Fox’s lead play-by-play announcer becomes the target of criticism on social media after acting controversially in Super Bowl LIX

‘Don’t like that’ – Tom Brady flexes $800k watch as he wastes no time with verdict on controversial Chiefs call

    The GOAT is furious.

Tom Brady wasted no time in expressing his frustration towards the officiating in Super Bowl LIX.

It’s been an up and down first year for the seven-time Super Bowl champion in the broadcast booth.

And while Brady has improved significantly since calling his first game in Week 1, he is nowhere near perfect, partially due to the restrictions placed on him as a broadcaster and minority owner with the Las Vegas Raiders.

However, those restrictions were taken down for the Super Bowl, which was evident during the first quarter of Super Bowl LIX between the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles, when he lamented the officials and criticized a call.

Something he was not previously allowed to do.

Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts unleashed a go ball to wide receiver A.J. Brown on fourth-and-two from midfield.

Brown caught the ball but was called for offensive pass interference.

    A questionable call at best.

“Don’t like that one bit,” Brady said.

“It’s too critical of a game.

“You let the players play and it should be decided on the field.”

Brady ended his first year in the broadcast booth by calling Super Bowl LIX
With over 100 million people watching, a couple million took notice.

    And raced to the internet.

‘Oh my goodness they called that a PI, a slight touch of the shoulder pad without it impeding the defender in any way,’ Chad Johnson wrote on X.

‘Fantastic start for a league tying to avoid ref-related conspiracy theories,’ one fan wrote.

‘I’m glad the NFL spent all week saying that the officiating wouldn’t be a problem! Surely it won’t be,’ another fan chimed in.

Fox signed Brady to a 10-year, $375 million deal and has certainly reaped the good and the bad so far.

When you've got it, flaunt it
    4

When you’ve got it, flaunt it
It pays to have the greatest football player of all time in your booth, as an employee of your company.

But it also pays to have to go through the growing pains that Brady has gone through.

Even when the spotlight is the biggest and brightest.

    On Super Bowl LIX.

In Brady’s defense, the restrictions have made it hard on him to do the job at an elite level.

However, there were no excuses for Brady on Sunday, as those certain restrictions were lifted for him due to the Super Bowl and the special circumstances surrounding the league’s biggest game.

Apparently that Brady was ready to criticize the officials, seeing as it took less than five minutes to do so.

And he did he did it in style.

Brady was wearing a Jacob & Co. Caviar Tourbillon watch for his first Super Bowl as a broadcaster.

A watch that is worth reportedly anywhere between $600k-$800k.

Jack Shannon was picked on the April 29 episode.

After putting in his bid on a DSLR camera, he guessed the closest amount and was picked for the next showcase.

Before beginning the round, Drew, 65, greeted Jack and told viewers that he was there with his father.

“Jack and his father making a living, it’s a family business where they make labels for like wine bottles, beer, paint can, anything you want,” Drew said.

“What’s the weirdest thing you’ve had to make a label for?”

Jack thought about it and came up with octagon bottles.

“Oh wow. What an exciting life Jack leads,” Drew joked, stepping closer to the camera.

Jack laughed nervously and Drew joined in on his laughter.

“Still talking about those octagon bottles,” the host laughed.

They then moved on to the prizes he could get if he won the game.

    DREW’S ENCOUNTER

Jack’s dad, Richard, posted a photo of them waiting to see if they got picked on Reddit.

He told the platform users that Drew came over and shook both of their hands.

Richard said that Drew remembered about his business since his wife had won the day before.

Drew then turned to Jack and asked if he worked for his dad and about going to college.

He didn’t think they would get chosen, but he was wrong.

    ‘NOT FUNNY!’

While most fans expressed their excitement and congratulated Jack for getting on the show, others pointed out that Drew comment was not funny.

“Didn’t like Drew asking what the strangest thing labeled and then laughing at him saying ‘still talking about those octagon bottles,’” one fan said.

“He asked & then laughs & pokes fun about an exciting life. Not nice and not funny!”

“He’s a young guy following his father’s business. Still rude & not funny,” another fan agreed.

“I didn’t like that either. I happened to be just tuning into the show right at that moment, so I did not hear the context. But it was not nice for Drew to poke fun at the young man like that. A joke at a contestant’s expense is never okay,” a third chimed in.

However, other fans defended Drew by saying that he was poking fun at his job and not him.

‘Jeopardy!’ Boss Drops News About Big Change on Show

    Ken Jennings
    Jeopardy!/YouTube

The recent Jeopardy! Masters tournament, which was won by James Holzhauer, allowed the show’s producers to try out some new things. But not all these format changes will be sticking around.

In addition to introducing a soccer-style points-based format for a win, Masters let viewers see where the Daily Doubles were hidden on the board. However, the latter idea might be a one-and-done deal, as the show’s executive producer Michael Davies admits wasn’t a fan.

“[Masters] was every bit as good as I hoped it was going to be, and I think we can make it better in the future,” Davies said on the most recent episode of the Inside Jeopardy! podcast. And it seems one of those ways to improve the show could be getting rid of the Daily Double reveals.

“Almost everybody’s asking me about the reveal of the Daily Double,” Davies continued. “That is almost the minor detail that was done as a format gift to ABC. I’m sort of on the fence about it; it feels to me like a bit of a stage weight, to be honest, and it was my idea, but we don’t really need it.”

“I’d love it to be part of a companion app,” he added. “And I think that we need to really look at the shot sequence of the selection of categories and how the clue then goes full screen, and we either need to get the category on the full-screen clue or we need to change the shot sequence so it’s very clear from which the clue is coming.”

Jeopardy!' Boss Reveals Brand New Set & Other Changes Coming to Show - IMDb

Davies’ comments come in contrast to what host Ken Jennings said last month when speaking to WISN Channel 12 Milwaukee News about the Masters tournament and the new Daily Double format.

“I don’t know if we’ll try it on the syndicated show,” Jennings said, “but I really like it because the host always knows where the Daily Doubles are in advance, so I get to watch a contestant who really needs the Daily Double kind of advance towards it, ‘Oh, is she gonna get it? Oh no, she’s switched categories!”

As for the Jeopardy! fans, opinion was split on revealing the Daily Doubles. “It’s a fun thing to try,” wrote one viewer on the Jeopardy! Reddit forum. “For those who want to know or think the games were rigged, this satisfies them. For those who want to stick to tradition, closing your eyes for 5-10 seconds isn’t a big deal.”

“I’m totally indifferent to it,” said another. “When I watch Jeopardy! I’m never actively thinking “Ooh, where are the Daily Doubles?” There’s no “spoiler” aspect to me by revealing where they are before the round.”

Jeopardy! viewers voice bewilderment over mind-boggling final clue that left EVERY contestant totally stumped - so, do YOU know the answer? | Daily Mail Online

Another viewer added, “I don’t see the point of it. It doesn’t add anything to the game (especially since their locations aren’t revealed to the contestants) and it really just isn’t necessary for viewers to know.”

Maggie Sajak makes a SURPRISING announcement about her future on Wheel of Fortune

Maggie Sajak Hints at Leaving ‘Wheel of Fortune’ With Major Career Change

The show’s social media correspondent and Pat Sajak’s daughter revealed on her Instagram stories that she passed the California State Bar Exam.

Maggie Sajak may be following in her father’s footsteps and looking forward to a life beyond Wheel of Fortune.

While she’s been the long-running game show’s social media correspondent since 2021 and has even filled in for Vanna White on a few occasions, a recent career update could be an indication that she’s leaving Wheel in the near future.

Via TV Insider, Sajak took to her Instagram Stories to share a photo of her holding up her lawyer oath certificate, revealing she passed the California State Bar Exam.

“A couple [of] months ago, I officially took the oath to become a lawyer in the state of California,” Sajak captioned the photo. “Thank you to everyone who supported me through this journey. I am excited to do some good with this in the future.” What this means for her future on Wheel of Fortune is unknown, but it’s certainly exciting to see that Sajak is well on her way to becoming a full-time lawyer, even if it does mean stepping away from Wheel.
ABC's "Celebrity Wheel of Fortune"(Christopher Willard/ABC via Getty Images) VANNA WHITE, MAGGIE SAJAK, PAT SAJAK
Sajak’s big news comes months after father Pat Sajak’s retirement.

Ryan Seacrest officially took over as host in September, and despite some reported problems behind the scenes, it seems to be working out alright. However, White almost didn’t return for this season as well due to contract negotiations and in the midst of it all, many fans wanted Sajak to take over her role as letter turner.

White eventually managed to get a new contract, and for now, she seems to be staying on the show, so Maggie won’t be taking over for her, at least not right now.

As of yet, Maggie Sajak has not stepped away from Wheel of Fortune, but it wouldn’t be surprising if an announcement was made at a later time.

It’s clear that she is focusing on something much more important than Wheel, and even if that means that the series will be losing another Sajak, at least it’s for a good reason. For now, though, Sajak is sticking with Wheel of Fortune, but fans may want to prepare themselves for the future, just in case.

Wheel of Fortune has entered a new era with Ryan Seacrest as host and a new set, and it’s very possible that more changes could be on the way. There’s no way of knowing what will happen, but one can only hope that it’s for the better.

Although Khemlani did not elaborate on what led to his decision to leave CBS, RadarOnline.com reported that the former exec had been investigated by an outside law firm after several female staff members complained about his allegedly disrespectful behavior toward them.

Per the complaints, Khemlani reportedly had a “combustible temper” and was accused of being “rude” and “micromanaging” employees. He also allegedly went on a tirade at Chief Financial Officer Stacey Benson and another female executive during a meeting in April.

“They had a breakdown after the meeting,” an insider claimed, referring to both women. “They were shaken.”

Although the findings of the investigation were not shared at the time, an insider stated: “If he were found to have violated any HR policies he would not be continuing to have an ongoing relationship with CBS.”

  • [BREAKING NEWS] Norah O’Donnell on Her Future after saying goodbye to CBS Evening News

[BREAKING NEWS] Norah O’Donnell on Her Future after saying goodbye to CBS Evening News

    Norah O’Donnell Signs Off

As the CBS Evening News anchor says goodbye, she reflects on industry upheaval, sexism in media, and what comes next.

Norah O’Donnell has grilled world leaders and Supreme Court justices. She has hosted a morning show and anchored CBS Evening News, addressing the American people from the same chair that Walter Cronkite once occupied. After a decade of overtures and countless letters, she finally landed an interview with the Pope in May 2024—a feat that not even her idol Barbara Walters was able to pull off. She has long dreamed of writing a book titled The Art of the Question—an ode to the rhetorical device she sees as foundational to her discipline. These past few months, she has been asking one of herself: Can you leave on top?

    She will soon find out.

On January 23, O’Donnell signed off from Evening News. Oprah taped a surprise video message for the occasion. Her staff surrounded her lucite desk. And while O’Donnell will remain at the network as a contributor to all of its news broadcasts, including Evening News and 60 Minutes, this moment marks the indisputable end of an era.

In the time since she assumed the role in 2019, O’Donnell has covered the end of the first Trump administration, an earth-shattering pandemic, several strains of natural disasters, two presidential elections, one presidential funeral, and the first week of the second Trump administration. She has cut vacations short, woken up before dawn, hurried to the scene of a mass shooting, and scurried back to Washington, D.C. to make it to her studio for primetime. She has broadcast from an aircraft carrier near the South China Sea and produced segments for Evening News and 60 Minutes with missiles falling around her.

interview setup in a formal room with two individuals seated opposite each other

Norah O’Donnell interviewing President Joe Biden at the White House for his first television interview after taking office in 2021.

Over Christmas, with the end of her tenure at Evening News on the horizon, she unplugged for two weeks for the first time ever with her husband, the chef Geoff Tracy, and three children. “I did say, ‘If something breaks out in the world, I cannot leave or else my husband will divorce me,’” she says, laughing. She didn’t answer emails. She deferred decisions until she was back in the office. It was a preview of her future, and she liked it.

It’s a privilege to have a front row seat to history. But it is sometimes anxiety-provoking.”

“It’s been like sipping water from a firehouse,” she says of the gig she has held until now when we sit down over Zoom a few weeks before her final taping. “And while I thoroughly enjoy it, because I love the news and am insatiably curious about what’s happening in the world, it’s also hard. We get the call, we move. It’s a privilege to have a front row seat to history. But it is sometimes anxiety-provoking.” She worries that given how reluctant journalists are to draw attention to themselves, it’s an element of their work that few discuss. Freer now, she is not so reticent: “I am open about saying it has led me to therapy.”

O’Donnell, 51, leaned in for decades, never complaining about the demands of the job. That head-down approach worked for her. After starting in journalism as a writer for Roll Call, she moved on to NBC where she popped up on Today, served as White House correspondent for NBC News, and anchored Weekend Today. When she made the switch to CBS, she was named chief White House correspondent and later co-anchor of CBS This Morning. Getting tapped for Evening News was the final promotion. The peak that reporters hope to summit; one from which most do not descend unless pushed.

pilot in flight gear giving a thumbs up from an aircraft cockpit

Norah O’Donnell flying with the legendary Air Force Thunderbirds for her series “Profiles in Service” on the CBS Evening News.

Except O’Donnell is not the lone woman looking for a path down the mountain. A week before O’Donnell’s departure from Evening News, Hoda Kotb bid audiences farewell at Today. Soon Andrea Mitchell will end her noontime show on MSNBC, although she will continue to report for both the cable network and NBC News. When Kotb announced that she was leaving the iconic morning show, she said she had reached “the top of the wave” and wanted to give her children more of her attention. Mitchell framed her decision in terms of resource allocation too, telling viewers she hoped the move would give her time to “do more of what I love the most: more connecting, listening and reporting in the field.”

Individual motivations differ, but the trio of exits underscores certain universal realities: star anchors are expensive, broadcast and cable news are in decline, presidential elections are natural inflection points, and journalism is no longer Cronkite’s business. The ladder that O’Donnell climbed is now as splintered as the media landscape itself.

The women who have followed behind her know it. “We’re all seeing the same broader trends in the landscape,” says Dasha Burns, a Trumpworld expert who up until a few months ago was an on-camera correspondent and rising star at NBC News. A generation ago, someone like Burns, 32, might have chased the anchor chair. Instead, she announced in December she was leaving network TV to serve as the White House bureau chief for Politico. “The idea of what is the best, the highest, the most powerful perch in news has completely changed,” Burns says. “I don’t know that there is one anymore. There isn’t that one pinnacle, and I think that’s exciting.”

a journalist in a damaged interior space pointing and examining the surroundings

Norah O’Donnell reporting on the ground in Israel in the days following the October 7th attacks.

Burns has no time for nostalgia. O’Donnell is leaving hers behind as well. “I’ve worked so hard, and the people I’ve worked with have worked so hard,” she says. “Does part of me wish that I could have been doing it during the era of Cronkite? Well, sure. But there were limitations then too—for both men and women.”

“I think we’re going to see more change in journalism in the next 18 to 24 months than we’ve seen in the last 20 years,” O’Donnell continues. “There’s just an entire realignment.” As much as she believes in the power of the industry, she remains candid about its dire need to innovate. How can it be transformed? How can journalists reach new viewers—on their phones, not tuned into primetime, skeptical of the status quo. “No one has figured that out yet,” she says. She wants to try.

We’re going to see more change in journalism in the next 18 to 24 months than we’ve seen in the last 20 years.”

“The media changed quite some time ago,” says Connie Chung, the famed newscaster who co-anchored CBS Evening News a generation before O’Donnell and made history as an Asian-American woman on television before being ousted from the job. Economics, social media, audience preferences—all have factored into the diminishment of the news business, Chung, 78, says. Incentives evolve, publications chase new metrics, and consumers lose. “I think the average person, including me, cannot find a good source of information for just plain news,” she says. “We bounce around from one to the next. It’s so frustrating.”

Still, it hasn’t escaped her attention that it’s the most seasoned women who seem to be headed for the proverbial exits first. On Evening News, two men will take over for O’Donnell. Craig Melvin is replacing Kotb at Today. “The situation with women is not good,” Chung says. “I think women in this country have taken several steps back for so many reasons. We’re wondering how is it ever going to stop? When is the pendulum going to swing back?” In journalism, as in America, “progress is by inches,” she says. And it’s easily reversed.

interview scene with prominent costumes and fashion in the background
    CBS News / Jon Morgan
Norah O’Donnell interviewing Dolly Parton in Nashville, Tennessee.

O’Donnell stresses that it was her decision to leave Evening News. In the weeks after her interview with Pope Francis aired, she started to have conversations with executives about her eventual departure. She announced her plan to step down over the summer. The extended lead time made for a long goodbye, but O’Donnell was insistent. “We made this choice after discussing what happens next, how best to utilize my talents,” she says. “What was really important for me, because of the type of ridiculous, gossip-page crap that gets written about women, was to have a timeline that made it very clear that this was exactly what I wanted to do and that I was in control of my future.”

Plus, she points out, she is staying at the network. She’s not starting a Substack or incorporating a new media company. She has no interest in striking out on her own. “I have so much respect for entrepreneurs, because creating something out of nothing is really hard to do,” she says. “I think CBS News is the best at long-form journalism and has the best producers and editors, and I don’t want to leave.”

O’Donnell insists this is “just the beginning,” and those who know her well are sure she will find her equilibrium. “Norah never stopped doing reporting and going out into the field during her entire tenure as anchor of CBS Evening News,” says Dana Bash, host of Inside Politics and co-anchor of State of the Union on CNN. “Many anchors fairly say, ‘Okay, I’m going to let other reporters do it, and I am going to stay in the warmth and the comfort behind the desk.’ She didn’t. She is just tireless.”

“I think Norah is an innovator,” adds Susan Page, Washington bureau chief for USA Today. “The fact that she’s made the decision to make this move reflects that.”

I think it’s important to have women in these lead anchor chairs, and I think it is a setback that it’s going to be all men.”

Even so, farewells are bittersweet and this one has been made more so because of her replacements. “I think it’s important to have women in these lead anchor chairs, and I think it is a setback that it’s going to be all men,” O’Donnell says.

Later, she adds, “I think there are incredible opportunities for women in journalism. But I think it would be a disservice to suggest, especially to young women who are entering the workforce, that they’re not going to encounter sexism and potentially harassment. It exists. It does. And it exists even for the most powerful women in business, media, and politics.”

She experienced it too, of course. But balancing out the low periods were moments of genuine exhilaration. In 2008, when Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton were competing for the Democratic presidential nomination, O’Donnell was still working at MSNBC and NBC News. “This was before iPhones or social media, and I was so pregnant,” she says. Reporting as the results from the final nominating contests came in, O’Donnell stood in front of a green screen and pointed to the map. After, comments poured in. O’Donnell remembers hearing from friends and friends of friends and moms of friends who couldn’t believe it. “They were like, ‘I’ve never seen a pregnant woman on television like that, standing.’”

Years later, when O’Donnell took the job as anchor of Evening News, she said in an interview that she had at last found her voice as a journalist. Now that she’s leaving, she tells me she is less sure. That’s her next assignment.

That gig has lasted for Drew since 2007, as he took over when the legendary Bob Barker retired.

In addition to playing pricing games with everyday contestants from the studio audience, The Price Is Right also has specials featuring celebrities.

Sheryl had a special request for The Price Is Right host

During Drew’s time on The Talk, he spoke about The Price Is Right’s upcoming Holiday Heroes special and mentioned it would feature first responders and contestants who served in the military.

Sheryl asked, “Would you do a celebrity version of The Price Is Right, where people could come on and play for charities?”

“We have,” Drew said and started to talk about that, but Sheryl cut him off.

“No, I mean, because we free,” she quickly said.

Drew lost it at that moment, laughing as he realized she meant due to them having more time once The Talk ended.

Monsters and Critics reported that The Talk is ending this month due to cancelation. It premiered in 2010 and claimed 11 Emmys during its multiple seasons.

Along with Sheryl, Akbar, and Jerry, the show’s hosts include Amanda Kloots and Natalie Morales.

As previously reported, a new soap opera will replace The Talk on CBS.

Drew commented on The Talk ending for hosts and fans

Drew is familiar with a show getting canceled, as that was the fate of his sitcom The Drew Carey Show after nine seasons. The Talk is ending after being on the air since 2010.

“It bummed me out totally, man, because you guys are the greatest. I love this show,” Drew told the hosts.

Akbar asked Drew what advice he had for them in their final days of the show airing. He explained that he heard a great message from a self-help tape during a drive home after the show’s cancellation.

“One day, I realized that my past didn’t matter, so just like drinking, I dropped it,” he told them.

He said he started introducing himself to everyone as Drew, and if they knew him, they did, and if they didn’t, it didn’t matter.

“I didn’t lead with my living,” he told them, mentioning it was “so freeing” not to be always attached to a job title or having it define you.

During part of the interview, Drew also spoke about traveling to Ecuador and Peru. He praised a restaurant he ate at in Lima, Peru, and recommended it to everyone. That also gave The Talk hosts another consideration for things to do once their show ends.

He told the hosts, “If you have some time on your hands, go down to Lima. Best meal I’ve ever had in my life.”

Viewers will see the final episode of The Talk air on Friday, December 20, 2024.

Wheel of Fortune fans slam Ryan Seacrest for ‘annoying’ habit and ‘trying to seem relaxed’

Wheel of Fortune fans are once again slamming host Ryan Seacrest for an ‘annoying’ habit he has on the hit game show.

Fans of Wheel of Fortune are once again slamming host Ryan Seacrest for having an “annoying” habit and seeming like he’s “trying too hard.”

Season 42 has already drawn criticism from viewers as they’ve called the new set design “over the top” and horrible for being too bright and “hurting” their eyes, distracting them from puzzles.

Others have taken aim at the show’s apparent “dizzing” jump cuts, but Seacrest’s hosting has drawn the most comments from viewers.

During Seacrest’s third episode, they noticed he has a distracting habit with his hands.

As he got to know players Jennifer, Samantha, and Jose, during the interview bit of the show, the American Idol host kept his hands in his suit pockets as he didn’t have an cue cards to hold.

Fans took to X, formerly Twitter, to calling out the habit, with some saying he was “trying too hard” to seem “relaxed.”

One person wrote: “Get your hands out of your pockets, Ryan” as another fumed: “The set sucks. And what’s this with his hands in his pockets???”

A third added: “I don’t like Seacrest yet…he’s annoying the s— outta me right now!”

A fourth vented: “I get this isn’t a newscast or something serious but I also didn’t like how relaxed Ryan was.

“It almost like he trying hard to come off as, ‘See? I’m not nervous.’ At the beginning of the round, Ryan had his hands in his pockets and was leaning against the ledge.

“The only time Pat had his hands in his pockets was during the credits and the only time Pat leaned against the ledge was for comedic effect.”

Besides Seacrest’s hosting style, fans have been complaining about the bright new set since the season premiere.

Some viewers then centered their attention of the show’s jump cuts, with several angry fans taking to Reddit to share their negative opinions.

At the top of the board, the poster wrote: “The Jump Cuts on the New Season are Dizzying.”

Underneath, they wrote: “I’ve noticed that they are speeding the show up significantly with rapid fire jump cuts and it’s honestly hard to watch. They do this on the new version of Password too.

“On Password they will NOT hold a shot for more than 3 seconds before cutting to something else. It’s hard to get used to and it’s almost making me anxious.”

In the comments section, one person agreed: “Absolutely. They also don’t show the puzzle long enough for me to play along at home.”

Another pointed out: “This is a symptom from internet video culture. It absolutely sucks. The jump cut was always meant to be a last resort, then was a stylistic choice… and then when youtube came along, young people didn’t know anything about editing and it just took over.”

They added: “I’ve seen it start bleeding into regular TV and I hope it stops. We need to keep bringing attention to it. Shots need to be held longer, and for god’s sake, stop editing out natural pauses as people speak!

“Sorry, you just hit on one of my pet peeves. It’s even in podcasts now, where they edit out EVERY PAUSE and think an audio of constant speech is okay. It’s baffling.”

A third added: “I’m not sure why they have made so many formatting changes. I don’t mind all of them, and I appreciate updating things every now and then, but maybe they should have gradually ushered in changes some time other than when they’re also introducing a new host.”

THE Price is Right fans have furiously called out a player for wasting his turn on the game with a joke bid.

Viewers noted that even host Drew Carey appeared shocked and confused by how the contestant played the game during Tuesday’s show.

Almost halfway through the episode, Drew called a man named Nicholas from the audience to try his chance at making it to the main pricing games.

“Welcome to the show, good luck,” the host, 65, told the audience member as he excitedly made his way down toward the podiums by the stage.

He and three others had to guess the price of a set of workout equipment that included a vertical knee-raise station and a spin bike.

The goal was to give a bid that was the closest to the real price without going over.

Nicholas was the first of The Price is Right players to guess, and he shocked everyone with his response.

“I’m gonna say $1 million,” the contestant said as the normally-raucous crowd remained completely silent.

    CONFUSING THE HOST

“Seriously,” Drew asked as he stumbled to say anything else.

“Yeah, it looks like some nice equipment,” Nicholas continued.

“We can put one million on there if you want us to,” Drew said, giving the game show contestant another chance to change his mind.

He didn’t, though, and encouraged Drew to put the bid through.

While Drew accepted the response, the production team was unable to put the price on Nicholas’ podium as it was too large of a number.

The other three players rang in with much lower guesses – $2400, $1250, and $1500.

While reading all of the guesses back, Drew couldn’t help but chuckle when he read out the $1 million bid.

The actual retail value for the workout equipment ended up being $1798, leaving Nicholas’ guess nowhere close to being accurate.

Still, he clapped and cheered for Sandy, who won with her guess of $1500.

Fans at home were furious with Nicholas for taking the place of another audience member only to give that guess.

    UPSETTING THE FANS

“Bruh I was yelling at my TV Screen over this,” one upset viewer wrote on an online forum. “$ 1 million for an exercise bike? Come on.”

“Wish they could send somebody like that back to the audience,” a second suggested.

“The best part was that the audience just sat there in silence,” a third fan wrote. “They recognized a clown when they saw one.”

“Feel bad for everyone in the audience whose dream was to come on down,” a fourth angry viewer said.
The Price is Right fans think rowdy contestant ‘went too far’ with Drew Carey by abruptly lifting host up without his consent
One fan called out the contestant for giving the “stupidest bid ever,” while another said he just wanted attention.

Others said they felt bad for Drew as he didn’t know if Nicholas was being serious with his guess or not.

    EXPLAINING HIMSELF

Later on The Price is Right, Nicholas revealed why he’d given such a surprising answer.

The explanation arrived after he was given another chance to move into the main pricing games by once again guessing against others, this time for the price of a collection of baseball gear.

This time around, he gave a more common response and ended up winning.

After coming up on stage and shaking Drew’s hand, the host joked that Nicholas was able to get a $1 million bid in and still eventually get on stage.

That’s when he explained that he had lost a bet and the consequence was him having to bid $1 million if chosen to play.

“Oh, no, no problem,” Drew told him. “[…]You gotta pay off your bets.”

While he lost that initial round due to his guess, Nicholas won his second round guess and was able to go up on stage with Drew
