (Sasappis), Sheila Carrasco (Flower), Rebecca Wisocky (Hetty), and Devan Chandler Long (Thorfinn). In addition, Dean Norris (Frank), Mary Holland (Patience), Sakina Jaffrey (Champa), and Bernard White (Mahesh) joined the cast. Executive producers include Joe Port & Joe WisemanMathew Baynton, Jim Howick, Simon Farnaby, Laurence Rickard, Ben Willbond, and Martha Howe-DouglasAlison Carpenter, Debra Hayward, and Alison Owen (Monumental Television); Angie Stephenson (BBC Studios); and Trent O’Donnell (pilot episode only).

Ghosts remains one of the funniest shows around, and is one of the few sitcoms left on network television. I have nothing to say other than I look forward to it being back, hopefully on a more regular schedule this season. It felt like the episodes were spaced out too far apart for Season Four. Here’s a look at what was screened for SDCC attendees during the panel:

After the collapse of his marriage and getting fired from his job at an Indiana sporting goods store, Pryce hedges his bets, and future, entirely on 17-year-old golf phenom Santi Wheeler (Peter Dager) who he guides through a series name-making competitions.

News of the recommission came as the show’s opening season drew to a close.

Matt Cherniss, head of programming at Apple TV+, added: “With first season of ‘Stick,’ audiences instantly fell in love with the charming, funny and heartfelt world that Jason, Owen and their all-star team created this season.

Happy’s Place Season 2 may not return to NBC until later this year, but filming for the upcoming chapter of Reba McEntire‘s comedy is already underway.

As teased in a recent Instagram post, McEntire is back on set with the ensemble behind this series, including Belissa Escobedo, Melissa Peterman, Rex Linn, Pablo Castelblanco, and Tokala Black Elk. While the team is fast at work prepping episodes for Season 2, though, we can’t help but wonder which Reba favorites could turn up as guest stars.

Created by Kevin Abbott, Happy’s Place is no stranger to Reba crossover as two key stars play series regulars with McEntire and Peterman, and Season 1 boasted appearances from vets Steve Howey and Christopher Rich, but we can’t help but keep our fingers crossed for more in Season 2. Abbott previously served as an executive producer and writer on Reba, which makes him eager to welcome back familiar faces.

When we caught up with the showrunner around Season 1’s finale, Abbott said, “We definitely want to bring Joanna [Garcia Swisher] in. We’ve been talking to her. It’s a matter of timing for her.”

Whether this will be the case or not in Season 2 remains to be seen, but as we gear up for the next chapter, we can envision Howey possibly returning as well as Rich in their fun guest roles introduced in Season 1. As fans will recall, Howey, who played Van on Reba, stepped in to portray Danny, a man who wanted to host a holiday party for his coworkers at the titular bar. Meanwhile, Rich, who played Reba’s ex-husband Brock on the former series, appeared as Maverick, a tattoo artist.

As mentioned by Abbott, Joanna Garcia Swisher is in the running for a potential Season 2 guest spot, but we want to hear from you, which Reba star do you want to see as a guest on Happy’s Place in Season 2? Let us know in the reader poll and sound off in the comments section.

Well, along with Kelly bringing her musical expertise back to the TV show, she debuted a new look that fans couldn’t get enough of.

Thanks to an Instagram promo video posted on July 22 alongside fellow coaches Adam Levine and John Legend, Kelly debuted a short blonde bob to promote her upcoming season of The Voice. She paired the hairstyle with a white button-down shirt, a long black skirt and an untied bowtie, completing a sophisticated transformation that certainly felt perfect for the new gig she has coming up next year.

Kelly Clarkson is rocking a new look as she returns to The Voice for the first time since 2023 for the upcoming 29th season.

In an Instagram promo for the spring 2026 season, Clarkson is seen back in the famous red chair and sporting a wispy bob haircut. This is quite a change from her usual long, blond locks. “This time, we’ve got some tricks up our sleeves. Y’all get ready,” the singer says in the video.

Clarkson is returning to the NBC competition series alongside Adam Levine and John Legend for The Voice: Battle of Champions. She previously stepped away from the program after moving her daytime talk show, The Kelly Clarkson Show, to New York City. Clarkson will film both The Voice Season 29 and her talk show concurrently.

Battle of Champions marks the first time that all competing coaches are former winners of The Voice. The special edition will also feature some format changes, including new powers and the return of all-star contestants.

Each coach will begin the competition with 10 new artists per team, rather than the usual 14 artists. The Blind Auditions will feature a “Triple Turn Competition,” where the coaches compete to earn the most triple turn artists on their team. The coach with the most triple turns gains a “Super Steal” for the Battle Round, which can be used once and trumps any other coach’s attempt to steal.

The Knockout Round will allow each coach to bring back two fan-favorite artists from their teams in previous seasons. Original Voice coach CeeLo Green will help determine the sing-offs winner, who will join their coach as a second finalist in the finale.

The Top 9 artists will move on to the semi-finals before being whittled down to the Top 4 for the season finale. In addition, for the first time ever, a voting bloc comprised of super fans and past Voice artists will vote on their favorites in real time during the semis and finale.
