‘The Price Is Right’: Did Drew Carey Just Snub Ryan Seacrest?

    Instagram

Did Drew Carey just snub his fellow game show host, Ryan Seacrest? The Price is Right host decided to name a couple of famous Ryans during a recent episode of his show, but fans are wondering why he didn’t mention Seacrest.

It all unfolded on the Wednesday, March 12, edition of TPIR when Drew interrupted a contestant’s game to give a shout out to a group of Ryans sitting in the audience.

Price is Right' host Drew Carey revealed his advice for Ryan Seacrest before 'Wheel of Fortune' stint - Market Realist

“A shoutout to all of the Ryans,” Carey said. A bunch of men stood up and cheered as he told the audience at home that there were 20,000 people in their group. “Anybody can join if your name is Ryan,” added Drew. In fact, one of the Ryans made it up to Bidder’s Row, but never got to come on down to play a game.

“They especially want Ryan Stiles and Ryan Gosling to join the group. So, there I did my bit.” Carey had a cheeky smile on his face as he shouted out the famous Ryans. But noticeably missing was perhaps the most obvious Ryan …Seacrest.

Drew worked with Stiles on The Drew Carey Show (1995 to 2004) and Who’s Line Is It Anyway? (1998 to 2006) when he hosted. So perhaps it’s understandable why he got a mention.

Fans in the comments suggested other famous Ryans to join, and couldn’t help but notice that Drew omitted the Wheel of Fortune host.  “Not Ryan Seacrest lol?” a TikTok user asked. One of the Ryans in the group told the fan that they met him at Wheel of Fortune the day before and gave him a Ryan Meetup shirt. Seacrest started hosting Wheel in 2025 after Pat Sajak retired from the game show.

Other fans on Instagram suggested other Ryans that should join the group.

“They should add Ryan Reynolds to the group,” said one fan.

    “Ryan Reynolds too,” commented another.

“Let’s go!!!! Ryans of the world, unite and take over,” said a Ryan who is a TPIR fan. For any Ryan who is interested in joining, they can join the non-profit group at their website.

    The Price Is Right/YouTube

The Price Is Right contestant asked host Drew Carey if he wanted to come with her on the trip she just won on the game show. This all happened as she grabbed him around the neck and practically dragged him down to the floor.

Toya won the fifth item up for bid. She bid $1,101 on Saint Laurent tennis gear which included two racquets, three balls, and a ball machine. The actual retail price was $1,875. Since she was the highest by one dollar, Toya won the bid and got to play Bonus Game.

The way Bonus Game works is a contestant plays for five prizes. Four of them are small prizes and the fifth is a big prize. In Toya’s case, her big prize was a trip to Seychelles, Africa. The Price Is Right contestant is shown each of the four small prizes one at a time with the wrong price. They must determine whether the real price is higher or lower than the price shown. If they are correct, they win that prize and the window on the board next to them is slid over. Out of the correct prices, one of the windows has to say “Bonus” under it in order for them to win the bonus prize.

Toya’s prizes were a jump starter, a purifying straw, a charcuterie board, and a panini maker. She was right on all of them, so she automatically won the trip.

When she won, Toya threw up her hands and cheered. Carey stuck out his hand for her to shake, but she walked up to him and wrapped her arms around his neck instead. She practically pulled him down to the ground and they almost tripped. The host looked shocked, but he put an arm around her anyway.

“Do you want to go with me?!” she asked before pulling away from the hug.

    “Congratulations!” Drew Carey chuckled.

Toya continued to celebrate and Carey eventually got a handshake out of her. She spun a 120 on the Showcase Showdown wheel, so she did not advance to the Showcase.

The Price Is Right might have just had a first in the history of the game show. A male contestant stripped down after winning prizes totaling $8,390. He stunned model Alexis Gaube with his wild antics and prompted host Drew Carey to give him a fist bump.

The game show started off with a bang on Monday, June 2. Contestant Jason won the first item up for bid — a trip to San Diego, worth $3,157 — after bidding $3,100. He high-fived contestants and flexed his muscles as he came to the stage.

Drew Carey told him he would be playing Do The Math for a home gym and a billiards table. All Jason had to was guess if the price of the home gym plus $1,496 was equal to the pool table or if the gym minus the money was the cost.

Jason guessed plus. The home gym was $2,699, making the billiards table $4,195. He was correct and won both prizes and the money.

As soon as he ran over to the prizes, Jason stripped his shirt off and got on the workout machine. Gaube’s mouth dropped open as she clapped. She hid her face in her hands, trying not to laugh.

“Look at that!” Drew Carey said. “Come on, man. That’s amazing!” He gave Jason a fist bump as the contestant started working out.

Jason only spun a 65 on the wheel, so he did not advance to the Showcase.

The Price Is Right fans were just as shocked as Carey and Gaube. Jason’s win was shared on YouTube and Reddit.

“At first I thought Drew was gonna tell the guy to put his shirt back in,” a YouTube user wrote.

“DID HE JUST TAKE HIS SHIRT OFF?” asked another.

“He did! What in the world,” a fan replied.

“Soooo…for everyone & anyone who saw the show today (June 02, 2025), that thing that happened at the end of the first game is the first time that’s ever happened, right? Right??” a Reddit user posted.

“Haha was awesome. Drew trying to fist bump him in the middle of a set was crazy. But awesome nonetheless,” replied one fan.

“Lmao it was so funny, he was like ‘no days off!!!’” one last fan said.

    Wheel of Fortune

Ryan Seacrest‘s first season as host of Wheel of Fortune was a notable win, as he stepped into the role following the legendary Pat Sajak‘s departure in Season 42. Now, fans are eager to solve the next puzzle: When will Seacrest and Vanna White return for Season 43?

The end of the season (the last episode aired June 6, 2025) marked Seacrest’s inaugural outing as the host of the celebrated gameshow, replacing Pat Sajak who wrapped up hosting duties at the Wheel after 43 years, beginning in 1981.

Season 43 will mark Vanna White’s 44th year with Wheel of Fortune. The beloved letter-turner joined the show in 1982 and spent 42 years co-hosting alongside Sajak.

In a celebratory post on Instagram, the official Wheel of Fortune account boasted the wins and highlights of the season with a post that read: “Season 42 wrapped! Over 1,600 puzzles solved (and three hilarious missolves). Over $11,000,000 given away in cash and prizes! Five $100k winners! Over 200 trips won this season! 4 million Wheel Watchers club members! 6 on set mishaps*…all involving Ryan. (Yes, Ryan is okay!) Vanna walked over 37 miles at the puzzleboard!”

Ryan Seacrest Admits Feeling ‘Tremendous’ Pressure Taking Over ‘Wheel of Fortune’

As the 42nd season of “Wheel of Fortune” comes to a close on June 6, 2025, it will mark the end of Ryan Seacrest’s first season as host of the beloved game show. The longtime “American Idol” host took over for Pat Sajak in September, but the transition was far from easy.

In an interview with Los Angeles station ABC7 on June 3, Seacrest admitted that he felt a “tremendous amount of pressure” taking over the iconic show and still doesn’t feel fully comfortable after taping 195 episodes.

“Wheel of Fortune” legend Vanna White told ABC7 that the transition from co-starring with Sajak to Seacrest has been “seamless” and that he “makes it look easy.”

But Seacrest said uneasily, “Most of the time. I still have to remember what I’m doing out there.”

“Let me be honest,” he told the outlet. “There was a tremendous amount of pressure that I felt coming into this. It’s been built with Pat and Vanna for so many years, I just wanted people to feel comfortable and watch, and if we got a few more along the way, then bonus round, right? I’m thrilled that the loyal audience has accepted what we get to do together.”

Seacrest’s debut on the show was a slam dunk, according to Variety, which reported that it was “most-watched entertainment series in September across broadcast, cable and syndication.” By January, the Los Angeles Times had called Seacrest “ratings gold” on the game show. In March, “WOF” moved to second place behind “Jeopardy,” according to the U.S. Sun, but was still bringing in even more viewers than it did in September.

Among Seacrest’s fans is White, who told ABC7, “This whole season, I have been smiling from day one. He’s so easy to work with. He’s fun. He’s easygoing and he makes my job easy. You come to work and you make people happy. What could be better?”

Seacrest also acknowledged that he’s relieved he and White are comfortable enough with each other that they can ad-lib during the show, telling the outlet, “”We don’t often know what we’re going to say at the end of the show. It’s 3-2-1 go! For me, that makes it fun and I think we get genuine laughter out of each other. We got to this stage, where at times we can read each other’s minds.”

In April, White told TV Insider that she felt Seacrest came into the show with the best attitude, knowing he could never truly replace Sajak.

“Ryan did his homework,” White she said. “He rehearsed and rehearsed and rehearsed. He also said to me, ‘I am not replacing Pat Sajak because no one could – ever. I am just stepping in.’ That made me feel good because, as Ryan said, he’s just stepping in – he’s not trying to prove anything.”

Seacrest and White will both return for season 43 of “Wheel of Fortune,” likely to start filming this summer. And although his return is not official, Seacrest is expected to host his 24th season of “American Idol” in early 2026.

Pat Sajak is moving on from America’s game to bring you again America’s guilty pleasure: A murder mystery.

One year after he left Wheel of Fortune, the TV hosting legend is set to star in a revival of the 1962 play Prescription: Murder, which helped inspire the famed detective TV series Columbo, at a Hawaii community theater between July 31 and Aug. 10.

The 78-year-old will play “brilliant psychiatrist Dr. Roy Flemming, who’s carried out an ingenious plan to murder his wife, and established a perfect alibi,” while his longtime friend Joe Moore portrays investigator Lt. Columbo, according to a synopsis shared by the Hawaii Theatre in Honolulu.

While best known for his game show duties, Sajak is no stranger to acting. In addition to mostly making cameos on shows such as The A-Team and The King of Queens, he has appeared with Joe in several plays over the years at the Hawaii Theatre.

Prescription: Murder marks Sajak’s first major project since he left Wheel of Fortune in July 2024 after hosting the hit syndicated game show for 41 years.

“I’m realistic enough to know the people aren’t gonna be banging my door down,” he said in an interview with Hawaii news station KHON in 2023, recorded just before he starred with Moore in a revival of the 1972 play The Sunshine Boys, “but I’ll take projects if they come.”

Sajak joked about his post-Wheel of Fortune life, “I suspect most of my time will be whittling on the front porch. But don’t know how to whittle and I don’t have a front porch. So that’ll be a challenge.”

Happy s Place Casts Elizabeth Alderfer to Play Reba McEntire s Daughter on NBC Sitcom 816

Happy’s Place will introduce Reba McEntire‘s onscreen daughter in an upcoming episode of the new NBC sitcom.

Elizabeth Alderfer has been cast as Gracie, the daughter of McEntire’s character Bobbie on Happy’s Place. According to TV Line, Alderfer, 38, will make her first appearance halfway through season 1 and is described as a “no-nonsense, and somewhat tough” character.

“Gracie is in the military and has been deployed overseas,” the official character description read. “She has just gone on leave and is returning home to Knoxville to surprise her mother, only to be surprised herself to discover that she now has an aunt that she never knew she had.”

Happy’s Place, which premieres on Friday, October 18, follows Bobbie (McEntire) as she inherits her father’s restaurant and discovers a new business partner in the long-lost half-sister (Belissa Escobedo) she didn’t know she had. Melissa Peterman plays a bartender at the restaurant while McEntire’s boyfriend, Rex Linn, also appears as tavern cook Emmett.

The sitcom reunites McEntire, 69, and Peterman, 53, more than 17 years after their hit series Reba ended its run on The WB. In addition to McEntire and Peterman, the beloved show also starred Christopher Rich, JoAnna Garcia Swisher and Steve Howey, who has already been cast in a role in the Christmas episode of Happy’s Place.

“It’s a lot of fun. We absolutely want to bring some of the old cast members on — and in very different roles than what they played on Reba,” Kevin Abbott, an executive producer on Reba when it aired on The WB between 2001 and 2007, told TVLine earlier this month. “Steve’s our first one up, and we’re trying to figure out how to bring JoAnna in. We only want to have the old cast in if we can really utilize them in a fun, impactful way.”

In a recent cover story, McEntire recently spoke exclusively to Us Weekly about getting to work with Peterman again. (The duo previously reunited on CMT’s Working Class, Freeform’s Baby Daddy and Lifetime’s The Hammer.)

“[Reuniting with Melissa] was like riding a bike — there was a muscle memory. But we haven’t been apart ever since 2006 when Reba ended,” she shared in an October cover story. “There have been lots of times where she was out on tour with me opening the show for me — coming out and doing a bit in the middle of my concert. Fans love it.”

McEntire touched on the enduring impact Reba still has on viewers, to which she replied, “People related to it because there are many in that situation across the United States — teen pregnancy, moving in with mom, challenging things happening. But primarily, it’s the heart of it. It was funny, clever, mischievous, dorky, but it had a lot of heart.”

LAST MAN STANDING Star Breaks Down ‘Inside Joke’ on Tim Allen’s New Sitcom

LAST MAN STANDING Star Breaks Down ‘Inside Joke’ on Tim Allen’s New Sitcom

LAST MAN STANDING’s Nancy Travis is revealing a subtle “inside joke” placed in a recent episode of SHIFTING GEARS she guest starred in.

“There’s a wink in the episode where you know that there’s a past,” Travis told Us Weekly about how the show acknowledged her past with Tim Allen. “People that are fans and loyal followers of Tim’s shows will really love that inside joke.”

The Tim Allen-led comedy tells the story of Matt, a car restorer who’s trying to adjust to life with his estranged daughter and her kids. Travis played Charlotte in the Feb. 12 episode 6: “Valentine’s.” In the episode, Charlotte tells Matt he reminds her of his “last man,” a nod to their show LAST MAN STANDING.

“You wonder how Nancy Travis is going to come back into this SHIFTING GEARS world and I think it’s a unique and clever way that they’ve engineered this,” Travis said. “I will say — even on LAST MAN STANDING — it’s almost like a trademark of Tim’s shows where there are winks. Because the people that have followed his career from HOME IMPROVEMENT, his stand-up comedy, LAST MAN STANDING and now SHIFTING GEARS, they know the details of these stories and these characters so deeply.”

“They’re looking for a little inside joke or nod,” she said. “There were many of them on LAST MAN STANDING so I knew there would be something. I just didn’t know where it would come or how it would come. Viewers will be looking for it too so it is a nice little bow they put on our scenes together.”

Allen is known for his roles as Tim Taylor in HOME IMPROVEMENT and Mike Baxter in LAST MAN STANDING, where he played Travis’ husband for almost 10 years.

“Tim is nothing if not loyal,” she said. “So it was great to walk on that set and see most of the crew was from LAST MAN STANDING. The director John Pasquin did so many episodes of LAST MAN STANDING and is a personal friend.”

“It was just so great to feel this sense of reunion,” Travis continued. “I wouldn’t be surprised if everybody from LAST MAN STANDING shows up on SHIFTING GEARS in one way or another. If Tim has his way, he’ll make sure that everybody from [costar Kat Dennings’] 2 BROKE GIRLS comes on too.”

Last Man Standing' Revival Teaser Jokes About Network Switch | Us Weekly

Though Travis was excited to star alongside Allen again, she was also glad that she wasn’t in the same old role as his wife.

“It was really fun to be able to just come in and have a whole wealth of knowledge and rapport working with Tim. In terms of comedic rhythm, knowing how to set up a joke and how to tell a story together, it was great to be able to take that and apply it to Charlotte.”

“I do enjoy working with him but I think that it’s fun to explore new and different relationships between characters. It is very meta — maybe too meta,” she told Us. “I really like what they created, which is a soulmate friend.”

“Maybe it’s like the ghost of his ex-wife — Vanessa — who comes in the spirit of somebody else,” she said. “But I like the nuances of what they created with this different relationship.”

The actress explored where she thinks her and Allen’s characters from LAST MAN STANDING would be now.

“When we would film a scene on LAST MAN STANDING, one would be as written and then we would joke around about what would be the most extreme version of this scene. We would call that version when the door slams shut,” she shared. “If this show was on network TV, it would probably be Vanessa and Mike in rocking chairs bickering. But who knows what it would be when the door slams shut if they were on cable?”

Travis’s episode doesn’t leave any hope for romance between her character and Allen’s, but Matt has another love interest making her way onto the show on Feb. 26. Jenna Elfman is set to play Eve Drake, owner of the dance studio across from Matt’s car shop.

The next guest star to appear on the show is Jay Leno, who, like Allen, is a classic car fan with an extensive personal collection. In the show, Leno plays a character bringing his car in for a repair. He previously played a mechanic in LAST MAN STANDING.

Reba, who turned 70 in March, has built an iconic career spanning decades. Despite her success, she remains passionate about her work and shows no signs of slowing down. However, this drive for professional accomplishments appears to be creating tension in her personal life. Insiders claim that Rex, 68, has proposed multiple times, but she keeps delaying a clear answer.

Recently, when asked about the possibility of marriage, McEntire responded that she was content with their current situation. Rex, described by sources as a hopeless romantic, has envisioned a future where they step away from the spotlight, tie the knot, and enjoy life together. However, yubi, Reba reportedly believes they are at a stage where marriage is unnecessary.

“She adores Rex, but she sees marriage as something people do when they’re younger. At this point, she feels they’re happy as they are,” a source close to the couple revealed.

    Past Heartbreak Fuels Her Reluctance

Reba’s hesitation to remarry is deeply rooted in her past. Her 26-year marriage to her former manager, Narvel Blackstock, ended in 2015, with the singer later admitting their relationship had become more about business than love. That experience left a lasting impact on her perspective about commitment.

Now, as she continues to thrive in her career, sources say she is racing against time to achieve as much as possible before slowing down. The insider noted that while Rex understands her ambition, he still hopes she will reconsider.

“She finally found her dream guy—someone in show business who isn’t consumed by it. But she sees time catching up and wants to make the most of her career before stepping back,” the source added.
