Ryan Seacrest labeled ‘bland’ and ‘unwatchable’ as new host joins Vanna White for Wheel of Fortune workout

WHEEL of Fortune fans have slammed Ryan Seacrest after seeing him with Vanna White in a promo for the upcoming season.

Ryan, 49, and Vanna, 67, may not be working out as co-hosts, but the pair did get physical in a fitness-themed teaser for what’s to come this fall.

The trailer, posted to Instagram, showed the American Idol host standing alongside Vanna on the Wheel of Fortune set.

“I can’t wait to get to work,” he exclaimed.

Vanna, holding a megaphone, shouted, “Let’s get you ready for fall.”

The camera then panned to the pair leaning over the wheel where a pile of bricks was sitting.

“You weren’t kidding, this is great for the biceps,” Ryan shared with his co-star after giving the wheel a spin.

She smiled, lifting two brick in bicep curls as he turned to the camera making a funny face.

“Ryan’s building his Wheel-spinning muscles – one brick at a time,” the caption read.

Despite the video’s light and funny nature, fans couldn’t overcome their dissatisfaction with Ryan as Pat Sajak’s successor.

Pat, 77, appeared in his final episode of Wheel of Fortune on June 7.

“What a poor choice!” one person critiqued.

“I can’t believe I can never watch wheel of fortune again….,” a second complained.

“Seacrest is so bland,” a third person mocked.

“I won’t be watching,” someone else shared.

    Wheel of Fortune Host Timeline

Although Pat and Vanna have been a staple on the game show for decades, there have been other hosts

Chuck Woolery was the host from 1975 to 1981

He co-hosted alongside Susan Stafford (1975 to 1982)

Vanna White then stepped in as hostess in 1982 and has been ever since

After a contract and salary dispute, the show got rid of Chuck and brought in Pat in 1982

Pat hosted with Susan for one season

He then left the game show in 1989 to host a late-night talk show for CBS

For five months, NFL player Rolf Benirschke took his place

In July 1989, Bob Goen hosted the show on CBS

He hosted for a year and a half until the show was canceled in 1991

The show was then moved to ABC with Pat and Vanna hosting for the foreseeable future

In 2023, Pat announced his retirement and Ryan Seacrest as quickly named as his replacement

“I can’t wait until I don’t watch you,” another unhappy Wheel of Fortune fan posted.

Not everyone was so negative about Ryan’s hosting gig.

“Soooooo can’t wait!” one supporter gushed.

    “Let’s go Ryan!” another wrote.

“Pat Sajak left some huge shoes to fill, I wish Ryan Seacrest the best of luck in this new role! Y’all gotta remember, everyone is new at something at some point,” another wrote.

    FEUD RUMORS

Ahead of the trailer’s release, several outlets reported that Vanna was considering leaving Wheel of Fortune amid chemistry woes with Ryan.

The pair have been filming episodes of the game show this summer to air in the fall.

On Tuesday, reports surfaced claiming that Vanna was considering retiring from the show, which she’s co-hosted since 1982.

According to the reports, producers were eyeing Kim Kardashian as a replacement.

An insider told Life & Style, “They’ve compiled a list of folks to replace Vanna, and Kim Kardashian is at the top.”

The source claimed that Ryan hopes to revamp Wheel of Fortune, making it “younger and sexier.”

Part of that, according to the reports, includes Vanna stepping aside in favor of someone younger viewers will recognize.

The same source said that Ryan and Vanna struggled to find the same groove she and Pat had on set.

“After Pat quit, Vanna was optimistic about working with Ryan, but they have zero chemistry and no vibe,” they said.

“Plus, she could be his mother.

Vanna appeared to squash feud rumors later that same day, releasing a photo of her and Ryan hanging out off-set.

In the pic, the pair were seated caddy-corner to one another at a restaurant.

They held up spoons, loaded with food, and smiled for the camera.

Vanna wore a black and brown sweater while Ryan donned a dapper suit with a white shirt.

“Friends on and off camera. Enjoying one of our favorites, Chicken and Dumplings!” the game show personality captioned her post.

    FANS REACT

Despite the backlash over Ryan’s casting, fans in the comments were largely happy to see the TV and radio personality getting along with his new cohost.

“So great! The smiles say it all! Love you both,” one fan celebrated.

“It’s going to be fun!!! Cannot wait!!!!!” a second wrote.

“I’m so glad that you are friends already!” a third supporter exclaimed.

“Looking forward to this duo and the new set in the fall!” another person wrote.

Ahead of Wheel of Fortune‘s Season 41 premiere on Monday, September 11, fans have rallied behind Vanna White, vocalizing their support on the show’s social media channels.

The long-running game show has released some new promo material which shows hosts Pat Sajak and White side-by-side. Season 41 marks Sajak’s final season before he retires and is replaced by Ryan Seacrest.

“Probably the last season since Ryan Seacrest will tank it and you wont give Vanna a raise,” wrote one fan, referring to White’s reported contract disputes with Sony Pictures over a pay rise. White’s attorney, Bryan Freedman, alleged that the long-time letter-turner hasn’t received a raise in 18 years.

“Great job you two!!! She needs a raise already!!! What are you waiting for??? Do it!!!” another fan commented on the new promo photo.

“You need to keep Vanna and give her a raise. You ought to put her in Pat’s place and put Pat’s daughter in vanna whites place,” said another fan on Twitter/X.

Another commenter simply asked, “Does Vanna get a pay raise this season?”

White has co-hosted Wheel alongside Sajak for over four decades, but she will be missing for the first time in over 30 years during the show’s upcoming “Teachers Week,” set to air in October. White caught COVID in late July, which meant she missed the tapings. Instead, California-based “Teacher of the Year” recipient Bridgette Donald-Blue filled in as letter-turner.

While many fans want White to remain as letter-turner, others are calling for her to replace Sajak as host.

“There was no reason for that vast difference in pay. There are a lot of Vanna fans and a lot of Pat fans. I think she should host upon Pat’s retirement,” said a TVInsider commenter in response to an opinion piece we published.  “But if they replace Vanna after Pat retires then I can pretty much guarantee that they will lose a lot of the audience.”

“I agree. I don’t watch anything with Ryan Seacrest. He is over done and boring. Only Vanna deserves to be the host. She also deserves a big raise and lots of respect. If that Ryan guy is on I will never watch it again,” wrote another.

“I don’t care much for Seacrest. I think it would be great to have Vana as the host of Wheel of Fortune,” said another. “I think she would be the perfect host for the job.”

But not everyone agreed, with one fan writing, “NO! She’s retirement ready and we need someone younger to draw in younger viewers. Ryan is cool and current, and there doesn’t need to be a letter turner.”

The child beams with excitement. Ryan then reveals that he is going to be the new host for Wheel of Fortune. He is very complimentary of Pat Sajak and shares his excitement to work alongside Vanna White, calling her a “national treasure.”

Ryan tells of the importance of giving back when you are given some success in life. He desires to help others find happiness, too.

It is so valuable as believers in Christ to love others well by seeing them, giving your time to them, blessing them financially, and praying for them. Even if we do not have the physical resources that Ryan has, we have our faith in Jesus to come alongside those in need and love them well.

‘The Price Is Right’ Player Loses Car & Collapses After Drew Carey’s ‘Let’s Make a Deal’ Move

A Price Is Right contestant had to make a big decision between taking a cash prize or risking it all for a brand new car, and viewers are debating whether she made the right choice.

In a clip posted to the official Price Is Right Instagram page on Tuesday (March 4), host Drew Carey explained how things work in the Spelling Bee game to a contestant named Patricia. As he pointed out, the game involves choosing numbers on the board to reveal letters that spell out the word “CAR.” However, the cards also contain monetary values.

Patricia turned over five cards worth $1,000 each, meaning she could walk away with $5,000 or risk it and go for the car. “It’s a $19,000 car,” Carey explained. “But I’ll give you $5,000 right now just to forget about the car.”

After thinking it over for a moment, Patricia yelled, “I’ll take the five grand!”

Carey looked a little surprised, asking, “You’re gonna take the five grand?”

He then shook Patricia’s hand to confirm her decision, quipping, “I feel like Wayne Brady. Jonathan, show her what she’s gonna get.”

Carey was referring to fellow game show Let’s Make a Deal, hosted by Wayne Brady, alongside announcer Jonathan Mangum. On that show, contestants are offered something of value and given a choice of whether to keep it or exchange it for a different item. Carey and Brady previously worked together on the hit improv comedy show Whose Line Is It Anyway?.

As for Patricia, it turned out she made the wrong choice. Carey turned the cards over to reveal that she had the letters to spell out “CAR,” meaning she had lost out on a brand new ride. Patrica put her head in her hands and fell to the stage in shock.

Fans took to the Instagram comments to share their reactions, with one commenter writing, “Would not have taken the 5 grand.”

“She Should’ve Gone With The Automobile,” said another.

“Car it’s not every day you have an opportunity to win a new car,” another added.

Another wrote, “I was hoping she went for the car because she had all 5 letters.”

“You don’t need the money just sell the car you get more money than five grand,” added one fan.

However, others agreed with Patricia’s decision, with one user writing, “$5,000 sounds like a win to me!”

“Correct choice perhaps. Depends on her situation. She has to pay taxes on it. And if she doesn’t want it – she’d have to sell it … not bad ….5k,” said another.

“Just Take The Money And Run!!!” added one commenter.

Another added, “I saw it today u can’t blame her sometimes it’s hard.”

“If you need the money, take it,” said one user.

“Price Is Right” Chaos! Fans Fear for Drew Carey’s Safety as Contestants “Maul” the Host On Stage

Why ‘The Price is Right’ Fans Are Worried for Drew Carey’s Safety

    Sonja Flemming/CBS

The Price is Right fans are concerned for Drew Carey‘s safety after they noticed that they “maul” the host when they get on stage. Game show fans also noticed that the same thing happens on Wheel of Fortune with Ryan Seacrest.

An example of this happened four years ago when a contestant won the bidding round, enthusiastically hugged Drew, and knocked him over. On TPIR, contestants scream, run down the aisles, and hug Carey so tightly that fans wonder if there are rules in place on the game show.

A Reddit user posed the question on the platform. “Before the show tapes, do they announce to the audience, if you make it on stage, do NOT hug, maul, pick up, get rough with Drew?” they asked.

“Some of these contestants are too rough. They could accidentally hurt Drew.”

“Yeah, Drew isn’t exactly a spring chicken anymore. I realize contestants are pumped up, but please don’t damage the host… or the models either,” another fan begged. Carey is 66 years old.

“One almost pushed him over, and the woman today was crawling all over him,” pointed out another.

“I’ve been getting worried about him lately. Some of these crazies are getting way too physical with him,” said another.

“They show a hype video of people doing crazy things before you go into the studio, which inspires folks to be crazy,” a Reddit user let others know.

However, Reddit users pointed out that fans did the same thing to the previous host, Bob Barker, and no rules were enforced.

Similar things have happened on Wheel of Fortune since Seacrest joined as host.

A teacher shrieked wildly in his ear, an ex-TV anchor squeezed him tight, and another contestant knocked Seacrest over after celebrating his win. He opened up about the pain he has experienced since being on the show.

Do you think game show contestants are a bit too enthusiastic? Sound off in the comments.

“Wheel of Fortune” fans are going to see some changes when the long-running game show returns for its new season.

Production of “Wheel” has been adjusted to accommodate safety protocols, according to a press release from the game show’s production company, Sony Pictures Television.

In addition to following local government guidelines and rigorous testing protocol for contestants, talent, staff and crew, the upcoming season of “Wheel of Fortune” will see the platform surrounding the wheel redesigned, allowing for contestants and host Pat Sajak to stand six feet away from each other.

A new, curved monitor has also been installed around the wheel.

Additionally, players must spin the wheel using a personal “spinning cap,” which is a small cloth pocket that allows contestants to grip and spin the wheel without actually touching it.

“Wheel of Fortune” isn’t the only show to return to production with new safety measures during the pandemic.

Many have switched filming locations, adjusted formats, changed contestants or shortened seasons to adjust to the COVID-19 era.

For instance, the American edition of “Love Island” on CBS has moved locations from its Season 1 Fiji villa to a less glamorous quarantine “bubble” at a Las Vegas hotel.

And CBS’ “Big Brother” returned in August, switching to an all-star edition after postponing its June premiere.

NBC’s “America’s Got Talent” returned to production in June with an outdoors, socially distanced and abbreviated Judge Cuts round, and ABC’s “Dancing With the Stars” returns Sept. 14 with no studio audience because of the pandemic.

Wheel of Fortune drama explodes: Vanna White braces for billionaire replacement by Pat Sajak's daughter Maggie in behind‑the‑scenes plot - Brigada News

    Vanna White contract updates

White secured a reported $10 million‑a‑year deal in 2023, following Ryan Seacrest’s arrival as host. Her contract expires in summer 2026, fueling rumors about her long‑term role. An insider noted Maggie Sajak is a logical, cost‑saving replacement given her popularity and modest salary.

    Maggie Sajak background

Maggie, 30, joined Wheel in 2021 as a social media correspondent. Despite lacking the iconic status White has, Maggie’s youth and connection to former host Pat Sajak present a compelling replacement option for budget‑conscious executives.

An insider reported that Maggie is well liked by fans and cheaper to keep. Sources indicate that no formal offer has been issued to Maggie, but producers see her as an easy transition to reduce payroll.

    Vanna White’s reaction

White assured audiences last year that her presence remains essential and said the show “needs me.” She appears to appreciate the security of her position after securing a major salary increase.

Supporters argue White’s decades‑long presence, dating to her debut in 1982, gives the show essential brand identity and continuity.

    Cost‑cutting narrative and risk

Behind the scenes, network executives are reportedly analyzing ways to trim production costs. With Maggie on staff and viewers familiar with her, removing White could yield substantial savings. Yet insiders caution that losing White risks alienating loyal viewers.

    Industry context

Seacrest’s takeover in 2023 triggered pay renegotiations, including White’s triple salary increase. As high‑cost contracts come under pressure, many long‑time talent face uncertain renegotiations.

    Stakeholder concerns

Sources say Vanna is determined to preserve her role, questioning what other position offers $10 million for just 34 days of annual work. Despite her confidence, insiders worry the network’s financial strategy could override popularity.

White’s camp is reportedly preparing for negotiations and may push for another multi‑year deal before summer 2026. Meanwhile, Maggie continues her duties unabated, strengthening her public profile.

    What’s at stake

Fans loyal to White may react strongly to any change, while younger audiences might welcome fresh faces. Ultimately, the network must balance brand heritage against fiscal restraint—making the upcoming contract talks crucial.

As the summer deadline approaches, one question remains on everyone’s mind: will Vanna’s legacy secure her place, or will Maggie’s modern appeal pave the way for a new era—leaving fans wondering what comes next

‘The Price Is Right’ Contestant Speaks Out After 16 Failed Attempts to Get on Show

The Price Is Right contestant Alex Braun on May 21, 2025
    The Price Is Right/YouTube

Alex Braun finally heard the words that every The Price Is Right fan longs to hear — “Come on down!” And this was significant for Braun because he had auditioned for the game show 16 times in the past. The contestant has been on other game shows, but his big goal was to make it onto TPIR. Now he is speaking out about his experience in a fascinating interview.

The self-proclaimed “game show geek” finally got to meet Drew Carey and live out his dream on February 3. He had to travel through single-digit temperatures and nine inches of snow from St. Louis, Missouri, to get to California for the 10,000th episode. He brought four friends with him, and his name finally got called on the taping before the milestone episode was filmed. His episode aired on May 21.

“When you’ve been there 16 times, you kind of know how the show runs. You’re kind of playing in your head what would happen, a lot of ‘what-ifs,’ if your name gets called. It’s hard to plan reactions, but I thought about it that day, about running across the studio to say ‘hi’ to my four friends. All went out the door when I saw my name on the poster board; my mind went blank,” he told Call Newspapers.

Braun beat his competitors on Bidder’s Row when he bid $1 on a handcrafted fire pit, worth $1,214. “I was the last bidder, so I had a big advantage. I kept looking at my friends in the audience for bids, and bid $1,200 unbeknownst to me (that) Karen on the end had just bid $1,200,” he said. “I immediately bid $1201, the actual price was $1,214 – I couldn’t believe it.”

“I was excited to be called on down, but the fact that I won my way on stage – that was the next level. I was just tackling Drew, I was just so excited.”

He then played Side by Side for a trip to Alaska. He had to choose between two prices, $7,697 or $9,776, one of which was the correct price of the trip. Braun had a gut feeling to choose $7,697 after a strong reaction from the audience.

“I’m just looking forward to a trip,” Braun told the outlet, which he plans to take in spring 2026.  “Seriously, just being out of the 48 states is exciting. Part of the package is a sightseeing tour in a rental car, so that’ll be cool.”

Braun thought the hardest part of the whole game show was keeping quiet for three months about what he won and if he won. “I was antsy to see the final cut,” he shared. Braun hosted a viewing party with friends when his episode aired. “Watching myself on ‘Bidders’ Row’ when I’m seeing Drew reading off the price of the fire pit and I’m listening to every syllable, and it just started to slowly hit me that I won – I was just so excited.”

The contestant shared that his Nan got him hooked on game shows as a kid, and he made it a goal of his to be a contestant on TPIR. He can add that to his game show resume as The Price Is Right is his fourth game show appearance. Braun has also been on Wheel of FortuneYou Bet Your Life with Jay Leno, and 25 Words or Less. He wants to compete on more shows in the future, but he has to wait one year before appearing on any television game show. Braun has his sights set on winning a car, since he has won cash and trips. His next goal is The $100,000 Pyramid.

“God did not give me great athletic abilities, but I love to have fun and play games. These ones don’t require being physical,” he told the outlet.

“You can’t go there with the mindset of ‘I want to make my car payment, I could win this much money, I could buy a new deck.’ That kind of takes away from the experience,” Braun said. “You just have to go out there and have fun.”

Pat kicked things off on Tuesday night by interviewing the mom-of-two and asked, “Now Vanna and I were on your honeymoon?”

The broadcast cut to Vanna, 66, who threw up her arms and looked caught off-guard, unsure what was coming.

The contestant explained that their honeymoon coincidentally came as the iconic duo was filming a commercial spot.

She said, “So when my husband and I went on our honeymoon, you guys were filming promos there.

“So we watched you film by the pool, on the beach, and even one night we were having dinner.

“I excused myself from the table, and when I came back, my husband told me, ‘I nearly walked into Vanna. And I had no idea.’”

Pat replied, laughing, “Well there you go, I’m glad we could be a part of your honeymoon, and I’m sorry about knocking on the wall the way I did.”

Laura went to the bonus round with the highest score of $38,030, a trip to the Caribbean, and was joined by her husband offsides, whom Pat called “my old friend.”

Laura could not solve the tough puzzle as “Whirwild Year,” but Pat admitted the $40,000 bonus prize she missed out on was nearly equal to what she won.

He will bid farewell to the masses at the end of Season 41 on Friday, June 7, 2024.

But a rep for Wheel of Fortune exclusively confirmed to The U.S. Sun that Pat has filmed his last slate of six episodes on April 5, 2024.

This includes his final episode, fittingly titled “Thanks For The Memories,” and is already filmed, the show exclusively shared.

That means Pat is done hosting the show and the episodes fans are seeing come as he’s already retired.

The episode will be a TV milestone as the host has doled out puzzles and prizes alongside Vanna White, 66, since 1981 and 1982 respectively.

The show did not share if Pat’s farewell episode will be an all-out tribute with memories from over the years or simply a normal game ending with him saying goodbye.

Tickets for Pat’s penultimate five episodes were opened to the public at the last minute, while his farewell episode was reportedly not open to the public and was invite only.

Pat announced in spring of 2023 that he’d be leaving the iconic game show and that Season 41 would be his last.

Shortly after, Ryan Seacrest announced on Instagram that he would replace Pat as the new host come fall 2024.

Vanna will be joining Ryan for at least his first two seasons as host under her new contract.

The show airs weekdays at 7:30 pm ET on ABC, so fans can catch his sendoff on June 7 at that time.

According to a publication, the broadcaster will make a guest appearance on the Thursday, May 18, episode of the show hosted by former cohost Kelly Ripa and her husband, Mark Consuelos, who took over Seacrest’s hosting duties.

Seacrest heading back to his stomping grounds may not come as too much of a shock to fans, given that he promised he’d be back on the program while announcing his exit from the series in February.

“This isn’t the end, I’m going to be back,” the 48-year-old assured his loyal fans. “This place is remarkable. I’m going to miss coming into this studio to see the people who have worked here for so long. It is about the people here; it’s a family at Live and they adopted me for a little while and I’m grateful for that. … So I’ll definitely be visiting from time to time.”

Fans of Live! are likely ecstatic to hear of his return, as they have been split over Ripa and Consuelos taking the reins.

Between the overly PDA couple going overboard on live television to them airing out too much of their marital dirty laundry and pre-recording episodes months in advance, it seems Ripa and Consuelos can’t do right by their fans.

Following the husband and wife’s debut as cohosts in mid April, fans took to the internet to share their thoughts, with one joking: “Bruuuutal! Last time i watch. I can go to the mall and watch teenagers kiss LESS!!! THE BEGINNING OF THE END.”

“Ok Kelly..we get it..you love Mark..enough ..Now just get on with the show and entertainment..” noted another unimpressed viewer, while a third pleaded: “This the WORST decision. Horrible cohosts. There was no one else who could cohost with @KellyRipa ??? Please change this.” SB

Despite baring nothing but smiles on-air amid the constant backlash, Ripa finds the negative remarks surrounding Consuelos’ performance “irritating,” as OK! reported.
