The Price is Right Re-Runs to Bridge Gap Between The Talk and Beyond The Gates

After The Talk airs its finale this December, what’s going to take its place? Don’t expect old episodes of the chatfest. Instead, CBS will air reruns of The Price is Right from 2 PM to 3 PM EST, per Deadline.

That will continue for two months. When will it end? That scheduling change will conclude once new soap Beyond The Gates premieres on Feb. 24.

JEOPARDY!’s extended summer hiatus dates have been revealed as fans are left mourning ‘what will we do without Ken Jennings?’

The trivia show is a staple in many viewers’ daily routine every single day for the majority of the year – but the end of summer marks the one time the series is off the air.

Jeopardy! fans will have to bid farewell, for now, to beloved host Ken, 51, when the season 41 finale airs on July 25.

The series will take a long six-week break which is a stark contrast from airing every other day of the year, including holiday’s but excluding weekends.

Following the hiatus, season 42 is set to premiere sometime in early September.

While there is no confirmed date for when the show will be back, it’s most likely set to return on Monday, September 8th.

Fans are already crying and asking “what will we do without Ken for that long?”

Another Jeopardy! fan then made a suggestion with the newfound free time, writing: “If anyone missed this season of Celebrity Jeopardy!, I highly encourage you to check it out.

Never mind if you’ve never heard of the celebs. I found it very entertaining, and Ken was in peak form interacting with them.”

Celebrity Jeopardy! aired over the spring on ABC primetime as a spinoff to the regular daily trivia episodes.

    DOUBLE JEOPARDY!

Jeopardy!’s upcoming season comes after the series has struggled to land the plane with season 41.

Despite a strong start to the season, with fan-favorite champions such as Isaac Hirsch, Drew Goins, Adriana Harmeyer and Drew Basile, the post-tournament episodes this year have been a let down to fans.

The end of season 41 has failed to produce many multi-day champions during a lackluster streak.

The season even broke a record for longest streak of one-day champions after contestants failed to win back-to-back games for 14 episodes.

Jeopardy! champ Jason Singer sneaks in plea to producers on final clue before finally breaking one-day winner’s ‘curse’
Ratings were highly impacted by the weak games, as The U.S. Sun previously revealed that viewership plummeted by over over 1 million.

For the week of June 16 to June 22, ratings have dropped down to 7,787,000 viewers, according to Nielsen.

This is an over one million viewer decline from the week of March 3 to March 9, as Jeopardy! had 8,902,000 viewers tune in.

The U.S. Sun previously reported 8,430,000 viewers watched Jeopardy! for the week of January 20 to 26.

    Jeopardy! 2025 Tournament of Champions

Jeopardy!’s next Tournament of Champions will take place this winter, midway through Season 41 (exact airdate TBA) and it’s shaping up to be another showstopper. Here’s who is officially eligible so far:

Adriana Harmeyer (15 wins and $349,600 total)
Isaac Hirsch (nine wins and $215,390)
Greg Jolin (five wins and $135,002)
Survivor alum Drew Basile (seven wins and $129,601)
Alison Betts (5 wins and $121,500)
Mark Fitzpatrick (five wins and $107,201)
Dr. Amy Hummel (5 wins and $100,994)
Ryan Manton (four wins and $83,179)
Grant DeYoung (four wins and $81,203)
Will Wallace (four wins and $79,998)
Amar Kakirde (four wins and $55,899)
Lisa Ann Walter (winner of Celebrity Jeopardy! 2024)

The prize for winning the ToC is $250,000 and a coveted slot in Jeopardy! Masters.

Jeopardy.com notes: “All 4-time and over winning players starting from 04/10/24 will be eligible for a future Tournament of Champions.”

“Presence on this list does NOT guarantee an invitation to compete. Other eligibility rules apply and final selection is up to the producers’ sole discretion.”

During the premiere week of September 9 to September 15, 7,113,000 viewers tuned in for the episodes.

The ratings drop comes as Jeopardy! has struggled with having exhilarating multi-day streaks.

Ken even revealed on an episode last week that this is the longest one-day champion steak in 20 years.

On the July 2 episode, contestant Jason Singer broke the 14-game long “curse” of having a new winner every single episode.

However, his success was short-lived as he lost the following game – bringing his Jeopardy! run to an end.

On Tuesday, the show’s official Instagram page posted a clip from the season showing contestant Keith playing the popular Vend-O-Price game.

Host Drew Carey guided Keith through the game as he determined which shelf carried the most expensive food items.

Keith secured a victory in the end after guessing the correct price for bags of peanuts.

He jumped for joy as Drew congratulated him on his big win.

Fans immediately raced to the comments to share their excitement about the upcoming season.

    NEW SEASON CHANGES

Ahead of the premiere, CBS released more details about what to expect from the season – which will also include the show’s 10,000th episode to air in February 2025.

There will also be specially-themed holiday episodes and a “redemption episode,” in which former contestants compete for another chance at major prizes.

Additionally, the season will commemorate James O’Halloran’s 10th anniversary on the show.

The Aussie native is known for being the second male model on the show, joining in December 2014 after winning the Male Model Search.

Last month, the Price is Right announced a 60-venue tour, including many East Coast stops, that began on August 30.

The Price Is Right Live coming to New York and more in September – but southern state fans are ‘bummed’ there’s no shows
However, some fans expressed their disappointment that there were no stops near their hometowns.

Fans also recently complained about the schedule change for next season after it was revealed that nighttime episodes would be moved from Wednesdays to Mondays.

The switch raised concerns that Monday Night Football would affect future episodes due to frequent delays and overtime.

The Price is Right again faced backlash when the show didn’t acknowledge the one-year anniversary of its former host Bob Barker’s death on its social media accounts.

    The Price is Right Hosts

The Price is Right first came on TV in 1972. Fans fell in love with the game show so much that it has been on for over 50 years. Throughout that time, the show has had a few different hosts. Find out who they are below.

Bob Barker – 1972 to June 2007 (also became executive producer in 1988)

Drew Carey – October 2007 to present

Dennis James – filled in for Bob in 1974 when he missed four episodes, also hosted the nighttime version

Craig Ferguson – 2014 April Fools Day Special

Bob died on August 26, 2023, at 99 years old.

He hosted the show for 35 years before retiring in 2008 and passing his microphone to Drew.

Fans slammed the show for the misstep, with many saying they still “couldn’t believe” the legendary host was gone.

Last month, The U.S. Sun exclusively spoke to a Price is Right mega-fan about his thoughts on Drew taking over for Bob as host.

Ted Slauson—who competed on the show and is a 37-time audience member—revealed he was shocked that the comedian got the gig, especially since he never formally auditioned.

The San Antonio native also claimed Drew would often “push back” on producers, completely changing the show’s dynamic.

When Does ‘The Price Is Right’ Return With New Episodes?

The Price Is Right aired a special July 4 episode dedicated to first responders to the California wildfires of 2025. That was the last episode for a while from the beloved game show, which is also daytime TV’s top-rated daytime series. So, when will one of audience’s favorite games return with new episodes?

It was a milestone year for the hit series as it celebrated the 10,000th episode of The Price Is Right on February 26, 2025, on CBS. It was part of The Price Is Right Season 53, which premiered on September 23, 2024, and continued through June 27, with the July 4 bonus episode tacked onto the end of the season last week.

The show is now on a summer vacation, but it will come back later this year.

When does The Price Is Right return?

The Price Is Right Season 54 will likely premiere in September 2025, with The Price Is Right at Night slated to air on Wednesdays at 9/8c starting in January 2026 (see the CBS fall 2025 schedule here).

Paramount Press Express | CBS SETS “THE PRICE IS RIGHT AT NIGHT” AND “LET'S MAKE A DEAL PRIMETIME” EPISODES

An exact premiere date will be announced at a later time, but the game show has premiered at the end of September for several years in a row now. Given that episodes air daily on CBS, expect a Monday premiere date for its return. We’d predict that Season 54 will kick off on either Monday, September 22, or Monday, September 29. It will likely air in its usual time slot of 11a/10c on weekday mornings.

Where can I watch episodes of The Price Is Right?

While you wait for the return, past episodes of The Price Is Right — including installments from Season 53 — can be streamed on Paramount+. There are always Price Is Right reruns airing somewhere on TV throughout the year, so Drew Carey and late former host Bob Barker are never too far.

Let’s looking back!!!

18 Years Ago Today Drew Carey Was Named New Host of “The Price Is Right”

Today marks the 18th anniversary of a pivotal moment in television history when, on July 23, 2007, comedian Drew Carey announced he would succeed the legendary Bob Barker as host of the iconic game show The Price Is Right. The announcement came during a lively interview on Late Show with David Letterman, sending shockwaves through the entertainment world and sparking excitement among fans of the long-running program.

During the interview, Carey, known for his quick wit and affable charm from The Drew Carey Show and Whose Line Is It Anyway?, shared the news with characteristic humor, joking about his new role while expressing gratitude for the opportunity. “It’s a huge honor to follow Bob Barker,” Carey said, acknowledging the towering legacy of his predecessor. Barker, who had hosted the show for 35 years, was a beloved figure whose warmth, charisma, and signature sign-off—“Help control the pet population, have your pets spayed or neutered!”—had become synonymous with the show. Carey’s announcement marked a new chapter for The Price Is Right, with fans eager to see how he would put his own stamp on the beloved program.

Drew Carey didn't want to ruin 'The Price is Right' after Bob Barker left show | Fox News

The Price Is Right is one of the longest-running game shows in television history, captivating audiences with its simple yet engaging premise: contestants guess the prices of everyday items to win cash and prizes. The show first premiered on November 26, 1956, hosted by Bill Cullen on NBC. This original version ran until 1965, airing on both NBC and ABC. While successful, it was the revived version, which debuted on CBS on September 4, 1972, with Bob Barker as host, that became a cultural phenomenon.

Under Barker’s stewardship, The Price Is Right grew into a daytime television staple, known for its colorful set, enthusiastic audience, and iconic games like Plinko, Showcase Showdown, and Cliffhangers. The show’s format—where contestants are called from the audience to “come on down” and compete in pricing games—resonated with viewers for its accessibility and excitement. Barker’s charm and professionalism made him a household name, and his advocacy for animal rights further endeared him to fans.

By 2007, Barker, then 83, announced his retirement, citing a desire to step back after an illustrious career. His departure prompted CBS to search for a successor who could carry the show’s legacy while appealing to a new generation. Drew Carey, with his comedic background and everyman appeal, emerged as the perfect choice.

When Carey took the helm in October 2007, he brought his own energy to The Price Is Right, blending humor with a genuine appreciation for the show’s traditions. While initially facing the challenge of filling Barker’s shoes, Carey won over audiences with his warmth and enthusiasm. Over the years, he introduced subtle updates to the show, including new games and a modernized set, while preserving its core appeal.

Drew Carey 'Mainly Didn't Want To Get The Show Canceled' When He Signed On For The Price Is Right, But How Long Does He Expect To Host?

Today, 18 years after his announcement, Carey remains the face of The Price Is Right, having hosted thousands of episodes and welcomed countless contestants to the iconic stage. The show continues to thrive, a testament to its enduring formula and Carey’s ability to connect with audiences.

Reflecting on that historic announcement, fans and industry insiders alike celebrate Carey’s contribution to a show that has brought joy to millions for over half a century. As The Price Is Right continues to invite contestants to “come on down,” its legacy—and Carey’s role in it—remains as vibrant as ever.

ABC Almost Canceled Its Top-Rated Show Shifting Gears For Such An Absurd Reason

I Can’t Believe ABC Almost Canceled Its Top-Rated Show For Such An Absurd Reason

Matt and Riley sitting at a parent teacher conference in Shifting Gears

Shifting Gears was one of ABC’s biggest shows of the 2024-25 television cycle, but one ridiculous reason almost led to an early cancelation. The star-studded cast of Shifting Gears helped sell the freshman comedy through Tim Allen’s image and renowned sitcom past, but other beloved actors like Kat Dennings and Seann William Scott helped Shifting Gears appeal to broader demographics.

Despite its obvious momentum, early reviews of Shifting Gears weren’t optimistic about the family comedy’s long-term success. Between a disproportionately heavy focus on Tim Allen and awkward comedic timing, Shifting Gears didn’t seem like a viable sitcom for ABC. Fortunately, Shifting Gears slowly found its footing throughout its pilot season, improving on the most common critiques and prioritizing its ensemble.

Shifting Gears Is One Of The Highest-Rated Shows During the 2024-2025 TV Cycle

The Freshman Comedy Drew In Massive Numbers

Even before its series premiere, it was clear that Shifting Gears would have impressive viewership. Yet, the pilot episode of Shifting Gears broke records and became ABC’s highest-streamed debut in history. Buzz surrounding the achievement only made the comedy more popular, with many recognizing it as a familiar variant of Tim Allen sitcoms like Home Improvement and Last Man Standing.

Matt looking at Riley in Shifting Gears season 1, episode 9

Between its obvious self-improvement and its rarely-filled niche at ABC, it’s no surprise that Shifting Gears was one of the highest-rated shows of the 2024-25 season. Aside from riding the wave of being a new series and capitalizing on its novelty, Shifting Gears provided a return-to-form that many sitcom lovers appreciated. Of course, the new comedy wasn’t without its faults.

All episodes of Shifting Gears are streaming on Hulu.

Tim Allen’s brand of humor is no longer ubiquitous among key demographics, making the lead character feel less like a protagonist and more like a grouchy old man archetype. Similarly, the dialogue felt dated, with Shifting Gears’ appeals to Gen Z humor falling flat more often than not. Regardless of its shortcomings, Shifting Gears deserved at least one more season.

ABC Almost Canceled Shifting Gears Because Of A Goofy Reason

    Everything Is Relative

Surprisingly, Shifting Gears was at risk of cancelation during renewal season. With limited spots on ABC’s roster, only Shifting Gears and Doctor Odyssey were left on the bubble— ironically, both new titles reportedly had the same issue: ratings. Despite statistics implying it’s the most popular new comedy of the year, Shifting Gears’ ratings declined over the course of the season.

While that would be an understandable critique for most shows, putting the numbers in context proves that, even at its worst, Shifting Gears outperformed most competitors in the coveted 18-49 demographic. Simply looking at blanket total viewership, Shifting Gears remains in the top ten, which makes it all the more baffling that the Tim Allen sitcom was ever in danger.

Family Feud: Fans Tune In For The Unexpected On Popular Game Show

With as many decades as Family Feud has been on the air, the show continues to feel fresh, even all these years later. While a lot of this has to do with Steve Harvey and what he brings to the program as the enigmatic host, a lot of it also has to do with the surveys and how unpredictable they are.

As Family Feud fans regularly see on the show, answers that seem like a no-brainer sometimes don’t end up on the survey board at all. On the other side of that coin, wild answers that even Steve Harvey feels have no chance of being up there, end up there. So, the unpredictable nature of the show is absolutely something that keeps watchers tuning in.

However, when it comes to the celeb edition of the game, Steve isn’t always the most famous person on the set, especially depending on who they have showing up to the tapings. Based on teasers for the upcoming episodes, some of the celebs who make their way onto the game show stage include:

Steve Harvey Threatens To Slap Contestants On Game Show

Steve Harvey struggles to keep his composure on Family Feud on a regular basis. A recent clip from the game show was a bit different though.

Before he could even read the question, Steve started laughing. Chuckling, he warned, “Oh yeah … you miss this, I’m slapping you. Okay? I’mma haul off, I’mma slap you.”

Then, after composing himself a minute, he asked, “Name something that follows the word strip.”

Eddie slammed down the buzzer and had the chance to answer. Unfortunately, his time expired before he gave Steve an answer, giving the chance to the other team.

Walking toward Eddie, Steve raised his hand like he was going to slap him. He was also mouthing obscenities as he approached. The Family Feud studio audience went wild watching Steve’s bit.

Leaning into the joke, Steve asked, “Really?! Really?! For real?! Cause you don’t want nobody to know?”

Turning his attention to Eddie’s opponent Antonio, Steve asked the question again. To which Antonio responded, “Rip.” In disbelief, the game show host had to ask him what he said again. “Strip Rip,” he replied.

As the big X came up on the board, Steve Harvey pretended to try to tear off Antonio’s name tag.

Family Feud Fans React To Hysterical Exchange

Finally, someone came up with a good answer though. Eddie’s teammate Thomas said, “Club” in response to Steve’s question.

Walking away from the podium, Steve approached Thomas to shake his hand. Of course, his answer was the number one answer on the board, earning his team 31 points.

Sticking to his joke, the Family Feud host pretended to backhand the two contestants who couldn’t answer correctly. The entire exchange was shared on social media and the caption read, “Name something that follows the word ‘strip.’ Miss this one? #SteveHarvey: ‘I’m slapping you.’”

Fans were laughing in the comments. “The first two dudes didn’t wanna snitch on themselves,” one person wrote. “They should both be ashamed,” another laughed. A third commented, “Steve killed me when he was gonna smack Eddie lol.”

A fourth person cackled, “Rumor has it that they both got a lap dance at the Strip Rip every Friday night.”

Ryan Seacrest’s New Primetime Show Confirmed – BIG HINT for his Wheel of Fortune departure

Ryan Seacrest’s New Primetime Show Confirmed – BIG HINT for his Wheel of Fortune departure.

It’s official: perennial “American Idol” host Ryan Seacrest has just added another TV show to his list of hosting duties. On July 17, 2025, ABC confirmed that he will take over hosting duties for “Celebrity Wheel of Fortune” beginning in the fall.

    Ryan Seacrest

In 2024, Pat Sajak retired from “Wheel of Fortune” and, after hosting the show for more than 40 seasons, handed the baton to Seacrest. However, Sajak stayed on to host new seasons of primetime “Celebrity Wheel of Fortune” in the fall of 2024 and spring of 2025. But, as had been widely expected, Seacrest will now take over that show, too.

According to an ABC press release, Seacrest’s inaugural season of “Celebrity Wheel of Fortune,” which will continue to feature co-host Vanna White, premieres on Friday, September 26.

Fans Request ‘American Idol’ Edition of ‘Celebrity Wheel of Fortune’

When the social media team behind “Celebrity Wheel of Fortune” shared the good news about Seacrest joining the show, fans were pumped — including one who wrote, “Oh finally with Ryan!!!! Can’t wait 😍”

Many fans weighed in with predictions and requests for Seacrest bringing his buddies from “American Idol” over to the set for an episode of the game show.

“I’m already gonna call it,” one fan wrote, “there will definitely be an ‘American Idol’-themed episode of ‘Celebrity Wheel’ (with Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie at least) now that Seacrest is in.”

“Agreed,” another fan replied. “A Celebrity Wheel episode featuring Idol judges Luke, Carrie, and Lionel as contestants”

Someone else chimed in, “Now that @ryanseacrest is hosting Celebrity Wheel Of Fortune, I hope there’s an episode featuring Idol judges @lukebryan @carrieunderwood and @lionelrichie as contestants playing for charity.”

Luke Bryan, Lionel Richie, and Carrie Underwood haven’t been officially confirmed as the season 24 judging panel for “American Idol,” and it’s unclear if Jelly Roll will return as artist-in-residence, although he has said he’d like for the role to be a lifetime appointment.

Ryan Seacrest Will Tape New ‘Wheel of Fortune’ Episodes in August

ABC has not revealed whether Seacrest’s first episodes of “Celebrity Wheel of Fortune” have been taped, but he and White will be on set in August to film new episodes for the new season, which is also set to premiere in early September.

Seacrest and White’s first season together wrapped on June 6, and reruns are airing throughout the summer. They are scheduled to start taping episodes for season 43 on August 20, according to ticketing agent On Camera Audiences.

Tickets are available for two “Wheel of Fortune” tapings a day, at 10 a.m. and 1:45 p.m., on August 20, 21, 22, 27, and 28 as well as on September 4 and 5. In March, White revealed on “Elvis Duran and the Morning Show” that they typically film 34 days a year, taping multiple episodes per day.
