Happy’s Place Cast Update Sets Up A Major Reba Reunion, 18 Years After The Comedy Series Ended

The new cast update for Happy’s Place confirms a Reba reunion. The new 2024 comedy series follows Bobbie (Reba McEntire), a woman who unexpectedly finds herself partnering with her lost half-sister, Isabella (Belissa Escobedo), in running her late father’s tavern. Since its release in October 2024, Happy’s Place has earned mostly positive reviews and solid viewer retention. On top of that, McEntire has already reunited with several Reba cast members, and now it appears that list will grow.

Now, Variety reported that Christopher Rich and Justina Machado will have guest roles in Happy’s Place. This casting news marks a Reba reunion between McEntire and Rich, who portrayed the role of Brock Hart, the ex-husband in the 2007 sitcom.

In Happy’s Place, Rich will portray Maverick, a funny tattoo artist who can only do tattoos with his right hand due to a stroke. On the other hand, Machado, known for her roles in Jane the Virgin, One Day at a Time, and Queen of the South, plays Maritza, Isabella’s mother and a successful lawyer.

What This Means for Happy’s Place and Its Characters

Happy’s Place Is Tapping Into Recognizable Talent

Rich and Machado’s casting reaffirms Happy’s Place’s commitment to tapping into familiar and veteran talent. Rich and McEntire’s reunion is clearly not the first, as the series has already brought many familiar Reba cast members to the spotlight, including Melissa Peterman and Steve Howey.

While Howey has just a guest role as Danny, Peterman portrays the main character, Gabby, a bartender who helps Bobby at the tavern. However, Rich is major since this would mark his reunion with McEntire after the 2001 comedy series ended 18 years ago.

Bobbie, Gracie, and Isabelle posing for a photo in Happy's Place season 1, episode 10

On the other hand, Machado’s involvement enriches Happy’s Place’s ensemble with a new character who brings depth, strength, and a no-nonsense attitude.

With the key premise focused on Bobby learning about her lost half-sister, the introduction of Isabella’s mother could establish more details about the relationship between her and Happy. However, it’s uncertain when either Machado or Rich will make their guest appearances.

Our Take on Happy’s Place’s Guest Star Announcement

New Characters Promise New Relationships & Dynamics

Melissa Peterman as Gabby and Reba McEntire as Bobbie hugging in Happy's Place

Bringing Rich and Machado into Happy’s Place further strengthens the show’s character-driven approach. Rich’s appearance provides a nostalgic nod to their time on Reba together, while Machado adds a revived dynamic to the series, particularly how it will impact Isabella and Bobbie.

These additions demonstrate the sitcom’s commitment to diversifying its character roster and creating a viewing experience where humor and heart coexist. As Happy’s Place continues to evolve, guest roles will likely contribute to its overall success and audience engagement.

    DREW CAREY, AISHA TYLER

Aisha Tyler and Drew Carey brought the laughs on the season premiere of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? But did they win $1 million for their chosen charities?

Host Jimmy Kimmel shared that he didn’t know they were pals, and Carey revealed they had the same manager for a while, and they both hosted Whose Line Is It Anyway? Tyler said that they are like “brother and sister from another mother.”

The pair seemed to be in good hands as Carey had been on Millionaire before and won $500,000. The comedians flew through the first few questions, but once they got to the $32,000 question, they got tripped up.

The question was “With a whopping 11, which of these singers has more number-one hits on the Billboard Hot 100 than the other three combined?” The choices were Whitney Houston, Celine Dion, Tina Turner, or Britney Spears.

Carey and Tyler both deliberated for several minutes whether it was Whitney or Britney. They decided to use one of their four lifelines and asked the audience. The audience chose Britney Spears, which the comedians were leaning toward, since she is still alive to make music.

However, the correct answer was Whitney Houston. The crowd groaned after they got it wrong, despite leading the pair astray. They went home with $32,000 for their chosen charities. “Well, we did know it was one of the two of them!” Tyler said.

“You guys were great! I’m so sorry that that happened. I blame them, by the way,” Jimmy Kimmel said, pointing towards the audience.

“I think we talked them into it,” Carey admitted.

    “I do too!” Tyler said.

Kimmel shared that they should have asked him because he knew the correct answer. As their game ended, Tyler told The Price Is Right host, “We should have listened to him! We should have asked him!” One of the lifelines they still had left was Ask The Host.

TV Insider spoke with Aisha Tyler about the pair’s time on the game show, her friendship with Drew Carey, and their snafu of not asking Kimmel for help instead of getting bad advice from the audience.

What made you want to be on Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?

Oh, I mean, I typically, if I have the time, I say yes to this stuff because of the charity component. I think that’s really the motivator for me. I know the show has been on for a long time, and it’s a big fan favorite. People love the show. For me, it’s always, can I both raise some money for a favorite charity and then also amplify their message, and then, obviously, the added bonus was that I was gonna get to do it with Drew, who’s an old friend of mine.

Did you and Drew Carey get to pick each other, or were you just assigned to it? Or because you were friends, you were just like, ‘let’s do this together.’

I mean, Drew and the show reached out to me and asked me if I wanted to do it. I don’t think they match you with people. I think it’s really like they have an interest and they go, ‘Hey, do you want to do it with a friend?’ And then, Drew reached out to me, and obviously, we have something very specific in common, which is that we both hosted Whose Line, but we’ve known each other through the stand-up world for 20 years.

Did you feel pressure going in since Drew was on the show before? Or do you think that made you feel more comfortable because he had experience?

Not really. I’ve done a fair number of charity game shows, so I don’t feel a lot of pressure. And then I, having hosted Whose Line, having done a lot of live television, there’s the big thing with these things, is that you never know what kind of a question you’re going to get. I felt super prepared, and Drew and I have a kind of a similar intellectual disposition. I guess we both do a lot of reading, so we felt really confident. Going in, you never know when you’re going to be thrown a curveball.

Did you think that the show was going to be easy or hard? And what kind of questions were you hoping not to get? What category?

I mean, I said right off the top, I’m not a pop culture maven. If you want to ask me about science or outer space, politics or geography, or history, I’m pretty great, but I’m just not a pop culture person. I have the same 10 songs on my phone that I listen to over and over again. I don’t really have the time to be immersed in pop culture. And it’s funny because I think we’re in a kind of cultural temper now, where everybody thinks everybody knows everything about everything, but I hear about a song, in a commercial, and then I’m like, ‘Oh, that sounds nice.’ And then I listen to that song for 10 years. So, that’s just not my area of expertise, and it never has been.

You appropriately then went out on the Whitney Houston question, which was music/pop culture. Did you think that question would be so tough, especially with how iconic Whitney Houston is?

I feel like we used our best judgment on that question. And it was really, I’m not gonna say it was a trick question, but it felt tricky because it was really very much like we lost Whitney a while ago, and who is still alive and still making hits? And it felt like Britney has just been this pop culture fixture for such a long time. So, to me, we kind of used reason to answer that question, and we also used a lifeline. So, it was a bummer, because I felt like we had, kind of two elements that we were using to answer that question. And I think it’s just the luck of the draw, just occasionally you’re going to get a question that you don’t know. Now, in retrospect, honestly. We probably should have used Jimmy, because it was clear that he knew something about the question that we didn’t, and we should have leaned into that, but we wanted to save him for later in the game. And I think that we were like,’ Oh yeah, we’ll go to the audience. People know stuff about this.’ The audience seems super confident. They were like, ‘Oh yeah, absolutely. Ask us.’ And I was like, ‘You guys have let us down. You betrayed us.’ *laughs* But it was a really logical answer to that question. And I also think that Drew and I thought we might have talked the audience into answering the way that we were answering, because we were doing a lot of out-loud reasoning about why we thought that Britney might have had more hits than Whitney. I have a really good friend who’s a Whitney obsessive, and he is never going to forgive me.

Would you want to do any other game shows, like The Price Is Right with Drew?

Oh, well, I love Drew. I don’t know, do they do a celebrity Price is Right? I also obviously, really, really close with Wayne Brady, who does Let’s Make a Deal. I just feel like Drew, Wayne, and I are like this, funny, little, strange set of comedy triplets. So yeah, I mean, I would go on their shows, if they ask, because they’re just, great, great friends of mine, and I want to support them. And anytime that there’s a charity opportunity, that’s really what motivates me. I feel like the best, most meaningful part of being in this business is the opportunity to do what you can on behalf of other people. So, it’s not so much the game show as if I can help other people. So yeah, if there’s ever an opportunity to raise money for charity again in the future, I feel like every time they ask me what charity I want to play for, I’m like, ‘Oh, God. I mean it’s so hard to pick one, and there’s so much work to be done, and there’s so many people that need help.’ So yes, if there’s a chance to raise money for people, then I’ll absolutely be back out there and hopefully see. And the thing is, now I’ll go away, and I’ll study a bunch of pop culture, and then they’ll be asking about molecular biology, and I’ll be like, ‘See guys?’ like, you can’t, you never know. I have like 17 other jobs. I can’t spend all my time reading the internet.

A “Wheel of Fortune” contestant wasn’t the only one hit with a surprise after winning a home on the game show; South Carolina native and “Wheel of Fortune” co-host, Vanna White was briefly injured after a “clump of confetti” hit her in the head.
Vanna can be seen moving across the stage as confetti cannons go off, confetti striking her in the head.

“First thing I’ve got to tell you is that when you won, Vanna was running across the stage when the confetti came out and got whacked in the head with a clump of confetti,” “Wheel of Fortune” host Pat Sajak said.

The confetti surprise came in Tuesday’s show after middle school teacher Laura Trammell became the first contestant in the show’s history to win a 2,000-square-foot home on the show, according to Wheel of Fortune. She also won $23,690 in prize money.

A WHEEL of Fortune contestant has revealed that Pat Sajak and Vanna White crashed her honeymoon, and her husband nearly crashed into Vanna.

The hilarious and sweet moment comes as the duo’s long time together is ending and Pat, 77, is retiring on June 7, 2024.

Pat kicked things off on Tuesday night by interviewing the mom-of-two and asked, “Now Vanna and I were on your honeymoon?”

The broadcast cut to Vanna, 66, who threw up her arms and looked caught off-guard, unsure what was coming.

The contestant explained that their honeymoon coincidentally came as the iconic duo was filming a commercial spot.

She said, “So when my husband and I went on our honeymoon, you guys were filming promos there.

“So we watched you film by the pool, on the beach, and even one night we were having dinner.

“I excused myself from the table, and when I came back, my husband told me, ‘I nearly walked into Vanna. And I had no idea.’”

Pat replied, laughing, “Well there you go, I’m glad we could be a part of your honeymoon, and I’m sorry about knocking on the wall the way I did.”

Laura went to the bonus round with the highest score of $38,030, a trip to the Caribbean, and was joined by her husband offsides, whom Pat called “my old friend.”

Laura could not solve the tough puzzle as “Whirwild Year,” but Pat admitted the $40,000 bonus prize she missed out on was nearly equal to what she won.

    PAT’S WRAPPED FILMING

Meanwhile, Pat has not only set his last day as host but taped his farewell episode, The U.S. Sun can exclusively reveal.

He will bid farewell to the masses at the end of Season 41 on Friday, June 7, 2024.

But a rep for Wheel of Fortune exclusively confirmed to The U.S. Sun that Pat has filmed his last slate of six episodes on April 5, 2024.

This includes his final episode, fittingly titled “Thanks For The Memories,” and is already filmed, the show exclusively shared.

That means Pat is done hosting the show and the episodes fans are seeing come as he’s already retired.

The episode will be a TV milestone as the host has doled out puzzles and prizes alongside Vanna White, 66, since 1981 and 1982 respectively.

The show did not share if Pat’s farewell episode will be an all-out tribute with memories from over the years or simply a normal game ending with him saying goodbye.

Tickets for Pat’s penultimate five episodes were opened to the public at the last minute, while his farewell episode was reportedly not open to the public and was invite only.

Pat announced in spring of 2023 that he’d be leaving the iconic game show and that Season 41 would be his last.

Shortly after, Ryan Seacrest announced on Instagram that he would replace Pat as the new host come fall 2024.

Vanna will be joining Ryan for at least his first two seasons as host under her new contract.

The show airs weekdays at 7:30 pm ET on ABC, so fans can catch his sendoff on June 7 at that time.

Fans have been left wondering why Joy Behar has been absent from The View for the past week, with some concerned she might be leaving the show.

Last Thursday, host Whoopi Goldberg, 69, addressed her absence, and told viewers: “Joy is not here. We wish her a happy opening night. It’s tonight.”

Whoopi was referring to Joy’s off-Broadway play, My First Ex-Husband, which premiered last week at New York’s Mac-Haydn Theater.

She wrote the production and also performs in it, alongside Tovah Feldshuh, Susie Essman, and Adrienne C. Moore.

Joy hasn’t been on The View since last Monday (February 3), with former co-host Star Jones filling in for her.

But now she has returned to her place on the panel, much to the delight of fans.

However, it’s now been revealed there is more to her absence than just her off-Broadway show.

Speaking about why she has been away from The View, Joy said: “I was sick!”

Although she didn’t disclose what illness she’d had, she hinted she had been unwell all week – and just as her off-Broadway show was kicking off.

Asked how Mr First Ex-Husband was going, she replied: “It’s going really well, people seem to like it!.

The popular host has been a staple of The View since she the show started in 1997.

An Iconic ‘The Price Is Right’ Game, Beloved by Generations, Faces Potential Retirement – Fans Demand Answers!

Famous ‘The Price Is Right’ Game That May Be Getting Retired

Drew Carey The Price Is Right YouTube

The Price Is Right has added several games to the retirement bunch. Is it a game that viewers would be okay with not seeing anymore? It seems viewers want the games switched up a bit anyway. Also, there are some fans who think is too hard. Keep reading to find out more about this.

The Price Is Right Games In Retirement

The Price Is Right has several games that have been retired. This may be due to financial reasons, viewer requests, or just because they were not liked by the production team. For example, games in retirement include, Add Em’ Up, Bullseye I, Hit Me, Hurdles, Penny Ante, The Phone Home Game, Super Ball!!, Trader Bob, and Walk Of Fame.

However, there may be another game being added to that list. Fans would like to see some of these games back. However, not all are missed. These games were all retired while Bob Barker was the host of the game show.

The Game That May Get Retired

Viewers are hoping to see the game, 3 Strikes, retired as well. They think the game is just too hard and it is not enjoyable to watch. Fans went to Reddit to give their opinions.

    Hardest: Three Strikes

Three Strikes is basically a middle finger to anyone who wants to win a car.

    3 Strikes is the hardest.

If you’re lucky enough to get your the show and they reveal Stack the Deck or 3 Strikes to you, just walk off the stage and wait for the Showcase Showdown.

3 Strikes is not a fun game

I legitimately can’t remember the last time I saw a player get more than 1, maybe 2 numbers before striking out so I’m not a fan of this game either lol,

I despise 3 strikes. Way too much luck involved,

Fans are not loving the game. It is not easy and does not result in many wins.

    Price Is Right

    Price Is Right

It seems that 3 Strikes is the hardest game in fans’ opinions. They do not think it is fair to the contestant. While it is a rare game to see, viewers would not mind never seeing it again. They would like to see more contestants winning cars and not losing.

However, easier games may not be in the show’s best interest due to financial reasons. What do you think about the game? Would you like to see it get laid to rest? Sound off in the comments below.

Price Is Right host Drew Carey was pulled to the ground by a contestant – and we’re not sure he was either

Price Is Right contestant gets a little too over-enthusiastic and sends host Drew Carey flying

We appreciate the prospect of winning prizes on a game show might excite a few people – but this contestant just took it to the next level.

The over-enthusiastic woman in question had been taking part on the US TV staple The Price Is Right earlier this week, and got very excited when she made it through one round ahead of her competitors.

So excited, in fact, that she tried to grab host Drew Carey in a hug – and succeeded in knocking him over instead.

It’s safe to say we weren’t expecting that – and we’re not sure he was either. Although he and the contestant (who also ended up on the floor) did quickly get back on their feet again in a bid to regain some order.

We couldn’t imagine this happening on Alan Carr’s reboot of the show.

As it happened the contestant – who went by the name of Sona – had pretty short-lived celebrations, after she missed out on the jackpot prize when she failed to correctly guess the price of a car.

She did, however, go home with $3,000 so it wasn’t all bad news.

This wasn’t meant to happen (Picture: Price Is Right)
And it’s not the first time that someone’s ended up on the floor on The Price Is Right either – remember when this happened back in 2015?

This is clearly getting to be a Price is Right habit then…

The chairs are turning again — and this time, it’s not just for the artists. A fresh mix of music heavyweights are stepping into the spotlight on “The Voice,” and fans are already voicing strong opinions long before a single note is sung.

The short clip introduced music legends Snoop Dogg, Niall Horan, Reba McEntire, and Michael Bublé as the coaches for the fall 2025 season.

A description accompanying the announcement read, “Yes, you saw that right. Presenting our Coaches for this fall on The Voice…” A follow-up post engaged fans with the question of whose team they would join when the new season airs later this year.

The lineup prompted a flurry of responses from longtime fans, revealing excitement and dissatisfaction with the coach selection. Several viewers took to the comments section to voice concerns, particularly about Dogg’s return.

One person wrote, “Any but Snoop- won’t watch with him [sic]….” There were also remarks suggesting a shift in the show’s focus. A fan commented, “I like Snoop but the show centered on him too much, it was like the Snoop Dog show.”

Others expressed broader discontent with the show’s direction. One person remarked, “The Voice is going downhill fast. After what Adam did to Britton, I’ve lost interest in this show.” Another added, “Another season not watching, can’t stand snoop and Reba [sic].”

Still, many fans welcomed the new lineup with enthusiasm. One commented, “Now this is a great set of judges for once.” Another said, “Love this team! Perfect!”

Several viewers were specifically excited for Horan’s return. One viewer penned, “This looks like the best line up yahoo, #teamniall all the way of course [sic].” Another shared, “the way my jaw dropped seeing Niall back [sic]!!”

“My strategy was to look, listen and learn,” the 53-year-old rapper said about his first day of Blind Auditions. “First of all, I’m glad they didn’t make me go first [during Blinds]. They made me go, like, second or third, so I was able to watch the other Coaches and see some of the things that they did.”

“And then once I understood that, I could add some Snoop-ism to the situation, as far as my conversation and my lingo, to the Artist to try to get them to come home,” he concluded.

Bublé also opened up about his experience during the same season. He admitted that Blind Auditions presented a unique challenge for him. “Honestly, it’s not what I’m best at. It’s hard to advocate for yourself in that way. And when I did, I tried to do it with humor, to be self-deprecating and to hope that you could break down barriers that way.”

“It would have been harder for me, I think in other seasons where there was a different energy, like more of an edge of Coaches kind of fighting each other. But I was trying to be genuine, to tell people that I might be able to help them, and use humor, again, just to break down those walls. Because my dad always said: If you’re good, you don’t have to tell people,” the 49-year-old Canadian singer revealed.

McEntire, also a coach in Season 26, discussed the weight of stepping into the role once held by Blake Shelton.

In a 2023 interview with Newsweek, she reflected on what that transition meant. “Nobody can replace Blake Shelton. He’s a huge personality and a wonderful person…. I’m just getting in there trying to have fun and represent country music as best I can.”

She also explained her approach to coaching, emphasizing encouragement over criticism. “I can’t be a mean judge. I mean, when I turned it down 15 years ago when they wanted me to do The Voice, I said, ‘I can’t tell anybody that they’re horrible.’ I can’t say to somebody, ‘Well is your mama gonna meet you at the bus station? Because you’re going home.’ I can’t do that.”

Reba McEntire mentioned that she has been learning from fellow coaches, including John Legend, Gwen Stefani, and Horan. “Every day that we’re working on The Voice, I’m learning more from them how to let ’em down easy if they don’t get picked up, coach ’em, and if you can give them any advice whatsoever… give them advice and encourage them to come back,” she added.

Horan, also returning for Season 28, had previously made an impression during Season 23, which premiered in March 2023. Speaking to an NBC Insider about his fellow coach Kelly Clarkson, he noted, “Ooh, my biggest competition this year is definitely Kelly. We have very similar tastes in music, same kind of taste in voices. Yeah, I think she’s going to be a massive threat to me.”

Horan described a passion for mentoring new artists. “I love finding new talent online and things, so I really wanted to get involved and find a new crop of talent that we can nurture and make careers of,” he said.

“I’m excited to win this thing. I’ve got an unbelievable team of ridiculous talent. I didn’t hit my buzzer every time, because I was being super picky about who I wanted on my team. I wanted all different types of singers, all different types of genres, just wanted character,” added the 31-year-old Irish singer.
