Reba McEntire and her boyfriend Rex Linn are taking part in the viral “Better Be Nice” trend on social media to announce exciting news: the second season of their hit sitcom, Happy’s Place.

In the clip, Reba introduces rex and allows him to deliver the news.

“This is my boyfriend,” she says. “He’s gonna tell you about the second season of Happy’s Place. You better listen and be nice.”

Rex steps into focus and says, “Hello everybody. This is Rex Linn. I play Emmett on Happy’s Place. Coming this fall, our second season… We’re so happy about it. Our reviews are good. Ratings are great. People are watching. It’s going to be so much fun.”

Then, he teases the plot of the second season, hinting that their characters, Bobbie and Emmett, might find a romantic connection in the new season.

“And there’s rumors that maybe Emmett and Bobbie get together. I mean, we don’t know that for a fact, but it would be great for Bobbie,” he jokes. “I mean, if she was with Emmett. I mean, that’s how I look at it.”

All jokes aside, Rex told fans to “stay tuned” for the upcoming season.

“Late this fall, we’re coming back. Season two, baby, of Happy’s Place and do not miss it or I’ll come after you with my spatula,” he said.

Earlier this week, NBC confirmed the return of Happy’s Place, starring Reba and Rex alongside Belissa Escobedo, Melissa Peterman, Pablo Castelblanco, and Tokala Black Elk. The fan-favorite show will return on November 7.

The show follows Bobbie (Reba), who inherits her father’s tavern, Happy’s Place, and is shocked to learn she has a new business partner, Isabella (Escobedo), her twentysomething half-sister she never knew existed.

She also delivers the theme song for Happy’s Place, which she co-wrote with  with Doug Sisemore and her longtime friend Carole King.

“I hope my fans will love this song as much as they did the theme song for the ‘Reba’ show,” she shared upon the unveiling of the song.

Multiple stars of “The Voice,” including coach Reba McEntire, are mourning the death of country music icon Jeannie Sealy at age 85. Sealy, who won a Grammy for her 1966 song “Don’t Touch Me,” was a legend at Nashville’s Grand Ole Opry, where she performed more than any other artist in history, the venue revealed on August 1, 2025.

“It is with a heavy heart we say goodbye to a true icon to us here the Opry, Mrs. Jeannie Seely,” the Opry wrote in an online tribute to the singer. “Jeannie is the definition of a mentor and dear friend to many in the country music community.”

McEntire was among many country artists and “The Voice” stars who have paid tribute to Sealy in the days since her death. In an Instagram post on August 1, McEntire shared a photo of herself with Sealy and fellow country icon Dolly Parton, and wrote, “I’ve always loved this woman! She was a little spitfire, opinionated team player! Rest in peace, Jeannie”

Parton, who served as an advisor on “The Voice” in 2015 and 2016, also paid tribute to Sealy on social media, calling her one of her “dearest friends.”

Parton wrote, “I have known Jeannie Seely since we were early on in Nashville. She was one of my dearest friends. I think she was one of the greater singers in Nashville and she had a wonderful sense of humor. We had many wonderful laughs together, cried over certain things together and she will be missed.”

Season 22 winner of “The Voice” Bryce Leatherwood also paid tribute in his Instagram Stories with two photos of Sealy, including one of them together, and wrote, “Rest in Peace…from the first time I met Jeannie at the Bluebird Cafe, she said ‘we have to get you to the Opry…I just love that voice.’ She was one of a kind and such a sweet soul. Condolences to her family and friends.”

Leatherwood also commented on the Opry’s announcement of Sealy’s passing, “She was so kind to me … so sad to hear this. RIP”

    Who Was Jeannie Sealy?

Sealy died on August 1 at Summit Medical Center near Nashville due to complications from an intestinal infection, according to Billboard. Her health had been failing since the fall of 2024, the outlet reported, including multiple back surgeries and two emergency abdominal surgeries.

Many who paid tribute to Sealy called her a trailblazer and a “fierce advocate for women artists and performers.” Her career began at age 11, appearing on a local radio station in Pennsylvania, and then performing regularly on a local weekend TV show there by age 16.

After moving to California, per Billboard, she made her name as a songwriter, earned a record deal, and appeared with Glen Campbell on the TV show “Hollywood Jamboree.” In 1964, the Country and Western Academy — now known as the Academy of Country Music — named her “the most promising female artist.”

After moving to Nashville, Sealy was inducted into the Grand Ole Opry in September 1967 and became the first woman to regularly host Opry segments, per Billboard. Her final performance was on February 22 — her 5,397th appearance on the Opry stage.

“The Price Is Right” Devoted viewers are in an uproar following a controversial moment that left contestants and audiences stunned. The uproar has led to an unprecedented fan movement, with many calling for a permanent end to one of the show’s most iconic segments. The incident has sent shockwaves through the show’s community.

In a stunning turn of events, loyal fans of the beloved game show “The Price Is Right” are calling for the removal of a popular game after witnessing an unexpected incident that left audiences in disbelief. This shocking behavior has sparked widespread outrage and debate among viewers nationwide!

‘The Price Is Right’ Fans Demand Removal of Game That’s ‘Too Hard’ & ‘Not Fun’

Every episode of The Price is Right features an undisclosed assortment of games, and that variety is part of the appeal. But fans are offering their two cents about the “3 Strikes” game, which they claim is “not fun” after 14 players lost consecutively with no winner in a staggering three years.

For those unfamiliar, “3 Strikes” is a pricing game that debuted on TPIR on February 12, 1976. In it, contestants can win a brand-new luxury car by correctly guessing its price. The contestant is shown eight baseballs: five white ones with non-repeating numbers on them, each representing one of the five numbers in the car’s price. There are also three red “strike” balls with an X on them.

After all eight balls are shuffled into a rotating drum, the contestant blindly draws a ball from the bag. If they pick a numbered ball, they must correctly put it in the right position of the car’s total price. If they’re right, the ball is discarded, and the digit is lit up in the price display. But if they’re wrong, the ball goes back into rotation. However, if the contestant draws a red ball with a strike, a foghorn sounds instead, and an X marker is lit on the board before the ball is discarded. If the contestant draws three strike balls, the game ends.

On Monday, November 18’s episode a player bombed out with zero correct guesses and gave a big thumbs down mid-way (above) looking frustrated. She sarcastically told Drew Carey, “I love your positivity!” as she floundered. After she lost, Carey exclaimed, “That was a rough one” and the audience fell silent.

After it aired, a fan started a discussion in the TPIR Reddit forum, arguing that the segment is “too hard” and others agreed.

“3 Strikes is not a fun game,” the fan titled the post. The user continued, “Every time the contestant pulls a strike Drew says it’s good because there’s one less strike to worry about. That’s specious reasoning and it annoys me so much. Today the contestant even said ‘I love your positivity’ to Drew. I like to think she meant it sarcastically. This game is just way too hard. Sure, it’s played for a very expensive car, but the odds are so low and it’s based mostly on luck. I get annoyed every time it’s played. Does anyone know the winning statistics on this game?”

Another fan replied, “I don’t have the exact stats but there was a period of time where someone only won once in 6 years during a particularly bad drought. I can also say that, even if you play perfectly and guess all 5 digits correctly as you pull them out, your odds of winning that game are 37.5%. So even a perfect play will only win 1/3 of the time. I put ‘3 Strikes,’ ‘That’s Too Much’, and the dollar game in the same grouping as barely winnable games. At least 3 Strikes is always for an expensive vehicle, I guess.”

“I legitimately can’t remember the last time I saw a player get more than 1, maybe 2 numbers before striking out so I’m not a fan of this game either lol,” wrote a third.

“Not much of a spoiler but surprise, she got zero numbers,” wrote a fourth about Monday’s episode.

“As soon as I saw that game, I knew she would lose,” wrote a fifth. “It’s the “F*** you contestant, you’re not getting a car” game.

“I despise 3 strikes. Way too much luck involved,” wrote a sixth.

“It would be nice to be able to buy another chance with a pricing game after 2 strikes and call it a “foul tip” with a successful price,” wrote a seventh.

“And it takes forever to lose. Just a long, annoying, slim chance to win game,” wrote an additional fan.

“The last time we had a win was January 18, 2021 where a Range Rover was won,” observed one more. We currently went through 14 playings without a winner.” According to TPIR Fandom, there hasn’t been a winner since January 2021.

What do you think of “3 Strikes?” Should TPIR bench it for good? let us know in the comments section!

‘Who Wants to Be a Millionaire’s Most Controversial Move Just Ruined One of the Greatest Game Shows

Promotional picture for 'Who Wants To Be a Millionaire?' featuring Jimmy Kimmel

Who Wants to Be a Millionaire was better when the contestants were everyday people looking to change their lives, rather than celebrity contestants competing for charity. Jimmy Kimmel‘s reboot of the fan-favorite game show series looks quite a bit different from its original iteration. The two-part Season 4 premiere featured trivia king Ken Jennings and Kimmel’s nemesis, actor and philanthropist, Matt Damon, and soared to the top of ABC’s ratings.

However, the change from using everyday competitors to bringing in celebrity contestants isn’t simply surface level, but it affects the viewing experience. Despite bringing in massive viewership, the Season 4 premiere also highlighted the fact that the series was more exciting when the competitors were everyday people trying to earn the top prize.

‘Who Wants to Be a Millionaire’ Was Better Without Celebrity Contestants

As Jennings quickly deduced the answer to the final question that would earn him and Damon the million-dollar top-prize for water.org, Kimmel observed with his typical wry timbre: “I have to say, this is the least dramatic million-dollar moment in Who Wants to be a Millionaire history, because that is absolutely right.” Amid the celebration onstage, where Damon excitedly pointed out his charity can now assist over 200,000 people access clean drinking water, the moment rang slightly hollow as Kimmel’s comment reverberated. Compared to other million-dollar moments in the series’ history, it did feel anti-climactic, and not just because Jennings was so quick to answer. The million-dollar moment going to a well-known celebrity, even if it is for an excellent charitable cause, doesn’t hit home the same way as when an everyday contestant wins the life-changing amount of money.

By swapping out the regular contestants — everyday people hoping to change their circumstances — for celebrities competing for charity, the suspense is considerably lessened. While giant corporations giving back to charitable organizations is always a good idea, in this case, it completely changes the dynamic of the series. Even the title no longer truly makes sense, since the competitor is no longer an individual hoping to become a “millionaire,” but rather two celebrities competing for the charities of their choice. The basic gameplay may be the same, but the change in competitors has taken the heart out of the viewing experience.

The Heart of ‘Who Wants to Be a Millionaire’ Was Everyday People Changing Their Lives

Regis reaching over to hold a male contestant's hand in Who Wants to be a Millionaire?

While the gameplay in the new iteration is similar to the original game, the stakes are significantly lowered, and the celebrities are there to promote themselves as well as their charities. All of this results in a watered-down viewing experience, since the name of the game, someone hoping to become a millionaire based on their trivia knowledge, is no longer at stake.

Even the plot of the beloved film that features the Millionaire franchise, Slumdog Millionaire, understood that the greatest feature of the game show was the opportunity for everyday individuals to elevate their lives. The heart of the series was the moment when a contestant realized they were earning a life-changing amount of money, and with celebrity contestants, that quality has been lost.

Furthermore, when there are too many comedians in the room, Kimmel’s banter with contestants can escalate beyond the moment, drawing out the filler time between gameplay and watering down the viewing experience. If this were Who Wants To Be a Millionaire: Celebrity Takeover, a supplementary addition to the franchise, there would be nothing to complain about.

But without the presence of everyday competitors looking to earn the top prize, the series has lost its soulMillionaire earned top spot in ratings for ABC with its premiere, but they won’t be able to walk out celebrities of Matt Damon’s caliber each week. It seems like the network will have to keep pulling out the stops if they want the celebrity-led game show to continue holding audience interest and earning them that top spot.

Matt Damon and Ken Jennings won big earlier this week on ABC’s “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?” — and it turns out, so did the show. “Millionaire,” hosted by Jimmy Kimmel, was up week-to-week in total viewers, to 4.46 million (up 5% from last week’s season premiere of 4.24 million).

That made it the most-watched episode of “Millionaire” in five years — since 6.52 million on June 4, 2020 (during the first season that Kimmel took over as host).

Ken Jennings Shares Whether 'Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?' or 'Jeopardy!' Is Harder

On Wednesday’s episode, Damon and Jennings won the $1 million prize in support of Damon’s charity Water.org, which is focused on universal access to clean water. They won with the question “Which of these words is used to describe one of the most beautiful auditory effects on Earth, the sound made by the leaves of trees when wind blows through them?” The correct answer, which Jennings knew, was “susurrus.”

The solid showing made “Who Wants To Be A Millionaire” the top program of the night for the second week in a row; “Millionaire” also maintained its same adults 18-49 rating (0.38) from its season premiere the previous week.

“Who Wants To Be A Millionaire” was ahead of the night’s No. 2 broadcast program, CBS’s “Big Brother” (3.02 million), by 48% (3.02 million). ABC won the night among broadcast networks in total viewers (2.86 million).

JEOPARDY! fans have vowed to boycott the series over a ‘disappointing’ change to the summer schedule ahead of the new season.

To hold viewers over, fans have been looking forward to the summer rerun schedule.

But viewers aren’t thrilled by the episodes chosen, as they include the 2025 Tournament of Champions weeks one to three and Jeopardy! Invitational Tournament weeks one to three.

One viewer fired over social media, “What’s with all the tournaments?”

A second wrote referring to late host Alex Trebek, “What I would like to see is some reruns from years past with Alex!”

A third commented, “How about some old Art Fleming re-runs from 1964- 1975. Interesting would be if available.”

A fourth wrote, “I think I’ll just wait until the season starts…”

A fifth said, “I have seen every single regular episode and all types of tournament episodes; I’m just going to wait for the next season to start.”

The game show made a break from tradition, as for the first time in years the schedule includes the Season 41 finale to air on September 5, giving fans a refresher of the finale episode.

One fan wrote, “Do they usually show the final episode of the previous season before the new season starts? I don’t remember that happening in the past. It’s a good idea.”

A second said, “This is probably a special case. The season ended with a bang.”

Jeopardy! champ Scott Riccardi scores highest game winnings in two years after risky final wager results in big pay off

    EXCITING FINALE

Fans are referring to Scott Riccardi’s 16-day winning streak coming to an end in a shocking upset on the season 41 finale.

The trivia wiz accumulated nearly $500k over his impressive run.

Scott was looking to continue his successful streak on the finale – which has landed him in the Jeopardy! record books.

Winning 16 games is the most consecutive games won by a contestant since 2022.

It also ties for 10th place in overall longest winning streaks ever in Jeopardy! history, alongside Ryan Long, who played in 2022.

Of course, the player who holds the title for most consecutive games won is host Ken Jennings, who went on an unbeatable 74-game streak back in 2004.

    OUT WITH A BANG

On Friday’s season 41 finale, Scott, went up against Jonathan Hugendubler, an adjunct professor and trivia host from Baltimore, Maryland, and Charlotte Cooper, a graphic designer from San Francisco, California.

Scott was off to a quick lead early on in the game.

By the time the trio of players entered the Double Jeopardy! round, Scott secured a good lead with $10,800.

Charlotte was in a distant second with $3,000 while Jonathan stayed in third place with just $800.

Jonathan began to gain momentum when he added $2,000 to his score when correctly guessing the second Daily Double under the “Stately Bodies of Water” category.

He continued that success by finding the third Daily Double – which ultimately drastically changed the course of the game.

The newcomer correctly guessed the clue under the “They’re All Greeks to Me” category – doubling his score to $8,800.

However, he was still behind Scott, but only slightly, as the New Jersey engineer was at $10,800 at that point in the game.

Going into Final Jeopardy!, Scott was able to maintain his lead with $23,600.

    Jeopardy! Set Secrets

Jeopardy! fans don’t see everything behind the scenes from watching on TV. These hidden set features make the show run smoothly:

Each podium has a hidden riser so that all contestants appear to be the same height.
After each clue is read, signal lights go off around the game board, indicating players can buzz in and respond.
Buzz in too early, and you’re locked out for .25 seconds.
The podiums have a small white light in the lower left corner, which tells Ken Jennings who goes next.
Contrary to popular belief, the player with control doesn’t have a buzzer advantage on the next clue.
To the game board’s left is a scoreboard so the players can see their opponents’ scores.
All contestants must bring three outfits to the studio, but only the host and returning champion change for the next episode.
There are wardrobe rules, including restrictions on busy patterns, solid white, purple (like the background), and logos.
Five episodes are taped in a single day, and sometimes more.
The categories, players (aside from the returning champion), and Final Jeopardy! for a tape day are all drawn randomly to ensure fairness.
Female contestants are asked not to wear makeup, which is applied backstage, and don’t wear mascara because of sweat.
Contestants fill out a questionnaire, and producers select five Q&A topics for the host.
Host Ken isn’t allowed to interact with the contestants until after the game.
Players can request to sit in a chair while competing without question.

    RISKY BUSINESS

While Jonathan made up for a lot, he was still in second with $14,000, while Charlotte stayed in second with $7,800.

Host Ken, 51, then introduced the final category as 20th Century Names and read the clue, “According to one obituary, in 1935 he owned 13 magazines, 8 radio stations, 2 movie companies, and $56 million in real estate.”

Both Jonathan and Charlotte were correct in answering “Who was Hearst?” – giving Charlotte $15,600 to end the game in third place.

The correct answer boosted Jonathan up to $23,601 – leaving the fate of the game up to Scott’s wager on his wrong response.

Unfortunately for Scott, he wagered too much and dropped down to second with $18,600.

You just have to cross through a little breezeway, and then you’re in. You’re on Wheel’s stage. And I have hung out with both of them,” Jennings shared.

He went on to explain that the two shows shared crew, so they generally don’t tape at the same time. “But occasionally, Vanna is there to record something extra, she’ll come by and say hi, because we have the same stylist who does our hair, who does my hair, has done Vanna’s hair for years, and they’re good friends, and she is just the most delightful person, so sweet, unchanged by her decades of being a TV legend. She is the best,” Jennings added.

Speaking about Seacrest taking over as the host of the show, Jennings praised him. “Boy, he has just made that transition seamlessly. It’s almost frustrating to see. I was there on the lot working the first day he came to tape the show. I was kind of watching a live feed, and I was just thinking, ‘Wow, this guy is so good on day one.’ It’s not fair,” he said.

He went on to compliment Seacrest’s talent and admitted that he was happy that he never came after his job on “Jeopardy!”. “The kind of TV talent that guy has. He’s been in the business for a long time, a total professional. There is no show, no format, I think, that would rattle Ryan Seacrest, so I’m very glad he has not expressed any interest in Jeopardy!” Jennings stated.

While there have been reports on the competitive ratings of the two shows, it seems like the hosts get along well. At a previous taping, The U.S. Sun reported that Ken didn’t worry about “Wheel of Fortune” beating his show in the ratings either.

An insider told the publication that Jennings even joked with his live audience by asking them if anyone wished they had sat in the audience for the sister show. “The crowd erupted in laughter and seemed to appreciate him making fun of the rivalry and not taking it so seriously,” the source said.

Vanna White has been a staple in most American households for over 40 years. She is the hostess and letter turner on Wheel of Fortune and admitted that she once considered hanging it up.

As a Forbes 50 Over 50 listee, Vanna White, 68, talked to the outlet about her time on the game show, how she considered retirement when Pat Sajak left, and the reason she does her job.

She has a call time of 7 a.m. every filming day, where she has 30 outfits waiting for her to try on. White has two hours to pick which one she wants to wear until she is whisked away to hair and makeup. After she’s all dolled up, she takes some time out to do interviews and press before filming the first three episodes at 11:30.

Everyone on set takes a lunch break, and then the last three episodes are filmed and wrap up typically around 6 p.m., when everyone goes home. White shared that the schedulew almost never veers off course, except for the occasional board or wheel malfunction. “They have it so precise after all these years,” she told Forbes.

Although fans tell her all the time that she is a big part of their daily lives, White considered stepping away from her role.  “People tell me all the time, ‘I grew up watching you. My parents grew up watching you.’ It’s just an awesome thing,” she said.

“I thought I would step away with Pat [in 2024]. My thought was, how am I going to continue working with a new person? It’s a scary thought to bring somebody new in. And then I thought to myself, Am I ready to retire? And the answer was, in my heart, no. I still love what I do.”

White and Pat Sajak hosted one more season of Celebrity Wheel of Fortune together before Sajak retired for good. Ryan Seacrest stepped into the role in Season 42 and will continue to host the syndicated show, as well as the celebrity version, with White.

With Sajak gone, Vanna White negotiated her contract for the following season. She struck a reported two-year, $10 million deal while only filming 34 days out of the year. This was her first pay raise in nearly 20 years, having made $3 million with Sajak, which was a fraction of what he earned.

Although she didn’t get into much details with Forbes, White shared that she only has a contract with Wheel of Fortune “for this next year.” As for what happens after that, she said, “We’ll go from there.”

When Forbes asked her who she would like to take over her role someday, White said she’s not sure, and admitted it should be up to the audience. However, she does have advice for whoever would take her role. “Be yourself, and know the entire alphabet!” she said.

“As times change, so does fashion and hair and all that stuff,” she told the outlet. “But I’m still doing what I did the first day I started. I’m on TV as myself. I’m not playing another person. And I might not talk that much, but I’m hoping I can give a good feeling to people out there. That’s my whole reason for doing this job.”

The Price Is Right aired a special July 4 episode dedicated to first responders to the California wildfires of 2025. That was the last episode for a while from the beloved game show, which is also daytime TV’s top-rated daytime series. So, when will one of audience’s favorite games return with new episodes?

It was a milestone year for the hit series as it celebrated the 10,000th episode of The Price Is Right on February 26, 2025, on CBS. It was part of The Price Is Right Season 53, which premiered on September 23, 2024, and continued through June 27, with the July 4 bonus episode tacked onto the end of the season last week. The show is now on a summer vacation, but it will come back later this year.

Given that episodes air daily on CBS, expect a Monday premiere date for its return. We’d predict that Season 54 will kick off on either Monday, September 22, or Monday, September 29.
