Jeopardy! fans spot subtle, unannounced set change after show reveals big streaming news

JEOPARDY! fans spotted a subtle and unannounced set change.

This was after the long-running NBC show revealed some huge streaming news.

Just a day after a landmark deal was announced, it seems some changes have already been made to Jeopardy!

One viewer took to Reddit as they noticed that the sign behind the studio audience was subtly altered.

The thread on the fan forum platform was titled: “Did anybody notice the Jeopardy sign change from Friday’s game?”

One viewer replied: “Looks like the hanging light fixtures are gone as well. Too bad – they subtly echoed the set and I thought they looked really cool, especially in person.”

As another noted: “I noticed that for Masters the Jeopardy sign was the same as the 2nd photo, and was wondering if/when we’ll see it appear in Syndication. Guess I’ve got the answer now!”

This comes after it was announced that both Jeopardy! and Wheel of Fortune will be available to stream the day after they air on TV.

As part of a huge new deal, Sony Pictures Television will allow Hulu and Peacock to show the hit game shows on their services from the fall.

The streaming deal is separate to the syndication row Sony is currently involved in with CBS, which allows local stations to screen episodes.

Sony Pictures Television chairman Keith Le Goy said: “We are thrilled to bring America’s favorite game shows to an even wider audience on Hulu, Hulu on Disney+, and Peacock.

“Jeopardy! and Wheel of Fortune are two of the most successful game shows in television history, and we look forward to giving fans the best possible streaming access to our shows this fall.”

Jeopardy! fans demand major rule change to shake up format as show has ‘gone downhill’ with ‘carousel’ of one-day champs
Sony sued CBS for allegedly breaching their deal and attempting to syndicate the show abroad as the two entertainment giants are currently embroiled in a legal wrangle.

The U.S. Sun previously revealed Jeopardy! continues to be one of America’s favorite gameshows among viewers.

Ken Jennings took over the hosting duties from the show in 2022.

According to Nielsen, Jeopardy! pulled a solid 8,902,000 viewers to the show in early March.

Wheel of Fortune – hosted by Ryan Seacrest – trailed slightly behind in the number two spot with 8,477,000 viewers.

In third came Family Feud with 7,218,000 fans.

Pat, 78, best known as the former host of Wheel of Fortune, is in the tropical location on business doing some theater work.

Maggie, 30, has been making the most out of the trip soaking up the rays on the beach.

In her latest post to Instagram and Facebook, the beauty can be seen wearing a true-green bikini filming a fun “get ready with me video” while sat on the sand.

She stationed her phone with the sea as her backdrop, looking ever the more mermaid-like with her free-flowing blonde locks and layers of shell-adorned necklaces.

Maggie goes through the various steps of her routine to become a total beach babe, including putting on sunscreen, placing a flower behind her ear, and adding shimmery makeup.

During the video Maggie runs up to the sea to gather some shells, showing off her fit physique.

She captioned the post with “grwm at the beach” followed by an assortment of beach-related emojis such as shells, fish, and a palm tree.

It’s the perfect follow up to her previous post from a few days ago, where the star shared a series of other vacay snaps captioned “checking in with the mermaids”.

Fans of Maggie flocked to the comments section of her post to praise her glowing skin and honed figure.

“Drop dead gorgeous”, said one commenter.

Ken Jennings Breaks the Internet With New Jeopardy! Photo—Fans Can’t Get Enough

‘Jeopardy!’ Fans Go Wild Over Photo of Ken Jennings Hosting at Age 70

    Ken Jennings
    Jeopardy, Inc!

Ken Jennings has become the face of Jeopardy!, and it’s hard to imagine anyone else hosting decades from now. But speaking of faces and imagination, what will the former champion look like when the future comes? On Monday, November 25, fans got their answer, whether they were mentally prepared for it or not.

An internet-savvy fan decided to find out, creating a hilarious, and what other users ruled was an eerily “accurate” mock-up of Jennings with an age filter hosting the quiz show in 20 years.

The image depicts Jennings hosting Season 60 of the quiz show. Given that he’s currently 50 and Jeopardy! is now airing Season 41, he would be around 70 years old. This would also put him in Alex Trebek’s age range during the late host’s latter years. With that, here’s the shocking photo in all of its glory:

Season 60 – Here is the host of Jeopardy!
    byu/LittleDrumminBoy inJeopardy

“Season 60 – Here is the host of Jeopardy!” the user posted in the Jeopardy! Reddit forum. Jennings is seen with a full head of stark white hair, a pair of rectangular glasses, and a big grin while glancing over to where the players stand.

Fans went wild in the comments, many saying he doesn’t not resemble Trebek (sans mustache, which the late host ditched in the ’90s), while others shared other more outlandish comparisons.

“Hope he makes it that far. I fuggin love Ken Jennings,” one fan commented.

“That’s more like season 70. He’s only 50. That’s definitely an 80-year-old man in the picture,” argued another.

“Kex Trebennings? Alen Jennbek?” joked a third.

“I bet Ken could rock a bitchin mustache!” wrote a fourth referring to Trebek’s famous ‘stache.

“That looks like it could be pretty accurate really,” wrote a fifth.

“I love and hate this,” joked a sixth.

“Can we get him to say, ‘Pepperidge Farm remembers?’” quipped a seventh.

“I want to see a commercial with him selling me Werther’s Originals,’ wrote an eighth.

Additional fans took this as an opportunity to share their appreciation for the host in general and their favorite recent moments.

“The other night when a contestant said they “Named their dog after a jeopardy champion..” And without missing a beat, Jennings goes “Aww, and how is little Ken doing these days?” I was howlin,” another fan posted.

“Ken is FANTASTIC. He was born to be host of Jeopardy. I am amazed how much MORE I enjoy the show because he is host. So impressive,” wrote one more.

Martin Short Gets Real: The Future of Only Murders, and Why Jiminy Glick Wasn’t the Right Fit for Match Game

Martin Short on the Future of ‘Only Murders in the Building,’ and Why He Didn’t Host ‘Match Game’ as Jiminy Glick

martin short match game stream onlineCaitlin Cronenberg

Martin Short was the only one of the three “Only Murders in the Building” stars to receive an Emmy acting nomination this year — and he’s still laughing at how co-star Steve Martin took the news. “Steve phoned me about mid afternoon,” Short tells Variety‘s Awards Circuit Podcast. Martin proceeded to play dumb about the news: “‘Hi, it’s Steve. So I’ve been out all day, and I’ve been hiking and biking and, oh my God, I’ve been so busy. Hey, have you heard anything about the Emmys?’”

“Only Murders in the Building” has been quite the triumph for Short, who earlier this year won his first-ever SAG Award, for outstanding performance by a male actor in a comedy series. That same night, he and his co-stars also won the SAG Award for comedy series ensemble.

    Popular on Variety

“It’s a great show, it’s well written, it’s well directed, it’s well crafted, and it’s a hit,” Short says, marveling at the success he’s experiencing at this stage of his career. “Those things are very rare… it’s not only obviously great to be nominated for things, but to be so personally pleased with the outcome of the show is amazing.”

As Oliver Putnam, Short is in many ways the emotional core of “Only Murders.” Over four seasons — and soon five — audiences have seen his character struggle to maintain a bond with his son, lament over what his career could have been and then come close to a second chance, and then even fall in love with Loretta (Meryl Streep).

Season 4 ended with the wedding of Oliver and Loretta — but this being “Only Murders in the Building,” there is, of course, a murder in the building at the very end: Arconia doorman Lester (Teddy Coluca). That brings us to Season 5, which returns Sept. 9. So how much murders can take place in the building? In other words, how long might the show continue?

“I think that the reality is, you know when it feels like it’s past its time,” Short says. “I think everyone’s amazed that it’s gone this long. This is a long time in streaming to go five years. ‘The Dick Van Dyke Show’ ended after five years, because one of the reasons was that they were afraid of losing the quality of it. But then, ‘Friends’ went how long, and they were always brilliant.”

On this week’s episode of the Variety Awards Circuit Podcast, we talk to Short about “Only Murders in the Building,” about his new gig hosting the latest iteration of the game show “Match Game,” and we even get a cameo from one of Short’s house guests, Tina Fey. But first, on the Roundtable, we look at some of the week’s news — including the latest on Disney negotiations to keep the Oscars — and where things stand as Phase 2 voting kicks off this Monday. Listen below!

Short says he’s having a blast on “Only Murders in the Building,” but he’s also deeply proud of “the reputation it has as a workplace in New York. It is a very loose set, and one of the reasons is because Steve and Selena and I all work the exact same way, screwing around, getting the crew to laugh. Everyone is laughing, and… action! Oh a, screw up, laughing. That kind of joie de vivre is what permeates the set, and I think that is translates a little bit to the camera as well.”

Although he’s known mostly for his comedic roles, Short also has made waves by taking dramatic parts in series like “The Morning Show” and “Damages.” “If someone writes you a great role that’s dramatic, you don’t say, ‘no, I only do comedy,’” he says. “I kind of do something that seems exciting and intriguing and risky.”

How is Martin Short's Match Game? – reality blurred

Most recently, that meant taking on the job of game show host on ABC’s “Match Game” this summer. He says he was drawn to the challenge: “You don’t know what you’re doing, but you know it’s always intriguing to try something new, and know that you could potentially massively fail,” he says. “It’s kind of exciting about that at this stage. Maybe not when I was 25.”

Was there ever an idea of Short hosting the show in character as his overly excited but often misinformed Hollywood entertainment reporter character Jiminy Glick? After all, “Match Game” is about saucy interactions with a panel of celebrities, and Glick is known for his irreverent interactions with stars.

“Actually, that was something floated,” Short reveals. “‘What if you did it as Jiminy Glick?’ The reality is, Mike Myers did a game show a few years ago in character [as ‘Tommy Maitland’ on ‘The Gong Show’]. So, I don’t know. That’s three hours of makeup. It seems like a good idea on paper.”

Short still enjoys popping up from time to time as Jiminy Glick — last year, he guest hosted “Jimmy Kimmel Live” in character. But he’s moved on from some of his other signature characters — including Ed Grimley.

“I think that someone like Ed Grimley was interesting because he was a grown man who still had the openness of a child, but at a certain point it looks like he’s a grown man with an illness,” Short says. “So, you don’t look at it in the present that way. But Glick can constantly be in the current, like a male Barbara Walters, or someone who just lasted decades.”

Martin Short and celebrities — Kevin Nealon, Selena Gomez, BD Wong, Anthony Anderson, Cara Delevingne, Ziwe - get BLANK on the season premiere of “Match Game”

Match Game is back! Martin Short delivered the laughs on an all-new season after four years off the air. The Only Murders in the Building star replaced Alex Baldwin, who hosted the game show from 2016 to 2021.

In the premiere episode, six celebrities tried to match four contestants with the same answers for them to win $25,000. Those celebrities were Selena Gomez, Cara Delevigne,  Kevin Nealon, Anthony Anderson, BD Wong, and Ziwe Fumudoh. Short has shared the screen with both Gomez and Delevigne in OMITB and Wong in Father of the Bride.

From the beginning, Short delivered the jokes, including riffing on himself for using Kris Jenner‘s plastic surgeon. “With us are the biggest stars in entertainment, and also, Anthony Anderson,” he joked.

Joy and Jordan, a drag queen from Montreal, Canada, were the contestants vying for money. Joy called Short a “cutie pie,” which made the host blush. Throughout the show, Short joked that he was “getting laid” when Joy kept delivering him compliments.

Short started off the game by cursing when he couldn’t get the card board to lower. “You son of a b***h. Look at that!” he said. He finally got it to go down, and Joy went first, picking the “A” envelope.

The first question was “Cara Delevigne is so ridiculously famous, and so are her eyebrows. They’re so famous, they’ve been seen walking the red carpet at ___.” Joy answered with “The Oscars.” She got two matches with Gomez and Nealon.

Jordan’s fill-in-the-blank question was “Chad said my safe word is ‘vanilla.’ The lady at the bank said, ‘Great. I’m happy for you, but all I need is your ___.” He answered with “ID.” Gomez and Nealon were matches again. Anderson also matched, giving Jordan three points.

During the second round, Short tried to press the button to open the board with the envelopes again, but he couldn’t. This time, he fell to the floor dramatically, which had everyone cracking up. Short finally got it after getting up off the floor.

Jordan’s second question was, “You always hear about people getting murdered on The White Lotus. That’s why I stay at the Jaleel White Lotus, where I get nerdy Urkel vibes and housekeeping always leaves ____ on your pillow.” His answer was glasses, which Short said was “Very clever.” He did not get any matches as they all said “chocolate.”

Joy’s next question was risque. “In throuple news, Adam and Eve are looking for a third. Applicants must be cool with nudity, heavy gardening, and blanks,” it read. Joy’s answer was snakes. Delevigne and Fumudoh were both matches, making Joy the winner with four.

For the Bonus Round, Joy had to fill-in-the-blank on “Just For ____.” She could pick three celebrities to help her with responses. Gomez picked “fun.” Nealson selected “laughs.” Fumudoh said “kicks.” Joy picked “laughs.” She won $2,000 since laughs was the third most popular answer. The other two answers were “You” and “fun.” She could multiply her total by five in a celebrity head-to-head match. She picked Gomez again. “Cat ___” was the blank. Joy said “Nip,” but Gomez said “Fish,” so she didn’t win $10,000.

The second game of the episode was played with the same celebrities, but different contestants. Kwame, an African market worker, and Missy, a preschool teacher and a senior citizen fitness instructor, were the two contestants.

This time around, Short had an easier time opening the board. Kwame went with B, which read, “Dr. Seuss wrote the children’s book, Oh, the Places You’ll Go!, but he also wrote a version for senior citizens titled, Oh, the Places You’ll ____.” Kwame’s answer was sleep. None of the celebrities matched him, with many of them writing “die.”

Missy’s question was “Sir Lancelot said, ‘I made the biggest mistake a knight could make, shopping a Temu. The last suit of armor I ordered was a knock-off of ____.” The contestant’s answer was “tinfoil.” Anderson and Wong both matched, giving Missy a score of two.

Short struggled once again with the envelopes, and this time the board went up as he fell to the floor, but he finally got it and was met with applause. “LGBTQ actor BD Wong was made an MD for the FBI on Law & Order: SVU. If he had anymore letters, we could call him a ___.” Missy’s answer was “doctor.” She did not get any matches, with two of the celebrities saying “alphabet.”

Kwame’s second fill-in-the-blank was “I once had a dentist named Ruth, always drunk on gin and vermouth. She revved up the drill, said, ‘Lie back and sit still.’ Then, board a hole in my ___, not my tooth.” As the celebrities took a while to give their answers, Short joked that they were “lost” and he believed that they didn’t think they were still playing the game. Kwame answered with “butt.” None of the celebrities matched him, so Missy won with two points.

For Super Match, Missy had to fill in the blank on “That’s So ____.” To help her, Nealon said “cool.” Anderson’s response was “Raven.” Wong picked “fly.” Missy picked “Raven.” She won $5,000 when her answer matched the top one. The other two were “fetch” and “funny.” For the head-to-head, Missy picked Anderson again.

The clue was “___ wash.” Missy won $25,000 after she said “car” and matched with the Black-ish star. Tune in next week to see six new stars help four contestants win money.

Hollywood sex therapist Harwick is believed to have been thrown over a balcony by an ex-boyfriend, Gareth Pursehouse, 41, who was charged with murder and residential burglary last Wednesday.

Speaking of his relationship with Harwick, Carey, 61, said on Friday’s show: “Back in September 2018, I was in a beautiful, great, best relationship of my life with a woman named Amie Harwick.

“She was a sex therapist and mental health advocate. She had a PhD and a master’s degree, and she was beautiful and fun, and cared deeply about people and improving their lives and was just a joy to be around.

“I was so in love with her.”

Carey and Harwick, 38, ended their engagement in 2018, but even after they broke up, Carey said, the pair still “loved each other very much.”

During the segment Carey explained how he would send Harwick the set lists for his show, and one week he even made a set that was especially for her.

    EMOTIONAL SET LIST

Carey, who is also the host of The Price Is Right, said: “This one week, I said, ‘Hey I made a set for you.’ And she said, ‘Oh really?’ And I said, ‘Yeah.’

“I played it for her and she teared up.

“We would sing the words in each other’s ears.

“We would hold each other and dance in the kitchen to it and slow dance in the bathroom to it, and the office, living room or where we were.

“I would hold her and we would hold hands in the car and listen to it.

“We would sing to each other.

“All these songs were so important to us and I want to play them for you, so you can hear how much we loved each other through these songs.”

Carey opted to play a sentimental set during Friday’s show, saying that he could “never hear these songs again without thinking of her.”

The host went on to add that he would be taking a couple of weeks off work because he feels in “no position to work or entertain anybody right now.”

Since Harwick’s death, friends have expressed their previous fears over the sex therapist’s ex-boyfriend.

Police confirmed that Hawick, a specialist in family and sex counseling, had filed a restraining order against Pursehouse, but the restraining order had expired.

LAPD also confirmed Harwick had seen the man two weeks before her death.

According to reports, autopsy results showed the primary cause of Harwick’s death was blunt force injuries to the head and torso from a fall after an altercation.

There was also evidence of manual strangulation, the report said.

Harwick was found unresponsive beneath a third-story balcony at her home, Los Angeles Police Department said in a statement, adding her injuries were consistent with a fall.

She was taken to hospital, where she then died.

Pursehouse’s arraignment has been scheduled for March 4.

‘The Price Is Right’ Plinko Nightmare Costs Player $50,000 – See Drew Carey React

Price is Right Drew Carey and Plinko contestant
    Price is Right Instagram

A contestant on Wednesday’s (November 13) episode of The Price is Right had an absolute nightmare experience playing Plinko as she landed on FOUR zeroes in a row.

The player in question was Kelly LeBlanc, who made her way up from Contestant’s Row to the main stage. LeBlanc had a chance to play Plinko, the most popular game in the history of The Price is Right. There was a possible jackpot of $50,000 up for grabs.

For those unfamiliar, Plinko involves dropping a flat disc down the Plinko board in hopes of landing in one of the money slots at the bottom. The contestant is given one disc to start and can earn up to four more by guessing the price of four small prizes.

LeBlanc had to guess the correct digit in four different items from their two-digit prices; this included an 8-piece gardening set, a 17 oz water bottle, a fruit and veggie peeler, and a steam iron. She nailed each one, giving her five discs to play with on the Plinko board.

With encouragement from host Drew Carey, LeBlanc made her way to the top of the board and dropped her first disc. The nine slots (in order) include the values of $100, $500, $1,000, $0, and $10,000. That meant if LeBlanc could land each of her five discs in the $10,000 slot, she’d walk away with $50,000.

Unfortunately, her first disc landed in the zero slot. “Just forget that ever happened,” Carey said. “That was close.”

LeBlanc then dropped her second disc and once again landed in the zero slot. “Come on, y’all, give me some good luck,” she called to the studio audience.

After dropping her third disc and landing in the zero slot again, LeBlanc looked absolutely shocked. “What in the heck?” Carey said. “Three zeroes in a row!”

Unbelievably, LeBlanc’s fourth disc also landed in the zero slot. She hung her head in disbelief and said, “What is going on?!”

Thankfully, LeBlanc’s final disc landed in the $1,000 slot, meaning she didn’t walk away empty-handed, even if it wasn’t the $50,000 she could have had with some better luck.

“Thank god! A thousand bucks!” Carey stated before telling LeBlanc, “Don’t leave the house without an umbrella today.”

Fans couldn’t believe LeBlanc’s bad luck and took to social media to share their reactions.

“Man I felt bad for her!! 4 straight zeros,” wrote one Instagram user.

“This was tough to watch. She had all those chips, and hit zero for times in a row. I’m glad she ended up with something. Never seen it and like that,” said another.

Another added, “I have never in my life seen anyone get so many zeros on Plinko.”

Others said LeBlanc didn’t have the best technique, with one viewer on Reddit writing, “If she would have tried putting the chips IN THE MIDDLE, she might have had better luck.”

“Seriously! Like even if you don’t know the math backs that up how is it just not common sense to do that?” replied another.

“That was not the best technique – Drew once said in an interview he thought putting the chip between the N & K were the best odds,” said another fan on Instagram.

While some fans suggested dropping down the middle is the best way to win Plinko, it didn’t help a contestant last month. In fact, Carey told the contestant to drop from the middle and it ended up backfiring big time.

Jeopardy! Shake-Up: Ken Jennings Quietly Confirms Major Update Fans Didn’t See Coming

Jeopardy! host Ken Jennings reveals major show update in off-camera admission

Jeopardy! host Ken Jennings just dropped some exciting news with an off-camera admission that’s bound to thrill fans.

The trivia champ, 50, revealed that for the first time in the show’s history, Jeopardy! is finally heading to streaming platforms, according to a source for The U.S. Sun.

When asked during a recent taping when all 41 seasons of the Emmy-winning series would hit a major platform, Jennings reportedly replied, ‘It is happening, indeed,’ and confirmed ‘early 2025’ is the target.

While he hinted that Jeopardy! will ‘most likely’ land on Hulu or Amazon Prime, the iconic quiz show’s streaming debut isn’t the only thing cooking.

The franchise is also rolling out Pop Culture Jeopardy!, a new spinoff set to stream exclusively on Amazon Prime Video—proof that Jeopardy! is officially stepping into the digital spotlight.

Pop Culture Jeopardy! marks a first in Jeopardy! history—created exclusively for a top 5 streaming service, it’s set to debut on Amazon Prime Video.

Premiering Wednesday, December 4, Pop Culture Jeopardy! will bring the game to Hollywood turf, hosted by none other than SNL’s Weekend Update anchor, Colin Jost.

The series, announced in May and filming since August, is finally ready for its star-studded debut.

This is just one of the big changes hitting the Jeopardy! world this year.

Early last month, news broke that the iconic set is getting a high-tech makeover.

Say goodbye to the individual contestant monitors and hello to a sleek electronic screen—à la Wheel of Fortune’s upgraded puzzle board.

The streaming announcement comes amid buzz that Jeopardy! host Ken Jennings might be on the chopping block for an unexpected reason, per sources cited by The Mirror.

According to insider talk, Jeopardy! producers are reportedly weighing their options, unsure if they’ll stick with Jennings.

One factor? Ratings. Since Ryan Seacrest took over Wheel of Fortune from Pat Sajak last month, viewership has surged—a trend Jeopardy! execs are definitely noting.

Speculation also swirls around SNL’s Colin Jost, who could potentially step in as the main Jeopardy! host.

A Sony insider even hinted to The Sun in August that it’s ‘not unreasonable’ to think Jost—husband to Scarlett Johansson and host of Pop Culture Jeopardy!—could land the flagship gig if his new series proves a hit.

Jennings, the show’s GOAT contestant and solo host since early 2024, took the reins full-time after Mayim Bialik’s exit in December 2023.

But while change could be on the table, sources say Jennings shouldn’t panic just yet.

As one insider explained, ‘The only real reason to replace Ken is if the ratings took a nosedive, and that hasn’t happened yet.’

Reba McEntire’s Surprise Song on ‘The Voice’ Sends Fans Into a Frenzy—A Legendary Moment

Reba McEntire Surprise-Sang “Why Haven’t I Heard From You” on The Voice

After decades in the entertainment business, the Queen of Country knows how to work a room.

Coach Reba McEntire is indisputably one of the greatest entertainers in the history of country music, and she’s got the trophy case to prove it. The winner of Grammys, ACM Awards, CMA Awards, and so much more, the Queen of Country has also spent years successfully touring the world singing her hits, playing to massive crowds.

But it’s not just the huge stadiums. As she’s proven time and time again in her two seasons as Coach Reba on The Voice so far, McEntire knows how to work a small room too, playing to the show’s studio audience as often as possible. This week, she proved it all over again by leading the crowd in a singalong on Monday night’s show.

Though the contestants become stars in their own right over the course of the season, the constants on The Voice each episode, aside from Host Carson Daly, are the Coaches at the center of the room, and that’s particularly true during the Blind Auditions. These early episodes are parades of new talent coming in and out of the room, drawing all kinds of reactions from the crowd, but in the moments between those auditions, it’s up to the Coaches to keep the energy in the room up through banter, jokes, props, and yes, singing. We see several choreographed live performances from Coaches and special guests during each season of The Voice, but sometimes things just happen spontaneously, and that’s what Episode 3 brought.

Walking back and forth across the stage in between auditions, Coach Reba began to lead the studio audience in her 1994 hit “Why Haven’t I Heard From You,” one of her most enduring country tunes from the triple platinum album, Read My Mind. The audience was more than happy to play along, even doing call and response with the country legend from different sides of the stage.

It was entertaining enough that it could very well have stopped the show entirely, leaving Reba and her fans to sing all night.

For more Reba McEntire fun, keep watching The Voice, Mondays at 8/7c and Tuesdays at 9/8c on NBC, and streaming next day on Peacock.

  • Trouble Among Friends? Blake Shelton Reportedly at Odds With Kelly Clarkson and Reba McEntire

Trouble Among Friends? Blake Shelton Reportedly at Odds With Kelly Clarkson and Reba McEntire

Blake Shelton May Have Irked Friends Kelly Clarkson & Reba McEntire With This Surprising Move

Blake Shelton latest gig moonlighting as a wedding officiant might not go over well with his fellow The Voice judges, Kelly Clarkson and Reba McEntire.

According to photos obtained by The Sun, Shelton, 47, acted as the officiant as his manager, Narvel Blackstock, tied the knot to Laura Stroud in Nashville, Tennesse over the weekend. If Blackstock’s name sounds familiar, that is because he was once married to McEntire and is currently locked in a legal battle with former daughter-in-law, Clarkson.

Blackstock is the father of Clarkson’s ex-husband, Brandon Blackstock, and was married to McEntire from 1989 to 2015. To add insult to injury, some reports allege that his new bride, Stroud, was formerly friends with his country singer ex-wife.

Just this week, Blackstock’s son submitted court documents firing back at a lawsuit taken by Clarkson. After ending their seven-year marriage in 2020, Clarkson alleged that Narvel and Brandon Blackstock’s Starstruck Management owe her over $2 million after unlawfully procuring deals for her, violating state labor laws. In the Blackstocks’ latest response, Starstruck Management denied “each and every allegation” made by the popstar, who shares two children with Brandon.

McEntire and Blackstock’s lengthy marriage was called off in 2015 with the singer’s ex, who also acted as her manager, walking away with $47.5 million. The couple share one son, Shelby, who was in attendance at his father’s wedding.

Shelton and Clarkson’s friendship was evident during the time acting as judges on The Voice but McEntire and Shelton’s relationship goes back even further. The country music stars have been friends for over 20 years, which is presumably connected to Shelton’s professional relationship with Blackstock.

McEntire even joined Shelton as a mentor on several seasons of The Voice before eventually taking his chair in the judges section when he left the show in 2023. “It’s been a friendship from the very beginning,” McEntire said of Shelton during an interview with NBC in 2023. “We’re both from Oklahoma like an hour apart from where we grew up. We work together. We have fun together and gone on vacations together, so it’s just too much fun.”

However, Shelton has also retained a friendship with Blackstock in the years since the couple’s divorce and most recently praised him during a speech at his 2023 Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony. “If there’s one person that I probably need to thank more than anybody from a career standpoint, Narvel Blackstock literally changed my life,” he said.
